The PJO Fandom is making me feel old. I read the first book way back in 2005. I've been buying them as they've come out. That's 18 years. I'mma just go find my walker. Maybe apply for social security or yell at some kids to get off my lawn or something. IDK.

Yes. The Weasleys had too many kids. An analysis. (Part 2 of 2)
So, where were we? Right. The Weasleys have so many kids that it fucks with their family dynamic and with the mental health of everyone involved. Last time, we looked at Molly and Arthur during the war. We ended in 1981, which means that all kids are born, now. Molly is still nursing. (It’s common to nurse kids up to two or three years, while slowly weaning them, so I assume that this is what Molly does.) She’s finally done with becoming pregnant every other year, however. And it’s about time, because her workload is bigger, than any single person can handle. And while it will decrease over time, it will stay enormous for the next couple of years.
1982 – Bill (who will be 12 at the end of the year) starts Hogwarts. It’s his first lick of freedom. There is no babysitting-duty at Hogwarts. All he has to do is stay out of trouble and earn good grades. Other than that, he is free to do what he wants. He will be the only Weasley-sibling in Hogwarts for two years. Because of this, his parents probably have enough money in reserve to buy him a full Hogwarts-kit without resorting to second-hand-stuff too much. (He might get second-hand books, but his robes and wand are probably new.)
At home, life is still hard for Molly. She has one less kid to take care of, but the kids who are still in her care are a handful. She still needs to teach Charlie. Percy got 6 over the summer and is a little nerd, so she is likely teaching him, too. Fred and George are still chaos incarnate. (And they are just getting started, really.)
Bill’s duties (chores around the home and watching his younger brothers) get passed down to Charlie. Percy might try his hand on this, too, because he is still in direct competition with the twins and Mum gives him attention when he helps her.
The war is over and the Weasleys start to feel the effects of this. As Death Eaters are captured and sentenced, the Wizarding World starts to feel safe, again. The stress eases off (but Molly is probably still grieving.)
Arthur’s work schedule slowly goes back to more normal levels, allowing him to spend more time at home. However, he missed out on a big chunk of his children’s childhood. It’s also hard to return to his role as a parent, because at this point, the roles of the family are pretty much established: Molly is in charge and does most of the work. Some of the easier chores are passed down to her kids (first Bill, now Charlie, later Percy). This includes watching over his younger brothers while Molly takes care of her toddlers. It’s kind of hard for him to integrate himself into this dynamic. (Just imagine him doing the laundry or the dishes – it’s very likely that he has a different way for doing this, which could easily disrupt Molly’s workflow or simply just annoy her.)
I think he will mostly stick to the stuff he did when Bill and Charlie were little. So he’s taking his kids out for trips on the weekends. But this is difficult, too, because it’s not Bill and Charlie anymore, but Charlie, Percy, Fred and George. Their dynamic is entirely different, and it’s hard to keep an eye on all of them, while also satisfying their needs equally. (Especially because Percy, Fred and George start to clash.) As a result, the trips are probably not as frequent as they once were.
It’s also possible that Arthur picks up his Muggle-hobby at this point. (Picking up this hobby causes him to spend at least some evenings in his shed, tinkering with Muggle-stuff instead of helping his wife. I imagine him to fade into the background a little bit, while he leaves the household and child-rearing to his wife.)
1984 – Charlie starts Hogwarts.
There are now two Weasley-Siblings at Hogwarts, but things are still pretty chill for them. It’s still just Bill and Charlie, after all. Bill is probably considered trustworthy enough by his teachers to receive a time-turner, so he can take all electives Hogwarts has to offer. (I do wonder how much Molly’s expectations are playing into this. She clearly expects her children to do well at Hogwarts, both in terms of grades and behavior. At this point, he is either a massive nerd like Hermione, trying to perform well to fulfill his mother’s expectations, or both. He is also setting a standard for his siblings here, whether this is on his own accord or because of pressure he receives from Molly.)
At home, Percy (now 8) takes over Charlie’s duties. He tries to control Fred and George. It’s likely that he fails miserably. They are just too close age-wise for this to work.
Fred and George are 6 now and start to play rough. Last year, Fred turned Ron’s teddy bear into a giant spider (which probably caused Ron to develop arachnophobia). Next year, they will try to talk Ron into making an Unbreakable Vow with them. So keeping an eye on them is getting harder, not easier.
At this point in time, Scabbers exceeds the life span of his species. Rats can get up to two or three years old. (And Rowling knows this. This information is included in book 3, when Ron takes Scabbers to the pet store to have the witch there check on him.) This is Scabbers third year with the Weasleys, so his time is up. No one seems to notice, though. I don’t blame Percy (or the other kids) for this, but Molly and Arthur should notice that they don’t have to replace a rat or have a talk about how Scabbers is happier in the great rat heaven. They don’t and I wonder why. My suggestions are: a) They are either not paying any attention to Percy and his pet (which would suck) or b) Scabbers is turning into Peter and uses a wand (his own or Molly’s) to confund them as needed (which would suck even more).
1987 – Percy starts Hogwarts.
At the end of the 1986/87 school year, Bill (who is a prefect now) takes his OWL in all 12 courses Hogwarts has to offer. It’s possible he returns his time turner after this or keeps it until his graduation to deal with his NEWT-workload. He now starts his sixth year. Charlie is in his fourth year and is already on the Quidditch team. Molly is very, very proud of both of them.
Percy is a wee first year and doesn’t have to watch out for any younger siblings for once. He can focus on learning instead. He is probably the first boy in the family to end up with hand-me-down robes, as he has a similar build as Bill and Bill has probably outgrown his first set.
Scabbers is six, now. So he has lived twice as long as a normal rat would. Still, no one has caught up to the fact that he is awfully old for a rat. It’s very likely that he accompanies Percy to Hogwarts. (It should be noted that Hogwarts only allows cats, owls and toads as pets, so Percy probably got a permission to bring a rat instead. However, no one at the school notices Scabber’s age either.)
Life at home is still chaotic. Fred and George are 10, Ron is 8 and Ginny is 7. Molly is probably teaching all of them. Her workload is slowly going down to a more manageable level, but keeping the twins in check is still a challenge.
She probably doesn’t expect Fred and George to do chores and watch over their siblings. (At least not in the same way she expected from her older kids.) Mostly, because she can’t trust them to do it. (Remember the Unbreakable Vow? Yeah, that.) Additionally, Ron simply has no authority over them, so that’s not an option either.
1989 – Fred and George start Hogwarts.
In his seventh year, Bill was made Head Boy. By now, he took his NEWTs and left school. He probably returns home for a little while, before he takes the first chance he gets to fuck off to Egypt and play with cursed tombs. (We should probably talk about English wizards, Egyptian treasures and colonialism here, but that’s a completely different can of worms.)
Charlie took his OWL and is now in his sixth year. He’s still on the Quidditch team and should be Quidditch Captain by now. He’s also a prefect. So between them, they got all the big achievements Hogwarts has to offer: Prefect (both of them), Head Boy (Bill) and Quidditch Captain (Charlie). Bill also got 12 OWL, which is an achievement on its own. Molly will measure her other children against this later.
Speaking of Molly: While her home life is going to relax a lot this year, her expectations are still around. She is still expecting her kids to do well in school. Considering that Fred and George are now at Hogwarts, the old demand “Watch over your younger siblings!” is back and in full swing. I can’t see Charlie doing it – he has his head full of dragons and Quidditch and lived five blissful years in Hogwarts without the need to look after anyone all that much. Sure, Percy was at school, but he has already learned to look after himself. I don’t think Charlie will start with this now. Not unless the twins interfere with his prefect- or Quidditch-duties or are completely out of line.
Percy is a different story, however. He is in his third year and still taking after Bill. Just like Bill he takes all electives, so it is likely that he also gets a time turner for this. At this point, Percy has ingrained the idea that he needs to perform exceptionally well at school and Bill set an incredible high bar to reach, but he is willing to do just that. He also spent a lot more time at home dealing with the twins. Molly’s expectations for him to be a good boy and to look after his younger brothers will now put pressure on him again. He will probably try to control their chaotic behavior, but they are 11 now, and they will listen to him even less than before.
For Fred and George, this is heaven. They finally escaped the watchful eyes of their mother and have a whole new world to explore. So many secret passageways and even more victims to play pranks on. Percy is annoying, but they can play pranks on him, too. They will soon steal the Marauder’s Map from Filch’s office, which will open up even more possibilities. It’s great. 10/10, no notes.
Life at home is finally manageable. It’s just Molly, Ron and Ginny (and also Arthur and his Muggle-stuff). This is probably a nice time for Ron, because there are no older siblings around to steal his limelight. However, at this point he has the family dynamic internalized and his self-esteem is pretty low overall.
1991 – Ron starts Hogwarts.
By now, Charlie has left Hogwarts. It is unlikely that he actually finished his education, however. When Harry becomes a member of the Gryffindor team in Philosopher’s Stone, Fred says: “We haven’t won since Charlie left, but this year’s team is going to be brilliant.” Had Charlie finished his education, he would have left in summer 1991. The quote is from autumn 1991. In this case, the quote would make no sense, because there were no matches for Gryffindor to lose between Charlie leaving and Harry becoming Gryffindor’s new seeker. So he must have left before then, probably sometime in his sixth or seventh year, after his seventeenth birthday.
It’s important to note that we don’t read about any fights over this. I can’t imagine Molly being happy with this, but he must have had her permission. (Otherwise we would know about it. Molly can’t shut up about the failures of the twins, she would not shut up about Charlie’s failures either.)
Percy is in his fifth year and a prefect. By now he is the career-driven rules lawyer we meet in canon. He will end this school year by taking all 12 OWL – just like Bill. (When Ron is made prefect in OotP, Molly makes sure to tell everyone that he is now a prefect, just like his older brothers, and she seems very comfortable doing so. I assume, Percy heard his fair share of this, when he was made prefect.)
The twins are in their third year and members of Gryffindor’s Quidditch team. By now, they have earned themselves a reputation as pranksters.
Ron is the sixth Weasley-kid to enter Hogwarts. While his older siblings might have gotten some second-hand stuff, everything he owns was basically handed down to him: Bill’s old robes, Charlie’s old wand and Percy’s old pet rat. To be clear: none of those things make much sense to hand down (or at least not to Ron).
Bill’s old robes should have gone to Percy after Bill left Hogwarts. They should be of a similar height, while Ron (as an eleven-year-old) should be somewhat smaller. Instead of handling it that way, Percy got new robes as a reward and Bill’s robes were handed down to Ron. This is clear favoritism on Molly’s part. It’s no surprise that Ron (who already feels overlooked by his parents) feels upset about it.
Giving him Charlie’s old wand makes even less sense. We know, that the wand chooses its wizard. Charlie’s wand did not choose Ron, so it would not perform as well for him. In addition, in book 1 the wand is described as follows: “He rummaged around in his trunk and pulled out a very battered-looking wand. It was chipped in places and something white was glinting at the end.”
That thing is basically falling apart. That was either a lot of wear and tear during Charlie’s time at Hogwarts (considering the fact that we have not heard anything about this with other wands, this is unlikely) or the wand was already a hand-me-down when Charlie got it. In either case, giving Ron a wand that has its core more or less poking out, doesn’t sound very safe. I wonder why Arthur and Molly decided to do this. Did they expect Ron to have a great learning experience with a damaged wand? Did they want Ron to use the wand until it eventually did break, saving them another year or two before they had to buy a new one? (And yes, they would indeed need to buy him a new one in his third year, but they had no way of knowing that. Unless there are prophecies for that kind of shit. And even then. The fuck?)
Money is tight, of course. But is it really that tight? They could afford to get Percy an owl, after all. And buying a wand for their son is an expense they've had 11 years to plan. I understand getting second-hand robes and cauldrons, as they see a lot of wear and tear. But this should not apply to a wand in the same way. This is just really, really odd.
And then there is the elephant – and with elephant I mean rat – in the room: Scabbers. Firstly, that rat should be dead for at least seven years by now. No one seems to notice. No one cares. What the fuck.
Secondly, why is Percy giving his pet to Ron? There just isn’t a great explanation for this. Scabbers has been his pet for ten years. TEN. Percy should be attached to his pet like glue. After all, he has Scabbers since he can remember. Why is he willing to part with his rat? The only reasons I can think of:
1) He does it because Molly asks him to. She is clearly playing favorites, here. Not only does he get new robes when he becomes prefect, but he also receives his very own owl as a gift. It’s possible that this owl comes with strings attached, and Percy is required to give Scabbers to Ron to get the owl. Which would be a pretty fucked up situation for every child involved and should’ve been handled differently.
2) Percy wants to get rid of Scabbers. He doesn’t know about Scabbers’ Peter-shaped secret, of course (otherwise he would’ve reported this). But it is possible that he feels, on a subconscious level, that something about Scabbers is off. Not in a dangerous way (again, he would’ve reported this), just in an unpleasant way. (This would still be odd. Especially when we consider that no one noticed Scabbers age.)
3) Scabbers has decided that it’s time to jump ship. Percy just turned fifteen this year. He is old enough to grow suspicious of his seemingly immortal rat. It’s possible that he cozied up to Ron to manipulate both boys into making the switch. Or he turned into Peter and confunded some Weasleys. Who knows. He’s still a Death Eater and mass murderer on the run, after all.
1992 – Ginny starts Hogwarts.
The flock has left the nest. Molly’s work is mostly over. It’s just her and Arthur who stay at the burrow. She still takes care of the household, but the responsibility for her kids rest on other people’s shoulders, now. There is nothing left to do, except knitting, sending care packages, worrying about her kids careers and hexing the occasional howler. Molly could get a job now or pick up a hobby or two. I mean, she does read Gilderoy Lockhart’s shitty books. She is a fan of his, after all. But she doesn’t seem to enter any community over this (no fan club, no reading circle, no nothing. It’s just her). And there are no other hobbies outside of that.
Apropos community: We don’t really see her having a community. She is a pretty important side character, but the books never mention that she has friends or other contacts outside her family. It seems like she is focusing on her kids and only on her kids.
Which would explain her meddling. Because Molly meddles a lot, when it comes to her kids and their futures. She keeps putting pressure on Percy to look after his younger siblings – this will expand to Harry after she gets to know him. Percy (still a good boy) does as she wishes. It’s not healthy, neither for him nor for his relationship with his siblings (who are mostly annoyed by him), but Molly either doesn’t notice or doesn’t care. In the future, she will be very cross with Hermione after reading Rita Skeeters articles about her. She will also be upset about the twins' career choice and Bill's choice of girlfriend…
And yeah, that’s basically it. At this point, the family dynamic is firmly established and ingrained in her children’s heads. Percy is already set up to explode in the near future. Being Molly’s Golden Child is neither good nor healthy, especially considering all the pressure that comes along with it. His relationship with his siblings isn’t all that great, either.
Fun fact: We don’t know if anyone ever told him about Scabbers’ Peter-shaped secret. If it did happen, it was probably pretty traumatic. That shit-show was his pet for ten fucking years and he handed it down to his younger brother. That’s nightmare fuel, even if Peter never hurt any of them.
The twins have firmly established themselves as troublemakers. At least some of their “jokes” really aren’t funny and border on cruel, neglectful and/or harmful. (Remember the Unbreakable Vow? Yeah, still not funny. In 1993, they also tried to lock Percy in a pyramid. Yes, I don’t think they wanted to hurt him, not really, but that thing was still a cursed tomb. Things could have gone wrong, and at that point they were old enough to know better. In their last year they tested their joke-sweets on younger students who were neither adequately informed nor old enough to consent for something like this. Yes, they tested the sweets on themselves first, but something could still have gone wrong because of allergies and all that stuff. And after they left Hogwarts and started their joke shop, they do sell love potions to students, complete with options to smuggle that shit into school. Additionally, instead of going bad/losing their potency, those love potions get stronger with age. This alone is a horror story waiting to happen.)
Ron is affected, too. His self-esteem is pretty low when he starts Hogwarts and it will stay that way throughout the series. This will inform a lot of his decisions (especially the bad ones) in the future.
We don’t know much about how all of this affected Bill, Charlie and Ginny. Bill and Charlie just aren’t as involved in the narrative, and Ginny stays kind of… bland and love interest-ish… throughout the story.
So… yeah?
Am I saying that the Weasleys did not love their kids? No, of course not. Especially Molly shows her love regularly. (Her love is more like a water hose than a watering can, however. Very intense and focussed on a single spot at a time, instead of reaching all her kids equally.)
What I am saying is that the Weasleys, as a family, are pretty dysfunctional. Many factors are playing into this – Molly’s and Arthur’s dynamic as a couple and as parents, the number of their kids, the war, etc. It’s impacting all of them negatively. Molly is stressed out, Arthur is out of touch and some of their kids lose their trust (either in their parents, in their siblings or in themselves.) It also makes their love feel conditional. The twins feel this whenever Molly is comparing them with their older (more well-behaved) brothers. Percy feels this when he comes home with that promotion and is demoted from Golden Child to family-traitor within a heartbeat. Ron has internalized it and desperately seeks attention and affection elsewhere.
They still love each other, but it’s a difficult position to be in for most of them.
And the worst thing: I don’t think Rowling notices any of this. She did not intend the family to be as dysfunctional as it is. She keeps portraying the Weasleys as this great, loving family who took Harry in when he needed it the most. And of course they did – but that’s not all there is to it. There are so many issues that go unresolved in the books. Molly never learns to back off. The responsibility for the conflict between Arthur and Percy is placed entirely on Percy, despite Arthur being at fault, too. The twins never really learn that a prank can go too far. Ron doesn’t really solve his self-esteem-issues. Rowling does start to give him some character development regarding his self-esteem-issues multiple times, but he always seems to revert back over the course of the summer holidays.
The family really deserved more effort to go into the writing.
Note: This analysis is not meant to say that stay-at-home parents are bad or that Molly should have gotten a job while having seven little kids at home. What I am criticizing is the way we treat care work. Because it is work, and a lot of work. A stay-at-home parent is often on call 24/7. A stay-at-home parent never really gets to take a break, never can take a day off, and never just can leave their work for another day. But they do deserve breaks and days off, just like any person with a day job. And that is where their partners and the rest of their families come in.
And this is the other thing I wanted to criticize here: The way we glorify living as a nuclear family. It’s said that you need a village to raise a kid and I do think this is true. Having more people involved in child-rearing (be it relatives, neighbors or professionals like teachers) is a boon. Families had access to this for millennia. Raising your kids with the help of your family and your village was normal, up until very recently. And it’s a shame that the Weasleys seemingly had no help like this. And yes, I do see the fault with Rowling, who wrote them that way. She basically took the concept of the nuclear families of the 1980s and 1990s and slapped it onto the family, without any world building at all.
(Please also note, that I consider stay-at-home parents to be different from tradwives. When I use the term “tradwife”, I am specifically referring to stay-at-home mothers who do not just take care of their household and their kids, but who also commit themselves to having as many kids as possible and who tend to take on other duties (like homeschooling) as well. The most common examples of this are probably families who belong to fundamentalist Christian churches or cults.)

