20.12.23, wednesday

My main hobby is just procrastinating in any way I can. The plan was to make a cup of coffee and then start working. What actually happened is that I watched a 3 part video series (by james hoffmann ofc) on Aeropress coffee and made a few cups with different variables. Still not sure if I found The Recipe for me, but it’s getting better (tho I don’t love the coffee beans I have)

#altho i’m not sure I agree that inverted method is not worth the risks #maybe I just pour my water in too slow (bc I get nervous abt pouring too much) but there’s a fair bit of liquid that manages to get through #before I can place the vacuum on there #so I did it with inverted method #what I took from his recipe was the swirling instead of stirring and letting it rest for 30secs after to get a more even bed of coffee #I did 14g of coffee & 200g of water with a 5min brew -> swirl -> another 30seconds of letting it rest before pressing gentlyy for like 20-3 #seconds #but idk it’s a bit ’’one note’’#which could be the beans #I have medium roast rn and I prefer light roast but the light roast beans have been no where to be found lately idk why #(there aren’t many actual light roast beans and the other ones are waay out of my budget)#(or at least good ones; there’s the one affordable light roast that’s everywhere but I don’t like it that much (but tbf should’ve still #bought that instead of these ones I got))#like this is still way better than what the drip coffee of those beans are #and the achilles heel is that I don’t have a thermometer of any kind so my water temperature is guesswork every time #so tweaking variables is always a bit sketchy bc idk if I just had a better water temperature that time #studyblr #booklr #aesthetic #bookblr #books #study #reading #read #book #coffee #2023 #december 2023

jalter is one of those designs where I can like…understand the basic reasons why people think she’s hot (big titty tsundere in black) but I don’t get why she’s regarded as being one of the objectively hottest fgo characters (disregarding the writing side, speaking just in terms of designing)

Like. Even when her outfit is good she has a mullet? And the long haired bit is just very weirdly shaped?

Or like, her weird ass dresses that make no sense-I’m all for sexy cut outs, but why is there just one small flap on one side? What’s even with the side support?? This this is held on with hopes and dreams and it doesn’t even add to it bc her back is the exact same color as her hair so it all blends together

LIKE WHAT IS THIS??? WHAT IS THIS STUPID FLAP??? It’s not goth and it’s not tasteful asymmetry like her swimsuit it’s just THERE

Also her sword looks like it was wrapped in a spiky pipe cleaner and i hate that, sorry

Honestly, even her bob kind of annoys me despite it being actually accurate for her. Why is it so misshapen and clunky (yes ik irl jeanne just chopped hers off, but jalter was made firstly to look attractive and this is not it)

she isn’t really even that goth in terms of what she wears despite the memes, she really just wears a lot of black (and her first two outfits are tattered at the bottom) other than the Brillo pad handle and the eye shaped pink details there’s nothing that really makes her goth other than her color scheme and I’m a pedantic little hussy so that annoys me

Like idk. I don’t think she’s ugly or partially offensively designed or anything despite my earlier ranting but I don’t understand the absolute death grip she has on so many people even independent of her character arc. Even for a black knight-type design she’s very mildly done

gf officially went through being gaslit at the doctors with me 🎉🙈 held me while i cried afterwards so that was a nice little touch

#she thinks my surgeon is a bitch and has an ego #i cant say i disagree after today #she was more concerned about the state of my incision than anything #babe it’s been six months #it’s too late #i told you it was an issue two weeks after surgery when you could’ve helped me #and you told me it was normal #and now you’re concerned because it looks ridiculous #i’m so drained from dealing with doctors like this #it’s every single one these days #i really can’t do it anymore i’m just gonna let my body eat itself alive and i’ll see how long i last lmfao #only concerned because she sees the e scar as a direct reflection of her work #well maybe if you acknowledged me when i said i have a heritable connective tissue disorder that’s complicated surgical procedures #you should’ve at least written it down #delete later i’m just beyond defeated

i feel like i’ve been WAITING for the other shoe to drop wrt people’s opinions about watcher for this very reason. not that i think the reaction is completely not understandable but the greater the parasocial relationship, the greater the fallout as soon as public opinion shifts. you don’t have a relationship with these people they’re just content creators, chill

just here to proudly announce that I made my own Starbucks lemon loaf today with my own icing and it turned out amazing ^_^ and I made cream puffs last week and they were also amazing ^_^
