some ramblings today. with a little sketch and its tie down

drawing cats is always easy and almost automatic for me since theyre basically my foundation. so when i want to warm up on some concepts, theyre usually my go to.

recently ive been studying art again more seriously, really looking at where i was lacking and doing studies, reading a lot of art theory and reference books, life drawing, everything i can. getting better at grouping shapes, values, focusing on clarity of silhouette, simplifying information, have all become my priority. i really try to think the entire time im drawing now instead of going on autopilot. so even revisiting drawing cats occasionally, now feels new as im doing it with a new mindset/perspective on what i want to achieve. i tend to practice drawing 6-8 hours a day but the goal of where i want my ability to be still feels so impossibly far away.

i havent animated very much at all in the past year, and im trying to rekindle my love and drive for it, it scratches an itch in me that drawing never does. over the years of being a lonely teenager who tied their self worth to their online art presence, my self esteem was linked to how well i could perform artistically any given day eventually lead to me crashing and burning mentally. i could not animate without significant stress and feeling like i was going to throw up because i knew the end product wouldnt satisfy me. so i avoided doing it for almost a year.

i know a lot of younger artists follow me and its easy to fall into this trap, esp with how competitive it is and the incentive of social media attention. but it will make you miserable, and upset. even know i have to repeat to myself "its ok to make bad drawings" and that comparing myself to others has no purpose. this sounds overly dramatic since a lot of you know me as a former warrior cats animator, but ever since i made animation my career this thought process became increasingly difficult to escape and would affect my performance at work sometimes. i got a job working with dogs for a while since i didnt want to have the mental toll of doing professional work anymore. im trying to get back in the game now, almost reteaching myself art in a way. and ive been feeling a lot better.

im thinking of making some sets of cat anatomy tips, reference drawings, and my thought process when stylizing them to out up on gumroad for free. maybe some animation cycles and breakdowns too. if you read this far 😀 hi

but basically the black mesa facility is much less corrupt than the hl game and focuses on rescue/sanctuary/conservation awareness! coomer is the spokesperson pretty much, he works on the awareness aspect and teaches people about wildlife conservation. tommy works directly with the animals for the most part, especially sunkist. bubby is more science-centered, and doesn’t really work one-on-one with the animals (but he does like them a lot. just doesn’t show it). benry is a security guard for the center and knows shit fuck about animals BUT he has a high respect for them and starts learning more through his friendship with tommy.

im drawing them as i speak :3c i have doodles from months ago when i originally made the au but its mostly benry (to no surprise sadly) i might post those later but for now i need to prioritize drawing this silly bear and his companion!

it's been almost a year since you'd joined the taskforce. nearly twelve months of gruelling hard work, and not for a single second had lieutenant ghost treated you with a shred of familiarity. at first, you thought he'd get over it, that he'd get past his obvious trust issues and warm up to you eventually, but you quickly gave up on that idea.

clearly, you'd been too optimistic.

which was unfortunate, considering how much you'd come to care for the prickly bastard, no matter how dismissive he was of you. it started slow; when you were first recruited, you held a great deal of respect for him because of his reputation, and you'd naively even looked forward to working with him. when you discovered his less than friendly demeanour, to say you were disheartened would be an understatement. he was withdrawn and stoic, never sparing you so much as a passing glance and a barked order,  whether you were in the field or not.

the other sergeants had assured you that he wasn't as cold as he comes across; soap and gaz both told you how he'd acted the same towards them when they first met – he was a lone wolf, not used to having to look out for teammates.

the more time you spent on missions with him, the more you saw of the person beneath the hard exterior. you saw how he seemed to know everyone's strengths and weaknesses, things you never would've picked up on. he always made sure the team had eaten, disguised as a gruff order to stay on your game. when he got angry, it would be because someone put themselves in danger, not because they screwed up the mission. you saw someone who'd been through hell and come out the other side swinging.

before, you'd respected ghost as a soldier and your superior, but now, after spending so much time with him, your perspective of him has changed. he intrigued you; he's quiet, introverted but not shy, more observant than you could imagine, and so closely guarded you wondered if he'd ever be able to open up. you'd only heard whispers of the things he'd been through in the past, so despite his obvious animosity towards you, you treated him with the respect you thought he deserved – like a person, and you'd hoped that with time, he could see you as more than just a soldier too. though he still didn't like you, you liked to think that the two of you have come to some sort of understanding.

