do u see my vision lol
#ive talked about it on twitter before but not here#i really don't like hisuian arcanine#especially as a choice for volo#and roserade is better-ISH but as it canonly looks#also not on the money#but while i've thought about replacing these two on his PLA team#i feel he should still have pokemon that appeared on cynthia's dppt teams#(another problem i have w hisuian arcanine)#milotic is not a volo pokemon to me and same w gastrodon#so ultimately i'd like to redesign what he already has#i've drawn arcanine to look more like the og but i still didnt like it#so we gotta go full stone lion dog w witchcraft fire spells#and roserade can be more like a bunch of thorny flowering vines that picks up old theatre masks in the celestican ruins#togekiss is already designed and the others i wouldnt change too much#other than making garchomp slightly more A10-like#and lucario a bit more monochrome to be more like an anubis#trying to get out of the most crushing art block ive had in a WHILE so hopefully ill get to draw some of these ideas soon

I've been reading some of your Pokemon reviews and you've mentioned the design philosophies of earlier gens vs later gens and I wonder if you've ever done a post elaborating on that? Like, how later gens have Pokemon be more characters and such, and how earlier gens they can be more monochrome in color and such? Idk if I'm making sense
There aren't any hard "rules" and each Gen tends to have its own subtle design philosophies and whatnot, but as a general rule here's some Gen 1-specific design things that you don't see as much of later on:
Colors tend to be muted and less saturated overall. Trends towards naturalistic colors, i.e., lots of browns
Often (though not always, see the Dragonair line as one exception) very simple in concept
More naturalistic fur/feathers—compare original Arcanine's fur, which is very fluffy, to Hisuian Arcaine's fur, which is comprised of easy-to-model shapes
Anatomy generally fairly realistic; less emphasis on shapes (as they weren't originally thinking of things like the anime or plushies)
Gen 1 specifically had an entire subgenre of designs based off kaiju that tended to be abstract monsters with a heavily "plated" look. These tend to be some of the earliest designs and mostly disappeared after this gen
Kind of a vague idea of what a Pokemon is. Can it have mechanical cannons? Sure! How about an item it carries? You bet! (Pokemon carrying items decreased drastically after this gen with more thought put into what the item is and how they obtained it)
Lines sometimes less coherent due to different 'mons getting slapped together during production
Less emphasis on making the mons "friend-shaped", for lack of a better term. A lot more designs that are creepy or more monstrous
Tend to be more animalistic without as much emphasis on having pre-defined personalities (like how Gholdengo is a radical surfer dude or how Sobble is always sad)
Lots of triangle eyes along with common 90s anime faces
Not too many finicky details like lots of markings due to sprite limitations
Disconcertingly large amount of head spikes
Many lines either change really drastically during evolution or barely change at all with little in-between

BLAST TO THE PAST.
➳ request: Idk if this has been done or not, but could I request a Pokémon SV X reader who has a Hisuian Pokémon team (Especially Hisuian Arcanine because it's a good fluffy volcano dog and who doesn't love that) and whilst the SV characters are freaking out over the past Hisuian Pokémon the reader just causally says something along the lines of "Oh yeah, I got sent to ancient Sinnoh for a while"
➳ character/s: arven, grusha, rika, larry, atticus, penny
➳ warnings: swearing
➳ notes: i really don't know anything about pokemon other than sv, lower your expectations for lore-related reactions-
𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 / 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 / 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 / 𝐰𝐢𝐩 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
asks for your actual age because they fear they may be dating a dinosaur (little shits-)
── ARVEN, rika
sit with your pokemon awkwardly because they don't know what to do with this information. possibly wondering how they might also be sent back in time.
── grusha, larry, PENNY
has a notebook out and is asking you a million questions about ancient sinnoh.
── arven, rika, ATTICUS
wonders what would happen if your pokemon ever like... had kids with theirs. they hope that doesn't happen for their own sanity (but if it were to happen, who are they to play god-)
── atticus, penny
is determined to be best friends with your pokemon and perhaps steal them away from you so they can have one of their own (your arcanine jokingly bites them every time they try to pet them)
── ARVEN, RIKA, grusha
treats your pokemon like your children and will tuck them into lil beds and cuddle with them on the couch or pet them when they work. might use them as a pillow or a plushie if you're out for a bit n didn't take them with you.
── grusha, LARRY, ATTICUS, penny

Lava_Beee (pretty well-known artist who draw she-ra fanart from time to time) is asking on twitter what would Adora and Catra main pokemon be. You're pretty knowledgeable when it comes to pokemon i believe, so what's your take?
hi i love lava_bee's art but here's the thing. i can't fucking answer this question. i can't. there are too many pokemon. and i don't mean this in a "i dont have every single pokemon + most of their shinies and types memorized" kind of way, because I do, i mean it is impossible for me to pick my favorite pokemon, which makes it very hard to have a "main", and even harder to ascribe a main to a character and feel.... idk, confident about it. i could give you 30 different answers and none of them would feel more correct. i've never seen a fan-team for them and went "oh yes this is the Correct answer" it's just an answer. its a little easier if you give me a specific gen and i can either 1) only use pokemon from that gen (so for gen 2 it had to be pokemon 152-251) or 2) only use pokemon from that game's regional pokedex (which includes all pokemon added to that gen and some from previous) as if we're saying okay if adora and catra were kalos trainers what would their team be, but even then, i think i would have a pool of like 20 pokemon i could call their team.
context also matters. are they casual trainers? are they gym leaders and confined by type? are they part of the evil team? are they really competitive and trying to get all the badges, and thus have balanced teams in mind? oh god are stats real in-universe? actually i refuse to acknowledge stats that makes this question a billion times harder, but typing is relevant.
anyway i think if adora was a dedicated trainer she'd care a lot about team balance but get too attached to some favorites and use them more than is logical, and if she isn't a competitive trainer than she's literally out here using her starter, the first three pokemon she befriended, and a fifth+sixth pokemon she saved spots for because she always found them really cool and had to work really hard to get
if catra is a dedicated trainer she'd be ruthless in cultivating a "perfect" team but she would end up falling for her in-universe melog equivalent and become a total softie for it even though it doesnt fit with the team so she only battles with them casually and drills her competitive team but then adora manages to talk her into a change of heart ("its not all about winning, its about the battle and the bond with your team too!") and she ends up putting melog on her final team against the champion/elite four/adora. if she's not a dedicated trainer she would outwardly refuse to learn about "good" pokemon and just pick based purely on vibes and completely ignore adora whining at her about type balance. and then she would be really good at playing around type, revealing she actually knows a lot more than she's pretending to care
and here's a small list of only some of my favorite pokemon to demonstrate what i mean: (Hisuian) Zorua (and Hisuian Zoroark but not regular) (Shiny form also) Slither Wing Torracat (Litten okay, NOT Incineroar at all) Sprigatito Chien-pao Alolan Ninetails Hisui Growlithe/Arcanine Cosmog, Cosmoem, Lunala (Solgaleo) Serperior Vivillion (Ocean, Savanna, Garden, Meadow, Marine, Sun, Elegant, Modern, Continental, Polar, Tundra) Applin (evols are good) Pumpkaboo Wooloo (not the evol) Rowlett (lowkey Dartix and Decidueye) Sinistea (not evol) & Poltchagheist (not the evol) Alcremie (varying by form but theres like 60 im not listeing them) Xerneas Marshadow Leavanny Xurkitree (shiny) Ponyta/Rapidash (kanto) and both galarian Lopunny Eevee(s) (Leafeon, Sylveon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Espeon) Hisuian Typholosion Meowstic shiny Maerenie (and Toxapex) Dwebble Joltik Doublade Minior Mimikyu Galarian Zapdos Yveltal Lunala (esp shiny) shiny Zacian & Zamazenta Jangmo-o (and Kommo-o but not the middle) Tapu Lele Spectrier Galarian Articuno Spinda (for the mechanic) Walking Wake
NOW IMAGINE DOING THIS FOR SOMEONE WHO ISN'T EVEN YOU