hcs for
percy jackson hcs for hogwarts color houses? (if you wanted to - maybe for reader too?)
(this has been marinating in my drafts for MONTHS)
PERCY JACKSON !
- im a firm believer in percy being harry in another universe
- if harry wasnt a BBBBBITCH
- gryffindor prefect whether you like it or not. (turned head boy, lily and james situation over here.)
- 1/3 star trio (somehow percy’s in it)
- would and could beat the shit out of harry potter
- IS DEFINITELY A QUIDDITCH PLAYER
- probably a seeker or a chaser but im getting off topic
- hes a prefect that all the first years look up to yk
- like those cool older students that you want to be when your fresh in high school.
- “percy is so cool!“ “i wanna be a prefect like percy!”
- loves the attention ngl
- sneaks around to ravenclaw table to sit with annabeth (or you) and then when he gets caught he goes “i was just asking her something!” when he knows damn well he was flirting with her.
- you can tell by the shit-eating grin on his face. ^
- definitely is in a organised wand fighting club
- most likely is a pain in the ass for the teachers but he gets good grades (thanks to his girlfriend) and he probably has saved the school from some sort of magical monster once or twice
- secretly avada kadavra’d a fly once (felt bad afterwards and held a funeral for the fly)
ANNABETH CHASE !
- ravenclaw head girl.
- 2/3 of the star trio
- everyone loves annabeth, shes like the star student.
- “ask annabeth she knows.” “annabeth can you help me with this question?”
- gods shes smart but shes more than that.
- she likes to hide away in one of the towers and she makes castles ans structures out of toothpicks she steals from the tables at breakfast, lunch and dinners.
- also a student alot of the first years look up to.
- but mainly the girls like annabeth.
- the ones who felt they weren’t ever going to be smart enough or were never going to amount to enough.
- annabeth would smile sweetly at them and remind them to believe in themselves.
- is the only person percy really listens to.
- percy could be messing around and not listening in a class and the moment annabeth even mutters a word starting with p hes sat on a chair, hands in his lap, posture straight and mouth SHUT.
GROVER UNDERWOOD !
- now i don’t want to stereotype… im not that type of girl.
- hufflepuff prefect
- AND BEFORE ALL OF YOU COME ALONG AND START WHINIGN AND CRYING “I HATE HUFFLEPUFF” BLAHS BALAHA BALAHA SHUT UP.
- he loves his house and takes so much pride in it
- i don’t think he’d like playing quidditch but he would be in the front row seats cheering on hufflepuff
- and if his house wasn’t playing he’s there cheering for percy
- 3/3 of the star trio.
- grover “my bf” underwood is a hufflepuff.
- alot of the younger kids look out for grover in a crowd
- especially the misbehaving gryffindor kids that are running away from clarrise
- if they can’t find percy they cower behind grover
- and grover being the big hearted boy he is he stands guard of the kids despite shitting his pants himself
- he loves his house.
- he loves care of magical beasts class
- all the new hufflepuff kids IN GENERAL always go to him for directions which makes him 1 too many times late to class. but im like so sure the teachers know and love him so they let him off with just a soft warning.
- “i’m so sorry professor! i was helping a first-“ “just sit down underwood.”
- to all those fans that watched fantastic beasts, grover is 100% using a tower like newt did with new beasts he finds.
- has probably accidentally wandered into the forbidden forest with annabeth and percy by chance. (he wanted to find a unicorn)
- some random slytherin kid picked on a hufflepuff first year and grover ripped the kid a new one. hes loyal to his house 💔
- he had to get a new wand once or twice because he used to chew on it in exams (when he got especially anxious)
CLARRISE LA RUE !
- despite her being sometimes rude
- i do think she’d also be in gryffindor 😭
- kinda like an arrogant, “im better than you” gryffindor
- like how she is in the show and most of the books towards percy
- but underneath her hard exterior shes soft towards the ones she loves and is close to
- also a quidditch GOD
- the most exhilirating beater to watch in quidditch.
- alot of first year girls also admire clarrise
- more so the ones that want to be strong and join quidditch.
- EXTREMELY PROUD TO BE A GRYFFINDOR
- she REPS THAT SHIT HARD
- “i think slytherin is co-“ “GRYFFINDOR IS THE BEST HOUSE SHUT UP”
- extremely prideful of her colours and her house
- a little bit too much sometimes
- when someone loses house points you better pack it up and run because miss girl is hunting for you (looking at you percy)
LUKE CASTELLAN !
- erm
- slytherin head boy
- “luke is so cool!” “and hes hot..” “but percy’s better!”
- theres luke people and then theres percy people
- luke is alot more cunning in the sense that he openly does things to capture more hearts and beat percy in this ongoing war (he will be the hottest prefect.)
- probably descended from a line of gryffindors but then he popped out
- seeker in qudditch but also is a good chaser due to his build
- THE slytherin boy.
- he is so unbelievably good at quidditch and leads slytherin to most of their wins.
- another star student here
- “why can’t you be more like luke?”
- maybe has possibly been an inside spy for he who can not be named. (voldymort)
- definetly in that chamber of secrets fucking shit up
- such a helpful head boy.
- like he loves his house and will die in green
- this guy probably has every single passage in hogwarts mapped out perfectly like dimensions and all.
- may or may not be plotting something in the forbidden forest.