and that leads you to your problem; you wanted to know him. every tiny crack in his facade made you more and more curious about the man behind the mask – about simon, rather than ghost, but from what you could tell, he didn't hold the same sentiment about you. where he would banter back and forth with the others over comms, he'd fall silent whenever you join in. every minute little mistake was amplified to him, you've lost count of the amount of times he's berated you for things he's excused for others. it made your heart ache that you just couldn't win with him, and you feared you'd never understand why.

but now, as you sit shivering with a shock blanket wrapped around your shoulders, watching the smouldering remains of what was your home in the middle of the night, freezing and exhausted, you'd never felt more hated.

you could hear them, ghost and the captain, talking in hushed voices a little ways down the road from where you sit. they probably think they're being subtle, discussing what to do with you like you're not even there, like every single one of your worldly possessions hadn't just gone up in smoke, but you hear them as if they're standing right in front of you.

"i wouldn't do this if there were any other options, simon."

"there are plenty of other options, just stick 'em in a hotel for god's sake."

"there's no hotels close enough to base – it'll only be temporary, 'till we can find 'em somewhere else."

"fuckin' hell, why cant they go with one of the others?"

"soap and gaz are already flatmates, you live alone and you're the closest to base. this is the only option that makes sense."

"i'm not fuckin' happy about this, price."

their profiles are momentarily illuminated by the blue lights from the fire engine parked nearby, allowing you for a second to see the withering glare ghost is sending your way, and all of a sudden the last couple hours of emotional distress is crashing down on you; his obvious distaste for you combined with the toll of watching your house literally burning down was too much for you all at once. you could feel the tears start to spill over again, but you can’t find the strength to stop them and just bring the shock blanket closer to your face. you’d lost everything, and even now he couldn’t find it in himself to feel an ounce of compassion for you? why can’t he care for you like he does the others? like you do for him?

as your watery gaze drops to the soot and ash covering your pyjamas, a voice sounds from beside you, the opposite direction from price and ghost. you don’t even realise you’re hyperventilating until they lay a hand on your shoulder and rub soothing circles into your back.

“hey– hey, it’s okay,” it’s gaz, you notice in the back of your mind, sitting on the curb next to you. you squeeze your eyes shut in an attempt to block out the world around you, and gaz brings you closer into his embrace. “you’ll be alright, we’ll get everything sorted, yeah?”

"i– i don't– i can't–" you try to speak, but you can't seem to form a coherent sentence through your sobbing.

"it's alright, just breathe for me." gaz hugs you tighter again, your head coming to rest on his shoulder as he consoles you. for a few minutes you stay like that, your breathing eventuslly returning to normal and the tears slowing to a stop.

price and ghost are still arguing, but you can't hear what they're saying anymore; probably for the best, if you had to listen to ghost complain about you for one more second you might really have a breakdown.

soap's voice cuts through the fog in your mind, "managed to find this, thought ya' might want it." you look up to find him crouching in front of you and holding out a slightly singed photo, a weak smile on his face. "frame's broken, but the picture's still mostly fine."

you take it from him, fingers grasping the card gently as you turn it around to look at the picture. it's from a few years ago, you and your friends from your previous unit, smiling into the camera as if you had no worries at all. staring at the ghosts of your friends starts you crying again, clutching the photo to your chest and leaning back into gaz's shoulder. if anything could've survived the blaze, you're grateful it was this. gaz rubs your arm sofly, whispering comforting words to you again.

you hear another set of footsteps approach and look up again to see price now standing in front of you as well. it's not exactly surprising, but ghost is nowhere to be seen.

"ambulance is here," price says, offering you a hand and pulling you to your feet when you take it. "i'll follow behind to the hospital, one of you two take their car to simon's."

you nod and retrieve your car keys from your jacket pocket, thankful you'd had the mind to grab it on your way out in your frantic state.

"I've got a bag in the boot, it's got some clothes in it." you mutter, handing the keys to soap, who smiles and gives you a pat on the shoulder.