Gen I, Complete!
That's right, with Mew's poll finalized we can say we have made it through the entirety of Gen I's Pokemon (plus variants introduced in later generations)!
As such, I'd like to take a moment to recognize this generations...
Sultans of Smash!
(Which is just a fancy way of saying they got more "Smash" than "Pass" votes)
So then, lets go through the list! Our Smashables are (under the Read More because holy fuck we're gonna be here a while):
Venusaur! Voted 53.3% Smashable in Standard Form and 54.9% Smashable in Mega Form! Though sadly, Gigantamax did not make the cut.
Charizard, who really raked in the Smashes! Boasting a 58.2% Smash vote in Standard Form, a whopping 70.4% Smash vote in Mega X Form, an even 66% Smash vote in Mega Y Form, and a similar to standard 57.1% Smash vote in Gigantamax, we cannot deny it: Charizard is smashable however one pleases!
And rounding out the OG Starter Trio, Blastoise! Voted 57.4% Smashable in Standard Form! But, alas, only Standard Blastoise was voted smashable... I guess extra cannons just don't do it these days.
Looks like the Snakes are Sexy trope is in effect (maybe), because Arbok made the cut at 53.7%! Guess more people love snakes than you'd think.
Looks like this group has a queen. Or should I say, a Nidoqueen? At 61.7%, it seems she's managed to charm many trainers throughout the years!
But of course, where there's a queen, there's often a king! So it's only fitting that Nidoking joins the Sultans of Smash! Hitting a respectable 66.2%, it seems the Nido- royal family has made monarchists of more than a few.
It's a trend as old as time (or at least as old as the country of Japan). The Kitsune of Japanese folklore has always been seen with an aura of sultriness in even some of its oldest appearances, and it seems Pokemon is no exception. Ninetails has been voted Smashable, with the classic Kantonian Ninetails ranking at 64.5% and the more modern Alolan Ninetails at 66.7%! Though really, considering how common art of these two are, It's surely no surprise they've made it here.
Of course, a trend must be noted: Whenever Ninetails is anthropomorphized, it's almost always as a woman. So one has to wonder, if Ninetails is the lord of the female anthros, who's the lord of the male anthros? Well for that, look no further than Ninetails' counterpart from Red version, Arcanine! With an impressive 73% smashability in Kantonian form (plus the largest number of overall votes) and a fine 63.5% in Hisuian form, Arcanine's appeal is very much apparent to many.
I'd like to congratulate this next one for being the first non-final evolution to make the cut! Kadabra has managed to pull a 59.8% Smashability rating, earning them a spot in the Sultans of Smash!
Of course, Kadabra's not the only member of this family on here. Alakazam has also been voted Smashable, at 66.1% for Standard form and 55.4% for Mega! Seems Max was right, the ladies do love a good spoon-bending (which is impressive, considering he doesn't even like girls).
Perhaps you're not much for brains, maybe you prefer brawn. If that's the case, Machoke has you covered! At a 63.9% Smash rating, seems this Superpower Pokemon also has the super power of getting some.
But of course, much like their Psychic-Type counterpart family, it doesn't end with Machoke. Oh no, Machamp has also made their way to the list, with a 61.1% Smash in Standard Form and a 52.4% Smash in Gigantamax! I guess with four arms, there really is enough of Machamp to go around for everyone!
I suppose the allure of the tentacles is too strong for some to pass up, because Tentacruel has made it at a 51.3% Smash vote! Just, uh, make sure to have some Antidotes on hand for your fun times...
A loyal steed can get one through many things, and few steeds are so loyal as Rapidash! With Kantonian at 59.2% and Galarian at 64.8%, maybe we need to start calling them Nearl Arknights the way people wanna smash these horses.
I'm gonna be honest, this one I didn't see coming! Haunter has managed a 55.4% Smash vote, earning them a spot in the Sultans of Smash! Guess more people must be into ghosts than I thought.
This next one, less of a surprise! They're big, they're fun, and they can probably do all the stuff a Haunter can and more, Gengar has made the cut in all forms, with a 63.7% for Standard Form, a 60.8% for Mega, and a 53.4% for Gigantamax! What can we say, Gengar has it going on according to the statistics.
And next on the list, Hitmonchan! Making the cut at 52.6% and beating out the kick-based Hitmonlee, it would seem you can get some if you skip leg day! (...There's probably a fisting joke in here somewhere as well, but lets not go there. Low hanging fruit and all.)
It's one of the oldest questions: "Hey baby what that tongue do?" And it would seem Pokemon are not immune to this question either, or at least Lickitung isn't! And at a 55.4% Smash vote, the answer seems to be "This tongue does a lot."
We got ourselves a bit of an oddity on this one, as Tauros has made the cut... but only in two of its Paldean forms, with Blaze Breed hitting 60.4% Smash and Aqua Breed getting a 52.1% Smash! That said, the other two come close as well, so I must conclude that the additional elemental types just add that special something!
Many people love to be serenaded, it's just one of those facts of life. So maybe it'll come as no surprise that the musically inclined Lapras has managed to carve itself a nice 63.4% Smashability rating in the votes! That said, sadly Gigantamax has not had the same luck. Guess it's true, sometimes the original is just better.
Shapeshifting! Almost any time a super power with smash-based applications is thought of, shapeshifting is one of the first to be imagined. So it's almost certainly no surprise that the mercurial Ditto has managed to earn itself a hefty 70.1% Smash rating!
Oh boy queue up the copypasta, because Vaporeon has proven that people agree! Specifically, 52% of voters agree! ...No I'm not putting the copypasta here, someone already did that on Vaporeon's poll.
Of course, that's not to say the rest of the Eeveelutions are unloved! Why, Jolteon has managed to pull a 54.5% Smash rating!
And of course, Flareon isn't forgotten either (at least by the fans, the way the actual games treat it you have to wonder about Game Freak...)! Making it to a 52.4% Smash rating, Flareon (and Jolteon, as stated above) prove that all three OG Eeveelutions have their fair share of the love.
Coming in as the 25th member of the Sultans of Smash, Snorlax has proven to be considered big and beautiful by 56% of the vote! Though it would seem this does not extend to Gigantamax Snorlax, though judging by that tree on their belly they may simply be Too Big To Smash.
And of course, we now get to the OG Legendary Trio, the Elemental Birds! And starting us off is Articuno! Specifically, Galarian Articuno, who has managed to outsmash their Kantonian cousin and gain themselves a 69% Smash rating (nice). Personally, I think it's the Char Aznable vibes they give off, what with the mask and the psychic powers and the redder coloration (being purple to the Kantonian's blue) and the being faster (though not 3x faster).
And much like Articuno, Galarian Moltres has managed to overtake their Kantonian cousin and snatch the Smash rating! And at 60.8% Smash, it's clear that, at least for Moltres, they do go for the jerks.
We saw with Arbok, and now we see it here with Dragonair and their 61.8% Smash rating, serpentine Pokemon have their share of fans down to smash!
And as the first fully evolved Pseudo-Legendary and the first fully evolved Dragon-Type, Dragonite's 57.3% Smash rating has reminded us that sometimes, being big and friendly while also being strong enough to kick ass has its charms!
And finally, rounding out Gen I's Sultans of Smash, we have The Gamebreaker of their day, the original Bragging Rights 'Mon, Mewtwo! With a 68.8% in their Standard Form and a 56.7% in their Mega X Form, Mewtwo proves they still got it in terms of smashing! Though it seems that Mega Mewtwo just doesn't have the raw smashing charisma of their other two forms...
And that wraps up the Gen I Who's Who of Smashing! See you all after Gen II!