PERCY JACKSON HEADCANONS!!
this is part 2! hope you guys enjoy! 💙
1. Percy took a psychology class in school and he really liked it. It was the first class he got an A in. The teacher was amazing too. One of the only teachers who really believed in Percy. And Percy profited from it. (He was good. He was really good.)
2. He’s AMAZING at card games and board games (no one else likes playing with him because he always wins (except for trivial pursuit; Annabeth always wins that one.)) And chess. He is AMAZING at chess. He is also super competitive when it comes to board games and card games. Like wayyyy too competitive. It’s a problem.
3. There was a group of older boys in his apartment building that he would hang out with sometimes. They weren’t the best people but they helped him clean up cuts and bruises he got from G*be and looked out for him. Think The Outsiders type thing maybe. He would rather be with them than be alone on the streets as an elementary school kid.
4. He tried his first cigarette when he was 9. A couple of older boys in his apartment lifted a pack and gave him one.
5. Percy has a crazy irrational fear and hatred of snakes (bc Medusa)
6. He has a GREAT intuition. Peter-tingle level great.
7. One time he accidentally led a girl on for over 3 months bc he didn’t realize she was flirting with him and he was accidentally kind of flirting back and then she found out he had a girlfriend and it was a whole thing.
8. He has a lot of scars from G*be throwing beer bottles at him. There’s a specific scar on his upper cheek from one that he always lies and says was from the minotaur. Only Grover and Chiron remember that he had that scar long before the minotaur. They never mention it though.
9. He’s super good at learning new languages because the sea stretches so far and connects everybody that it’s a representation of the ocean’s versatility? It’s just a Poseidon thing. He gets semi-conversational and then the rest just magically comes to him. It helped him pick up on Italian and Ancient Greek when he was younger. And it helped him learn Latin when he was at New Rome.
10. Languages: He knows some Italian (mostly curse words) from G*be and Nico, Ancient Greek, Greek, Latin, Spanish, and Portuguese (bc I think him and Sally are either Hispanic or Portuguese.) He also started learning French before the Battle of Manhattan bc Silena was teaching him but he gave up on it after she died. He took it up again when he was in college. He also knows some Russian (because he was involved with the mafia for a bit) and Arabic (because he got bored and decided to learn it from a neighbor when he was a kid.)
11. He has really bad depressive episodes. Only Annabeth, Grover, and his mom can get him out of them. (Beckendorf used to be able to but…yk.)
12. He desperately needs things to be clean (but not necessarily tidy) bc of all the years G*be made his room and apartment super disgusting and dirty. He’s such a clean freak. He gets annoyed and stressed out if somebody sits in/on his bed in their outside clothes. He has people take their shoes off at the door. He does the dishes as soon as they’re there (unless he’s depressed. Then he doesn’t have the energy.) He obsessively cleans his apartment daily. He CANNOT handle his place being dirty.
13. Sally grew up semi-religious and she got this fancy antique cross necklace from her mom before her mom died. It’s the only thing she’s got left of her parents. She wore it all the time because it made her feel closer to her parents. When Percy was a kid, he would take it from her jewelry box while she was at work bc it made him feel closer to her. It made him feel safe. Sally realized this and gave it to him on his birthday one year. He still has it to this day and he wears it all the time under his shirt to remind him of his roots and his childhood; to remind him of his mom.
14. He is OBSESSED with blue takis. Frank got him a ginormous bag for his birthday and Percy LOVED it.
15. He is constantly cold. It could be 80° degrees outside and he could be wearing sweats and a sweatshirt and STILL be chilly. It’s a kind of chill and cold that will never leave his bones.
16. He can fall asleep a n y w h e r e. In the middle of a restaurant, on the grass in the strawberry fields, in a bar stool, literally anywhere. But, he has to have some sort of sound in the background, it can’t be too quiet. In New Rome, he typically turns on some music or movie/tv show to provide some noise.
17. He sleeps to escape his problems, but sleeping usually doesn’t help. That makes him oversleep a lot.
18. He’s constantly exhausted, no matter how much sleep he gets. That contributes to the oversleeping. He could sleep for 12 hours and still be exhausted an hour after waking up.
19. He’s a super good driver
20. He doesn’t like cops. When he was younger, he and one of his friends were walking in the street (maybe or maybe not spray painting the side of a building.) They heard sirens and starting running. But then his friend was shot and killed 5 times by a cop in the street. Safe to say that really traumatized Percy. He looks over his shoulder and tenses up astronomically whenever he hears sirens. The only person who knows about it is Grover.
21. He uses his hands a lot when he talks
22. He HATES the phrase chef’s kiss. He doesn’t have a reason, he just doesn’t like it.
23. Silena let him borrow her lighter before the Battle of Manhattan (he needed it for some reason.) He still has it bc she died before he got the chance to give it back. He never has the heart to use it though.
24. He doesn’t have a middle name. He was never given one. So whenever Annabeth or Sally is mad at him, they just make up a new middle name for him on the spot. But eventually they ran out of good names so they just started using random words. e.g. “Perseus Aeneas Jackson” or “Perseus Soliloquy Jackson” or “Perseus Prevalence Jackson.” Thalia once called him “Perseus Mistake Jackson” and they started fighting.
25. G*be used to rub his mouth a lot, it was like a stress tic or a drunk tic or something but he did it a lot. Now Percy does it whenever he’s tired or stressed, but he tries to stop cs he hates himself (even more) for doing anything related to G*be. But focusing on it just makes him do it more.
26. When he’s upset he touches his head and face a lot. He also covers his stomach.
27. When he’s happy, he messes with his hair and hands a lot
28. He loves snow and rain to an abnormal degree
29. He used to call Beckendorf “Beck” and “Becky”
30. LOVES hugs
31. His love language is physical touch so he’s super physically affectionate with anyone he loves including his friends and family as long as they’re comfortable with it (e.g. hugs, holding hands, kisses on cheek and forehead, sitting close tg, that kinda stuff.)
32. As much as he hates it, a little part of him will always resent his mom for staying with G*be. (he will never admit it to anyone.) He, obviously, completely understands why Sally did what she did. He understands that she was protecting him, but a little part of him is still that 6 yo boy who doesn’t understand why his mom won’t leave their abusive stepdad. He can’t help but blame her a little. Logically, he completely understands that she was trying her best; that she was still a child. But that doesn’t change the fact that she wasn’t there and she put him in that situation. Yes, she was a child, and no, he doesn’t blame her necessarily, but the slight resentment is still there. He was a kid too. He needed somebody to blame. He needed a stable, safe place to live. He will never bring it up or mention it to ANYBODY. EVER. That is one of the secrets that he will forever keep to himself.
Part 2. Hope you guys enjoy!

One thing I think is interesting is how much a parallel Will is to Nico. Not just cause "oh,dead siblings-" but how that whole situation pays out overall.
Both are raised by their mom for first decade of their life, why Nico grows up with a sibling, Will only has his mom to lean on, why not shown(praying so hard for a Naomi moment in tsats 2-) it's very clear he has a close bond with her why Nico hardly is able to remember his.
Both end up attack at young age with their moms. Nico losing his from Zeus, and Will being attacked why in the city with his mom. Something that sticks to him so much despite fighting in like 3 wars that he still is scared of those monster birds.
Nico and Bianca are taken to the Casino and years later camp, why Will it's taken straight to camp, and only then does he get siblings to lean on.
Nico loses the only stability(nonfataly at first) he's had his own life when she decides to join the hunters (which, as a younger sibling with similar age gap, definitely gives the feel of sibling struggling with being left behind as the older grows up but that's a different ramble-) Will like makes the decision to not be able to see his mom as much anymore for the safety of her and himself, becoming a year rounder, or having to do so after the war for sake of his siblings. Either way loosing that stability as well.
Of course Will loses a brother before Michael, not only that he looses almost all his siblings.
And this where most interesting comparing the two.
Nico has to stay in camp, he entrust Percy to look after her and when she dies in his young grieving mind he blames Percy. He was there when Nico couldn't be and didn't save her. Add on to the fact that Nico felt her die. He's left with his sister dieing why he was stuck and camp and couldn't be there with her.
Then for Will, he likely not only felt some of his siblings die(if why trying to heal them they died right there) but he saw them die. He was there and he couldn't do anything.
He sees not just Michael being knocked off the bridge, but some of his other siblings too a bit prior from Kronos. A year prior he likely also had to see many other die as well including his other brother.
I don't think most of his anger is in Percy, though I'm sure he has some mixed feelings about it at this point after botl Will is fully aware they're in the middle of war and what comes with that. They had to act fast in both breaking the bridge and getting to Annabeth. Michael wasn't the only sibling somewhere under that bridge, leaving his cabin to search and regroup why he went with Percy was the best option.
But,I think if he'd be upset at anyone, it be Clarisse and her cabin. Even if by a little bit.
A reverse of Nico's situation. Instead of "i couldn't be there, you were" its "I was there, you chose not to."
Not that they particularly could 100% saved Michael just be being their sooner or whatever, but if they were there would've been room for reinforcement. That maybe at least some of his other siblings could've survived.
They're then given something that just becomes a sour reminder of what they lost. Nico's given the figure Bianca got that led into her death by Percy.
Will's handed over the chariot, which was the reason Clarisse refused to assist in the fight why his siblings died, by Clarisse.
But, Nico left camp after. Having no ties to it and no responsibility other than taking care of himself. Only having to get back on contact with Percy after months without it. And why still going through a lot he's finally able to talk stuff over and start on a healing journey.
And honestly,I thinks why Nico and so much further in not just acknowledging his trauma and issues, but actually get moments to think it over and talk and connect to someone over it.
Think that's why I hate that idea that will just came in and "fixed Nico" or whatever. Because Nico was already on the way to healing by the end of the first series! Of course he still struggled, cause healing doesn't happen over night, but if wasn't just Will that helped him. Will was just the person to help him find his place in chb and settle in a stable place where he could finish his healing.
In contrast, Will had hardly any of that. As soon as Michael and his siblings died he was responsible for not only what little siblings he had left(Kayla and Austin were like 11 or so btw-) but a whole army of his peers and others.
He had to become a head counselor mid war, afterwards he had to burn bodies and empty shrouds of his siblings and peers why still having to take care of his living peers.
He couldn't risk the energy to argue or be mad fully at Clarisse. He just had to put on a steady face why she gives his cabin back the chariot like that would fix anything. Only for that to get broken but too long afterwards
It is non stop for over the next 1-2 years. To the point he centered his worth around helping others to an unhealthy degree that it even affects his relationship with Nico.
Which took up to tsats for Nico to really sit and talk to Will about it. Nico's aware of how hurt by his sibling's lost Will is, but i think up until tsats he hadn't fully processed the fact that Will never got the closure he did. Will never got to say goodbye nor had time to do his own thing. And I think tsats it as much of a start of Will's healing journey as it is Nico fully coming to terms with his. Obviously trauma like that doesn't go away, but Nico it's a lot further ahead than Will, and think just interesting how differently their life led them to that.
Will, despite having me stability with camp and his two siblings, he never really had anyone he felt he was allowed to lean on even a little bit. Even with how close he is to his mom, there's only so much he likely would tell her.
Idk. The parallels are so interesting to me.
Also, idea of Clarisse being to Will as Percy is to Nico and kinda fun to think about. I'm just a sucker for Clarisse being a big sister figure to Will hdgd
Also, not saying Nico is there to work Will through his issues either. I bet much rather him just be part of it in the way Will was with him. Nico had Jason and Reyna and Hazel as well. Let Will have that support system. Obviously I'm sucker for him and Jake having heart to heart. But also others.
Anyway gdgd just random thoughts about them.

So, I've been hyperfixating on Michael Yew as a character in general (No, I'm not okay, all the fanfictions have emotional destroyed me) and I've been going through everything Michael related, and recently have been looking at Michael fan art, and I've realized that almost every fanart where he's with someone else he's oddly tall? Like, this isn't hate towards the artists, they're out here doing the gods work drawing minor characters, but it leads me to wonder if people really realize how small Michael truly is.
Michael's described as being four foot six, and while one could technically try and argue that Percy is an unreliable narrator and is estimating Michael's height, there is quite a bit of evidence on the contrary. Michael is one of, if not the only person who Percy gives an exact height to; even Annabeth, Percy just describes as being tall, never giving the reader an exact height. Besides, Percy's description of Michael is as followed, "Michael stood four feet six, with another two feet of attitude." If Percy were estimating, or even exaggerating, he'd probably use a preposition in his sentence. So, it's safe to say that Percy is 100% certain of Michael's height (which does leave the question how Percy's so certain of this fact, but we'll never know that, as much as I wish we did.)
I know most countries don't use feet, and as someone who read the U.S. edition, I cannot be positive, but I'd assume if other dialects of English, or different languages, had their prints, it would be in what's common there (probably centimeters?) But if not, here's a conversion chart for everyone:
4ft 6in = 4.5 ft = 54 in = 137.16 cm = 1.37 m
Okay, so we all know how objectively small Michael is, but how does that compare to other people? It's difficult sometimes to make such comparisons between two characters, so I found a height comparision thing to show the height difference. As you, hopefully, can see, the first picture I put Michael (4'6" or 137.16cm) next to Percy (who's about 6' or 182.88 cm). And the second, Michael next to Coach Hedge (5') because his height is made explicit in heroes of olympus, while Percy's is just a guesstimate.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Michael doesn't even reach Percy's shoulder in height, despite the two being the same age, or Michael being older (which I genuinely believe: see my previous post about Michael). Even with Hedge, who people comment on how small he is, has a noticeable few inches on Michael, who reaches to probably about his nose or upper lip.
Now, mostly Michael is drawn with the other Apollo boys, and I've rarely see a fanart where Will's taller than him. Maybe it's because Will is explicitly a few years younger than him (at minimum, 2½, at maximum, 5ish), or maybe not, I'm not sure.
According to the wikipedia page, Will Solace is 6', but again, we take everything on the wikipedia page with a grain of salt, because Will is just described as tall in the books, specifically in Heroes of Olympus where Will would be about 14 or 15 (though, this is also a bit iffy. I could write a whole thesis on Will's age, specifically how I believe Apollo's description of Will's age is overexaggerated in THO, but that's for another post). Using this math, Will would have been approximately 13 to 14 when Michael kicked the bucket. The average height for a 13 year old boy is 5'1" to 5'5", meaning, if Will's height were truly above average, he'd be, at minimum, 11 inches taller than his brother in TLO, which is:
Tumblr media
Even if the fanart is depicted a young Will like starting it camp, there is no plausable way for him to be taller than Michael.
Here's a chart for average heights of a white boy (while we do not know Michael's ethnicity, this chart is easiest to show). The red dot is Michael's height in The Last Olympian, if he were 16, and the yellow dot is Will's approximate height, at 13.
Tumblr media
If you were to graph out Michael's height, it'll be pretty obvious that the only ages he's taller than Will is when he's really really young (I study neither biology nor math, so I couldn't be bothered to actually figure out the formula, but maybe I will someday) if Michael grew at an average rate. If his growth was normal until about ten and then was stunted, that would be a different story, but we, as readers, will never truly know the reason.
I might not be a bio or math major, but I do double major in creative writing and psychology, and that means I'm interested in why Michael is drawn taller in comparision to who he's with. And for this I have a few theories.
The first one, which I mentioned a bit ago in this post, is age. People percieve being taller as being older—though once you reach adulthood this becomes less infallible, though since they are kids that doesn't matter much—meaning if Michael were drawn his actual height, he'd be percieved as younger. While I'm not positive, I have an inkling this stems from ableism, but I have no proof to back up that claim.
My second theory is that, much like the fact that many people in the fandom say Connor and Travis are twins even though it is explicitly stated they are not, people genuinely forgot. Or one person said something, and it snowballed from there.
My third and final theory is that people just can't fully comprehend the height difference in their mind. I struggle with creating mental images, and it's possible that many other people do.
It's interesting to think about, really. And I'd really like to know if other people noticed this, or if I'm just overthinking everything again.

okay so-
on the discord i was scrolling through past convos in a desperate search for a link that i've seen before, and i came across another one of your and fsinger's aus starring Michael👀
It was like a Kronos Wins/Time-Travels AU where Michael, Thalia, Bianca, Nico, and Hazel are the MCs and I was like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and then when the first main plotpoint was basically Michael going "SAVE MY DAD" my FIRST thought was that one Puss In Boots: The Last Wish scene;
Michael, about Apollo: I will save you!
Every other god, suffering in Tartarus: Save us too!
Michael: ...if it's convenient!
like. gnawing on this au rn. i gnaw on all of your aus. this one and the Lee Lives/Apollo Becomes Mortal/BotL Au are officially my favs (Eclipse at this point is basically canon to me lol)
but yeah. I know this au has a BUNCH of beloved characters die, which would have admittedly upset me like, three years ago, but now?
now i merely eagerly rub my hands as my brain imagines how this scenario goes down eheheehhe
Ah yes, this AU! Not one I've thought about in a while, but still a fun one!
Fun fact, for you if you missed the origin of it, and also for anyone else who might be reading this and hearing about this AU for the first time - this is an AU spinoff of my AU fic Tears Will Not Wash Away Your Crimes, where defeated!Kronos from canon timetravels back to the start of TLT to take Michael out before he could become the threat that saves Olympus (see: my long rants on how by being the one to realise Williamsburg Bridge needed to break, Michael stopped Kronos winning on the first day of the siege). In that fic, he succeeds in making Luke kill Michael, and while the fic never goes on to state it, it does become an alternate timeline where Kronos does, in fact, win (due to various factors such as Luke's betrayal not being discovered because Percy wasn't there to survive being poisoned and reveal that he was the traitor, etc. and also Kronos knowing how the demigods/gods operated and basically having the cheat code of being able to squash anything they try before they try it).
But also I am a perpetual Michael!lives fan, so with the enabling of @fearlessinger, as you mentioned, another AU spawned off of this, whereby when Luke carelessly mentioned Apollo by name, he caught Apollo's attention and the god himself turned up to whisk Michael away to safety. In the end, though, it doesn't stop Kronos from winning, because no-one knows enough to trump what Kronos knows. Hence, Kronos wins!AU.
But then!
There are some key changes that go down because of Kronos' prior knowledge... Change #1: Thalia is not restored by the Golden Fleece. Kronos did this because he wanted her as his host, but he tried that last time and it failed - he won't try again. Change #2: The di Angelos do not leave the Lotus Casino. No Thalia in the running suggests that Hades may not have bothered to pull his own children back into the prophecy race - if he really wanted them to be feasible as prophecy children, he'd have brought them out when Percy was claimed, as that would make Bianca a similar age to Percy and therefore viable as an alternative. Bringing them out a year or two later makes his kids younger than both Thalia and Percy and doesn't actually make sense, unless it was a response to being the only Big Three god with no kids involved... Change #3: Daedalus doesn't die, because Nico isn't around Change #4: All our Greek Hero demigods (and the Hunters) are dead, barring the above, and Michael, who was kept safe on Delos the whole time.
And these changes all line up quite neatly into a ridiculously large plot, based on the following consequences:
Consequence #1: the gods are thrown down into Tartarus Consequence #2: the triumvirate's deal with Kronos for their support involved getting Apollo as their prize so Caligula can still claim the sun god spot and Commodus gets his revenge. Apollo is passed to them, instead of Tartarus Consequence #3: Michael is rather pissed off about all of this
What happens after that, well. Imagine Michael, no longer trapped on Delos because the twins aren't there, making his way to Delphi. Imagine Phoebe initially reclaiming Delphi, before Kronos realises she was never on her side and instead release Python to reclaim it; Michael has enough time to speak with his grandmother, but only very little before he's forced to flee into the Labyrinth to hide.
Imagine Daedalus trying to atone for all the deaths he's caused by keeping this one demigod still alive, hidden in the Labyrinth while Michael tries to work out how the fuck he's supposed to save the gods, but never even considering not doing it ("the gods", of course, meaning "Apollo, mostly").
Imagine Apollo weakened, but still able to make dream contact. Apollo not being able to dissuade Michael from trying to save him. Apollo with nothing left to lose except his one son he can't protect himself, so he gives Michael knowledge, things to help him stay alive.
Knowledge, like how the daughter of Zeus is a tree but isn't dead, can be healed by that golden fleece (Percy, Annabeth and Grover retrieved it still, but the tree was not sick and so it was never hung upon it). Knowledge, like how there are two more Big Three kids trapped in a place where time doesn't move.
(Imagine Apollo chained up and forced to be his own oracle as his divinity is drained away. Imagine a little girl with sickle-rings on her fingers being drawn to him anyway, this captive god of the Beast. Imagine the god that still wants to save a child, if only he had the chance)
Imagine Michael healing Thalia with the fleece, the pair of them fleeing from the remains of camp (the remains of Michael's home) as Kronos realises he's there. Imagine Michael and Thalia edging into a casino that's too bright, too jovial compared to their broken world, and pulling two younger demigods back into the timestream. Imagine lurking in the Labyrinth, in the Underworld and discovering a dead girl who still remembers when she shouldn't.
Imagine these demigods plotting, scheming, desperate, and the power of three children of the Underworld combined, pooling their powers together until they can go anywhere the shadows touch.
Imagine them rescuing a god, and the little girl coaxed along with them.
And when they've got one god back... it's only a matter of time before they get the rest.
(And when Kronos discovers it's Michael, again, that foiled him in the end... Well. Some Fates can't be denied)

Day 2,557 [G.W]
[Pairing:] George Weasley x GN!Reader
[Summary:] A boy comes into the joke shop with his mother; It felt all too weird for the one-eared owner to feel so at ease, something he never felt for the past 7 years.
[Warnings:] angst, sad, major character death (not Fred obv), reincarnation, grief, mourning, swearing
[a/n:] Scrolling through facebook and getting videos of children talking about their past lives really intrigued me. This is my first fic and it might be bad so please don’t bully me, I’m sensitive <3 (jkjk but I am open for constructive criticism!)
[a/n; March 2024] I wrote this draft back in 2021 or 2022 I believe, waiting desperately for the opportunity to finish and post this. That time never came. Now, 2 or 3 years later, I gravely admire my vocabulary, creativity, and passion for writing back then. Honestly speaking, moving schools killed my spark and I am desperate to get it back. For now, I am working on reviving that spark within me by going back to where I started. Even though the HP fandom isn't as active as it used to be, I would still like to share this piece I made because I am so, so proud of my younger self.

There was something about Y/N wearing white that George loved so much. He always got so giddy and cute which in turn made their eyes roll and mouth grin.
The way Y/N looked sitting at the Great Hall with their white sleeves rolled to their elbows, one hand under their chin and the other twirling a spoon while their eyes dragged along their charms textbook, cramming in as much information as they could for the upcoming test that afternoon.
Or that time at the Yule Ball when they thought it’d be funny to wear an all white ensemble because: “What?...I wanted to feel like a bride at their wedding.” whilst having the best night with George, their “groom”.
Even small moments like when they would steal a shirt from George’s drawer and wear it to sleep. He loved every single bit of it, even if it cost him many shirts.
He truly never got enough of them wearing white. So seeing them in a casket wearing that same color 7 years ago, looking so peaceful and so… dead. That killed him. That’s the last time he will see them in white; That’s the last time he’s going to see them at all.
That was the last time he could actually feel their hand rather than just dried oil on linen canvas, framed in oak and hung atop his bed. How he wished their eyes could roll one more time at how stupidly in love their boyfriend is with them, especially in white.
Voldemort’s reign of terror had ended, as well as the lives of many others, and maybe even George. They were a horcrux he never made, his life force created by deep love and affection rather than the hunger for immortality.
It never got easier even after 7 years, he simply just got used to it.
He got used to the feeling of an empty bed. He got used to gripping onto a cold body pillow instead of a warm figure and a heartbeat with Y/H/C hair disturbing his lips. He got used to counting the days since their death which gravely disturbed Fred, his twin. He got used to waking up everyday and checked off a box from the calendar with an absurd amount of numbers on it.
Admittedly he is doing better than he did 7 years ago. No more jumping from every small sound and drawing out his wand in the middle of the night. No more vivid dreams of several dead bodies laid across the Great Hall. No more crying himself to sleep. No more missed dinners. No more grieving.
He’s longed for them longer than he has actually been with them. But his love never faltered. Not once.

Day 2,557
It's now exactly 7 years since the Battle of Hogwarts. And in a month it would be the 7th anniversary of his obituary for Y/N on the Daily Prophet, a suggestion made by Percy to try and help his grieving brother. It helped, but not really.
The small May 2nd, 2005 box wrote “Baby Vic’s Birthday!” in bold red ink. George moved the yellow paper star that stuck gently onto the calendar with paper tape as Fred walked into his room. Envelope in his hands, bread between his teeth, and a beautiful haughty looking owl on his shoulder.
“Fun to finally see you up, Georgie!” Fred greeted sarcastically as George hummed in response. “Bill just sent an owl that little Vicky’s turning 5!"
"That is usually how birthdays work, Freddie." George joked, grabbing his wand and with a flick, his bed is magically fixed. "I'm not a dumbass, you know?" Fred chuckled lightly as he handed George the letter from Bill and Fleur, "They're hosting a party for her at the Burrow at 5."
He took the piece of parchment and flattened it by his desk before pulling it closer to his face, his back mindlessly pinning itself to the wall.
Dear Fred and George,
Bill here, As you should know, it's baby Victoire's 5th birthday today and we would really like love to have you two come by the Burrow at 5 pm.
Vic really misses you both. Uncle George this, Uncle Fred that. She’s going to be like you two one day, I’m tellin’ ya. She loves listening to stories you tell her, especially the ones about Y/N and Tonks. She thinks that they’re the coolest people ever and that she wished she could meet them. I simply told her that one day she would, but it’ll be far far away from now.
Hope to see you later! Please owl back immediately, Vic’s got Ginny’s temper.
xx Bill
“I’ve already owled them my ‘happy birthday’ letter before Chouette came.” Chouette, the owl cooed at the mention of her name. Slightly shuffling her feathers therefore lightly tickling Fred's neck, making him shiver. The haughty owl flew from Fred's shoulder to George's making the younger twin chuckle.
"Seems like Chouette is telling you to take a bath, mate." George laughed as the back of Fred's hand flew to his forehead. "I got us crepes and bread for breakfast! And you go on and call me stinky?" Fred exclaimed dramatically.
"How 'bout you be a dear and write to Bill and Fleur that we are going to Vic's party, alright?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'll do that." George agreed, taking out a roll of parchment from his desk drawer as well as a quill and a bottle of ink. "While I eat my breakfast and write this, will you be a dear and take a bath!" Fred cackled at his younger brother's statement. Though in a bit the sound of water dropping down the shower head echoed through the small flat above the shop.
╰┈➤✎*+:。.。⋆·˚ ༘ **ੈ✩‧₊˚ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
School owls poured in as numerous Hogwarts students wanted to take advantage of the annual “54% off ‘End of War’ sale” at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes held in memory of the fallen 50. Because in Fred and George’s philosophy, “...We might not be able to save them, but they can save our customers over 50% off of all our products!”
It seemed insensitive but it’s the thought that counts. They wanted to make sure that their passing didn’t go to waste, even if it is counted as a discount to the famous Diagon Alley shop.
Mr. Weasley and Mr. Weasley were rather busy picking up and shipping out their joke products, sending it to the owls who were perched up in a little area at the back of the store, nibbling on insects Verity; a part of their staff had handed them before sending them back to the school her bosses previously dropped out of.
It was nearing lunch time when everyone wearing magenta robes stocked up the shelves again, having been sending out owls since 8 in the morning when they heard a clanging from the front doors, signaling that a customer had finally came; A middle aged woman looked starstruck whilst holding onto a young boy that’s slowly getting out of her grip, having the same eagerness as his mother.
It wasn’t unusual for customers to react this way coming into the Weasley’s joke shop. The boy’s eyes sparkled while the mother looked in admiration. The mother crouched down to hold onto her son, keeping him from running while his mouth spilled with words.
“Mum, we have to get something for Mia!” the boy cried out eagerly, eyes darting towards every single corner of the store. George’s mouth upturned into a sloppy grin whilst listening to the boy.
“Marty, that’s sweet of you, but we already got the quill she wanted.” The mother said quietly, running her hands over the boy’s shoulders, easing it. “And it’s your birthday...” George didn’t know what came after that as he took the chance and walked towards the small family with a big smile on his face, quickly followed by Fred.
“Heard it’s a little man’s birthday.” inclined George, hands in his pockets and head down turned. The mother looked up and stood from her spot, giggling slightly as she kept a hold of her son’s shoulders. “What’s your name?” he asked, now being the one to crouch down in front of the boy.
The boy tilted his head to the side, eyes slightly strained. He looked both confused and hyper focused at the same moment. Though weird, George thought nothing of it. After all, he was a kid, the man he’s looking at has one ear, and the hyperfixation was quickly ended by the slight shake of his shoulders. The mother looked down at her son, silently telling him to introduce himself. And so he did.
"I'm Martin! I turn 6 today!" the boy said enthusiastically, bringing a smile on George's face. Being around Martin felt odd, it felt so unapologetically peaceful and rather… familiar.
"SIX?!" Fred loudly piped in. "Well now that's big, little man!"
The mother was slightly startled by the appearance of the ginger's twin, though the same cannot be said about Martin who simply smiled absentmindedly.
"I knew you before." said Martin, eyes targeting the younger twin. George smiled and kept close to the boy, keeping the conversation going. "Really?" he asked with vivid curiosity, he did not recognise the boy or his mother but fueling a child's imagination wouldn't hurt anyone.
"How?" piped in Fred, now also crouching beside his twin, "And why just him?" he asked comedically, pointing to his brother.
"Since we were 11." Answered Martin with no signs of struggle on his face. The red haired owners looked at each other, though more in disbelief than in confusion.
"Thought you said you were 6, Martin?" George asked with a kind look on his face. The boy’s mother shook her son’s shoulder harder than she did the past few times, mumbling “Marty, what did I tell you?” in tired disbelief.
“M’sorry mum.” Martin said with a pinch of sincerity before turning back to face the bigger man in front of him. “I was 20 before I became 6.” “Marty.”
Chilling, the owners thought. As they were 20 at the time of the battle of Hogwarts.
“I’m so sorry Mr.--”
“Weasley.” Fred replied as the confusion simmered throughout his twin brother. “S’really nothing to worry about Mrs.--?”
“Edevane. But I truly am sorry, he’s just a very imaginative little kid. Always has stories of his quote-unquote ‘past life’.“ she explained, making the kid become a bit mad. “But mum, it’s true!-”
“Marty, how about we look around the store, alright? Mr. and Mr. Weasley could show us around perhaps?” Mrs. Edevane hinted to the twin owners, relief gracing their legs as they were now able to stand on their feet.
“Yes, we can certainly do that! Come along Marty, tell us more about this ‘past life’ of yours.” Fred’s arm wrapped around the small boy’s shoulders, showing him around the color filled shop. “Sorry about that Mrs. Edevane.” he added mischievously, “Here at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, we like to encourage creativity and imagination.”
“--As it is the reason we got here.” George finished, giving Mrs. Edevane a kind smile as they start roaming around the shop. “Uhh. Mr. Weasley.” Her fingers tapped onto George’s shoulder. His head whipped around and mouth about to open when suddenly the 6 year old spoke; “Mum, Mr. Weasley’s name is George. This one’s Fred.”
The utter shock that went through the twin wizards was clear as day. No where in the shop did it say the owner’s names. Even their name tags; The little badge pinned on their suits merely wrote ‘Mr. Weasley’. Fred, being the initiator that he is, leaned forward. “Now how can you be so sure, Marty?” he teased, “What if I tell you that you’re wrong?”
Martin simply smiled, angling his head a bit to the side again. “Mr. George has a longer face, down turned eyes and eyebrows, he’s a bit taller than you, Mr. Fred. You have a squarer face and shorter features than him.” he explained smoothly and innocently. As if it’s something he’s observed over the course of his whole life.
“Ma’am, I’m afraid your son’s a genius.” George joked, even if he’s visibly disturbed, though nonetheless intrigued. Nobody has ever differentiated them this way, even their own mother. Though one person did. The one he cherished most. The mother smiled, holding onto her son once again.
“I’m no genius.” Martin spoke, a shy smile gracing his small little lips, so identical to the person’s portrait above George’s bed. He even said their typical response to their mind being praised.
“-- I just quietly observe.”
Martin spoke but George merely whispered. A shiver ran through his spine, heart pumping, cold sweat dripping from his forehead. It could’ve all been a coincidence. One big coincidence served on a silver platter, garnished with confusion and terrifying accuracy.
“Mr. Weasley?”
He snapped back, giving the woman a sign to continue. “Uh, I just wanted to ask... err. Why that big of a discount? Why is it 54% off of everything? That doesn’t really sound like a good marketing strategy, doesn’t it?” She asked curiously.
“Well Mrs. Edevane.” George started, seeing as Fred and little Martin were still going around the shop. “Remember the last wizarding war?” Mrs. Edevane shook her head. His smile faltered a bit but still kept his composure. “We’re, what you call it? Muggle--born?” Her eyebrows furrowed while her teeth sinked into her bottom lip. “Well, my daughter... err. Just started her first year and that McGonagall woman said that she’s a ‘muggleborn’.”
They truly didn’t know who they are.
“-- What I’m trying to say, Mr. Weasley, is that we, or at least I, am not magical. Nor is my husband.” He nodded, breathed in a bit as his mind tried to ease itself. The boy couldn’t have known who he is as they wouldn’t have known anything about the prophet, or could they?
“Well, Mrs. Edevane. 7 years ago at this date. The second wizarding war has ended. My brother-in-law defeated... him.” It was still hard to say his name, even years later. “V-Voldemort.”
She looked curious but silently let him continue. “Uh, remember when. Uh-uhm that bridge collapsed in muggle london? 7-8 years ago? A big hurricane happened? When a lot died like-” It was hard to explain. Truly. It was hard to live through it again.
“Like that Emmeline Vance lady?”
“Yes, exactly!” He exclaimed. “It was all caused by him. By wizards! Dark wizards!” Her previously bright face now looked horror struck. It was all making sense. “Seven years ago, this day. Everything ended at Hogwarts. As well as the lives of 54 on our side.” He wanted to mention one very special loss, but figured that she doesn’t need to know about it. She was just a muggle mother who brought her son birthday shopping. “We wanted to commemorate them.”
A sincere look graced upon her face, out of pity. “Is there any chance that you’ve seen anything from the ‘Daily Prophet’, Mrs. Edevane? Or your son?” He asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence. She shook her head, now gracing a look with pure confusion. “A-Anything. Like a paper? A newspaper with moving photographs? Or maybe a-a Quibbler?”
She shook her head. “Why’re you asking Mr. Weasley?” His mouth opened, about to burst out his concerns and held in grief to a complete stranger when; “George!”
It was Fred, hand resting on his twin’s shoulder as the six year old boy beside him just stood. “-- Can I talk to you? I need to talk to you.” He said, fright gracing his features and panic in his voice.
George nodded, bidding a quick goodbye to the mother and son who came in a few moments ago and calling for one of their faculty to give them the tour they wanted.
Fred pulled his twin to an empty corner of the shop. Sound muffled by the stacks of products ranging from fireworks to extendable ears. “That boy George.” Fred panted. Voice shaking. “He knows too much. Is there a chance that you put anything about how Y/N saved me?”
“Briefly. Why?” His heart was about to pop out of his chest at any moment. Any moment now his heart would be a new WWW product.
“He explained everything! Everything George! Knew things that he shouldn’t have!” Fred said, terrified. “What did he say?” asked George. Croaking out whatever’s left in his heaving lungs.
“He said that he saved me. Me and Percy! From the explosion! I didn’t think much of it at first, George! I knew that you wrote that in their obituary. But he just kept going.” Frightened. They were both frightened. “Everything they did. He knew.”
“How accurate was he?”
“Very. George. Disturbingly accurate.” Back straightened and composed, Fred stood back, eyes darting back and forth from his brother to the entrance of the shop. “He knew that they transfigured the rubble to sand. He knew that they cast that ring of fire shit they did. The diabolica thing to ward off the death eaters? Yeah. He named the spell. HE NAMED THE SPELL, GEORGE!”
“I heard you the first time!” George yelled back. Disturbed, yet he felt at peace. He could have the last goodbye he’s always wanted. “We need to talk to the boy, Fred.”
His twin nodded fervently, about to walk away from the corner when he felt an arm tug on his elbow. “Oi, how can we do it without worrying the mother?”
“Give whatever he wants for free. It’s his birthday after all. Now come on!”

