Here are some of my hot (or maybe tepid) takes about arcane:

-the show could have used another season or like at least 5 more eps per season. Thats not a dig at the creators bc we know they were already forced to cut stuff out, but imho it shows a little, esp in s2. I fully believe Sevika was one of the biggest victims here, i genuinely believe she had an arc in s2 act 3 that was fully cut. And her being one of the biggest defenders of zaunite independence also means that by cutting her they basically gutted that storyline.

-the sheer lack of time with some characters also means that i simply did not connect with some of them, which made their deaths kind of underwhelming. Like i gasped when loris, isha, elora and sky died, but i cant say i was actually sad. That might be a me problem, but i need a little more time and info on a character to feel literally anything about them.

-on the other hand: we need to accept that sometimes background or minor characters are just that. No they werent robbed, no they werent underwritten, theyre simply not that important and thats OK bc theyre characters, not real people. You dont need to give equal attention to all characters for it to be "fair". And i sometimes feel like ppl think they HAVE to bemoan this. esp when its a female character a lot of fans talk about "sidelining" or "theyre using them as a plot device!!" Buddy, sometimes characters are literally just there to move the plot along, thats not inherently a social justice issue. (Ive seen this the most with sky and lest and like.... sorry, they were never gonna be more important than this. They can still be your fave, but just bc you wanted to see more of them doesnt mean they were sidelined for nefarious reasons)

-however sometimes the problem isnt that a character got too little screentime. S2 is a perfect example to show you can do a lot of character work in less time (viktor, ekko) and little character work with a lot of screentime (vi, sorry). Viktor and ekko were missing for entire episodes and managed to have full character arcs and vi was kind of there the whole time, but stuff just happened to her? Like she does do a lot, she looks incredibly cool, i liked watching her scenes, but her motivations, her goals and her values are ALL over the place. I love caitvi, but it did kinda ruin vis integrity when she threw away core beliefs (she becomes an enforcer, she temporarily agrees to kill jinx, she participates in chem warfare against the undercity) for cait. Hmmmmm.....

-i wasnt that deep in the fandom in s1 so i might have simply missed it or i might just not be following assholes, but the "jayvik shippers hate mel" thing never made sense to me. NOT because i dont believe it, bc i sure as hell have seen enough mlm shippers be fully misogynistic or racist, but the way ppl (mainly meljay shippers lbr) talked about jayvik shippers being horrible to mel like it was this HUGE thing confused me bc i personally have seen like 2 fanfics where they horribly mischaracterise mel to be a viktor-hating bitch, but thats it? Like, was that an actual problem or was it ppl deliberately misunderstanding stuff? (One specific example: ive seen someone accuse jayvik shippers of being misogynists bc they accused mel of manipulating jayce and sidelining Viktor. Which is a canonical thing happening in the show. Like ofc you can word it in a way to make mel a horrid evil bitch, im sure there are ppl who DO hate mel and think she is an evil succubus, but this person in particular just seemed upset about the fact that ppl were talking about things that mel canonically did.) This is a genuine question, bc from my pov after s1 mel was one of the fan faves and jayvik wasnt THAT big of a deal until s2. I literally saw a hundred times more jayce hate than i did mel hate, but maybe thats not the universal arcane fandom experience? Like, again, i HAVE seen (for lack of a better term) fujoshis get wildly hateful towards female characters in the vicinity of their ship, i was just pleasantly surprised that the arcane fandom seemingly DIDNT. So the unrestrained resentment and bitterness of some fans after jayvik "went canon" caught me off guard.

-the reason i ask this: i saw a video where someone talked about some rando homophobic timebomb fans who apparently resented caitvi for getting a happy ending instead of jinx and ekko. So i commented "i s2g het-shippers act like theyre an oppressed group sometimes" to which another person responded "well jayvik fans were really shitty about mel, soo...." and i was so fucking confused bc what? The video wasnt even about mel or jayvik?? They just heard me make a snarky comment about het ships and immediately felt called out. But yeah thats what prompted my question.

-i dont get the thirst for the fish man. I get the salo thirst even less. I cheered when jayce bonked him.

-i actually dont want jayce or viktor to appear in future projects. While i love the idea of them being ~not dead~, i think any further canonical storylines about them would devalue the extremely emotional ending they had. Like, imagine if they only bring one of them back?? What then?? No, i actually prefer post-canon fix it fanfics in this case. (Cough cough esp bc this way i can still plausibly delude myself into them being actually canon and yall KNOW it probably would not stay this way if their story continues)

HI OMG IM SO SORRY FOR THE VERY LATE REPLY, IVE BEEN VERY BUSY BUT SURE! And since I'm a multishipper, I'll just list my top 5 ships out of fandoms I've been in

FengCui: Feng Xiao x Cui Buqu (Wushuang/Peerless) - The reason I love this ship so much and is my top 1 out of all the shows and books ive read and watched is because I'm so in love with their dynamic, development, and interactions with each other. They first start of as rivals then gradually start to fall for each other with each case they work and time they spent togther. I also loved the fact that the author didn't use stereotypical tropes with the main cp. While its enemies to lovers, to me, it's enemies AND lovers because when they do get together, their dynamic didn't change and they still remained the same. And that's one of the reasons why I love this pair so much.