i missed pla's anniversary again but i don't have anything to post anyways, so i'm just gonna list some of my favourite parts of the game cuz it's one of my favourite games ever and i'll take any excuse to talk about it
i love the way the sky is modelled! pla's artstyle didn't do everything perfect but the sky is so pretty i look up at it all the time
the music! pokemon music is always good but pla absolutely nailed it when it came to mixing dppt tracks into new ones to create something atmospheric and nostalgic, or just coming up with new songs. some of my favs are aftermath, crimson mirelands 2, jubilife village, cobalt coastlands 1, ancient retreat, volo's battle theme, professor laventon's theme, the trailer music, palina's theme and caution (legendary)
the part where you walk through the cave with ingo!
professor laventon! he was so nice to me and made me feel loved always <3
kamado's character arc! i will defend kamado until the day i die yes it was not cool of him to kick a child out of the village into the wilderness but like!! he was scared! he wasn't thinking rationally! the village where he used to live got blown up by a pokemon and he didn't want that to happen again so he was trying to get rid of what he thought was the problem! sure he was wrong but-
the pokedex! i absolutely loved reading professor laventon's pokedex entries they're so cute. i really want to make a physical version of the hisui pokedex but i can't find a notebook with enough pages
the gameplay! i've spent so many hours just running around cuz the game itself is fun to play even when you aren't doing much. catching pokemon feels very smooth and seamless
hisuian zorua!
on that note, the animated series hisuian snow! that show deserved way more than 3 episodes man
i didn't necessarily like this part but it was very well executed- being banished from jubilife village. i was so upset i had to put the game down for a while. there were tears
and speaking of tears! i loved the arc with the noble arcanine
the battles against the nobles! they were a good mix of fun and challenging, especially against arceus (mildly related- watching purplecliffe fight electrode was extremely funny)
uh yeah thats all i got
#ehehe anyways this game meant a lot to me <3#i'm replaying it and i cried within the first hour#do you think we're gonna get legends unova? i really hope so#i hope we get legends unova and it releases in november of next year#pokemon#pokemon legends arceus#legends arceus#pla

so why is it called pokemon run and bun? does it have anything to do with the game or is it an inside joke or something? anyway tell me about your team :)
YESSSSSS YOU'RE ASKING ME ABOUT RUN AND BUN YESSSSSSSSSSSS
So "Run and Bun" is actually the username of a friend of the game's creator! Apparently it goes back to a tradition from Super Mario World Kaizo hacks in 2008, where people would put username's in the titles of their difficulty hacks
Anyway I don't really have a standard team of 6 cause the game isn't really meant to be played like that, but I do have a couple of Pokemon that I've brought to a lot of fights! Some notable examples are Pringle the Empoleon (you start with a Sinnoh starter in this game), Thog the Talonflame, Ludicolo (I ran out of nickname juice pretty quick lol), Hariyama, Alolan Sandslash, Togedumaru (REALLY good in this game!), Ursaluna, Cloyster, Hamilton the Hisuian Arcanine (that name's from an in-game trade), Krookodile, and my newest catch, Ribombee Bombus!!