Rating the Differences In How People Reacted to Nico Saying He Would Not Be Accepted At Camp.
(Btw not a hater on percico, jasico, or solangelo in this post, this is just fact checking lol)
1. Percy
In Battle of the Labyrinth, Nico is 11 years old and Percy is 15. At the end of the book Nico asks:
“do you really think they’ll ever accept me here?”
Percy says nothing. An indication of - No.
Now a lot of people say that since Percy was only a child it’s not his fault that he didn’t try harder to make him stay, but this doesn’t make much sense.
Percy is a teenage camp counselor meant to teach and protect the younger halfbloods. He even calls himself a leader in the camp. In this book he’s gone overboard with trying to find Nico and feeling a large sense of protectiveness over him but doesn’t have that same energy with wanting him to stay at camp and allows this actual child who is eleven, to leave by himself because in Percy’s own words:
‘Nico would have to find his own dark path.’
I realize Nico didn’t feel welcome and brushed Percy off a bit but honestly If my godly parent didn’t have a cabin I wouldn’t have felt welcome either. Percy should’ve petitioned the whole “maybe we should care about other gods besides the olympians” much sooner.
Rating 3/10 (maybe a 4/10)
2. Jason
The first time Nico insinuates that he is not welcome at the camp, he and Jason are on a balcony. This is after Nico’s forced outing and Jason is feeling different towards Nico than previous chapters. He is more protective and feels like he understands Nico a little more.
Jason says things along the lines of:
“maybe you should take a chance and come out of the shadows, it’s better than hiding.”
Nico gets quiet and very angry at the word.
“hiding?” He whispers.
And Jason gets frightened but stands his ground, even when the floor starts cracking under Nico’s pissed off boots. Nico ends up brushing Jason off and says that he’s made his mind up and for the moment Jason decides to not push further.
Until Blood of Olympus. At the end of this book Nico has already decided to give camp another chance (though I’m not quite sure what the difference is between giving camp another chance in this book vs the last Olympian) but Jason runs up to him, ready to give him all he’s got one last time. Pretty much:
“I know you said your leaving but I’ve got to try one more time-“
“I’m staying”
So this proves Jason was not going to force Nico to stay nor tell him camp wouldn’t accept him. But he was still ready to keep this boy at camp since he felt a connection with him, and cared alot, enough to offer his father food and prayers to help Nico.
He didn’t want to stand by and say nothing, nor did he want to gaslight Nico and make him feel dumb for wanting to leave. He respected Nico a lot here, and didn’t make Nico feel like his past experiences meant absolutely nothing….
Rating 10/10
3. Will
When Nico insinuates to Will Solace that he’s leaving bc he won’t be accepted, this is the very first interaction between the pair in the 8 previous books ever.
At first Will is surprised and then gets very angry. He begins telling Nico angrily that no one had ever pushed him away (incorrect) and that he’d completely pushed himself away (not quite correct).
He says Nico would see people want to be his friend if he ‘got out of his brooding cloud’
To say that to Nico, the most traumatized and lonely character in the books, is a slap in the face to the readers and the character. In my opinion.
He gaslights Nico in such an extreme way without even knowing him that it surprised me that some people thought this was ‘cute’. People have pushed Nico away out of fear and stuff. We know this because we’ve been in their heads. We’ve heard the offhand comments.
Will either knows what people say about him (which makes his statement even more rude and hurtful) or he turns a blind eye and pretends not to (even worse).
Some readers say that he only said this because it was true or that Nico needed to hear it but this is simply not true. Will solace is pretty much saying what Jason was but in the worst way possible.
I would have given this character the benefit of the doubt and say ‘hey, maybe he’s grown to understand Nico more’ but after reading a passage in tsats this year, apparently Will still thinks the exact same thing proving he still doesn’t quite respect or understand Nicos past experiences even by the end of tsats and even though he’s been dating Nico about a year….
I wonder if it’s toxic positivity or something….
0/10
extra. Hazel.
I just put her in here because she understands Nicos situation the most. They are both children of the underworld and are treated differently at their camps. Although, Rome doesn’t quite have the gated fence community that camp halfblood does (or did). Rome treats Hazel more of like her own person rather than the child of so and so. Camp halfblood seems to see Nico as just his parentage most of the time. Same for the children of minor gods.
So I was pretty surprised at BOO for having Nico try AGAIN at this camp that doesn’t quite deserve him instead of going with his sister to a place that made him feel a bit more welcome (even if Rome calls children of Hades and Neptune bad luck).
Hazel is kind of out of the loop about Nico wanting to leave but let’s be honest, if Nico had really left Hazel would be the first to run after him and make him stay with her lol.
I do believe Nico should have stayed with his favorite person that he cares about the most instead of a random background character that tends to gaslight a bit and a camp that looks at him differently for things he can’t control.
100/10 bc it’s Hazel~
End.
(Also read this new comic about an alternate tsats au on @nove-thee its going to get good I can tell lol.)

Nico Di Angelo's and consequently Hazel Levesque's Age
It's more complicated than you think.
I'm using the 'actual' timeline for the sake or using the years to track age better. Rick has said his birthday is either January 28th or May 16th. The one that makes the most sense is January for this tineline and the more fandom popular, so it is the one I will stick to.
We also have to address the fact that Nico spent time in the Lotus Casino and that there is no guarantee that he and Bianca left at the same time of the year they went in which means that theoretically his birthday would not be acurate. But let's assume that he did for this story.
Now let's address his age.
Grover says that Bianca and Nico are 12 and 10, and this is accepted as canon information. Let's assume this is correct and not a best guess.
That would mean
Titan's Curse is December of 2007, so Nico would be 10 until a month after this book finishes.
Battle of the Labyrinth takes place in the summer of 2008, which makes Nico 11.
Sword of Hades takes place in December of 2008, which means Nico is still 11.
The Last Olympian is in the summer of 2009, which means Nico is 12.
The Lost Hero is in December of 2009, which means that Nico is still 12, and because he brought Hazel out in September (page 99 of SoN ebook) and is actually younger than Hazel who is 13. [Let's ignore this I'll address this later]
The rest of the Hero's of Olympus series Nico is 13 because it takes place in the late spring to late summer of 2010.
The Trails of Apollo is said to start in mid-January, which means at the very latest the book would end with Nico being 14 at the beginning of 2011.
The rest of the Trails of Apollo series Nico would be 14.
The Sun and a Star takes place a couple weeks after ToA as Nico mentions the prophecy being a couple of weeks before. It's the end of the summer session, so it is still 2011 and Nico is 14.
Please don't get me started on Un Natale Mezzosangue [Percy, not liking shadow travel when in Last Olympian he does.] The mentions of Covid either mean this is December of 2020 or some other earlier December. Nico at the youngest is still 14.
The problem? Rick said Nico was 14 during HoO, which would make him 15. Do either leave the Lotus Hotel, causing Nico to age a bit faster for a while, Grover was wrong about Nico's age. This would also make Nico back to being older than Hazel.
-
Hazel turned thirteen on December 13th, 1941. It was also the last day that she lived in New Orleans.
She died in mid summer in 1942, so she spent about six months in Alaska.
She was brought to camp Jupiter in September of 2009 and is 13 1/2.
She meets Percy in mid-June 2010, which is 9 months afterward, which puts Hazel at 14 1/3.
Frank, whose birthday is June 5th, would have just turned 16.
[The age gap doesn't seem as bad anymore. with this knowledge. It's better than 16 and 13, though.]
The problem is that all sources regarding Hazel as being 13 during SoN.
-
So we have several problems here, and I am going to go the path of least resistance and change both the ages to reflect this. You don't have to like it, bit it works.
We assume Hazel is 14 1/3 in Son of Neptune and that Nico is 15 (making him even older than Rick stated he was so let's retrofit this timeline so that they can stay older sibling younger sibling.
December 2007: Nico is 12
Summer 2008: Nico is 13
December 2008: Nico is 13
August 2009: Nico is 14
September 2009: Nico is 14 ; Hazel is 13 1/2
December 2009 Nico is 14 ; Hazel is 13
March 2010 Nico is 15 ; Hazel turns 14
June 2010 Nico is 15; Hazel is 14
At the end of January 2011, Nico is 16 ; Hazel is 14
At the end of the summer of 2011, Nico is 16 ; Hazel is 15
The problem now? Bianca is said to be 12. This is an easy fix. Grover got the ages wrong. Bianca is 13. Fixed. She's still the older sibling.
Again, though, this relies on the idea the idea that when Bianca and Nico get removed from the Lotus Eaters that it is close in time to when they went in and that it is a small disparity.
Also, let's not get started on when the di Angelo's were put into the casino and the contradictory information Rick has written on that, and when they were born.

something that's always confused me in pjo fanfics is nico's age- in my fuzzy memory (haven't touched the books in over 10 years) I swear nico is mentioned to be ~4 years younger than percy and annabeth back when he first appears, but in most of the percico fics (even ones set in canon) I've read they're ~2 years apart? do you know where that came from?
I think I vaguely remember some pjo fans talking about rick fucking up nico's age/birthday in hoo (which I'll have to admit I haven't read) but when I tried googling for it I couldn't find anything
ps I swear I am not an anti, this is just something that's been a bit of a headscratcher to me and from the sounds of it you've been involved in the fandom for a lot longer than I have so I'm just curious whether you have more info on this
Oh boy... well, as a certified fandom oldie™ I can actually answer this question... but it will be very unsatisfactory.
Short answer: Math is hard, timelines are too, and Rick Riordan is not the best keeping them consistent. The latest canonical information is that Nico and Percy are ~2.5 years apart, meaning that Percy is 3 years older from his birthday until Nico's birthday. Afterwards they are 2 years apart. (as of the newer books, Nico is canonically 15 and Percy just turned 18)
Long answer: There has been a soft retcon regarding Nico's age, where originally he was 3.5 years younger than Percy, but starting with the side material between PJO and HoO he was aged one extra year, making him 2.5 years younger than Percy.
Riordan is notoriously bad at keeping up Nico's timeline consistent, to the point where he actually has two birthdays and even the year of birth doesn't add up with the text.
Tumblr media
Nico, at the start of The Last Olympian was stated to be 12 while Percy was 15 going on 16, but in Heroes of Olympus, which takes place a year after TLO, Nico is suddenly 14, when he should be 13. In a since deleted instagram post Riordan stated that Percy got it wrong. PJO is narrated in first person, and the narration (Percy) states that Nico "looked 10" when they first met, not that he was actually 10. Percy just assumed that was correct and never really asked Nico his age, when he was actually 11 during the Titan's Curse. That is the in-universe explanation for the age discrepancy.
It's not just Percico shippers though. Everyone kind of goes along with the retcon because it's fairly minor, and making Nico older only helps writers when characterizing him as a teenager earlier on in canon, so it kind of stuck.
Nico is explicitly stated to be 2.5 years younger than Percy in all material after PJO, (16 out of 22 books), most of the time by omniscient narrators, so it makes it easier to accept since the change happened relatively early in the series.