"no bother, i'll grab it for ya." he says, and jogs off to where your car was parked, thankfully untouched out of reach of the fire. he returns not a minute layer carrying your duffle of emergency supplies, something you never thought would actually come in handy.

before you know it you're waving gaz and soap goodbye, the paramedics are guiding you to the back of the ambulance, and you're leaving what remains of your old home in the rear-view mirror.

you hated hospitals. it was a fact, and it had been that way since you were a child, everything about them just made your skin crawl. perhaps you inherited the feeling from your mother; she always managed to bring up her distaste for the place whenever the topic arose. or, maybe you only hated them because they scared you.

either way, the relief you felt as you stepped out of the front door into the car park with price trailing behind you was palpable. he falls into step next to you as the two of you make your way over to where he parked, his keys jingling as he fishes them from his pocket.

"we're puttin' you up with simon for the time being, 'till we can get you somewhere else." his words make you wince; you already knew he was going to say that, but it didn't stop the anxiety from bubbling up in your chest.

"i heard." a beat of silence passes before you continue. "how long will that take?" you ask, climbing into the passenger seat and dropping your bag at your feet as price settles into the driver's side.

"i wouldn't get your hopes up. might be quicker to wait for 'em to rebuild your old place." he flashes you a smile, but you can't find it in yourself to return the gesture.

"right."

neither of you say another word as he starts the engine and pulls out of the car park. you turn to look out the window, watching the world go by, the quiet rambling of the radio serving as white noise in the background. it's the early hours of the morning now, the sun would be up in a few hours and you'd have to go back to work already – price did say you could have the day off, but honestly the last thing you wanted was to sit around all day with nothing to do but overthink.

after nearly ten minutes of trying to ignore it, the worry playing at your mind becomes too much to keep to yourself.

"you know he hates me, right?" you utter, half expecting price to ignore your question all together.

he clicks his tongue. "he doesn't hate you," price replies, and his voice sounds reassuring but it doesn't bring you much comfort.

"okay, well, he doesn't like me either." you turn your head to look at him, raising your brows. rolling to a stop at a red light, he meets your eyes and huffs.

"alright, he can be difficult–"

"really?"

"–but i promise you, he doesn't hate you." he says. you give him a disbelieving look, and he sighs, looking back to the road as the light turns green. "give him a chance, alright?"

"is he gonna give me a chance?" 

"he will." price says firmly, sparing you a look as he drives down the quiet road. "and if he doesn't, you'll knock some sense into him, eh?"

"sure…" you mutter, looking back out the window and falling back into silence. its only a few minutes until he's pulling over to the side of the road, outside the house number you know to be ghost's.

"sting," price calls out, stopping you as you reach for the door handle, "he'll come around, alright?"

"it's been a year, cap. i don't think he will." you reply, and before he can say anything else you open the door and step out into the night air, grabbing your bag from your feet before closing the door again. you give price a half-hearted wave as he pulls away again, before turning around and gazing up at your – temporary – new home.

it was nice, all things considered; a standard terrace on the end of the row, but the size has you wondering if there was even room for you to stay here. though it's not as if you have a choice. all the lights were off, which had you hopeful that you wouldn't run into ghost just yet.

you drag yourself to the front door, your eyes stinging from the effort of keeping them open, and twist the handle as quietly as possible, closing it behind you and cringing at the clunk it makes. thankfully ghost didn't hate you enough to lock you out for the night, something you actually wouldn't put past him considering how he feels about you.

there's a small side table in the entryway that catches your attention. on top of it sits your car keys – you make a mental note to thank soap in the morning – a new key, and a note. you pick up the paper, using the torch from your phone to examine the scratchy handwriting.

living room's yours. lock the door. – s

it's more than you expected from him. you sigh to yourself and pick up the other key, locking the door and shuffling into the small living room. the pull-out bed is made up for you, albeit quite messily, and you waste no time in dropping your stuff and laying your head down on the lumpy pillow.

with any luck, this arrangement wouldn't last long, but in the meantime you got the feeling you were in for a bumpy ride.

In which, you're Tobio-chan's older sister and Oikawa's girlfriend and things get really awkward at interhigh qualifiers...

