This poor guy is already unstable, and now he’s suddenly small, furry, and walking on all fours.

The moment he realizes he’s a cat, his tiny cat heart nearly gives out.

He hides under the nearest piece of furniture, terrified of everything around him.

Your affectionate cooing freaks him out even more at first.

How could you be so calm about this?

He doesn’t understand why you’re laughing at his predicament.

When you finally manage to coax him out with soft pats and gentle strokes, he eventually starts to relax.

He’s still terrified, but the head scratches?

They feel… DAMN good.

Would he take advantage? Absolutely not.

He’s far too freaked out to even think about manipulating the situation.

He’s just waiting to turn back to normal as fast as possible.

Mid-pet, he poofs back to normal, looking frazzled.

He stares at you, blinking, and never brings it up again.

Occasionally swats at your hands, trying to act tough, but deep down, he loves the attention.

The quiet purring gives him away every time.

He realizes that being a cute, angry cat gets him exactly what he wants: more attention, food, and the occasional treat.

He’s not above being manipulative when he sees it benefits him.

Right as you’re petting him, he poofs back to normal, still stretched out on your lap.

Of course this guy would embrace the weirdness of being a cat.

Why wouldn’t he?

He darts around, knocking things off shelves just to kill you.

You try to pet him, but he’s too busy darting around the room, knocking things off shelves, and generally causing a mess.

He’s the kind of cat who’ll stare you dead in the eye as he shoves your coffee mug off the counter.

When you finally get him to calm down enough for some affection, he acts like he’s bored of it in a second.

But he’ll sit in your lap when it suits him—just on his terms.

Would he take advantage? Oh, absolutely.

This guy would milk the situation for all it’s worth, stealing food, knocking over anything in sight, and playing innocent when caught.

Right after "accidentally" knocking over a glass of water, he poofs back.

Do you have any advice for people who might want to get into making comics like yours? I'm always pleasantly surprised by how fast you pump them out and even have other little projects/doodles on the side. How do you keep the quality consistent?

First off - Thank you !! I'm honored you like my lil guys and comics hehe! (and no worries on the tone !! I didn't think it sounded cold at all!)

Alright secondly lets see...

Short answer: You really just gotta start and keep going!! Once you start you get the momentum and it gets much easier (like riding a bike, which people like to use as comparison often).

Long answer:

Alright I thought about how to answer for this for a bit and I think I'll break it down to the main aspects.

So timing ! Basically I'm drawing 24/7 (and I'm currently not working as it's an off time for me, but I shall in a week and you will see that my posting frequency will decrease substantially). Ok maybe not 24/7 but I essentially am drawing from the moment I wake up to when I sleep (minus eating, restroom, working out, some errands) and while I do not say this is the key to being better, I'm just realistically displaying how much time I'm spending on drawing. (... one of my new years resolution is to not in fact do that and go out more because I feel like I'm being cooped up in my room a lot haha). But minus the amount of time I spend itself a lot of it has to do with the importance I take in speed drawing. And when I say that I mean quite literally how fast I can draw. AND I think a large part of where that speed comes from is how I like to generalize designs and just my overall process of drawing. (Which, I will not go over now but if you'd like I could make a separate post on how I go about doing my usual sketch, lines, colors, etc) Like, I love ff and all of it's crazy designs but it's so complicated I simplify everything till it's juussstt recognizable, and that's something I feel like really adds to the speed of things.

Also that's sweet of you to say for the quality haha (I always am thinking stuff like ah man this aint it... not my finest work, and then just post anyways cuz who cares I already made it heh)! That being said my quality wasn't alwaysss consistent! Here's an example of my very first "comic" I made for my characters:

So I've been basically drawing comics for this for just about 2 years now (will be 2 years officially in a few months) and I most certainly did not get here in one night. I think, as I've mentioned, it's really important to keep up with the comic making (or drawing in general) so that, yes, you can get better, but the way you get better is that it becomes familiar to you. So you can approach concepts and ideas with a more experience. And I think a large part of what holds alot of people back is the idea that "ah I can't do this idea I'm not good enough." So what !! Still do it, I most certainly did it a couple years ago when I barely scribbled my ideas. And then you can totally go back and redraw it ! no "Rule" saying you can't go back and revisit your ideas, like hell even professional artists go back and republish their works with their improved art styles ! (ex. Tokyo Ghoul... even though I don't care for the story, it's still pretty cool! I think he even added more scenes? Anyways..). I think there was that one post going around where it was something like do it scared and that's really REALLY what you gotta do.

