To add on the age debate again.
Tbh I think that being uncomfortable with actors ages is pointless because if they are over 18 and doing more adult scenes they can do what they want. I haven’t seen the casting for Nikki but I assume he’s over 18. The problem is when shows like Skins hire 16-17 year olds to do more explicit scenes and make the actors uncomfortable and to the extreme of the 1994 movie with Kristen Dunst at 10 kissing a 30 year old Brad Pitt. Also you didn’t make me feel belittled it’s mainly when other people brush off concerns because ‘it’s in the book’ argument. I would not care if they changed Armand to 19-20 because yes he’s young but legally an adult! Sometimes it’s hard to portray these relationships on screen.
I’m very excited for devil’s minion and it’s probably my favourite pairing in the books. I think that the main concern started for me when I saw a post about Old Man Daniel’s sex life and emphasising Armand being frozen at 17 physically and those comments do feel maybe unsettling? I’m fine with age gap relationships we know that Armand is mentally mature from living over 500 years.
I also think this stems from a tiktok I saw discussing the obsession of young/old porn in Japan and the danger of those barely legal videos. Obviously Anne Rice wasn’t writing the books because she’s some huge creep… She wanted complex characters and relationships but the vampires don’t really have sex in the books the blood stuff is intimacy and companionship. The show is its own entity and having the vampires have sex it kind of changes things and I think that it’s a better idea to age them up slightly just so there’s no real underage problem like you said.
Aging Daniel up was a show thing though, and I personally like it a lot.
But yes, Anne did not write the books to emphasize this... though often a lot of her stance on "underage" bleeds through. Anne Rice wasn't exactly the most unproblematic author, there is a lot that can be said here.
However, the way the show has done it feels very fitting to me. None of them are too young to touch these subjects, and yes... Joseph Potter is older than 18 :)))
I think he will be a great Nicki.
As per Devil's Minion, I for one cannot wait to see it on screen, and to get a version that literally spans decades?! That's amazing, imho. There is so much "food" coming up *laughs*

What i'd change in this piece of media! Or just rewritting it. Because truly it is right now.
Today's episode is.... Twilight!
Because for some reason i started thinking about Edward and Jasper and how they could be fixed and it turned into this clusterfuck. Anyways.
Twilight.
It is so damn boring! But it has potencial.
Ok. Let me explain myself. I started reading twilight's fanfiction without having ever watched the movies. At the time the movies came out, i was too young to take any interest in it, although the women around me did, and they fawned over Jacob and his shirtless scenes. Which was how i was team Jacob (not anymore tho ew)
Nevermind that, thing is, i only watched the movies after reading the phenomenal and creative fics. So, to me the movies paled in comparison.
Don't get me wrong. Twilight was a huge sucess, so it clearly did something right. This is only my opnion, okay?
Lets go.
So, the author created so many interesting characters and then proceeded to give us the most boring ones as the protagonists.
And Edward and Bella are actually interesting. But we got stuck with their annoying versions.
And beyond that, the really interesting side characters never have a chance to be developed. T-T
Not as much as they deserved at least.
And please, the Volturi needed a spin off of their own. Something akin to The Originals and The vampire Diaries.
Anyways, in this first part, i want to talk about how we could get into and actually develope the characters. I'll talk about each movie later.
First, our protagonists. Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.
Ok. I would LOVE if we had Edward at his antihero phase. Maybe at the tail end of it, maybe at its climax.
Would love to see Red Eyes Edward. Avenging men and women who were raped, tortured, murdered as he battles with his own sense of humanity and self hatred. Trying to do something good while still being a monster.
And yes, he would still be his edgelord self. But now his breakdowns would happen as he is covered by someone else's blood and insides. Rocking himself in a alleyway's corner, looking at nothing as the body at his feet just gets colder and colder.
At some point, he would kill someone inocent. Who was wrongly accused of something. And when he discovers this, he sees his victim's mother crying, yelling at the heavens, begging for answers, for justice. For something. Anything. And Edward would hate himself for thinking for a moment he could do good. "You're a murderer, a demon. You're the one who deserves to die."
And then we have Bella, just as she is. I wouldn't change much about her really. Just make her a bit less "not like other girls" and lessen her infatuation with Edward. Or maybe amplify it. But in a different way. She is taken with Edward not because wow, he is handsome, misterious or smth. But because he is weird. Maybe even have a monsterloving Bella. Who is fascinated by this idea of an angel of death. But as she encounters it, him, she realizes nothing is black in white. He kills people. Humans like her.
She would be attracted, but terrified. Battling against her morals. He has to feed, but he kills only those who are criminals. But who is he to play the judge and jury? And would be interesting for Edward to become more attached to life and morals (as in, murder is murder, bitch. Stop killing people even though theyre criminals and deserve it. Youre not God).
I would love to see their oposing ideas inspire each other and provoke drama and grownth.
Also, id love to see Bella's reasons to be a vampire to be more than Edward. I saw this idea on tiktok i think. And it makes so much sense.
Her reasons would be: she is a bit of a history nerd and wants to be there as historical moments are happening and live to see its repercursions; she is afraid of getting old( but not dying, since she is suicidal and has a kinda morbid curiosity about it); she doesnt want to lose Alice, or Emmett, nor Jasper or Rosalie and Carlisle and Esme; she wants to feel part of something, this family, something she severely lacked as a child and still do as a teenager.
I want a Bella that is in love and obssessed with Edward, but as the story goes on, she learns to be independent. She learns how to be confident in her weird self. And have more than just Edward, although she is very much in love with him.
She would not get pregnant. But would be a vampire because dude. She is so much better as a vampire. Lord above. And well that would be the culmination of her character growth.
Next episode:
Alice, Jasper and him being a confederate soldie or smth :)
Reminder, if you do not agree with me, thats okay. If you want to let me know about your opnion, be nice about it.
Aaaand, this is only for fun. I've never read the books, and its been a long time since i've watched the movies. So, chill.
Part 2 is among us, yo.
Here.

the nine books i read this year (part one)
while this isn't technically related to sam and colby, i figured i would tell you guys about the books i read this past year. originally i was trying to read at least one book a month, but that didn't work out in the end. but i did get to nine and that was like seven or eight more than i read last year, so i'll take it.
i'm gonna try not to give any spoilers for any of these books. just my general thoughts and overall how many stars i would give them. but if i do plan to talk about spoilers, i'll give you a fair warning.
so without further ado…
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
this book was SO fucking good. i bought it bc i saw it in target and thought it looked interesting. then i literally read it all in one night because i could not put it down. if you like murder mysteries/crime solving novels, you will like this book.
super easy to read, and it made me immediately want to watch veronica mars again. it definitely gave me that vibe when i was reading it too, so if you like that show, you'll like this.
i know there is a sequel and then a threquel and then i think a prequel???, but i haven't read any of those yet. i did go out the next day and grab the sequel tho. i just never got around to reading it. but i plan to do that this year.
probably one of my favorite books i read this year.
Rating: 5/5
Belle Morte by Bella Higgins
yall know me, i love me a good vampire book. and i think this one got recommended to me on tiktok, or i might have saw it in target and thought to buy it. the cover of this book is fantastic, and i think that along with the general premise drew me in.
that being said, this book was… fine, at best. at worst? kinda lazy.
i think the overall idea of it is interesting. vampires being known to humans but living in almost fraternity like houses, and they themselves being celebs now, humans being donors to them - all of that sounded cool to me. this book kinda hits all of the vampire shows/movies in one: a bit of true blood mixed with twilight and vampire diaries and even bits of dracula. and i'm usually here for that type of stuff.
but… this story was just not hitting the way i wanted it too.
it read like a wattpad fanfic, and then come to find out it was publish by wattpad. and look i'm happy that bella higgins got her story published, that's great. but i just think parts of this story could have been so much better. like while i was reading it, all i could imagine was "if i was writing something like this, i would do this instead of that". that's not to say i think my writing is superior or anything, i just felt like a lot of the choices in the story maybe could have used another person in the room to either flesh them out or give her another avenue to go down.
there's a sequel to this book, but i will not be reading it.
also ngl, i completely forgot what this book was about until i had to write this review and the only way i remembered what this was about was reading ppl's spoliers on goodreads so… do with that as you will.
Rating: 3/5
The DUFF by Kody Keplinger
this was a surprise read for me. i remember hearing about this book years ago back in hs, but never read it bc i really didn't want to read a book about being a DUFF (designated ugly fat friend) which is what i kinda saw myself as back then.
there's a lot to unpack there.
but, i've loved the movie version of this book and ended up watching it like three times in one week and was like "let me see if i can find this book online". i did, and then i read it all in one night. and you know what? it was weirdly refreshing to read.
first off, nothing like the movie for the most part which was both intriguing and not. secondly, the author wrote this when she was 17, and it was loosely based off of her time in hs. and honestly, it read like a high schooler speaking about being in hs. and i don't mean that as a diss. i mean that as it was nice to hear a 17 year old talk like a 17 year old and not a 26+ year old trying to write like high schoolers.
you'll hear more about that in the next review.
this book also reminded me of hs, but not in the "oh gross i hated that time" kind of way, but in a more nostalgic sort of way. it was no where near how my hs experience went, but i still enjoyed my time reading it. it was written incredibly well for a 17 year old author.
also one fabulous line that stuck out to me so much so that i wrote it down: For a girl with a such a fat ass, I felt pretty invisible.
same here girlie lmao
Rating: 4.5/5
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
another surprise read !
so, this year i bought a hulu subscription. one of the first movies that popped up for me was "the hating game". i watched it, and then immediately watched it about four more times in the span of couple days.
safe to say it, i like the movie.
found out it was based off of a book and decided i had to read it. the movie and book, in my opinion, are similar enough that if you don't want to sit through reading the entire thing, you could just watch the movie and get the same general gist. also i kinda think the movie is better.
i realized after reading this book that ppl either LOVE it or they despise it. which is very weird to me only bc the story itself is fine. the language used either by the characters/author is a bit… questionable at times, but that doesn't sour the whole book for me, if that makes any sense.
minus one instance which i will tell you about in a bit.
i think the movie made the two mc very likeable and cute (but with their own problems) but this book kinda made them more…. realistic (so, less likeable lol). but i don't mean that in a rude way, just more of like "i've definitely met ppl like this, and while i didn't hate them, i didn't love them either".
slight tangent i want to go off on: i will NEVER understand how ppl that read romance novels get so up in arms about "toxic" relationships or men in these stories and then rate the book super low bc "this relationship is terrible! you should never strive to have a man like this in your life! this is all RED FLAGS" ect, ect. and it's like…….. yeah babe, i know that. IT'S A FANTASY. this isn't real life. i'm not looking for a dude like joshua templeman. calm the fuck down and stop sucking the fun out of everything you read bc it's not totally toxicity free.
it's the same reason i get so fucking annoyed when ppl point out in twilight "omg he's 109 year old dating a 17 year old girl he's disgusting!!" ………HE'S A VAMPIRE WHO IS PERMANENTLY 17. THIS ISN'T REAL LIFE.
anyway…
i will say tho, there were some annoying parts to this story. like the amount of times the main woman character talked about how small she is compared to the guy just got a bit redundant after a while. like it's not like she's 4'11 or something. she's like my height or close to mine, somewhere between 5'0 to 5'2. and he's like maybe 6'4 MAX. so while he's definitely taller, he's not a fucking giant. that was like the only thing that stuck out to me the most while reading, bc i swear it's like every couple pages she's saying "omg i'm so smol and he's so big".
so i have to bring up the one instance of this book that i THROUGHLY did not enjoy. i had planned to rate this book a very soft 4/5. i enjoyed my time reading it, i thought the romance itself was cute for the most part, the love-to-hate/enemies-to-lovers was written decently well, a little bit too mean at times maybe, but overall i liked the book for what it was. but then…. i got to the end of the book. or the last couple pages. i won't give too much away in case you want to read it. but let me lay out the scene for you.
josh and lucy, the main characters, are in a room together. they might have just finished having sex????? i think, either way they're in bed with one another i believe. they're talking sort of romantically with one another. josh is speaking. he's telling her all of this stuff…. and then all of sudden he just casually says the r-word/r-slur. mind you, this man has barely uttered a curse word in this story, let alone a slur. and this man is intellegent, maybe a bit of a narotic dick sometimes, but not someone that would casually say that word, ESPECIALLY in the middle of borderline confessing his love for this girl he's been pining for.
so i had to knock this book down a whole ass number bc i was that upset that he said it. it felt like a word that the author uses, but not the characters, if you catch my drift. like it didn't feel like part of the lexicon josh would use, at least to me.
also earlier in the book, lucy uses the g-slur, in case you needed to know about that too. i know some ppl don't know that that word is a slur for romania ppl, so i try to give the benefit of the doubt with that, but just thought i would mention it.
Rating: 3.5/5
okay… didn't realize how long this was gonna be, so i'm gonna break this up into two parts. you can read the rest of my review on the books i've read this past year here.

Ok, I have done books, now for films/tv!
I have to say, I don’t think this was a very good year for me with film and TV. Especially film. It ended up being kind of hard to come up with a list, but here goes:
1. Come and See (1985) dir. Elem Klimov - I did not initially think this was going to make the list and I originally gave it 4 stars but I’ve found I simply cannot stop thinking about this film. It’s currently sitting at #1 on Letterboxd top 250 of all time and for good reason. I love the motif of photography. It’s brutal and heartbreaking and so stressful but yeah. Can’t stop thinking about it.
2. Harakiri (1962) dir. Masaki Kobayashi - So good, probably my current favorite samurai film.
3. The Northman (2022) dir. Robert Eggers - VIBES. I saw this 2.5 times in theaters (the .5 is because uh teenagers threw trash on our heads. So that was an experience. We had to leave halfway through but we got a bunch of free tickets out of it from the very nice manager of the theater so thank you for that.)
4. [REC] (2007) dir. Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza - Um, why have I waited this long to watch this movie? Watched it because I was writing a ‘found footage’ inspired fic and looking for inspiration and it was so good!!
5. Top Gun: Maverick (2022) dir. Joseph Kosinski - Look. Look. Here me out: plane go fast. Plane go fast and the climax was essentially beat-for-beat Star Wars: A New Hope. Don’t @ me with any discussion of propaganda, I know, okay, I know, but this movie was so entertaining and as an aviation enthusiast I had so much fun and I think this is probably the most successful unnecessary sequel I’ve ever watched. Like did anyone ask for this? No. Did it totally work? Heck yeah.
Honorable Mention: Everything Everywhere All at Once (emotional, chaotic), Raw (#OrganicCannibalism), The Cremator (um pretty fucked but really, really good), NOPE (whenever I think about the ‘eating’ scene I get a bit of anxiety, 10/10)
TV:
1. What We Do In The Shadows (Fx, 2019- ) - VAMPIRE PHASE. ACTIVATE. What else is there to say? Style icons, decor inspiration. Never did I think the American TV show version of one of my favorite films would end up actually so good. It’s funny and heartfelt at all the right moments. I’ve been rewatching it because it’s one of the few things I actually had saved to my computer (so the only thing I could watch in our 2 week internet-less hellscape) and it remains so delightful.
2. Westworld specifically season 1 (HBO) - I haven’t quite finished watching this one, and APPARENTLY now might never (except you know, flying the pirate flag), and though I disagree with popular opinion on season 2 (I liked it), I see where season 3 is really taking a downturn…but season 1 remains some of the best television storytelling and you can’t take that away. It was utterly brilliant as a standalone, truly some of the top tier television.
3. Tabula Rasa (Een/Netflix, 2017) - Speaking of twists, this had a bunch of really fun twists, the first of which I saw coming. That one lulled me into a false sense of confidence and the other two took me completely by surprise. Also had really fun fall/spooky vibes.
4. Chestnut Man (Netflix, 2021) - Also had really fun fall/spooky vibes, and good characters. Only docked points because one of the main characters gets his glasses knocked off in a fight during the climax and then not only manages to accurately fire a gun (?) but then voluntarily drives a car in the epilogue. Without glasses!!! Were they just for the #aesthetic or something? Anyway, I have not been able to stop thinking about this.
5. Yakamoz S-245 (Netflix, 2022- ) - God I love the ‘Sun’s Fucked Up’ Cinematic Universe. It’s just so fun.
Honorable Mentions: House of the Dragon (???? HOW DID I END UP BACK HERE?), Brand New Cherry Flavor (watched because people on tiktok were talking about that one sex scene and I wanted to see what the fuss was about and ended up really enjoying the series as a whole), Cracow Monsters (I have mixed feelings about the direction the series took and feel like it should have been paced better, but the vibes were pretty great), Girls (I rewatched Girls this year don’t @ me, still such a guilty pleasure)
And now. The #Salt:
:readmore:
Films:
1. Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness (2022, dir. Sam Raimi) - Yeah. I hated it. I already dug into why, you can go back and find a bunch of salty explanation posts and I probably shouldn’t drag this back up but it has to be said. This was definitely my most disappointing film of 2022. Haven’t watched a MCU movie since.
2. Ghosts of War (2020, dir Eric Bress) - This was such a bad bait-and-switch. I was promised a genre meld of war film + ghosts I got a sci-fi, pretty racist mess. Terrible. Don’t watch it.
3. Aftermath (2021, dir Peter Winther) - Another terrible ghost-but-not film. Just let ghosts be ghosts people!
4. Titane (2021, dir. Julia Ducournau) - So disappointing considering Raw made it onto my honorable mentions above! This just felt like it was trying to be two different movies at the same time and spiralled off. I actually liked one of the movies - the machine-obsessed murderer part - but when we spiralled off into the faking being a missing person/pregnancy/weird fire station stuff it completely lost me.
5. The After movies - EXCEPT the second one. Except the second one?’ You ask. Yes. Because the second one is perfect. The second one is exactly what it is like reading those 100 chapter romance fanfics on wattpad. (Though, lol, no I’ve never actually read anything on wattpad. But it’s been the same on ffn, ao3…just the After series was produced by wattpad.) Anyway, the others were terrible, but the second one was probably the most ‘successful’ fanfic movie adaptation I’ve ever seen. It is perfect. But no also so awful. XD
Dishonorable Mentions: Cats (we watched Cats but honestly I don’t remember any of it because I fully blacked out)
The list is a incomplete and a little more complicated for TV because I honestly just stop watching most shows if they don’t hold my attention, so really they’re most just unmemorable.
1. The Sandman (Netflix, 2022- ) - Unpopular opinion, but oof I could not get through this and it started putting me in an actual bad mood whenever I watched it.
2. Moon Knight (Disney+, 2022- ) - This was sort of the canary in the coal mine. Presaged my breakup with the MCU. Just couldn’t hold my attention. Showed a lot of the cracks that I’d been trying to ignore re: Marvel’s pacing and plot issues in their TV series.
3. Andor (Disney+, 2022- ) - Extreme unpopular opinion. This one isn’t very fair, because I do want to give it another shot. I stopped around episode 4 and apparently it gets better from here, but the episodes I watched were not good. I hate to say this but I feel like a lot of the praise is based solely on the cinematography and dialogue writing, both of which are admittedly very good, but the plot is all over the place. Making the first episode so flashback heavy was a huge mistake. Plot threads are introduced and then dropped. Scenes are just dropped in with no connection to what else was going on. I’ll give it another shot, but just having artful cinematography and a few impassioned speeches does not make for great television.
4. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Disney+, 2022) - I feel like people might be surprised to find this on the list because I was posting positively about it as it was coming out. And it’s true, I had fun watching it. But the longer it’s gone on just…the more obvious the cracks have become. First off, it was clearly written as a film and then stretched out into a television show. Which should not be how TV writing works. You can’t just take a long movie and put episode breaks in it. I also over time grew more and more put off but how they copy-and-pasted Fallen Order and then…didn’t mention it at all. It felt…weird. It was just a really weird decision. But like I said, I did really enjoy watching it and I think it’s better than the alternative. Because I keep seeing those early drafts go around and I’m like oh god that would have been so much worse. I think at the time too I was just really relieved that it didn’t go in the direction that I feared and so I initially reacted more favorably. I’m glad they stuck to more of the prequel film canon/vibes, and didn’t pull in too much of TCW stuff. (I know that’s an unpopular opinion, but I really don’t like TCW and I’m always glad for prequel era stuff that is independent of that. Hot take of the post.)
I really mostly feel a bit meh about most of the things I’ve watched this year. Hopefully next year is a much better viewing year!

Senior Soundtrack
Music is a love language.
Les dejo la playlist que construyeron conmigo, whether you knew it or not, de 2014 para acá.
PS: si no aparece su nombre en esta lista de canciones, lo único que quiere decir es que we have yet to share a song. Los adoro a todos.
Abarca
Burn · Lin Manuel Miranda You have the voice of an angel, and every time I think of this song I no longer hear it in Philippa Soo’s voice, but in yours.
Tuyo · Rodrigo Amarante Dancing Kermit.
Alexander

Na Na Na · My Chemical Romance Debate bus trips. Blasting it from the backseat, with Nesquik and cold pasta at hand.
I’m Not Okay · My Chemical Romance “¿Estos son los Rolling Stones?”
Being Alive · Stephen Sondheim Life’s dream: be Bobby. Not literally. That would suck.
If I Could Tell Her · Benj Pasek & Justin Paul You once said this is the song you would dedicate to me. Though I think we’ve grown past that, I will always remember how warm it made me feel when you said it.

I’m Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket · Pierce The Veil El concierto que más he disfrutado en mi vida (and that’s saying a lot), y parte de por qué fue porque fui contigo. Lloramos en esta canción y en el video que grabé con mi horrible teléfono se oye lo feo que cantamos.

You say a lot of our arguments are old and getting boring, then why are you replying? Why are you still giving us your excuses?
Because you replied to a post I made eight months ago, and I'm replying because it was my post. A post, by the way, where I was complaining about biphobia in fandom, and you replied with "well, actually, they are right".
Selfcest is a concept that is pretty much dating yourself
Selfcest is not real, tough. It cannot happen in the real world. No matter what, you cannot date yourself. As long as we know, the multiverse and/or parallel universe are not a real thing, therefore you cannot date an alternate version of yourself. It's a fictional trope. You can like it or not, but it's fictional and cannot in any way shape or form be real. We are talking about something that is not real. It's been almost a year of people complaining about something that IS NOT REAL, CAN'T EXIST, IT'S JUST A MADE UP FICTIONAL SCENARIO. And again, you don't like it? Move on. Please.
I do not frankly see how it’s racist or fatphobic.
The way tiktok and tumblr see nonbinary people is still within the binary. I'm not saying it's you, I'm talking generally. Nonbinary people are seen as "female-lite", mostly white, mostly skinny, mostly afab, mostly able bodied. Amab people aren't even taken into consideration, and if they rock a beard they are considered just cis-men. Pushing people into binding their boobs, cutting their hair, tucking their dicks, wearing make up or dresses, be as much androgynous as possible or else you are faking it ... It's pushing them into a gender binary.
Of course there is no right way to specifically identify as genderfluid but I would’ve been fine with the fact that he uses he/him pronouns and is masculine presented if something Was even mentioned about it. Instead we got a brief look of a paper that told us he was genderfluid and mentioning in the “female” Loki.
First of all, it's Disney. There's not gonna be good queer representation in Disney. Second thing... Yeah, no. I've seen way too many "there's no right way" followed up by "but the right way is my way". As a genderfluid person, I felt invalidated by this fandom and the constant push of "this should be the right way of being genderfluid", just like I felt invalidated by cis-het people who ask me what's in my pants.
it is nice that we got the confirmation that Loki is bisexual and Genderfluid. but being happy about that and wanting more can coexist. [...] I don’t want subtle hints, I want actual representation because I deserved that.
I understand, I also want more queer characters in general. The thing is... IT'S DISNEY AND MARVEL STUDIOS.
Look, I saw on your blog you are sixteen. I am twenty years older than you. When I was your age, there weren't many queer characters in media, most of them were gay guys and they were the butt of the joke. When I was your age, we got a total of like THREE characters that were queer and portrayed in a sort of good light: - Willow Rosenberg in Buffy the vampire slayer, who went from being a straight girl to falling in love with a woman and calling herself gay. Not even bisexual, just gay. - Jack McPhee in Dawson's creek, with a powerful coming out scene where his family disowned him. And later on, we got another character says a line like "everybody is a bit bisexual", which is biphobic. - There was a brief mention of bisexuality in Popular, where a couple of characters talked about maybe being bi and confused, but then resolved in just being confused.
The rest of the queer characters on screen were stereotypes, effeminate gay guys, jokes, filler character to fall into the backgrounds. And a shit lot of subtle hints of being queer but never confirmed. So, yeah, "a bit of both" is explicit, it's canon, it's there. And while it's not enough in this day and age, it's a huge step when it comes from Disney. So fucking huge I fucking cried when it happened.
You want a good queer representation of Loki? Ragnarok, on Netflix. It's a Norwegian tv show and it's overall good.
The same Netflix that, by the way, gave us seven season of Orange is the new black, where the protagonist is clearly bisexual, but she's constantly called gay or confused or straight by the entire cast. They said the word "bisexual" in the middle of the last episodes of the seventh season, and it's quickly followed by a joke on how bisexual are unfaithful.
"We don't say the B word" is a meme in itself in the bisexual community, therefore I am not looking for representation FROM THE MICKEY MOUSE COMPANY. They are not gonna give us shit. They're gonna put a rainbow in June, give as a pat in the back, and then wink at the homophobes and say "we like gay people, as long as they do it in private".
Also I don’t really care about the politics of Marvel and Disney and homophobic families. They already make enough from other movies, they could’ve afforded giving Loki the rep he deserved.
If you don't look at the context, that's on you.
Also this might blow your mind but I’m not just looking queer rep in marvel, I’m in many other fandoms where they ACTUALLY do queer rep right.
Yeah, you are. You dig a post eight months old to complain about it.
I just wanted to see it in one of my favourite characters where he was actually changing his gender often in the comics.
The Marvel comics are more free to put queer characters. And by the way: you are always genderfluid, your gender IS genderfluid, you don't go from cis to trans, your gender doesn't change. When you say "change gender" you only mean appearance. The binary appearance. And sadly, shape shifting doesn't exist in the real world.
Maybe you should blame Marvel for what you see the in the fandom and maybe you should accuse Marvel instead of people who just want to see well done queer representation.
I blame Marvel and Disney for being coward who don't care about growing and become better or being up-to-date. I blame fandom for being so stupid and naive to look for queer representation from a capitalist company. And I blame fandom for keeping up the biphobia, the transphobia, the misogyny because of a ship war.
also if you reply to this I would not be replying back because I don’t have time for people who settle for less
As If I care.
The biphobia in the Loki fandom is astonishing. Every day I have to block multiple people because of it.
Under the read more cut there are just a few examples of biphobia. If you find the original posts, don't send them hate. Just block them.