BACKGROUND INFORMATION...

•reader went to kitagawa daichi and currently goes to aoba johsai

•reader is a third year

You rush off the bus, practically sprinting. "Crap!" You murmur as you try to navigate the streets of the town. It's interhigh- that tournament with all the schools in the district which determines who's going to nationals. You were just at your annual doctor's appointment when you hopped on the bus.

You rush inside so fast that you don't even have time to look at the tournament bracket. All you know is that you promised both toru and tobio you'd come watch a game of theirs.

What you weren't ready for was sitting down in a chair and seeing seijoh and karasuno on the same court.

Fuck.

Due to the nature of their relationship, you hadn't told Tobio you were dating Oikawa. Oikawa obviously knew you were Tobio's sister, but that was way before he even met him in the first place.

In fact, you were hesitant to get with him because of the rivalry between the two. And to you, it was a miracle Oikawa didn't automatically hate you

But that wasn't the point.

Both of them spotted you immediately in the crowd and rushed over to the side of the court.

"Y/n-chan~~~" Oikawa called out with a smirk at the same time Kageyama said "onee-sama?"

You freeze in terror. Shit! You were going to tell Kageyama eventually about Toru but...

Your little brother looks at Oikawa, clueless. "Hm? Oikawa-san?" You can't help but feel bad for Kageyama. Still so polite even after everything that's happened...

Your boyfriend looks at kageyama and sneers. "Tobio?"

You're still frozen, not sure what to do.

"Why are you talking to my sister?”

The silence between the three of you is deafening. You havent told Toru that you didnt tell tobio you guys were dating.

You finally speak up. “Yeah…” you have a sheepish expression on your face.

“Wait- you and Oikawa-san… are…” Kageyama puts the pieces together.

“Yes, Tobio”

“so who are you here for then, y/n- chan~?”

As usual, Oikawa is trying to get a rise out of Kageyama.

“uhm. Both of you guys!”

Your boyfriend and brother look a bit pouty. They’re definitely competing against each other. You thank the lord that each team’s respective coach calls them over to start the match. Out of all the matches- you had to walk in the middle of this one.

wait a minute-! Who am i cheering for??

on one hand- thats your brother. On the other hand, thats your boyfriend of- nearing 10 months. And you’d say that was pretty serious. But no matter the outcome, you were going to be happy for whichever team won. And you’d need to have a talk with the both of them.

Despite being surrounded by volleyball players, you never really got into the sport. Sure, you knew the rules and could receive and set a bit- but that was it. You didnt really get the strategic aspect of the game, snd quite frankly, after hearing Toru and Kageyama talk their mouths about it- you didnt even want to try.

So, watching the Seijoh and Karsuno was… an interesting experience. You were on the edge of your seat the entire time, eyes flickering between the two opposing setters. As the final whistle blew as soon as the ball landed in Karasuno’s side during the third set, you knew you had to brace yourself.

On one hand, you were happy for Toru. One step closer to his dream- nationals. On the other hand, thats meant Karasuno- and the team Tobio played on, got disqualified. Before you could do anything however, Toru rushes to you, practically beaming.

“Y/n- chan~!!!”

And he then proceeds to get hit in the head by iwaizumi.

You cant helo but feel grateful. More stalling for the inevitable. “Thanks Iwaizumi-san”

“no problem l/n-san” he responds.

Then comes Tobio, who you see approaching you in the corner of your eye. You wave him over.

“Good job!” You praise him. That kid was fucked up- and quite frankly- he needed it.

and now, youre stuck in the same spot again.

“onee-sama?” Tobio asks, “i- youre dating oikawa-san” he says bluntly

“I- i am. Ive been dating him for… how long toru?”

Oikawa replies without skipping a beat. “10 months and 19 days and 6 hours!”

“How the hell do you have that memorized-“ you grumble and turn your attention to your younger brother. “Look- im sorry for not telling you earlier. I just know what kind of relationship you guys have-“

“I dont really give a fuck-“

“BITCH??? im your elder sister- treat me with some respect.”

“Ok???”

You glare at tobio. “My point is im sorry for keeping this a secret from you.”

“fine. Apology accepted, i guess.”