And that leads to my final point. You gotta love doing it. I like to make comics because I LOVE my characters, their story, and actually the act of putting it all together into a story, drawn comic, visuals, etc. And, I found my method of loving them. For me, what held me back was the "structure" of comics. I mean you can p much see that the way I like to do things is def not the "traditional" manga/western comic book style right? I won't go as far to say that I "made up this way" of comic making where it's one panel at a time but it certainly worked for me. (I have no idea how many comic wips I have collecting dust in my folders from my earilier days of making this comic where I just gave up 20% of the way in because I really could not vibe with the formatting, but then I figured out I really like to "thumbnail" comics (a result of when I was studying storyboards alot imo) and I went on from there).

This is where I feel like alot of people get stuck too. Where they really do like their ideas, their character, their stories and such, but as soon as they try and go through the process of creating in a certain way... the wind is just instantly taken out of their sails. And while I do believe sometimes you just gotta push through and do it anyways, sometimes that's not the right method to go about it. So instead of brute forcing a method of creation and eventually forming a bad relationship with the process, find a method that works for you. And maybe it doesn't look all that great or good compared to others, but that comes in time and as long as you like doing it, that's what really matters at the end of the day.

Tl;dr: be a lil freak, and lil weird about what you do (this applies to everything, not only art :3)

My thoughts & feeling about the Imbibitor Lunae's recent story leaks, in regards to Renheng / Xingyue & Dan feng himself

i'm pretty sure other folks have made posts trying to piece together the timeline, but even with the actual story sections the events of Dan Feng's sins are still super unclear

Starting with Dan Feng because he's my skrunkly; this dude really thought his power and position made him god-like with little regard to mortals below him while fighting with the HCQ

i know there were past leaks where DF was vaguely described as pretty emotionless and detached. but man he really does not give a shit people with his active detachment BUT the quick gazes & mentioned sharing drinks with the HCQ really makes it seem like DF went from consistent detachment throughout his current & past lives and then became absolutely ride or die for his (new) friends.

I have a feeling that the constant cycle of being reborn & being forced immediately into preparing to be the High Elder, Being the High Elder & caring out those duties, and dying as the High Elder. The cycle keeps going on and on. He probably had no TIME to indulge in normal ass things like friends or any other non-professional social life. But them he meets these 4 weirdos who treat him as just One Of The Guys and immediately comes ride or die for them.

The mask of emotionless & cold detachment comes crumbling down around his new found friends. This honestly probably punches DF in the gut because these sensations are new and wack to him, I love the idea of him being a lil unhinged and drunk on the power of friendship BUT ONLY with the HCQ. the emotional whiplash the people around him problem experience is probably so hilarious because they see him having a blast with his friends and theyre like omg is that the high elder omg i didn't think he was such a party lizard but then IMMEDIATELY goes back into his cold & collected personality the moment someone else interacts with them all. The moment he starts feeling the power of friendship he's like "am i sick? whats happening to me oh my god why does my brain feel like bees" unable to process the emotions trying to reboot his brain constantly like a fucking windows computer. we love an autistic king!

ok this was supposed to a more serious post abt DF & the actual events in the leaked story but my brain automatically thinks of HCQ shenanigans

do i need to say more about "that exceedingly arrogant craftsman" like holy Fucking Shit this is fucking gay. his emotionless detachment in battle & his quick/mostly neutral thoughts about his other friends, but with Yingxing he goes into gay annoyance/admiration mode.

I really wish that Yingxing wasn't a short-lifed species because this whole dynamic SCREAMS slow-burn to me. DF's standoff-ish behavior & genuine annoyance towards YX and his arrogance but it slowly becomes more & more endearing as the rest of the HCQ get him to come outta his "stick up his ass" shell to eventually the realization hits and becomes giddy & drunk on his overwhelmingly intense love for YX and becomes a slightly feral lizard, even in public with the HCQ And giving YX gay gay homosexual gay immortality dragon heart juice would still be a thing with YX dying in battle.

