I saw your post about songs that fuck with your brain chemistry -- any recommendations...? 👀
Yes ill always recommend hindi and bangla songs 💥💥💥
Hindi —
literally anything by r.d. burman honestly, but i remember the main ones i absolutely loved when i was smaller (i had awesome taste in music. Trust) — kya hua tera vada, gulabi akhen (please please listen to this one please pleas eplease), tere bina zindagi se (this is meh but like. i was obsessed with it so.), chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko (also please please please listen to this i love this so much forveee), meri bheegi bheegi si, dilbar mere
I'm not sure if these are by rd burman as well but FUCK these are so good 💥💥💥 — salame-ishq meri jaan, o saathi re (i prefer asha's ver, but kishore kumar is awesome too), khaike paan banaras wala, pal pal dil ke pas (my brother liked this more than me), yeh dosti, dum maro dum, phulo ka taro, pairody song (specifically look up mr india pairody song literal banger im telling you), hawa hawaii
Another paragraph break so it's easy for me — yeh mera dil yaar ka diwana, beqarar karke hamen yun na jaiye, mehbooba mehbooba (there's a new one but the SUCKS . Trust . Meh booba sholay, also by rd burman), bach ke rehna re baba, jhoomka gira re (theres a new version called kya jhumka and that sucks okay), kiki ki muskurahaton pe, jaane woh jaise log the, aa chal ke tujhe mei leke chalu
comparatively more recent — ik bagal, ranaji, azadi (im pretty sure there are many songs with this name, so specifically azadi gully boy 👍👍), namak, beedi, panga, mehboob mere, ghoomar, pinga, train song (also from gully boy), kab se kab tak, jahaan to chala, chikni chameli (this changed lives . Trust), nagada sang dhol baje, zoobi doobi
Also ANYTHING gulzar wrote, FUCKING banger
Bangla —
ANYTHING MANNA DEY SANG . ALSO SUMAN . Um i always thought it was suman chaterjee but apparently it's suman chattopadhyay . but also i have favourites so :))) — se amar choto bon, coffee houser sei addata aaj aar nei, hoyto tomari janya (most of these are my brother's recs because i listen to bangla songs less than he does), ghurche chaka, amader jonyo, pagol, haal chherona bondhu, petkati chandiyal, bose aanko
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ sent by my brother
ALSO EVERYTHING BY TAGORE . RABINDRANATH TAGORE . SO AWESOME — jodi tor daak shune keo na ashe (also called ekla cholo re), ami banglay gaan gai, hridmajhare rakhbo, fagunero mohonay, neel digante oi phuler agun, gram chara oi ranga matir poth, ore bhai phagun legeche bone bone, amra shobai raja, projapoti projapoti (this is a children's song but it's good and you will listen to it.), phagun hawaye hawaye,
not rabindrasangeet (what we call tagore's songs) — gouri elo dekhe jalo, majhi tor radio nai, not bengali (it's assamese) but SUCH a banger — kapili kapili
I have more songs but i forgor

can i request an akito fic where reader is a new member and quite shy so she dosent interact much? so akito would think they’re useless ? but they actually have a really soft voice and cute personality >.<
꧁“𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐛𝐢𝐞”꧂
Akito shinonome x shy!gn! Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✮A/N: HIHI so sorry i took long to finish your request😭 im very inactive on all my platforms cause im focusing on my life rn and exams are coming up, nevertheless hope you enjoy<33
✮Synopsis: you, a shy new member, impress akito with the song you made!
✮Contains: slight ooc?, Not proofread, akito here is slightly judgmental?
Tumblr media
Akito wasnt... That fond of you,not that he hated you or anything, he wasnt.. used to you, you could tell, when he made music, he'd give you the most simplest lines, or the shortest.. not that youre complaining, you just wanted more!
nevertheless, the group would still care and try to make you feel at home, they would call you by your first name or a nickname, tell some jokes, tease you, and anything as long as you feel happy around them
all changed until you decided to make music, all on your own, ofcourse with the help of friends but it was mostly you! And after weeks of making, you wanted to let the group have a listen!
the group was astonished when they heard the beat.. it was strong and intense, they were surprised when you were the one making the beats and tunes, you were so shy that its unlikely of someone to make music as intense as this
"y-you made this..? Oh wow! I wouldnt have expected that you could make songs like this.." Kohane smiled, An happily listened, while Toya and akito listened close
"This could work for this new gig... I remember Kotaro saying that the people who were attending had hardcore-ish vibes.. not that i know what he meant" Toya spoke up, an and kohane nodded in agreement. "This sounds.. pleasant.. right, lets use this.." he says, now looking at you.
weeks passed and you were finally able to make the lyrics with the help of Kohane, now was to split the lyrics
"hm.. y/n, can you try singing this part? Im confused if you or Kohane should sing this.." an asked, looking awkward.. "oh, nono, y/n can take this part.. they made the music, ofcourse they should have more lines" she says playfully, making you giggle
"hm.. okay" An nodded, now looking at you, she gave you a small nod, indicating that you could start singing... Honestly, the way an and akito practices feels like having to audition to be in an idol band..
you cleared your throat and started singing, that when Akito finally took you seriously, he puts his things down and listened.. you voice was.. adorable.. soothing..nice? He couldnt tell, after all, your voice is amazing and that he had a hard time describing it, once you were finished, all of them gave you a big round of applause, including akito, which made you feel.. fuzzy after all, it wasnt always that he'd cheer for you.
Once the sun was setting, the environment got darker, kohane left first, then toya, then an, it was just you and akito both..
Before you could keave, akito stopped you, grabbing you lightly by the shoulder. "Hey.. uh.. just wanted to say that.. your voice sounds nice.. please, keep up the good work y/n" he gave you a genuine smile, you nodded to reply "o-ofcourse.! I'll keep practicing til i physically cant!" You blurted out "oh? Haha, please dont.." he replied, sounding concerened, but quickly hiding it. "Wanna walk home with me? My House isnt that far from here" he asked you nodded and followed him through the exit. "Sure, i'd love too..!"

Hi, i hope that you're doing well!
I'm here for the free card pull.
My initials are D.B
I find music beautiful, in fact my question is related to music. I really like deep emo music. Something that speaks to the soul, i dont have to understand the lyrics but the way they sing so passionately and those instruments hits like crazy.