You guys just stand there awkwardly, until Oikawa chimes in again.

SPONTANEOUS MINI REVIEW BECAUSE I REALIZED THAT I HAVENT FUCKING TALKED ABOUT FRAGMENTARY PASSAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok so. i actually really liked this one!

so uh. if you witnessed that incredibly long thread i made yelling about kh3 you will know that i. am not a fan of the look of modern kh. i think its kind of uninteresting compared to the delightfully cartoony style and just generally i dont like more realistic looks to games that already had a unique visual identity.

so im here to say that i think it works for 0.2! im a good way through kh3 and i dont think it works well there and ill get to that when i eventually review that game but. in 0.2 i think the new style fits the more dark tone very nicely, and the enviornments are absolutely gorgeous. like i came out of ddd thinking absolutely nothing could top symphony of sorcery in terms of world design and was proven wrong. the realm of darkness is my new favorite kh "world". for my mutuals who havent played kh, look at this!!! its absolutely gorgeous

and the environments are actually my favorite thing about this game. besides being beautiful, theyre also delightfully trippy and unsettling. theres a section where you have to climb up a seemingly never ending staircase, and every time you reach what you think is the top you hear aquas worst thoughts. a lot of the areas are twisted, destroyed versions of worlds seen in bbs. its very dark (fitting, for the realm of darkness) and honestly its a treat to just walk around admiring the view. the visual storytelling is as good as kh ever gets.

i briefly mentioned aquas thoughts a minute ago so ill bring them up again, her commentary adds a lot to the desolate atmosphere, and this game really feels like a character study. it shows her desperation, her worst thoughts, her hope despite everything, and its just genuinely good. i havent been able to say that about khs character writing since like. days. its GOOD.

i am. not a fan of bbs' writing. i think its got a good underlying concept with absolutely terrible execution, and it makes me wonder at times if the things i like about it were intentional or not. but this game takes the best written character of bbs and gives her more depth than they ever could before. i can say with confidence that aqua is one of the best characters in the series, and a lot of it is because of this game.

the tone here is very gloomy, but thats not really a complaint because the game is so short. the depressing atmosphere isnt too much to bear because youre barely in it for more than 2 hours. and i think that run time is EXACTLY long enough. it goes for exactly as long as it needs to tell the story and still give a moment to breathe.

as for gameplay. im not the biggest fan of the updated system. i like to think im open to change with kh's combat. i think the command deck has potential and the card system in com was fun and i actually liked days' panel system. but something about the way this new version of the system feels to play is just. unsatisfying. hits dont feel like they have any weight to me, and spells feel inconsequential despite being more grandiose than ever. its just not as good as it was before, and like its a sort of half assed replacement of reaction commands. the way they incorporated style changes into it was okay, but again its not as satisfying as it was in bbs. but maybe it was just satisfying in bbs because the rest of the combat there sucked

tldr, the things i care about in a game (writing and visuals) were fucking spectacular, but the gameplay definitely had room to improve. also if i ever have to fight a darkside again ill throw up and cry! 8/10, though im tempted to raise it to a 9 for the environments alone

It was late at night when Jameson decided to check on Avery. “Heiress, you alright?” Jameson walked in the room while Avery stared at her phone, sitting on their bed. He closed the door behind him. omg yes ofc!!! this is one of my fave aus rn i love httyd so much :) here's the first post i made about this au for reference i have maybe two chaps written but i want to get solidly into it before i post anything on ao3 cause im planning for this to be a longer fic!!

just some basics before i get into it neil = hiccup, andrew = astrid, kevin = toothless, nathan = stoic (i love stoic and i do believe he loves hiccup and is trying his best however im having a lot of fun making nathan the evil chief/father)

OKAYYYY this au is actually so fun to write for i love dragons and i love being able to fuck around with the traditional aftg character dynamics :) the fic largely follows httyd 1's plot not aftg's. the most fun to write so far has been neil and kevin's dynamic. ive decided the dragons use dragonese here and neil is fluent in it like hiccup from the books. neil's fluency comes from mary pre-death (wink) and pure spite for his father. while nathan has whipped berk into a dragon killing frenzy and never ending war, neil is going behind his back (at major risk to himself) to try and foil his plans.

neil does still hit kevin and injure his tail but it's a lesser of two evils situation, where lola was aiming at the same time and she would've for sure killed kevin. neil immediately is running off to try and find the night fury and get it the fuck outta berk before his father can kill it. this leads to kevin and neil are fighting like cats and dogs in the beginning but there's this consistent underlayer of "why havent you killed me yet??". kevin is also frantic to get back to the Nest and due to the fact they can communicate they end up making a deal where neil will try and make a mechanism for kevin to fly again and kevin will give him info on dragons. the first time they fly together its like Oh. I Get It Now. Besties for Life.

while this is happening dragon training is basically a punishment for neil Not a privilege. all of the teens/young adults are forced into dragon training so that they'll continue popping out soldiers for war with a few exceptions (aaron training to be a healer, neil originally training to be a blacksmith but is forced into it). for the longest time neil forcibly distanced himself from his peers (the foxes) because he was terrified of nathan using them against him or hurting them because he made friends. the fact he's nathan's son is also offputting to a lot of ppl (its not quite as us vs them as the upperclassmen and the monsters but its similar). so we're emphasizing the neil weird loner who seems desperate for connection but every time ur nice to him he flat out runs away dynamic.

neil does his best to stay under the radar during the training sessions which eventually fails miserably (not spoiling this part bcus its one of the first scenes i thought of. its good tho prommy). andrew is basically quietly obsessing over him and trying to figure out what the fuck is going on with him. he sees himself in neil but he also doesn't understand Why. neil of course is fully oblivious to this, until uh oh. neil's pet kevin has been found out. cue andreil truth games :)

anyway this got long and idk if i even said anything of importance or coherence but its one of my fave aus just because its really fun <3

i got to hang out with my sister, her bf and their adorable little angel of a dog today, we made cinnamon rolls (like actually mixed and rolled them) and played all the n64 games on switch that we used to play 20+ fuckin years ago

i havent mentioned it directly here but my family dog passed away about 2 weeks ago now and it was the first time since then that i was hanging out with a dog, and it healed so much of my misery immediately just getting to hold a sweet puppy and pet him. it was the first time i was visiting them in their newish apartment so he was territorial to begin with (even tho ive dogsat him for 3 weeks cumulatively lol) but he warmed up eventually and cuddled with me on the couch and let me pick him up and everything

it was a very healing day to remind myself that not everything in the past is lost forever, you can reminisce and redo and it does still feel good. not every memory is a painful one, anymore

Like i was 1/4 if the way thru before they explained the moonday bit giggle. But i really love it theres a rlly cute romance and the plots so interesting and iysf UFJFJFKKDJ. Dide i havent finished it yet so no spoilers but if they kill this one character im GOING to go insane u dont understamd. Also they have a cat so im happy

Anywayysys i have a couple im excited for. Firstly 1984 which i miiiight read next.. its gonna be a reread bc we learn abt this stuff in schools here but i just love it in general. I like george orwell a lot but 1984 is def the best of his that i’ve read. But what i actually think im gonna read next is the hunger games books!! I got this really cute set of them for Christmas and i havent started it yet and i just AHHH im so excited for it!! outside of blading jayce paints murals and street art (funnily enough most of them relate to beyblade). he's also really into swimming and surfing, skateboarding and arcade gaming! i like to think theres a local arcade near dungeon gym he spends some break/downtime in a lot <3 he has the highest score on most of the games. havent decided if he'd put his initials JDU or just JAY on the leaderboard though,,

vita is really into dancing and is who got jayce into it >:] (im giving jayce like 5 billion things sorry) her style is a mix of breakdance and fancy dance methinks,,speaking of fancy dance she does practice and during the world championships she works on her regalia little by little :] she also knows how to play guitar!

kaysem is a reader and writer! a fraction of his writing is personal journalling, but he does write short stories with little doodles to go alongside them <3

voxel is into 3D arts n crafts specifically clay modeling! it was a good getaway for him especially when he was still living with his siblings.