Before I end this, I'll just touch up on the more Depressing events in DH IL's story leaks:

DF's emotional detachment to others & friendly relationship with the HCQ leads him & YX to wanting to carry out some sort of "Plan" which probably involves whatever conversation DF & YX we were able to listen in on at Scalegorge Waterscape (or was DF just sneaking YX into Scalegorge Waterscape so that he could research Vidyadhara craftsman techniques?). But since these are DH's dreams even HE doesn't know whats going on.

my general thought process was: DF & YX are planning something together (making YX immortal?), weird fucking shapeshifting flesh monster is tthere?, YX telling him to commit to a decision, DF having the star & red bloodcell vision (was he glanced at by Yaoshi while trying to use the Dragon heart to make YX immortal?), Then Baiheng comes crashing into to try and stop the monster (why was she THERE?)

it doesn't make sense that Baiheng was the one DF planning to bring new life to. Since her sudden appearance is a surprise to him & YX was only described as wounded but able to protect and use his sword

since these are DH's dreams & fragmented memories. With out the other story beats, could it be possible that the "bury his old friend" and "grant them new life" were two different people? DF coming to grant YX immortality but Baiheng gets disintegrated thus DF buries a friend & give the other new life.

Were missing a lot of context here, did YX later get injured so badly that DF tries to revive him? or was the Yaoshi flesh monster completely unrelated and they HCQ were trying to stop it and beiheng fucking dies? does DF try to bring Baiheng back while having his weird ass blood and flesh vision & things go Very Wrong and YX gets caught in the crossfire, making him into the monster we know today? is that why Blade is always going on about how him & DF have to pay the price for THEIR sins? They tried to bring Baiheng back and committed the greatest taboo and they created something horrible (Baiheng abomination & Blade's immortality?)

I'm gonna try Not dwelling on the details here since we need even MORE context now. This post is getting SO long, i will leave it at that & think more about HQC domestic bliss

So originally, I made the fankids long ago when I first got into Sam and max, but I never bothered sharing them because i thought they weren’t that interesting, but I’ve developed their backstory a lot more since then:

Ace: So Ace is a fucked up cloning experiment conducted by Geek, she decided one day that she wanted to make a silly lil clone of Max to see how far her experiments could go, but that didn’t exactly go as planned. She ended up creating 507-B (B meaning that there WAS an A but y’know..A didn’t go as planned at all) whom she kept secret from everyone for a long while, that is until Max let his curiosity take over and snuck into the lab when everyone was sleeping. Max found little Ace in some sort of science-y pod thing (idk what those are called) and he immediately thought it was the cutest little guy he’d ever seen. Ace indeed did not look very adorable, he looked pretty freaky ngl. Max decided to wake Sam late at night and show him what he found, Sam was hesitant about thinking anything of the freaky little clone, but eventually Max convinced him it was also the cutest thing he’d ever seen. When Geek realized that Max discovered the experiment and told Sam all about it, she was pretty upset about it but at the same time, she was also relived that she didn’t have to overwork herself taking care of Ace anymore, Sam and Max would just take it from there. And so, experiment 507-B was eventually named Ace, like ace of spades. (kinda a Poker Night reference) Ace is just the definition of a skrunkly, he’s adorable and ugly at the same time. He loves to chew, scratch, bite, kick, throw, and attack almost anything he sees, it’s just in his nature.

Quinn: Sam and Max don’t feel like explaining how exactly Quinn came to be. She could either be biologically related, a clone, or had just poofed into existence. Whenever someone asks about it, they both just laugh and continuing talking about something else as if nothing happened. Quinn is a sabertooth dog creature who I had been drawing ever since I first got into Sam and Max, basically she’s kinda just a mini Sam. I like to imagine her and Sam hang out a lot because they have so much in common with each other, they probably go out for ice cream and leave Max with Ace at home, to which they’d probably play video games together or just have play fights with each other. (Lots of biting involved) Quinn is very serious about working as a freelance police officer when she’s older though, her and Ace end up taking over the business and they get commissioned more risky cases. Quinn’s favorite kind of cases are assassination cases, which she’ll always use her trusty sniper rifle for. (Don’t get on her bad side, that rifle is scary) Similar to Sam, Quinn has quite the appetite, but only for one specific food..desserts. Whenever any sort of sweet is involved in a case, she’ll always be tempted to take some for herself. Despite her overall serious tone about mostly everything, sweets are what really show her true self, a lovable little puppy dog who can’t resist any sort of treat.

