Since they’re taking over my brain…Twilight town gang headcanons!

Naminé and Xion used to be nearly identical (excluding their hair color), but as they’ve grown and embraced their own identities, they’ve started to look more distinguished. (Naminé is slightly taller, Xion has more of a tan from going to the beach everyday, etc.)

Naminé and Xion share a wardrobe—though Xion usually wears their casual ‘summery’ clothes and hoodies, while Naminé sticks to the flowy dresses and sweaters. Both of them borrow Roxas’ jackets all of the time. 

The three of them also have quite the collection of bracelets/rings/necklaces/anklets/etc. A lot of those are things they made—especially with seashells from the Destiny Islands.

Roxas taught Xion to skateboard and she LOVES it. 

Naminé… wasn’t up for it, but she still likes to watch them and draw outside. 

For Naminé/Roxas’ birthday, everyone got her some different art supplies to try. (Colored pencils, paint, pastels, etc.)

That was also the week of the struggle tournament, and Roxas and Xion tied in the final round. The prize was a year’s supply of ‘free ice cream’ coupons, which they’re happy to share.

Roxas, Xion, and Naminé don’t go to school (they’re too busy traveling between worlds and doing other ‘guardian of light’ tasks) but they’ll go have lunch with Hayner, Pence, and Olette to meet their school friends. 

They also get roped into helping with homework and summer jobs every now and then.

(Speaking of Pence—he and Ienzo stayed online friends after KH3. They talk on the Gummiphone and geek out over computer things. Since Radiant Garden is more technologically advanced than Twilight Town, Pence gets to learn a lot.)

They keep tabs with the other guardians via a group chat they’re all in. It very quickly turned into sharing funny photos and videos of each other though, so Mickey and Aqua had them create a separate chat for the less serious things.  

To get to other worlds, they’ll either have someone pick them up in the Gummiship, or take the ‘ghost’ train. (No dark corridors!)

They kept their organization coats just in case, but they’re tucked away out of sight.  

Naminé went to Radiant Garden to visit Kairi and draw her memories while she slept. Those visits also opened the door for her to talk to Ansem the Wise and receive his apology. 

Roxas is a little torn—he’s grateful to everyone who helped him come back, but not ready to have that conversation yet.

Lea and Isa are their guardians/trusted adults, but Lea is really their best friend first and foremost. I assume they all live together or nearby each other. 

Lea wasn’t joking about the whole Keyblade master thing. He’s actually still training with Merlin, Mickey, Aqua and Kairi, etc. Roxas and Xion will tag along, but just to keep their skills sharp. 

Aqua doesn’t mind training Roxas and Xion, but she’s not the biggest fan of training Lea. (Though maybe he’s growing on her a little…?)

Aqua is also the only one who can always tell Roxas and Ven apart—even when they swap outfits!

Naminé will also go to the Land of Departure—not to train, but because she’s friends with Terra and likes to visit Kairi. 

Xion’s replica powers are fading—she can’t copy weapons anymore, but she’s gaining more unique Keyblades and abilities in exchange.

clothing headcanon number two because I wanted to say this for a while: BY THE WAY, everyone should know that my choices for Modern Emma's wardrobe are not casual at all: The Emma who raised herself in the streets, no parents, constantly betrayed and abandoned, is seen wearing little floreal dresses when she still has hope (at least when she has a chance to steal those and not wear whatever she finds in the home she's kept), but then goes for hardass leather jackets to remind herself of yet another trauma involving a woman who wore one, and at work she uses tight sexy dresses as a mask to attract marks, while in her everyday life she alternates leather jackets to semi-transparent shirts and still very feminine things. Once she starts opening up, she's seen wearing more delicate things too, like she's not afraid to look softer.

So my modern Emma, raised with all the love and confidence of the world by supportive parents but who got broken by her abusive romantic partner as a kid? She's wearing the short sexy dresses one day, just because it makes her feel good, and cute floreal dresses the next because she likes being pretty. At work or when she needs to run and a skirt won't do it? Leather, leather, leather, but also jeans, comfy things, she's got nothing to prove but also needs to protect herself, physically and metaphorically, with harder fabric. Still taking great care of her hair, she doesn't need to hide behind a mask much and she feels a lot more free to try new things but on a date-date? She'd be waiting for the chance to wear something romantic and soft, and not be afraid of being disarmed, something that clearly she shares with her canon counterpart. But in the meanwhile she tries to show off not only because confident, but because, well, what else can she offer?

which Volturi members take the longest to get ready? I imagine Heidi to be one of them? <3

This is the age old question with Smeyer's vampires. How much of their beauty is natural? and do they add to that in some way? I imagine that they do. The method of adorning ourselves is a tale as old as time, it has always meant a great deal to people. The way you look says a lot about a person wether we like it or not. I do believe that the Volturi in general put an emphasis on always looking presentable, they have a whole cloak system after all. Here are a list of Volturi members I think put extra effort into their appearance:

𝐀𝐫𝐨 I have mentioned before how I see this man as a hoarder and a crow. He loves expensive fabrics, gold and gems. He can make the most outrageous of combinations somehow work. Takes a lot of time getting ready if its a special occasion. I imagine that his everyday wardrobe is a bit more toned down, but there is still some gold trimmings and jewels there to make it fun.

𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚 Listen, I envision Aro and Sulpicia as this power couple. You see them on the street at you just stop and stare for a while. Sulpicia may not be as much of a crow like Aro, but she loves to be dripping in gold and diamonds. Much like her husband does she spend a lot of time to get ready before any special event. On a casual day I imagine her in some kind of beautiful flowy dress, very old Hollywood glamour.

𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐝𝐢 This woman has perfected the art of looking travel-chic, Heidi is out and about bringing in humans for The Volturi to feast upon so that's important. She has a well planned wardrobe where everything goes together. Because of that she might not spend a long time getting ready for the day. Heidi always wears red lipstick, its her signature and she almost feels naked without it. Loves to do fun things with her long hair as well.

𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢 The Volturi's resident fashionista if they ever had one. Only other vampire that could outshine him is probably Aro on a good day. The thing with Demetri is that he is willing to experiment, and doesn't feel confined to a single aesthetic. He also thinks gender-specific clothes is a modern tragedy. If it looks good on him he will wear it. Somehow has mastered looking comfortable and put together, he is out on the run a lot and needs his movement to not be impaired.

𝐂𝐚𝐢𝐮𝐬 Might come as a surprise to some that I have put this no nonsense straight to the point king on this list. But in my personal headcanons I believe that he was left visibly scarred and with his white-blonde hair after the werewolf attack (I will get into this more in my upcoming sequel to one of my one-shots). He feels a bit insecure about his not so perfect vampire appearance now so he spends a good amount of time for both his clothes and hair too look just the way he wants. He has this air of business but with a hint of edge to the way he dresses.

I could talk about fashion and how these vamps look for days, makes me itch to make moodboards.

Never before in your life had you ever experienced such fear. Although the warm sun streamed down in rays, creating a happy scene, you were somewhere else. A place where nothing else mattered except for your daughter. Nerves, anticipation, and dread flooded your veins. Any parent would feel this way, especially under these circumstances. A majority of the time, you wouldn’t consider yourself a “helicopter parent,” even though Bucky and Sam would say otherwise. Now, was an exception because your four year old daughter was learning to roller skate in the cul-de-sac where her grandparents currently reside. Her little hand was interlaced with her father’s and the 6’2 man crouched down to be a bit shorter. He was anything but an expert in this field and that made you even more nervous as he’d occasionally slip. Before you could say anything to him, he’d just put a hand out, signaling that everything was okay, and you’d be left to bite down on your lip, silently channeling your fear. 

From the looks of it, one would think you weren’t trusting of your husband and while that wasn’t the whole truth, you just knew he wasn’t the most...graceful and elegant human on planet earth. Rather he was the type of guy to fall and literally laugh it off. That was fine for him, but if your daughter fell on this rocky pavement, well, you’d both have another coming. Or at least that’s what you had assumed. 

Sarah’s giggles echoed and you could hear your parents’ shouts of encouragement from the house. You were standing on the end of the driveway, eyes glued to the giant man and the tiny girl, happily skating around. After a few minutes, Sarah finally found her footing, so to say, and was actually skating without Steve’s support.

Finally, you dropped your shoulders and let out a sigh of relief at the two enjoying themselves. It was all going fine until Sarah was turning, like she had done so many times before, but this time happened to catch a rock under a wheel on her right skate.

 In your mind, it all happened in slow motion, making your feet stay grounded, yet your conscience was “running” to her. Steve’s face looked absolutely mortified and he dropped to his knees, ignoring the pain from the harsh contact, he immediately scooped up the girl. 

For a moment, her lip quivered and Steve continued to soothingly stroke her hair, gazing into her watering eyes. Just when you thought the dam would break, Sarah swallowed her sobs, shook it all off, and stood from her father’s lap. She even held out a hand to help him up and he looked very shocked. Even more shocked than when you told him you were going into labor, which was quite the experience, one you preferred to not re-live. 

Eventually, you joined the two and up close you could see that Steve had a single tear running down his face. You knew his worst fear was failing his daughter, he had told you so many years ago. Sarah noticed Steve’s sorrow and she got down once more to sit back on her heels. With gentle movement, Sarah wrapped her arms around the man’s broad shoulders and pulled him into the most lovable hug you’ve seen in ages. 

“It’s okay, Daddy. Please don’t cry! See I’m just as brave as you!” 