2. Cezhou: Shen Zechuan x Xiao Chiye (Qiang Jin Jiu/Ballad of Sword and Wine) - I honestly debated if this should be my top 1 but I ultimately decided this would be my top 2 mainly bc I prefer fengcui's dynamic more, But of course, that doesn't make this ship any less great and amazing! In my opinion, this is enemies to lovers with sexual tension done right. I used to hate the trope enemies to lovers because of experience and personal things... But this ship changed my perspective on it a lot. Even though they got together early in the novel, they're still the ship that has the most amazing development and growth I've seen in such as a long time.

3. Hualian: Xie Lian x Hua Cheng (Heaven Official's Blessing) - Ah yes... the classic. I had to put them at my top 3 because TGCF and hualian is what mainly got me into danmei and to this day, I still adore them with all my heart and I'll never ever forget how they made such a huge impact on me... They're like romeo and juliet but done right. They're also the couple that made my standards so unrealistic to the point that I think I'll never ever be able to find someone to love as much as how much they love each other... As much as they're unrealistic, they also made an impact on how I view love in general. I also relate to hua cheng when it comes to appearances because dawg... I am also so insecure of that as well... and when Hua Cheng is insecure about it and Xie Lian is just telling him that he's gorgeous and not ugly like he thinks he is just makes me want to cry because that validation and comforting words is what all of us insecure people need. Just having the reassurance that we're perfect just the way we are...

4. Lucathy: Lucas x Athanasia De Alger Obelia/Athy (Who Made Me a Princess) - I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! Athy is so precious to me and I will protect her at all cost! And I love how their relationship just naturally progresses on the time the spent together and isn't just immediate love at first sight. And I also love how lucas went from "I'm going to watch this bc this is entertaining" to "If you ever hurt her, I'll destroy all of obelia" and bro... LUCAS IS SO WHIPPED FOR ATHY ITS SO FUNNY AHAHAH (Also reminds me on how Xiao Chiye is so whipped for Shen Zechuan but that's another time). And not only that, but I love how Lucas got back from his quest, heard about how Athy got humiliated, bro was like: "Should I kill him?" like bro did not care if it was her father, if someone did shit to her, he would deal with them.

5. LoidYor: Loid Forger x Yor Forger (Spy x Family) - BRO I IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS SHIP!! Assassin x Spy? OH HELL YEA! I've honestly been waiting for this kind of trope for such a long time lol. Not only that, but I low how yor is such a girlboss and protects her family even if it isn't real. I honestly really like their progression so far and I hope that they honestly become a family in the end... I have nothing really much to say about this ship because I haven't been keeping up with SXF but I really love them and they're trope because I haven't seen Assassin x Spy trope in fandoms I've been in.

top 5 supergirl episodes?

full disclosure i haven't seen the entirety of supergirl (ive literally only seen like 7 eps & its all season 1) so this list will probably change over time (bc im starting to painstakingly watch the show - imagine slowburn but watching a series) however ive watched like a ridiculous amount of supercorp edits so im going to base my choices on the parts where supercorp exist ha!

5. Season 1 - Red Faced

this would probably be the only none supercorp related yet still somehow my personal fave for a few reasons. i love this scene in particular bc it shows that cat grant cares for kara and what cat says here is very relatable. no matter how harsh cat can be at times, cat was a girl's girl here. she gave an advice which was helpful to both supergirl and kara. she had every right to rip kara viciously apart but instead she took a completely different route. i like the line she says here.

"You really need to figure out what's really bothering you." "You really need to find that anger behind the anger. And you really need to figure out what's really making you mad."

i think this was also the ep where kara acknowledged where some of the anger was coming from. even with zero dialogue and with mel's incredible acting skills she was able to convey so much emotions during that scene where she releases all her anger towards the red tornato. From losing her parents, losing her planet —her home, for losing everything and maybe even angry with her parents for the choices they made for her. it was such an incredible and very emotional scene.

so this isnt at all groundbreaking bc honestly, 5 isn't enough and anything that has supercorp will be my favorite even though again i havent seen the rest of supergirl yet but we're ignoring canon so we're ignoring that fact too. i think this was the ep where kara was comforting lean about jack's death. i personally have a love and hate relationship towards this scene for many reasons but im a sucker for supercorp and there was a clip where kara hesitated and looked like she was about to plant a kiss on lena's head but then hugged her instead and i think its beautiful and im a sucker for kara leaning in towards lena