Hi Indigo!
What challenges do pokémon coming back from the past face? Like at the sanctuary you're setting up
Squid i am so glad you asked ive been looking for an excuse to infodump about this for so long. this is under the cut cause i worry about it being long.
okay so the term "coming back from the past" is a bit...not quite accurate. for most pokemon at least!!
due to a recent insurgence in hisuian trait breeding programs, the vast majority of the pokemon in these programs that are coming into the sanctuary don't experiences many challenges in adapting because they've been born into the modern world.
now of course, there are some health problems. some people in their quest to breed hisuian traits back into the modern era have turned to inbreeding, which as we all know can cause so many genetic problems to crop up. many hisuian arcanine are having runt litters, some hisuian electrode have sap leakage which is bad for their health, qwilfish with underdeveloped spikes, typhlosion with stunted snouts and flames, sneasels with brittle claws, Samurotts with similarly brittle horns, and i could go on.
we do have a few ah- theyre called "old breed" hisuian mons? which is just a fancy word for saying hisuian mon that have slipped through wormholes or in some instances were taken from hisui into the modern era and put in my custody for the sanctuary. they havent had any chance to adapt or get used to modern era.
for those folks, their challenges are adapting to modern era, which will hopefully be negated by the historical accuracy of the sanctuary to hisui. fingers crossed!! another problem, is that for many of them, their food is a bit extinct. many small fish and bug mons that were never really classified no longer exist. so we have to find foods similar enough that they will accept them as new prey.
....there is one other problem i have learned about. with hisuian pokemon. in the specific case, where there is a hisuian pokemon in a pokeball that never passed away and was never let out. there is a very low chance that they can survive to modern era. but they are never secure. they cannot handle it, and become incredibly aggressive and warped in personality.
so far, as far as i know, this specific problem has only occurred once, with a Hisuian Zoroark who was known by the name "Dusk". he has since passed away.

TFP as Pokemon
Rescue Bots Animated
@gelu-the-babosa-multiversal @cf8wrk4u-us The final piece of this little project!
Optimus Prime
Pokémon: Arcanine
Moves: Fire Fang, Roar, Flamethrower, Retaliate
Reason: Since Optimus is the leader of the Autobots, considered something of a legend since he was chosen by the matrix to become a prime, I wanted a Pokémon that wasn't just strong, but considered majestic and respected, and Arcanine is literally called the 'Legendary Pokémon', and is highly respected, I came to the conclusion that Optimus is a Arcanine.
Ratchet
Pokémon: Organguru
Moves: Calm Mind, Instruct, Zen Headbutt, Last Resort
Reason: Ratchet is a medic, a bit of a mentor figure to the kids, especially Raf, and he doesn't really go into battle as much as the others, so I thought Oranguru was best since they don't really go into action much and are said to provide medicine to Pokémon.
Bumblebee
Pokémon: Passimian
Moves: Focus Energy, Rock Smash, Protect, Reversal
Reason: This might be hard to explain, but I think Bumblebee is this Pokémon because of his loyalty to not just the team, but Raf and Passimian is a Pokémon all about teamwork, with one as the troop's leader. And Bumblebee's story throughout TFP and RiD shows him go from follower to leader, which sort of reminds me of how I imagine Passimian function when it comes to their troops.
Arcee
Pokémon: Weavile
Moves: Slash, Night Slash, Quick Attack, Agility
Reason: An unusual choice, I admit, but after some thinking, I think Weavile suits her better. I think Weavile goes well with Arcee's swiftness and nimbleness, her loner attitude while still being loyal to her team, and how cold she can come across at first glance before warming up to others.
Bulkhead
Pokémon: Mabosstiff
Moves: Headbutt, Protect, Double-Edge, Reversal
Reason: Might seem like a weird choice, but I really think it makes sense because they actually have much in common. They are both tough, they may seem brutish, but are caring and kind and protectors of kids. Plus, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Arven's Mabosstiff's story kind of reminds me of when Bulkhead was seriously injured.
Cliffjumper
Pokémon: Tauros
Moves: Horn Attack, Thrash, Zen Headbutt, Swagger
Reason: Not going to lie, the horns on his head was a contributing factor to why I chose this Pokémon, but also because both are tough that like a good fight.
WheelJack
Pokémon: Samurott (Hisuian form)
Moves: Ceaseless Edge, Slash, Razor Shell, Retaliate
Reason: He has always given me lone warrior vibes, especially with his Katanas, it just gives me wondering ronin vibes. I especially chose Hisuian form because it's a version that fights dirty and Wheeljack often clashes with others over different way of doing things, but eventually proves to be loyal and that he's on their side.
Smokescreen
Pokémon: Boltund
Moves: Charge, Wild Charge, Play Rough, Electric Terrain
Reason: I think Smokescreen has similar vibes to a Boltund. It's hard to explain, but Smokescreen's personality, his energy, excitement and impulsiveness to fight sort of reminds me of how I see a Boltund, as an excitable dog that just needs proper guidance and training to reach their potential. Also, I wanted to have another dog Pokémon to sort of go with Optimus since he was considered to be his successor at one point.
Ultra Magnus
Pokémon: Armarouge
Moves: Expanding Force, Armor Cannon, Lava Plume, Psyshock
Reason: Armarouge is a loyal pokemon created from the armor of a distinguished warrior and Ultra Magnus is loyal to Optimus and the Autobots and I imagine that as leader of the Wreakers, he is a distinguished warrior himself. I also chose this because Ultra Magnus is serious, by-the-book, and strict military figure, and I imagine Armarouge being something similar.
Megatron
Pokémon: Ceruledge
Moves: Bitter Blade, Swords Dance, Shadow Claw, Fire Blast
Reason: I think Ceruledge matches well with this version of Megatron. It reminds me of Megatron's past as a gladiator and it evolves from the grudge of a fallen warrior, and Megatron is a warrior with a grudge against Optimus.
Starscream
Pokémon: Golispod
Moves: Defense Curl, First Impression, Spite, Fury Cutter
Reason: This was the toughest, but in the end, I went with Golisopod, mostly because its evolution is similar to Starscream change from TFP to RiD, becoming more a threat compared to the more cowardly conniving punk he started out as. Plus, in TFP, when he wasn't listening to his ego and cowardice, proved to be a capable fighter and could come up with decent plans. Golispod is tough, but when its health is low enough, it would retreat and make another Pokémon battle in its place.
Soundwave
Pokémon: Skeledirge
Moves: Torch Song, Will-O-Wisp, Hex, Snarl
Reason: Another one hard to explain, but ultimately, I went with this pokemon because the little firebird sort of reminds me of Lazerbeak, and Soundwave is a communications officer and Skeledirge sings as a way of communicating, and with the Ghost-Typing, it can be stealthy like Soundwave, and I wanted a Pokémon that could work with Megatron since they are close from their gladiator days. Both are Gen 9 Pokémon that are Fire/Ghost types.
Knock-Out
Pokémon: Roserade
Moves: Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Giga Drain, Poison Jab
Reason: After much research and consideration, I decided that he would be a Roserade. Knock-out is vain and Roserade is considered beautiful, Knock-out is a medic but also a bit of a torturer, Roserade knows healing moves, but is part Poison-Types. And both are pretty strong in a fight.
Breakdown
Pokémon: Krookodile
Moves: Outrage, Swagger, Thrash, Earthquake
Reason: Honestly, not much to really say about this one. Breakdown is a brute and gives me bully vibes and Krookodile is part Dark-Type and is considered the 'Bully of the Sands'
Dreadwing
Pokémon: Lucario
Moves: Aura Sphere, Metal Claw, Calm Mind, Counter
Reason: An interesting choice, I ultimately chose Lucario because Dreadwing is interesting compared to other Decepticons, because of the bond he had with his brother, and his code of honor, which causes him to work with Optimus to do what he believes is right. And he is skilled and loyal enough to reach second-in-command, until he learned what Starscream did to his brother, showing his care for Skyquake trumps his loyalty to Megatron.
Airachnid
Pokémon: Gourgeist
Moves: Scary Face, Shadow Ball, Trick-or-Treat, Power Whip
Reason: First of all, none of the spider Pokémon worked for her, in my opinion. Second, I chose Gourgeist because, similar to Airachnid, it can be rather sadistic as it takes joy from the suffering of others, not even kids are safe. If I had to choose which size Gourgeist would be, I'd say Large-Size because Cybertronians are bigger than humans, but she isn't the biggest among them.
Shockwave
Pokémon: Malamar
Moves: Psycho Cut, Foul Play, Psybeam, Hyper Beam
Reason: Not much to really say, other than Shockwave is intelligent and evil and Malamar is intelligent and evil, plus their colors kind of match each other, so there's that.
Predaking
Pokémon: Mewtwo
Moves: Ancient Power, Aura Sphere, Psystrike, Take Down
Reason: I wasn't sure about this at first, but after looking to Mewtwo and Predaking's origins, this was too perfect. Both were cloned from another creature, who I'm pretty sure were altered a bit from their original, both were created for malevenat purposes, which led them to distrusting others while caring only for their own species (humans for Mewtwo and the Autobots for Predaking), but eventually grows to respect them.
Sorry for taking so long, but life has been keeping me busy, and this was the toughest of the three, but I hope you all enjoy it. This was super fun to do, and I might do something like this again in the future.