Your daughter then laid her head on his shoulder, the two of them in their own little world as usual. You hated to break them up, but they were currently sitting in the middle of the road and you’d rather not get hit by a car. Softly, you tapped Steve’s shoulder and he slowly rose up, Sarah in his arms and tired from the scare as well. The three of you made your way back up the driveway and into the house where your mother met you with the same nervous look you had once wore. Once a nurse, always a nurse, for she had a first aid kit in hand. You quickly reassured her and followed Steve back to your rooms. 

Summer in New York City wasn’t that much enjoyable, so ever since Sarah had been born, you and Steve come in July to stay at your parents house. Today was Fourth of July and you helped your parents with their annual barbeque. That went well and then the whole roller skating incident happened and now here you were. It was 3 in the afternoon and since it was Steve’s birthday, you had some surprise plans for him later. He was unaware and had assumed you had forgotten his birthday, which you had not. 

An hour later, you found Sarah in the pool with your parents while Steve sat on one of the lounge chairs, only khaki swim trunks on. You could tell he’d been out of the pool for a while as his hair was starting to look a bit fluffy. Steve’s eyebrows were furrowed in concentration and in his lap you could see a sketch that he was tediously working on. Your daughter was too busy playing pool volleyball with her grandparents, that the three were yet to notice your presence. Deciding to take matters into your own hands, you strutted over to Steve and sat on the edge of his seat where you gently tapped his leg to gain his attention. 

“Whatcha working on, Grant?”

Steve peered up at you, his smile possibly even brighter than the sun that reflected on you both. He silently passed off the sketchbook to you. The sketch depicted the scene happening before your eyes, your parents bonding with Sarah, all of them wearing large grins and laughter. It was the kind of picture that could lift someone's mood in an instant, all because Steve was the best at portraying emotions in his artwork. 

“So, birthday boy, I have some plans for you… that is if you are still up to it.” You motioned to his current laid back state and Steve looked down at himself to see what you meant. He was curious as to what you had planned, having told you not to plan anything for his birthday. 

“Oh honey, I told you not to do anything.” Steve looked at you disapprovingly, his sunglasses now pulled down so you could feel the full effect of his “glaring.” 

“It’s not everyday that a wife gets to celebrate her husband’s...” Pausing, you did some quick mental math (that may have not been accurate) and came to an answer, “102nd birthday!” 

At that, Steve lurched forward and pulled you onto his lap, placing a kiss on your temple as his arms tightly wrapped around your waist. 

“You spoil me too much, doll.” A simple hum was your only reply and you leaned back into his embrace.

About an hour later, both you and Steve got quick showers and tidied up a bit. The only thing Steve had heard about where you were taking him, was that it wasn’t too fancy as you told him to dress casual. As Steve got ready, you asked Sarah if she wanted to come along, but instead she decided to stay back and make some cookies with your mom. 

The two of you then met at the front door where you kissed Sarah goodbye and headed off to the car. Just as Steve was about to get in the driver’s seat, you stole the keys from his grasp and gave him a small “tsk tsk” causing the man to laugh. Earlier, while Steve had gotten dressed, you had been able to sneak out and put a prepared picnic basket in the trunk of the car along with a large blanket. For Steve’s birthday, you were taking him to see fireworks at a nearby park. You knew how much of a sucker he was for fireworks and a good, old fashioned, park picnic. 

As you pulled into the entrance of the park and globs of people sat out on the field, Steve’s eyes started to sparkle with excitement and you couldn't help but grin at him. 

“Babe, is this what I think it is?”

You put the car in park and turned in your seat to fully face Steve, “If you’re thinking fireworks and a picnic, then you’re right. I’m sorry it’s not a lot, but I know how much you-” 

Before you could finish your unnecessary apology, Steve sweetly grabbed your face and pulled you in for an enchanting kiss. 

“It’s perfect, (y/n).” 

Steve’s face softened into a loving look and his azure eyes looked the slightest bit shiny in the moonlight. 

You parted away from the man and exited the car, heading to the trunk where Steve met you. He helped carry the picnic basket despite your pleas for him to not do so. 

The park wasn't too crowded, but there were just enough people for you and Steve to have to search around for a good ten minutes. Eventually you spotted this place under a tree that wasn’t too surrounded and had a perfect view of where the fireworks would be. 

Swiftly, you laid out the plaid picnic blanket and Steve then set down the picnic basket that was filled with the components of your dinner. You began to set out the prepared food, even bringing out a candle, albeit fake, that provided some romantic and not overwhelming lighting.

Since you both had arrived twenty minutes before the show started, it allowed for you and Steve to enjoy the dinner peacefully. You had even packed some desserts but those would be for during the show as a little something to snack on.

Just as the show started, you had finished packing away the last of the Tupperware containers and now settled in between Steve's legs, his chest providing use as a pillow. The man delicately rested his chin on your shoulder and in return, you lovingly rubbed his forearms that laid in your lap.

“Thank you for the best birthday, my love. You’ve given me so much over these past few years and I swear I don’t know what I’d be without you.” 

It was a whisper in your ear, but you still heard it over the loud crackling of the fireworks. 

With a warm smile and quiet giggle, you brought his hand to your lips and placed a kiss on the back of his hand.

“Only you could pull off such a cheesy line, Rogers.”

Fashion Headcanon

the fashion hc that no one asked for... (think college age)

Aang

Aang is all about comfort mixed with practicality and a hint of fashion/trendiness

Most days you’ll find him in athletic shorts or sweatpants in neutral tones like gray or white, with a plain tee

He also lives in his yellow high tops that are more dirt than yellow at this point. They’re super worn in and comfortable for him now, but it’s unusual to see him without them

But when he needs to dress up for events or dates or whatever, he likes to look nice but still casual

His idea of dressing up would be khaki pants (maybe joggers for casual dates) with a white button down/polo

One time he showed up to an event in his yellow converse so Katara got him some nice brown dress boots so he has /options/

You’ll also never find him in any cool tones, he loves warm colors (yellows, oranges, reds)

He’s overall a pretty happy and chill guy and that reflects in his clothing but he still has a grasp on what is acceptable in certain situations and definitely dresses appropriately

For the most part he just looks really snuggly and soft

Katara

Katara also really values comfort but she takes a little more pride in her appearance

For everyday wear she’ll usually wear jeans of some kind (usually distressed and mom style) but she’ll still look put together

If she’s wearing her blue jeans, she’ll pair them with a loose band tee that’s either cropped, tied in the front, or tucked in precisely (she loves showing the waist of her pants)

If she’s wearing black/white jeans, she’ll wear a blue shirt. She prefers navy and darker tones of blue but she has a quite a few in pastel as well

Sometimes the shirts are just tshirts, but sometimes they’re a little tighter and trendier to help her dress up the outfit

For the most part she lives in her doc martens, and she finds them to be both practical and adorable

However for fancier events she pops off

She’ll dress up in satin dresses that are navy and fall just below her knee or will wear white corduroy skirts with cute flowy tops

She has platform sneakers for when it’s not too fancy but she also has a lot of heels and sandals in neutral colors

Even though Katara does like to look good, because it makes her feel good, she isn’t too overly worried about her appearance

However in most people’s eyes, she never looks bad and walks with an effortless beauty that makes all her outfits look great

Sokka

Sokka lives for practical clothing

He wears basketball shorts almost every day (unless it’s cold and then he wears sweatpants) with a  hoodie or plain tee

While he’s not out naked, he definitely doesn’t really put that much effort into his day to day look

But honestly he doesn’t really need to because Sokka is a hottie who wows everyone he meets

But he also works out a lot and works with his hands, so practical clothing is generally the only thing he thinks is appropriate

When he’s working on something a little more hands on, he’ll wear denim to protect his skin and he doesn’t really care if they get ruined, because they’re his work pants

However when he dresses up… he is a stunner

He’ll wear form fitting pants that show off his toned thighs and butt. They’ll usually be either dark blue or black dress pants

He pairs that with a usually white (occasionally a lighter blue or black) dress shirt that is typically rolled up to his elbows but that’s good because his forearms

Despite the fact that he usually wears sneakers or boots every day, his shoe collection is pretty impressive because he’s a prepared man. So he wears nicer polo shoes or low cut brown boots to pull together the look

People never really expect Sokka to look as fine as he does at those events, because they’re used to seeing him very casual and comfy

But even though people think Sokka doesn’t care about his appearance, he does… he just doesn’t like to waste time on work/school days when he could sleep a little more

But when he can actually get dressed up, he kinda lives for it

For the most part, Sokka dresses how he pleases and doesn’t let others tell him what to do with himself

But he’s comfortable in his style and in his skin which makes him confident

Toph

Toph grew up with overbearing parents who dictated how she dressed, and so when she began to live on her own she really wanted to explore other styles and options

For a while she experimented with casual fancy styles like sundresses and skirts and such. And honestly she really likes them and thinks they’re cute, but not for day to day

She then evolved into more of a skater, tomboy look which she really rocks

She has a wide range of jean, khaki, and athletic shorts that she pairs with simple shirts

Her shirts are usually band tees, or plain colors and she really likes earth tones

She has likes oversized outerwear, like big flannels, hoodies, or bombers that kind of swallow her frame

She prefers shorts but when she wears pants, it’s usually sweatpants or yoga pants. She doesn’t like her bottoms to be too tight and restricting because she likes to have full range of motion, so if they’re tight they have to be stretchy

Also she kicks the bottom of all her shoes out so she can see (yes bending exists here and she’s blind bc I say so), but she mainly wears canvas sneakers like vans or low converses

Because she experimented early on with her outfits, when she has to dress up she really likes casual sundresses

Sometimes she’ll wear a jean skirt, but none of her dresses or skirts will be tight

She’s not necessarily trying to hid her body/curves but she’s just so much more comfortable in loose/flowy clothing and it still looks really good on her