Question - I would like to ask the importance of music in my life.
Thank you 😁
Hello DB!
Solar Eclipse
Two of cups
Page of wands
With solar eclipse in past I feel as if whether your consciously doing it or not music might have been a way for your spirits to channel to you in especially daunting times. They are saying that this was to comfort you, and help you place chess pieces you didn’t know you were playing down. Music can be a powerful tool of manifestation and with two of cups in the present position I see a very romantic air to your life as if you’ve made a sort of soundtrack for your existence. They feel specially curated, and I’m feeling very main character energy which is a good thing, especially with page of wands coming up. In my deck the person is wielding an instrument and if I’m remembering correctly page of wands is about honing skill and mastering it, music in your life can be used as a tool . Especially if you’re practicing magick.
The more you learn to use music in your practice, whether that be connecting songs to certain aspects of your life or what you want out of it, or practicing weaving when listening to certain songs that make you feel especially powerful. I’m getting the vibe you find songs and feel eerily like it’s made for you. Because In a way, it is made for you to find in that exact moment, listen to that gut instinct . Connect to it.
Music is all about expression so don’t forget to have fun!
The song I channeled makes me think that even while listening to emo the music you listen to invokes a lot of joy for you! We have a fun tune with some dark lyrics. “If you died I’d die right by your side!” Learn to embrace that and don’t be afraid to move your hands around and feel the energy vibrating from the sound waves!

i love you so fucking much like a 3-4/10 : just doesnt read as a glass animals album its like yeah if you gave this from a generic soft pop band yeah bam like a fucking 7 or some shit but this is HTBAHB Glass Animals. ZABA DUDE DO NOT FORGET ZABA!!!
painfully generic? Too poppy this time in an uninteresting way. personally i see no complete cohesive idea/theme/vibe tying everything together (yeah i know love and heartache but it does not show through with the track cohesion)the songs are so disjointed its genuinely a detriment. (filler tracks exist for a reason dumbshits)
-show pony: do dont like the chorus, too sharp? the audio is sharp and does not sound too nice, the sharp guitar though is acceptable, rhyming is ... interesting, leaves the song droning over and over, trying to drill the chorus in your head. i dont understand what its trying to set up. guitar compression is probably the best thing
-whathehellishappening : mild whiplash transition between songs but i get it,its kinda funny, again pretty unassuming each bridge/verse sounds too similar to differentiate them, again plain and unobtrusive, catchy chorus hmmm i wonder why, ends funny but i wont get why you wouldnt lead into a break track
-creatures in heaven : a little more interesting pacing wise, more personable, snappy?, again chorus is pretty prominent to a more notable amount, interest break with the space elements, wait why are there space elements, is this supposed to bright the dichotomy of heaven and earth
-wonderful nothing : start with the title oh fun, wait why are all of these songs starting with their title,i like the vocals more becuase they dont force themselves into higher notes where you can hear the strain, the beginning into the main song is funky and probably the best beat tbh,idk bdsm kink shit i like, nice layering i enjoy as the song goes but couldve been shortened, repeats a bit too much.
-a tear in space : To be honest i was so excited by this beginning riff that i wanted Wonderful Nothing to somehow lead into, these songs are so disjointed it feels like im being shoved around with no direction with how to process what im being told, rhyme dog with floor, look man i like it because of the constant variety of vocal style, BUT dude the auto tune fucking sucks and is really jarring, again catchy chorus lyrics cmon guys an album ISNT supposed to be 10 signles lumped together you NEED glue the velcro or at least something, i really like the violin/synth i just really like how light it is
i cant make you fall in love again : guitars fine WAIT THE TITLE AGAIN? jeeeeeez dudes, jumps in pretty fast with trying to hook in the chorus, does he always sing with the chorus staying at the same note. really unobtrusive lyrics wise, i enjoy his sultrier voice but at least he doesnt try to strain himself too bad but its noticable again, bland
how i learned to love the bomb : THIS IS SEX BOMBOMB AND W- sorry, this one and the previous track blend together with the droning beats and singing. the chorus is nice with this one, i like the guitar but i swear i will not remember what makes these two different. at least its not saying its title every three seconds. reminds me of that 2016 era of popi just see nothing interesting in here
-white roses : TITLE STARTS WOOOOO, it just STARTS but not excitingly! Repeating repeating repeat the drill is here and its staying!!!! Space again, wait what why? who knows. just doesnt keep my attention with the lyrics or vocal inflections(except the auto tune which makes me physically recoil like where did this come from), chorus is fine, reapeating repeating repeating and CATCHY!!! COME ON GUYS LISTEN TO THE RA DIO,
-on the run : beginning is actually interesting, i like the weird vocal beat pretty funky at least for this album, i like how he sings this beginning BUT the chorus makes me want to scream, how does this TRANSITION SO BAD? again DRONING BORING, rest of the song is okay? the chorus is the worst part and is jarring and detrimental, kinda like how the autotune in any other part of the album is. unobtrusive and radio material....hm....
lost in the ocean : i like the low key ukelele and singing, chorus is again pretty stripped but he just has more interesting inflections that lead the song forward. LOVE the background singing! the gradual growth of the song lends itself to something that BARELY resembles a glass animals songs, yes a slow and mournful one but its there. the hearts still there. Its just....still a little too obvious on the hey im a single yeah! swaying in the kitchen song, very simple and doowoppy. Cute! Bad ending to an album
Ranking : lost in the ocean 6/10 a tear in space 5/10 creature in heaven 5/10 wonderful nothings 5/10 -frankly i dont care how the rest fall. i wont listen to them willingly ever again-
OVERALL : dissapointing! Go listen to Dreamland (i think its a way better album than this. Get over ur hate boner on Heat Waves) or better yet! ZABA or HTBAHB!!!

@thoughtfullyrainynightmare tagged meee for posting ten songs on shuffle from a playlist! I dont have spotify, tho, so I've shuffled my Likes list on Youtube Music! And it is a LONG LIST. With a LOT of different songs. I feel like I'm about to embarrass myself.
1. Blue Rose, by Somo
I did think this would be a good song for Yami and Charlotte. Of course, because of the title and a line "wishing on a four leaf clover". I like the soft beat it has and use this for some of my softer moments i want to write or draw.