OKAY!!! so i had to gather visuals for this one bc i have many feelings about this!! I went for scenes that no matter how many times i watch, they never lose their magic for me, no matter that i know theyre coming, it still takes my breath away and makes me roll around with delight, these most of these i feel like are probably pretty obvious ones, they were meant to be impactful but ough, if they dont tear me up in the best way

I mean, what can i say??? what IS there to say?? theyve been teammates for a few weeks at this point, but hinata has given all his trust to kageyama and in turn, kageyama promised to use it to its full potential. its also a promise for their rivalry!! like, okay okay okay think about it, with the context we have with Kazuyo, kageyama has *already* decided that hinata is going to be his someone better! he sees it innately and he wants to draw it out of him, and he's, hes trying to be *hinatas* someone better too!! do u understand *shakes you* do u see what i mean!!! i mean, im sure u do, im definitely not the first person to go insane about this and ppl have probably also said it in a way thats smarter than me but just, ough

its,,,, its,,, the acceptance of it all,,, i just think about how *alone* kageyama must have felt after his grandfather passed, we see and know that hes not good at connecting with people. hes bad at communicating and hes sensitive and he's scared of getting complacent. like, the all youth camp arc and atsumu calling him a goody-two-shoes is kageyama struggling with how he is changing, how hes trying to incorporate the influences he's gotten from his betters, and he cherishes it, but he's also felt like the advice he'd been given didn't also mesh with certain parts of himself. or, thats how i read into it, anyway. he tries so *hard* to be what ppl need him to be, and he's *so scared* of being rejected again. and this is hinata (and the rest of karasuno) telling him "HEY! we like you! we think you're smart and you dont have to shoulder connection all on your own! let us help you connect with us in a way where you feel comfy too :)" and then they talk about how they want communication! and it works!! and i just *rips into a pillow with my teeth*

HINATA'S PERFECT RECEIVE!!!!! so the inarizaki match is probably my favorite?? there are so many good moments but *this?* you wanna see me go insane? do you want smth thatll make me tear up? every time!! its just!!! a beautiful culmination of all of hinatas hard work that he's put into during the year! its his change of mindset! its his growth!! he's fallen a level deeper in love with volleyball and ive fallen a level deeper in love with his character

halo around the moon <3 Tsukki's block, his hard work, his character arc and development and everything is just *chefs kiss*. i remember the first time i watched the show, i,, *hated* tsukishima, and i think we definitely arent supposed to like him at first, but GOD does that turn around!! and this moment just feels so *earned* and *epic* and in the end HE STILL ISNT SATISFIED!!!!! he STILL wanted more!!! this point was worth 100 god fucking damn!!

im talking about the inarizaki match again!! but this time with a focus on Tanaka, who kind of struggled with this match! he was in a low place during it, felt stagnated and lame. Tanaka, as a character, i would say is best characterized by his mental fortitude and stability, funny enough. He's wild, but i think part of his visual design lends that as his base (since he's often compared to buddhas/monks). But in this match, we get more depth, we see him falter and struggle! it takes more than just a slap to his cheeks to get better (tho tsukishima does point out that he gets out of his depression pretty fast) but like, tanaka uses meaningful cognition to break his rut, and its also just like, advice that I've seen used for stuff like any kind of creative block as well. The visual during the animation, he's climbing up the stairs, he's slowing down, he's coming face to face with a canyon, a plateau. He sees two options, give in, or push forward and he picks "the cooler" one, and struggles forward, forces himself ahead! and kageyama backs him up too, by not letting him back down, assuring him that his usefulness hasnt reached its end and AUGH I LOVE A TEAM YALL

1. What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

valyrie - what *was* it... im PRETTY sure it was just that i was watching executioner virgin road and was like 'damn i should make a character who passes herself off as a priestess but shes actually an assassin for the church'. so i did that.

nest - nest for sure was that i saw that imageset of the redheaded swordswoman and i was like 'oh shit. we can make a girl out of this'. so i made a less gallant version who loves getting into fights and is so painfully A Teenager.

2. How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)

for both of them it was pretty much just as long as it took to make the picrew, which was effortless in both cases. theyve obviously gotten development since then but they wouldve been very recognisable from that point.

3. What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?

valyrie - role i think, not that she was in any story but her role was always going to be church assassin priestess.

nest - its hard to tell if it was personality or appearance. probably appearance.