General info about the two of them: They have quite the sibling relationship. They always pick on each other and argue, but they still really care for one another. Ace likes to support his sister in any way possible, often cheering for her whenever she takes charge in a case, which is literally every case. Quinn likes to show her support for her big brother through subtle affection, since it’s hard for her to show much affection at all. She tends to bonk him on the head, call him a harmless name (knucklehead, stupid, etc) or just give him a little head pat. Quinn also shows how much she cares for her brother by protecting him when he can’t protect himself in a dangerous situation. One can never be without the other, just like Sam and Max themselves, an Ace without a Quinn or vice versa will make both of them feel incomplete. I totally do not plan on purposely separating them for story purposes noooooooo/s

Basically its a patchwork monster kinda crechur :3 Kinda based on plushies.

Some facts!

They can make new limbs for themselves! They’ll need pattern and fabric but once it’s made they officially have a new limb!

They can come in any form or color! Perhaps a green draconian guy! Although they have to be vaguely humanoid in some way.

They have seams all along their body, if you’re wondering how they switch out limbs, thats how! They can take off certain parts of their body that have seams and replace them with a new body part. You can add even more seams too! The only thing is is that they cannot change out the part their heart is in. Have you ever been to build-a-bear where they like ask you to put your love into a little fabric heart before putting it into the plushie? Thats how they work ^^ They can’t remove the body part its in but they can change all the different body parts around it (Say it’s in their head? They can’t change their head. It’s in their chest? Can’t change their chest!)

They don’t bleed! Since they’re more like plushies, they’ll tear and have a bit of stuffing come out. While it doesn’t affect them much, it’ll affect their energy levels, like the longer its open, the more lightheaded they are. Similar to bleeding out! And they can’t heal either. They have to get patched up either with stitches or with patches of fabrics. Most prefer patches of fabric since it’s more comfortable and less chance of tearing, although really, most will replace the limb entirely.

They’re my lil skrunkly species… i’m still patching pieces together for them. But they’re lil guys!!

Avi’s HC’s: Kingsman Edition

Since I always have a shitload of silly lil ideas and HC’s bubbling in this empty bone cavern, I have decided to share them with you uninterested folks

Anyways, here are some HC’s for my bbg, James Spencer, also known as Lancelot, who had very little screentime

⁍⁍ He cannot cook. I love and adore him, but he simply cannot.

⁍⁍ Pranks. No one is safe, not even Arthur. He’s only still an agent because he is (was) so good at his job.

⁍⁍ Roxy’s uncle. The man spoils her rotten.

⁍⁍ Pure, unchained theater kid energy. He has a flair for the dramatic, and sometimes injects old-fashioned phrases into conversations.

⁍⁍ Absolutely loves dogs, never had to go through the dog test and has zero knowledge of its existence. Percival doesn’t have the heart to tell him.

⁍⁍ Prefers not to wear his glasses because “he doesn’t need them”. Also thinks that they negatively affect his “devilishly good looks.”

⁍⁍ This man is a dork and kind of a dumbass but he’s my skrunkly. My bbg. Perhaps even my funky lil guy (even though this man is much taller than my 5′1 ass.)

⁍⁍ Cares very much about his looks, one of the peacocks of the agency. On par with Harry when it comes to preening.

⁍⁍ He has the worst fashion sense out of all of the Kingsman agents, and he’s kinda extra. A few times he has almost gone on missions while wearing the most god-awful ties.

⁍⁍ Speaking of missions, he’s a bit of a wild card. He likes flashy entrances, fire, and explosions. There are a few times where he’s managed to level entire buildings somehow. 2nd major cause of poor Merlin’s hair loss.

⁍⁍ He also believes that Lee should have been Lancelot, and that he was only picked because he was the one who lived, the runner-up. Perhaps he suffers from a bit of survivor’s guilt.