Even at fancier events, she’ll wear sneakers because sandals don’t really work without bottoms and heels are a fat no

She has “nicer” sneakers that she keeps clean for those events but for the most part she has an excuse and a comeback to anyone who tries to diss her shoes

Like Sokka, she’s pretty comfortable in her clothing and doesn’t put too much effort into it

However, because of all the years she spent with her parents where she had zero options, it isn’t uncommon to see Toph trying the newest trends as soon as they come out, to see if she vibes with them or not

Zuko

Like Toph, Zuko was also forced to dress in a certain way due to his familial upbringing

In contrast though, he found a way to express himself through his clothes while still fitting into the expectations placed on him

Zuko lives in dark clothes. The only sense of color he has are dark red shirts/hoodies, one pair of grey sweatpants, and a deep navy shirt he stole from Sokka

Everything else is black

But that doesn’t mean they’re all boring and the same

A lot of his clothing has small details woven into the seams which shows that Zuko puts a lot of effort into the clothing he puts on

He mostly wears black jeans but he has a huge range of styles including skinny, distressed, boyfriend, baggy, and straight legged

He tends to focus on the bottom half more, styling his outfit around his pants and then pairing a simple tee

Kinda imagine an eboy vibe but more chill

He wears converses, vans, or other flat sneakers for the most part

When he needs to dress up, he still sticks to dark tones

His go to is black dress pants that are pretty tight and either a black or red button up

He has a few suits from growing up but he loathes them with a passion and prefers to look casual when dressing up

Zuko likes to put effort into his appearance because it helps channel his energy and he thinks that if he looks presentable, people will be less likely to judge him on his past or his scar

He gets pretty self-conscious and insecure when he tries new things, and it’ll take him a while to expand his closet into other styles

He’s comfortable with his look and he isn’t too keen on trying new things but he isn’t completely opposed

Suki

Suki, much like Katara, has this look of effortless beauty

However for her, she does put effort into her outfit pretty much everyday

She also wears earth tones for the most part, but her closet does have a large variety

On the day to day she’ll wear skinny jeans, yoga pants, or athletic shorts with a cute top

Though her clothes aren’t that fancy, she matches them all really well and her makeup is always impeccable

Her top selection is bigger and is made up of mostly cropped tees and tighter crop tops

However, her guilty pleasure is large sweaters and hoodies that she’s stolen from her guy friends and it’s pretty common to find her styling those with jeans and cute shoes

She also has a pair of red high tops, that much like Aang, she has worn down to the point where they’re more dirt than anything

And while she doesn’t wear them every day, they’re definitely a staple in her closet

But suki honestly lives for platform sneakers, they don’t have to be super tall but anything that gives her a little lift makes her that much more confident

When she dresses up, she shares a lot of the same styles with Toph

She really likes sundresses with sneakers, or rompers with sandals

However when she really has to get fancy, she’ll wear longer dresses that fall below her knee or all the way to the floor with a pair of heels and she’ll be feeling herself

Suki is overall pretty adventurous with her outfits, but she also knows what she likes

She’ll try the new trends and take suggestions from her friends, but she’s also not scared to say no and go comfy yet put together for a day

She’s one of those girls that kinda looks great in everything and people really wish they had her closet but half the time she’s borrowing things from friends to piece together outfits

Yue

Yue loves clothes

Simple as that

She grew up with money, but without the overbearing parents and she’s always had an affinity for dressing up and following the new trends as well as the older ones

She finds that waking up and making herself look good, gets her ready for the day and helps put her into the right headspace

She also lives for light pastels, typically of the cooler hues but sometimes she’ll venture into the pinks and reds

On the day to day she’ll wear either light blue or white bottoms (you name it: skirts, shorts, pants, whatever) and a plain shirt

A lot of her clothing has lace on it, it’s just something that Yue really likes

And all the light colors look amazing against her dark skin

She wears chunky sneakers or flats mostly, because they’re cute but also comfortable to walk in

She also usually has an accessory, whether it be a purse, sunglasses, or a cute bandana, she likes to add little things that pull her outfit together

She definitely looks better than most on the day to day because she really enjoys looking nice

However she still has the skill of not looking overdressed

When she dresses up, she looks ethereal

Like Katara, she likes satin and silk a lot because it’s comfy and soft and often falls effortlessly

She tends to wear dresses that are just at her knee or are tea length, and doesn’t really like floor length dresses

The only really short stuff she wears are her skirts and shorts

She also really likes heels when she’s dressing up, and a slit in her dress to show off her legs

She’s super confident in her style and definitely loves finding inspiration from her friends, strangers, magazines and wherever she can find it

She also always looks amazing, even when she is dressed casually

Azula

Surprisingly, Azula isn’t really that flamboyant with her style

She likes simple looks like jeans and tshirts or a simple dress

She, like Zuko, wears darker colors but has a plethora of pink in her wardrobe because of TyLee

On the day to day she’s often wearing simple black jeans, a band tee or just a hoodie with doc martens

People find it surprising because Azula comes across as a big personality, and she definitely is around her friends, but she just isn’t that interested in fashion

She prefers to focus her energy and time on self-care like her nails, hair, and skin

Both Mai and TyLee are into fashion so Azula does let them dress her up and down for fun, but for the most part she’s pretty simple

For dressing up, she’s very simple

She’ll wear either a black or red dress, usually that falls just above or just below her knee

She likes a straight neckline but has few options (strapless, halter, etc)

And she’ll pair the dress with a simple black heel, not too many straps

She does like tall heels, it helps with her confidence, but they aren’t very flashy

Despite her basic style, she does understand the importance of looking presentable and doesn’t usually wear baggy clothing

She’s found a pretty good balance between casual, basic, but still presentable

basically she doesn’t need a boisterous closet because she is very talkative and loud with her friends, so she doesn’t feel the need to overcompensate with her clothing or anything

Mai

in complete opposite to Azula, Mai LOVES showing her personality through her clothes

she isn’t very talkative and instead likes to show her mood with her outfits

though she does wear dark colors, she’ll experiment with others

when she’s feeling sad, she covers up. She likes long sleeves, even if they are mesh or transparent, and long jeans with boots

She’s a slut for peasant sleeves (but I mean… me too)

when she’s happy, she’ll wear red or pink. She’ll stick with either jeans or a jean skirt that’s dark but she’ll pair it with a baggy dusty pink or vibrant red shirt that she tucks in. she’ll also wear trendier sneakers on those days (but they’ll probably still be boots)

when’s she’s feeling really good or adventurous she’ll dress more colorful. The style itself is pretty basic: jeans and a shirt, but she’ll wear her blue mom jeans. She’ll pair it with her purple doc martens and a white shirt with a different colored jacket

however it’s the days that she wears sweats, leggings and hoodies that she receives the most attention. The attention is always from her friends because on those days, she’s either feeling very comfortable in her surroundings and they want to talk to her, or she’s had a shit day and they want to help her feel better

when dressing up, she likes to wear black with fun accents like buckles or ribbons or fun sleeves or zippers or lace or anything like that

she’s pretty tall, so she doesn’t often wear heels but she’ll wear fishnet tights and tuck them into some boots or she’ll wear flats

she does tend to wear clothes that are tighter and then pair them with baggy outerwear to offset the outfit

she does wear a lot of boots but she has them in a bunch of different colors for every emotion and outfit

people are pretty envious of her wardrobe and while she doesn’t really talk and isn’t that confident in herself, she’s always been sure of her style

she also really enjoys dressing her friends up and swapping styles to try to make new outfits

TyLee

TyLee also loves clothes

she’s pretty girly and used clothing from an early age to set herself apart from not only her sisters but also from society

in today’s terms she’d be a soft girl with a hint of vsco

there’s a lot of pinks, reds, purples, whites, and other pastels in her wardrobe

she tries to avoid dark tones because she thinks they wash her out

she’s also very bubbly and upbeat for the most part and likes to convey that in her outfits

she wears a lot of tennis skirts, plaid skirts, paper bag shorts, and other stuff that kinda looks like it came from a teen movie

she doesn’t really like pants but if she does wear them, they’ll be loose and typically have a paper bag waistline

and they’ll definitely be high waisted no matter what

her tops are typically crop top tanks or fuzzy sweaters that are just a tad too big

she also really likes to wear long cardigans and sweaters that fall below her hemline

every day she wears a white shoe

they’ll either be chunky sneakers, vans, sandals, high tops, or something else but they’ll definitely be white

people really don’t know how she keeps them clean

when she dresses up, she’ll wear tighter clothes but then offset them with a long or bigger jacket and sneakers

she hates heels

she thinks they are so uncomfortable and prefers sneakers or sandals

TyLee does like trying new stuff but she’s also really comfortable with her current style and isn’t that interested in trying a whole ton of new stuff

she also really likes dressing other people up, both in her own style and in theirs

she’s pretty confident in her clothes but her insecurities definitely bleed through sometimes, but she always tries to be happy no matter what and that definitely comes through in her clothes

Headcanons / Reactions: BTS and matching couple things

This was just something random I thought was cute. 

I initially planned to write it as a reaction but the ideas flowed out better in headcanon / bullet form, so here you go!