aria loves singing and writing her own songs! she used to not sing in front of the team at the beginning, but got more comfortable around them eventually adjdjdjdj. other than singing she does enjoy shopping! clothes and she collects knick kacks she thinks are cute

tristan is /really/ into cars, specifically sports and racing cars. a lot of their bey mechanic skills came from working on cars growing up! she also collects the in universe version of hot wheels lol

ashton is a big fan of hiking🔥 also painting and woodcarving :] he mostly paints landscapes, and includes little deer woodcarvings in gifts he gives

So I acually first played this game around the time of its release (of couse because of the Leviathan Bath card lmao) but didnt like how the game looked like that much so i quit pretty much as soon as i started

Then my friend got me into it again and well i fell in love with the characters and the plot LITERALLY DONT JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER

And why am i talking about it well its because it was around the time of christmas gabriel nightmare pass and i was new so i just kinda didnt care about it back then

But now back to the present

so the whole reason im writing this is in the first place is obvs the nightmare pass

Like gabriel one, ppyong one i could live i was like ok it sucks but what can i do i can still get all the 7 kings eventually so thats fine

AND THEN VICTORY LUCIFER NIGHTMARE PASS CAME OUT

AND OMG ok i was like ok im pissed but its probably just the victory cards that will be in the nightmare pass right ?

Dont even get me started on how fucked the pricing of it is like i payed for battle passses in games before im not even a total f2p and i was acually considering doing the same here because i mean its a small company and i really like this game so i might as well support it well no. not with this price.

I honestly havent even read the belphie's event cause i just really dont feel motivated to do it

Maybe its just me but unlocking the character card stories is also a little hard because getting the BEGINNERS candies is just annoying even though it well should be the easiest out of all of them

And the story is what made me get into this game as much as i did

I think it was the first time a game was so perfect for me when it comes to story length, and amount (i tend to get very overwhelmed when theres a lot of content)(I acually quit playing genshin impact after 2 years because there was no skip button)

The 5 chapters, all the events, some of the character's stories i read were all so interesting and fun

and well now we get literally no new content

plus like thats very personal but i would have loved it if this game had some sort of a routine because i feel like everything is such a mess ?

like now we get 3 fucking nigtmare passes in a row, new characters and event are so random and the main story well it left to get milk

also when i say i play this game for the story i really mean it because the battle system is really not my cup of tea overall the game mechanics im just not that big of a fun of that

+just the fact that PB hates that we share content of payed cards with each other but also puts important lore in it just man be fucking for real

I log in everyday just to log in and get my 10 key pull from the pancake shop to feed my gambling addiction and maybe get that mammon or satan attacker cards cause they are the only ones i lack from the ones u can acually get from the standard gacha at the moment

oh and now they erased the free 10 pull from the store huh

well with how little red gems we are getting say goodbye to any gacha in a fucking gacha game

Oh and also i dont know if anyone noticed but now selling S tealeaves gives u 6 pancakes and L tealeaves gives you 9.

And you cant read events unless you pay, u can do the story but i mean u might finish it quickly or it might get hard if u cant get any characters because well doing any gacha at all just got 1000 times harder,you just see another nightmare pass thats just expensive af, oh and a new character comes out and you didnt get lucky with your one ten pull that u managed to get after weeks of working ? well u have to wait 3 months TO MAYBE get it in the standard gacha that well you might do once a week maybe

and so the low maintence game i loved in a span of a few days changed for much much worse

I will probably keep on loging in just to see if maybe anything changes but i dont have my hopes high

ngl with how it looks like rn i doubt even asmodeus for who i was waiting so much for will change my mind about this game

what i need them to do is honestly just bring back the whole previous pancake shop along with this new nightmare one i feel like for me at least selling tealeaves for the normal pancakes and then if i have a lot of it i can changee into nightmare pancakes and then maybe exchange it for some thing would be much cooler and honestly i just want my very easy ten pull back........

for the nightmare passes just make then like i dunno every 3 months even would be better and just make it so that its smth special not neccessary or just make it more affordable for players to acually afford

qpr sasushi thoughts... inspired by this post by @purrpurra i just imagine the three of them slowly growing closer, and like, suguru normally doesnt like to touch other people but bc satoru is always finding ways to touch him, he slowly got over it, and shoko sort of ending up close often, think like late night gaming on the (idk what console wouldve been available in like 2006, insert one here) and shoko doesnt even care about the game but somehow she resting her head on sugurus lap and satorus halfway laying on her legs as he complains about what suguru is doing in the game (they havent bought more controllers yet. or maybe the console cant handle multiple. will need research i genuinely dont know 😂) and they just sort of... fall into a habit.