4. And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?

valyrie - i dont think i struggled with anything for valyrie. if anything, her name, but it came to me pretty easily.

nest - i think role? just bc she wasnt made to have a specific role

5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

valyrie - it's just 'valkyrie' without the k. primarily vibes, but the vibes are that she's supposed to have the vibe of being a holy warrior, to obscure her actual job.

nest - i honestly dont know why but 'nest' was stuck in my head as a name so i ran with it. its short for anestesia. she hates her respectable noble family so she uses a nickname, and in her original canon she had good friends in an orc village, where it was tradition to be named after things in nature (her friends iirc were Twig and Rain) and the village kind of adopted her, so she chose to go by Nest.

8. What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?

valyrie - iirc valyrie's personality is born of her appearance. shes SO fucking tired, but shes been raised to maintain her persona as a priestess. these two things turn her into someone who has a calm, even voice and avoids letting her temper get the best of her, but doesnt mince words. this is not projecting, i dont think my personality is very much like valyrie's.

nest - ive got no fuckin clue where her personality came from. shes just an asshole who sprang out of my head. possibly my least relatable girlie. i hate conflict. this makes me sound like im just outright denying it but youve really just sniped the girlies i dont think im projecting onto lol.

11. Is there any existing character from other media that your character resembles? Was the resemblance intentional or was it a coincidence?

valyrie - she looks honestly a hell of a lot like uguisu anko from call of the night, except deathly pale and with white hair. this was wholly unintentional, i hadnt seen call of the night when i made her.

nest - i mean, redheaded swordswoman isnt an uncommon anime character. but i cant think of any she looks particularly like. the girl she was based on was someone else's oc so i dont think shes in media.

16. Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?

vayrie - in universe yes. she goes up to someone and introduces herself like 'good afternoon, im valyrie, priestess of the church of whatever' and whoever it is looks at her outfit, which is definitely and specifically a priest's outfit and not a priestess's, and they say 'um. priestess?' and shes just like. 'priestess.' she also gets it when shes killing people but theyre more confused about the fact that shes killing them than the fact that her outfit is different than they expect.

nest - i dont think theres anything about nest currently but shes definitely the type to garner the ire of those around her so if she fucks up enough people will definitely talk. like 'i heard the blackmoor girl will be at this party' 'oh heavens i better bring my brass knuckles' or some shit idk.

19. What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?

valyrie - i mean the scars obviously i think the best part of valyrie is the way she commands fear. i think its hot that shes so intimidating that most of her marks dont even get a hit in. i dont think theres anything i dont like about her atm.

nest - the best part of nest.... i think i like their weird take on chivalry and their juvenile devotion to the first girl they feel like needs Protecting. it feels at odds with their usual personality but i think the best way to describe nest is 'headstrong', and that covers both things. as for the least favourite part... i love it as a character trait but god it would be so theoretically annoying to meet nest in real life. shes so angry and fighty. it makes her difficult to work with, as a character.

20. Bonus question: share any additional thoughts, art, favourite scenes, anything you've been waiting for a chance to ramble about

valyrie - if i ever get back to writing that isekai, valyrie would play the role of an antagonist. the church would send her after luna & co, and when she fails they make her adela's handler and send her after them again. when this also fails, adela would be able to convince her to find the three relics of the witch, which would have disastrous effects neither of them anticipated that end up revealing the true nature of the church to her and luna&co. i think it would be funny to have the 'i think we're gonna have to kill this guy' meme with them, with adela on a leash and looking elated to be allowed to kill.

nest - im still kind of toying with the idea of making nest the protagonist of the theocracy story. the whole thing is about being deceptively manipulated by various older women who seem pitiable that she could Definitely Save And Protect. she would fall for every route hook line and fuckin sinker.

i was shamed for my weight by my father at just 12 which caused me to have body issues ever since, i was 66 kilos back then, now im 45 and still get judged by my own parents for it.

im boring

im stupid and the only reason why the only classes im good at is english, computer and art class is because I've been chronically online since like 5 years old

i rarely go outside

i was taught that going to a psychologist or therapist or in general someone who could actually help me would be a punishment, "ill send you to therapy" would develop into a threat, after showing signs of neurodivergence by stimming around my parents once my dad called me sick and said im on the same level as people who have down syndrome or a physical disability in general, and that I'd be tied up and sent to a mental hospital and spend the rest of my life being seen as insane if i ever acted like that again, my mom tried to "help" by saying that "maybe he is sick", i am now unable to actually see therapy as a good thing because i gen think ill just be seen as crazy and get sent to a mental hospital if i ever show signs of needing help

my own mom tried to k1ll me at 8yo and threatened me with a knife when i was 6

my dad ALSO m0l3st3d me at 7 after he got drunk cuz hes an alcoholic (i remember i told him "dad please dont drink so much today" since it was during a party) (i was 7)

i got told multiple times during school that I'll be bred and have my face fucked

when i was 9 i cvt myself using scissors because i thought its fun, when my mom noticed since i did them on my hands she, instead of asking why or comforting me, asked if i "really have it that bad" and accused me of being in a cult and c4rv1ng "symbols" onto myself (she never gave a shit she just assumed i was the problem)

i got s3xually harassed many times by my family members, classmates, school staff, and drunk strangers

i was also gr00med online many times

ive been told that im annoying and weird ever since i was only 5 years old and everytime i see the word annoying now i tear up like a baby because im stupid (last time i got called annoying for infact being annoying i c4rv3d the word annoying onto my thigh)

im easily replaceable and have absolutely 0 friends irl

the only times when im liked is when im silent and sad instead of happy and energetic