You’d been spending a lot of time in Namjoon’s studio lately

You took it as a chance just to be together in the same place, even when he was working

For a long while it was just you sitting there and reading while he did his thing

But gradually, he started asking your opinion on things

He’d have you listen to things and give your thoughts

He came to really value your opinion, telling you you had a good instinct for that sort of thing

You loved that you could be helpful to him for something beyond bringing food when he was busy

Of course, you were his most important emotional support as well

But his valuing your ideas when it came to his work meant a lot to you

You arrived at his studio one day when he was in the bathroom, so it was empty

Next to his headphones sat a new pair, a little different from his, with gold-tone accents on it, making them prettier too

Then you noticed the key detail

They had your initials on them

It felt like his way of saying, “you’re part of this now too”, and you felt yourself getting teary-eyed

He walked back in the room a minute later only for you to pull him into a hug, grinning widely

He laughed a little at your enthusiasm but held you tightly, giving your forehead a quick kiss before saying it was time to work

He sat down in his chair and gestured to the seat next to him

Jin

Jin got a little carried away sometimes

When the combination of matching couple stuff and his pride and joy RJ presented itself it was too much to resist

If he hadn’t looked so adorably excited when showing you what he’d gotten you definitely would’ve laughed

He had no joke ordered you matching RJ-print underwear

You were kind of simultaneously endeared and horrified

Then again you knew that you were in love with an actual crazy person so you shouldn’t have been shocked

So because Jin was too adorable to say no to when it came to silly things like this you went along with it

Plus you weren’t counting on anyone ever seeing the aforementioned embarrassing matching underwear

But you should’ve known there was no way the boys weren’t gonna find out and tease you both relentlessly about it

You slept over one night and ended up wearing the matching underwear

It was a warm night so you just wore the underwear and one of Jin’s t-shirts

By morning you’d both pushed all the covers off yourselves because of getting too hot in the night

It was still early so you were both fast asleep, you laying face down with your head on Jin’s chest

And, just your luck, Jimin had some question to ask Jin and came into the room without knocking

He froze when he realized you’d slept over so Jin wasn’t alone, thinking he probably SHOULD have knocked

All those thoughts went out the window when he realized that you two were wearing MATCHING RJ UNDERWEAR

It was everything Jimin could do to hold in his laughs but since he hadn’t woken the pair of you, he ran to get the guys

So that is how the other 6 boys ended up in the doorway trying not to laugh loud enough to wake you

I’m not sure I’ve you’ve noticed but they’re not particularly quiet so naturally they ended up waking Jin with their snickering

When he realized what was going on he hopped out of bed and shooed the boys away

Right before he shut the door he yell-whispered “You are so lucky she’s a heavy sleeper!”

And, predictably, neither you nor Jin EVER heard the end of it from the guys, who thought it was HILARIOUS

Yoongi

It was yours and Yoongi’s 2nd anniversary and you were about to depart for a rare weekend away

You’d been hearing about all the cute matching couple stuff that had being going on with the other members

You didn’t even think about matching things for you and Yoongi, knowing he would never agree to it

Sure he was a sweet marshmallow on the inside but the man was a straight up tsundere

So you didn’t even mention the matching thing to him

But Yoongi was incredibly observant, noticing far more than most realized

In this case, he noticed even more than YOU had realized

He’d seen the spark of amusement in your eyes when the matching concept came up in conversation

If nothing else, he thought, you found it to be entertaining

He decided to surprise you with some matching couple items, but he was going to do it his way

As soon as you were settled in your seats on the plane, he silently pulled his surprise out of the bag

They were matching eye masks for sleep

You told him how cute it was, only for him to insist that they were just a practical item for travel

You knew, and he knew that you knew, that it had been an intentional gesture of love

You didn’t push it, just enjoyed his surprising you

The pair of you fell asleep on the plane holding hands, both happily wearing your matching eye masks

Hoseok

Hoseok wasn’t really the “spends his days writing you sonnets and dedicating monuments to his love for you” romantic

That didn’t mean he didn’t really, really love you

Instead of constant words of affection he would give you little surprises

Sometimes they were small gifts, other times cute dates or even just showing up at your door with pizza for an impromptu movie night

You never for a minute had to doubt how he felt about you

He really was the sunshine in your life

It was early fall just when the weather was beginning to cool off

When you were hanging out with the boys for game night at their dorm, Hobi gave you one of his small surprises

He told you that half of the present was actually for him, which made you incredibly skeptical as to what that would mean

You pulled one hoodie out of the bag, then another

There were matching hoodies for the two of you

His said “her hope” on the back while yours said “his angel”

It seemed silly to cry over a hoodie but it really was just the sweetest present

Of course you later had an abundance of photos of the two of you from behind, holding hands while wearing your hoodies

It was kind of cheesy, really

But you loved the way it so simply told you (and everyone else) that you and Hobi belonged to each other

Jimin

Jimin wanted to give you something special for your anniversary

The whole “matching couple stuff” concept was really appealing to him

It was a small sign that you were his and he was yours, and it was there for all to see

He loved that idea, so he set out to find something that you’d like

It took him a long time to think of something that wasn’t just too generic

That is, until he thought about things you always said to each other

There were lots of little sayings and inside jokes between you, but one stood out in particular for this purpose

The two of you were always saying that he was your king and you were his queen

You both knew that was pretty cheesy but you kinda loved that

Jimin found matching rings that were crown-shaped, just enough to be obvious without looking tacky

They were actually really beautiful and he hoped you’d like it

Well, you LOVED it

Exactly as Jimin had hoped, the two of you got questions about them whenever you were apart

Not that you could ever forget each other in the first place, but it was a little reminder of your love in your everyday lives

Taehyung

Taehyung was telling you the hilarious story about the matching RJ underwear

You thought it was funny but you also defended the concept a little, saying it was kinda cute that they matched

The conversation moved on from there and you thought Tae had just forgotten about it, but noooo

Your casual comment about the matching being cute had gotten the little wheels turning in his head

Being, well, himself, he ended up taking the concept to a whole other level

He took the idea of matching and did it in the most sophisticated way possible

Next time the boys had some award show to go to, to which you were accompanying Tae, you were in for a surprise

Your dress was custom and in the most gorgeous patterned silky fabric

You were shocked when Taehyung showed you the lining of his jacket

It was the exact. same. fabric.

So he HAD been listening to you finding the matching idea cute

If that wasn’t enough, he had also gotten a little bowtie collar made for Tannie in the same fabric

You thought it was ADORABLE but were a little confused as to why, since Tan obviously wasn’t coming to the event

Well, your totally extra boyfriend had planned to have a photographer do family pictures of the three of you before you left

It was really quite sweet

It also taught you to be VERY careful what you said you liked around Tae, because he definitely remembered

Jungkook

It was your birthday

As long as you’d known him Jungkook had always been great at picking out meaningful gifts for the people in his life

You would’ve been happy just spending the day with him, honestly

But Jungkook was ridiculously in love with you, and also, as you were all too aware by now, very sentimental

He wanted to do something special

When you opened the gift you almost cried

He had drawn the two of you in a cartoonish style

The drawing itself was absolutely adorable

He’d also had it put on the back of a phone case for you.

He smiled at your reaction and held up his own phone, which had an identical case, saying “now we match!”

It probably was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for you

As much as you teased him for being sappy at times, you loved that about him

You loved everything about him really

as you know miss edith’s concept of winter attire is just. the same as her fall/spring attire but with sleeves? so she's gonna be cold at all times but won't admit it. so there WILL be a lot of 'banter' about that, which basically means adam is constantly scolding her and then begging her to dress accordingly to the weather because a leather jacket is not suitable for a snowstorm, detective!

incidentally, a lot of adam grumpily giving her his jacket. when possible he even brings an extra jacket because he knows what's up.

- crying is a really good way to let your emotions out and it always worked out for you

- whenever it's all too much you make yourself cry to feel better afterward

- one day, once you finished crying your phone rang

- it's from Neha, she's inviting you to her room

- oh boy.

- when you moved into the dorms Karolina did say that the previous owner of the room would put loud music on and they would hear it

- 'did Neha hear me cry?' God you hope not

- When you knock, the door immediately opens as if Neha was right in front of it waiting for you

- She pulls you in and starts taking your measurements

- "I've decided to use you as my model for my next outfit."

- "W-what?!?"

- now you're almost sure that she did hear you, or else why would she make an outfit just for you when she's got Karolina?

- She's rambling and rambling, you've probably never heard her talk this much

- "Basically... when you're sad come over. Or ask me to come over, whatever. Our rooms are right next to eachother so whether you cry in your room or here I'll hear you anyway so you might as well be with me."

- this was maybe not the best way to phrase it, but you got the feeling she was going for and that's all that matters

Raquel

- Noticed that you weren't feeling good right away

- but more in a "are you catching a cold?" kinda way

- but it didn't have anything to do with your health

- You actually wanted to explain what happend as soon as it did but when you tried to, tears came down immediately from the very first sentence

- Raquel grabbed you by the shoulders

- "It's okay! You can tell me later if it's too hard."

- The next day when you were getting ready to go to school Raquel came to your room dressed in casual clothes

- "Hey Y/N! Let's skip today."

- You tell her that you can't because you're a scholarship student and all but she ends up convincing you anyway

- "It's all fine, it's just for one day! Everyone thinks that you're a really hard-working, punctual and honest person! They'll believe whatever you say."

- "Raquel... I am a hard-working, punctual and honest person..."

- "Exactly! And that's why you can take advantage of that and no one will doubt you."

- You spent the whole day just walking around town in different fast foods, parks, and shops

- everytime you wanted to buy something Raquel would try to buy it for you

- You refused everything except the food, she was being extremely pushy about paying for the food

- on the way back you decide to tell her about your troubles again, this time hopefully you won't burst into tears

- She's incredibly understanding and doesn't let you downplay your feelings

- anytime you say "it may sound stupid"/"maybe I'm being too emotional" she's like

- "No! Fuck that! There's a reason why you feel this way and it's not dumb."

- You get a little bit teary eyed and before you can even think about crying Raquel hugs you

- then she whispers in your ear

- "Did it hurt?"

