Martha gets so overlooked and there's definitely a lot of racism going on both in the writing and the community (especially at the time). The whole discussions over if the racist schoolteacher in that one episode was a bad person or just a 'product of her time' still piss me off. And the Doctor treated her horribly too. Never thanked her in that episode or anything, instead he offered to replace her with the racist lady, like what the fuck

Clara becomes the Doctor but can we talk about how Martha is also the Doctor. Besides being an actual doctor, she also becomes a soldier and tries to justify it to herself. She went through hell and saved the earth and bore that weight alone, and was never thanked for it. In the Doctors Daughter she is forced to watch as her Hath "companion" sacrifices themself for her and dies horribly, and she has to leave them behind. Is this thing on

Nine would have thought Martha Jones was the coolest person in the world. was thinking about the nine/jack/rose love triangle and about how, unlike most love triangles, it is actually three-sided. It's not a "two men in love with the same girl" triangle, it's a "two men are in love with each other and also the girl" triangle except it's not. because it has more vertices when you include mickey. which ends up looking like this:

it's a love pentagon. (side note: if you ship Martha x jack, mickey x the doctor and jack x mickey, it becomes a love pentagram) but let's make this more interesting. What if I included every love interest I could think of? Well. I present to you:
