a/n: here i am finally with another story!! i’m sorry it took so long, i’ve been going through it a bit and trying to find motivation again. this definitely isn’t my best work, but nonetheless, i hope you enjoy :)
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ pairing: yelena belova x fem!reader
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ warnings: MINORS DNI (18+) smut, language, daddy kink, alcohol, reader receiving, jealousy
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ description: it is New Year’s Eve, and of course the one and only Tony Stark does not miss a chance to impress with a party. you attend this party under the impression it would be just like every other event, but you are soon proved wrong after you make a mistake to talk to Kate Bishop. your girlfriend sees your encounter from afar and chooses to deal with your wrongdoing in her own way… but do you learn your lesson?
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ word count: 2k
You watched the numbers increase on the small screen above you. The elevator whirled up an extensive amount of floors and you could hear music and voices getting louder as you reached the top. To top it off, you had to listen to lousy jazz music all the way up.
The elevator jolted to a stop and the noise right outside of the doors indicated the size of the group waiting on the other side.
You inhaled deeply and adjusted your clothing nervously. This was the last party of the season and you were all but happy. Parties and holidays brought out the worst in Yelena and you were ready for them to be over. Parties in particular were a sore spot and she had been acting childish as of lately.
She was easily irritated, didn’t engage in conversation much, wanting to leave early, and most importantly—her jealousy was through the roof.
Recently there were new recruits who have been hanging around more and getting to know everyone. Yelena isn’t the friendly type, especially when it comes to other people talking to you. Of course, you were simply trying to be nice while Yelena thought of it as a threat.
You assumed tonight would be no different.
As the elevator doors eased open the sounds were almost deafening. You couldn’t tell if everyone’s voices or the music was louder, either way you had a difficult time adjusting from the tiresome elevator tunes.
You should’ve known that New Year’s Eve would be a hit at the Avengers Tower, but somehow you thought everyone would be down in Time Square observing the annual ball drop. It was only an hour until midnight so there was still time.
“Hey… y/n!”
You see a hand waving through the crowd but can’t quite make out who it is.
From in between two individuals, Peter emerges panting. “Hey! I was trying to get your attention, but it’s kinda hard with all these people.”
You can’t help but laugh. “Hey, Pete. How long have you been up here?”
“Well if you’re talking about how long I’ve been up here at the party, it’s been about 2 hours…if you’re talking about how long I’ve been up here in general…all day.”
“Peter, why on earth have you been up here all day?”
He scratches the back of his neck. “You see, Sam said—”
“That’s all I need to know,” you stopped Peter. “Anyway, have you seen Yelena around here at all?”
“Last time I saw her she was over by the bar.”
You tried to see over the mass of people crammed into the room, but it was no luck.
“Damn, there’s too many people to tell. Thanks anyways, Pete.”
You slithered past sweaty bodies to make your way over to the bar in hopes of finding Yelena there. Even after all that work, Yelena was nowhere near the bar, but there was another friendly face waiting there.
“Hey, Kate,” you greeted her.
Kate smiled back with warm cheeks. “What’s up!”
“Not much,” you responded while sitting down on the stool next to her, “just enjoying another party.”
“You sound entirely enthusiastic about it, I can see,” Kate says.
“Oh yeah, I just live for these parties. I’m definitely not tired of them after the last 5 we’ve had.”
“I’m going to agree with you on that.”
You asked the bartender for a drink to pass the time as you sat with Kate.
“How have you been liking the tower?” you asked Kate as you sipped your drink.
“It’s definitely a change of pace. Working independently out on the field versus being here with the Avengers… it’s wicked cool!” Her excitement makes you smile, remembering the time when you first were recruited.
“Don’t get too excited, sometimes you miss working alone,” you chuckle.
There was an awkward silence after your last comment, which made you think that Kate might take it the wrong way. “Don’t get me wrong, I love working in teams, but sometimes independent work helps clear your mind.”
“Makes sense… does that have anything to do with Yelena?”
You jolt your head up. “Why do you say that?”
“Well, for one, Yelena is usually the only one you go out on missions with, and two, she’s staring at you like you killed Fanny.”
Your heart leaps into your throat as you turn to face the horror Kate warned you about. Kate wasn’t exaggerating. Yelena looked as if you had just committed the crime of the century.
“Is everything alright between the two of you?” Kate asked, apprehensively.
Your eyes never left Yelena while talking to Kate. “I’m not too sure now…I’m going to have to catch up with you later.”
You left Kate at the bar as you made your way over to Yelena’s watching eyes. The closer you got to her, the more your nerves overcame you. You weren’t sure what her problem was or what you did, and you didn’t want to suffer through the consequences of her anger—especially not tonight.
You were facing her now up close, letting the music pound into your eardrums while she slowly sipped on her drink. “Fun party, right?” Yelena yelled.
“Not really.” You stared at her once again, hoping she might elaborate on her previous death stare.
“No? Hmm, that’s too bad, I’m having a great-”
“Yelena, cut the act.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“That’s a fucking lie and you know it.”
“I don’t know anything.” She smirked, but not the good kind of smirk. It was the kind of smirk where you know you had either fucked up or she did something awful.
“What did you do?” you asked.
“I didn’t do anything.” Her emphasis gave you all the clues you needed.
“Then what did I do?”
Yelena didn’t answer. She kept standing there taking small, occasional sips of her drink, almost as if the conversation was just as meaningless as the party.
“Yelena, I’m not doing this here.”
“Well, then let’s find somewhere else to do it then.”
You didn’t like her attitude at all, but you also didn’t want to leave the conversation unfinished. You looked around behind Yelena to see one of the many hallways they could sneak off to. You grabbed Yelena’s hand and pulled her down the hallway into a room.
“Is this satisfactory for you?” you asked, matching her attitude.
Yelena looked around the closet you managed to find. “It’s a bit small, but-”
“Oh, would you stop it!”
“No!” Yelena placed her hand firmly around your neck, slamming you against the closet door. “You stop it!”
You looked at her in shock. This wasn’t to say that this gesture was out of the ordinary from Yelena, but it was her ability to shut down so quickly that took you by surprise.
“You’ve been acting like a little slut lately,” she sternly said. Yelena could tell you were confused by her accusation. “Aw, you need help remembering how you embarrassed daddy?”
You tried to move your head forward to release Yelena’s right grip from your neck. “Yelena-” you started, but your head was pressed against the door once again.
“Don’t you know you don’t get to talk to other girls?” She moved her lips closer to your ear. “Don’t you know you’re mine, baby?” she whispered so delicately into your ear, your hair standing on edge.
Kate.
Yelena must have seen the realization written all over your face. You had been cutting it up with Kate while you were waiting to find Yelena. Little did you know, Yelena had been observing the two of you for a short time.
“Yelena, it’s not what it looks like,” you whispered.
“Oh, it’s not? Because it looked like you were interested in messing around with someone else, hmm?”
“No, that's not-”
“Ah ah,” she tuts. “I don’t want to hear excuses, baby…prove it to me.”
Your chest tightened. “Prove… what?”
Yelena smirked at you while her hand traced down the front of your frame. Her fingers ever so delicately slipped under the band of your pants.
“Yelena…” You could tell there was no stopping her from what she aimed to get from you.
“I want you,” she started, pausing while pushing her fingers past the barrier of your underwear, “to prove I’m yours.”
You were eye to eye now. Yelena’s eyes hung lazily with lust and revenge. She wanted to make you squirm… make you pay for how you made her feel.
She started rubbing gently against your clit, just enough to tease you. “Say it… ‘I’m yours.’”
“Yelena, please…”
“Say it!” she said, getting impatient. Her mouth was brushing against your ear, her breath hot against your skin. She bit your ear gently, hoping that you would make any kind of noise to grab her attention.
“I-I’m yours,” you whispered.
“That’s not loud enough, I can’t hear you.” With her words she picked up pace.
“I’m yours,” you moaned. You grabbed onto the wall in preparation for your legs to give out very soon. You even found yourself moving your hips against Yelena’s hand, your body craving her touch even more.
But you were angry with her. You were angry that Yelena was angry over nothing. This wasn’t unusual, which was the frustrating part, but you couldn’t help but drown in pleasure. Though it wasn’t Yelena’s intention to put you in a better mood, it was working either way.
“Such a good girl riding my fingers for me, but I want you to keep going. You can’t cum until I tell you to, baby.” The more she edged you on it only made you come closer to the edge.
In addition, you suddenly became aware of how loud you were being. You gained consciousness and were afraid everyone could hear you.
What if they notice you’re gone? What if they heard you? Or worse… What if they find you?
Your brain began scrambling. You couldn’t focus on the present, only what lies beyond the small closet the two of you were tucked behind.
Yelena could tell you were antsy, which only caused her more grief. Her other hand that was placed firmly on your hip tightened. She was keeping you in place so there was nowhere for you to run.
“I didn’t tell you to stop; keep talking,” she demanded. “I want you to scream my name loud enough to forget hers.”
The anger you were feeling started to melt away into only an ecstasy of pleasure. You couldn’t resist the way she felt against you, and you couldn’t possibly turn her away now.
“I’m yours,” you responded for her.
“That’s a good girl, but you’re going to need to be louder if you really mean it.”
“I’m yours!”
“There you go, pretty girl. I knew you could do it.” Her words went straight to your head, sending you farther into a daze. Your previous fear of your closet endeavors being seen had faded away, now all that was left was you and Yelena.
“You getting close, baby?”
She knew you so well. Your legs were quivering, your breathing was erratic, and your nails were digging deeper into the back of Yelena’s neck.
“I know you’re so close, but I need to hear you,” she begged of you.
“Please, Yelena,” you whined. “I’ll be good.”
“Aw, will you baby? Have you learned your lesson?”
“Y-yes.”
“Then show me…cum baby.”
“Oh, Yelena!”
You came undone per her command. You tried to cover your mouth to muffle the sounds that could be heard outside the door, but Yelena quickly swatted your hand away. She wanted everyone to know you were hers.
After you calmed down, you tried your best to support yourself on your weak legs. You opened your eyes to meet Yelena’s piercing stare. You definitely felt better but you could tell that Yelena wasn’t completely satisfied.
You had lost track of time until you heard the large crowd outside the door counting down to midnight. Of course you expected a kiss from Yelena for the occasion, but instead you watched her wipe her fingers on her pants and head out of the door.
You were suddenly left alone as the celebration outside continued. You leaned against the door and slid down until you reached the bottom. As you sat there, you wondered what possible lesson Yelena could be teaching you by leaving you alone at the top of the New Year.

The Heiress and the Lady of the House (part 3)
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
A/N: I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out where I want this story to go. I think I have an idea now. I have also decided to switch to first person, I find it way easier to write that way and hopefully you all find it easier to read. I am going to switch over the other parts as well. We even have two new characters to join the fun!
word count: 3k
warnings/tags: fem!reader, original characters, usual shenanigans, mentions of hetty/trevor
End of November- end of month 1
Hetty's been avoiding me. It's been two weeks since we danced and kissed, and she hasn't spoken a word. Now she'll barely look at me, and if she does it's like she sees straight through me. I notice her hang around Trevor more. Whilst at first, I thought it was Hetty being her usual cryptic self, I notice that her touches on him linger more than she usually does. Recently, thought I saw Trevor checking her out. Yet again it’s Trevor he checks every girl within the Woodstone property line out, so I’m not sure I can look into that entirely.
“What is wrong, you have long face like horse,” Thor asks.
“Oh nothing, just silly girl stuff,” I say
“Would you like to talk about it? Thor really good at listening and giving advice. If you have enemy, I show you how to crush skull. Very easy,”
“She’s not having enemy trouble, she’s having love trouble.” Sass interrupts
“Shush!” I say hoping he lowers his voice.
“Am I wrong?” Sass says with a know-it-all all smirk.
My lack of answer causes his smirk to grow into a smile.
“I appreciate the concern, but I feel like I should talk to Het-” I catch myself, “I should talk to the person who is giving me a long face before I go sharing my feelings,”
“Nice save,” Sass says before leaving with Thor. I groan inwardly.
I don’t have much time in the day to talk to Hetty as I'm constantly tied up with guests. The upcoming holidays have brought a larger amount than what I had initially thought, so I feel like I’m being pulled in hundreds of directions. I barely have time to spend with the ghosts, let alone any time to myself. Thankfully Sam and Jay had the insight to allow me to hire a little holiday help. A couple of friends from university have been wanting to meet up with each other, so I offered them seasonal positions. It’s like killing two birds with one stone. Before they arrive, I sit the ghosts down to tell them of the upcoming changes.
“Everyone I want to let you know that I will have a couple of friends helping me to keep this place running. They do know that I can see ghosts, and they as of recently know about you. They will only be here until after the New Year, then it’ll be just us all over again,” I explain, “My friend Nadine is going to stay with me in my room while my friend Riley will be staying at my house. This way we don’t lose any rooms, and I do not have to have any shenanigans from trying to bunk you people up. Nadine is a chef, so she’ll help me with the cooking. Riley is my jack of all trades so he’ll do anything I ask.”
The ghosts nod their heads in agreement and simply go about to milling around as they usually do.
“y/n can we help with decorations? Now that we have you around, we can help get the house all festive since we can touch things!” Flower suggests.
“I love it! That’s a great idea Flower!” I say.
“What is?” Flower questions
Oh, Flower. “Alright, I should have expected that,” I say before going off to the basement.
Soon the ghosts and I begin to bring out the holiday decorations. Instead of putting up a commercial tree, Thor and I went out to the forest to cut down a pine on the property and brought it back to the house. Pete and Trevor string the lights while Flower begins to sort through the ornaments under the guidance of Sass. Alberta and Isaac string together the popcorn garland, and Hetty oversees the entire operation.
“Aren’t you going to help Hetty?” Isaac asks
“As Lady of the House, I am helping! By supervising,” Hetty says nose slightly in the air
The front door chimes before a familiar voice yells out “Hello!”
I gasp, quickly leaving my post at the popcorn bowl to go to the lobby.
“Nadine! Riley!” I practically squeal.
I first run to Nadine, we exchange kisses on the cheek before embracing in a hug. Then I go to Riley who picks me up and spins me with ease.
“Oh, it’s been too long!” He says squeezing me in his arms.
“Alright, you can put me down, stronghold,” I laugh as he places me back down on my feet. As he puts me down, I happen to look in the direction of the room I just left. I see the ghosts peering their heads around the corner like children before quickly going back into the room. The only one who does not move positions and stands in full view is Hetty with an unreadable expression. I assume it’s Hetty being curious, and I shoot her a wink before I take Nadine and Riley into the kitchen.
“How have you been since graduation?” Nadine asks while she and Riley sit at the table
“The same, honestly just trying to find my place in the world. Now that I’ve become a heiress, I feel as if I’ve been operating on autopilot,” I reply. I grab a snack tray from the fridge before making my way to them
“Yeah, how come you never knew your grandmother was super loaded?” Riley questions before popping a grape in his mouth.
“Honestly, we never talked about it. She always made sure I knew the importance of hard work probably so when I became an heiress I wouldn’t act like an entitled one. My parents said they saved for me to go to any school I chose. The money I received from their death went to an account I only used to pay for my car and rent. Now I work to keep myself busy, and this isn’t bad gig. I have 8 forms of entertainment plus guests to keep me busy ” I say
“Speaking of 8 forms of entertainment, what about that ghost you said was cute,” Nadine asks.
“Can you keep your voice down? They’re dead, but they hear everything. They would never let me live that down if they found out,” I say feeling a blush on my cheeks.
“Have you told them how you can see them yet?” Riley asks.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone about it, besides my two trusted friends,” I say referring to them.
“They don’t ask questions?” Nadine questions
“Oh they are plenty curious, but I tend to avoid the subject as much as I can. We just figured out that I can do more than see them. Anything I touch, they can also touch,” I tell them.
“Oh, so they can eat and drink now?” Riley asks now sitting up in his seat.
“Not necessarily. We tried that, and it ended with a lot of food ending up on the floor,” I say remembering the memory of Sass trying to eat pizza and failing miserably.
“I guess you can say it goes straight through them,” Riley says knocking his head back in laughter. Nadine and I look at each other and roll our eyes.
“Oh come on guys, that was funny!” Riley says trying to get us on his side.
“Sure it was,” Nadine mocks.
“But back to before, how is it exactly that you can see them? We know that you had that drowning incident, but that doesn’t really explain how you can see them,”
“Well, it’s not like exactly read up on it. I just know that I had a near-death experience, and I guess since I was in between two worlds, I can see both sides,”
“Yeah, but you’re saying only the ghosts have powers. Your boss Sam sees ghosts, but she doesn’t have a power,”
“She was only clinically dead for 3 minutes. I had a full-blown Meredith Grey incident, and I was dead for a while,” I say.
“Well “Meredith Grey” maybe a part of you is still trapped on the other side, you never fully returned,” Nadine says
“I don’t know Nadine, like I said I don’t really read up on it. I just accepted that it happened. In fact this is the longest I’ve talked about the incident outside of therapy,”
“Sorry, we don’t mean to push,” Riley says putting his hand on mine
“No, I understand, I would be curious too,” I say turning my hand over and giving her hand a squeeze.
“Are any of them in the room now?” Nadine asks looking around for a sign of them
“No, in fact, I don’t hear them either. Let me check that they haven’t fallen in some hole or have been ghost-napped again,”
“Again?” Riley asks.
“Long story,” I say getting up from the table.
I turn the corner exiting to be met with 6 guilty faces. It’s like watching children getting their hands caught in the cookie jar.
“Oh, this is the kitchen guys, not the living room. Onward men…and women,” Isaac says as they hurriedly leave.
“I thought we were going to the kitchen to eavesdrop on the living to see if we could get any hot gossip,” Flower says before Alberta drags her along with the rest of the group.
“They were eavesdropping weren’t they?” Nadine asks.
“Oh most definitely,” I say chuckling to myself.
“Were they all there?” Riley asks.
“Most of them, Trevor and Hetty were missing, but they tend to go off a lot more often as of late,” I reply walking back to the table.
Riley and Nadine share a quick look before quickly returning their gaze to me.
“How about I give y’all a tour?” I ask.
Beginning of December - month 2
I turn the corner to go towards the lobby, and I almost trip over a left-out decorations box. Before I fall to the floor, Riley is there to catch me. Thor was right, I really need to watch my step around here.
“Watch it, Princess, would hate to break the merchandise,” Riley laughs as he steadies me on my feet.
“Oh, you two get a room already!” Nadine teases from the top of the stairs having seen the scene from the top of the stairs. She descends the stairs and goes out the front door. No doubt going on her morning run.
“Oh my knight in shining armor, you couldn’t afford me if you tried. I’m quite expensive with the most expensive tastes,” I tease back.
“Oh you wish,” Riley says picking the box and taking it to the basement.
I roll my eyes. “Oh, I most definitely do. I’d take a night with those muscles any day,” I say before he’s out of earshot. I turn back to my task, and I see Hetty.
“Hey Hetty,” I say giving her a smile.
“What is the relationship between you and this Riley?” Hetty asks looking me in my eyes.
“Um friendly? I guess,” I say raising an eyebrow in confusion.
“You guess?” Hetty’s eyebrow also raises in question. I try not to focus on the warm feeling I get when she looks at me like that.
“Riley and I are just friends, and we have been since my freshman year of university,” I tell her.
“So you recently saying you "wouldn’t mind a night with those muscles" meant nothing? ” Hetty questions
“Meant nothing,” I assure Hetty.
Hetty purses her lips, pondering my answer. She lets out a “hmph” before going on her way.
“Hetty?” I ask before she leaves completely
“Sorry, I have to meet with Trevor,” Hetty says without missing a beat
“Oh, I was going to ask if you wanted to go for a walk. The guests don’t check in for another couple of hours and-” I begin.
“Sorry dear, I simply must go,” Hetty says before trotting off.
I try to ignore the burn in my throat. I shake my head at the feeling of loss and jealousy.
I try to keep my mind focused on the guests and running the B&B as efficiently as I can. “No use crying over spilled milk,” I tell myself.
Riley, Nadine, and I work quite well together. Riley is a great fit at the front desk charming the guests as they check in. Nadine has been a great help in the kitchen, she always seems to know exactly what it is that I need. I dip my tasting spoon into a new pasta sauce recipe I’ve been wanting to try.
“How does it taste?” Nadine asks
“It’s fine, I think I’m missing something,” I say.
“Here let me taste,” Nadine says. I hand her the tasting spoon.
“Taste like you need just a pinch more garlic and maybe a dash more of the red wine,” Nadine says handing the spoon back to me
I do as she suggests, and I moan in delight as I taste the now-perfected sauce.
“Oh this should be bottled,” I say.
“The heiress is going to start a sauce company? What will Ragu do?” Nadine laughs as she finishes dipping the dessert fruit in chocolate.
“You want some of the leftover chocolate?” Nadine asks dipping her finger into the bowl.
“Is the sky blue?” I ask turning my sauce off and putting it off the heat. I wash my hands and also dip my finger in the bowl. As I bring my finger to my mouth, a bit of chocolate falls on my chest. Before I can get to it, Nadine has reaches her finger over to grab the missed chocolate and brings it to her mouth.
Hetty enters the kitchen at the exact moment Nadine's finger swipes the chocolate from my chest and to her lips.
“Oh I see we just let everyone eat off of each other,” Hetty says in annoyance before exiting the kitchen. “She might as well just lick it off you the next time,”
“Nadine, excuse me for a moment. Ghost duty calls,” I excuse myself placing the dish towel in my hand on the counter.
“Oh yeah, of course, I’m going to finish putting up the small decorations if you don’t mind,” Nadine says untying her apron.
“No you go ahead, I’ll finish in the kitchen once I’m done,” I say leaving the kitchen to catch up with Hetty.
“Save me some chocolate!” Riley calls from the lobby.
I find Hetty upstairs living room.
“Hetty, what is going on? Your temper with me seems to be at a short fuse,”
“It has not,” Hetty says avoiding my gaze.
I hear Riley call for me, and I wish he had better timing.
“You might want to go see what your muscled desk boy wants,” Hetty says.
I nearly scream in annoyance and frustration, but I decide not to.
“This conversation is not over,” I say before I storm past Alberta heading down the stairs. Alberta heads into the living room with Hetty and blocks Hetty from exiting.
“Hetty what is going on?” Alberta asks
“I haven’t the slightest idea of what you’re talking about,” Hetty says
“You are driving that girl up a wall, and not in a good way,”
“I have not. I have been simply-” Hetty begins.
“Ignoring her,” Isaac says cutting Hetty off as he enters the room.
“Oh great another gossip,” Hetty says as she sits on the couch,” Please tell me what my other grievances are.”
“Hetty we are worried about you. When she first got here, you were so excited to have as you said “another woman of high status” to join you. Then you walked around like the cat who got the cream once you finally kissed her,”
“I did not,” Hetty says fidgeting with her hands.
“You most certainly did!” Alberta laughs, “ She must be some kisser because it was almost as if you sat on the washing machine again.
Hetty blushes at the memory, she hates her how her friends can see through her facade.
“Hetty what is it that makes you act like this?” Isaac says sitting next to Hetty
“That’s the issue, Isaac. I do not know! I haven’t felt like this since I tried to run off with that painter,”
It dawns on Isaac,” Hetty do you know what it means?”
“Obviously not,” Hetty says waiting for Isaac to enlighten her.
“Hetty, you two were practically inseparable. The two of you were practically finishing each other’s sentences, going on walks, and having movie dates,”
“Oh remember when you told me that you enjoyed how the sun made her eyes sparkle on your walks,” Alberta chimes in.
“Remember that one time, we caught them cuddled up watching Bodices and Barons?” Isaac adds.
“Oh, how could I forget they looked so cute! (y/n) draped over Hetty with Hetty’s arms possesively wrapped around her,” Alberta says.
“The both of you are absolutely incorrigible,” Hetty says in defeat.
“And you’re blushing and in love!” Isaac says kicking his feet in the air.
“I most absolutely am not,” Hetty says snatching her hands away.
“Hetty and (y/n) sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G,” Alberta begins to sing.
Hetty simply puts her face in her hands. Hetty was so out of sorts even her mannerisms were becoming too unladylike for her. Hetty decides it’s time to grab the bull by the horns.
“If you two are done acting so childly, I am going to go and find and talk to (y/n),” Hetty says rising from the couch. She blames the butterflies in her stomach on the sudden change of posture rather than nerves.
“Finally! Have fun and don’t come back until you look like you’ve had fun with the washer,” Alberta calls. This sends Isaac and Hetty in a fit of laughter.
Hetty leaves the room and goes to enter your bedroom. Hetty begins to debate on whether she should enter or not, and then on a whim decides to enter the room. Upon entry, she has to fight to keep down a gasp as she watches Nadine kiss you. She quickly leaves the room and feels the butterflies in her stomach turn to lead.

Gilded Constellations | wolfstar x reader
Series Masterlist | Previous episode
Pairing: Wolfstar x Reader Word Count: 6.2 K Warnings: none Prompt: As Hogwarts days begin, challenges arise, with exhilarating morning flights, and laughter filled environments. Secret struggles surface but a caring gesture from Remus and the Marauders promises to uplift spirits and forge lasting bonds. This IS a wolfstar x reader fic, but it's incredibly slow burn. They won't start all dating each other until we're very deep into the story, but I promise the long wait will be worth it.
Good times
As you walked inside the Gryffindor common room for the first time Lily was sitting on the couch, but stood up the minute you showed up “There you are! I was worried sick!” She told Remus, gave James a look of disdain and turned back to the taller boy “I thought you’d be faster to bring her here.”
“The staircase wasn’t cooperating,” Remus explained. “We had to use a different path.”
“At least you didn’t get caught.” She said taking a deep breath and sitting back down on the couch, now finally relaxing a bit.
“I brought some food from the kitchens,” said Peter, pulling out a kerchief tied at the top and placing it on the table in front of the fire. “It’s just some scones with cream and jam, but I thought we might get hungry.”
“Thanks, Pete,” Lily said as she untied the knot and the top and grabbed one of the little treats.
Then the portrait opened again, letting someone else inside.
You stood just behind Remus, turned towards Lily rather than the entrance but the moment you heard that voice, you froze. It's Sirius.
“Excellent job guys!” He said with a bright smile. Remus turned to him and shot a warning look, to point out they weren’t alone. Sirius saw Lily and nodded “With the evacuation of the great hall–“ he corrected “It was brilliant how you handled it, Lils, Moony, you’re both top tier prefects.”
James rolled his eyes but then a smile appeared on his face, a very James-like smile in fact, filled with charm and mischievousness. “We’ve actually got something to show you.” He said and unexpectedly pulled you from behind Remus in a way that you’d end up facing Sirius instead.
And damned merlin, Sirius was even more beautiful than you remembered. You’d like to think you’d made peace with the idea of being ghosted, with the idea of never seeing Sirius again, but standing right in front of him, now taller, with broader shoulders, longer hair, and the same stunning eyes, made you want to apparate to anywhere but there. So you just awkwardly smiled and waved, hoping he wouldn’t just storm out of the place without even saying a word.
“(Y/N)? What… what are you doing here?” He asked with a frown.
“Hey to you too, old pal,” you said, struggling to not sound as awkward as you felt.
“She’s here Pads!” Said James excitedly, “She’s gonna study with us!”
“Yeah,” Peter added, “She transferred this year like you wished she would back in the day.”
To that you raised an eyebrow, you’d seen his friends get excited when you introduced yourself to them, but it seemed weird that after ghosting you, Sirius told his friends he wished you were a student in Hogwarts “And here I thought you’d never want to see me again,” you said with a bit of a teasing smile towards him, trying to hide the doubt that still lingered in your brain. Could it really be that it had all been some kind of misunderstanding?
“What?” He asked, visibly confused.
“Since you never replied to any of my letters…”
He seemed shocked for a moment and then exhaled in a defeated tone “Walburga.”
“Your mom?” You asked frowning before it downed you “Your mom.”
He nodded “I did always wonder why you never tried to reach out.”
You thought about what he said for a moment and then smiled “Seems like we have a lot to catch up on then.”
Then James placed an arm on top of Sirius's shoulder “And I’m sure you’ll have plenty of time to do that, but now we must go to bed. Tomorrow we’re flying first thing in the morning. We gotta practice before we open the tryouts.”
“Which positions are you missing?” You asked him before anyone had the chance to stop you. Once James started talking about quidditch, it was hard to get him to shut up again.
“We lost a keeper and 2 chasers,” James explained “They were from 7th and graduated last summer.”
“And you fly in the mornings, always?” You asked surprised.
“Gotta stay in top shape, I’m the captain after all.”
“Oh, that’s amazing. Mind if I join you tomorrow? I wanna test my luck on the tryouts.”
He raised an eyebrow “Which position?”
“Uh… I used to play seeker,” he winced at that, “but I’ll try for keeper I guess, I’ve got good eyes for catching things,” you replied with a smile.
“Careful Potter, she may come take your place!” Sirius teased, “All though, for all I know she might be terrible at flying.”
With Sirius teasing you like that, it was as if all those years hadn’t gone by, no resentments, no suffering. Just the two of you, continuing on where you left off. “Oh, isn’t that right? You promised me a race a couple of years ago, but that never played out.”
“Is that a challenge?” He asked but when you were about to reply Lily stood up and placed her arm over your shoulder.
“Might have been,” She said “But we must now go to our room,” she said pointing at you and herself “and you must go back to sleep if you really want to wake up at 5AM.”
“5 AM?” Frowned Sirius.
“Classes start at 7 tomorrow, if you want enough time for flying and breakfast, you’ll have to get up then.” She said before dragging you towards the stairs.
You turned your head, finding it hard to stop staring at Sirius, it was almost like a dream. “Good night boys,” You said, waving at them as you followed behind Lily, Sirius also had a hard time to stop staring at you as you walked next to the red headed girl.
As you were halfway up the stairs she whispered “It’s a terrible idea to challenge Sirius like that, knowing him, he’ll make a spectacle of the race.”
You stopped for a minute, looking at Lily with a cocky grin “It’s only a bad idea if I lose.”
She rolled her eyes with a smile “I barely know you, and so far I can tell you’re just as thick headed as that lot,” she said as she nodded towards them. “Let’s go, I’ll show you our room.”
“We’re together?” You asked with a smile.
She nodded, mirroring your expression “We were the only room with only 3 girls.”
Inside the room were Mary and Marlene, Mary was sitting on her bed while reading a book and Marlene was drying her hair with a towel near a door, which you assumed would be the bathroom. “That’s your bed,” Marlene said, pointing at the bed closest to the door. “It was here when we got to the room, that’s how we figured you’d be with us.”
“That and the trunk with your name on it,” said Mary looking up from her book “We thought you’d gotten lost in the ordeal, but Lily told us you were with Remus.”
“We would’ve gone out to find you otherwise,” added Marlene. “Lily wanted to go even if you were with Remus but we told her you’d be alright.”
“You wanted to go get me?” You asked, turning towards her.
“I felt responsible for leaving you on the stairs,” she explained “I didn’t want you to get in trouble because of me.”
“Thank you,” You told her with a smile. Lily went for a shower and you started to unpack your stuff. Marlene approached you when you pulled your broom out and you talked about quidditch until Lily was out of the shower, at which point you let Marlene have the broom and went for a shower yourself.
When you were back in the room Marlene had already placed your broom on a broom stand on the wall. “It deserved to be admired,” she’d said when you noticed and you nodded with a smile. After that, you’d all gotten comfortable in your beds and the lights were turned off.
“Good night girls,” You said with a smile, after months of feeling lonely, you finally started to feel like you belonged somewhere again. And you were so glad the hat had placed you in Gryffindor, with these girls, who had been all incredibly nice to you, and you were even happy you’d met Remus and his friends, who seemed like they would get you in so many adventures and mischief.
In the morning you were awoken by a small little metal bird picking on your face lightly, it was your mom’s gift before you got to the school, a very elegant cuckoo clock, she’d bought at a furniture store in Diagon Alley. Even if it took you a minute to fully comprehend what was going on you silently stood up and changed, pulling a thick wool sweater over your head and a pair of training pants, thick and sturdy in case of falls. All though, because they were the same you had since you were in the team back at your older school, they were a little tighter than you remembered. Perhaps you really had a growth spurt over the summer.
You grabbed a pair of goggles, your broom, and sneaked out of the room without making any noise. James was already in the common room, tapping his foot as he looked up at the stairs, hair just as messy as the day you’d met him. He looked up at you and smiled. “How is it that you take less time to get ready than Sirius?” He said and then took a deep breath “I guess it is because it’s Sirius who’s getting ready.” You raised your eyebrows in response “He’s brushing his hair,” James complained. You just laughed, longer hair’s harder to care for, but being told about Sirius’ vanity by his roommate was just hilarious. That was when Potter noticed your broom “Is that a Dark Nimbus?” He asked, staring at it from behind.
You nodded “Brand new, mom got it for me to try and make me feel better about moving.”
He stood up and got closer to take a look at it “It’s stunning!” He said with a smile as he accommodated his glasses to see better. “I have a Starmist,” he said pointing towards his broom behind him. “I got it last year, I'd like to see how she fares against your Nimbus.”
“Well, we’ll get to see it today,” You replied with a smile, that’s when you heard a door close and the two of you turned towards Sirius, who was walking down the stairs with a SweepFire he’d had for a couple of years, but that looked well cared for, it had been James’.
“Why are you wearing green?” He asked as soon as he saw you.
You looked down at your sweater and saw it change to burgundy right in front of your eyes, frowning and turning towards him “Did you just… magic dyed my sweater into a different colour?”
“Can’t be seen flying around with someone wearing Slytherin house colours,” he said as he continued walking towards the door “It’d ruin my reputation.”
You raised your eyebrows and gave James a questioning look, he just shrugged in response and followed behind Sirius, you caught up with him shortly after. As you walked down towards the patio James told you all about being Team Captain and how he had to make sure everyone was in top shape. “After the tryouts, it’s not just gonna be flying in the mornings, we’ll have practice at least 4 times a week with the whole team.”
Once on the patio, the three of you got on your brooms. And per James’s instructions did 5 laps around the castle. It was a chilly morning, so you were glad you’d put on the thicker sweater. Once you were done James pulled a quaffle and you all passed it between each other. At some point, He shot it a little farther behind you and you had to fly back to get it, bumping into Sirius and causing him to lose balance.
You responded quickly, stabilising his broom with yours and pulling his arm to stop him from falling, he’d managed to catch the quaffle with his other hand. James had flown towards the two of you as quickly as he could but by the time he arrived you were already pulling Sirius back up and laughing about it. “Maybe we should get some of those muggle hooks so you don’t fall off your broom,” you told him with a small knock on his arm.
“Hey, even without them, I’ve caught it more times than you!” He said with a proud smile.
“Not true!” You said trying to take it from his hands “That was my catch!” You nodded towards the ball in his hand as you attempted to grab it, Sirius used one of his hands to keep you back while he stretched the other arm to maintain the quaffle out of your grip.
“This one? But it’s in my hands.”
“No! I caught you, you caught it, it’s mine by right of catching you first.”
James raised his eyebrows at the exchange and smiled mischievously as he flew towards Sirius' other arm and grabbed the quaffle, flying as fast as possible in another direction. He loved flying, like he always had, but he loved the fact that his best friend was genuinely smiling even more. It wasn’t very often that Sirius smiled like that since he’d run away from his house over the summer.
“Oi!” Sirius complained as he saw James fly by and then turned towards you with a look, with a small smile and a raise of his eyebrows he communicated his plan.
You nodded mirroring his expression and the two of you turned your brooms towards James, flying side by side to corner him.
Once by his side, the two of you threw your hands toward James and tried to take the ball from him. Sirius managed to take it and from slightly above shouted, “Whoever gets to the courtyard with the quaffle in their hands wins!” He then threw the ball as far as he could.
You smiled at that and plummeted towards the direction the quaffle was thrown. You caught it just before it reached the floor.
James, who was still stunned by having the ball stolen from his hands so quickly, saw the entire thing from his broom “Wow!” he said genuinely surprised “She’s really good.” He then flew towards Sirius, who had already managed to take the ball from your hands. You managed to get your hands on the ball again and flew backwards towards James.
“Hey, James!” You called the boy, flying upside down above him “Would you mind telling me where the courtyard is?” You asked politely.
He gave you a pouty look and flew upwards, taking the quaffle back in an unexpected movement. And as he flew ahead turned back with a teasing smile “Sure thing (Y/N), I’ll take you there!” He shouted before flying towards the courtyard with the quaffle itself in his hands.
“You cheat!” You shouted with a grin and flew behind him, trying to catch up. Sirius was already hovering close to the courtyard and was planning to stop James by flying in front of him, but didn’t realise you were flying so close behind him that the moment the three of you were close enough you all crashed onto each other and started falling a few feet towards the grass.
“Arresto Momentum!” Someone screamed from the courtyard and the three of you froze for a moment, once you moved again the impulse forced the three of you towards the grass, pulling a couple of metres of it along with the you. The brooms had gone flying in all directions and then, you all ended up tangled against each other.
“James?!” Asked Lily who had been the one to cast the spell. “What in the bloody– Are you wankers?!”
The moment you saw her you started laughing, so much so that you didn’t remember the last time you’d laughed so openly, you were almost crying. Sirius and James laughed alongside you, as Lily stared with apprehension. You soon realised you had your head on top of Sirius' back and your feet under James’ torso. When the laughter died out the three of you helped each other stand up. You had scraped your knee and leg, James had scraped his arm and Sirius’ lip was parted.
Lily started scolding you once you were up “Look at you three! You could’ve gotten seriously hurt!” She said and then gave Sirius a warning look before he made it a joke of his name “You can’t pull (Y/N) into your dangerous games like that!”
“But she started it,” complained Sirius brattily “She almost threw me off my broom.”
“That was an accident!” you argued back with your finger raised. “I was gonna catch the ball.”
“You shouldn’t reverse without looking first,” he said with both of his hands raised in defence “basic flying principles.”
“But I did look! You appeared out of nowhere.”
Lily rolled her eyes and took a deep breath as he saw the two of you bicker. Then James started to look around “So who won?” He asked with a frown, to which Lily crossed her arms and stared at him.
“Well, I had the ball right before we reached the floor,” You said.
“Yeah, but it fell off your hands as soon as you took it from James and bounced back straight to my face,” He said pointing at his parted lip.
“ALL RIGHT! “ said Lily, shutting everyone up with a clap. “Nobody won, you’re all losers, now, I’m gonna take (Y/N) back to the room so she can put on her uniform before breakfast. I’m sure Marlene should have something to put on her scrape.”
“What about mine?” Asked James pulling his arm up with a pout.
“Well you can take care of it yourselves, after all you know full well where the nurses’ office is,” she responded and pulled you towards the castle.
“Please tell me you will be more careful next time you fly with them?” She said stopping you before you reached the stairs and looking straight into your eyes “I know it can be tempting to play their game but, James and Sirius don’t have a straight sense of danger, I swear they’ve been to the nurse's office over 100 times each.”
You nodded “I got caught up in the fun,” You said as you started to feel the pain in your leg once the adrenaline faded “Lily, I hadn’t flown like that in, years,” you admitted “I wasn’t thinking when I launched myself behind Potter and then Sirius came out of nowhere,” you told her “I couldn’t break on time.”
“On quidditch games there’s supervision. Who knows how much worse you’d be if I hadn’t been there!” She said finally exhaling. You looked down and nodded. Then she leaned in closer “But I do believe you won,” she whispered with a small smile motioning for you to follow behind her.
That left you stunned. Up until that moment, you’d thought Lily was all about following the rules and not having all that much fun, especially since she was a prefect. But that moment proved you wrong. Oh the adventures you’d have with her in the castle, they all awaited you.
Lily took you back to your dorm where you took a really fast shower and changed into your uniform. Marlene didn’t really have anything for your scrape but Mary did, she wanted to become a Mediwitch so she’d been testing some simple potions back at home and gave you one. The pain had gone in an instant but the area still looked scraped when you pulled your socks over half of it. After that, the four of you walked towards the dining hall together to have breakfast.
Once you arrived you saw the boys sitting all together on the farther side of the table, along with most people of your year. There was an empty spot next to Remus, who had his head buried in a book, so you sat next to him, Lily plopped down right next to you while Mary and Marlene sat in the front.
“How are you?” asked Remus as Lily talked about the schedule with Beth and another girl from your year, you looked at him confused and he nodded towards your leg “Heard about the fall, how Lily saved your asses,” he explained.
“Oh,” you replied “Well, It’s alright, looks a lot worse than it feels,” you said pointing at your leg, “Mary gave me some cream potion ting to put on wherever the pain comes back.”
“Want some chocolate?” He said, pulling a small bar from his pocket “It always helps when I’m feeling beaten down.”
You nodded, he broke a piece off and handed it over to you. It was rather soft from his body heat, but you preferred soft chocolate to the hard bars so you enjoyed it quite a lot “How are the boys?” You asked him.
“Oh don’t worry about them,” he told you “They’re used to being scraped all over, they said they had lots of fun tho, it was nice seeing Sirius happy about morning flying, he usually complains about James forcing him to wake up early and ruining his beauty sleep.”
“Beauty sleep?” You asked while holding back a laugh “With those words?”
Remus nodded, smiling too “You’d be surprised by the kind of things he says sometimes, with his posh vocabulary. He’s like a princess.”
“Well I mean he does look like one,” you agreed and tensed right after, but Remus only nodded while glancing at Sirius.
Then Lily gently tapped on your forearm, “hurry and finish up,” she said, nodding at your plate, “our first class starts in 15, and we still have to walk there.” You nodded in response and started munching on your toast faster, gulping down your tea along the way to help the bread soften in your mouth.
When everyone was standing up you grabbed your leftover bread, threw some hazelnut spread on it and bent it from corner to corner, to take it along with you. And then you followed everyone towards your first class.
In the classroom, a very small teacher, standing on top of a podium, awaited for you to arrive. He introduced himself as Professor Flitwick, but you quickly realised that he had only done it for you since everyone else already knew him. He mentioned something about how in this class you’d learn wordless magic and started to explain the basic concepts of it. You, as the rest of them, took notes of the things the teacher was saying with your quill.
After Charms, you had Transfiguration with Professor McGonagall, which had been, in all honesty, rather complicated for you. While you were certain McGonagall was a brilliant teacher, you had a hard time grasping the art of turning teapots into ferrets and ferrets into teapots, and that was without even thinking about the fact that down the line, you’d have to transform people into animals too.
Your third class was divination, and while you were relatively good at it, you were never really attracted to the art of predicting the future, since you’d had bad experiences in the past. Divination is only fun if you’re guessing good things that will happen, like who will win the Quidditch Championship or small things like “It’ll rain tomorrow.” But when you guess sad or tragic things, people stop liking it, and you along the process, that’s why you had dropped the course back in your old school. Unfortunately, you couldn’t do that here, since it wasn’t an optional class.
A tall dark skinned professor walked inside the round classroom that stood in the farthest part of the North Tower. He was wearing a long green robe and had a very mysterious aura going around him. “My name is Aurelius Spellman,” he said in a very deep voice “I’ve met some of you before, some of you are in my class for the first time ever, but, be certain, I know each and every single one of you.” You were sitting next to Marlene in that class and you raised your eyebrows at her in a poking manner, she giggled.
“McKinnon, (Y/LN), Would you mind sharing the joke?” He said turning to face you. You instantly sat straighter and shook your head, “I’d like to see if what I’ve heard from Professor Ashbourne is true, she wrote to me all about your talents.” He said, giving you a stern look.
“I have no talent sir,” you lied, Ashbourne had been your divination teacher back in your older school, she had continuously pressured you to pursue your abilities until you predicted something that made you quit it for good. You did not like Professor Ashbourne one bit. “My predictions are rarely any accurate, I’m especially bad with classic fortune telling such as Xylomancy and Arithmancy.”
“What about cards?” He said placing an old Spanish deck on your table.
You took a deep breath and pushed them back “I thought we were going to follow the curriculum,” you said steadily, “Don’t we have to do runes first?”
He raised an eyebrow at you “Miss (Y/LN) is -in fact- correct, 10 points for Gryffindor, this first unit we will be looking at the art of reading ancient runes. Please open your books on page 50. Potter, start reading, will you?” You exhaled the moment he started paying attention to James’ reading instead of you.
At the end of the class, he divided some stacks of runes and handed them over to the students at random. You had to study their meanings and write what the runes would mean when combined with other things. It was really easy since you had already done runes in your old school, but you were thankful you weren’t actually reading someone’s future and had just a random set of runes instead.
Once the class was over you rushed outside as fast as possible, escaping while some girls walked towards the teacher to ask him about the meaning of some runes, you really didn’t want him to call you regarding the whole Ashbourne thing. You had walked down the stairs so fast you didn’t even realise you’d left everyone behind, you leaned back onto a wall and allowed yourself to rest for a bit, heavy breaths becoming softer the more time passed.
Remus spotted you from a couple of steps higher as he walked down, and after noticing your distress decided to approach you. “You all right?” He asked softly, as if not to startle you.
You turned to him and blinked a couple of times before you managed to ground yourself. This was Hogwarts, that was Remus, and you only had to read random runes here, you didn’t need to predict anyone’s future. You nodded in response. “I got wrapped up in my thoughts for a moment,” you excused yourself “I’m not a big fan of divination.”
“I don’t know about your old professor, but Spellman will not pressure you into anything,” he reassured “Besides he already has a star student of his own,” he said nodding towards a small Ravenclaw girl with thick-rimmed glasses who was passing by.
“Sybill?” You asked, raising one of your eyebrows.
Remus nodded, tilting his head towards you as he spoke “last name is Trelawney.”
“Hold up, that Trelawney?”
He nodded again and then smiled “Let’s go get some food, I wanna show you something,” he said and started walking downwards.
You eyed him suspiciously and followed behind. Instead of taking you to the great hall, he took a deviation, walking down a long spiral staircase until you arrived to a long passageway. There seemed to be nothing but a couple of portraits there. Remus approached one of them, used his wand to make a little pear on the painting to move, and all of the sudden, the portrait opened itself like a door would, just like the entrance to the Gryffindor common room.
There was a rather narrow and short passageway, and finally, you found the kitchens, an enormous room, about the same size as the Great Hall, with tables positioned in the exact same layout. “The elves use the tables to magically take the food from here to the great hall, it’s right above us,” he whispered as he noticed you observing.
He then kindly asked some of the domestic elves there to pack some food for you. You saw Nimbletwist among them and waved at her. She smiled and waved back. Once the food was ready the elves handed them over to Remus and he thanked them. You followed behind him as he led you outside. When you approached the door of the castle he pulled a small paper plane from the inside pocket of his robe and swished his wand over it. The plane took off towards one of the halls.
You frowned as you looked at the plane fly off “The boys?” You asked.
He nodded, “So they bring dessert.” From then he walked out and guided you through the grounds all the way to the lake.
He pulled out a cloth and extended it over the floor “A picnic?” You asked, raising your eyebrows.
“It’s a wonderful day,” he said with his arms wide open.
You looked up with a bit of a frown. “It looks like it may rain soon.”
“This is England love, it always looks like it might rain soon,” he said plopping down on top of the cloth and pulling out some of the food the domestic elves had prepared.
Which reminded you of something you wanted to ask “Do they just… give food to whoever asks nicely?” You asked.
“Most of the students don’t know where the kitchens are,” Remus explained. “Peter found them in second year when we were exploring the castle’s secret passages, he befriended the elves, they give us food whenever we ask them now.” He said as he patted the side for you to also sit on the cloth, you complied. Once you sat beside him he pointed at the lake “Whenever I’m feeling down, I like to come here,” he explained “The giant squid comes out every now and then, it’s relaxing to see him swimming around without any worries to perturb him.”
Sitting next to Remus, with the light watery breeze, you thought back to the day you’d met him, and how he’d looked like a pirate from the cover of a spicy novel to you. He still looked as handsome as one, but he had much more depth than just a hot pirate. Layers, you thought, this boy has so many layers. You turned to look at the lake and saw the giant squid he’d been talking about. It floated aimlessly for a minute and then went back under the water, it really was as peaceful as Remus had described.
As you stared at the water you grabbed one of the pork pies and started munching on it “Oh, these are incredible,” you said as you took another bite.
He nodded “They’re Sirius’ favourites, thought you may like them,” he said as he grabbed his own. As the two of you talked about charms and transfiguration James, Sirius and Peter arrived.
Peter, who was carrying a basket in his hands, sat down next to you, and turned to Remus as he grabbed a pork pie, “You brought her to your spot.”
“Yeah, she seemed like she needed it,” Remus replied with a shrug, “you guys brought the desserts?”
Sirius and James were quick to sit in front of the three of you, closing the circle completely. “I got some of those meringue pies you really like,” said Sirius, looking at Remus attentively “and chocolate pudding too.”
James nodded “he used all his charms on the kitchens,” and then he turned to you “By the way, the Gryffindor tryouts will be on Friday at four,” he said giving you a look “I’ll see you there, yeah?” You nodded in response, “But you won’t get any special treatment just because we’re friends,” he said in a warning tone, you laughed.
“Yeah right, of course, the Gryffindor Team Captain can’t have a bias,” you replied with a smile as you gave him a small nudge and finished your pie.
“Which class do we have next?” Asked Peter.
“How do you manage to keep your head in the clouds all the time Wormy?” Asked Sirius as he threw himself back, letting his hair sprawl on the grass, looking absolutely carefree as he took a piece of chocolate fudge to his mouth, looking absolutely prince-like, as always.
“Wormy?” You asked, turning to Peter.
“It’s a long story,” he exhaled, “short for Wormtail.”
“Wormtail? Now that’s even worse!” You said with a frown. “But you all gave weird names to each other right? Sirius is Pads, and…” you turned to Remus “You’re Moony.”
“Padfoot actually,” corrected Sirius as he took another bite of his fudge and then pointed at James “He’s Prongs.”
“Wow, and that’s what you call your friends? I wouldn’t wanna be your enemy…”
Remus chuckled lightly, looking amused and eventually turned to Peter “It’s Herbology?”
“Herbology?” you asked, turning to Remus with a frown.
“Last class of the day too, why?”
“I’m… exceptionally good at getting plants to die,” You explained “Theory and memory, that’s no problem, but keeping them alive… Let’s just say… it’s not among my talents.”
“Wormy’s really good,” said James “And Evans, I’m sure they’d give you a hand.”
“Last year he kept my plant alive,” Sirius said in agreement “And Moony’s, when he was out of it.”
Remus pulled his sleeve up a bit and checked his watch, which let you see he had some more scars up his arms as well, “All right boys, time to get going, we need to be at the greenhouses in 15.”
Sirius took a deep breath and sat back down, joining the rest of you as you put everything back in the basket, Peter held it as the boys guided you to Herbology.
Marlene was the first one to spot you as you were entering the castle, and she called in for Lily, “Hey Lils, she’s not lost, she was with the boys.”
At that moment you left the boys behind and walked towards them, “you were looking for me?” You asked her when you stood in front of her.
“Marlene mentioned how uncomfortable you were at divination, we were waiting for you at the great hall and when you didn’t arrive we started to worry, in my first year I got lost rather often, and some parts of the castle can be very dangerous,” she said stressing the last bit.
You were moved by how caring Lily was of you, you’d met the girl only a day ago and she’d been more worried about you when she’d thought you got lost than your damn parents when you were exploring muggle London for a week, touching your house only for a dash of sleep before disappearing pretty early in the morning, Lily would be a great mother, you thought. “The boys took me for a picnic,” you explained, “that’s why we didn’t go to the great hall.”
She nodded “I should’ve guessed, you’ve gotten chummy with them already.”
“Well, they are fun to hang out with,” you shrugged, “and of course, I already knew Sirius.”
“You did?” She frowned, to which you nodded.
“Met him a couple of years ago on a family vacation,” you explained.
“Hold up! A couple of years ago? Are you talking about Sirius’ vacation in Mexico?”
You nodded, “yeah, why?” Lily started laughing
“Sirius was hung up on you almost the entire year,” Marlene said as she caught up with you “We knew he’d met a mystery girl when Peter accidentally let it out.”
“Oh, Was he?” You said with a cheeky smile “You girls are just giving me more fuel to tease him.”
“Please do! He literally had all the girls crying because he kept ignoring their love letters. Throwing them to the fire and eating the treats he was sent. I was tired of girls asking me to introduce them formally.”
You laughed while shaking your head, “Ahhh.. this is gonna be a fun year.”
Soon enough, you all arrived at your classroom. The teacher introduced himself as Mr. Folly and started explaining some of the curative benefits of Spellvine and how it was especially helpful for potions to treat pain. You noticed Mary was especially attentive in class, you guessed it had to do with her goal of becoming a Mediwitch. While you wrote down all the special needs and care specificities of Spellvine the teacher handed everyone their own seed. It was going to be the course’s objective to grow said plant from scratch.
After class, you went back to the common room and Lily decided to show you the way to the library, so you could do research for homework. Inviting you again to her and Remus’ study group, she said the first session would be on Wednesday. Eventually you went back to the Great Hall and you had dinner with everyone and finally, went back to your shared room.

I hope it's ok to throw up some Pete thoughts into your inbox, but that last rb of the fake vegaspete scenes has me thinking soooo many thoughts too. Even thinking about the original scene with Pete giving Porsche blocking advice... Do you think it's hard for Pete not to just see the violence in everything? Do you think it's hard for him to tell the difference? Was it easier for him to project his trauma onto Vegas than it was Porsche? Sorry sorry, my brain is kicking around so many hypotheticals that I almost want to write poetry
Oh anon, first of all, you can always come and throw at me *all* the Pete thoughts, I assume you've seen my blog and know how I'm like about that man. Second of all, damn, those questions are fascinating. I've never actually thought of Pete and violence and sex in that way before, at least not consciously (I think - I've only been thoroughly obsessing over him for almost 2 years lol). But anyway, for starters, I don't believe Pete is a stranger to sex. Even if he's a virgin in the show (something that was never confirmed), he's not oblivious to it. No matter the show's insistence at using Pete for comedic purposes in regards to him not knowing KP were a thing, I refuse to believe it! So, while, unfortunately, the scene with Porsche and the hickeys cannot really be interpreted in any other way than Pete having misunderstood what he saw on Porsche's neck, your question raises a good point for his character: does every act, including sex, involve violence for him? In my opinion, yes. Yes it does. Pete seeing the potential violence in everything could be a trauma response or a defense mechanism, both of which highly probable, as evidenced in ep4 with the table scene (though in that one, we had actual violence and potential escalated violence, depending on Tankhun's behaviour which Pete tried to control). Because of this, I don't think it's a matter of him finding it hard or not; it's a subconscious thing. I also don't think it'd be hard for him to tell the difference, but rather, Pete wouldn't *need* to tell the difference, because sex isn't something made for him. He's never thought it'd be something he would experience in his life before Vegas, so why distinguish one kind of violence from another? This is one of the main reasons why I utterly love their NC scene: it wasn't violent. Sure, it might have been painful - Pete hadn't completely healed yet, he was still wearing bandages and, depending on one's headcanon or not, penetration surely hurt to some degree - but it wasn't violent. It was hot kisses and licking necks and ass eating and slow thrusts and more kisses and.. yeah, you get the point. I believe it wasn't what Pete expected, same as the audience who witnessed it. Perhaps he expected another kind of violence, but got something completely different in the end, which is why Vegas using the handcuff again hit Pete so hard. The usual kind of violence returning, after the lack of it. He got too comfortable. He forgot to protect himself from the violence. Now, in regards to your last question, I believe Vegas' trauma is easier for Pete to project himself onto because it's a mirror (something @loveliesblood has actually said, because their brilliant character interpretations are brilliant). Pete's been there before, so he can empathize with a lost Vegas who's only response to the abuse is to blame himself. There's also the safety of distance: the days he'd been subjected to boxing against his will are over, so he's not in direct danger of his father abusing him like Vegas is. With Porsche, it's a little tricky. Taking as a hypothetical that he learns about what happened to Porsche somehow, the story hits a little *too* close to home for him to be able to process the trauma. There's no distance this time: it's here and now and he has to face it. But Pete is a hypocrite with no clue of what introspection means, so he shields himself from it, like he tries to do in ep13, in the infamous bathtub scene with Porsche, my favourite scene in the whole show. He cowers and hides and deflects. It's gorgeously agonizing to watch and I love it so, so much. This ended up being a little too long and I'm scared that I fucked up your incredible ask, but to salvage it a little bit, I'd like to highly encourage you to write the poetry you mentioned; we can never have enough of it, especially in the VP fandom. I'm sure it'll be wonderful ❤️ (Shoutout to @musictooth and their series of made-up vegaspete scenes, thank you so much for the brainworms haha)
#I'm sorry if I fucked up the questions anon#I loved your ask so much#I'm not sure I answered well but I hope you'll enjoy reading my thoughts regardless#but the different kinds of violence#and Pete's headspace about them#ohh this will stay with me#vegaspete#asks

Hi. I've never done this before, but I've been eagerly reading everything since weekend started.
So if it's okey for me to ask I would love to request 💔💔🔥🔥🔥🥹🥹 ( hope it's not to much. I'm totally hooked on all of them but writing down every single emoji felt a bit crazy 😅)
🥰🥰🥰🥰 Please know I am bestowing the gentlest kiss to your temple and giving you the biggest hug! It is absolutely okay! (and I won't be mad if you wanna send in more or others asks for my stories!) 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
💔 icemav break up / icedad
this is directly continuing from this ask!
“No! Of course not! But come on, Ice, you have to see-” “I don’t have to see shit,” Tom explodes, cutting Mav off before he can start trying to justify his, and Carole’s as well most likely, actions. “You hurt him. Do you get that? Does she get that? Bradley is here. He is living and breathing and you both are hurting him.” Scoffing, Mav rolled his eyes as Tom continued on. “Do you have any idea what your actions almost did? You both almost drove him away! I’ve had to stop Bradley from running off to do it all on his own three, three goddamn times! And I’m the only one who’s shown him even an ounce of support, Pete, and he still keeps trying to run off and do it all on his own because he thinks he can’t trust me!”
🔥 virgin jake - hangster
“You confused me,” Bradley blurts out. “You confused me and enticed me and I didn’t know what I was feeling. What I was meant to be feeling the first time I laid eyes upon you.” Snapping his mouth shut, he turns his gaze away from Jake to stare down at the floor. Scoffing, Jake huffs at his half thought out explanation. But before he could open his mouth to call him on it, Bradley continued on. “I was raised knowing I would have a courtesan. I knew what that all entailed,” he powered on. “But then…but then I saw you. I saw who would be mine and I lost my damn mind. I know I did. I broke tradition because I could not bear the thought of anyone but me guarding you until you were officially mine.” Jake flinched back, eyes going wide in surprise as he stared at Bradley. “What? What do you mean broke tradition"?”
🥺 chap2 of helper - a/b/o hangster
“Sweetheart, come here,” the voice calls, soft and soothing and like a balm to the raw nerve Jake’s worked himself up into being. “That’s right baby, I got you, okay? Just listen to me, okay, Jake?” He thinks he nods or maybe he mumbles out a yes or noise of agreement. He’s not sure, not really but what he does know is that suddenly he’s not pressed against the cold unyielding side of his tub or bathroom floor. Suddenly he’s pressed against warmth. Wrapped up in it really. In warmth and love and feeling like he’s once again tethered to something. But that can’t be right, Jake thinks, because he’s not supposed to be wrapped up in warmth and love. Because he doesn’t deserve that after what he did to Bradley.

The Life and Times Chapter 24: Contra Mundum
Dear Snaps, This—the owl—is Elizabeth the Second, named for the lady on the muggle money. My old owl has gone into retirement after an unfortunate run in with my Gran's cat Bertram. It seems that was one cat attack too many, and he now refuses to carry mail. I'm up North with my family at the moment, but we're all headed back to Manchester tomorrow, which will be a relief. Pete's here, too, irreparably damaging my bedroom ceiling with a Quaffle, at the moment (he says "hi"), but even still, there's not much to do in Godric's Hallow. He—Pete, that is—took his apparition test on Wednesday. Passed without Felix Felicis and everything… I've started Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration essay twice now and have only written one sentence. So much for not procrastinating. I'll just do it on the train, like always. Let's see… what else is going on here? Oh, Pete and I saw the Fresh Bloods play in Spain on Tuesday. My cousin Sam got us tickets at the last minute; it was mad, but brilliant, too. Calvin Shrewt was piss drunk, but he's a god on the guitar. I caught a drumstick, but I gave it to Petey (His Royal Highness Peter Pettigrew formally requests that I stop calling him "Petey," so be sure to call him that next time you use him). The Ministry of Merpeople play in London in August, and I hope Sam comes through for that, too. Hopefully with a little more than twenty minutes advance notice… long story, I'll tell you when I see you. Which reminds me—since Petey didn't crash and burn on his apparition test, we should meet up in Diagon Alley or something. Have I mentioned how utterly bored I am? Summer holidays didn't used to be this dull, did they? As much as I loathe the prospect of hastening my entrance to the Dementor-esque soul-sucking so-called "Real World," I sort of wish school would start again already. Maybe it's just Godric's Hallow. Anyway, I'm hoping to see the Wasps play Puddlemore next week. In the summer, time is measured in Quidditch matches attended, I think. Oh, Remus is coming up to see me tomorrow. You should write to him. He's miserable, and I'm not sure if it's because his Furry Little Problem is acting up or something more serious. You should write him and tell him to get out of the house. He won't listen to me, and I think he's angry that I sent a singing howler. Don't see what he was so miffed about—I didn't use my voice or anything, and the charm produced a really lovely soprano. How is your summer going? I hope you're not wallowing or anything. Merlin—do you realize its only been two weeks since school ended? Have you seen anything of You-Know-Who? Not Voldemort. Snape. He lives near you, isn't that right? Petey thinks I shouldn't ask because it's a sore subject. As if "tact" has ever been my style. Merlin. At any rate, I'd better be off now. Mum wants Petey and me to take some shortbread to old Mrs. Bagshot up the road, and she (Mum) is positively having kittens over the fact that I didn't do it this morning like I may or may not have promised. So, I'm off. Have a good week—don't do anything I wouldn't, and if you do, take pictures. Cheers, James Potter Elizabeth the Second was out the window by the time Lily had finished James's letter. The witch almost laughed out loud at the mental image of James and Peter standing on "Old Mrs. Bagshot's" doorstep with a plate of shortbread, and she also found herself inexplicably pleased by the vague possibility of "meeting up with" James (and Peter) in Diagon Alley sometime. Perhaps it was the fact that she was isolated in the muggle world, but the prospect excited her more than she cared to explain.
— JULES.

Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix Recap: Agrabah (Only Second Rate)
Okay so… It turns out that Agrabah has the lower battle level, so we’ll actually be heading over there first.
If you did NOT clear Agrabah’s first episode before clearing the Battle of 1000 Heartless, you’ll be forced to play through it NOW instead, at which point the second episode will unlock.
Remember how the first game would change some cutscenes in skippable worlds to reflect Maleficent’s and Riku’s current states in the story? Maleficent disappearing from cutscenes in Olympus Coliseum and Monstro after her death, and Riku’s and Sora’s interactions in Monstro becoming FAR more hostile if you put its story off for long enough?
Yeah, KH2 doesn’t do that, so Pete will STILL be antagonizing Sora and causing trouble even though they’re supposed to be allies against Organization XIII.
And turning Jafar into a Heartless would be counterintuitive to working together against Organization XIII.
Oops.
Anyways, upon disembarking in Agrabah (assuming you’ve cleared the first episode), the first thing the player sees is red smoke billowing out of the concrete box Jafar’s lamp had been sealed in last time we were here.
The Peddler, here a distinct character from the Genie, is on the ground, trembling before the thunderous smoke, Jafar’s no doubt empty lamp laying on the floor next to him.
Iago flies into the dungeon to check in on all the ruckus, just in time to see the newly freed Jafar bellowing with laughter at his newfound freedom.
Jafar stops laughing and turns to Iago.
The camera zips up and out through the boarded-up ceiling of the dungeon as Iago screams in fright.
We cut the Peddler’s shop in a textbox cutscene, which now has gilded walls, a gilded roof, and a gilded floor. The shelves are stocked with valuable treasures, there are piles of gold coins behind the counter, and the Peddler also has a giant, bejeweled trophy that’s roughly the same size as Sora for some reason.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy beam right in there for some reason.
Donald looks around, surprised by how spiffy and shiny everything is, only to bump into a valuable-looking vase/urn/pot (not sure which).
“You break it, you buy it!” the Peddler warns, before noticing it’s just Sora, Donald, and Goofy, at which point he casually greets them.
Sora remarks that he made out like a bandit, but the guy we JUST saw release an evil genie insists he is just an honest merchant who earned all of this through hard work. Which I guess is… Theoretically possible… Given that the only other people who could POSSIBLY be paying customers are Princess Jasmine and Aladdin. Possibly the Genie if he doesn’t feel like magicking something he wants into existence. So, he could PROBABLY make a killing by virtue of being the only other person in town, and the only one selling anything.
Goofy remarks that everything certainly looks nice, and the Peddler reveals that everything is on sale.
Sora decides to cut to the chase, asking if the Peddler’s seen anyone in a Black Coat, hoping to learn if Organization XIII had been there.
The Peddler denies it, and thus Sora and co decide to keep looking.
We then fade into a voice-acted cutscene, where Aladdin, Abu, and Iago barge in.
“Sora! Don’t let him get away!” Aladdin shouts as Abu charges the Peddler, who somehow managed to escape.
Sora asks what’s going on, and Aladdin reveals that the Peddler released Jafar from his lamp.
Cue Sora flashing back to a bunch of Jafar scenes that never happened in Kingdom Hearts I, Chain of Memories, their Manga adaptations and novelizations, or any Aladdin media unaffiliated with Kingdom Hearts. Even though we had flashbacks to KH1!Agrabah in Roxas’ prologue. But hey, the Bandit Heartless from KH1 and COM appear here, so that’s a neat touch!
We then fade back to a textbox cutscene as Aladdin warns SDG to be careful.
“Jafar may be out to take over Agrabah again,” he explains, “But I’m sure he wants revenge too.”
Sora remarks that he’s probably still sore about the whole “getting sealed in a lamp for all eternity” thing.
Aladdin elaborates that Iago saw the whole thing, and tells him to spill it.
Iago insists that he’s already told Aladdin everything he knows.
Aladdin threatens to never talk to Iago again if he’s being dishonest, and that gets Iago to admit that he knows where Jafar is.
When asked to elaborate, Iago starts tripping over his tongue, but at Aladdin’s urging, he says Jafar’s at the Desert Ruins.
Sora declares they can get the jump on him, and tells Iago to lead the way.
Aladdin has rejoined the party!
Inside the Peddler’s remodeled shop is Vexen’s Absent Silhouette. The LAST Absent Silhouette.
Challenging it transports Sora, Donald, and Goofy to the sight of Vexen’s final battle: The Re:Chain of Memories version of the Old Mansion’s gate.
The Absent Silhouette transforms into Vexen in a flash of ice, and Vexen telekinetically levitates his shield in front of him.
His opening move is to surround Sora with a stream of data and encase him in a block of ice. In order to escape, the player must use the “Struggle” Reaction Command 10 times, which will produce the “Smash” Reaction Command. “Smash” prompts Sora to shatter the ice.
Vexen, however, is completely invincible, meaning Sora, Donald, and Goofy will have to chip away at his shield’s HP before they can damage him.
Worse yet, at all times, an Organization Sigil is crawling along the ground, and will scan Sora’s data whenever it’s below Sora’s feet. Vexen can teleport the sigil directly to Sora by freezing him, forcing the player to break out of the ice all over again.
There’s a data bar in the upper corner of the screen. It starts at 0, but if it’s filled, it’ll increase to 1.
When that happens, Vexen will spawn a Replica of Sora’s Anti Form, known as “Clone Sora”. Just like Sora’s Anti Form, it can instantly zip to Sora’s location and hack at him with its claws. Worse, this animalistic copy will get MORE health every time the Data “levels up”. If it’s destroyed, then the level-up will instead revive it with the boosted health it would’ve gotten if it had still been alive.
Fortunately, the Data Level caps out at 5.
Additionally, Vexen can summon various Ice Attacks both when he’s been disarmed, and will restore his shield after retaliating, so be careful.
Vexen’s Shield and Clone Sora are both considered bosses, and as such can only be defeated by Finishers, Limits, and/or magic. None of which Sora has access to in Anti Form, which he has an increased chance of entering when using Drive Forms due to Vexen being an Organization member.
Additionally, Clone Sora can FUSE with the Shield to perform powerful attacks, in a dark mockery of Drive Forms, so be aware of that.
When Vexen is defeated, his absent silhouette fades into snowflakes.
Sora’s rewarded an Armor Slot, Donald +3 Max HP, and Goofy and Item slot.
Additionally, it leaves behind a Lost Illusion and the “Road to Discovery” recipe (1 Lost Illusion, 1 Tranquility Crystal, 3 Tranquility Gems, 5 Tranquility Stones, and 7 Tranquility Shards). This recipe allows the Moogles to synthesize Vexen’s Shield, Frozen Pride, meaning Goofy can carry the weapon of a guy who was violently immolated in front of Sora about a year ago!
…
Anyways, in order to progress to the Desert Ruins, you need to exit the city through the front gates.
Upon getting there, our heroes discover (in a voice-acted cutscene) that the Desert Ruins are covered in a raging and suspiciously localized sandstorm.
Iago very loudly and hammily (even for him) suggests that they’re gonna have to turn back now.
Aladdin instead remarks that they’ll have to find another way, to the ruins, at which point the Genie zips in from out of nowhere to remind him that his best friend is a reality-warping genie who can EASILY wipe a little sandstorm away.
“Want to see a little something I like to call ‘Sandstorm Sweep’?”
SDG all answer to the affirmative.
“Take it away, Genie!” Aladdin encourages.
The Genie prepares to hammily end the sandstorm, only to get disappointed when he sees that it’s JUST a massive, localized sandstorm covering an oddly specific region of the desert, remarking that just “one lousy sandstorm” is too easy, proving his point by poking the air behind his head without even FACING it.
The magic zips on over, swirls around and encompasses the entire whirlwind of sand, and casually dissipates it.
SDG and Aladdin are no less wowed, and Iago annoyed, and the quintet swiftly realize that the Genie vanished while they weren’t looking.
“How about giving me a challenge next time, eh Al?” a genuinely board and somewhat stir-crazy Genie requests.
Just head in the direction of the ruins from the Palace Wall to skip past the boring desert travel.
Our heroes arrive at a mound that overlooks the ruins, which are all askewed at weird angles and partially buried in a MASSIVE pit/crater in the middle of the desert, which’ll make traversing them rather tricky.
“Now what’ll we do?” Aladdin asks.
The Magic Carpet swoops in from out of nowhere to give them a ride.
“Nice timing, Carpet!” Sora greets/lampshades.
Sora hops into Carpet and flies down into the valley/pit/crater, and a watery shadow of Jafar’s sorcerer/vizier form materializes in a puff of shadow as Agrabah’s battle theme starts playing.
Now it’s time for THIS game’s Magic Carpet ride!
Use the left shoulder button to lock the commands and control the camera, and the right shoulder button to lock the camera and control the command menu.
Sora can use the attack button to attack enemies from a distance. The left stick moves Sora front, back, left, and right, while the right stick moves Sora up and down.
As soon as Sora flies near Jafar’s shadow, it teleports away, seals Sora inside a box of invisible barriers, and spawns in a swarm of Rapid Thrusters.
Sora can use the attack button to charge an enemy from a distance, and still has access to his magic via the Command Menu. If he jumps, he’ll land back on the Carpet. Basically, his gameplay is almost identical to his on-foot gameplay, you’re just controlling his movement with the Magic Carpet instead of moving Sora around.
As soon as the last Heartless falls, the barriers drop, and Jafar’s shadow reappears.
You now have to chase it around the ruins.
Whenever Sora gets close enough for the targeting reticle to appear, Jafar’s shadow will fly to its next “stopping point”. Sometimes, when his shadow reaches these points, Jafar will start channeling his magic through it to cast a spell. It will not flee while doing this, allowing Sora to interrupt the spell by attacking it, though this will prompt it to flee to its next stopping point.
When Sora corners it in front of an invisible barrier, Jafar will drop the barrier and have his Shadow flee through narrow valley/corridor to a large tower in the middle of a sinkhole/sandpit (I don’t know my terminology), sending flying Heartless at Sora to try and slow him down. You don’t have to defeat them, you JUST have to reach Jafar’s shadow on the roof of the tower.
Jafar’s shadow will then cast a barrier over the roof of the tower, locking Sora in with a bunch of flying Heartless, and then vanish in a puff of darkness. The barrier will not drop until all of the Heartless have been destroyed.
After that’s done, a monument will appear on top of the tower in a puff of darkness. Examining it with a Reaction Command reveals three pictures of various “switches”. These “switches” consists of sets of floating orbs at various points in the ruined city, and Sora has to use different spells to hit all of them at once. Fira if they’re a ring, Blizzara if they’re a horizontal line, and Thundara if they’re in a vertical line. Be warned, they HAVE to line up so the spell will hit all of them in one blast, and they start out in a “3D diamond” formation until Sora gets close to them. There are three Switches total, and each of them will require a different spell.
They get color coded when you’re close, so it’s more about timing and defeating the nearby Heartless so they don’t get in the way.
When all three switches are hit, a doorway into the tower opens in a flash of light, and Sora is given 45 seconds to get in.
Entering the tower takes Sora, Donald, Goofy, Aladdin, and Iago to the “Ruined Chamber”, which has a Save Point, a large chest containing a map of the Ruins, a second large chest that contains the final Torn Pages, and all of your party members as NPC’s you can interact with.
Going deeper into the Ruined Chamber reveals that Jafar isn’t there.
Some nudging from Aladdin and Donald gets Iago to fess up: Jafar intimidated Iago into luring Aladdin, Sora, Donald, and Goofy to the ruins. (Thus, why Iago was so reluctant to say anything back at the Peddler’s Shop, he was debating whether or not to tell the truth in that moment, but his fear of Jafar won out. Him suggesting they turn back was him trying to NOT go through with it without blatantly defying Jafar’s will.)
Iago was too afraid of Jafar to NOT go along with it, but Aladdin cuts off Iago from disclosing what Jafar THREATENED to do to instead ask where he ACTUALLY is.
Iago, still terrified of what Jafar might do to him, but also feeling guilty, admits that Jafar is PROBABLY attacking the palace now that all of his enemies are sufficiently distracted, and then goes right into describing how scary Jafar’s eyes were, but nobody’s having any of it.
Sora points out that Iago can’t really be their friend if he’s trying to play both sides just to save himself, so it’s clear that at this point they KNOW he cares enough about their opinions for that to actually sting.
Iago, while backing away from the others as they tell him off, accidentally triggers a trap, causing the entire ruined city to start rumbling.
The Magic Carpet swoops in to take them away, and we get an on-the rails escape sequence ala KH1’s trip to Agrabah.
Unlike that one, however, Sora isn’t flying out of a cave, so we instead get the carpet swooping around and between buildings and diving near the ground for no apparent reason.
Waves of Heartless appear to impede Sora’s escape, and they get sent flying away on the blow that gets them into low HP, causing them to go splat (or well, “poof” since they’re made of metaphysical vapors instead of squishy guts) against the first hard surface they hit. Heartless can also be knocked into each other to deal damage, which is the only way Sora can take out the Fat Bandits that spawn.
Additionally, some of the towers topple over when Sora flies near them (though the carpet will always maneuver Sora out of the way before he can get hurt), again making me question why the Magic Carpet is going for the scenic route instead of taking them straight for Agrabah. It makes for a fun gameplay sequence, but a VERY confusing story sequence.
Anyways, the Carpet collapses form exhaustion once they reach the Palace Walls, and Aladdin tells it to rest up.
Iago tries to rally everyone up to go get Jafar, but they’re all still mad at him.
Reminder, the Palace Walls should PROBABLY be called the city walls instead, as the gate just leads to the Bazaar, so you’ll have to go through there first.
Past the Bazaar is Agrabah (again, confusing names are confusing), and just outside of the loading zone for the palace is the Peddler.
You have to use the “Interrogate” Reaction Command to progress the story in a textbox cutscene.
The Peddler instantly realizes they’ve caught on to his tricks, but is more of a gracious loser about the whole ordeal, agreeing with Sora when he says that you can’t keep shady stuff a secret for long, and helpfully explains everything:
He had snuck into the palace to “borrow” some treasure, when he heard a voice.
The voice had ordered the Peddler to “Release me!” and claimed to be the TRUE Sultan of Agrabah when the Peddler asked who he was.
The Peddler laments having fallen for such a tall tale, proposing that he must’ve been under Jafar’s spell.
Sora sarcastically asks if he’s SURE the treasure had nothing to do with it, and the Peddler, to his credit, admits it MIGHT have influenced him a LITTLE bit.
“But Jafar, he never gave me a thing…” the Peddler continues.
Sora wants to know where he got the treasure from then, and the Peddler explains he got it from a man in a black coat.
Organization XIII had, for whatever reason, bribed him to tell no one of Jafar’s return, as they claimed they would turn Jafar into a Heartless and destroy him, thus meaning there was no reason to worry Agrabah.
Sora is just incredulous that the Peddler bought that.
The Peddler reminds Sora that he’s a merchant, and thus will buy anything if the price is right. He points out that the only reason the transaction fell through is because Iago had seen him release Jafar.
“Oh, you’re so kind…” Iago replies (possibly sarcastically, there’s no voice acting so I have no clue), before sulking/sighing when SDG+Aladdin just turn to look at him.
You can now continue to the palace, where Jafar has chained Jasmine to the door.
“Just wait, Jafar!” Jasmine snaps, “You’ll get exactly what’s coming to you!”
“Indeed I will, Princess…” Jafar agrees, “All of Agrabah will belong to me, while you…” He laughs. “You my queen, shall weep at my side for all eternity!”
Jasmine pulls on her chains and tries to glance over Jafar’s shoulder.
Jafar glances back (just in case), before turning his attention back to Jasmine.
“Right about now…” he grabs her chin, “Your precious Aladdin is whispering your name with his last breath.”
Cue Jasmine noticing Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Aladdin have showed up to thwart Jafar, prompting Jafar to notice them as well.
“What was that you were saying, Jafar?” Aladdin taunts as SDG ready their weapons.
Jafar notices Iago perched on Goofy’s back.
“You dare defy me!” the wicked genie snaps as the eyes on his cobra staff light up, “You useless bird!”
He aims his staff at Iago and Goofy, prompting Goofy to raise his shield and Iago to cover his face with his wings.
Jafar then fires the blast at Aladdin instead, only for Iago to fly out and take the hit instead.
The quarter drop their guard to check on Iago when his smoking body hits the ground.
“Iago!” Goofy calls out.
“You’ll all be joining him very soon!” Jafar announces as he raises a pillar of thundering smoke and swirling magic around himself.
With a groan, he transforms back into his genie form, hovering above his enemies as “The Encounter” starts playing.
He throws a tower at Sora and Aladdin, prompting the two to flee as the Magic Carpet flies at them to help.
Jafar teleports into the skies above Agrabah, and cackles as he demonstrates his phenomenal cosmic power.
Sora and the Magic Carpet confront him.
Boss time.
Jafar’s attacks mostly consist of yeeting debris from destroyed buildings at Sora, spinning around, throwing glowing punches at Sora, shooting fireballs at Sora (when at 70% HP or lower), and raining lightning on Sora (at 40% HP or lower).
Basically, he does not fully exercise his phenomenal cosmic power.
Although his desperation attack DOES have him transporting himself and Sora into a dark void where he telekinetically yeets destroyed buildings at the kid, so that’s a plus.
Anyways, to make attacking Jafar easier, you have to fly past his glowing hands and attack his abs. Once his abs run out of HP, Jafar will crouch over and clutch his stomach, allowing Sora to use the “Roll Up” Reaction Command to grab the tip of Jafar’s tail and wrap him up with it.
When that’s done, Sora can use “Spin Burst” to make Jafar spin until he’s dizzy, at which point he’ll become stunned, allowing you to attack his head.
When he recovers, he’ll briefly paralyze Sora through sheer force of will.
All of Jafar’s attacks can be guarded PERFECTLY by Reflect.
You can damage him at any time by attacking his head and shoulders, but defeating his abs and making him dizzy will make damaging him easier since he won’t be moving around as much.
As you are riding the Magic Carpet, Sora controls EXACTLY as he does in the Desert Ruins.
Defeating Jafar grants Sora the Fire Element, upgrading Fira into Firaga.
“No…” Jafar groans as his body glows and sparks, “How can I BE defeated again, by a pack of filthy street rats?”
“Don’t mess with street rats!” Sora shoots back as he flies back to the palace with the Magic Carpet.
Jafar can only groan and shout as his body pulsates, until it explodes into a burst of magic sparkles.
Its genie destroyed, Jafar’s lamp evaporates into black smoke before Sora, Goofy, and Aladdin can reach it.
Cue Genie materializing in a flash of magic sparkles, lamenting that they fought Jafar AGAIN and didn’t even invite him.
Aladdin apologizes, noting that things happened a LITTLE fast.
Genie lamented that he had new moves he wanted to show off (possibly referring to the Limits he can do as a Summon).
“But, Genie, we still need your help!” Donald points out.
“Who’s gonna fix Agrabah?” Sora asks.
He’s not kidding, there’s rubble everywhere, a wall in the background has a MASSIVE hole in it, Jafar REALLY did a number on the city during his duel with Sora.
Genie is PUMPED up, ready to not only fix Agrabah, but TOTALLY remodel it into an upgraded version of itself.
“You won’t even recognize it when I’m through with it!”
“Just like it was, please,” Aladdin begs sheepishly.
“Really?” Genie asks, “Same old, same old?”
Aladdin and Sora nod.
“All right.”
Genie sends out sparkles to apparently fix Agrabah, but as the game doesn’t load up a different map, they just use a cheated camera angle to keep the battle damage out of sight.
Genie requests that Aladdin let him install a swimming pool or two next time.
Sora receives the Wishing Lamp keychain (+4 Attack, +3 Magic, Jackpot: Increases the drop rate of Munny, HP, and MP orbs by 50%).
The next cutscene loads back into an undamaged Agrabah as Sora, Donald, Goofy, Aladdin, and Jasmine gather in front of some stalls, with Iago sulking in the shadows.
Sora remarks that Agrabah seems to be back to normal, and Aladdin thanks Sora for his help.
Sora somewhat playfully tells Iago to behave himself, “Got it?”
“I most definitely got it! No more lookin’ out or number one!”
Iago also admits to a bit of an insecurity of his, while he’d LIKE to be Aladdin’s friend, he’s not entirely that he can do anything to help Aladdin the way Genie can. He’s not JEALOUS of Genie, he just feels inadequate.
Sora points out that friendship isn’t exactly all about “service”, and that it’s usually enough to just enjoy each other’s company and have fun together.
Aladdin asks what SDG do for fun, and Donald and Goofy demonstrate their “funny faces” to answer him.
“That’s… not quite what I meant,” Aladdin replies, mildly put off.
Sora remarks that they should probably head out.
Iago tries to say something, but his lower jaw and upper jaw don’t QUITE match their movements, and he instead just ends up feeling some pain in his beak.
Goofy checks in on him, and Iago remarks that he can at least still fly.
Goofy still follows after Iago to catch him, just in case, only to walk right into and break a stall, prompting the others to wince.
The Genie takes that in his cue, ready to fix-up/upgrade something, asking Aladdin to at LEAST let him add a freeway or something.
Aladdin insists that everything’s fine, but Genie’s APPARENTLY going through some magical reality warping withdraw and starts shooting around magical sparkles everywhere.
“Sora! Donald! Goofy! You guys are too much!” Genie declares, “If you’re ever in the mood for some more cosmic razzle-dazzle, gimme a shout, okay?”
“You got it!” Donald replies.
Aladdin remarks that Sora’s done it again and asks him not to forget about them.
“I won’t,” Sora promises.
“And Sora… about that friend of yours, the one you’re looking for…
“You’ll find him,” Aladdin declares, “Trust me.”
And with that, Agrabah’s story has finally concluded.
Next time, we STILL don’t go to Halloween Town, because we still need to return the last page to Pooh’s book.
See ya then!
-
All of those fights sound like an absolute pain in the ass.
Though ‘defeating his abs’ sounds hilarious.

The Chaos Family
Iceman x Dragon
[Masterlist]
[Previous Chapter] - [Next Chapter]
From how these two fools met and fell in love. To how they built a family surrounded by those that mean the most to them. There's a lot to tell in a story like this, but if you're willing to hear it out, well, who am I to deprive you of the Kazansky's and their crazy friends?
Word count: 2.1k
Chapter Three - Back to business
♡♡♡
A few days after graduation and Goose is back home starting his Navy career. By the time he gets back, Dragon is long gone on a mission. She's expected back in a few months. Though it's sad he'll be without her for so long now that he's here, Goose swore to make her proud upon her return.
He trained trained hard and got to know his fellow colleagues. One in particular he had met already.
Fate seemed to have good plans for Goose as Scarlet was based in the same location as he was. When he saw her walk into the room, he smiled. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen was back in his life again.
Their paths entwined that day.
As soon as training was over, Nick went up to Lara and asked her out there and then. The idea of not seeing her again after graduation helped push him to make a move. Dragon was going to be very proud.
He even met his pilot.
Dragon had been gone 3 months. It was a tough and long mission, but she got it done with her team and had returned home.
Goose was waiting for her.
Rachael smiles brightly as Nick runs toward her and gathers her in his arms. He swings the short lady around before putting her feet back on the ground. She laughs joyfully.
"Goose!"
"Dragon!"
They hug it out for a moment, just happy to see each other again.
"Oh, I've missed you!" Rachael says, smiling as brightly as she can. Goose always had that affect on people.
"I missed you too! How was it saving the world?" He asks, swinging his arm around her shoulders.
"Same old, same old. I'm back now. So, catch me up. What have I missed?"
Goose chuckles. "A lot actually."
"Drink?" Dragon asks.
"Drink," Goose agrees.
Goose takes Dragon to the bar they used to go to all the time. As tired as she was from the trip home, she was excited to catch up with her buddy.
It had been a while since they were both last here together. This bar held a lot of memories for them.
"So, tell me everything," Rachael says, leaning forward on her seat while they wait for their drinks.
"Want to hear about my pilot or my girlfriend first?" Goose asks.
Rachael stares at him wide eyed.
"Uh, girlfriend!"
Nick smiles.
"Remember Scarlet?" He asks. Rachael nods. "She's based here. With us. I didn't think I would see her again after graduation, but there she was. I wasn't going to risk nothing happening, so I asked her out. We've been dating 3 months."
Rachael grins happily. "Go Goose!"
"Yeah. I'll introduce you properly later."
"I'm happy for you, Nick!"
"Thanks. It means a lot. I hope you two can get along."
"I'm sure we will. Okay, so the pilot?"
"Pete Mitchell. Call sign Maverick. He's really something."
"Oh?"
"He's insane, but it works you know," Goose says.
"Insane how?"
"Like, the way he flies. He kind of follows his own rules, and I'm certain it's going to get him in trouble, but I really think you'll like him."
Rachael smiles. "Can't wait to meet him too."
"I can't believe we're both here. I finally get to be like you."
Rachael laughs. "Oh hush."
"No really. Look at us!"
Dragon smiles. "Look at us."
They clink their drinks together and continue catching up. Goose drives Dragon home and the pair order a pizza as they watch crap TV. Goose stays over that night.
The following day Dragon reports back to base to follow up on the mission she had just returned from. Goose parts ways with her when they arrive and she doesn't see him for most of the day. He's up in the sky with his pilot.
Gossip flies through base about this Maverick. Rachael is all the more intrigued in meeting him.
Walking through base, Rachael spots a familiar red head. She smiles and decides to get in before Goose on those introductions.
"Scarlet, right?"
The woman turns around and smiles softly at Dragon.
"That's me. You can call me Lara though."
Rachael smiles and holds out her hand. Lara takes it and gives it a shake.
"Nice to meet you, Lara. I'm Rachael. I'm a friend of Nick's. He picked me up yesterday when I returned home and told me all about you. You won't remember me, but I was at the bar the night of the graduation."
"Oh, I remember seeing you. It's nice to meet you. Goose speaks very highly of you."
"Oh, he does?" Dragon laughs. "That's sweet of him."
"I wasn't sure I would see him again, but when he heard he was based here, I was so happy. Goose, he's something special." Lara smiles softly.
"Don't I know it. I'm a firm believer everyone needs a Goose in their life."
The two ladies laugh as they walk through the halls. Rachael shares some tales of a younger Goose which has Lara laughing.
The two of them come out of the locker rooms when they jump into Goose. They were about ready to head home. Goose smiles when he sees them both together.
"Oh, you met already?"
"Yep. Saw this beauty in the halls and just had to say hello," Rachael grins.
Nick puts an arm around Lara and she leans into his side. Rachael smiles fondly at the couple. They look cute together.
"You got a date planned?" Rachael asks.
"Yeah, but maybe we can hang out if you wanted to spend more time together," Nick offers. He looks at Lara who nods her head at Rachael.
"Nah, you too have fun. Have home before midnight, Goose," Rachael winks at him.
Goose laughs and Lara turns a shade of pink that looked rather cute on her. Rachael giggles as she parts ways with them.
Dragon leaves the base.
In the parking lot, not far from where Rachael is parked, there is a motorcycle. Rachael is momentarily caught by the person sitting upon it. Someone she hadn't seen before.
He looks like a pilot if she ever saw one.
The man in question glances up briefly and catches her staring. He smiles are bright grin and then rides off on his bike.
"Maverick," she muttered. He just screamed Maverick to her.
The next day Rachael is in training. While Dragon is up on the sky, Goose and Maverick are on the ground prepping for their hop into the sky.
"This, uh, Dragon is really good," Mav comments, listening in on the radio.
"Yeah, she's one of the top pilots here, which isn't exactly and easy thing to accomplish. You know... since most of the competition are guys."
Mav gazes up at the sky where he can see the jets in the far distance.
"She's your friend, right? The one you mentioned."
Goose looks up at his pilot.
"Yeah. I really want you to meet her. How about tonight? Me, you, Scarlet, and Dragon?"
Mav smiles at his buddy.
"I'd like that."
"Great, I'll speak to her when she lands."
Maverick goes back to looking up at the sky again. Dragon, huh.
Rachael has just showered and changed from her training session when her name is called. She turns and sees Goose running over to her. He swings his arm around her shoulder and they walk slowly down the hall.
"Hey Goosey, what's up?"
"I want you to meet Maverick. I think you impressed him with your flying today."
"Oh?" She looks at him curiously.
"Yeah. You want to meet him?"
"When and where?"
"Tonight. The usual place. Scarlet is coming too."
Rachael smiles up at Nick.
"All your dear people in one place. How sweet."
Goose chuckles. The pair exit.
Dragon goes home to get changed and meets them at the bar. Goose and Scarlet are already there when she arrives. Goose waves her over. Rachael approaches their table and sits down. Goose has her favourite drink waiting on the table.
"You used to Goose's fashion sense yet?" Dragon asks, laughing.
Scarlet smiles. "I think he looks very handsome in those shirts."
Nick smiles proudly.
Rachael takes note of the way he sits with his arm around her chair. The way she leans into his side ever so slightly. They're being so very cute without realising it. Rachael is very happy for them.
"Where is he then?" Dragon asks, leaning back in her chair.
"He's coming. He said he would be here. Just waiting for him. You'll like him, I know you will."
Rachael smiles at Nick. "I'm sure I will."
The group are just about finishing their drinks when Maverick shows up. Rachael sees him enter and watches him come over. He wears his aviators when he steps inside, but takes them off when he sees everyone.
Maverick wears a cocky grin on his face as he joins them.
"Mav, this is Dragon. Dragon, Maverick."
Rachael looks up at Mav as he stands beside her seat.
"So you're the pilot," she smiles.
"You've heard about me?" He asks.
"From Goose, yes."
Maverick takes a seat in the open chair beside her. He's still smiling.
"I saw you flying today. You're good."
"Thank you."
"You could be better though."
Goose watches anxiously as the two across him stare at each other.
"Excuse me?"
"You're my kind of pilot," Mav says. "I could teach you some things."
Rachael regards him with interest. "Like what?"
"Just... things."
"Uh huh..."
"Anyone hungry?" Goose asks, deciding to cool the conversation.
"I am," Scarlet agrees.
"Sure," Rachael says, clicking her tongue casually.
Maverick nods with a smile.
The group all order some food and enjoy another drink.
"So, Goose tells me you have been friends for years."
"Yep. Since we were kids. My family moved out here when I was only little. Nick was my only friend when I started school. We've been friends ever since. Ever since I was little I wanted to be an aviator. Though my dad would have liked me to join the army, I was swayed by the Navy. A Navy pilot seemed so cool and I decided that's what I wanted to do."
"Dragon is the reason I went to flight school too," Nick said. "She's the reason I'm here."
Mav smiles at the two of them.
"Nice."
"What about you?" Rachael asks. "Why the Navy?"
Pete falls quiet for a moment. "That's... for another time."
"Oh, I am sorry." Rachael feels bad for asking.
"It's alright."
The food comes and they all eat. The mood becomes more relaxed and conversation turns to funny stories. Rachael hears about some of those manoeuvres Maverick likes to pull off. No wonder Goose thought they would get along.
"No way!" Rachael states.
"Yeah! You just have to know when to pull up," Mav says.
"You're crazy!"
"Won't deny that," he laughs.
"And you fly with him?" Rachael asks, looking at Nick.
"Look, he's reckless, but he does it. I just think he might need remaining sometimes when to slow down and listen."
Rachael looks at Pete.
"As amazing as all that sounds, I think Nick has a point. You're in the Navy, Pete. There are rules."
Mav doesn't say a word as he picks at his food.
"You don't have to worry. Goose is my friend too and I won't let anything happen to him."
Rachael smiles. "I appreciate that. You have to look out for each other up there."
Mav nods.
When the evening is over, Goose takes Scarlet home. Dragon and Mav wave them off as they go.
"Need a ride?" Maverick asks.
"No, I'm good. Thanks though."
Before Dragon can depart, Mav stops her.
"I meant what I said before. About making sure nothing happens to Goose. We've become good friends over the last couple months."
Rachael smiles. "I know. I believe you. Maybe even we can be friends."
"I'd like that."
"You'll have to teach me some of those moves sometime, Mitchell."
Mav grins. "Course."
They smile at each other and then part ways. Despite how normal the day seemed, it was the start of a fun little friend group. Another moment that will impact Dragon's life from here on out.

WAH
BY WHICH I MEAN I got tagged in one of those Last Line Games like two weeks ago by @abysskeeper and uh never noticed bc I never check my mentions oops
anyways it’s supposed to be the last line of your WIP but I’m feeling vain today so you’re getting like a few last lines from a few different WIPs that probably won’t see the light of day for several years
so uh here’s one from a KH:COM rewrite/au bc I was having Namine Feelings last night
[It’s just information, Namine thinks, brushing away the guilt. It’s just data. It’s just a story. A story she’s telling with a friend, that’s all. A story where they are friends; a story where she’s the only friend that matters. Her hand stills, and the guilt in her stomach twists into something like longing. Wistfulness. Nostalgia for something that hadn’t actually happened.
It could have happened, she thinks. It will have happened, she thinks further. She looks up towards the locked door of her room, and the tiny hope she’d clung to so carefully sours instantly
It has to have happened, she thinks with finality, and she picks up her pencils once more.]
here’s a potential line from an After sequel in which Speedrun!Link tries his hardest to explain to Zelda how he got there so fast
[There are no common signs for how Link managed to make it to the castle so quickly. He starts somewhere in common, then jumps to Hylian by way of Zora and Goron in some weird mish-mash, and really Zelda would have been more impressed with how many different languages he had muscle memory of had he not been describing something utterly ludicrous.]
aaaaaaand finally a piece from a KH:BBS rewrite/au because I have just so many thoughts about why the fuck Pete got banished + reminiscing on Mickey’s Magical Quest for the SNES
[”Nows see here, your Majesty. Isn’t this a touch too far?”
“You kidnapped me, Pete,” Minnie said coldly.
“All part of a sting operation against the Beagle Boys.”
“You stole my dog,” Mickey protested in utter indignation.
“Heresay.”
“Pete you can’t just say that, I was literally there, I saw you-” With every word Mickey’s voice jumped in octave.
Pete, for his part, gave the mouse a long, annoyed look. “I liked you better when you didn’t speak.”
“Guards!” Minni snapped, “Get him out of my sight.”]
anyways don’t expect the KH ones to come out any time soon as they’re part of a uh Self Indulgent Whole Series Rewrite Magnum Opus because I’m God Apparently and have decided to replay all the games and take extensive notes on everything because I’m a Scholar (I do have a handful of scene sketches for almost all of the games if you ever want a peek under the hood though lol)
the BOTW one is likely quicker, assuming I don’t write something for TOTK first oops
and uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh @unironicallycringe and the rest of the Fanfiction Book Club I have forgotten your various handles but you’re all invited to play!
#last line#the captain is speaking#god I haven't used that tag in forever#anyways#I'm VoidGobbo on ao3 if you wanna read my 1 fic lol#feel free to ask me things about the various fics!! I've got these and a few jnd ones locked and loaded

[Marauders rant moment]
I hate the way this Fandom treats <young> Peter Pettigrew. It's so insufferable.
I absolutely live laugh love the boys, and i survive on the dopamine this Fandom gives me, but let's be real here, the marauders were just a bunch of insufferable popular teenage boys who spent their days causing chaos and were kind of these 'elite' students. If they were real and they had been with any of us in school, we would honestly just be so done with them and roll our eyes whenever they're braught up.
Peter was the black sheep of the group, ironically enough. He was the quiet one of a very loud bunch. And if the marauders were constantly erupting fireworks, Peter was nothing but the little 'pshhht' sound after the boom. He was not as attractive as they were, granted that James, remus and Sirius are portrayed as greek gods. He was not fit for the 'beauty standards' (im not gonna get into the fact that the Fandom collectively agreed to make him like this when they could've possibly, like they did many others, just alter his looks and make him more conventionally good looking, at the end of the day this fandom's main structure is perspective).
He and remus do share the same 'quiet kid' aspect, but whereas remus was given a background story and a tragic personality, Peter is always painted in a very one-dimensional way. In every single fanfic, he is either the bad guy, the homophobic guy, or just a background nuance.
Thing is, we could easily change that as a Fandom that does not have the word 'canon' in their dictionary, however we always chose to villanize him. And don't get me wrong, Peter does canonically become the villain, but no one is born bad. Villains are made by so many altering factors in their life.
All the other marauders got to date one of the girls at some point more or less (and depending on the fics) like the very popular sirius-Mary thing, obviously james-lily and sometimes even Remus-Marlene / past remus-lily. But no one ever gave Peter a second glance. Authors always 'invent' him girlfriends and OCs to date if they were kind enough to give him any sort of storyline at all.
Peter became a villain, yes, but he was once an innocent kid as any. He had a bright future ahead of him. He may have had hopes and dreams and secret crushes, and I hate to see that no one ever takes a second to consider it.
Peter is always faulted in fics for wanting a normal life. A normal job, a normal house in a normal place with a normal middle class life. He never was for all that explosive chaos. And everyone shamed him for it. Because sirius is a runaway with abusive parents, a very dark past and a rebellious soul, remus is a werewolf is a tragic past, no parents and absolutely nothing to lose, and James is a sunshine with a beautiful home life but a secretly crippling self esteem. Peter was just a simple boy from a simple household and trust me I couldn't tell you more because I wouldn't know. Nothing about him is clear. He's just always portrayed as a villain to be but this shouldn't be some kind of bridal shower. This is a boy who just wanted to be loved.
Maybe it's my savior complex talking, or the stick-up-for-the-underdog mentality I've got, but Peter deserved so much better than this.
There's this one fic (I didn't read it when I saw the 'petter Pettigrew is a bad person' tag) but the name really put me into perspective for a second. It's called ''the sun, the stars, the moon, and Peter''. How crushed i was when I read it.
I've always been a Pete apologist (not apologist for what he did, but more of an apologist for the person he was before he wasn't anymore.) And it just destroyed me.
In this fic there is a quote (i saw it in a tt video)
''James was always described as the sun, sirius was the stars, Remus was the moon. Where does that leave peter? He is like the meteors. Not important, but he can destroy all of them if he wants.'' CHILLS.
Tell me why do you think the betrayal hurt that much? Was it because Peter was just a background character in their lives or because he TRULY MEANT SOMETHING. to ALL of them?!?!?
Start thinking from this pov, and then build your fics, draw your fanarts (AND PLS INCLUDE HIM) and do whatever else you want.
Justice for Peter Pettigrew. He's human too.
[Edited]: I would like to make it clear that this isn't about Peter *in the marauders universe*. It's about how the fans portrait him. I'm only talking about the way authors of fics make him so one dimensional and give him no depth or plot line, and the way he is treated as a character.
I changed some of the things I've said in the rant, because someone did make me aware that i had offended them with what is said, and i sincerely hope this doesn't happen again.
#harry potter marauders#marauder fandom#james potter#sirius black#remus lupin#peter pettigrew#PETER PETTIGREW!!!!!#justice for peter#i hate when this fandom does things like this#rant#angry rant#im fuming#its so not fair#like please look at him he's just a baby he loved his friends and only ever wished to be as bright.#so done.

Heroes Recognized
As soon as Digory saw the four siblings come into his office he knew they had all been to Narnia. The noble people they become, had felt the need to tell him that four of his fur coats were gone. He made sure to tell them to not try to go back, and yes, it was possible they would go back; hadn't he and Polly. He told them they would recognise people who had been; he hoped that one of them would be able to see the Narnia in him.
Lucy was scrunching her face up in thought before the four of them left and after the oldest three left Lucy hung back. She turned around and shyly asked like still unsure of her childish mouth, and still shy of him. "Professor Kirke, you've been to Narnia haven't you?"
He answered with a simple answer "yes I have dear one."
She came back and sat down again. "Did someone go with you?" she asked innocently.
"Of course, I think it might be a rare thing for only one to go" Digory answered carefully, resting his fingertips together. Just as Lucy was going to ask another question Edmund came to get her.
"Lucy, you scared us."
"But Ed."
"Come on Lu, the others are waiting." He said as he dragged her into the hall.
"Edmund?" Lucy asked in a way to get his attention once in the hall.
"Yes Lucy?"
"The Professor's been to Narnia."
"Oh really" Edmund's interest was piqued.
"Well just think how quick he was to believe us and he seemed eager about hearing about Narnia; also he seemed to know more than he let on."
"I think I see where you're going with this."
"Do you remember when we were learning Narnian history, how at the beginning of the world there was a girl named Polly and a boy named Digory?"
"I do."
"And remember the professor's name."
"It's Digory, I remember because I thought it rather odd and funny." Lucy waited for a moment, letting what was said sink in.
"By Jove Lu, I think you're right." Ed said before turning and racing back into the Professor's study. "Professor Kirke, you were there when Narnia began, weren't you?"
"Ah so you have figured it out as well, have you." Digory stated.
"Please professor will you tell us your story?" asked Edmund.
"Ed, let's wait for Peter and Susan to figure it out; then we can all hear his story at the same time." Said Lucy.
"Alright" Edmund answered.
"Is that alright with you professor Kirke?"
"Of course Lucy. And I would just like to warn you, my friend; Miss Plummer, is coming for dinner."
"Lucy, Edmund!" The three heard Peter calling, as Susan spotted them in the study.
"Peter, I found them, they're still talking to the Professor." Susan called to the eldest. Peter came in in a rush. He took a good look at his two youngest siblings.
"Su, didn't you look at these two? They have that look of when they believe they know more than us."
"Peter they always think they know something more than we do" Susan said with a roll of her eyes.
"Hey, that's because we do know more than we let on, right Lu?"
"Oh I believe Lu does Ed, but I'm not sure about you" teased Peter.
"I think this time we both do. Right Lu?"
"I'm not confirming or denying" Lucy said with a giggle as she pulled Edmund out of the room.
"Well since you two are still here, I would like to warn you, that I have an old friend coming for dinner and I would like the four of you to be there."
"Of course Professor, we will be on our best behaviour" said Susan before she and Peter left the study.
Once away from the study Peter said, "you know Su, there is something about the Professor that I can't just put my finger on. He has a familiar sort of difference about him."
"I know what you mean; I have the same feeling, I just don't quite know what it is. … Let's go make sure Ed and Lu know of the Professor's guest and that we're to eat with them. Who knows Pete, maybe that's what they knew and we didn't."
"Ah Polly, it's good to see you. I have a surprize that I think you'll enjoy."
"It's good to see you as well Digory, I hope it is a better surprize than your last one."
"Oh I think it will surpass any of my other ones. Now let's go meet them" he said as he whisked her away to the dining room where the children were waiting in line.
"Them?" asked Polly on the way to the dining room.
"Yes them. Now then let us go in. Miss Polly Plummer, let me introduce you to Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensies." The four murmured polite hellos with Lucy and Edmund having sly smiles on their faces knowing exactly who she was.
When everyone had sat down Polly leaned over to Digory and whispered, "they've all been to Narnia but the youngest two seem to know what happened to us in Narnia."
"Yes so very true, the younger two are trying to see how long it takes for the older ones to realize it." Polly gave him a knowing smile as the maids brought in a fairly Narnian meal.
"Have you four had any fun adventures here in the country?" Polly asked carefully. The four of them spoke amongst themselves with bowed heads until Peter answered for them all.
"Yes you could say that, we definitely had an adventurously game of hide and go seek with Lucy."
"And did a bunch of exploring" said Edmund slyly.
"Find anything interesting here?" asked Polly.
"We found a beautiful wardrobe and suits of armour and animals" said Lucy.
"Animals like horses, mice, cats, fauns, dogs, centaurs, birds or interesting trees?" asked Polly casually throwing in creatures that are in only myths here.
"Miss Plummer, how would we see fauns and centaurs in England?" Susan asked.
"What would make you think about asking us about fauns and centaurs.. unless… unless."
"Unless what Pete" Edmund egged.
"Let me think Ed."
"Yes Ed let Peter think."
"Not helping Lu."
"You're welcome Peter."
"Perhaps Polly they have heard stories of flying horses in some books."
"Do you think they have read of lions and lampposts that grow like trees do, Digory?"
"I'm sure they have read of Helen and Frank, if not anything else."
"By Jove, I've got it now!"
"Yes, well get on with it Peter" said Susan.
"Yes Peter, get on with it, we all want to hear your revelation" said Edmund.
"Well let me speak then. Professor, Miss Plummer, you were the two children at the beginning of the world, weren't you?" The two of them smiled.
"Of course, it all makes sense. That is why the Professor didn't want us to disbelieve Lucy so quickly when she first told us about Narnia; because he knew she was telling the truth." Exclaimed a shocked Susan.
"Would you tell us your story now?" asked Lucy.
"What do you say Polly? Should we tell them how it all started?"
"I'm game. Then you four will tell us yours, well me, your story."

Chapter 1: Bizarre
The ringing of the alarm clock woke me up, and I'm almost late for school. I made my way to the kitchen and started to boil water in the electric kettle for my morning coffee.
"Hey, leave some of that coffee for the dog."
I stared at her and uttered to myself in confusion: why would I give coffee to a freaking dog?!
"Uhh, I really don't drink strong coffee though. A small amount of caffeine is fine."
"Give some to the dog, anyways."
For Pete's sake, why is my roommate so adamant on making the dog drink coffee, instead of eating dog food?! What's going on?
"By the way, you can't take a bath in the bathroom."
"Why?"
"Because of some maintenance problems."
"Oh, okay."
I just went on with what I'm doing and prepared for another day at school.
What a way to start the morning.
—
Students were rushing to get into their classrooms, as the bell rang throughout the hall. As I walked along the corridors and eventually arrived at the classroom, what welcomed me were two of my classmates bickering.
"Hey, we're gonna be late! I don't want to get scolded by our teacher."
"So keep going instead of being such a slowpoke, idiot!"
"Is there anyone here who listens to..."
"Just go inside the classroom already!"
Soon after, our adviser arrived. We've all settled in the classroom and we were briefed about the events for the new school year, and asked if we had accomplished the task we were given to do.
My eyebrows slightly raised in disbelief— we had an assignment? On the first day of school?
Still baffled, I looked around to see that my classmates were rummaging through their bags and getting sheets of paper. Great, just great. As if this day couldn't get any more bizarre than it already is.
"Miss Suzuki, where's your paper?"
I tried as best as I could to find it in my bag, but not a single piece of paper was there. Because who even gives an assignment on the first day of school?!
"Didn't you befriend the people who were at the gate, Miss Misako Suzuki? Hello, Miss Suzuki?"
I looked up to answer our class adviser, but strangely, her image started to get blurry along with my classmates.
"WHAT in the..." As I got up from my bed, I shook my head and blinked to see I was still in my room. "What a weird dream."
I jolted awake, and I'm still trying to make sense of all of those in my mind— the series of weird events, especially being scolded on the first day of a new school year because of a task I've forgotten to do.
Phew.
"Good morning to me, I guess?"
I proceeded to do my daily morning routine. Time passed by so fast, and before I knew it, I'm walking on my way to school.
It's my third year at the Academy of Mythological Sorcery. A school for everything about the Philippines' mythology— especially the mythological creatures, and how we, the sorcerers, aim to fight against those dark forces of nature.
Why I chose to be a sorcerer, one might wonder. Long story short, I simply long to bring justice, for my father's undeserving end.
—
The school bell rang, indicating that it was time for the first class. As I walked along the corridors leading to the classroom, I saw from afar that two of my classmates were having a banter.
"Welp, gotta get in the room before Miss Flores arrives!"
"Then keep going instead of moving slower than a turtle, you dumb idiot!"
"Is there anyone here who listens to..."
"Just keep going!"
It's weird. Didn't I arrive at the similar scene yesterday? Or maybe it was what happened in the bizarre dream that I had?
I finally reached my designated classroom. Nothing new, really. I have pretty much the same classmates as I had for the past years. Only the school year, adviser, and room has changed.
But my classmates were discussing something, immersed in conversation with each other. And it seems like they're talking about the same topics.
"Hello there, Misako! I'm glad we're classmates once again."
"Couldn't be more glad as well, Sai. I hope there won't be difficult missions this year. I don't wanna-"
Rin, a friend of mine, intervened. "Ah, Misako! Aren't you the one who got scolded because she forgot her assignment on the first day of school?"
What... What is Rin talking about? And yet again, this feels oddly familiar. I've had this feeling of familiarity (and oddness) ever since I arrived in the classroom.
"Rin, what on Earth are you talking about?"
"Sai, didn't you have it, too?"
"What did you have that I didn't?"
"You know, that dream! Everyone's been talking about it ever since they got here. By the way Misako, did you also have that weird roommate who asked to give some of your coffee to their pet dog?"
I slightly scoffed, recounting the bizarre bit of the dream. "Yeah. That part was weird, like why would anyone give coffee to their dog?"
Oh. It could be that I wasn't the only one who had that bizarre dream. Maybe this was caused by a sorcerer who manipulates people's minds and dreams - if such a sorcerer exists, that is.
"Rin, what time is it?" A classmate had approached.
"It's 7:15 AM,” Rin promptly told them, before turning back to me, “Looks like someone else will be late and be scolded for their forgotten assignment instead of you, Misako."
"Whatever, Rin."
"Keep quiet, everyone! Miss Flores is approaching!"
My classmates stopped whatever they were doing and hurriedly went to their seats. As the footsteps grew near, everyone fell silent, in anticipation of what our new teacher would look like.
As our new adviser stepped in the room, everyone stared in shock and disbelief. Miss Flores looked exactly like the teacher in our dreams— wearing the same flowy beige dress, dark brown trench coat, pair of heels, and stood straight, exuding an authoritative aura.
In a whispering manner, Rin said, "Isn't she in our dreams as well? Even their hairstyle and face are the same!"
"Stop talking about those dreams, Rin! And stop pestering Misako too." She slightly pinched his arms.
"Awwww... Sai! Don't be like that—"
"I'm asking for silence right now, everyone." Miss Flores looked around and waited for the students to settle down in their seats.
"It has occurred to me that perhaps, I'm not the only one who had these string of bizarre events in their dream. Am I right?"
"That dream?"
"Miss Flores had it as well?"
"Do you guys think she also had that weird roommate in her dream?"
"For real?!"
"Phew, good thing Miss Flores isn't a terror one like that in our dreams."
Rin's whisper was loud enough to catch Miss Flores' attention. "Would you have preferred me to be one, Facundo Rin?"
"No, definitely not, Miss. I-I'm just surprised."
"Anyways, let's set this matter aside for now. I'll consult with the master sorcerers later—"
Miss Flores' talk got interrupted and our attention was averted onto the door that flew open.
"Apologies, Miss Flores, for being late."
"No worries. Please proceed to your seat..." Miss Flores looked at the door for a while and suddenly became quiet. She stood frozen in place, as if she just saw a well-known celebrity who arrived at our classroom's doorstep.
"My, oh my. Why are you all so quiet? Is it because of my face? Tee-hee, I'm quite flattered." The late new student has now stepped inside, walking in front of the board.
"Hey, isn't that the weird roommate who appeared in our dreams?" One of my classmates exclaimed, recognizing the new student that seemed to be in our dreams, as well.
Miran nods in agreement, and declares afterwards, "Wait, he is... I feel like that person instigated all of these events in our dreams, and introduced himself through that. He even played the role of being the roommate!"
"How quick-witted you are, Miran. I really hate to be a pretentious person. So I'll stop feigning cluelessness on this matter. Unlike that person."
Rin whispered, looking sideways at the new student, "What is he blabbering about?"
"Hello everyone! Yes, you're all correct and I'm indeed involved with all the bizarre dreams that each of you had. Yeah, that weird roommate. But just why did that old geezer make me use my sorcery in that way? Anyways, my introduction has been long overdue— I'm Iyaan Morin. A sorcerer who can manipulate minds and dreams."
Prologue
Halls were engulfed in flames and the ceiling started to fall, little by little. Debris were scattered everywhere.
I attempted to stand up, but my wounds and the blazing heat of the fire in my surroundings made me wince in pain.
How did it come to this? What did I do to deserve all of these? All I wanted was to bring justice to my father's death. Why is the world against me?
The mysterious figure with a sinister aura looked down on me. "So you're the child of that man. Hindrance upon hindrance… I guess you have to meet your end as well."
I fell to the floor, lying down with a limp. My vision grew blurred and I felt my consciousness slowly slipping away.
"Hey, Misako. Misako!"
I closed my eyes, fearing for my life, and everything turned pitch black.

Notes: Peter Parker x Female Reader
All characters in this story are 18+
I know. 6 months since I've uploaded something, but here's another toe-curling smut for you <3 thanks for all love I've been receiving even though I've been gone.
------
“Which one is this for?” You asked, holding the foreign Lego piece, not knowing where to place it.
“Oh! That’s the last piece I was looking for. Put that on the top, right here.” He pointed to the arch of the plastic building, indicating where to put it.
You leaned over, carefully moving forward to gently connect the Lego pieces.
“There! Voila!” You cheered, impressed that you finished about a quarter of your Hogwarts Lego project with Peter.
“Great! Now we have about… 1,500 more pieces to go!”
You took a deep breath, already tired of how long you guys have been building this. You took a look outside, the sky was painted with deep rose and tangerine, slight hints of indigo parading the ends of the horizon.
“Pete, let’s take a break. I’m hungry.” You stood up, making your way towards his kitchen.
“Uh, sure. What do you wanna eat? I have…” he followed you before opening his fridge, checking to see what he had in store, “Well, I um… I don’t really have much. May hasn’t gone shopping yet.”
“What about pizza?” You proposed.
“I have pizza dough. You wanna make it ourselves?”
“Make pizza with you? The last time you were in charge of cooking, the fire department showed up not even an hour later.”
“Hey! That was one time like forever ago!”
“That happened last week, Peter.”
He narrowed his eyes at you, huffing. You giggled.
“Look, it’ll be fun! Us two, cooking, creating something homemade. Come on.” Those big brown eyes of his practically begged you with just the bat of an eyelash.
You gazed at him, a smile creeping up your face.
“Fine. But I’m in charge of oven duty, not you.”
Afterward, you two started your cooking adventure. Having Peter even be in the kitchen was already a fire hazard, so you took on most of the work, letting him do the easy parts.
You watched intently as he rolled out the pizza dough, a pretty smile on his face as he enjoyed the activity.
You couldn’t help but get lost in the minuscule act, something so small doing so much to your heart. You felt pure infatuation run through your veins, your eyes practically twinkling as you watched the person you loved most.
You knew crushing on your best friend would have you end up in a ditch, a hole deep and wide enough to keep you from crawling out, a dark abyss that held all your pent-up feelings. Emotions that pricked you each time you saw Peter’s heart-wrenching smile.
You didn’t know if he liked you back, you wondered if it was even a possibility, hoped there was a small part of him that felt the same way you did.
You’ve known him forever, he’s been your sidekick since you could remember. Even when you found out that he was Spiderman, you still stuck with him through thick and thin, never leaving his side.
You never thought your relationship would turn up the way it has, but now you are stuck. Adhered to this impending adoration you hold for Peter fucking Parker.
Lost in your thoughts, you didn’t even realize when Peter tried to catch your attention.
“Hey? You alright, my love?” He looked concerned, slight fear on his face.
“What?”
“Why do you have that look on your face?”
“Huh? What look?”
He gazed at you, studying your features, eyes marked to your chest,
“Nothing. Um, I’m done with the dough. I already put the sauce on it.”
You took a deep breath, reaching over the kitchen island to grab the sliced cheese.
“Here, put the mozzarella on it.”
When the pizza was prepared, you took the pan and placed it inside the oven, setting it.
“Okay, we just gotta wait a little while, and then it’s done.” You announced.
“Alright. So… what do you wanna do?” Peter leaned against the counter, looking down at you. His stance sent strange chills down your spine, you gulped, trying to get your conscience together.
“I- I dunno. What do you wanna do?”
“Wanna watch a movie?”
“If you say Star-“
“Star Wars. There are new episodes of the man-“
“No, Peter. I’m not watching that shit again.”
“Why not?! You made me sit through five Twilight movies!”
“Don’t act like you're not on team Edward!”
“I’m team, Alice!”
You gazed at him, a grin staining your lips before you rolled your eyes, letting out a laugh. He couldn’t help but laugh at himself, the two of you cackling together.
“Okay, alright, we don’t need to watch Star Wars again. For your sake.” He put his hand on your arm, squeezing it.
You gazed up at him, your cheeks suddenly heating up.
“Uh… let’s just talk, until the pizza is done.”
He nodded his head, walking back to the living room to grab a seat on the couch.
You sat next to him, keeping a safe enough distance from him, for your sake, and your panties, of course.
“So, tell me something about yourself.”
You grinned,
“You know everything about me, Pete. You’ve known me forever.”
“Yeah, but people still hold secrets. Tell me one of yours.”
You kept your eyes on him, crossing your arms.
I’m in love with you.
“You first, Parker.”
“Hm… well, this secret is one of my worst. Truly horrific.” You tilted your head at him, “I’m… I’m a Leo man.” He confessed, putting his head into his hands as if he was terrified at what he just shared.
You gasped in mock offense,
“Leo?! Oh god, no!” You wailed, covering your eyes.
He laughed, shaking his head,
“I know… I know, It’s my biggest character flaw.”
You giggled,
“My biggest character flaw is not being able to have an orgasm.” You admitted, sharing a personal confession with Peter.
His brows knit together, his gaze shifting.
“What do you mean?”
“Well… I’ve only had sex once, and the guy didn’t make me finish. And I’ve you know… experimented with myself before, but I’ve never really had that big O every woman talks about. I’m kinda… embarrassed. I feel like there’s something wrong with me, you know? Guys can get off so easily, but then when it comes to women who are inexperienced and who don’t know much about their bodies, it’s a whole other situation.”
Peter listened intently, showing care in what you had to say.
“So, you’ve never had a real orgasm?” He gently asked.
“Not really.”
He kept his eyes on you, analyzing your body language.
You felt the invisible tension between you two wrap around your neck, practically suffocating you with your vulnerability. You felt your heart race, wanting to change the subject.
“Anyway, uh… I um, I think the pizza is ready.” You hastily stood up, making your way towards the kitchen.
“It's not ready yet, but it smells good.” You say, inhaling the mouth-watering scent that’s filled the room.
You felt Peter creep behind you, placing a careful hand on your waist. You didn’t jump at his touch, instead, you melted, leaning towards him.
“You haven’t had an orgasm yet?” His tone held genuine concern as if he really cared about your situation.
“It’s- it’s nothing, Peter. You shouldn’t-“
“Can I… can I show you how it feels?”
You were nearly thrown back, almost dumbfounded at his words.
“W-what?”
“I’m a firm believer that every woman should be able to have a good orgasm every once in a while. You are such a hard worker, honey. You put in so much care and effort into your everyday life and into the people you love and… and I just can’t see how you haven’t blown up with all that stress you must have.” You were completely starstruck by Peter at the moment, you thought your feet had molded into the floor, “Let me… let me take care of you. Show you how good it feels to finally let go, and have that earth-shattering orgasm you’ve been waiting for.”
You stood staring at him, unable to open your mouth. Had he just said what you thought he did? Propose an offer that would completely change your life.
“Peter, you- you don’t need to do that for me. I know you care about me and all, but it’s not your responsibility.”
“I know, but this feels like it is. I want you to have this experience, to step into a new path in your life.”
You gazed into his honeyed orbs, contemplating the idea.
This would be a whole new venture for you, a life-altering experience that you’ve been dying for. Denying the offer seemed like a foolish choice.
“…It’s okay if you don’t-“
“I want to. I want to experience it.”
He blinked,
“Are you sure? Like one hundred percent positive?”
“You're right, Peter. I need to experience this, I need to let go for once.”
His eyes never left yours as a smile stained his lips.
“So, we’re doing this? We’re really doing it?” He questioned, leaning closer to you. His chestnut orbs sparkled with underlying excitement, as did yours.
“We’re really doing it.”
-
As soon as Peter peeled off your sticky panties, your mind started to ramble.
Has Peter done this before? If so, how come he hasn’t told me? Does he like me too? He wouldn’t do this just as a friendly gesture, would he? How does this affect our relationship from now on? Is he—
“Hey… hey, you're alright. I’m here, Angel.” The nickname slipped out his lips so smoothly, so perfectly, it nearly stopped your heart.
He was so gentle with you, rubbing your thighs carefully, whispering soft affirmations to soothe you, treating you like something so fragile, a thin layer of glass.
“Are you sure you wanna keep going?” You felt your heart thump throughout your body as you looked down at him, his face inches away from your velvety folds.
“I mean- my pussy is already in your face so…” he chuckled, his warm laugh calming you.
“Alright… if I’m hurting you or anything, please speak up. Don’t be afraid to talk to me.”
“I will don’t worry.”
He took one more look at you before his thumb trailed to your throbbing clit, drawing slight circles around it. The instant shock had your head thrown back, soft moans escaping your lips.
“Shit… you're already soaked. Did I do this to you?” He continued his movements, playing with you like a guitar, pulling each string with pure delicacy, with one prominent goal in mind. You whimpered, breath heavy.
“Tell me, Angel. Who did this to you?”
Suddenly, his finger sunk inside you, almost too easy. You let out a roar, chest rising and falling as your gaze narrowed to the curly-haired boy between your legs.
“You! You did, Peter! All you!” The pleasure was overwhelming, you felt your entire body heat up, your mind spinning.
His fingers curled inside you, hitting that sweet spot of yours. You gasped, gripping onto his bed sheets as your eyes rolled to the back of your head.
“Good girl… such a sweet girl. You like that?” He praises, fingers digging deeper. You can’t help but continue to moan, eyes closed as you take in how fucking amazing this feels. Suddenly, you feel Peter’s hand slap your throbbing clit. You yelp, looking back at him.
“Eyes down here, baby. Look at me while I make you come.” His sugared demands came as a surprise to you.
Never have you seen Peter in this light before. It makes you feel a type of way, an instant feeling of desire. All you wanted was him. All of him. Every single inch of his cock just buried inside you.
“Peter! Oh- oh fucking god!” You felt something burn within you, complete ecstasy running through your veins as Peter’s thick fingers continued to destroy you.
“Talk to me, princess. Tell me what you want.” Your eyes practically burned into one another, Peter’s chestnut orbs were filled with lust. You wished he could always look at you like this.
“I want- shit, I want to come. Please, please let me come. I’m begging you!” He smiles, diving into you as his hot tongue starts to draw circles around your little bundle of nerves. Harsh moans escape your lips, your legs starting to shake.
It was as if his lips were a work of magic, moving them in such an inconceivable rhythm that you thought your mind was going to explode. With how he was devouring your soaked pussy and playing with that honeyed spot within you, it felt like you finally reached nirvana.
Is this what heaven feels like?
“Such a sweet pussy,” he groans, fingers hooked inside you,
“God, you taste so fucking good. I could eat this pussy all night. Shit. Why didn’t you let me fuck you sooner?” He dives back into his succulent meal.
You couldn’t answer him as crying out your moans was the only thing you could do. You started to wonder if this was really happening. Was Peter about to give you your first orgasm?
You even realize that he’s been humping the mattress this whole time, fucking out his throbbing boner.
“God! Peter! I’m gonna- I’m gonna come!” Your chest thumps rigorously, all your nerves start to light a fuse inside you. You start to feel lightheaded, bliss starting to kick in as Peter continues to play with your body like his own goddamn toy. “I’m- I’m gonna-“
Suddenly, he stops. You quickly look at him, all your limbs trembling as you whine.
“Why- why did you-“
“All this time I’ve been waiting, just fucking dreaming about this baby.
Now that I’ve got you, I’ll never let you go. I want- no, I need to feel you wrapped around my cock. I gotta make a mess inside you if you’ll let me. I’ll promise to make you cum on my cock for all eternity if you do.”
You stared at him, completely dumbfounded. You needed at least three to five business days to process what he just said.
“Please, babygirl. I’m begging you.”
You laid still, those glossy orbs of yours stuck to the man before you.
“If you don’t want that it’s alright, I’ll just—“ his ramblings were cut short as your lips connected to his, kissing him with such passion that tiny whimpers escaped Peter. You gripped onto his curls, pulling him into you.
“Shut up and fuck the living shit outta me.”
-
To say that Peter’s cock was big was an understatement. You’ve never seen something so beautiful. It was thick, long, veiny, and absolutely angelic.
“Holy shit.” You blurt, eyes locked onto his leaking tip.
“What? Is it too big? Or too—“
“No- Peter. Your dick is so… wow.”
“Really? Do you think so? I always thought it was—“ You shut him up again with your puffy lips, you couldn’t wait any longer to have him deep inside you.
“I don’t want you to go easy on me. Just fuck me like there’s no tomorrow, baby. I need you.” You plead before ripping off your top, your breasts falling in front of him. His chocolate orbs immediately stared at them.
“Can I suck on them?” He asks softly, his hand grasping onto your pebbled nipple. You nod your head, biting your lip in anticipation.
He lays you back down onto his sheets, his pink lips immediately attaching to your chest. You whine with pleasure, his hand reaching down to your abused clit to play with it again.
His candied kisses mark your body with much love as if he’s branding you.
Never have you felt this euphoric.
You feel his cock brush over your cunt, as if he was asking permission to completely indulge inside you.
“You have my word, Petey. Please let me feel you.”
His pupils widen before he catches a kiss on your lips. As your tongues dance together, his large length slips inside you, stretching you out with blazing felicity. You both moan in desire, wanting more.
His thrusts increase as he brings your knees up to his chest, completely fucking you insane like how you begged him to.
The bed bangs against the wall as he pounds his cock within you, your cries filling the room.
“Oh! Just like that! Fuck, Peter!”
“You feel so fucking good. My god… such a tight pussy. Jesus Christ— I could cum already.” He groans, kissing you. You whine against his lips, arms wrapping around his back to pull him deeper.
“You fucking slut. You love my cock, don’t you? Can’t get enough?”
“Never! Oh, my fucking—“ you didn’t think he could sink any further, but when his cock hit your cervix, you completely lost your mind.
You could feel him throb within you, your walls gripping onto him for dear life, never wanting to let him go.
Harsh claps ran around his bedroom, you were definitely gonna feel the aches in the morning.
Peter was right, why didn’t you let him fuck you sooner? His cock was addictive, this was a feeling you could never get over.
You started to go numb as he pounded you senseless, utter babbles were all you could make out.
“Already cock-drunk, baby? That dumb brain of yours can’t handle my pretty cock? Huh?” He teased.
You honestly didn’t even know what he said. All you could feel was that huge cock inside you just absolutely tearing you up from the inside, and out.
You felt that burning feeling again, soon realizing that you were gonna make a mess on him.
“Gonna let me feel you? Come on, Angel. Let me feel you.”
Suddenly, it happened.
Your back brutally arched as all your muscles tightened, your intense orgasm raging throughout your body. You screamed Peter’s name like a damn prayer, trembling harshly as your cunt gripped Peter’s cock with all its glory. It was unlike anything else you’ve ever endured. Staining his thick length with your saccharine cum is what enlightenment must feel like.
He grunts, “That’s it baby, that’s it. Good girl, such a pretty slut for me, yeah? Tell me you’re all mine.”
“I’m- I’m all yours. I swear. I swear, Petey.”
He smiles before crying with triumph as he finishes inside you, painting your walls with his delicate seed.
As the high died down, you couldn’t help but feel fulfilled. A smile pricked your lips as you started to laugh, euphoria clouding your head. Peter looked over as you were giggling like a maniac. He too busted out chuckling as it was contagious.
“Why- why are you laughing?”
“Because… because that was the best sex I’ve ever had! I feel so… so fucking happy.” You confessed, a huge grin attached to your lips.
Peter blushes, softly laughing before catching a much-needed kiss on your lips. His kiss was filled with tenderness, sweet love fusing between you.
Suddenly, a burning smell pricks your nose.
“Peter,” you try to break the kiss but he doesn’t stop, wanting to caress you forever, “…Peter— what’s that smell?”
“Huh? What… oh shit. The pizza!” He jumps out of bed, running butt-naked towards his kitchen.
You sigh as you shake your head.
“Call the fucking fire department again!”

Pete "Maverick" Mitchell x f!reader
t/w: age gap (two consenting adults here), making out? cursing. I think that all.
Maverick knows he shouldn't pursue you. You're one of his students. Surely you would want to date an old has been. He just can't help himself.
You’d caught Maverick’s eyes as soon as he saw you laughing with the other Top Gun graduates at the Hard Deck. He hadn’t expected to see Penny here, she all but wrote him off anyway.
“We’re not doing this again, Maverick. I met someone. We got married last spring,” Penny showed him the rock on her finger.
“Bradley!” your sweet voice calls out, making Mav turn his head so Rooster doesn’t notice him. Mav pretty much decides right then and there, your voice is the best thing he’s ever heard.
He also doesn’t miss the way Rooster takes you in, making a big show of checking you out. He watches Rooster pull you tight against him, and there is something deep in Mav’s stomach he knows can only be jealousy.
Jealous of his dead friend’s son. Jealous about one of his students. God, what a mess.
There is no way this could work. You were at least twenty years younger than him, and one of his students.
But, damn, he can’t take his eyes off you.
Maverick spends the time between now and him getting thrown out of the Hard Deck trying to stop himself from thinking about you.
~
It doesn't work.
From the moment you walked into the training room to when you went up in your jet, flying with such grace, Maverick couldn’t shake you.
After dogfight football, the crew talked Maverick into joining them at the Hard Deck.
“Here you go, Captain,” you tell him, handing him a beer.
Maverick hides the groan that slips out of his mouth at your use of his rank pretty well. He gives you a nod. “Thanks, Squish.” He uses your call sign, not trusting himself to use your rank, or hell, even your actual name.
Maverick found out they call you Squish as a call back to the stuffed animals you smuggled into basic training. Allegedly they’d reminded you of home, and you were known to lend them out to those who needed a little bit of home.
As if he couldn't fall more for you.
Your sweet heart, jaw-dropping good looks, and impeccable flying? Fuck.
If only he could get you away from Rooster. Mav and Rooster still hadn’t made up, and he was just going to add stealing Rooster’s girl onto the long list of reasons why Rooster hated him.
Maverick is pretty good at eavesdropping and learned that you and Rooster weren’t an item, but he’d heard enough from Hangman and Coyote’s conversation to know Rooster definitely had his eyes on you.
The only thing he doesn't know is how you feel about Bradley.
Maverick isn't worried, though. He may be older, but he hasn’t forgotten how to pull a lady when he needs to.
You settle onto the stool next to Maverick, and it takes everything in him to keep his hand wrapped around his beer and not around your shoulders.
~
You bought your instructor a beer. Your hot instructor. Your perfect in every way instructor.
What the hell are you thinking?
The grip on his beer bottle doesn’t go unnoticed by you. Does he think it’s inappropriate that you did that? You’re damn well old enough to go for him. Shit, Maverick could ram into the side of your jet and you would thank him.
Maverick looks over at you and gives you a smirk.
You pray the dim bar lights hide your flush.
“So, what’s the story between you and Bradley?” Maverick asks you, his voice neutral, but you can tell he’s fishing for information.
You could kill Bradley for the way he’s been hanging all over you lately. Bradley hasn’t said, but you know there is something in the past that has him and Mav rattled. You also know your best friend knows you better than yourself and could tell immediately that Maverick caught your eye.
“We’re just friends,” you admit, hoping you aren’t reading into anything. God, that would be embarrassing. “He’s like a brother to me.”
Did the side of his mouth just lift? You hope he caught on to you insinuating that Bradley was in the friendzone.
“Is that so?” Maverick gives you a stomach-flipping smile before bringing his beer to his lips. He tips it back, and you’re lost in what he’d taste like if you kissed him right now.
The tension between the two of you becomes so palpable, the next thing out of your mouth falls out with no consent.
“You know I’m not worried about the age difference, right?” Your voice is low. Almost so low you didn’t think Maverick heard you at all. He works his jaw, obviously battling some inner war. He squeezes his eyes shut, then reopens them. Maverick keeps his gaze forward.
“I am going to make an excuse to leave, wait five minutes, meet me in the alleyway.” His voice is hushed, and he speeds through the instructions, you almost don’t comprehend.
Your heart starts pumping overtime as he throws back the rest of his beer. He stands and feeds the gang some bullshit excuse about needing to head home to rest before training tomorrow. They brush him off, calling out his age. Mav holds his hands up in defeat and turns toward the exit. He doesn’t look at you as he slips out the door.
The next five minutes feel like five years.
When your phone finally shows that five minutes have passed, you put the device to your ear. “Oh hey, Mom! Yeah, I’m good. Let me step outside so I can hear you better.”
You follow Maverick’s path out the door unnoticed. In an instant, he has you backed up against the wall of the Hard Deck. One hand settles on your waist, the other above your shoulder, braced against the building. Maverick breathes you in, planting small kisses along your neck.
The butterflies ripping through your stomach are almost too much. Is this really happening?
Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is kissing your neck. He runs his nose along the trail of kisses he left until his mouth is at your ear.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to get you alone,” he murmurs, his hot breath sending chills down your arms.
“Please kiss me before I wake up from this dream,” you sigh. That’s what this is. It has to be. There is no way Maverick likes you back.
“This isn’t a dream, Y/N,” he whispers. This is the first time he’s used your name, and it sounds amazing coming from him.
You grip his bomber jacket in your hands, pulling him closer to you. Maverick is objectively not the tallest guy, but he still towers over your frame.
“Please, Pete,” you almost beg. Hearing his name must be his undoing, because his lips are meeting yours in a greedy kiss.
Expert lips move against yours, and Mav’s other hand finds its way to your hip. His fingers slip under your shirt, burning into your skin, causing a soft moan to fall against his lips.
This makes the corner of his mouse rise, he knows exactly how he’s making you feel right now.
Of course he does. The man is just as egotistical as Hangman. All these naval aviators are the same, but that doesn’t stop you from wanting him.
Maverick has you right where he wants you, and you couldn’t care less. He could ask you to rob a bank and you wouldn’t think twice.
“Let’s get out of here,” he says in your ear. His voice is hoarse. You have the same effect on him as he does you. This makes you grin.
“Do I get to ride on the back of your motorcycle, Captain?” You test out using his rank again.
He pulls you in for one last kiss, before practically dragging you to his Kawasaki.
“Honey, you can do anything you want if you keep calling me that.”
a/n: phew. I couldn't let another day go by without writing for the man himself.

You’re a Wonder
Part 1
Series Masterlist
Pairing: Rooster x Kazansky!Reader
Warnings: Alcohol, Swearing, Mentions of death
Request: Nope
Word Count: 7.7k (she’s kind of a long one sorry babes)
Synopsis: Y/n “Wonder” Kazansky is called back to Top Gun for a mission. It’s your first team mission in years, due to an accident in the past that left you shaken and scarred. This pretty much follows the events of the movie but with some changes and additions! One being you of course, dear reader.
A/N: Hello lovely people! This is my first multi-chapter Top Gun story and I am literally so so excited! I hope you enjoy! :D
You watch as Hangman throws his darts at the board, each one landing in the center. Next to him, Coyote lets out a scoff and covers Hangman’s eyes as he throws the final dart, and just like all the others, it lands in the dead center.
Hangman laughs and smacks Coyote’s hand. You roll your eyes, “No fucking way, man.”
Looking over at you as he picks up his beer, Hangman raises his eyebrows, “Oh? What makes you say, Wonder?”
“You’ve got to be cheating somehow, I swear.” You say, knocking back the rest of your drink. You frown down at the now empty cup and excuse yourself from the two in your company.
You walk over to the bar and place the glass on the counter, waving at Penny as she heads over, “Could I bother you for another, please?” You ask as she takes your cup.
Chuckling, she tosses her towel over her shoulder, “Like you could ever be a bother, Y/n.” You smile at her as she turns to get the ingredients for you drink.
“Ah, it seems that I need more limes. Excuse me, my dear.” She says to you before heading to the back. You let out a hum and drum your fingers on the counter as you look around.
It’s getting later in the evening and the bar is starting to fill up. You lean back and smooth out your khaki shirt, the uniform making you subconsciously sit a little taller.
Turning to the side, you feel a small gasp of surprise leave your mouth as you lock eyes with none other than Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.
His eyes go wide as a smile grows on his face, “Y/n?” He asks as you let out a laugh, “Holy shit. Hey, Mav.” You say as you walk into his already open arms. You hug him tightly before pulling away and shaking your head, “The hell are you doing here?”
Grinning, he shrugs, “Well, I could ask you the same thing but I’m pretty sure I already know.” As Maverick speaks he leans back and just stares at you for a moment. You notice and chuckle as you hold your arms out to the side, tilting your head down a little.
“Gosh, I haven’t seen you in years, kid.” He sighs, shaking his head.
Taking the seat next to him, you nod, “Yeah. I’ve been pretty busy.”
“No kidding,” Maverick says, “What- was it your graduation that I saw you last?”
You reach over and give his shoulder a light shove, “Absolutely not! That was way long ago. You’re age is showing, Pops.” He laughs at the comment, running a hand through his hair, “Glad to see that that nickname hasn’t gone away.”
“Did you think it would?” You ask, leaning your arms on the counter as you settle more comfortably into your seat.
With a shake of his head, Maverick spins his cup on the counter a bit, “No. I’m glad it didn’t. But it also has caused a bit of an issue, you know.”
“How so?” You ask, though you have a feeling about what he means.
“Well,” Maverick takes a drink of his beer, “Your dad and I have been in a three decade long debate on who’s the better wingman. But now the debate has shifted to which one of us you like more.”
You laugh, leaning back in your seat, “Oh my gosh, you two. Well, I love you both and you’re practically married at this point so I’d say it’s a pretty even tie.” You say, but then make a face, “Though I think Dad is a little more above you, as he did give me my wings.”
Maverick snaps his fingers, “I knew it.”
You clap a hand on his shoulder and give it a squeeze, “Aw don’t be too sad about it. He was always going to win.”
That gets a laugh out of him, “That’s fair.”
As you watch him, you realize just how much you missed him. Maverick has been in your life for as long as you can remember. Hell, Ice had even made him your Godfather. He had been there for every little thing in your life, and wow was it so good to see him again.
“Okay but seriously,” You start as you snap out of your little daze, “What are you doing here?”
He smiles at you, “Hmm. That’s classified.”
“Ah,” You hum, “It wouldn’t have anything to do with my dad, would it?”
Maverick’s smile only grows, “That’s... also classified.”
“Oh you’re no fun.” You scoff, a chuckle rattling your chest, “Ah well, keep your secrets. I have a feeling I’ll see you around soon enough.”
“I’m sure you will.” He returns.
Just as you're about to make your departure, Penny returns with your drink that you had completely forgotten about, “Sorry that took so long, kiddo. Jimmy must have misplaced the limes when taking care of shipment.” She says as she slides it over to you.
You gladly accept it, “It’s no problem, Penny. Besides, it gave me a chance to catch up with good ol’ Mav, here.”
“Oh, is that so?” Penny asks, sending a playful look to Maverick that you don’t miss. You smile at the two before looking over and noticing Phoenix entering the bar, followed by two aviators that you recognize from the academy.
“Well,” You state, standing up with your drink in hand, “It was really nice to see you again, Mav. But my friends just got here and just like you, I haven’t seen them in quite a while.” As you speak, a look of confusion grows on Maverick’s face as he glances over to where you walked over from.
He gives you a questioning look, “Were you not already with your friends?” He asks.
You laugh, “Who? Hangman? Absolutely not. Coyote, yeah. But not Seresin.”
Maverick makes a face, “That bad, huh?”
“I have a feeling you’ll find out.” You say with a grin.
“I’m sure I will.” Maverick agrees, glancing over to the growing group of aviators surrounding the pool table. You reach over and give Maverick’s shoulder a squeeze, “See you around.”
You turn to go but then look back, “Oh, and Penny-” You motion to Maverick’s phone on the bar. Penny gasps and a smile grows on her face as she walks over and rings the bell.
Everyone in the bar cheers and Maverick smiles even though it is very evident how confused he is. You hide your laugh behind your hand.
“What... is happening?” Maverick asks Penny, who simply just steps to the side to reveal her famous rule sign. In reading it, Maverick lets out a breathy laugh and looks to you, “Really, Wonder?”
You shrug, “Rules are rules, but thanks for the drink, Pops!” You say as you raise your drink to him before turning on your heel and heading over to your friends.
All you hear is Maverick’s defeated laughter as you walk away.
“No way- Wonder!” You’ve barely joined the group before Phoenix is colliding with you, her arms wrapping around you in a bone crushing hug. You return it, a wide smile on your face, “Hey, Phoenix!”
She pulls back and gives your shoulders a shake, “I haven’t seen you in forever, how have you been, babe?” She asks, the nickname making you chuckle.
You throw your arm over her shoulders and let out a breath, “Oh I’ve been good, honey, just flyin’ the skies.” The exchange between you two comes so natural.
Though she was a couple of years ahead of you, the two of you were inseparable during your academy days. People would often joke that you sounded like an old married couple with how you spoke to each other.
“I can’t believe we’re all here right now. This is nuts.” Phoenix says as she looks around the group, shaking her head in disbelief.
You nod along with her words, “Yeah... just seems like we’re missing someone.”
As if on cue, you look off to the side and see none other than Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw walking into the bar, signature sunglasses covering his eyes.
“Bradshaw,” Hangman says as he leans on his pool stick, “As I live and breathe.”
Rooster heads over and gives the man a grin, “Hangman,” He greets, “You look... good.”
“Oh, I am good,” Hangman says as he lines up his pool cue, “I’m very good.”
“Eugh, either get a room or move over,” Phoenix says as she nudges past Hangman to get to Rooster. She lands a punch on his shoulder, “This is how I find out your state side?” She asks accusingly.
Rooster shrugs, a smile tugging at his lips, “Yeah, it was a bit of a short notice.”
Phoenix sighs, “Shut up.”
You laugh as she winks at you before focusing back to the game of pool. Pulling your attention away from your friend, you find your eyes locking with Rooster’s.
The two of you take a step towards each other. You stare into his eyes, and he stares back, both of your faces expressionless.
“Bradshaw.” You speak first.
“Kazansky.” He responds.
There’s a beat of silence between you two before a wide smile grows on your face, at the same time as Rooster’s. You step forward and pull him into a tight hug, “It’s good to see you, man.” You say before pulling away.
“Good to see you too, Wonder.” He says, his hand straying on your arm for just a moment before falling to his side. A part of you wishes it hadn’t left so soon.
Hangman’s clearing of his throat pulls your attention away from the curly haired man, “So... Phoenix, you gonna introduce us to your friends?” He asks, a grin tugging at his mouth.
Rolling her eyes, Phoenix crosses her arms, “Fellas, this here’s Bagman.”
“Hangman, actually.” He corrects.
“Whatever.” Phoenix says, clearly unphased, “And behind him is Coyote.”
You watch as Coyote waves at the two behind Phoenix, who return the action.
“Guys-” Phoenix motions to the men behind her.
“I’m Payback.” You recognize the one to her right as he speaks.
“Fanboy.” You recognize him too. They had been at the academy the same time as you but you never really got the chance to get to know them since they were a couple of years ahead. The only thing you did know is that they were damn good pilots.
In fact, all of you were.
“Oh!” Phoenix breaks you from your thoughts, “I don’t think you guys have quite met Wonder yet. Not since before graduation, at least.”
You lean your back on the bar as you wave at them with a smile.
“Her and Bradshaw graduated a little bit after us.” Phoenix explains, “Making them first and second in their class.”
Fanboy takes a step towards you, squinting at your name, “Kazansky?” He asks, looking up at you, “As in, Admiral Kazansky?”
You nod, “The very same.”
“You’re his kid?” Payback asks, surprise showing in his eyes.
“That I am, boys.” You respond, taking a sip of your drink.
Payback lets out an excited laugh, “Holy shit. Y’know, I’ve heard stories about your flying, Wonder.”
“All good things, I hope?” You ask, a smile growing on your face as a little heat rises in your cheeks at the sudden attention.
Fanboy nudges Rooster with his elbow, “Hey, you’ve flown with her, yeah? Do the stories live up?” Rooster only nods as he glances at you with a smile.
You see an inkling of pride glisten in his eyes as you speak, “Yeah he did.” You pat his shoulder, “And he was up in the air when I beat his ass. Every. Single. Time.”
A chorus of oooh’s floods through the group, causing Rooster to run a hand down his face as a laugh shakes his shoulders, “Always a competition with you, Wonder.”
Your laughter brings you to miss step a bit and you find yourself bumping into someone next to you. “Shit, sorry!” You say as you turn, only to be met with yet another aviator in khakis, “Oh hey, what’s up?” You wave at him.
He waves back with a small smile, a cup of peanuts in his other hand.
“When did you get here?” Hangman asks, his attention now on the man.
You glance over to him as he answers, “Oh, I’ve been here the whole time.”
Hangman hums, “Ah, a stealth pilot.”
“Weapons service officer, a-actually.” The man responds, wiping crumbs off of his lap as he fidgets in his seat.
“One with clearly no sense of humor...” Hangman mutters. You shoot him a look and he holds his hands up in defense after catching it.
Phoenix heads over, “What do they call you?” She asks him.
He looks up at her, his eyes going slightly wider, which honestly you didn’t think was possible, “Uh, Bob.”
"No, your callsign.” Fanboy says from where he stands next to Payback.
Bob swallows and looks around awkwardly, “...Bob.”
“Wait, you’re Bob Floyd? My new back seater?” Phoenix questions as she eyes him up and down.
Nodding a little aggressively, Bob answers, “Y-yeah. I guess I am.”
Phoenix grins at him and hands him a pool cue, “Alright. Let’s see what you’ve got then.”
Bob takes the stick, clearly excited but unsure. You notice him still sitting however and give him a little shove to his feet, “Go on, she won’t bite.” You tell him as he grins at you before going over to the pool table.
You sip on your drink as you watch the game continue, politely declining when Coyote tries to get you to join.
“You backing down from the chance to beat someone’s ass? Unheard of.” Rooster says from next to you, earning him a light shove.
“I’m not always looking for a competition, you know.”
“Bullshit,” Rooster tries to cover up the word with a cough into his fist.
You roll your eyes and turn to say more, but your eye catches more aviators entering the bar, “Holy shit.” Your remark causes the others to look up.
Fanboy lets out a low whistle, “Is that... Harvard? Yale? Man, they’ve got everyone here.”
You turn back to the group, confused, “The hell kind of mission is this?”
“That’s not the question we should be asking,” Phoenix says, her arms crossed, “Whatever this mission is... it’s brought in the best of the best. So if we’re all here, who the hell are they going to get to teach us?”
Her question leaves the others in silence as they take a moment to think. You turn over your shoulder and glance at Maverick, the gears turning in your head, “I’ve got an idea..”
“What was that, Wonder?” Phoenix asks. You snap back to her, shaking your head, “Nothing. Just a hunch.”
“Oh, don’t tell me that the Admiral’s daughter has insight on the mission.” Hangman says, earning him a glare from you.
You get up and push at his shoulder, “Nope. I know as much as you do- besides, I don’t even think my dad knows I’ve been called in.” Leaning back against the bar, you shrug, “I just have a feeling, is all.”
“Do share with the class?” Hangman motions for you to continue.
You squint at him for a moment, “Hmm. No.”
“What? Why?” Hangman asks, clearly flabbergasted. You take a drink, “Because you’ll find out tomorrow, Bagman.”
Shaking his head, Hangman lines up his cue once more, “Unbelievable.”
His muttering is drowned out as you turn in your seat, resting your arms on the cool countertop.
You take a long sip of your drink, which was honestly mostly just juice, as Penny was very aware of your early call time and absolute hatred for mornings.
Bless her, you think as you notice Rooster walk up next to you. He leans his back on the bar, his body turned away from you.
“So...” He starts, nudging you a bit with his elbow, “I hear you’ve been going on a lot of solo missions?”
You nod and lean back so you can see his face, “You’ve heard right.”
He pulls his gaze away from the game of pool, his face suddenly serious, “Still flying alone then?”
You find it hard to swallow the lump forming in your throat as you stare into his eyes. The mixes of browns show nothing but concern, something that you hadn’t expected. Not yet, at least.
You offer him a soft smile, “Yeah. Still flying alone.”
He places his hand on your shoulder. It’s warm and comforting against your skin, “Are you okay?”
You take a moment to breathe in deeply and then slowly release, “I’m doing better.” You tell him.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asks, his voice so full of care and caution that it makes your chest tighten. You look forward for a moment before leaning in closer to him as your voice lowers, “Bradley... you’re a good friend- one of the closest I’ve got. You’ve been there for me through thick and thin, but...”
You pull away just a bit, just enough to fully look at him. And so he can look at you, “I don’t want to talk about this right now. Not with you, not with anyone. Not ever.”
His face pulls in such a way that it makes you want to take your words back immediately, but you know you can’t. You’ve never talked about what happened. You’ve never been able to say it out loud. You don’t think you’ll ever be able to.
He reaches down and takes your hand in his, giving it a squeeze, “You’ll need to talk about it eventually...”
You turn back to your drink, suddenly wishing it were stronger, “...I know, but not today.” You say simply, your hand still clasped in his. He takes a step to be closer to you, and you’re thankful for him to just be near you.
Looking up from your hands, you lock eyes with Maverick. He’s giving you a concerned look, which you can do nothing but shoot him a small smile to ease his obvious worry. He returns one of his own before his eyes flick over to Rooster.
In that moment, you’re thankful that Rooster has his back still turned to the man, unaware of the holes that are practically being burned into the back of his head with how Maverick is looking at him.
With a squeeze to your hand, Rooster suddenly leans down and whispers in your ear, “I know what’ll cheer you up.” He says before heading over to the juke box. You turn and watch him unplug it before he walks over to the piano.
A wide smile grows on your face as his fingers begin to move over the keys. The others notice and Phoenix grabs your hand, “Come on!” She says as she pulls you over to Rooster.
Your hand subconsciously slides across his back as you make your way next to him just as he begins to play Great Balls of Fire, his hands moving so effortlessly across the keys.
The words to the song fill the room as everyone begins singing them at the top of their lungs. You feel your heart beat faster and your body fill with nothing but absolute joy as you yell the lyrics.
You don’t know why you’re all here. You don’t know what this mission is about or what’s in store for all of you. But what you do know in this moment is that this is a damn good song and you absolutely adore the people that are singing it with you.
Waking up to the sound of your alarm made you want to rip it out of the wall and chuck it out onto the tarmac so that it would be run over by a plane taking off. But you didn’t. Instead, you rolled over and turned it off, before literally dragging yourself out of bed to get ready.
The process of getting ready went by in a haze, the movements so natural to you that you could do them in your sleep. God, wouldn’t that be amazing.
Before you knew it, you were sitting down behind Rooster as you all filed into the hangar for your first day. Rooster had made a comment about how you looked like hell and all it had earned him was a not so friendly hand motion from you and your overly tired brain.
Only when Warlock stood in front of you all did you finally feel yourself wake up. He addressed you all and explained the mission that you were brought in for.
“Your instructor is a Top Gun graduate, with real world experience,” Warlock continues. You turn as your hear footsteps nearing you, “This is Captain Pete Mitchell. Callsign: Maverick.”
As he passes by, you can’t help the smile that tugs at your lips. I was right, you think. Your smile fades just as quickly as it comes when you notice how rigid Rooster’s shoulders go, and how he won’t meet Maverick’s gaze as he takes the podium.
“Hello,” Maverick starts. You don’t really hear what he says as you watch Rooster turn his head to the side, his hands clasped tightly on the table in front of him. You glance up as Maverick holds up the manual you had spent countless nights poured over, “I’m sure you all know this inside and out, right?” He asks.
A chorus of yes’s and a couple of damn right’s fill the air. You nod along with everyone, but then feel a truck full of confusion slam right into you as Maverick proceeds to through the text in the trash.
“Well forget it.” He says.
Sorry, what? you think.
“When you’re up there,” Maverick points to the sky, “nothing from a book is going to help you do what you need to do. All you need to do is to trust your instincts, and go.”
There’s a beat of silence as Maverick’s gaze drifts over all of those before him, “Don’t think. Just do.”
You let out a huff of a breath, tapping the pencil in your hand against the book that you were now supposed to just forget.
Maverick nods and faces everyone with a smile, “Alright. Let’s see what you can do.”
After doing checks on your jet, you headed over to Phoenix, who was kneeling on the ground next to hers. You engage in a friendly conversation before noticing that her eyes have drifted to something behind you. You follow it and find Rooster and Maverick in what seems to be a not so friendly conversation.
You let out a long sigh, a part of you having wondered how long it would be before those two would start at it.
As Rooster walks away from Maverick, you turn back to Phoenix, who is looking at you, “What is going on between those two?” She asks.
You purse your lips and opt for a shrug, “I’m not one to say.”
Phoenix nods slowly and stands up, brushing her hands off on her pants, “Well, I hope that they can amend whatever is between them before the mission.”
“I hope so, too.” You agree, though knowing what you know, you aren’t sure that it’s very possible.
Rolling your shoulders out, you reach over and give Phoenix’s arm a squeeze, “Have fun up there, dear.”
She grins at you, “You know I will, honey.”
You give her a little two finger salute before turning on your heel and heading towards your own jet. Running your hand over the nose of it, your entire body lights up with adrenaline. As you climb the ladder and sit down, securing your straps, your excitement only grows.
God you love flying.
Maverick had had you all warm up before splitting you up into pairs and having those not flying back at the hangar listening in. Right now, you were sitting by the radio as Payback and Fanboy took to the sky with Rooster as their wingman.
“Good morning, Aviators, this is your Captain speaking.” Maverick’s voice filters through the radio and you can’t help but roll your eyes as he continues. He explains that they’ll be doing dog fighting exercises, with him as the one they need to try and evade and shoot down.
“Hey, Mav, how about we put some skin in the game?” Payback asks, his voice light.
“What were you thinking?” Maverick returns.
“How about... 200 pushups?” Payback’s answer makes you groan. From next to you, Bob pushes his glasses up his nose, “He’s going to kill us.”
You lean back and cross your arms, “No kidding.”
“That’s a lot of pushups.” Maverick’s voice crackles over the radio.
“Yeah, well it wouldn’t really be a challenge then, would it?” Fanboy questions, the laughter evident in how he speaks.
There’s a beat of silence before Maverick chuckles, “Alright kids, let’s go.”
You learn forward in your seat as you hear Maverick take the team by surprise, their yelling immediate. It seems to happen so fast, how Rooster covers for Fanboy and Payback, only to be taken out by Maverick a moment later.
As the fight is called to an end, you frown. You could practically feel Rooster’s anger towards Maverick through the radio, and you’d be lying if you said it didn’t worry you.
The next to go are Phoenix and Bob with Hangman. You stand next to Rooster as he leans on his hands by the radio, muttering a, “Watch your back, Phoenix.”
Your leg bounces relentlessly as you listen in, only to hear Phoenix and Bob get shot down within minutes, having been left to hang out to dry by none other than Hangman himself.
He sure does know how to live up to his name.
You can’t help the slight chuckle that rises from your throat when Hangman asks Phoenix if she sees Maverick, only for her to respond with, “I’m dead dickhead.”
“See you in the afterlife, Bagman.” Bob puts in, just as Hangman is taken out by Maverick.
The groans that fill the room cause you to drop your head into your hands. Damn, Maverick was good. You knew that but still, what the hell.
Next are Hangman and Rooster, a duo that you had a bad feeling about. Your feeling was only proved when Hangman proceeded to speak, “So, Rooster. Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?”
“Would it matter if I did?” Rooster sounds very clearly uninterested in whatever it is Hangman has to say. The other, though, doesn’t seem to catch on. Or, maybe he does, and he just doesn’t care.
You’re pretty sure it’s the latter.
“What’s the deal with you and Maverick?” And bam, there it is. You sigh, your fingers coming up to pinch at the bridge of your nose.
“That’s really none of your business.” Rooster says, the annoyance evident in his voice, “Where is he, anyway?”
“Been here the whole time.” Maverick’s voice crackles through. You walk over to the window and peer out, just barely being able to see the three jets in the distance. You watch as Maverick flies up until he’s on top of Rooster, looking down at him from an inverted position, “Can you see me now?”
Maverick is met with silence, which he fills with an exasperated, “Come on, let’s get this over with.” Your stomach quite literally drops as you watch the two planes fly down in a spiral.
“What is with these two?” Hangman asks, no doubt confused as everyone else.
“The hell are they doing?” Fanboy asks from where he stands next to you. Shaking your head, you cross your arms, “Being children.” You state.
As they fly down, your annoyance grows into worry as they break the hard deck. You look over and share a concerned look with Bob. What the actual fuck, is all you can think as the two grow closer to the ground.
Their yelling is drowned out by the sound of the radio telling them to pull up. Pull up. Pull up.
Maverick is the one that pulls away first, followed by Rooster just as he was about to nosedive into the ground. Their pointless fight ends with Maverick taking the kill, once again triumphing over Rooster.
You let out a breath, your knuckles having gone white at your sides from how tightly you were clenching your fists. You don’t even wait to hear what Maverick says before you’re storming out of the room and towards the tarmac.
You hear feet run after you and you don’t even have to turn to know who it is, “Wonder, wait up!” Phoenix calls as she comes up next to you. She places her hand on your arm, “Hey, where are you going?”
Your feet come to a halt and you turn to her, “To go tell that little shit that he can’t get away with pulling stupid stunts like that just because he’s angry at Maverick.”
“What is he even mad about?” Phoenix asks, clearly as annoyed as you by this entire situation. You sigh and run your hand down your face, “Why don’t you come with me and ask him yourself?”
She does. The two of you stand off to the side as Rooster finishes his pushups. The moment he’s done, you're walking over ready to confront him.
“What the hell was that up there?” Phoenix asks as Rooster sits back, his head down, “Don’t worry about it.” He sounds close to tears as he speaks, not looking up to meet either of your gazes.
“Look,” Phoenix kneels down next to him, “I’m going on this mission, but if you pull a stunt like that again and get kicked out, then you leave us flying with Hangman.”
You see Rooster process this, but all he does is focus on pulling at the skin around his finger nails. You take a step towards him but remain standing, “Why did you do it?”
You already know the answer, but Phoenix doesn’t. Rooster still won’t lift his head, “He pulled my papers. Set my career back four years.”
“What?” Phoenix asks, her voice dripping with disbelief, “Why would he do that?”
Rooster looks over his shoulder at the setting sun, his head shaking, “I don’t know.”
Letting out a breath, Phoenix squeezes his shoulder, “Okay. I’m not going to just tell you to get over it because... I know I wouldn’t. But what I will say is to try and move past it for right now. Focus on the mission, not who’s teaching it.”
She rises to her feet, Rooster still opting to look at anything but the people before him. But he does nod in acknowledgement to her words.
That seems to be good enough for her, “Alright. I’ll see you around.” She pats your arm before turning and heading back inside.
You stay where you are, still looking at the defeated man before you.
“You gonna scold me too?” Rooster asks, his voice dry.
Though he isn’t looking, you shake your head, “No. I was going to ask if you wanted to get a drink.”
That gets him to finally look up at you. He meets your eye for the first time since you came out here, and he is visibly confused.
You scoff and offer your hand to him, “C’mon, Bradshaw.” He stares at it for a moment before taking it, his hand fitting into your own like a puzzle piece.
-
An hour or so later, the two of you are sitting in a booth at the Hard Deck, a couple of beers in each. You’re laughing over a story you’re telling from your first few years at the academy.
“Yeah, we flew those planes in such a way that I’m pretty sure if our instructor had actually seen us, he would have had a stroke on the spot.” You chuckle as you take a drink, “God, I’ve never been yelled at like that before.”
Looking over the brim of your cup, you can see the flush of Rooster’s cheeks as he laughs, “Yeah,” you continue, “-and to this day I still have no fucking clue what he was actually saying. Just that he was piiiissed.”
“Oh God, it was always you getting into the most trouble.” He sighs, finishing off his drink and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
You lean back into the booth, “Yeah... Y’know I think when I joined a lot of people expected me to be like this, carbon copy of my dad or something. But no, I was the furthest thing from it.”
“You ended up being more like Maverick than anything.” Rooster points out, his eyebrows raised at you. You shake your pointer finger at him, “That I did. And I was breaking rules left and right, so much so that I’m honestly really surprised they didn’t kick me out.”
Rooster scoffs, “They wouldn’t. They saw how good of a pilot you are.”
“Psh, sure.” You wave him off, “For how often we got into trouble and how they yelled at and ridiculed us... we all still knew how much they loved us.”
Rooster’s mouth drops open, “Dude, everyone loved you.”
“No they didn’t.” You protest as you take a long drink.
“Uh, yeah they did. They either loved you, wanted to be you, or wanted to fuck you.”
You ball up a napkin and throw it at him, “Eugh, don’t be gross!”
He holds his hands up in defense as he laughs, “Okay, okay. But seriously, you guys were like this weird little infamous group that everyone wanted to be apart of.”
You reach across the table and poke at his shoulder, “Hey, you were apart of our group, too.”
Rooster shakes his head but a fond smile finds its home on his face, “Nah, not until waaay later.”
“Whatever, you were always a part of it in my eyes.” You say as you push your cup over to him. He gladly takes it and finishes the drink off, nodding at you in thanks.
You lean forward and rest your chin on your hands, “Yeah... gosh, what a time. Me, Ace, Ghost... and Comet. They were something else, huh?”
Rooster hums in agreement, his hands playing with the napkin that you threw at him earlier. You clear your throat and scratch at the back of your neck, “You know... I think about them every time I go up in the air. About everything we did together. All of us.”
Looking up at you, Rooster reaches across the table and you see the hesitation in the ways his fingers twitch before he gently takes a hold of your hand, “Do you still think about him?”
You stare down at your hands, at the way his thumb is softly circling around your knuckle. You nod and smile a little at him. With your free hand, you reach under your shirt and pull out your dog tags. Shifting them in your hand, you reveal to Rooster that Comet’s tags are on the same chain as yours.
“Him especially.” You say, your voice quiet as your throat tightens, “He’s always with me... still flying.”
“He’s still flying...” Rooster repeats, the softness in his voice bringing tears to your eyes that you didn’t welcome. You look off to the side, every part of you hoping that he didn’t notice.
He did. But he didn’t say anything. Instead, he held your hand just that much tighter and began telling stories of his own. Before you knew it, you were laughing again.
After a drink and countless stories more, you both decided that it was time to call it a night. As you walked out of the bar, he had his arm slung across you shoulders, your arm wrapped around his waist.
It was something so natural for the two of you. Wanting nothing more than to just be in the company of one another and know that the other is there. It was something that you truly cherished about your friendship.
“I could’ve stayed in there all night but wow these call times are insane.” You groan.
Rooster chuckles as you near his Bronco, his arm falling from your shoulders in favor of opening the door for you, “Why thank you, kind sir.” You say as you slide into the seat. He gives you a wink before making his way to the drivers side.
The music is loud the minute the car starts, and it only grows louder as he drives. The cool summer night air feels so good on your skin and you close your eyes, allowing yourself to forget everything for just a moment.
Just one moment.
“You never really were a fan of mornings.” Rooster’s voice breaks you from your thoughts. You look over to him and shake your head, “Nope, never.”
You shift to get more comfortable, “You’d think with being in the navy for so long that I’d get used to it but nah, I think it only grew my hatred for mornings more.”
“Most people become used to it, but not you?” He asks as he glances over to you.
“Absolutely not.” You run a hand down your face, “In fact, I think somehow it had the opposite effect.”
Rooster laughs at your inconvenience as he drives. Jerk, you think, but there’s still a smile tugging at your lips. You look over at him as you both fall into comfortable silence. His curly hair blows in the wind and his skin seems to glow under the moon. As he drives, you notice how at ease and just completely himself he looks. It’s nice... and kind of hot.
It’s unfair for someone to just look like that naturally, you can’t help but think. You shake your head at the thought, only then noticing that Rooster is looking back at you, having parked the car at your destination.
“Enjoying the view, Kazansky?” He asks, a playful grin on his face.
“Eh,” You say, a chuckle in your throat, “Could be better.”
That gets a laugh out of him. A good laugh, the type that makes his head fall back and his hand come up to his chest. God do you love making him laugh.
The next day is the same as before. Maverick continues to nail every single jet he flies against, sending every pilot down to their fate of 200 pushups in the blazing heat of the sun.
When you finally hear your name called to go up, you make a promise to not let him do to you what he’s done to everyone else. Or rather, you just really don’t want to do pushups. Why are those even a thing. Absolutely terrible.
Moments later, you’re up in the air with Phoenix and Bob, the three of you looking around for the captain.
“Oh Captain, my Captain...” You call in a sing song voice, your eyes scanning the terrain below you. Your head is off to the side when you feel your entire jet get flung off center, “Holy shit!” You shout as you put on your mask and clip it into place.
“The hell!” Phoenix calls as she steadies her jet.
“Morning aviators.” Maverick says to the three of you, “How are we feeling?”
You look back and see his plane behind you, taunting you. You snap forward, “Like I’m about to really enjoy seeing your ass do 200 pushups.” As you speak, you go off to the side until you’re covering Phoenix’s tail.
“Oh, a little cocky there aren’t we, Wonder.” Maverick tells you.
“Not cocky, Mav.” You state, your eyes constantly watching the man as he flies around you, as if he were a shark circling his prey, “Is that so?” He asks.
You let out a deep breath, “Haven’t you learned yet not to get into a fight with a Kazansky while in the air?” You say to him.
“Ooooh...” Phoenix's voice comes from her plane. You smile as your eyes flick over to her and Bob’s jet before focusing back on Maverick, who is laughing, “I’ve been told I’ll never learn.”
“I think today we’re going to change that.” You say, your hands firmly gripped on the yoke.
You can hear the smile in Maverick’s voice, “Let’s just see how this goes, shall we?”
As he speaks, you find him just a little off to the side of your two planes, “Phoenix, on your six.” You tell her.
“I see him.” She responds, “How we lookin’ Bob?”
“Like we’re ready to kick a fossil’s butt.” Bob replies.
You can’t help the wide smile that grows on your face under your mask, “Alright then, let’s show this old timer what we can do.” Right as you finish talking, the two of your planes break apart, leaving Maverick to choose which one to follow.
“Oh, leaving your wingman uncovered, are we? Who are you, Hangman?” Maverick quips as he turns and follows Phoenix. You feel your mouth drop open, “Low blow, Mav.”
He chuckles, “Hey, I’m just getting back at you for the old man jokes.”
You stifle a laugh, “Fair enough. But we’re just having a little fun out here.” You say as you pull on your lever and ascend, the pressure pushing you back into your seat. Your body is then lurching forward as you increase speed, following behind Maverick.
His movements are sporadic yet you can’t help but admire the control he has as he moves his jet to avoid your line of fire. You watch him closely and turn when he does, “Phoenix break left!” You shout at her. As she does you drop and fly out from under Maverick’s jet, placing yourself in between him, and Phoenix and Bob.
“Wonder just saved your ass, Phoenix. Now it’ll cost her.” Maverick says, the confidence in his voice only pushing forward your want to beat him at his own game.
“Oh!” You shout at him, “Who’s cocky now?” You yell out as you break right, Maverick following you. He’s close to you, but not close enough.
You tightly grip the controls as you watch him out of the corner of your eye, awaiting his next move. As he moves it feels as though he’s almost playing with you. Your growing annoyance is replaced with surprise as he suddenly shoots off in front of you. In the way he moves you know what he’s about to do.
You’ve seen it a thousand times and heard your dad’s stories of it a thousand more. You can already sense the infamous cobra maneuver before he even does it. In an instant, just as you anticipated, he breaks and flies right over head.
With a shout, you break along with him and pull back. Your entire body moves to the side as you turn and line up your planes. You see his head snap to the side, the surprise evident in his eyes for the split second that you see them.
In your next breath, you’re pulling up and flipping your plane over his. You see his head follow you just as you break and flip your plane back upright, landing directly behind him. Even before your plane fully settles in, you lock onto his jet and the tone is going off in your headset.
“WHOO!!” You scream, a little surprised in yourself for pulling it off, “Mav is dead!” You cheer, your hand reaching up to take off your mask as a victorious laugh rips from your chest.
You hear Phoenix and Bob practically screaming in your ear and look over to see their plane, both of them inside going absolutely ballistic, “That was insane, Wonder!” Bob yells to you.
You do a little spin motion of your hand to him before looking off to the right to Maverick. He is staring at you, his mouth hanging open, “Where the hell did you learn to fly like that?”
“Where do you think?” You ask, reaching up to tap your name plate. Maverick shakes his head and chuckles, “Of course.”
You smile widely at him, “How about we go see Hondo about some pushups, Mav.” You say to him, earning a not so kind hand motion from the man.
Laughing, you pull your plane off to the side and head back to the tarmac. As you come in for landing, you can see all the others running out.
The second your jet touches the ground, you jump out and are met with a crushing hug from both Phoenix and Bob. The three of you cling onto each other and jump in a circle like little kids, “That was fucking awesome!” Phoenix cheers.
“Hell yeah it was!” You shout as the three of you pull apart. Just as you're out of their hold, you feel yourself being lifted off of the ground and spun around. A yell of surprise escapes you, quickly followed by a fit of laughter as your brought back down, the arms around your waist releasing you.
You turn quickly and find that it was Rooster. He’s staring at you with a smile and a look that makes you feel like you could fight the fucking sun and win. As you stare at him it feels as if it’s just the two of you. Just you and him. He steps forward and looks as though he’s about to say something, but is interrupted as the others crowd around you.
Hangman and Coyote are shaking your shoulders and everyone’s cheering so much that it feels like you might as well have just solved world hunger or something. “WOOHOO!” You yell, both Fanboy and Payback yelling it with you.
You stumble slightly due to your laughter but a familiar hand is grabbing onto your own as you recenter yourself. Your eyes meet Rooster’s once more and the two of you share a look before throwing your head’s back and yelling a joint, “Whoooh! Great Balls of Fire!”
He pulls you into a hug and doesn’t release you completely as you all make your way back to the hangar. His arm is across your shoulders and yours is wrapped around his waist, a mirror of the night before, and it just feels so right.
As you walk, you look over and see Maverick getting started on his pushups, Hondo counting them out for him. You smile and give him a two finger salute in passing him.
He shakes his head but you can still see the smile on his face.
God does it feel good to win.