- "Uh... what?"

- At first you thought she meant your feelings because obviously it did hurt, you just spent like 20 minutes explaining what had happened

- but then you understood

- is she seriously trying to cheer you up with pick-up lines?

- "So did it hurt or did it not?"

- "You mean, when I fell from heaven?"

- She makes the biggest grin before replying

- "No, when you fell for me."

- You're trying your best not to burst into laughter

- "Nah, not really. It was a quick fall."

- Oh no, you outsmarted her lame pick-up line

- you guys end the day with the most stupid pick-up line fight

- little do you know that Raquel will shoot a ball in the face of a certain someone for hurting you

- maybe multiple times if she feels like it

Tadashi

- To be honest he didn't really notice at first

- maybe it was one of your "bad days", Tadashi knows what it's like so he totally gets it

- but then when it's been 3 days in a row and you're still in that state?

- he cancels all of his work and assignements for the day

- calls you over in such a professional manner that it's kinda scary

- he literally asks you to meet him in the student council's room

- tells you to "please sit down" in front of him

- Honestly, this situation is making you really tense. Did Tadashi figure out that one time, 3 months ago, when you stole a smoothie from the cafeteria?

- "Look, I'm sorry okay? I was just really thirsty and I needed sugar. Also, it's not like I wasn't allowed to get one! There was no one at the counter so I figured it wouldn't hurt to..."

- Tadashi IAmConfusion™ looks at you

- "Why are you talking about that now? Don't worry, I know."

- Now it's your turn to get confused

- "You mean... you knew and you didn't give me detention?"

- Now he looks a bit frustrated

- "Come on Y/N, I'm not that mean. I won't give you detention just because you came 5 minutes late to our meeting."

- This is most likely a misunderstanding...

- "This is what you were talking about just now, right? That the reason why you came here late is because you were drinking a smoothie. I figured you were probably busy doing something so no need to feel so guilty about it."

- "Oh. Oooohhh... yeahh... totally. Sorry."

- Now that this is out of the way, he asks you to tell him what's on your mind

- At first you hesitate a little but, if there's someone with whom you want to share this with, it's Tadashi

- he's listening really closely to what you're saying without cutting you off but sometimes you can see his eyes getting a bit darker

- Like, you're not being specific enough about a detail or something and he's probably taking notes of all the questions he has so that he can ask them when you're done

- At some point though, you become really emotional and your voice starts cracking when you're talking

- You end up crying and your tears fall on the desk

- Tadashi jumps out of his seat, his chair falls down as he panics

- "Hey! Y/N?? Err... Um..."

- Takes you in his arms carefully, like he's not really sure if that's what he's supposed to do when this type of thing happens

- "It's okay! I'm here... I'm here so... d-don't cry Y/N I'll do something about it no problem!"

- when you've calmed down he puts down his wallet on the desk

- "Uh... what?"

- "You can use it."

- "You mean your money??"

- "What else?"

- he explains that you can take all the smoothies and premium food in the cafeteria with this

- "Are you kidding? I can't use your money for that."

- He's literally trying to cheer you up with money which is obviously not the way to go about it

- He sees that you're not convinced so he pulls out his phone and shoves the screen on your face so closely that you have to take a step back in order to read what's on it

- It's Tadashi's to do list, probably the place where he writes all of his tasks for the week

- The spot on number one is you. It reads "1. Y/N"

- when you look at him Tadashi is furiously blushing and looking away

- this is incredibly sweet until you notice how wrong this sounds

- "Wait... Tadashi?"

- "Yes?"

- "I'm first on your... "To do" list? Seriously?"

- "What's that's supposed to mean? Of course you're number one on my- Oh god..."

- he just understood how wrong it sounded and took the phone back before rewriting the list

- He's making it so easy for you to tease him

- the poor boy is literally begging you to stop it but you can't until he shows you his phone screen again

- this time it's written "1. Make Y/N smile again", you're literally his number one priority. This is so sweet to the point where you can't tease him anymore. It would be too mean.

- As for Tadashi, let's just say that he's about to get "really mean" with the person you were talking about just now and he's not going to hold back

Hope’s Peak AU General Outfit Headcanons

It’s more au!!!!!! I was really tired while writing this and it probably shows. If I missed anyone lemme know! I think I missed someone from v3 but I'm not sure who. If people are interested in the dr3 characters beyond Ryouta, I can add on to this post. Lemme know!

As a general rule, any special events that require uniforms (graduation, entrance ceremony, etc) will have most students wearing uniforms. It’s important to note that while Hope’s Peak has a uniform (the same ones seen in the dr3 anime) there is no dress code. You can buy a uniform in the school store, but they aren’t at all mandatory, and so Hope’s Peak Students can wear Literally Whatever They Want. So you don’t have to wear the uniform for your agab, you can wear a halloween costume everyday, pj’s everyday, really the only rule is that if you would get arrested for wearing it on the street, you probably shouldn’t be wearing it here, and you need to be wearing something.  

(I’ll also mention free time a bunch in this post, which is just whenever the students aren’t in class. I’ll explain the daytime/nighttime and class time/ free time schedule in a later post)

[Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc]

Makoto: wears his outfit from THH, but the pants are the uniform and the jacket is the uniform. during free time he’s just in hoodies in jackets. He gets cold easy.

Sayaka: wears the uniform, she thinks it’s cute. Has hair clips/hairbands to accessorize. wears cute and trendy clothes!

Leon: doesn’t wear the uniform. Wears whatever was closest lying on the floor. 

Chihiro: wears the uniform, but sometimes with her in game skirt instead of the uniform skirt. some of the other girls took her shopping for dresses and skirts and she loves all those outfits and wears them all the time! =)

Mondo: wears the uniform, but not the tie, and has his shirt unbuttoned in that delinquent way most of the time. Sometimes Taka will through a tie on him, though loosely tied. (Mondo doesn’t like things restraining his neck)

Kiyotaka: are you kidding he wears the uniform religiously. He’s never seen in anything else. Even after class hours, on weekends, over break, he’s wearing it. Some of the under (and upper) classmen wonder if he even owns other clothes. 

Hifumi: owns a uniform. Usually wears it, but sometimes he just comes in pyjama’s. 

Celeste: never. She’s not even wearing it in the pictures from THH, she’s probably never even touched a uniform. She’s committed to the aesthetic. dresses all the time.

Sakura: wears it everyday, but only during school hours. wears stretchy workout clothes normally. 

Mukuro: wears the uniform, though she’s modified it so the neck is looser, and there are lots of hidden pockets for weapons. She also made her skirt longer. she also has a bulletproof vest she wears both during and after classes. shes got leggings with hidden pockets. 

Junko: also wears a modified uniform, with extra pockets, and a shorter skirt. She also has her tie from THH, and her THH skirt. Keeps her Monokuma Hairclips.

Aoi: More likely to be wearing her gym uniform or other work out clothes with the hope’s peak logo on them than the actual uniform, but staff will take what they can get.

Hagakure: doesn’t wear it.

Touko: wears the uniform, but Syo doesn’t. Syo just wears whatever, so if she’s in control when getting dressed, she’ll probably just wear whatever she can find. She doesn’t care if its clean, ripped, etc.

Byakuya: The Great Byakuya Togami has better quality clothes than the hope’s peak uniform, but will wear it when requested by Makoto, or at any school events where he wants to look part of the class or something. (School fair, stuff like that)

Kyouko: wears the uniform. It makes her dad happy.

[Ultra Despair Girls]

Komaru: Doesn’t go to Hope’s Peak, but wears the uniform for her own school.

All the warriors do not wear uniforms. I don’t think that Hope’s Peak Elementary has a uniform. They wear their in game things. Except Jataro, who wears an allergy face mask instead of his in game mask. 

[Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair]

Hajime: Wears the Uniform, though usually not the jacket. He’ll keep it with him, but hang it on chairs or something. If he’s wearing the jacket either Izuru is in control, Hajime is cold, or he’s at a formal event.

Imposter: they’ll follow the outfit choices including uniform of whoever they’re impersonating, they are Dedicated. 

Teruteru: doesn’t wear the uniform. Is always wearing a chef’s outfit. He didn’t wear it in dr3, he won’t wear it here.

Koizumi: Wears the uniform during class hours, wears simple dresses and overalls during freetime.

Peko: wears her uniform most of the time, though does own and wear casual clothes. She’ll usually wear those around her own room though, and she has little dresses she’ll wear on outings or on dates

Ibuki: it’s debated if Ibuki even owns a Hope’s Peak uniform. She’ll wear whatever she feels like, which means you may see her in a full suit, a ballgown, a tracksuit, her gym uniform, or a uniform for a school thats she’s never been to, and you can never tell what it may be. She is pretty fond of neon colours though, so typically she’s wearing really bright colours and casual clothes. She also ties her hair up different constantly, with no rhyme or reason other than ‘she felt like it’. She looks like Haruhi in that one opening scene to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya.

Hiyoko: shes still wearing kimonos and she still cant tie them

Mikan: she wears the uniform most of the time, and casual clothes when it’s not class time. Her uniform has been modified for her by Tsumugi, to make the skirt longer. Her casual clothes are nice skirts, leggings and long sleeved shirts.

Nekomaru: He wears the uniform most of the time, and track suits/ his in game clothes during free times.

Gundham: wears the uniform during school hours, and his in game clothes during free time. However, he always has his scarf and arm wrap.

Komaeda: wears the uniform, but has his little sweater vest thing. Basically what he looked like in 2.5. His hair has a touch more colour to it though, and there’s brown starting to come in at the roots by his 3rd year. During free time he wears his jacket from the game.