I've been thinking about watching Dark for a while but I have a problem with scenes that are way too traumatizing. Does the show have really Gorey or disturbing scenes (or plot points) that make you lose your sleep?

Like for example, how much more disturbing it is compared to Stranger Things?

i would say stranger things is way more visibly disturbing than dark but darks plot might be more disturbing. like stranger things has a lot of cgi and gore and makeup. theres not nearly as much of that in dark but the entire plot of the show itself is disturbing. i mean its literally about an eternal time loop hell that theyre all stuck in. i should also warn you that the music, especially in the first scene is VERY horror sounding and may make you think that theres gonna be a jumpscare any second but theres nothing like that.

im also bad with gore but theres not that much for me that was hard to watch. if youre like me i can NEVER watch the scene in stranger things s3 where jonathan puts the knife in el’s leg. theres nothing nasty like that in dark. but i will warn you about some of the biggest things that may be hard to watch.

the very first scene of the whole show is of a man hanging himself. they show the whole thing. its incredibly important to the plot but as long as you know that it happens you dont have to watch it. if you skip to 2:23 of the first episode you wont see it. the note youll see at 2:23 is his suicide note. its a timeloop though so i think they do play it again a couple times but you’ll know when to look away. if you see a man in an attic writing something, thats the scene but you will see the noose and know when to look away.

they also show some dead bodies in a morgue and a found dead body in the woods. these bodies have their eyes completely burned off. this honestly sounds way grosser and gorier than it looks. it looks like they have a mask of dried blood over there eyes. kinda like vecna eyes but not just the eyes alone, its the whole head where the eyes are. like think of the eye mask from the incredibles but with the dried blood that kinda looks like the s3 flesh monster in stranger things. kinda gross but i also have an issue with gore and i didnt find it disturbing to the point where i wanted to look away.

there are a couple murders in the show but most of them are from a gun so theres not too much gore, just the blood seeping out of their body. for me personally im the worst with blood if its like a stabbing or a beating so i found most of the murder scenes fine to watch. its also mostly shots in the chest, not the head which is easier for me to watch.

the goriest scene probably in the whole show is in season one episode 8 and its of a character bashing a kids head with a rock. you will know when to look away!! he chases the kid and pins him down and grabs the rock and pauses for a good five seconds before doing it. you’ll have time cover the screen. i always do.

theres another scene in s2 where someone is hung but he doesnt die, someone shoots the rope and lets him go. this scene leaves a bloody scar around his neck for the rest of the show but it fades over time and its wrapped when its still a fresh wound.

there is also a scene in season 3 episode 5 thats the only scene ive fully looked away from and never actually watched and its of someone getting stabbed in the neck. for me knives are the worst, but ive rewatched the show 3 times and ive always known when it was gonna happen and when to look away so ive never actually seen it. before the character is killed hes held at knife point for a bit and then hes stabbed (which ive always looked away from so i couldnt even tell you how gory it is) and then another character kills the character who killed him. they kill him with a fire extinguisher and you see blood go on their face but it doesnt show the face of the man theyre killing so its not hard to watch. this all happens bc the guy (one killed with the fire extinguisher) tried to sexually assault that other character. its not graphic and very soon after he attempts, the other character saves them. him attempting is not that disturbing. it lasts maybe 5 seconds before someone gets him off of them.

one last thing thats not gory but still may be disturbing is there is some accidental incest. when the characters dont know theyre in a timeloop, they dont realize who theyre related to so some of them have relationships without realizing theyre related. im not gonna say exactly what that relationship is to avoid spoilers but if you do want to know just send another ask.

i am also bad with gore and its really not that bad. spooky as hell and the plot really make you question reality and everything in it but nothing truly scaring. if you can watch people getting vecna’d in stranger things you’ll be fine.

for gore if your only issue is just seeing it but youre ok with hearing the story, something i like to do is listen to the descriptive audio but turn my brightness all the way down. this way i dont miss anything important but i dont have to see anything nasty.