⁍⁍ No matter how much he tries, he cannot/is afraid of taking things seriously. His first instinct is to joke or lighten the mood, or even dismiss what is mentioned because he is afraid. He’s so used to being the “fun” one, and just doesn’t know how to handle anything else.

⁍⁍ Very physically affectionate, in contrast to Percival. This man would give the best hugs.

⁍⁍ He’s great with kids, but sucks at babysitting because he usually goes along with shenanigans.

⁍⁍ Gets along well with Harry, and probably would’ve gotten along with Eggsy if it hadn’t been for his untimely demise.

⁍⁍ He’s like a golden retriever personified, and he hates sitting for long periods of time.

⁍⁍ He did not die, I am in complete denial, he somehow avoided death and comes back after Golden Circle. Maybe they find him while on another mission, or maybe he just shows up, I don’t know.

⁍⁍ Very, very out of the loop, but once he meets Eggsy, the two are certainly a force to be reckoned with.

⁍⁍ Tearful reunion with Roxy, who is also alive because I said so, maybe he’s a bit panicked because she almost died.

⁍⁍ A bit stunned that Arthur (Chester)  is dead, but oh well.

⁍⁍ Percilot. He’s lowkey had it bad for Percival for a while, but after he comes back boom it’s confession time, they get together, and they’re both happy.

⁍⁍ He’s so sweet with Perci and they love each other very much. Again, he’s such a dork I adore him sm.

Les Jacobs had a pretty good childhood. He was the youngest of three siblings, and was the baby of the family. He was doted on for most of his younger years. 

His family shielded and protected him from discrimination. They would take the brunt of any snide remarks sent their way, leaving Les oblivious to others’ hatred. For a while. 

With Davey as his big brother and Sarah as his big sister, he grew up with mega big brains. School, for the most part, came easy to him. He would tell his siblings what they were going to learn that week, and they’d show him how to do it. 

He got in trouble a lot for talking and fidgeting during class

It only got worse after the strike. 

Because he’d been out of school for so long he didn’t really remember how to sit still

Definitely has Gifted Kid Syndrome when he gets older. He tries so hard when he’s young, but after the strike and being around the newsies, school was kind of… boring. 

He cared less and less about schoolwork and more and more about hawking and being around the newsies. He wanted to learn less about school subjects and more about life.

Anything he wasn’t good at, he didn’t want to do. He wanted to be good at the things he did as soon as he tried them (Like hawking papes)

Les is neurodivergent 

I know everyone usually says ADHD, or something similar

But hear me out

Hyperlexia. More specifically Hyperlexia II.

There wasn’t a name for it back then, I think the name only came about less than a hundred years ago. 

Hyperlexia II occurs in children with autism. They are captivated by letters and words and numbers. 

He’s very good with dates, and loves learning new things. He loves spending time with Elmer and Davey. They can teach him math and reading, new words, new ways to see the world.

On that note, I believe Les has autism

Definitely has echolalia. He can and will repeat the phrases spoken by the people nearby. It happens most often with the newsies, which has gotten him into far more trouble than anything else

Says fuck at least once a day, just echoing Crutchie the newsies

Once they get settled back into a routine with the newsies, he refuses to let anything come between him and that routine (including, but not limited to: his mom finding out that the newsies smoked around him, Jack and Davey’s first and only fight, him asking his dad to teach him how to play poker so he could play the next time the newsies play)

Their routine, for anyone who was curious:

Davey wakes up with the first light of day. Les wakes as soon as his brother stirs

They both get up, and get ready. Socks first. Les can’t stand the feeling of the floor on his bare feet. He dresses up from there. Pants, shirt, suspenders, hat. 

Mama calls them for breakfast as soon as the sunlight touches the roof of the next building.

After breakfast, during the school year, they go to school, and during the summer they go to the Lodge.

Their shoes stay by the door. That’s the last thing he puts on before they leave. 

He stays out hawking for the same amount of time that he would’ve been in school

Afterward, they go to the theater to see Miss Medda.