"Dorian you havent talked about your SSO OC's in DECADES and I'm feeling so lost and blue! Please please please tell me about your ocs!!!" I hear you say, and I understand, so I bring you now a comprehensive guide of all of my sso oc's and their role in the story of Star Stable online. As this is up to date on lore, there will be spoilers for the main quests in here.
Dorian Wolf - he/him
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also known as: The orange one, idiot coughing baby, my child, Rob's husband
Dorian Wolf grew up in Valedale, the oldest of three children, in a (non-druid, keeper-unrelated) cult called the Light of Aideen. The Light of Aideen valued femininity and the likeness of their goddess above all else, and as a result of this Dorian was often looked down upon in favor of his two younger sisters. Already as a young child he learned how to cook, he was taught ballet (and figure skating in the winter), and when he was left unsupervised, he experimented with the powers of witchcraft he was born with, something he had to keep from the cult due to their volatile nature toward witches. When he turned 18, Dorian fled Valedale and found refuge in Ydris' circus, where he works to this day as a trapeze artist and occasional helper around the grounds.
He's a gentle, kind, and thoughtful guy who doesn't understand the concept of being evil for the sake of being evil, often giving people the benefit of the doubt despite what their previous actions would lead any reasonable person to believe. This has led him into a romantic relationship with Rob the smuggler.
Rebeca Forest - they/them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also known as: Warthilk the void demon, Ah Fuck Which Order Do These Hair Colors Go In, Bisexual hair guy, Violence upon the village
This bad boy can have so many detachable eyeballs. Rebeca (then Warthilk) was summoned by Dorian one stormy night when Dorian tried to use his witchy powers to summon a glass of warm milk. He misspelled the necessary runes and instead summoned Warthilk, the void demon. Dorian immediately unbound the demon from him, apologizing profusely for the intrusion, and Warthilk, who usually enjoyed spreading chaos and cruelty across the land, felt so fucking bad for this pathetic, wet noodle of a man, that they adopted a human name and now spends their days making sure Dorian is okay. They live at the circus but do not, under any circumstances, help out.
When they think they can get away with it, Rebeca will make peoples lives miserable. If they think Dorian will catch on, or if they think their actions will negatively impact Dorian, they will instead collect themselves and repress the urge to ruin peoples days.
Sienna Opaldew - she/her
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also known as: The token cis, Reasonable ms stuck up fancypants, That is not your natural red stop lying, The Mom Friend, trust fund
Sienna has lived in England her entire life, surrounded by all the riches her father could possibly surrender to her. She always had the finest clothes, the finest horses, and the finest gear. That satisfied her until her 20's, when she found herself pregnant, single, and ostracized from her usual social life. In an effort to find some kind of community beyond her father's pockets, Sienna tried to figure out where her mother, who left the family when Sienna was a baby, could possibly be. After figuring out that her birthmother lived on Jorvik, Sienna moved over there without so much as a thought, desperate to find some kin that could love and appreciate her and her son for who they are, rather than for financial gain. That was never to be, however. Sienna's real mother is Ms Drake, and when she finally finds her Jorvegian side of the family, her parents start to use her against each other.
Sienna does have friends and a support system in Dorian, Rebeca and Percy, however, and helps them out financially when they struggle (something Rebeca accepts readily and happily) in return for some babysitting duties. Her son, Nicholas, is 2 years old when the story takes place. Sienna is not a soul rider.
Persephone Nightmore - she/they
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also known as: Percy Nightmore, Sephia Nightmore, The discord kitten, e-girlboy, the one not traumatized
The more I look at the art I've drawn of Percy, the more I realize I have no fucking clue who they are. She's still relatively new to the roster. They are a twitch streamer who's "close" with Sienna. They are not a soul rider. That's it. That's all I got. Love her tho.
Rose Bittering - he/they
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also known as: The guy with a gun, Half-man one-third-pink-crystal the-rest-machine, Fucking weirdo
Rose is, without a shadow of a doubt, a bad person. He works for DC, creating the drones and robots the company uses to spy on soul riders, transport Darkonium and disrupt the druids. If you've ever destroyed one of his precious creations, they will shoot you with bullets. Rose hates the robot guards on the DC oil rig, as they were set up by the previous mechanic and are not his own creation.
Rose is only loyal to DC because they fund his own habits and experiments, allowing him to do whatever it is they do in their lab without checking up on him. Some of the things they do include: watching anime illegally, cannibalism, and putting metal in microwaves "just to see what happens".
When Rose was a young teen, they got trapped in Pandoria for a long period of time and, as such, suffer severe crystalization which has carved out a large portion of their back, their eye, and has rotted off a finger. He is so overexposed and radiated that he often breaks digital things, preferring instead to work with old-fashioned mechtech. It is very possible that he was killed in the DC oil rig explosion, but if he wasn't then he will soon perish as his body is continuously failing him and he has to continue to upkeep parts of himself, such as a makeshift, magically infused spine, in order to function as a person.

do you ever feel awkward writing for Eris? I saw your poll about doing an SJM bad guys week, so I'm guessing not.
Warning - This is going to become SJM critical. Please know I am not anti any of these characters. I am, however, critical of SJM as a long-time fantasy reader.
You answered your own question in your ask there, friend.
I do not have issues writing for Eris. The main issue the fandom has with him is the situation with Mor, and here's my stance on that:
We have an issue with the timeline around this incident, so I will make my judgement call when SJM does her eventual retcon and fixes it.
We know Eris is younger than Mor and Rhys, who are around the same age. Mor was sold to Autumn as Eris's bride at the tender age of 17. When Helion is giving us his gorgeous monolog talking about his love for Momma Autumn, we find out that she and Beron were married young and had barely been married for two decades around the start of the first war. Meaning Eris was around 19 at the time.
This passage from Rhys is a little hazy and unclear, but from how I and several other people took it, he was around 28 at the start of that war, meaning Mor was also around 27 to 28. That makes Mor at least 8 to 9 years older than Eris. Meaning, he potentially was a LITERAL child when he and Mor were engaged. He would have been around the age of 7 to 9 and already had the mindset to fear Beron.
This where I am going to look SJM critical. She is great at a few things, creating plotholes by retconing, and fucking up timelines due to her retconing.
Let's say she retcons to correct that issue. We still know Eris is younger than Mor by a year or two. So, let's say he was 15 to 16. At 15 to 16 years old, I want you to think about what you would have done in this situation:
You are a young prince or princess. Your father is a known abuser and racist. You all have just found out your betrothed has sullied themselves with a person your father considers below all of you, and you know it was done to get out of a marriage she did not want to be in. You and your men find her on the border of your father's court, beaten and with a nail in her womb. Here are your options:
1. You take her back to your father, the known racist and abuser. Thus making her, in reality, his problem. You have witnessed how your father likes to handle his problems. You also know he's angry and embarrassed this female made the choice to sleep with a lesser born bastard Illyrian over marry his high fae princeling.
2. You cannot risk touching her, so leave her somewhere her friends can find her without risking her or them having to enter Autumn. This will allow her to go home, where she is safe, and heal.
In both scenarios, Eris could not win. He either took Mor to his father and risked her death and was blamed for that, or he left her knowing her friends were more than likely coming and be blamed for that as well. He was now the villain in Mor's story regardless of what actions he took, and he was that villain as a teen. A literal child. As a child he picked to allow Morrigan life. To allow her to live without being trapped the way he and his mother are.
Eris, in theory, made a selfless choice. He made the choice to damn himself and his reputation for the sake of Mor and as he says, it cost him..
As for me being willing to write other SJM bad guys-
It is perfectly normal and acceptable in every other fandom to be attracted to the bad guys and to write dark fanfiction about them. You see it all time in Tolkien, Harry Potter, and (grossly since they are all children) it has resurged in the Percy Jackson fandom. Please have several seats and let me, and the several other people who are excited for it, enjoy my little story about Pollux, my reader, and his heavy cock that sways to and fro.
It's also, as someone pumping out the amount of content I am right now, really nice to get to write a dark fic with a villain here and there for a change of pace, so thank you to everyone who is supportive and open to me doing that.

PJO / HoO Agere
These are just how I think the PJO / HoO group would fall under the Age Regression categories.
Annabeth is a caregiver.
Annabeth stumbled across Percy's regression when they were fourteen, which led to some panic attacks, a lot of invasive questions, and a sort of hesitant acceptance that Annabeth was going to be a caregiver. She took to caregiving really easily, and she's the one everyone goes to when they don't understand something, or they are panicking just as much as the little. She likes to read to them.
Piper is a caregiver.
Piper was a bit uncomfortable with the idea of age regressing, for quite a while. She thought it was a little weird, until she'd walked in on Jason taking care of Leo and just watched. She had been avoiding the known littles, who at the time were just Percy and occasionally Nico, and ended up realizing that it was something sweet. She went to Annabeth to learn everything she could, feeling a bit of guilt about how she'd reacted to learning about this part of her friends. (The littles love listening to her sing and they listen to her without her ever using charmspeak, not that she ever would on the littles while regressed)
Frank is a caregiver.
Frank had been hugely confused at first, but ended up falling right into the swing of things, and Hazel being a regressor had definitely helped with that. He also help take care of Percy when Annabeth is unavailable, and Leo whenever Jason or Piper are busy. The littles love building forts with Frank and he helps them with arts and crafts or playing games with them to wear out excess energy. He is the sweetest caregiver out of the four primary ones.
Will is a caregiver.
Will has known about age regression since he'd first gotten to camp, one of his half siblings having been a caregiver; though Will never did learn who their little was. He'd learned a lot when he was younger, and had once thought that taking care of someone couldn't, or wouldn't, be something for him… Until Annabeth came to him not so discreetly looking for information on age regression (which he never told her he knew about though he made sure she got all her information). He never fully interacted with Little Percy until after both wars, however. Sometimes he wishes he reached out sooner. Will is also the only child of Apollo allowed to do check-ups or any appointments for the littles, unless he's sick.
Jason is a flip.
Jason had first thought that he was just a caregiver, often helping out with Percy's regression (much to the Son of Poseidon's embarrassment, at first), before switching to primarily taking care of Leo when he'd found the Son of Hephaestus regressed on his own. He took a little while to get into the 'swing of things' but he had Annabeth, and surprisingly Will, to help guide him. He took to it easier than Nico, in his opinion. His first regression had taken him (majorly) off guard, and had been emabrressed to learn that Frank and Annabeth had to take care of him, though he was also really touched anyone would want to. Only felt more sure after Piper got into the idea of being a caregiver and wanting to take care of him and Leo. When he regresses, he typically regressed to 2-5 years old.
Nico is a flip.
Nico originally thought that he was a regressor. Until he'd realized that when he regressed, he felt things much much differently than Percy, Leo, or Hazel did. When he was stressed, he didn't get the fuzzy feeling in the back of his head, but he does when he's particularly upset or happy. It took some time for Nico to realize that you could be both a caregiver and a regressor. He found that he loved helping Hazel, or even Percy or Leo, when they were regressed, and it helped relieve stress the same way that regressing did. And he found that he liked curling up in Will's arms while regressed. When regressing, he typically regressed to 3-6 years old.
Hazel is a regressor.
Hazel started regressing simply because she'd asked Percy a question and he'd answered her honestly. She is the quietest amongst the littles in general but a total mischief maker. She loves baking with Frank or spending time with Little Leo, or Little Percy. She wears a beaded bracelet about her regression proudly, which the group is so proud of her for, as the time that she comes from would make the idea of age regression worse than homosexuality, and she's come so far from when she'd died and came back. She loves laying with Nico while he draws (when she's regressed), usually playing or drawing too. When she's regressed, she's about 4-7 years old.
Leo is a regressor.
Leo was terrified when he first regressed for the first time. He'd known about what it was, having seen Percy regress a few times, but he had never thought that it would be something that he'd do. It was a gradual fall into the regression, and he found that he felt better when he woke up. He'd hid his regression, since around the same time, Hazel had started regressing. He felt terrible when Jason had stumbled upon his regressing and 'snitched' to Percy, who got all teary eyed and cuddly. Little Leo absolutely adores Percy, little or not, and the feeling is very mutual between the two of them. Annabeth often jokes about Leo stealing her boyfriend, which Percy always replied that he's pulling Leo into their relationship, no stealing happening (this of course sets of Hazel and Frank, and Jason and Piper, to which Percy always laughs about). When Leo regresses, he regresses to about 3-5 years old.
Percy is a regressor.
Percy often jokes that he was the practice regressor for just about all the caregiver's, and one of the flips. He loves that he was able to help his friend group with his coping skill, especially since Annabeth had gotten experience working around trauma and triggers and was able to teach the others before they'd stumbled upon the landmines for both Percy and their own littles. He's an 'easy' little, but Annabeth finds that more unnerving them when he's upset and throwing a tantrum. He never questions anything, though there are days where it's like the pranks and running around never ends (she loves those days the most). When he regresses, he typically regressed to 2-5 years old.