Real World Team Counterparts: Volo
That drawing looks a lot better on paper oopsie
So I took all of his team and thought "hm what would these be if they were real creatures?".
Also apologies for poor resolution I had to combine the images.
Garchomp: Great White Sharks
Firstly, it looks like a shark. It has the fins for it!!
Secondly, Great White Sharks "fly" out of water. And Garchomp's dex entry says it flies. (I've only seen it in the anime though)
And I saw somewhere say it's fast. I dunno what's considered fast for a shark tho.
Roserade: Desert Rose
(My original choice was a Venus flytrap, but it wasn't as Roserade like as I originally thought)
Okay so normal roses aren't poisonous, and I was determined to pick a toxic flower!!
This was the only desert rose I found that looks like this, so I'm not sure how real it is, but it has both purple and pink, the colors of Roserade's roses. (In the BDSP 3d sprite the blue looks a lot more purple)(+ Pink red, same thing basically)
The appearance fits the elegance Roserade puts off + it's toxic
Spiritomb: Albatross:
Spiritomb is a hard one, but Albatrosses are rumored to have souls of dead sailors. And Spiritomb is just a bunch of souls!! Best one I could find.
They're also endangered due to plastic in seas. (this is your reminder to not use plastic if possible) Endangered animals are rare
Arcanine: Border Collie Canine
Hisuian Arcanine is like the only dex entry that doesn't talk about it being elegant. But it talks about how it "dances" in battle, which wasn't literal dancing, but with quick speeds and graceful moves. Which could be considered elegant.
Elegance is subjective though and look at how elegant that fluffy boy looks!!
Arcanines are known for their speed and according to multiple websites Border Collies are in the top 10 speediest ones!!
I also needed a dog and a fluffy one, look at this baby!! It fits the vibe check!!
Lucario: Bonfire Kennel German Pinscher Canine
Tried so hard to find something that wasn't just a dog that looked like it but everything was pointing back to dogs.
Aura was similar to senses, so I was gonna find something with good senses, I could only think of dogs
Friendship evolution made me want to find something loyal, and dogs are known for loyalty
So I just picked a dog that looked like Lucario
Finally Togekiss: Blue Bird
The Togepi line is known for being a symbol of luck and happiness. So is the Blue Bird!! It's the only bird I could find that fit the vibe check and was both.
I needed a bird for her too (I think it's called a she by Volo in game, I'm not sure if that was just fan media tho)
Bonus:Giratina
Definitely some sort of snake.
Snakes are symbols for evil in many religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam are some examples (and the first 3 I found when I googled this).
Giratina is like...Pokemon Satan, who's known to be the incarnate of evil in Christianity.
May I mention one of the main evils it resembled was destruction, and Giratina was known for wanting to destroy Arceus.
+ Vibe check fitter
Extra Thoughts
GUYS DON'T HATE SNAKES!! In other religions they symbolize good things + they're cool.
Okay so I actually did this since I keep tryna use Volo for RPS and needed an alternative for Togepi. That's what made me want to do his whole team.
Imagine him owning a massive shark like that casually. Pls.
Also Spiritomb was the only one who didn't really fit the vibe of an Albatross. So sorry Spiritomb!!
Happy Volo month btw
Anyways suggest teams for me to do next and have a wonderhoytastic day!

Greetings, you can call me Eve or Sinnoh. I’ve grown used to both, honestly. I’m a pokeball crafter and I specialize in the Hisuian style of crafting, not the Johtoian style, if that means anything to you. I also do woodcarving as a fun side thing. Usually little statuettes and things.
My team is as follows: Hibana, my Hisuian Arcanine, the light of my life, my partner since I was five. ♀ Malice, my Hisuian Zoroark, my self-appointed guardian. ♀ Foxglove, my Sneasler, my fashion consultant and self-appointed brother. ♂ Cedar, my Hisuian Electrode, resident young lord. ♂
Yes, I only have four Pokemon, no, I have no current plans to get more. Yes, this suits me just fine. No, I will not engage in a competitive or ranked battle, despite how you may bait me. Yes, I will make pokeballs on commission.

heyyy it’s me @/anxiousazure back at it again with another pokemon irl blog because i lack self control!! i also run @/kitakami-zorua-kin @/kitakami-specter and @/unovan-artist (though it is inactive due to lack of inspiration). you can call me azure i use. so many pronouns. honestly as long as it’s not she i’m probably fine with it. check my main blog for more details i guess. uhhh alright mod is an adult eve is a minor (i place them at like 16ish?). use your good judgement and all, anything i deem as inappropriate will get deleted (also i’m asexual, so uh. yeahhh. don’t feel like seeing any of that stuff tbh). i mod have really bad social anxiety so if i havent answered or interacted. i am simply scared. i am very easily intimidated and my brain will continuously go "but what if there's an unspoken Rule you're breaking" and paralyze me.
fair warning! eve’s lore will shift into some darker topics, including but not limited to wilderness survival, near death, near death of pokemon, and the trauma resulting from that. (what, you thought i made a normal oc? extremely loud incorrect buzzer) (eve got hisui'd temporarily as a young child (not at the protagonist. just. wrong place wrong time). space-time distortions are fun :3)
i'll use #eve lore as a general tag when rehashing backstory stuff. #eve posts is the normal, #eve answers is for answering asks, #eve reblogs is for reblogs, #ask eve for ask games. etc etc.
uhhh. eve straight up collapsed during their last ranked battle under Kieran's Championship and has decided to take a step back from competitive battling as a result, though they've yet to officially withdraw from the League Club. feel free to poke at that some more.
anyways the pfp picrew again (same one as russet) is here. eve actually wears the bb tracksuit with a galaxy survery corps uniform top over it. yes there are always bandages on their hands and arms (no it is not self harm- i don't. i don't mess with that). yes i encourage you to poke at it. yes they will lie about it at first.

SEPTEMBER 12th
Today was my birthday. I would have gone out somewhere to eat if it weren't for the terribly polluted air. It was rotten a year ago, but things have only gotten worse. (No thanks to those wildfires earlier in July.) I'm sick of this unbreathable air, and the only birthday present I really want is for the air to become clean again.
I was finally able to redesign certain characters. The new designs are far from finished. So you'll have to wait to see which characters got the facelift they needed.
While playing Pokémon Violet, I battled against a few people online and tried to earn marks for some of my newer Pokémon.
If he's that big, why didn't you give him a Jumbo Mark?
After I failed to give my Pokémon any marks, I went to the Pokémon Center to see Nurse Joy congratulate me on my birthday.
The banner was a nice touch.
After studying for a bit, I returned to Pokémon Violet to catch a Pokémon with a Destiny Mark. There were a lot of great candidates. But I eventually chose a Tinkatink.
She's not shiny. But she's good enough for me.
SEPTEMBER 13th
Aside from all the gifts I received yesterday, one of my later ones was a ticket to Kitakami.
Later in the afternoon, I first went to Pokémon HOME to update Umbre's moveset after I heard that Umbreon was able to learn Toxic again. Thankfully, Umbre already knew that move, so I helped him remember it.
Now he can actually stand a chance against Paldea's worst.
I got caught up in battling others with my newly improved Pokémon. It wasn't until after my second match that I remembered to dash off to Uva Academy.
I wouldn't say it was THAT soon. I've only been in this country for half a year.
Jacq tells me that going to Kitakami will allow me to see new Pokémon (who aren't that new as I've already seen them all before) and that I should have fun with it. Another thing he told me was that he already got my mom's permission to come along.
How they never told me about this, I have no idea.
Also, Blueberry Academy has roots in Unova.
There's also a lot of Unova Pokémon in Kitakami too. If that's not a hint at remakes for Black and White, I don't know what is.
Briar presents herself as the descendant of the Violet Book author and shares the completed versions of the pages we saw in Professor Turo's research facilities, proving that my hypothesis was correct.
Sadly, we won't get to see Terapogos for another few months.
Before I knew it, I was finally in Kitakami County.
And I've already made some progress on the new Pokédex. (I'll fill it up some more later.)
Not all was well in this country, as this one girl didn't want me on her turf.
Naturally, I taught her a lesson through a Pokémon battle. (While also learning that, yes, Poltchageist is part-Grass.)
Like every other rival, she acted like a sore loser.
But then again, I was the one who had 5 Pokémon that were at a higher level than hers.
Sometime after I was settled in at the community center, I was given my first assignment while learning abroad.
I wanted to get to the first one. But I was too busy exploring the town for treasure.
This might be the most unenthusiastic Joy I've ever seen. She's like one of those people who act poorly while on the job because they're stuck with it and have nowhere better to look for a paycheck. Which would be reasonable if this weren't a Pokémon Center.
At least she has the courtesy to stay off her cell phone while operating the machine. Speaking of which...
Why didn't they have a feature like this from the beginning? The TM Machine also had new TMs available for creation. But I didn't need them at the moment.
I eventually met this woman named Perrin.
I was going to wonder why someone like her has a Hisuian Growlithe. But considering everyone else fights with Ursaluna and Hisuian Arcanine, I'm just going to forget it and move on.
I'm more careful in real life.
A goal I'm sure will probably take months to complete. (If I didn't have any of those Pokémon in other games.)
SEPTEMBER 15th
I was worried about my performance in school. But my friends told me I was doing a great job and I needed to calm down. I didn't have any school today, which meant I could focus on celebrating the 5th anniversary of Pokémon Pocket Web Comics before getting some sleep.
The air was getting a bit chilly today. It was the perfect sign fall was right around the corner. In a few days, all of my current problems will be no more. (For a while, anyway.)
In Pokémon Violet, I finally made my way to the first signboard. Surprisingly, despite only taking me two days to reach, Kieran didn't beat me to it.
It's almost as if it could be a Pokémon.
It's too bad I didn't get a badge for this photo. This screen feels incomplete without one.
I'm hoping that Miraidon will learn a new technique soon. Also, I haven't heard Pokémon be referred to as Kaiju since the first games were still in development.