(hope you don't mind walls of text bc i'm apparently incapable of talking about narnia any other way)
Oh, they would be so conflicted about the idea of staying. How can their children not want to go home? Everything is strange here. There are wars here! But there are wars back in England, too. And they see, they can't help but see, that their children are so much more alive here, so much happier and stranger and wilder and themselves. They understand, now, why their children haven't fit in England this past year. (Maybe they never did, they think, with something like fear and something like wonder, remembering Edmund's troubles at school, the fear in Peter's eyes and the frustration in Susan's as they caught all the burdens of growing up and none of the strength, the way Lucy would lose herself in a book as though searching for a thing she could not even name.)
And on a purely practical level, they can't deny the advantages of staying. (Assuming they're allowed, because apparently it's up to the magical talking lion? Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie are still getting used to the rules here.) The war here is over quickly, while the one back on Earth is only getting worse, and it's not so many years before Peter will be old enough to enlist; the children will be safer in Narnia. No more trying to feed and clothe four growing children with ration tickets, but seeing them live like literal kings and queens! There are their educations to consider, ofc, but they'll certainly have the best tutors in the land if they stay in Narnia, and a castle library, and all the children are already smarter here. (It comes from having been older, they say, though their parents are still trying to decide if they believe that, still trying to understand what that means.)
And then there is Edmund and Jadis.
They see it first, in cracked, faded murals on Cair Paravel's half-standing walls, in the carvings inside Aslan's How. They hear the stories Narnians tell around the fires. Their sons, in glorious war against a hated oppressor. Edmund, striking down the Witch's wand and turning the tide of battle. War is not glorious, Mr. Pevensie knows that (I hc he was discharged from the army with an injury to explain why he's back in VDT even though it's supposed to be 1942), no child should have to fight thinks their mother, and the parents assume this is why Edmund grows quiet at the mention of these legends.
It is Peter who takes his parents aside and tells them the truth behind the legends.
It's after Caspian almost revives Jadis--after Peter almost does. Edmund is curled up in a corner of the How pretending to be fine, and his family can see very clearly he is not, and Susan is sitting very close to him, talking quietly. When she takes his hand he doesn't pull away, but clings. Peter sighs that he must apologize, later; if only there wasn't so much that needs doing. No, Edmund doesn't want to talk to Peter right now, and their parents shouldn't try to talk to him, either. Just let him Susan calm him down. Why does Edmund need calming down? Well, it was their first days in Narnia...
Peter makes it clear he, Susan, and Lucy have long since forgiven Edmund for any wrongs he might have done them, but he doesn't need to. Any anger Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie are feeling is not directed at Edmund. Mostly they feel pain and guilt, that they didn't protect him from the physical hardships he went through, didn't teach him well enough not avoid pride and greed and temptation. They wonder again if Narnia is good for their children.
"It is," says Peter. "You don't know how much it is. Ed--well, you saw, last winter, how hard it was for him. Edmund the Just hasn't struggled with winter like that in years."
His parents aren't sure this is reassuring, but there is something in his eyes, a calm certainty they haven't seen in Pete Pevensie from Finchley, so they choose to believe him.
(Mrs. Pevensie finds a moment later to hug Edmund anyway.
"Why?" he asks.
"Oh, just making up for last winter. You looked so pensive, but I thought you wouldn't want me to; you're growing up so fast."
"Except for the days I'm getting younger," he jokes, but he hugs her back tight.)
(And then of course Aslan lets them all stay. It'll take some time for Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie to get used to living without electricity and with fauns who don't wear pants, but for their children they will do their best.)
narnia au where their parents were with them at the train station during the beginning of Prince Caspian. To say goodbye to them. Their parents being a little bit clingy(ptsd and overprotectiveness) wanted to both see them off on the train. The parents accidentally end up in Narnia with them. Shenanigans abound. Just imagine these two proper British parents having to deal with the fact that a magical talking lion made their children Kings and Queens, and they were for 15 years in Narnia, Narnia in general, watching their children fight and command armies, Caspian, and the fact that their kids are not really children anymore. Also Mrs and Mr Pevensies having to rely on their children in this unfamiliar place.
ooh yes, there is definitely untapped potential in Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie ending up in Narnia. They would struggle so much with everything. Why are there talking animals and trees and water. Why won't our children listen to us. Who gave our tiny daughter a dagger. Why are her siblings acting like Lucy having a dagger is fine.
Also, if they tag along from the start of PC, they would quickly meet Trumpkin, and I'm laughing so hard at the thought. Because he's also a pretty skeptical person, but they'd have different ideas of what counts as reasonable.
Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie: a real dwarf? How is he here? How did we get here?
Lucy: oh, Aslan probably summoned us.
Trumpkin: the magical king lion? don't be ridiculous. everyone knows there haven't been talking lions in Narnia in centuries
Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie: but other animals talking is normal
Trumpkin: obviously
Also the battle at the end? There are very serious thoughts to be had about the parents seeing their children all grown up, and realizing how capable they are (and mourning a little at how much responsibility they've obviously had to shoulder so young. they sent their children to the countryside to give them as much childhood as they could, and instead war found them. war and greater burdens than they would have had back home), but I keep getting distracted trying to decide which would be funnier, the book or the movie version.
Movie:
Mr. and Mrs. P: Lucy's not riding into battle! None of you should, but especially her!
Peter: don't be ridiculous
Peter: she's riding alone into the forest to find a lion
Or there's the book version of events, where Peter, Edmund, and Caspian fight in the battle while Susan and Lucy are off riding around on a lion, and literal Bacchus shows up with Silenus and a bunch of maenads and they conjure grape vines and wine everywhere.
(askfjdl and then Edmund eats dirt. The dryads are eating dirt at the victory feast and Edmund eats some because it looks like chocolate and imagine his parents. They've just started accepting their children actually are grown up and capable and royalty--and then their youngest son eats dirt.)
Also, maybe Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie look at Caspian and go "oh, another child carrying way too much responsibility. oh, you're an orphan and your uncle tried to kill you? okay, we have five children now"