Chiaki: same clothes as dr3 during classes. Will wear anime graphic tees and hoodies when she’s not in class.

Fuyuhiko: Guess what it’s his vest from 2.5, I’m sorry it’s getting repetitive but canon did alright with outfits in some places and I’m not gonna fix whats not broken.

Sonia: Sonia loves the hope’s peak uniform. She wears it often, but she does have some casual dresses for when shes not in class. A note I will make, Sonia is way more practical about her hair in this au because I refuse to believe that someone like Sonia would have hair that long and not tie it up. She wears high ponytails and her braid crown from the game, and is happy to try different hair styles, such as braids or buns.

Souda: “wow souda, how come your mom lets you have two jumpsuits?” also teeshirts and basketball shorts.

Akane: wears the uniform, but also gym clothes on the regular. sometimes she wears oversized teeshirts, and general work out clothes.

(Im putting Ryota here because I’m lazy)

Ryota: wears the uniform during class, and oversized hoodies when class is over.

[New Danganronpa V3: Everyone’s New Semester of Killing]

Shuuichi: wears the uniform. He also has his hat. He wore it a lot in first year, and slowly grew to wear it less. Now he wears it sometimes, but not always! When he feels like it. 

Rantaro: wears the uniform, and his normal clothes when school hours are over. He’s got a laid back style of dress that matches his personality 

Kaede: she wears the uniform and she’s very happy about it! Her casual clothes look like a uniform, they’re very preppy. Sweater vests and pleated skirts.

Hoshi: wears the uniform but replaced the normal jacket with his leather one, and his in game clothes when he’s not in class.

Kirumi: she’s wearing the uniform the majority of the time, even when class is over, since it makes her more recognizable to the other students. She keeps the gloves though. Students are Messy.

Angie: Ok previously I said she didn’t wear the uniform, but then I started drawing her in the uniform and I changed my mind. She wears her raincoat instead of the jacket and ties off the end of her shirt to show her stomach, like Brittney Spears. She has no clue who Brittney is, she just tied it like that to show off her piercings. Keeps the uniform skirt, has art supplies tucked into every pocket she’s got.

Tenko: wears the boys uniform actually! All uniforms offer equal mobility and she likes that uniform better. The dress code is like non existent, so no one cares. When she’s not in class, she might wear skirts or pants, she doesn’t really care. So long as it offers good mobility for kicking degenerates. 

Korekiyo: wears the uniform and his in game outfit. Keeps the mask.

Miu: doesn’t wear the uniform, keeping her in game clothes. She also has some other clothes, almost all of which have swear words on them, or pants with things written on the seat of them. Good thing hope’s peak doesn’t have a dress code!

Gonta: gonta is a gentleman who wears the uniform with pride! 

Kokichi: now with Kokichi it depends. Most day’s he’ll wear casual clothes, like hoodies and jeans. On good days/ days he’s particularly excited, he’ll wear his Dice costume from his art. If he’s not having a good day, he’ll wear the uniform. So far the only people who have caught on to this pattern are Sonia and Shuuichi. No matter what he’s wearing his scarf. If he ever came to class without it, Shuuichi/Sonia would probably pull him out of class in a panic to ask what was wrong. Beyond that, he’s got a bunch of hair clips he’ll wear sometimes, as well as rings and bracelets. His favourite bracelet is a bunch of purple glass beads that make a satisfying noise when he shakes his hands.

Kaito: He replaced his uniform coat with his purple coat. He is always wearing that coat. He also has JAXA shirts and other space themed clothes

Kiibo: for a while he didn’t have a uniform because.. well he’s a robot he doesn’t need one. But after he told Kiyotaka he wanted one, Taka gave him one, and now he wears it a bunch! It makes him very happy. When he’s not in class though he usually doesn’t wear it since he doesn’t want it getting dirty.

Tsumugi: Tsumugi made a lot of alterations to her uniform to make it ‘cuter’. Sometimes she’ll just come to class in different uniforms for various anime characters. As someone who sometimes just wears cosplay on a normal day and who goes to cons, there is something fantastic about seeing someone in cosplay doing mundane things, and thats what Tsumugi looks like near constantly. she’d rather have other people wear them, but ‘if no one else will wear them, I will!’and it makes good advertising. Also cosplay is fun!

Maki: Joining the modified uniform gang, also with pockets for knives and things. Also has a longer skirt. She braids her hair sometimes, because I can verify from experience that hair like Maki’s would be super inconvenient and get in the way. 

Himiko: she’ll usually wear the uniform, but if she’s feeling lazy/tired/depressed, she might just come to class in pj’s. Same thing for free times.

Just Human Things™: Nonbinary Edition!

[[ • Soooo I decided to make a continuation of my original human formchange headcanon dump! This time it’s a little more specific and just a small warning for dysphoria talk, but I’ve been thinking a lot abt Amber’s feelings on gender & how her recently acquired formchange ability plays into this. 🤔

      • I haven’t talked about this much bc I know Certain People tend to side-eye these headcanons, but Amber? She’s a nonbinary girl. Or a demi-girl. Or... idk, woman-aligned & nonbinary. As a nonbinary lesbian myself, gender is a harsh mistress. Tho label-wise, she doesn’t... really have a word to describe herself? She knows she’s not a boy, at times feels disconnected from the concept of gender with how it’s enforced, and she knows she dresses & acts feminine. She’s 100% fine with that.

     • Yet also, toys — and esp dolls — are heavily gendered when humanoid. You know how some parents react when boys want to play with toys marketed for girls? Amber just... highkey hates that. Now this could be read as loathing forced gender roles (tho this can heighten dysphoria). However, before learning about form changes, she often questioned herself: “Why did I have to be a doll? Am I a girl because I feel like it, or because I was made to be one?”

    • From this perspective, her penchant for poking around in other worlds, and constantly being mistaken for a young child/illusion/robot/some other malevolent entity taking on an innocent form (and yes, these are all things she's been called or assumed to be in threads), always being mistaken for something she’s not... eeeyep. The gottang parallels man.

   • Side note: I’m never going to shut up about toy-replica parallels. Young Xehanort saw Woody and company as nothing more than potential vessels whose hearts could fray by cutting off their connections — just like how a chunk of the organization invalidated Xion’s right to exist as an artificially made person. 

      • Additionally, I’ve seen folks pointing out how Xion’s treatment isn’t all that unlike the struggles many trans people face (initially created as a clone/via Sora’s memories, constant misgendering, things like that). While I’m not saying that Xion’s experience is a 100% perfect analogy (and it’s no big deal if you don’t incorporate these HCs/theories muses-wise), it’s something I keep in mind when writing Amber with the above parallel in mind.

      • Self note: gotta contact someone with a Xion muse one of these days. Because... for Science��.

      • Anyworm, to get into the meat of things: immediately after she learns to formchange as a human? Gender euphoria babey! But seriously, she feels way less out of place in her own skin in this form and it stands out all the more when she first return to Galaxy Toys. Amber still lives there (she wouldn’t want to get someone fired over “stolen” merchandise by leaving the store for good), the only difference is that she uses her formchange when she runs off during closing hours.

     • Like, from her POV, humans aren’t as limited. They don’t have to wear “girl” clothes, they’re not seen as lesser for being a “girl’s toy”. Well, disregarding transphobia and misogyny but I mean... she’s literally a year old post-DLC. :I There’s a whole lot that Amber doesn’t know and there’s only so much she can witness in a toy store, but she does know that she feels a whole lot better in a human body than in a doll one. Tl;dr it lessens her dysphoria a heckton.

   • Does she bind? Nnnnnnot a lot. It’s not something that bothers her too much, but she may do so depending on the outfits/coords she designs for herself.

   • Speaking of coords: as a preface, a lot of it has to to with convenience but she isn’t world-hopping in lolita coords 24/7 (it takes a lot of petticoats, layers, time to pull off everyday). Often times she’ll dress up in otome kei & related street fashions for easier movement. Kodona too when she experiments with gender expression & any look that’d be pulled straight out of a vintage Oscar Wilde photo.

  • Be it casually, with frills, or blazers & slacks? You bet your behind she’s gonna look elegant! While she loves her skirts and dresses, she really can’t wear anything else as a doll, let alone while on display, without sales floor associates getting suspicious. It’s nice to have a choice in what she wears, y’know?

 • As a last note, regardless or how she feels about gender, she’ll tear you a new one if you so much as imply that dressing feminine makes someone lesser or anti-feminist. She’s here to raise ALL women up (be they cis, trans, or nonbinary), not tear them down.