ABYSS LORE. (Tw: A8U$3, DR1NK1NG, and D34TH)
Frank Abyss Schmidt was born into a moderately wealthy family alongside their older brother, Karl Abyss Schmidt, and younger brother, Jeffery Abyss Schmidt. Their father, Jeoffrey Abyss Schmidt, was often away for business and their mother, Brianne Abyss Schmidt, worked at their family business, Abyssal (Ohhhh I wonder where we heard this business beforeee). Brianne was not a good mom. At all. She’d often punish her kids over the littlest things (untidy room, trying to do something on their own without being told, not informing parents of something when it happens, etc) and punish them (spanking, kneeling on rocks with heavy books in hand, threats to her and them, etc.). They had 4 cats: Percy, Tom, Barley, and Raven. Abyss was close with the cats, often thinking that they understood them better than anyone in the world.
Abyss was raised to be proper, despite the fact they never got the hang of it as a kid due to their sudden outbursts of oversharing and flaws (autism :P). They even had a schedule for their day/school day (they were homeschooled). Wake up, get ready, study for hours, lunch or free time, study again, dinner, sleep. Every. Single. Day. During their free time (if they decided to skip lunch), they’d create tiny robots. A notable one they made was named “Tiny T”, that one being one of their best at the time. One day, they left Tiny T on their desk and their mother found it. She was outraged and berated them for doing “the poor people jobs!” Tiny T was then cast into the fireplace in front of their eyes. They didn’t eat for that whole week in mourning.
Once he turned 19, their parents kicked them out with 10k and told them to “Go be successful! This was how we were taught.” They had to save the money, often residing in homeless shelters so as to not spend anything. One day as they sat by the local corner store, a tall lady offered them a  place to stay. Being young and dumb, Abyss agreed. This lady, who happened to be named Bri (How ironic), would lovebomb Abyss whenever they obeyed or did something for her (Like making a robot for her :3) and would be distant if they ever did something she didn’t like. Like thinking about something more than just her home. They started tinkering a bit more with theoretical ideas after watching The Big Bang Theory (What else can you do if you’re stuck in some lady’s house?), accidentally stumbling upon their first multiversal traveling device, unfortunately unable to choose where they went. It was pretty dangerous but… anything to see more of the world.
They end up in the zeeverse, traveling device now in shambles but they don’t mind. They start  looking at all the interesting places. They wander about the town, buying a phone because… this is kinda their home now. Their eyes get caught on the B.F.D.I. and they begin to wander into the building, noting the “Apply Now” sign. They head up to the front desk, asking about the sign and are given a form. They slightly panic before just writing “Frank Abyss” and fill the rest out to the best of their ability. Once they’re finished, they turn in the paper and head to the nearest inn.
A couple (2) days later, they’re contacted by the B.F.D.I. to take their physical and moral exams. They pass both (almost failing the physical) and go into the writing exam. Luckily, they also passed that exam with a better score than the last two.
Once they start the job, they begin to work as hard as they can, mostly to just be seen as good enough to those in a higher position than them (People pleaser ass). One day, they trip and are helped up by Brooke Gabriella Donet (Do-nei) and begin to bond with her over science and wellness. They decide to get together and move into Brooke’s apartment, meeting her mischievous roommate, Thalia Santos. They hang out for about a year until Abyss and Brooke go “fuck it.” and add Thalia into the gay crew. Brooke and Abyss get legally married and Thalia doesn’t give a shit that he isn’t married. Probably a god problem or something. Years later, Romeo is born.
During Abyss’s work hours, they’re handling this vial containing a viscus black liquid with cat DNA in hopes that it’d give the guards cat-like reflexes when suddenly, they get the overcoming urge to drink it. It’s like they began to spiral as voices dance about their head before slowly bringing the vial to their lips. At that moment, Brooke was walking by when she sees them down the vial and drop to the floor. She panics and calls an ambulance.
Abyss wakes up and remembers nothing of the incident. They don’t remember the voices nor B.F.D.I. for some odd reason. It’s like someone had burnt their brain with a cigarette, causing gaps in their memories. They just shrug it off and go to start a business of their own. “Abyssal”. They feel like they remember that name, but can’t quite put their finger on it. It starts as a small thing, mostly focused on bettering the people with multiverse travel and such until they create something new. The implant in their wrist. They could use it for many things, but one main thing was teleportation and multiverse travel. They decide that the B.F.D.I. might be too much competition and get Brooke and Thalia to agree to moving into a new universe. This time, they get to choose where. They pick a nice place. Usually calm and seemingly well educated. The only thing was that everyone was an object, meaning that they’d have to adapt to their new home again. Abyss decides to go with a floor clock as they’re unique to them, Brooke goes with a heart locket because she wants to put a photo of her family in her locket, Romeo as a baby chooses a heart lollipop because he always thought those had the best flavor, and Thalia just shape shifts into a jester scepter because of the ren fairs him and Brooke used to go to.
12 years later, Abyssal and Romeo grow bigger and bigger, Abyss beginning to go through more and more moral dilemmas. To drown out their sorrows, they decide to drink it all away. Unfortunately, they have low alcohol tolerance and begin to spiral again. They stumble home, looking at their 16 year old son with distaste. Romeo looks at him with a startled face, recognizing his fathers drunkenness. Before Romeo could get Brooke, he’s stricken down, his face splitting into a perfect two. Abyss feels no remorse, only disdain. They think about Brooke and reluctantly decide to just use what they have on hand. They begin to turn Romeo into some sort of biological android, coding him to only obey, nothing more. They flick him on and tell him “Kill Brooke. She… She won’t die by no one but me. Not even illness will take her down before my hands.”.. And Romeo does just that. She’s drowned by the river.
This obviously creates a fall out with Thalia and Abyss, Abyss only caring more about their company rather than anything else. Thalia leaves them… Abyss tries to pretend it doesn’t hurt to watch him go, burying themself in their work.
Romeo continues to grow, Pawn joining him in life shortly after Romeo flunks a mission. Soon, Abyss grows tired of him and sends him off to where they started. Zeeverse.

Being The Oldest Di Angelo Sibling
>Alec Mores
A/N: I don’t know if I’ll make a part 2, but this was a little rushed. I was just chilling in the living room and had this funny little idea. I hope you enjoy! TITANS CURSE SPOILERS!
Warnings: Major character death (Bianca and Moria), mourning, sibling drama, semi angst, Percy and Reader make bad decisions, happy ending, gender neutral reader, readers age is mentioned but if you don’t like it you can change it no big deal
Word Count: 1k (1,350)
Being the oldest of the Di Angelo siblings, and a child of Hades, AND growing up in the 1930s, you had A LOT of responsibilities.
You often helped your mom with Nico and Bianca, chores around the house and anything that she really needed.
Nico and Bianca always went to you first for help, with homework or fixing something or really anything .
They always looked up to you, like, a ton.
Imagine you were old enough to know who your father was.
You knew he was Hades, god of the underworld, a literal Greek god, but you didn’t tell your siblings in fear that the monsters would come for them.
You tried to hide it from them as long as you could, your mother would watch them as you fought any monsters that would come for you and your siblings.
You cherished your family, besides your father, and loved them more than anything in the world.
That being said, your mothers death struck you the most.
It happened right in front of you, in front of all of you but you tried to hide the scene from your younger siblings.
Zeus, your uncle, had struck her right from the sky while she was with your family, including your father.
As Hades mourned his Maria in his arms, you couldn’t help but stare at the scene as you held the bodies of your sobbing siblings.
You were alone. You had to watch these children, not even in double digits, yourself. Gods know how much “help” Hades would truly grant you.
Age isn’t really too important, but if you want an age I'd say you're two-three years older than Bianca, making you 4-5 years older than Nico.
Your dad put you in the Lotus Casino after the death of your mother, causing decades to fly by while you hardly ever aged.
You were 14-15 when Percy, Grover, Thalia and Annabeth found you at school.
You weren’t aware that a faculty member in your school was a freaking manticore, or that one of your fellow students was literally part animal.
you did notice the peculiar teenagers at the school dance, yk, the ones from camp half-blood, that part you didn’t know.
When the disguised manticore took you and your siblings away, you assumed those kids were dangerous and that everyone was being evacuated.
It was only until you realized no other students were with you is when you started getting worried.
After the giant battle that resulted in the blonde girl being launched off a cliff, you stayed close to your brother as Bianca walked away with the so-called “Hunters of Artemis.”
You didn’t trust them, but you did trust Bianca’s judgement. That didn’t stop you from being insanely worried.
After you found out that Bianca became a Hunter of Artemis, you being livid was an understatement.
You were happy she’d found her place in the world and that she seemed happy, but you believed the decision was too rushed, and she hadn’t even consulted you!
You chose to stay with Nico at camp while the others went on the quest, and you were there for Nico and Percy’s conversation.
As Percy promised Nico your sister would live, you were doubtful. Still, you informed Percy that he would pay the price for her death.
Not because it was his fault, or that he didn’t try hard enough to save her, but because he had the nerve to promise a ten-year-old boy something he couldn't guarantee.
When they returned, you followed Nico as he asked Percy about his sister, but you knew. You felt it. Your sister was dead.
You didn’t cry, you couldn’t. You had to wait to be alone, you had to be strong for your brother. He needed comfort, and you were ready to provide that for him. The consequences for Percy’s selfish promise could wait.
They didn’t wait, however, as Nico’s emotions exploded.
Nico blamed Percy for his sister’s death. He broke his promise. He was to blame.
You tried to calm Nico down, but when he turned to you, face broken and tear stricken, his breath hitched.
“You knew.” He said, almost a whisper, a whisper of betrayal. “You knew and you didn’t tell me.”
You stayed silent, hesitant. You felt when she died. You knew who your father was, and you knew when death greeted your sister in a silent, cold black blanket.
That was Nico’s last straw.
He left behind only painful words and granted Grover, Annabeth and Percy with the very knowledge you tried so hard to keep hidden from everyone all of your life.
You and your siblings are children of Hades.
The trio said they wouldn’t speak on this secret for the time being, you thanked them.
And then, because of your foolishness, you mourned the loss of two siblings, the only people in your family you had left. Your father didn’t count. He wasn’t there, and now they weren’t either.
You wanted to search for Nico, he was only ten. He couldn’t survive alone, cold and scared, but they wouldn’t let you. You had to stay at camp, that was the rule.
So, as much as you hated it, you did. You only just found a permanent home, even if it didn’t feel like it, even if people didn’t like you, that’s what it was. It was home, it had to be, because nothing else was.
Percy constantly tried apologizing to you, you could tell guilt consumed him, and you were glad.
You didn’t punish him like you said you would, you were too tired and could tell the regret he felt for his actions was punishment enough.
You weren’t friends yet, but you weren’t enemies either. You were allies, yeah, that was a safe word, allies.
When Percy ran to you, informing you that he saw your brother, you nearly died. At least, you felt like it, it was as if your breath was caught in the wind.
Your brother? Was he alright? Did he look happy? How was he doing? Did he miss you like you missed him? Where was he? Does he hate you? Millions of questions consumed you, but you never spoke one.
Percy told you most of what he saw, you couldn’t tell if he was holding anything back, but you didn’t care. He saw your brother. Your baby brother.
You wanted more than anything to see him, but Percy talked you into staying at camp. You really didn’t want to, but Percy threatened to tell Chiron who your father was, so you listened resentfully, suddenly not counting him as much of an “ally” anymore.
One day while you were hanging out with Silent Beauregard in the strawberry fields, you sensed another presence of death
At first you thought someone in camp had passed, but it was a different feeling. A feeling of another child of Hades in the woods, and you ran to it while ignoring Silena’s worrisome calls.
Your brother was there, in your sight, in front of you, looking much older than before.
He was thirteen now, his dark eyes observed you with so much emotion, though his face was neutral. But he couldn’t have found much before you engulfed him in a breathtaking hug.
Tears filled your eyes as you felt him stiffen, suddenly remembering your last interaction you were about to retreat when he suddenly relaxed a little and hugged you tighter than you were hugging him.
“Hey, y/n,” he said in a breathy, crackly voice, and you sobbed out a sigh of relief, hugging him impossibly tighter. His voice was so different, he was so different, but it didn’t matter.
Your brother was here, with you, hugging you, talking to you. After almost three years of nothing, no knowledge about him, if he was okay, he was here. He was here and he didn’t hate you, at least he didn’t act like he did.
You knew, in that very moment, you’d do anything for him. You’d follow him anywhere, you’d never let anyone hurt him.
And you, yourself, would never hurt him again.