I think I am a lot of things, personally (gay (hmu ladies)) and I wanted to boast about what a cool gal I am! Lemme start with some red flags

I have 5 stick and poke tattoos I did with no tutorials (they look super cool (they dont))

I never EVER use tutorials I wing it every time with everything like I cut my own hair with scissors from the kitches without even LOOKING AT A PICTURE I just hope it looks cool and emo and that my bangs will make me partially blind

ok so i just recently started microwaving it in my brain so i dont have a Ton of it fleshed out yet but basically its gonna be a fic series set in the alternate timeline where like on day One of the tournament in mk9 johnny suddenly realizes he's bisexual and is like "I'm pushing 30 and I only just now realized I could be hooking up with guys too? That's nearly three decades of lost time to make up for! Un. Ac. Ceptable." and so he decides he's going to try to sleep with as many men as possible (so like, the majority of the male characters in mk9, mkx, and mk11)

i'm thinking kung lao might end up being his sexual awakening and the first guy he sleeps with because i honestly feel like they could get along well and are a SUPER underrated ship! maybe johnny runs into kung lao the first night of the tournament and the two of them hang out for a bit, maybe have some drinks or something, johnny asks him questions about the tournament and other Lore™, and then maybe theyd have a little friendly practice sparring session where johnny ends up pinned to the ground and impulsively kisses kung lao, after which they take it to his room ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) did they even fucking have rooms on shang tsung's island? where did they sleep?? did they sleep??? idfk

i still have a lot to figure out in regards to where other hookups are gonna take place in the timeline. im thinking hanzo and kuai might be last (so probably sometime in/around mk11), and he'll hook up with both of them together bc theyre husbands <3

i've got a couple other characters i'm thinking will be package deals too. again i need to figure out timeline fuckery, but i Love erron/kabal, and i like the idea of johnny playing matchmaker, so i wanna have him meet the two of them separately and realize how much they have in common and be like "oh i know a guy i think you'll get along with" and then set up a threesome without knowing that the two of them both used to be in the black dragon together lmao (he Does manage to succeed in getting them together tho >:3c )

i might have raiden and bo' rai cho be a package deal too, partially because i love the idea of them being husbands (another beloved rare pair </3) and also because i realized that i dont actually know if johnny ever meets bo' rai cho in the alternate timeline??? so it'd be an easy way of getting him into the story lmao

windwolf is one i also Might consider as a package, but i havent seen their part of the story in mk11 yet so i'll probably wait til i watch that to think about it more

i think the last set of characters ive thought about are johnny hooking up with liu kang and kitana at the same time, and then word of that makes it over to kotal, who then invites johnny over for a good time. johnny thinks "hell yeah" and goes over to hook up with kotal, only to find that kotal also invited liu kang, kitana, jade, and reptile (i have a big complicated polyship with those 5 hjkjhgfdfghjklkjhgf). johnny ofc is not at all bothered by this, the more the merrier >:3

but yeah i think thats most of what i have in mind for now. honestly the funniest dynamic this fic concept is going to introduce is johnny taking his little personal challenge Way too seriously and being like

No particular order except for #1 but: Ricklantis Mixup (emorty and citadel at the same time + just being awesome), Mort Ragnarick (just had a lot of laugh-out-loud moments for me), Rickshank Rickdemption (first of all I love Shawshank Redemption but also its funny and then morty trying to protect summer by disillusioning her from idealising rick was insane), Vat of Acid Episode (the morty love story was so sweet and tragic and imo actually would be an amazing stand-alone short film too), and then ofc Pickle Rick (its a classic for a reason)

2. sperm and dragon orgy ofc are my least favorite but ive also never gotten the hype for Get Schwifty i dont hate it just overrated

3. The entire mini-episode inside Vat of Acid killed me bc it was so perfect, morty cutting off his hand with the train and then using it to kill the guy in such a casual "rick-esque" way, morty trying to protect summer in Rickshank by trying to make her hate rick and it just making her look up to him more (ik i alr mentioned it but it deserves being said twice), BP saying wubba-lubba-dub-dub is actually a call for help, rick going to dr. wong abt everyone trying to fight him

4. "Should I get the net" really got me the first time, the entirety of rick yelling at the white house advisor guy but esp "THEN COME TO 312 OLIVE STREET AND FIND OUT" "...is that her address?" got me, and "Your boos mean nothing - I’ve seen what makes you cheer" is just so rick

6. this is rlly specific but in Rickshank when the bug called him the "smartest mammal in the universe" instead of smartest being in the universe he got offended and thats why he rlly goes in on taunting him at the end before he gets pulled out of the brainalyzer

7. terrifies himself whenever he gets aggressive/cruel bc it reminds him of rick prime, has constant nightmares about rick abandoning him (this was rlly reinforced by the s7 finale for me)