Zoyalai!!!! For the ship headcanons thing

who hogs the duvet: zoya, which annoys nikolai to no end in the winter because it’s cold smh 

who texts/rings to check how their day is going: nikolai likes texting zoya about things/people that remind him of her (“hey nazyalensky, i just saw someone wearing an outfit even you wouldn’t be able to pull off” “is that a challenge, lantsov?”) 

who’s the most creative when it comes to gifts: lbr what’s the use of nikolai’s skills if he can’t make gifts for his wife

who gets up first in the morning: zoya used to get up at like the crack of dawn everyday and she’s a light sleeper so its her most of the time. nikolai does get up earlier some days though (still, nightmares are more bearable now that she’s with him)

who suggests new things in bed: ... nikolai has a List™

who cries at movies: both; they just have an unspoken agreement to never, ever bring it up, though zoya does get tempted to say something to him sometimes when she thinks the film isn’t even worth crying over 

who gives unprompted massages: nikolai, but he has to be absolutely sure that zoya is fine with it – so when she’s too tired to say no – or else he risks getting a small electric shock 

who fusses over the other when they’re sick: they’re both guilty of doing this even though they’re very much aware that they both really hate it. zoya just does it with about 200% more cursing and threatening

who gets jealous easiest: nikolai is always, always suffering

who has the most embarrassing taste in music: nikolai has picked up so many songs from all over the world during his sturmhond days and some of his favorites are... questionable???

who collects something unusual: nikolai likes to collect random things that inspire him to invent, or improve on something he’s already made before 

who takes the longest to get ready: since zoya usually just goes for her kefta nikolai takes longer bc he takes a while to pick out his outfit for the day (as Style Icons do) though there are times he goes for the standard first army uniform instead. even then they don’t spend a lot of time getting ready anyway unless there’s a state event – when you’re ravka’s power couple couple the job scope includes looking effortlessly good and meaning it

who is the most tidy and organised: zoya’s workspace is super neat and organized bc she likes being able to reach for letters and folders easily. nikolais is a total Mess but somehow he still manages to find everything; it’s annoying and fascinating at the same time

who gets most excited about the holidays: honestly nikolai loves any excuse to celebrate anything (budget concerns aside lol). modern au!nikolai is the nerd who counts down to christmas once the 1st of november hits; he also loves dressing up for halloween ( “zoya, this year we should go as–” “no.” he always gets his way in the end though.) 

who is the big spoon/little spoon: zoya was never into it before – the great zoya nazyalensky does not cuddle – but she absolutely loves being the little spoon now. don’t tell anyone 

who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sports: they’re already extremely competitive individually (okay, maybe zoya just a tiny bit more) but it’s even worse when they’re against each other so watching them play chess is an Event, but the best part is how they both act casual as if winning isn’t a big deal to them. spoiler alert: it actually is

who starts the most arguments: Zoya Nazyalensky’s Legendary Temper™

who suggests that they buy a pet: there was no actual discussion – nikolai just impulsively brought back a puppy one day and zoya was just like wtf where did that even come from (zoya gets a cat in retaliation. also bc she’s just a huge cat person) 

what couple traditions they have: WALTZING AT BALLS!!! nikolai likes taking his wife out for ~*romantic*~ walks in the palace gardens at night just to take a break from working. when they’re apart, like when zoya has to travel and leave nikolai in os alta or vice versa, they write letters to each other everyday. oh and they send passive-aggressive missives to each other when they’re fighting even when they’re in the same room bc they’re THAT petty. peak romance

what tv shows they watch together: nikolai would absolutely, definitely be a HUGE star trek fan so there are days where all they do is marathon a season (zoya also got invested as time passed by, though not as much). he also loves how it’s made! + they like hate-watching reality tv sometimes too. it’s zoya’s guilty pleasure tbh

what other couple they hang out with: tamar/nadia, david/genya

how they spend time together as a couple: running a country together! mornings are their alone time though. they involve lots of snuggling and the sweet kisses nikolai’s been asking for (meanwhile, it took a while for everyone else to get used to the fact that meetings start later)

who made the first move: nikolai was the one who put an end to the years-long romantic tension and misery everyone had to endure though it wasn’t that obvious bc they’ve been acting like a couple for so long anyway until they see the ring on zoya’s finger and promptly freak out (he didn’t want to make a big formal announcement at the beginning bc he wanted some drama) 

who brings flowers home: NIKOLAI, OF COURSE

who is the best cook: look... let’s just say that it’s a good thing they don’t really have to cook

“No shortcuts, just hard work.”

Brigitte has inherited her father’s work ethic. Hard work pays off and she’s willing to work hard for her beautiful treasure. 

The first time you refuse to listen to her she will try to fix your disobedience with a good old fashioned spanking. Hard enough to hurt but not yet hard enough to mark your skin. 

One of her rules for you is that you have a dress code. You’re here beautiful princess and she’s your knight in shiny armor and that was something she loved to remind you of. Not just with nicknames but also with clothes. The only clothing you were allowed to wear was the pretty dresses she bought for you. 

While a lot of the dresses she bought for you were casual everyday dresses plenty of them looked like they came straight out of a Disney movie. Those were her favorite kind of dresses. She loves dancing with you when you wear them. It’s one of her favorite things to do after a long day of work. 

Because you’re her princess she doesn’t make you do any chores. But that doesn’t mean you can make the house a mess. You’re her princess after all, and princesses are supposed to be neat and polite. Intentionally making a mess will get you punished. She just doesn’t make you clean it.

Depending on how long you’ve been her captive denial of affection will be punished differently. If you’re still new she will give you space. so.....i’ve been highkey thinking about lucy as a mom. just. for weeks now,,,, so have some mommy lucy headcanons (that is only specific to hubby verse with @misfortuning but i cry about them all the time so--)

so Lucy has two kids if you didn’t know. her first born Lyle, and her second born Elias. Lyle was an accident, and by pure chance--but he’s ultimately what drew Lucy and Isayah together so.......bless. Elias doesn’t come until a few years after that (i think we said around 5/6 yrs after that?), and he’s definitely planned. Lucy’s the one who asked for him. She wanted more kids with her husband and. Yeah. [epic and super strict babymaking schedule and planning ensues for months on end until success]

Lucy changes her last name from Asha to Runer. Her name is fake. Isayah’s name is fake. But apart of her really fleshes into her name “Lucille Asha” during this time and she just ends up wanting to adopt her husband’s name if only because it means something to her. 

She’s laidback most of the time. I definitely don’t think she has a similar approach to things as most other parents do. If her kids get into a fight, she’s not concerned. If they’re in trouble in school, she mostly goes “meh.” If her boys are fighting with each other, she’s watching mainly from the sidelines like “....ok it’s not that serious tho.” KFKJGGH. 

That being said, she has her own way of disciplining her kids. Her main method is to let them fall on their asses, let the come running to her for help, watch them squirm and cry in discomfort and just when they think they’re done for, she’ll finally throw them a lifeline. She inherently gives them a lot of freedom to make their own bad choices and to learn from them themselves. She’ll always chime in, though. Let them know they’re being idiots when she thinks they’re being idiots.

....Gosh she’s lowkey supermom. Everything. I mean, everything is taken care of. Food, errands, laundry, cleaning, planning, schedules, events..... She just takes care of it all. Actually, most of the time, she’s a little wary about letting any of her boys take care of it because she likes things done a VERY specific way. 

....She gets softer. Physically. She still takes morning runs everyday, but with the addition of her kids, plus Isayah’s two girls.... she just doesn’t have room for a weight-room. And by the time the kids are all grown, she would’ve fell out of the habit of lifting weights for years then. She still retains a lot of her muscle, but it’s underneath all of her flesh.......... She’s softer.

That being said, she never quite shakes the habit of getting up every morning at 6am. It’s just whipped into her routine. Plus it definitely gives her plenty of downtime before all her little demons awake. 

She works for Sai as a weapons dealer. She has to give up the hitman work -- actually finds that she prefers finally giving it up. And it’s definitely flexible enough with her life as a mother because Sai usually calls her when he needs her, which leaves weeks in between where she gets to stay home. 

SHE’S ALWAYS INTERESTED IN WHAT KIDDOS ARE DOING. You coloring a book? She coloring a book now too. You wanna finger-paint and watch cartoons? Shit, she’s right beside them doing it too. She’s basically reliving her childhood vicariously through her bappies.

She is.... so huggy. Always holding her kid..... Always wants to smooch her kid..... The Love(tm) she has for her children is just. the greatest love she’s ever possessed for someone. She almost loves her kids more than Isayah DJKFKJDGH. But then she remembers Isayah gave them to her so.......

Am I done? No. She always finding an excuse for her Hoe Wear(tm). She misses dressing up. She’s more casual now, but she’s always sporting something tight-fitted, flattering, and something and shows off her bobbies. She a milf >:^/

Biggest thing she’s strict about when it comes to her kids are their physical health (always on top of it if she notices a Sniffle or a Cough. Always on top of what they’re eating when they’re young. Super healthy bappies). And she’s strict about messes. Just make sure there ain’t one spoon in the sink when she comes home because she’s the mom that will “wHY ARE THERE SO MANY DISHES IN THE SINK DO YALL NOT DO SHIT” FGJKDGJKH

She’s a lot healthier mentally. Which is the biggest bonus. Catch this bitch thriving mentally, physically, emotionally, and all of the above. She’s so grossly in love too. She is domesticated...... a mommy....... a wife......... And she’s fully living in the civilian life she’s always craved. Catch her in the grocery store with her bappies buying them packet fruit snacks and Special K LMFAOOUFUDGHG

My Thoughts on The Ice Dress

So, while it’s difficult to tell, it’s unpopular opinion time (or maybe it’s popular opinion time? Who knows?): I’m not a huge fan of the whole ice dress trend in Frozen. It seems like the fandom is split 50-50 on this, but here are my thoughts about it.

Don’t get me wrong: the original ice dress is beautiful, and its symbolism is also very important. It was born consuming the dress from Elsa’s coronation, turning the dark and conservative fabric into a shining, free-flowing, and beautiful outfit representing everything Elsa desired to become during Let It Go. In that moment she’s not dwelling on the past, on the pain, on trying to be perfect - she’s only focused on being herself. The dress represents a transformation in her character in that moment, and it is incredibly important both for the story and for who she is.

But...personally, I think that’s also my issue with it. The thing I find so poignant about it is that not even ten minutes movie-time after that transformation, she’s back to all her old habits: she’s anxious, she’s fearful, she’s berating herself. After that incident with Anna, and finding out about the state of Arendelle, it’s like that whole incredibly powerful song never even happened. Nothing really changed aside from something superficial like her wardrobe. The real change happens later, when she accepts her sister into her life again.

