Doctor Who will have you reading three different books watching five spin-offs rewatching nine different eras and listening to seventeen different audio series at the same time but somehow it still isn't enough

River is actually such an amazing character. Like she is as kidnapped as a newborn and brainwashed to kill the Doctor, she regenerated for the first time when she was probably around 7, she became her parent’s best friend and was actually responsible for them ending up together, she finally meets the Doctor, gets shot by a Nazi/Tessalecta, still manages to kill the Doctor despite the fact that she regenerated only a few minutes ago, only to finally break through her brainwashing and realize that killing him was probably a bad thing. So what does she do? She uses all her regenerations to save a man who, until a few minutes ago, she was convinced she had to kill. She goes on to become an archeologist and fall in love with the Doctor, but on the day she graduates the people who stole her as a newborn come back an force her to kill the man she loves. She’s trapped in a suit and forced to watch as she is made to kill him, but she says fuck you to the laws of time and fucking breaks it because she will not kill the man she’s in love with. He then finds her and insists that she kill him and when she refuses and tells him that she loves him, he responds by fucking marrying her, telling her his name, and then showing her that’s he’s actually just a robot with a miniaturization ray so actually she can kill him and he’ll be ok. So she kills him and everything goes back to normal and everything should be fine right? Wrong! Her father ends up trapped in 1960’s New York and when her mother wants to join him she tell her to do it, even though she knows she’ll never see either of them again. Her life has been so much harder than anyone gives her credit for, and yet she never turns bitter. She somehow manages to stay happy and optimistic and be a total badass. Also she had a psychedelic lipstick which I think is amazing.