2. What lovers do, by Maroon 5
This is from waaaay down on the playlist i dont remember any significance it may have held for me or my ships XD i think it was one of those songs I tend to brainrot to or just play, as with my ADHD I'm always thinking all the time about things and music tends to help me focus.
3. Mgno, by Russell Dickerson
This is one of my feel-good songs. One you play to just get the good vibes and energetic feel to your day! Brings to mind dancing people, bouncing, running, and just having a good time!
4. Mikazuki, by Sayuri
I don't exactly remember why I've had this song? The beat sounds nice, and I can imagine some nice scenes to it. But it must have been way down on the list because I really cant remember much. I must have likes it just for the beat.
5. Choice Scarf, by Signal
This is another song that's a bouncy feel-good tune. These are probably some of my favorites. I have quite a few with this similar theme with the vibrating beats and not many lyrics.
6. September-San, by Radwimps
This link isn't the original song but a cover version I liked more. It's softer and more "cute" sounding with the two girls singing. It is Japanese because I'm a huge nerd. I really like a lot of Radwimps music too, they have made things for a lot of Anime Movies you've maybe seen, one of their more well-known ones being "weathering with you."
7. Used To, by Damper (damperghost)
I really like future bass (‘-‘*) its a music genre I find a lot of music i enjoy. I use it for a lot of things like writing, drawing or just playing casually in the BG
8. Nonsense speaker, by Nekobolo
This is a song I have held onto for a long time, and the lyrics may be triggering for people, so PLEASE LISTEN WITH CAUTION. Heavy themes of depression and more. This is a cover by Lollia and is an english translation. It has similar themes to a song called "rolling girl" which some people may know, i know it was kind of famous in some circles. I use this song as a kind of "theme" (one of many) for my Bleach Oc Sakurana, who did not have a happy and loving upbringing, and it affected through her whole life.
9. Karano Kokoro, by Anly
This song is one of the two I've picked to be an ending theme for Silver Season if it was animated. And would specifically display images of Briar and what her life was like before everything had gone bad; so playing with her sisters when they were little, visiting The Lorelai when she had the chance, and seeing the other fairies and who they were before things took a turn for the worst. There is a short English cover by Liz Robinett if you really wanna appreciate the lyrics and how they play in who Briar is and her development with Nozel.
10. Beautiful, by Treasure
And of COURSE OF ONE MY FAVORITE BLACK CLOVER SONG'S HAD TO MAKE AN APPERANCE. This is one of the ending themes for Black Clovers anime, the 13th one, to be specific. Listening to it play while watching the ending or an AMV someone made to it easily makes me emotional. I am a huge simp and can be brought to tears with this song and Everlasting Shine by Tomorrow X Together. If you haven't seen either, please click the links. The animation is so nice.
Anyone else is free to share their own music shuffle adventures! I wont be tagging anyone since i see everyone else already has been, have fun and thanks for listening!

5. Who is your favorite K-Pop rapper, and why?
jungkook just kidding. it used to be yoongi but I think its hoseok now. why well hes got the nicest voice and best verses, as for solo albums I like them. lyrically maybe I prefer namjoon or even yoongi but thats only one aspect, d-day was kind of a disappointment for me meanwhile jung hoseok has never not served in his life. and like as a rapper, I just love his style, hes so special. also I know it seems like im mixing up kpop and bts but im not. but fine ill choose a non bangtan rapper too.. lisa just kidding. maybe dreamcatcher dami? or soyeon
8. What's your favorite K-Pop fashion trend?
idk how to answer to this question but whatever le sserafim has going on. sorry... ummm y2k a la newjeans, XG? I know nothing but I rlly like the aesthetic of XG left right and shooting star mvs. um. .-.
10. What's your favorite K-Pop choreography, and why?
most recently unforgiven le sserafim, before that ditto new jeans and antifragile le sserafim. I dont know why
EDIT I just remembered how obsessed I was (am) with set me free pt.2 jimin choreography, it's actually an all time favorite. and bangtan ON and black swan .
EDIT 2 actually all of these that ive mentioned are choreos ive learnt to different degrees and at different times (full choreos for the three first I mentioned but only chorus (and post chorus for smf pt.2 although that part was so fast that I didnt really learn it in full speed).
I think the first three I mentioned are my faves bc they are so satisfying. kind of groovy?? im so sad that I dont have the terminology to talk about this properly.. I would really like to. but unforgiven and antifragile are kinda the same vibe, antifragile choreo really fits the afro-latin/reggae genre of the song and unforgiven im not sure what the genre is but I feel like its similar, or like idk cowboy/western vibes... I just like the elements of both dances, but I dont know the names of them.
ditto I love so much... the schoolgirl upbeat dance, but with the slow tune in the background, the fast and slower elements, the dreamy vibe... clearly I dont have a lot of knowledge on dance or music I would love to learn more, im trying to, but im sorta realizing talking about things like this makes me happy so I will continue to do it but I know I am not knowledgeable at all
black swan I like because it is beautiful and heightens the song, I feel like there are elements of contemporary dance in it? and ballet. which is very fitting to the song and lyrics, and pretty and artful. ON I like because it is so powerful I guess. they have other powerful stages it's just that these were among the first one I watched, but I also feel like its a bit different from their earlier stages. the drums and the explosive chorus part. I hate when you listen to a song and it EXPLODES and then you look at the chorus and theyre barely doing anything just waving a hand or a tiny jump like no! they kinda fail at this in the last chorus because they just walk but they are forgiven because they explode with the song before that. also the dance break.

Track of the Day!
Band: Treewax
Track: They Don’t Care
From the Album: Only Yesterday
Genre/s: Alternative Rock; Pop-Punk; Indie-Rock; Neo-Grunge
Country of Origin: Portugal
Released: 2023
A richly complex, yet melody-driven guitar riff kicks off this tune, reminiscent of the guitar-tone from the ‘Bandwagonesque’ era of Scottish Indie legends, Teenage Fanclub. The hanging mood though, is like a distant cousin of the more desolate corners of the ‘Let Me Come Over’ period of American Alternative Rock band, Buffalo Tom.
In a swirl of distortion feedback and flange, the tune kicks in proper, with a bombardment of elements. First, the bass, crunchy and annunciated, Punk-like but rocked-up…think again Alternative Rock: 80s Dinosaur Jr. crossed with Early 90s The Breeders with even a hint of Hardcore Punk; I immediately thought of DC Straight Edgers, Minor Threat and even a twist of Californian Art-Punks, Minutemen. Vocals are clear, dominant in the mix, but not enough to disservice the instrumentation. I could imagine this tune on the soundtrack of an early View Askewniverse movie, such as Clerks or Mallrats, rubbing shoulders with tracks by bands like Seaweed or Weezer. There’s a pure, down-to-earth integrity both lyrically and in the emotional delivery of these. By taking this approach, a listener can identify completely with what the vocalist is conveying. Vocals and guitar meshing and harmonising together to create a nice little hook is employed perfectly here…an approach often used in the Seattle Grunge Scene, from Kurt Cobain of Nirvana to Chris Cornell of Soundgarden.
The vocals then transform harmonically, into a more 50s Rockabilly-inspired approach, with an echoing or repeat of the main vocal. This was often seen in the 90s with Power-Pop Alt-Rock bands such as Fountains of Wayne or The Lemonheads. Treewax eschew any ambiguity in their lyrics and are unpretentious in their content, tapping into raw emotions and train of thought/stream of consciousness inspired words rather than something more flowery or poetic…think Husker Du and The Wedding Present.
The backing harmonies become subtly raw-edged, building tension and emotion in an understated Rock-way…I immediately thought of Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and the vocal techniques he uses.
A breakdown/progression into a xylophone and flute (possibly Melotron) guided middle eight creates a Led Zep IV meets Mercury Rev vibe, before vocals leap between a soft Thom Yorke of Radiohead patter, a tortured Layne Staley of Alice in Chains yarl and a Chris Cornell-esque scream.
The vocals give way to a guitar solo that is short, sweet and understated, it warbles out of Rock expectations from a robust Kings of Leon guitar-line to a more unhinged bluesy Mudhoney Grungy solo.
The vocals guide the crunchy bass, fuzzy and fizzy guitars & walloping drums to a bang of an ending.

ok its very long so. under the cut (i will mark when its from my friend)
Me: im listening to the soundtrack to the movie musical mean girls why does it feel like pop /neg its. bland
Its not fun i don't like it
my is meet the plastics just regina george
YOUR NOT MEETING THE PLASTICS????
just Regina
the pop-ification of musicals is horrible this is. joy less??? like
What is wrong with Apex predator. like. the singers are really talented its just. not fun
it feels like its trying to be a disney villain song. but pop.
i think theres a lot of auto tune
Sexy is. alright just feels. off?
the dance break. does not fit
it, doesnt have the fun vibes the og has the movie has a more, pop? feel like its definitely purposeful tbh i hate the tiktokiftication
the build up to the "until someone gets hurt" feels, not powerful enough?
Like. until someone gets hurt is very much of a villain song
its just. Not. powerful? like the songs dont have the punch the ogs have the yes bitch feel like a "OH WE CAN SWEAR. Lets put bitch in there" like. swear words in musical numbers have to be put in there for a reason not "WE CAN SWEAR"
Friend: theres this one song that they turned from like. full energy and anger and everything to like. the singer sounds Bored almost and i keep hearing comparisons and im going insane like i retuse to watch it just because ,,, absolutely not ,,, PUT THE EMOTION BACK WHAT HAVEW YOU DOEN
Me: stupid with love thats the one
Friend: no theres another one
Me: Which ruins the point of the song?
Friend: theres that and then theres another
its uuuh
hang on ill google the lyrics
Me: Like she’s extremely in love and she’s overwhelmed with love
Friend: Revenge party
Me: REVENGE PARTY SUCKS
Friend: ive heard the stupid with love comparison but revenge party feels
Worse somehow ???
like??? what did they do.
Me: It doesnt have the like. the fun?
Friend: doesnt have the fun doesnt have the emotion doesnt have the energy doesnt have even the bit of anger in some parts
Me: the most important with musical songs is that its fun to listen to in some aspect
like Be Prepared from the og lion king is fun
Friend: see i know what the issue is
Me: while the remakes one is like. boring
Friend: they hired Movie actors and not Musical actors
Me: Yeah.
they only have one and its like.
Friend: because i guess they didnt realise there was a difference ??? but there is Such a difference
Me: musical movies need musical actors
Friend: exactly !!!
Me: theres such a difference
Friend: movie actors just cant give the songs that same Hit know
Me: like when you can tell the difference between movie actor singing and musical actor singing its so obvious
its why many jukebox musicals like trolls have mainly singers.
while movie actors would work singers are better
Friend: the trolls songs are soo fucking good and its specifically because theres people who are Trained to sing singing them „ not just people trained to Act
Me: like. movie actors are great but. they don't have the same punch as musical actors
Friend: gtg dinner ,, hope they put more emotion in tha songs fr
Me: see ya
Rather Be Me. It has the right idea. but doesnt pull it off like the og one its clearly better then the others but its still. meh?
like with musical numbers the singing is important, but as well are the instrumentals.
Like, sure i can remember the lines in be prepared are good, but the instrumentals help pack the feeling
like. it has the same problem as the songs from Wish
to tocused on marketing and being number one hits and not being, a good musical number
i see stars is meant to be an incredibly empowering song for Katy, especially when she says "here, take it"
but instead it feels like a gift she doesnt want
like im going to listen to the og one after but theres a huge difference even without listening to the ogs
As well many songs from the brodway are just. missing
like Stop. sure it had no real point. But its important to have those kind of songs sometimes
like the og cautionary tale builds up while the movie just, gets into it
like. the songs from the og have so much more energy in them
makes you feel, pumped? or at least their very fun
while the movies are just. boring
does anyone want my thoughts i had while listening to the soundtrack to the mean girls musical movie (+ some from a friend)?

im so mad there was this song that i once listened to like 40 times in repeat on YouTube and I dont remember anything about its name or who made it besides it had "horizon" in it and it MAY have been a BMTH song but i couldnt find it anywhere in their arsenal and it was like 7 minutes long and the music video was like a surrealist hyper-realistic post-civilization animation in some concrete ruins and there were leaves and a marble statue of a person and I hardly remember anything about it I dont remember the lyrics or the tune but the sheer VIBES of it have been stuck in my head for Weeks and I cannot manage to find it

HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYY BULLETS <33
I seriously love this album to the moon and back. The grittiness and darkness that surround it- it’s rough and dirty and hardcore. It is my chem, and imo some of their best songs are off of this album. Every song has it’s own unique flair that makes it sound different from every other individual song but still blends with the album.
Romance - this is such a great intro. The fingerpicking is fast paced and intricate- it gives a mysterious flair to the beginning, like your about to watch an old horror flick. The static and buzz of the device it’s supposedly coming out of only adds to that almost cryptic feel and sets the perfect stage for doom.
Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough for the Two Of Us - jumping straight in to a hardcore, jumping guitar sound. It isn’t the most hardcore song off the album but I think it is the perfect transitional introduction for the violet sound of this album. The screams, the mellow bits; everything about this song (including the lyrics) is so ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹.
Vampires Will Never Hurt You - This has gotta be one of the most pivotal songs off the album. I mean cmon,, vampires. The YELLING. The SCREAMS. It is so scratchy and brutal; truly the perfect homage to the storytelling that mcr becomes known for.
Drowning Lessons - once again, a banger. The unique guitar, the lyricism. It’s all too good. And the storytelling? This is the song that really hits home for the true lore of the demolition lovers (as many such as myself suspect). The repetition in this song is such a strong factor here as it is in this album. It really displays just how unhinged it makes the songs off of bullets out to be
Our Lady Of Sorrows - imo, this is one of the best songs. The intro is TOO GOOD to beat. AND THE CHORUS?? Best chorus off of bullets. It is such a good fucking mosh song. All high energy. And the ending? JUST. BE- CAUSE. MY. HANDS. A-ROUND. YOUR. THROAT. It is so fucking good (and i love these little parts of my chem songs because gee usually mixes them up livee)
Headfirst for Halos - again, SUCH A GOOD INTRO. The vibe of this intro alone just feels like this emotional almost defeat?, either way there was definitely thought behind the actual creation of the tune for the intro because i coud talk about it for AGES. This song also has some of my favorite lyricism ever. Again, with the repetition at the end and the message behind the song? True art.
Skylines and Turnstiles - the notorious first song gee ever wrote. And a BANGER at that. You can really feel the raw emotion conveyed in the lyrics and again with the fast downstrokes of the guitar it just is so fucking powerful. The message behind the song is really something you can see carry through the band- which makes this song such a pivotal point in their career. I could talk about how important this song is for agesss ahhehdisneifh
Early Sunsets Over Monroeville - This. Fucking. Song. This song is my favorite goddamn song off of bullets. It is—- AHHHHEVDIWBE. It’s unlike anything off of the album and it’s definitely unlike anything they do in the future. This song is raw. The textbook definition of raw. Like catch salmonella raw. The pure emotion in this song that gee rips out is breathtaking. I think of that one-i think it was an interview- where someone (i forgot who it was) was talking about being in the studio when gerard was recording and just how witnessing- especially the end- was so impactful and powerful. I think they might’ve talked about it on lotms?? I dont really remember,, but regardless— the interviewee talked about how gerard was just told to kind of improvise and make it up on the spot and everyone just kinda watched and listened as he pulled out this piece of himself and displayed such raw emotion. It really hit everyone in a deep place and I specifically remember them talking about how everyone needed to step out of the studio for like a smoke break or just some time alone because they all saw such a broken off part of gee in there and it really hit them. That just goes to show how powerful this song really is. As for the music? I’m pretty sure this was one of the songs that frank actually got to contribute too, and was one of the songs that really made him a part of the band. It is such a pivotal song and such a powerful one at that. I love this goddamn song so much. It is too fucking good.
This Is the Best Day Ever - The story behind this song really digs into me,, or rather the inspiration does. You can really hear the almost cry for help that it is, with an almost anxious? tune. Really good song.
Cubicles - This is a unique ass song. Very punk. Very much love it. The commentary it brings and the sort of role and meaning it’s played in the lives of the band. The end is really where I find a true love for this song. The repetition <33. Love the repetition, especially because this is exactly the type of song where you’d expect a spiral. Perfect.
Demolition Lovers - This is the song. THE song. Of the bullets album. It’s slower in the beginning, like early sunsets, but this is the song of the lore. Of the story. The division of the song, the way they’ve broken it up into the highs and lows, the lyrics and music. It is such a good song. I feel like a broken record saying it but what else is there to say? It is so goddamn good, and to end off such a killer album with a sendoff song like that is kJWVEIBEIWBROSNE. Its so good its almost torture. The lyrics here are some of my favorites— with the ‘all we are are bullets, i mean this’ part being the gold medal winner for me. The storytelling is the result of some intensely creative minds and such talented artists.
This album deserves the goddamn world. It’s rare you find a band where everything they’ve created since the beginning is top tier. That’s what makes MCR such a special band, to me and so many others. I can see why MCR is franks favorite band because, shit it’s mine too. Happy 20th Bullets ❤️‍🩹.

Electronic Music Recommendations: First Impressions 1/?
This is a self-indulgent post! Whatever! I’m primarily going to search for these artists and songs through Youtube so if I’m missing some obvious stuff, just let me know. By the way, these are just my opinions and first impressions of these artists. So If i listen to your least favorite song or I’m not into whatever you recommend and it makes u upset, dont worry about it. It’s just music. I listen to some absolute horrid shit sometimes. Just really god awful music. Anyways.
1. @catboy-beb0p recommended CaseJackal/Hiimcase First thing that caught my eye was their lyricism. Once I found a song that really caught my eye, i was really impressed by the way they string lyrics together in a way that’s really, really satisfying. In their most recent album, Systemic Suburbanite, you can really see how much they seem to care about their music and want to improve. Their overall sound quality could still use some work, as some songs feel like there are some instruments missing and thus don’t hit as hard as they could. But! One particular song that won me over was “YOU ARE SO BAD” and “ETERNAL” from Systemic Suburbanite. I have been the SOLE VIEWS of these song on Youtube. And theyre really good! I love when they rap and I love their voice and I find their words extremely relatable. I can see them blowing up if the right person were to boost them. Let them know that the Plaguecore community can take them lmao. I’ll be coming back to finish this album. 2. @shazi-talks recommended their friend CatchinAshes Tell your friend to post their stuff on Youtube more! They only have one video of them doin’ their thing on Youtube 6 years ago and I cant hear exactly HOW good it can get cus its a live recording at a party and it sounded really awesome! But no worries, I found their SoundCloud. For some reason, one of the tracks that I really like by them is “Shift in Motion”. I like this elusive and unsettling nature of it combined with the hoppy rhythm. The falling sounds are also playful and add to this vibe. In kind of simplistic terms, it’s kind of giving me World Of Horror vibes but more dance-able? I notice that they dont create music (or share it) as often as they did 5-6 years ago unless there is somewhere else they post more often. I hope they keep going! 3. @transgenderpartydrugs recommended Gupi & Fraxiom (Foodhouse) Started with “Thos Moser”- what a fun start! I love the different directions it takes and it’s completely unapologetic with the auto tune, (although the very beginning brought me to a very bad place in 2008 but thats ok) LMAO. It’s also very reminiscent of that time but in a much more positive way. People don’t like to hear it but the late 2000s had good fucking electronic music, prove me wrong. Anyways. The music video is also hilarious. “Mos Thoser” fucks my ears in the way that I enjoy. I can see myself rushing graphic design homework to this, so I think i prefer this to the former for that reason. I’ll definitely need to be in a particular mood to enjoy their music overall, but I do enjoy and appreciate all the samples, synths and textures they offer. 4. @blueisagreatcolorforawitch recommended Fitz and The Tantrums
I decided to start with “Out of My League”. This is exactly the type of music I listened to all the time in my early highschool years (uploaded in 2013 so it makes sense) and It makes me feel extremely nostalgic for that. Makes me want to pretend like I can ride a longboard and try to pull off pull off bright colors and muscle tanks and beanies again. And I listened to “The Walker” and the top comment on Youtube made me chuckle out loud cus they got it absolutely spot-on. However, the song that I actually remember the most is “Moneygrabber”. I also feel that the lead singer’s voice actually fits really well with this style compared to some of their other bigger hits. I can see myself coming back to that song the most often. 5. @glittery-oubliette recommended Dorian Electra I have actually heard this name before among the younger LGBTQA+ zoomers on the ‘net. And to be honest, based on “My Agenda” and “Flamboyant”, and some of their other songs overall, their style doesn't super appeal to my current tastes. I probably would’ve been more into it if I were still 18-21. However, I really liked “Ram It Down” and “Adam and Steve”. Their vocals reminds me a lot of some recent Kerli for some reason (which for me is a relatively good thing). I wish i could be more specific about what parts doesn’t appeal to me, but I lack the musical knowledge and expertise to properly describe it. I do appreciate what they’re doing and find aspects of their flashy aesthetic charming- but again, not quite for me. And “Gentleman/My Lady” made me laugh out loud (and bangs hard near the end, which i love). I’d probably trust Dorian Electra fans with my life and I know of some friends that might not listen currently to them to be potential fans. 6. @plaguedocboi recommended Creature Feature
IDK if this really fits here but I dont care. This is another one I have heard of but haven’t taken the time to check out. I have some kind of aversion to finding musical artists online through word-of-mouth unless I specifically request it, as you can see. I started with “Buried Alive” because the thumbnail caught my attention and now I’m extremely pissed off because I would’ve loved this as a little emo/scene kid. I’ve always enjoyed Halloweeny music. I traveled the future to listen to “American Gothic” and then “Grim Grinning Ghosts” and i was delighted by it. I love the sound of their vocals. Their music also seems to fit the vibe of the current DND campaign I’m playing in super well (classic gothic faire) so I’ll definitely play them in the background of our sessions for now on. Funny how despite how campy and corny it can sometimes be, Halloween-themed music can be hella timeless. I will probably write and try listening to more music recommendations later or in the future but right now my ears and brain are starting to feel really fatigued. I really appreciate all of the recs and I love listening to new things, especially from people that I interact with/interact with me. 8^)

i’ve been aching to commentate spirit phone’s commentary for ages. glad i finally got around to it, this was an ejoyable experience. liveblog below the cut
-i'm like half certain i've heard this commentary before. maybe not the whole way through & it was probably actual years ago
-nice hearing stuff like this. in-depth personal view of the album-making process. makes it seem like more of a real thing i could do myself someday
-neil cicierega real person momence
-i could probably go real in depth about neil cicierega/tally hall parallels specifically concerning like. the arc of their musical careers. but i won't, here
-wild how i legitimately don't care much about micheal jackson
-didnt we get a bunch of spirit phone stems from the needlejuice release/his patreon? we could probably hear the funny track he speaks of here in that
-i love hearing musical artists, especially neil cicierega, talking about the meanings of their songs. like, not only has this song been claimed to hell & back by the tumblr gays, but with later ones i just can't see where he gets these ideas from. also, claiming there's any one meaning or plot to a song just seems silly to me
-shoutout to neil reusing a midi from like, 1998, that he made at 12 years old, whose entire melody was reused for the main verses of everybody loves raymond. loved finding that out on my own 2 years ago. now it's common trivia in this fandom. not bad times
-it'd be neat if neil did individual trans tracks here like he did with view monstel, those things are half of why i consider it my favorite album
-it's a lot easier to ignore the creator's intended meaning behind a song when he can't even remember it. thanks neil
-seesaw effect
-and there's my joke all but 1 of my followers wont get. moving on
-what kinds of movie theater lobbies has neil been to where there are arcade machines. i mean im not one to talk but that does sound rather strange
-why do songs' titles even need to be taken from the lyrics. ive never seen that as any sort of requisite. it's like titling any form of prose you can just give it whatever name ya like
-"this part sounds pretty cool right"
-is neil's vocal range only mildly better than mine? with training i could change that
-oh i haven't processed any of the last 25 seconds hold on
-god. a shit ton of vocal modification in this song. it's like neil returned to his roots but with quality this time
-i, as an ace/aro, have never related more to an allohet guy in my life. what is the point of eyes!
-professional humming/whistling takes skill. it's different from the recreational or casual stuff. i'd know
-there's a name for the way sound (especially music) gets distorted when moving past you and i can't remember it but it's probably what neil's referring to here in the way he recorded the intro
(- update: it's the doppler effect no need to tell me cas already did)
-as someone who hasnt seen the rugrats or take me there by blackstreet i'll just say it sounded like a bouncy music box melody. nice to hear a song that messes with the typical scales though. lydian & diatonic.
-that's a rather specific thing to be glad about, but given what he talked about in his last full audio commentary about the jew harp i suppose i'm not surprised
-i know that tmbg song now. listened to it & saw the music video too. yep they're different alright
-where the hell does neil get all these instrumence from anyway
-huh. hadnt heard this part of the commentary before making my oc concerning this song but i like to hear neil's approval concerning part of my interpretation
-i love how ive heard a billion different tellings of this mellified man story from lem dem fans talking about this song and neil's is by far the wildest
-good god that does only make it worse neil
-i love making liveblogs of lemon demon albums. with the fullerenes or tally hall i cant name a specific dude to take out my woes on generally but with lemon demon i can just say neil all the time. i like being on a casual first name basis with this dude ive never interacted with once ever
-is sweet bod the one other than cabinet man with a demo in the bonus tracks? i forget
-holy shit the boston molasses disaster someone call up soapy if it doesnt already know, it'd love this
-two thousand nine. god i miss the fiddle solo. the ver with it is truly the best one
-he pronounces it jeff? i've always read it as gef with a hard g. that's what i get for knowing words that are never spoken aloud
-that's a fun meta interpretation of this ghost story that's over a century old. i like that
-i've noticed neil generally does the same synths across a whole album. it's especially more clear in the earlier ones, and does mean i occasionally mix up songs between clown circus & live from the haunted candle shop
-ah! ancient aliens! my least favorite track on this album. i cant even claim to have the least interest in a popular one i've just generally not liked this one much from the beginning. so im curious to see what neil's got to say, i think ive been in ~new commentary zone for a while now
-anyway. newest update on the loolin not realizing a song's funky time signature front: i think this one's in 6/4. or at least switches a lot between time signatures. granted i dont listen to it very often for the reasons stated above
-see the way neil describes it. eldritch horror upon being visited by the unknown at a time when humanity'd hadn't even yet had a chance to imagine such a thing occurring. should be right up my alley. but the sound itself & many of the lyrics simply turn me away.
-must i specify i don't dislike it? spirit phone is neil's best album it not being my favorite doesn't mean i think it's bad yadda yadda nobody should be surprised by this it's not like anyone in these fandoms reads my liveblogs <3
-granted i think this is. the first bit of spirit phone content i've made on my blog ever. so who knows things can change <3
-the transitions in spirit phone are much less view-monster transition tracks & more extended outros. view-monster's were a bit more intro than outro sure but they also seemed directed upon making a 2-way rather than 1-way bridge between tracks. or something like that
-.............soft fuzzy man is an incredible nickname for a cat. i'd steal that if i werent afraid of introducing my relatives to lemon demon
-jirls
-an underlying metaphor is good enough. the literal side of the lyrics are fun. nothing but agreement here neil my good man
-the transition into as your father i expressly forbid it from soft fuzzy man is the best one in this album
-buddy you ask if a musical idea has been used before odds are the answer is yes in this day & age the question is has it been used in the way you're using it. like sure this soul jazz record from the 60s that was sold out in kansas stores for a week used this bassline that youve found yourself copying. but seeing as youre using it in some angsty garage rock ballad type tune does anybody actually care
-doesn't everybody like to say things in an unhinged manner from time to time
-imagine having a guitar dad, i say, with my dad being a folk accordion/fiddle dad, which is infinitely worse in every way
-i think he was in an actual folk band at some point. idk the 90s were weird
-iron my life?
-m-more intimate? there are a lot of ways i'd describe this song but intimate isn't one of them. granted as your father is negatively intimate so from there i guess you've got nowhere to go but up
-...still glad to see his interpretation kinda supports my oc at least
-the way he says characters in songs shouldn't worry about death really strongly makes me think this is some sort of. thematic continuation of stuck from dinosaurchestra, even if there's no real death in there. interesting. would also mean that the dad from these past 2 songs is named carlos betty (no last name)
-i literally never assumed this was a flute solo. piccolo at best. it's pretty clearly a recorder
-my mom plays the recorder. i wonder if she can play recorder better than neil cicierega
-we can throw a party in honor of the crushing weight of responsibility! i simply won't be the one throwing it because i have enough on my plate already <3
-what the hell does "a sense of intent" mean
-i've never heard rush before however i disagree with neil's understanding of 6/4. 6/4 is meant to have emphasis (onbeat or another term i can't remember) on the 1st & 4th beat of every measure, which is greatly different from a measure of 4/4 then a measure of 2/4. it's why his 5/4 always sounds weird, because while it's recognizable in sequences of 10/4, it's more 2 measures of 4/4 with one of 2/4 tacked on the end. that's also how it's different from 3/4. i don't know much music theory but what i do understand i will fight to the death about
-"canonized" that's. a very interesting term to use when referring to a former president
-from now on i will interpret every love song directed at some unseen "you" to be inviting me to marry them for tax purposes. thanks neil for being an aromantic icon
-ah hell yes hell yes man-made object is my favorite goddam song on this album
-short & sweet & good damn vibes. neil's thoughts on it all are only making it better
-wild how he uses very few vocal effects for a song that he clearly is straining his vocal range for. go off neil
-the qualifier of man-made is a wonderful thing. oldest or biggest thing? oldest or biggest man-made thing? what a incredibly important specification. a world of possibilities lie between the two. oh i love it
-just gets me thinking yknow! what we consider weird/impressive in another species, in our own species- what kind of equivalent to that would there be from an outsider looking in? are there alien versions of the significances we place upon things, that we could never imagine? the limits of the human imagination mean we could never conceive of something else in the world that isn't, in some way great or small, just like us- and are we wrong for thinking that? such a juicy topic i wish there were a name for it because it's kinda hard to explain concisely
-spiral of ants. my second favorite song from this album, in fact. a good one to experience
-the vocals are just another instrument. they really truly are. i wasn't going into this commentary expecting to feel solidarity for neil cicierega in this chili's tonight on more than one occasion but here i am.