I get the point of continuing to have her in the ice dress: as mentioned earlier, it’s meant to be a representation of her throwing away the past and starting new. But, I’m not so sure having her always in that dress is the best way to go about it.

There’s the fact that it’s lazy, especially given how Anna seems to have a new outfit every time its indicated there’s been a day change. I get animation is a difficult medium but do you really think a fucking Queen capable of making her own clothes would wear the same damn thing everyday? It’s either telling me she literally wears the same dress everyday or that uniquely creative personality you’re trying to give her is going out the window because she only knows one dress style.

But here’s the thing where I see most of the fandom either in agreement or disagreement: I like her jacket dress better. For two reasons: one, visually, I just like it better. I like the patterns, the details, the colour. It just goes much better with her character, I find. And two, it’s more practical. It’s normal, it’s casual - you know, as far as royal clothing in the 19th Century goes. I can’t tell you how annoyed I get when I see things where Elsa’s out in the fucking woods and she’s doing so with a long, very delicate train of ice dragging after her (the comics are especially bad for that). Like, I can get in the context of the actual movie why she’d maybe be doing that, but for every other time now that she’s back home and has access to clothes better suited for hiking through the forest I refuse to believe she’d be that stupid. Don’t believe me? Even her actress in Once Upon a Time can attest to the dress being bad for wandering through the woods.

The jacket dress also has an interesting trait that I really think is lost on any of the ice dress variations, and don’t worry: I’ll get to those. Take a look at what Anna is wearing, and also what their parents are wearing:

There are influences from these other characters in this style of dress, influences that are lost in the ice dress. Granted, the rosemaling style is typical for the region Arendelle is based on, but that’s only one connection. The colour scheme is very similar to that of her mother’s dress. Same thing goes for that blue broach on her collar. But the jacket - that’s more like her father. Note the little crocus you can see on her belt in the concept art. The same design appears on the cuffs of his sleeves (although it’s difficult to tell in these images). While a bit of a stretch, the fact that she’s in an outfit like this rather than something more similar to Anna tells me that there’s some kind of connection being made to him, and his choice of a military uniform-style, even when not making formal appearances. Elsa, being a princess, wouldn’t wear something quite so obvious, but the jacket still is a nice callback.

But the ice dress and it’s variations don’t have any connection. They are entirely separate from her past life, and, by proxy, her parents. There’s nothing there anymore. And if they had been presented in a way that made them less amiable, and more abusive, I can see this as a good thing. But they weren’t. Misguided, yes, but I choose to believe that after that initial bad decision they spent the rest of their lives trying to make up for it, and the King’s heartfelt and genuine “You’ll be fine” is indicative of that. I don’t believe that Anna and Elsa especially have moved on from their deaths as much as the movie and shorts are showing. Elsa, who internalizes so much, who loved her parents with all her heart so much that she refused to touch them fearing causing them harm, who never got to hug them goodbye but instead simply curtsied as if they were foreign dignitaries and not her parents, who asked fearfully if they really had to go, who was never even able to go to their funeral because of her powers, I think, would have so much to work through. Even more so now, now that she’s finally allowing herself to feel and think about her emotions and is finally beginning to process those thirteen years of piled up issues. And I don’t think the ice dress is doing anything to help that.

Instead I would have preferred her going back to those same colours and styles, maybe initially concerning the people close to her that she was falling back into old habits. But she’s not, it’s just that those clothes are a way for her to still feel close to the parents she never allowed herself to touch. Maybe, slowly, she starts adding little touches with ice to make the outfits more her, but it’s just a little thing. I realize that this would warrant a whole short, if not chunk in a movie to explain, and it’s much easier visually to continue putting her in the ice dress for the shorts. But they could have done this in a comic or something.

And, ok, while the last little bit there is more of my own headcanon, what I will say in the broader sense is that the ice dress really should have been reserved for more special occasions. Honestly, if they had made the Frozen Fever dress as something that wasn’t just a carbon copy painted green and pink, and maybe utilized a more practical jacket dress or even if they had started the short with her in a more normal dress I wouldn’t have minded. Depending on what you choose to believe is canon, either Anna’s birthday occurred a few weeks after the events of Frozen, or it happened a little less than a year after. And I’m honestly not sure which is better: that Elsa literally wore the same dress for several weeks after making it or that she wore the same thing, perhaps on and off but still coincidentally on the day the short began, for almost a year. Maybe for the actual celebration the flower/ice dress would have been cool to change into, but for the bulk of the short they’re running around town - by the pier, up a clocktower, riding a bike - and especially before when it’s just the setup why bother with something with a long-ass train behind you? There’s only so much believability you can give, and considering one time I nearly wiped out because my pant leg got caught in the chain of my bike I refuse to believe that that tandem bike would work with that dress.

Same thing goes with the newest dress for Olaf’s Frozen Adventure: it’s an improvement, but it’s still the same kind of shape and form, and it still has that long fucking cape. It’s a beautiful cape, don’t get me wrong, but for the whole short? Where it looks like there’ll be more hiking through the woods, more traversing the town, and skating - where, again, I might be able to believe it if it were just Elsa, what with her being the Snow Queen and all, but have you ever been skating? There’s a reason figure skaters don’t wear long, flowing pieces on their outfits. The smallest thing that isn’t ice getting caught under your skate will send you flying. And don’t even get me started on the fact that it looks like Elsa’s able to spin like that in high heels. Those must be the strongest heels in existence.

I’m actually a little disappointed that the creators of Frozen never made a “blooper reel” like some other animation companies do. Because never has there been a movie that warranted it more: think about all the ice blunders, the surprise snowballs, the various hijinks that can occur when mixing people and skates. But there should be a whole segment of Elsa getting clotheslined by all the capes she wears getting caught on stuff.

And while some people may point out that long capes seem to be her thing, as the coronation dress also has one, to that I say: It was a coronation dress. It was supposed to be grand, and stunning, and impressive. It was also supposed to be worn solely for that night. How many people choose to believe that literally any other queen in history wore the same thing she wore to her coronation around her castle afterward? Do you honestly think Queen Elizabeth II was wandering around Buckingham Palace a few days after her coronation in the same thing, with that long, fur-lined train dragging around after her? No. So why would Elsa? The thing about the coronation dress, and any of the ice dresses, is that they are meant to give an idea of her character to other people, specifically her subjects and other dignitaries. The long trains and the intricate embellishments show off her status as Queen. But when she’s not trying to show off - when she’s alone or with close friends and family, it just seems out of place and impractical. It’s on the same level as Anna racing off into a winter-cursed forest in a summer ballgown. We were shown just how well that worked out, so why not the other way around? 

My last point (I swear I’m almost done) is this: the ice dress reminds people that Elsa is the Snow Queen. Nothing particularly wrong with that, except when it’s constantly reminding people of that, both fictional characters in-universe and us, as the real people watching/reading the media. As of right now, having seen some of the comics and what they’ve been doing in the various shorts, the writers are trying very hard to make sure we all know Elsa has ice and snow powers. Whether or not that’s their choice, or something they were told to do by Disney’s marketing department, is up in the air. But it is happening, anyway. And while it is important for us to see that she’s since gotten much more comfortable with people knowing what she can do, there is a way to take that too far. Because right now, Elsa’s sole identity is based off her powers. Especially so in how she presents herself to minor characters. There’s really no attempt made to differentiate Elsa as a character from her magic: she is defined by being the person with magic. And this isn’t particularly great for her character - it limits growth and development when all she’s known for is her magic. There are other facets of Elsa’s character that are being swept under the rug to make way for more snow-based hijinks, and honestly it’s not a very smart move. I’d argue that a lot of Elsa’s charm as a character came from her more relatable personality traits, such as how she handles nervousness, or her intense drive to be responsible and grown up in the face of so much pain and misfortune, or even despite how quickly she had to grow up she still had this underlying playfulness and kindness. Elsa is much more than her magic, and as much as we love to label her as the Queen of Ice and Snow, she isn’t just that. So by parading her around in the same icy dress all the time, all that’s really happening is that visual of her being a magic snow queen is constantly being pushed at us, with no attempt made at trying to show any other side of her character. I’d be less annoyed by this if it also wasn’t reinforced by constantly having her solve any problem by using her magic (in this case I’m talking more about the comics). Magic - or any physical power - should never be used as a defining character trait. It might have influences in things that actually define a character, like in Elsa’s case how her magic was the reason she harbours so much guilt about the past and now does everything in her power to fix it. The focus needs to be on the character and who they are as a person, not their abilities. Focusing only on that makes a story boring, and a character flat and one dimensional (especially given the range of Elsa’s abilities, it seems like there’s nothing she can’t solve, which doesn’t allow for any conflict).

To be completely honest, I would have actually preferred the ice dress more if it was like the one from the upcoming musical. From the sound of things, that dress changes to fit Elsa’s mood, so while it might start glittery and magnificent when she first makes it, it later shifts into something more resembling rags once she starts beating herself up for her mistakes. It makes the dress dynamic, and better represents Elsa’s mental breakthrough regarding her powers and how she feels about them. It shows us that there’s more to it than simply spawning a nice dress and everything being ok, and it shows us that her recovery isn’t quite as quick and easy as it first seemed. But by keeping the dress static, never changing even its shape from day to day, and only varying from other forms by colour, or sleeves, or adding a few embellishments, it’s not really helping her character. It’s latching onto that Snow Queen image and not letting go, and not allowing any other aspects of her personality to show through. It’s also super impractical in, like, 90% of the things she does. That’s not to say it’s a bad dress, or what it’s come to symbolize is wrong, but it’s something that really should have been toned down in its usage. I’m really hoping they do that in the sequel.