I have. Somewhat of an idea for what Pokemon the boys would be.
For the Sakamakis, Shu is an Arcanine, Reiji is a shiny Delphox, Ayato is a Zoroark, Kanato is a Banette, Laito is a Lopunny, and Subaru is a shiny Absol.
For the Mukamis, Ruki is a Meowstic, Kou is an Ampharos, Yuma is a shiny Chesnaught, and Azusa is either a Deino or a Swoobat.
Carla is a Hisuian Zoroark and Shin is a Midnight Lycanroc. I don't know a whole lot about Kino yet but I think he'd be a Morgrem.
"laito is a lopunny" YOU WOULD DO THIS TO ME?
yknow whats so crazy about this. I was hoping I'd get an ask like this bc I was imagining how the pmd au would go and I had some ideas but I didn't know what pokemon they would be. which seems pretty important. so I was hoping u would send this, and I had a psychic vision and I was like "theyre gonna say shu is a fire type" and U REALLY DID SAY THAT SHU IS A FIRE TYPE BRO I'm gonna cry

Rating all of Pokémon's regional forms pt. 3!
Hisuian forms:
Hisuian Growlithe and Arcanine: Hisuian Growlithe is pretty darn cute! I love the fact that they covered its eyes with its hair!! And Hisuian Arcanine looks quite badass in my opinion. 55/10
Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode: I love the Electric/Grass type given and it fits the Hisui region pretty damn well! I like that the expressions are swapped here. It really makes them look different from OG Voltorb and Electrode! 9/10
Hisuian Typhlosion: Hmmm... I kinda like the smug expression in contrast to OG Typhlosion. You can really feel the Ghost type in it. I also like the contrast between the flames and the ghostly flames coming from Hisuian Typhlosion. 65/10
Hisuian Qwilfish and Overqwil: I like that Qwilfish got an evo. I felt it really deserved it as OG Qwilfish was pretty damn forgettable. I like Overqwil because of its metal design and savage Pokedex entry. I also love how different it is from OG Qwilfish. 20/10
Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler: Wow. I really love the color and expression contrast. I like the fact that it got a regional evo instead of a Hisuian Weavile. 45/10
Hisuian Samurott: Erm... I'm not a big fan of the fact that it's not that different from OG Samurott. But I like the details of the design! I like that they made it a little edgier. Well, at least they did something with it. The design could've been a lot worse. 6.7/10
Hisuian Lilligant: I like what they did with this one. I love the fact that they gave it a Grass/Fighting type and not Grass/Fairy. Lovely/10
White Striped Basculin and Basculegion: I love the fact that White Striped Basculin is gentle in contrast to Red and Blue Striped Basculin. Also, Basculegion's female form has me feeling bad for it. I just want to hug the poor creature.... 140/10
Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark: I like the direction they took with it. It's got a metal backstory and a very beautiful design. 256/10
Hisuian Braviary: I just feel pretty... eh about it. 5/10
Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra: I just don't like 'em. I don't like the fact that they don't look different from their OG forms. I despise their shiny forms too. 1.5/10
Hisuian Avalugg: I don't know about this one, but I can say that for one, I like the fact that at least they tried to make it look different unlike Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra. 7/10
Hisuian Decidueye: Now THIS is something real good. I like the autumn colors they gave it! And its pose is BADASS!!!!! 341/10
Favorite: Hisuian Decidueye
Second favorites: Hisuian Zoroark and Basculegion
Least favorite: Hisuian Sliggoo and Goodra
Most badass: Hisuian Arcanine
Cutest: Hisuian Growlithe
Reminder: Be nice. Don't bring other people down for agreeing or disagreeing with this list. It's just my silly old opinion, after all. Don't make me use Curse on anyone.

-- RP: @skullboneandunown
skullboneandunown:
"Well, 'mutant' is more of a general term, considering there isn't really an official name for it. Professor Xavier mentioned something about an 'X-gene'. You'll have to ask him about it. But Willow isn't a mutant. She's just part Fae." Flannery nods her head, thinking about what team she should use for this year's gym challenge. "I wonder if I should use Kotaro this year. He is a fire type, after all." Her eyes light up at the thought of Willow watching them battle. "Oh! That means Willow can watch us battle! That's going to be so exciting!" She claps excitedly, and smiles. Donovan's parents jump a bit when Ashe askes to talk to the Professor. "Oh sweetie, you don't need to ask. We'll be on the back porch if you need us." With that, they put their shoes and jackets on, stepping outside to chat. Professor Xavier turns his wheelchair to face her, giving her a warm smile. "What can I assist you with, my dear? How are you feeling after that little scare earlier?"
Leon offered a interested expression, a smile on his features. "Kotaro is the Hisuian Arcanine, right?-- And yeah, that was the general idea Love and I had in mind when taking her with us. We want her to see how the Gym League challenge works. Besides, she can say she's been to Hoenn now besides Johto." It was clear both parents wanted to show their daughter the world and more, but knew very well she was showing signs of blanking out on memories and forgetting things much like Ashe did. Both knew it might be trauma and thus they wanted her to have a childhood as they could offer.
Ashe offered a shaky sigh. "... To tell you the truth, I feel helpless." She admits with a tired expression following. "I love my daughter so... so much... and i'm afraid that I can't protect her anymore... I can't teach her the things she's going to need to know to survive." She had picked up the knife on her way out of the room and she pulled it out to show it to him -- a fang that had been shaved to that of a child's knife wrapped in symbolic things and feathers hanging off of it. "I gave this to her to survive after I nearly lost her in that time distortion. These scars on my arms are from that event... and yet... I know she won't need to use this in the ways we trained there."
She pauses for a small moment to let her words sink in.
"She needs to be able to balance that instinct she learned as a child and be able to roam this world freely without drawing attention to herself... and I don't think I can teach her that. Leon and I both... we need to go through some therapy ourselves just to uncondition ourselves from that time distortion." She shakes her head and puts the knife away. "... So with that in mind... in the fall, i'd like her to begin attending your school. I've taught her all I can for now -- the rest is what others can teach her, so, Professor... please help my daughter. I want her to know a better childhood then I did at Blueberry Academy. She's so very loved but love can only take her so far. She needs to utilize what she can to be something she, herself, years from now, can be proud of."