-like, his whole stance on interpreting songs is something i agree with almost entirely. you can take it at face value, you can dig to their very depths, you can listen to songs without caring what the lyrics mean whatsoever, and those are all fun. & yeah while any of these people can be annoying as one of the types who enjoys gliding on the surface more than anything i find those who dedicate themselves to figuring out the whole meaning of a song over anything else to be both slightly scary & slightly annoying <3 keep up the good work
-i want to make songs for my siblings the way neil makes songs for his sibling(s)
-spinch
-neil really shouldn't be allowed to be this funny like this whole album youre thinking golly! he's just a normal man this neil cicierega! and then he starts listing the cat hacks jokes & you remember he's had ridiculously consistent viral success with all his humorous endeavors and holy shit it's neil cicierega in action talking about his music. god bless you neil
-you're welcome, no problem, my pleasure. good eveternoon, radio audience!

ok so im binging 3% because it’s a great Brazilian series and honestly you should watch it too, and there is this beautiful credit song (s04e05 credit scene) which i immediately want to add to my playlist on spotify and so i search for “3% ost” and “3% soundtrack” on spotify and google, but nothing sensible really shows up in the search and this is where my troubles begin. for the past hour i’ve been looking for this song and now i’m just too deep to stop, but im also tired...
the english cc captions i always use on netflix sometimes will give you the title of the song, and this is indeed the case here. however! they simply gave the wrong title. the song:
Tumblr media
is groovy and all, and bless the artist’s heart, but it is a remix which only samples the original song that i am looking for. great. i take a minute here to question netflix and their quality standard for captions, then decide i can not simply stop here, the song is good, i want to listen to it on loop until i can’t stand it anymore and nothing’s gonna stop me.
i figure im probably searching in the wrong language. i look up the word soundtrack in Portugese (trilha sonora according to google translate???) and look up spotify playlists “tres por cento trihla sonora”. success! there are many good fan made ones, it seems. so i dive in. the best part about this whole experience is that i realize that Brazilian music slaps my dudes. they always write come to Brazil, but tbh no please Brazil come to Europe. i will pay money for this. anyway, so i decide im gonna find the song by listening to excerpts of the songs on the playlists. although i come across many bops, i dont not recognize my beloved song. i did save the playlist though:
Tumblr media
ok so then i remember Portugese captions also exist. i search after the lyrics and finally - FINALLY - i have the song.
Último Desejo by Noel Rosa
i search it, play it and... it sounds like an old ass song and nothing like the one im looking for. ok it’s a cover. no worries. i go on spotify again and search for ultimo desejo
and of course - of course
Tumblr media
it’s one of those songs. the one that has hundreds of covers. and so i go through like the first 20. and man is it an experience. but i find it! i finally get the right fucking song:
Tumblr media
I say to myself, now finally you can listen to the whole song. and so i do. the beginning is as i remember it from the series. the scene right before credits is quite gloomy, and so the song has this nostalgic, sad vibe... except for when it transforms the mood completely into upbeat, dance song. im surprised, but i only remember the part they used in the series, which didnt (obviously) express the whole range of the song. in any case, it won me over in the end and landed in my favorites.
satisfied, i came back to the series and played it. the credits played again. and. well. you know what happened.
i got the wrong song. i listened to so many that i forgot how the original sounded like. back to the drawing board.
well, not really. im hella distracted all the time and instead of trying an app to find the tune, i decided to listen to all songs called Ultimo Desejo on spotify. and also look up the lyrics, their english meaning (it’s a love song i think?) and other Brazilian music. anyway, my dive into Ultimo Desejo was the real introduction to how varied and amazing Brazilian music can be. here are some of my personal favorites:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
although i must say, they get better after the wall of what seems to be the Portugese Witcher audiobooks:
Tumblr media
including but not limited to pearls such as these two:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway so after i got sucked out of the hyperfixation again, i ran the song through a tune search app and it had no matches, of course. so i used googles music search and that one disappointed me too. seems like the only way for me to enjoy this song will be rewatching the credits again and again. which you know, is not so bad. but if you are Brazilian and can help me and tell me what song they used, you will be saving my life and sanity. also, I love u.

you can tell a lot about someone by the type of music they listen to 🎵🎶
rules: hit shuffle on your media player and write down the first 20 songs, then tag 10 people. no skipping!
ta @clumsyclifford for tagging me despite knowing what shambles my music taste is honestly a brave woman <3 also before i start this off i want to say this playlist is 15 hours long and only has like 40 britpop songs on it so just in case spotify keeps spitting britpop out at me i want to put a disclaimer here
all i need - radiohead. this is a BANGER god maybe i would die for thom yorke...maybe i would
tomorrow’s money - my chemical romance. okay i know lots of people dont vibe w this song but it was actually my favourite mcr song for a while i think it SLAPS i love the ‘i stopped bleeding three years ago while you keep screaming for revolution’ bit
backseat serenade - all time low. i stand by this being one of their best songs simply for the ‘aren’t you sick of sleeping alone’ and the final ‘oh god i’m sick of sleeping alone’
song 2 - blur. i wont apologise for this its a fucking ANTHEM and that aside ‘i’m never sure why i need you’ is one of my favourite lyrics
lost in reality - 5sos. okay this is literally one of my top 3 5sos songs it fucking goes off so hard i dont care what anyone else says and yes the lyrics are shocking but its no just saying this song is almost on par w babylon and lwh for me
slide away - oasis. now this song slaps i have to say i love the way its played on definitely maybe very dirty and raw but noel did an acoustic version of it and i think i prefer that one although i prefer liams voice on it @ liam odds on a cheeky slide away acoustic?
take on me - a-ha. this song goes off theres nowt better to dance around the kitchen to w your housemates while you try to make a lasagne but forget the pasta layers and just end up doing bolognese-bechamel-bolognese-bechamel for like 4 layers
the carpal tunnel of love - fall out boy. i think i have almost the entirety of infinity on here bc its genuinely such a banging album top to bottom
durch den monsun - tokio hotel. HAAAAAA okay this song fucking goes off thats all i’ll say about it everything tokio hotel released up to humanoid was wall to wall bangers
that’s the truth - mcfly. the verses of this leave much to be desired but thats made up for by what a SEXY chorus it has danny jones you have my whole heart
rockafeller skank - fatboy slim. i will not apologise for this one it fucking goes off its on an advert right now and me and my housemates would sit watching the chase and scream this out when it came on during the ad breaks good memories
the boy who could fly - pierce the veil. i cant lie to you selfish machines is a fucking class album i always dither between that and cwts for best album but i think sm edges cwts out a little for me anyway ptv havent done anything worth listening to since 2012