8. very much a dark start but i think each of them has attempted at least once; changing tone, obv trans summer but also shes definitely also bi/pan/other, beth and jerry used to watch soap operas together before rick came home to try and bond but it didnt work, jerry can definitely cook (i think weve seen this in the show but still including it), Mr. PBH used being a college professor to hide out after multiple murders across the country (yes i think hes evil and kinda hate him fight me)

9. frankly i dont think much about prime bc emorty is just the better antagonist but off the top of my head: he would definitely kick a dog then immediately regret it but not show it, hes actly super insecure bc he always had proof that he was the smartest rick but then c137 took that away by also inventing portal travel so he tries to convince himself hes still the smartest because he did it w/o knowing it was possible but he doesnt convince himself

10. as smart as (if not more than) most ricks (created portal travel w help and broke the central finite curve that rick created)

11. i mean i support them all as long as its consenting but more specifically: loved the beth one bc half of her entire thing is that she needs to love herself more even if i didnt like that it was technically cheating?; rick+prime would be purely very drunk hate sex and then never talk about it again; i feel like morty definitely has a crush on emorty but not reciprocated

12. someone else stole the rick council and lawyer morty one bc im slow but other than that the ginger rnm that we see for a total of 10 seconds on screen but still manage to die twice in that time

13. not rlly a theory but an observation that i havent been able to share w anyone about how easy to kill all the citadel ricks are because theyve just become so complacent in thinking that each of them is the most powerful being in the universe, yet any time we see the citadel get attacked (esp rickshank rickdemption) so many are just instantly murked its kinda an ironic karma

14. Theseus by Precious Jewel Armor; kinda a reach but its about dsmp tommyinnit and technoblade and ive always kinda related their relationship to emorty and morty prime with the whole thinking prime/tommy was better than the rest but he still wont join emorty/techno so he has to die instead (dunno if that made sense i can elaborate if asked but itll probably still make no sense)

when i realize i have the objectively best music taste and aestehtic visuals for hbo spn even though im two years late, its worth it. man ive seen some playlists and “aesthetic” images for “hbo” spn with lots of likes and reposts and im thinking like. these images are grainy and not even the same filter or really dont make sense. the playlists are the worst. literally theyll be like “because hbo spn is grimey and punk” and then the first song is olivia rodrigo. just smash my head with a brick please.. like none of the songs make sense. theres like fucking billie eyelash and mother mother on so many playlists…… do we even watch the same show…. hbo spn is literally the first 5 season aesthetics, just these raw contrasted close scenes of random cryptic objects and symbolism. the music is the first season and how they had a bunch of underground 2000s metal like so underground you cant even find most of it on spotify and if so they have like less than 100 monthly listeners. LITERALLY THE SHIFTER EP. hbo spn still gotta be strictly pre-2005 songs as much as possible. theres a few songs i have in mind that are more modern that i might just try to slip in if i dont go until their year. shhh its my universe. Someone Else’s Bed by Hole actually came out in 5 years before the release date because i needed it to. in this alternate universe dean lives up to this scary accurate song that definitely came out 2002. didnt come out 2010. what are you talking about.

and the fact that ive only JUST now found one other person who agrees that they cant be SUPER body modded because… theyre fucking fugitives for gods sake. their fits in the og show are actually genius bc they look like the most basic white men ever. hbo spn just needs a little flair and unique-ness. they can still go out in public wearing jackets to cover up tattoos or dress up as feds and put on makeup to cover up scars and a few stray accidentally badly placed tattoos you know. and when their not hunting or doing something where they could get caught, hell, give them some punk jackets with patches galore. they still dye their hair but not crazy colors, or maybe they do like what if sam gets arrest and they put out an warrant for someone with bleach blonde hair but also have another warrant for sam with black hair at the same time, okay, easy, go green for a while or something. idk.

im rewatching doctor who with my partner (they’ve never seen it, ive watched up to s9 but haven’t finished it and haven’t watched dw in years- I was obsessed as a teen tho)

we just finished s2 and ive come to the realisation that i hate it. i do not like it. its not enjoyable to me. love and monsters?? are you kidding me?? the fuckin 50s tv one?? the cat hospital?? like there are episodes that i think are objectively good that i just don’t enjoy (impossible planet/satan pit is fascinating, and there’s a lot of interest with the parallel world stuff) but overall i just really really /really/ dislike rose and ten together. don’t like it.

theyre insufferable, they’re not nearly human enough (like dw as a whole does treat a lot of serious stuff without gravity, but this season is atrocious for it - it’s like the second he regenerated ten went ah it’s all fine now!! im over the time war it’s fine (: never mind that his entire planet and species died a year or two ago for him), and everything that they have holding them together seems to be what happened when the doctor was a completely different person (ie before he regenerated). he’s important to her not bc of who he is now but bc of what they went through and who he was before he regenerated, and she’s important to him because she’s his only family since the time war.