Then, back to the Lodge to hang out with the newsies for a bit

The newsies fight over who gets to give him a piggyback ride

He picked Jack every time

Until he found out that Albert and Finch would run with him on their back

He picks Albert usually, because he’s easier to get on, but will pick Finch without too much fuss if Albert is busy

They get back home at dusk, doing homework by the light of the sun (or a candle once the sun had set)

Once finished with homework, they bathe, and get into bed

Has to repeatedly be told that there are certain things he can’t say certain places

He can’t speak what little Yiddish he knows in public, for fear of retaliation by the masses

He can’t say anything about the strike or the union, had to stop going to meetings and rallies because he would just talk and talk and talk to people, and would unknowingly jeopardize the entire operation

He can’t tell anyone about when he sees Davey and Jack huddled together on the fire escape, looking a little too close to be just friends

Looks up to Jack, and Jack does his best to be the role model he needed growing up. He doesn’t want Les selling papes, doesn’t want Les to be near their side of town (it’s dangerous, even with the newsies having his back), much less actually being a newsie and hawking.

Can and will fall asleep anywhere and everywhere

Is an absolute god at Clue(do). Davey and Katherine get so frustrated on game night because Les can look at the people around him, make one suggestion to get an idea of what everyone thinks, watch cards exchange hands, and make his final guess the next round.

He wins every single time

He’s terrifying when it comes to April Fools Day.

Like to the point that he isn’t allowed to pull pranks anymore

Not because anyone gets hurt

But because everyone else gets butthurt that they can’t outdo Les’s absolute EXTRAVAGANZA

Gets a lot of his self worth from others. He looks to the others for approval after he says or does anything, because if they don’t approve or think he’s doing a good job then how can he possibly think he’s doing a good job?

Trusts everyone

That being said, if someone wrecks that trust it’s next to impossible to earn it back

He can and will hold a grudge for ages

His longest streak has been six months

And it was because Sarah brought him regular taffy instead of salted taffy

He didn’t trust her to bring him candy until one day she showed up with several bags of saltwater taffy

Loves listening to the others talk about the things they like, and is really good at retaining that information

He has a vague idea of what he’s supposed to do as a good Jewish boy, but doesn’t always remember specifics

If I had to choose, (since ALL dinosaurs are so cool haha) it'd go like this:

-Stegosaurus has been my fave since I was a kid, because WOAH pretty plates and WOAH tail spikeys :0 and it still DEFINITELY holds a special place in my heart, so definitely a favorite :>

-Velociraptors have always been really cool to me, what with the pack mentality and the fact that they were smol but mighty! (و˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و I also thought the huge claw on each foot was really cool too! And then, when I finally watched the entire saga of Jurassic Park a couple years ago, they got even cooler in my eyes :>

Who are the best, and worst, and netural, south park charcters in your opinion I know randy and Gerald are the worst, and I know kyle the best,

Oh golly, so in general, huh? I guess I'll just give like 3 answers for each category with a brief explanation.

Best:

Kyle - Adorable yet stern and very assertive about what he strives in. He loves his family and friends but he also makes many mistakes and he's just baby in the most aggressive way possible. This lil cutie has committed crimes and I think some Kyle stans forget that, but I love him so much. Also, he's sassy af, and super smart but still acts like a himbo sometimes and I just adore him. (whoops I made that longer than I wanted to but he's my baby bean so it's justified :3) Cartman - Possibly one of the most interesting characters in the show in my opinion. He went from being my least fav to my new 2nd fav because of how interesting he is to talk about and also, lil skrunkly. Kenny - Not as passionate about this lil guy as I am the other two, but he is also, indeed, a lil skrunkly. Very good big brother and he's probably one of the nicest of the main 4 and probably the sanest. So yeah, good lil boy who has also committed crimes.

Neutral:

Heidi - Very interesting in s20-21 but boring and no content otherwise. Her arc was pretty good as a character but yeah, that's about it. Red - Honestly, haven't watched a lot of episodes where she or many of the girls was the focus, but uh yeah, true neutral. Kevin - Again, just not given a lot of focus for me to feel really invested in him. He is a cute lil nerd tho

Worst:

Randy - Too much screentime and annoying Cousin Kyle -SUPER god damn annoying I hate him so much Gerald - Asshole to my baby boy bean, how dare he >:( (also he made people commit suicide so)