both shoko and satoru loveeee to tease suguru and generally annoy him, either by constantly saying his name or poking at him/tugging on his clothes. not the hair, though. they learned to not do that pretty quickly. sometimes suguru sees those 2 share a Look and he just groans and tells them to quit it off before they even start. sometimes they listen sometimes they dont.

one day suguru mentions that a movie hes interested in is in theaters and both satoru and shoko are like. "okay??? what are we waiting for??? lets go watch?" so they all go watch it (awww cute dateeee) and have fun. except. both satoru abd shoko thought the movie was so boring. they exchange a look behind sugurus back and then start layin into him at the cafe they stopped at after the movie.

sat: "suguru is this rly ur taste in movies??"

sho: "yeah that was pretty lame. have you ever watched a real horror movie?"

sug: "oh god. seriously guys?"

sat+sho just snicker.

eventually shoko starts to just kinda wonder about what exactly suguru and satoru mean to her. her mother always used to joke about when would shoko finally find a good man to take care of her (why do ppl talk to preteens this way man i swear) and stuff like that but shoko has never really felt anything that could be romantic attraction, or so she thought, but she feels More about sat+sug, like. is that a crush? was she really "supposed" to pick one of them? the idea of that was preposterous to her, they were shokosatorusuguru. it couldnt be just shokosatoru or shokosuguru. didnt feel right, like there was a piece missing.

she admits the part abt not knowing what romantic love or a crush is like at all one day to sat+sug, while theyre walking down the halls of jjh, returning to the dorms wing. it wasnt anything special, she had rehearsed it or even felt that it was a big deal, until after she said it. suguru's smile is far too devious for her liking and she sort of glares at him while satoru is oddly silent.

sat: "what if we tried kissing?"

sho: "what? why?"

sug: "to see if you have a crush" hes smirking still. "you should kiss satoru first."

sho: the idea isnt bad but why is she kind of nervous now? "okay"

and if anything. not being spoiled ENHANCES a second go through for me. like ghost trick example again. i havent played it a second time myself (i want to eventually, but im at college and for spoiler related reasons i can only play it when im at home for my own emotional health), but i have gone and watched other people play it because i love seeing other people get that first time experience too. and the amount of foreshadowing for that one spoiler is WILD. ITS EVERYWHERE. AND IT RULED TO GO BACK THROUGH IT A SECOND TIME AND SEE ALL OF THAT AND GO HOLY SHIT IT WAS RIGHT THERE THE WHOLE TIME

and for the isat spoiler i got spoiled going in for, i still got to do that, just the first time i played. i still got that 'holy shit its so obvious all the pieces are there' experience, but without the joy of getting to figure it out for myself.

i like figuring out shit for myself! i LOVE a good mystery, i love putting together puzzle pieces and seeing the picture come together, i love being proven right and hell i even love being proven wrong (though. not quite as much LMAO). and im good at it, i think! i genuinely do like that about myself, and i like getting to use that skill! a lot!

taz balance is another REALLY big one i point to as a 'the first and the second go through are SO VERY different and its SO great to get to have both' like. again, the foreshadowing is woven in SO well, in many cases completely unintentionally (there are so many times when the players accidentally foreshadowed something and i KNOWWWWW griffin was sitting there trying so very very hard not to say anything or laugh. or times in the first few arcs when griffin foreshadowed something that hadnt even been planned out yet!)

and ive listened to the whole thing like. three times, i think? at least three times. and its LONG. AND I HAVE ADHD. SO THAT SHOULD SAY SOMETHING ALKFJDLKSJFLKD

like. idk. getting spoiled on a big twist wont ruin the experience if the piece of media is good, thats true. getting spoiled on that one thing in isat very much didnt ruin it for me! i loved the game so much even going in with that spoiler! but theres a difference between ruining the experience and lessening it. and it doesnt make anyone lesser or wrong or dumb to not want that. shrugs