they remind me of a couple who’s been married for like 5 years, but they got married while like they were in school or one of them was in the military or something and now that their circumstances have changed the only thing holding them together is the fact that they’re already together. like they love each other- but why? what do they actually love about each other? their history, that’s 95% of it. ive had this opinion for years about them as a ship, but frankly I’m realising this about them as any kind of relationship, platonic or not. i dont like them together and i dont think they’re good together or for each other.

also like- rose is 19 when they meet. she dropped out of school and works in a shop and dates someone she knew growing up. she experiences a lot more and grows up a lot during her time with the doctor, but she’s still at most 21 by the end of s2- she’s still a kid. like developmentally, she’s not full grown yet. she and nine work together bc their relationship is based on understanding that huge power imbalance, which is partly bc of how much older (and less traditionally attractive) nine looks, partly because she’s newer to the tardis, and partly because of how different nine’s attitude is to so much.

idk im glad to be up to s3 for sure. i don’t understand martha hate, i adore her, and i think most of her season is really good. i wish they’d spent less time having her moon (lol) over the doctor, i think it does both of them a real disservice, but she’s a great character and person and i love her arc and the series arc as a whole (i ship ten/john simm master Heavily so this should not be surprising but i do think that it genuinely holds up).

i just, i don’t understand why so many fans love rose/roseten/s2 when to me the whole thing feels like the writers had a really strong vision for s1, finished it, and went ah. didn’t think we’d get this far, have uhhh a werewolf i guess??? and then so many fans have such a negative opinion of martha & s3, when imo that’s when they wrestled the story back into something that’s really very narratively strong. like there’s dodgy bits and bad episodes (i am Not looking forward to lazarus or the pig people lol) but they’re bits and episodes, and even the parts that are dodgy can still be really enjoyable (i love the shakespeare code!! it’s so fun!! someone please either let martha smack bill for being racist, have someone else do it on her behalf, or just don’t put the racism in, but other than that it’s a really enjoyable episode). the daleks episodes are genuinely so good, and the family of blood, and blink???? and everything with the master??? sick as fuck. i love it. im so excited to enjoy the show again lol.

[[[Me trying to justify why i like music i like even though i dont have to but im insecure (ignore): My taste in music is extremely weird, but for a variety of reasons, i think almost anything by bach, at least as long as it isnt "too major" or joyfully christian, is perfext for me. Quality is assured, considering hes one of, if not the, most influential and intricate musicians and composers in western europe. I can listen to smth ive never heard before of him, and like it within seconds, because the pace and how quickly the notes and harmonies change is usually very quickly, so my brain cant go adhd mode and be like "this is boring, lets do smth else". Also a piece lasts usually at least like 5-7 minutes, usually longer, so i dont have to find smth new to listen to after just 2 min (though, i wiuldnt have to because i usually listen to the same piece/song for like 10-20 times in a row. Also i never get bored od anything of him, because its so complex and intricate, that theres new stuff to hear and notice all the time. You can listen to the same thing five times but focus on different melodic aspects which completely changes it and ypu notice new melodic lines or patterns that you didnt before, even though they were always there. Also like harmony and melody wise its always extremely good imo. And i just like it mainly because of how simple but at the same time complex it is and all the little patterns in there that are just so logical and make so much sense that it seems obvious, but its still so thoroughly thought-through that its just linda mesmerising. Sorry for this, i can get defensive when it comes to music.]]]

Currently reading: nothing bc i cant concentrate. Havent read any fictional book in 10 years. The last books i read was the warrior cats series (not sure if i remember it better than it actually is/was, but best story out of any books, movies, tv shows or games ive ever seen)

Currently watching: eratically re-watching star trek while skipping lots of things, and watchinf some other things with my ghoulfriend, but nothing new (funny dungeon cooking show season 2 when???)

Craving: usually my girlfriend and/or vatieties of food bc i either havent eaten virtually anything in 3days-1 week, or bc ive eaten the same exact thing every day, and nothing else, for 2 months, bc wverything else feels weird to eat or is too hard to make/get, and its getting tiresome and doesnt taste good anymore and my body needs more nutrients than just cereal.

But atm all my craving have been filled.

Tea or coffee: im guessing iced tea or coffee wouldnt count, orherwise those two in that order. I drink both tea and coffee very rarely, but i absolutely despise coffee, as in normal coffee. Its literally just bitter. But i sometimes drink like some kinds of milk coffee beverages, like latte macchiato, mainly bc of group pressure. and with enough milk and sugar that the coffee itself is virtually nonexistant, and just there as a sort of background flavour that doesnt taste bitter anymore, it can taste pretty good actually. The lnly tea-adjacebt thing i drink when im sick is hot lemonade but i dont think thst counts, so ill go with coffee ig