I WANNA KNOW YOUR 8PATH POKEMON TEAMS!!!!!
here they are! this is very long as i put some story for a few of my pokémon choices, as well as an explanation on how pokémon fit into the lore of the game. there's also spoilers for the whole game in here, so because of that and the length ive put it all under a readmore.
in this pokémon au, i didn't replace any monsters or animals with pokémon. instead, they're defined as creatures capable of being tamed by humans, capable of evolution, and capable of using magic in some way, shape, or form.
humans are still able to use magic like in the original game, including the dark arts. humans who often fight (i.e. mercenaries and soldiers) still fight with weapons, and fight alongside and/or against pokémon. legendaries exist, but they are not very well known. pokéballs also don't exist yet in this au, so pokémon sometimes come and go as they please. trainers will often only bring 2 or 3 pokémon with them at a time, and very few people have full teams.
and here's the main character teams themselves, in the order i got the characters in during my first playthrough :) each character (for the most part) got 5 regular pokemon and one legendary. i imagine in a gameplay perspective that legendary would be summoned similarly to using a divine skill.
Tressa:
Main team: Meowth, Dragonite, Lapras, Pachirisu, Floatzel
Legendary: Lugia
Meowth: the family pet, who is especially close to tressa. she found it as a stray a few years ago, and has taken care of it ever since. it follows her everywhere.
Dragonite: received as an egg as a gift from Leon when she first set off on her journey. its the child of Leon's Dragonair.
Lugia: in ch3 when Tressa went to search for the Eldrite, she went alone, forgetting to consider the danger in her excitement. when the venomtooth tiger ambushed her, Lugia appeared to help her fight it off. when the rest of the party caught up to help her, Lugia disappeared. it appears again in ch4, and Tressa befriends it.
Olberic:
Main team: Lucario, Aggron, Hisuian Samurott, Arcanine, Staraptor ★
Legendary: Zacian
Lucario: Olberic's oldest pokémon, from his days as a knight. it's too old to battle anymore, so it likes to train the younger members of the party. it and Erhardt's Lucario are littermates.
Aggron: it lived in the Cobbleston area when it was an Aron and liked to follow Olberic around. despite its intimidating appearance, it is very gentle and a bit shy.
Zacian: it and Zamazenta used to fight alongside Olberic and Erhardt, but disappeared during the fall of Hornburg. they reappear when Erhardt saves Olberic during the revolt against Werner in ch4. it is more outgoing and playful than its sister.
Primrose:
Main team: Umbreon, Primarina, Oricorio, Mismagius, Masquerain
Legendary: Yveltal
Primrose does not have any pokemon in the beginning of her story. she used to have a Piplup as a child, but it was killed in the fall of house Azelhart.
Umbreon: a stray Eevee Primrose met not long after ch1. it evolves not long after Primrose comes to really trust her new friends and see them as family. (probably sometime between ch2 and 3)
Primarina: met in the coastlands as a popplio on the party's way to Atlasdam. it reminds her a bit of her Piplup. it gets along well with her Umbreon.
Yveltal: a pokémon that Primrose has kept catching glimpses of since she set out on her journey. she finally meets it face-to-face outside of Everhold expecting to have to battle it, but instead it speaks to her, lending her its support and it's power.
Alfyn:
Main team: Politoed, Meganium, Froakie, Azumarill, Audino
Legendary: Ho-oh
Politoed: a poliwag that Alfyn saved from an injury. it immediately got attached to him.
Meganium: was a gift from Zeph when Alfyn left on his journey, after switching satchels with him. its sweet scent helps soothe Alfyn's patients.
Ho-oh: replaces the ogre eagle from his ch4. instead of chasing it off, he befriends it instead, treating its injuries after the battle.
Therion:
Main team: Liepard, Mimikyu, Chimecho, Meowscarada, Alolan Marowak
Legendary: Lunala
Therion had a Glameow before Darius betrayed him. it fell to it's death when Darius pushed them both off the cliff. Therion later remembers it died trying to cushion the fall for him.
Liepard: found Therion at the bottom of the cliff as a Purrloin and tried to help him. it sticks by his side despite his hesitancy to have a new partner pokémon.
Lunala: when Therion was pushed off the cliff, a Cosmog found him and Purrloin and teleported them near a town so they could get help. it's very elusive, but he can often tell when it's around. it evolves into Cosmoem during ch3 and into Lunala during the confrontation with Darius in ch4.
Chimecho: a Chingling that often wandered around the Ravus estate. it, like Purrloin, decided to follow Therion. despite his apparent annoyance towards it, it evolves pretty quickly.
H'aanit:
Main team: Chien-Pao, Luxray, Braviary, Noivern, Sawsbuck
Legendary: Rayquaza
H'aanit, Z'aanta, and Susanna can all speak to and understand pokémon.
Chien-Pao: Linde!! the only one of her kind, and a reincarnation of one of the treasures of ruin, which were thought to be related somehow to the Gate of Finis. she and Hägen do not age normally, as they are soul-linked (as in the nuzlocke type) with their human companions.
Luxray: the ghisarma in ch1 attacked a pack of Luxray, Luxio, and Shinx. H'aanit saved a Shinx cub from being slaughtered during the confrontation. the Shinx's parents had both been slain, so it decided to stay with her and Linde.
Rayquaza: replaces the dragon from ch3. H'aanit chases it off to get to the herb-of-grace, but it returns in ch4 to help her defeat Redeye.
Ophilia:
Main team: Frosmoth, Chandelure, Togekiss, Alolan Ninetales, Gardevoir
Legendary: Zekrom
Frosmoth: a Snom that Ophilia has had for several years now. she and Lianna befriended their first pokémon together.
Chandelure: a litwick that Ophilia found in the cave of the first flame.
Togekiss: an egg that Ophilia received not long after leaving on her journey.
because Togepi, Litwick, and Snom are quite young and weak, Ophilia has to do most of the battling for her team at first.
Ophilia finds the dark stone during her ch3, after defeating the two cultists.
Zekrom: Matthias was planning to use Zekrom to help unleash Galdera and create his ideal world, however the dark stone refused to react for him. it reacts to Ophilia and is unleashed when she confronts him and Lianna. Zekrom is very levelheaded compared to its counterpart, and is a calming presence to Ophilia and Lianna, despite its intimidating appearance.
Cyrus:
Main team: Reuniclus, Ampharos, Decidueye, Espeon, Sigilyph
Legendary: Reshiram
Reuniclus: a Solosis that Cyrus has had since he started studying at the academy. it's very affectionate towards him, however it seems shy to everyone else. it is clumsy, and afraid of battling at first, causing Cyrus to get into a lot of bad situations. it gets braver over time thanks to Cyrus' patience and care for it.
Espeon: the child of Odette's Flareon. it was especially adventurous as a young Eevee, which made it hard for Odette and her pokémon to take care of it. Cyrus agrees to take care of it on Odette's condition that he be more careful in his investigations.
Cyrus finds the light stone after defeating Yvon.
Reshiram: the light stone was one of the many things Yvon had hoarded for himself. he planned to use Reshiram to exert his own power, however the light stone refused to react to him. it reacts to Cyrus and is unleashed when he confronts Lucia. Reshiram is very hotheaded compared to its counterpart, and Cyrus often has to calm it down.
#asks#ot1#ot1 spoilers#was debating on whether or not to include erhardt's team to this post since i made it to contrast with olberic's#but it felt kind of out of place. maybe some other time#that being said i have a teams for most of the major NPCs (although not all of them have 6 pokemon)#so if anyone's curious about a character feel free to ask
