So his original plan was just to, eating nd going around with doyoung, chatting....etc......but the company made it more like a veriety show interview where they could bring guest nd ask abt their upcoming activities!!! Haha..... That's funny.... What haechan wanted was a relaxation, just enjoying the eating with doyoung's company, he picked doyoung coz of their reaction over foods so ppl won't get really bored just see them eating... Nd yes if it is harchan nd doyoung ofcrs they fight nd it is kinda fun to watch... But now it become more serious job, like its ok if the guests are from nct, or the person they already known.... But the guests coming from outside of the bubble makes it more visible.. The epi with minhyung, like they did well but the awkwardness was visible, minhyung was not shy seeing strangers for the first time was a plus point in that episode... I'm not criticizing, it is a great opportunity for them to make new frnds nd also a new path... Since 127 is going on a hiatus.... Nd ofcrs doyoung nd haechan were enjoying it and also doing a good job this far... But I'm just wondering how would it be it for just 2 of em to go on a show... Haechan and Doyoung eat out together a lot as it is. More like, Haechan wants a programme for himself. In the past he pitched the idea about Haechan's radio, that one lasted for some time.

Mokchu is low budget. There are only 2-3 staff members at the location, maybe, plus editors at SM. To attract non k-pop fans or non-NCT fans a restaurant-review show should have a better camerawork (i.e. cameramen at the shooting location), lighting, sound. Just look at Heechul's drinking show Do attended. There were like 10-12 staff members on the side, sitting in two rows. There is a big competition as there are many mukbaeng shows.

Therefore, I get why SM turned it into a more common format (hosts+guests). 2Dongs can shoot episodes with only two of them anytime later, as specials. I'm more concerned about another member replacing Haechan and later Doyoung. That will be a bigger deviation from the original plan, even more like work instead of doing something the two enjoy.

Fans tend to watch mostly content with their faves. And not all of them do. Even such a popular member like Taeyong gets 200-300k views for his TY vlogs. (Although I do believe that YT doesn't count many views, maybe from those who use adblocks). Therefore, I think 2Dongs show would have been watched only by their fans.

This show is a good practice though. The episode with Minhyung showed that both 2Dongs are not very good with dealing with new to them people in a situation without a prepared script, where they can rely on a professional role and don't need to decide how they should act (be more polite/be more friendly). Haechan can't even be his cheeky self (which he plays easily on variety shows). And Doyoung can't be MC easily (because their show doesn't have a structure, rules to follow, yet).

I have read many many cnovels over the years, but the one that has always stuck with me was 清明记 (Story of Qing Ming) by 清朗 (aka  赵晨光) since I first read it more than 10 years ago. It’s a short one at only 18 chapters, telling the story of the titular character Qing Ming, an assassin from the rebel city of Yu Jing. Of course he becomes ‘bosom friends’ with Pan Bai Hua a politically savvy minister from the capital... and spoiler alert, it does not end well.

This is my favourite part of the novel, describing Qing Ming entering the capital on his final mission to assassinate Pan Bai Hua. He has always been one to accept the life he has been born into but when he catches a glimpse of Pan Bai Hua in the sea of plum blossoms, he knows this man has been properly imprinted in his heart.

一面思量，他脚下步履不停，不久便到了香雪海。

Mild spoilers on the ending incoming.......

The author wrote an extra chapter set in modern times and gave the reincarnated PBH/QM their happy ending. While I appreciated having that extra chapter on my first reading, years later I preferred the original ending. While they cared deeply for each other and recognized that this person was the only one to truly know me, it doesn’t change the fact that they were from opposing camps. Well, PBH tried to force QM to change sides but they were always ones who walked their chosen path till the end. 

I’m not sure if there are English translations out there of this author’s novels, they are really well written wuxia works. Not explicitly BL but many ‘bosom friends’ bonds.......

On current reading materials, I finished 嫁���绔 the novel that upcoming (maybe??) cdrama Chang Feng Du 长风渡 is based on. Really enjoyed the story and the host of characters from mains to villains, so fingers crossed that the drama gets to air and hopefully the script writers don’t mangle the story. I got started on another novel 山河枕 (Mountain and River Pillow) by the same author but got bored around chapter 55. The ML isn’t doing anything for me so far, I’m actually more interested in the ex-husband hahaha. Maybe I should try 四嫁 instead where the ex-husband is the ML! 

Please throw novel recommendations my way, especially wuxia ones. I have a 12 hour flight and week long work retreat coming up zzzzzz

hello hello! we just got the time to reply ;; tbh uni was. very boring today but at least we're home now!

we have our own separate little headspaces where we can just chill, express our emotions or just dissociate jsdkssk

QM's world is the biggest one, but we don't really know what's going on there, when we described it to our therapist, she said it sounds a lot like something you would see in a post-apocalyptic or a dystopian movie. just empty streets, gray skies, everything looks destroyed or abandoned.

cherry is based on yuno (though she mostly just has her personality and their looks aren't even that similar) and her headspace looks a lot like the room from the tear drop mv! very pretty, very comfy. (except it's so comfy that we can't even ask her to front when we need her because she just goes "nope :3". girl come on!!!)

honey's world is very small and it's just a tiny dark room full of toys. there's also a bed and a window and you can see that it's raining outside, but i honestly don't know anything else about it. it does sound a little sad, but she said that even though it can feel lonely sometimes, she finds it comforting in some way and it helps her understand her feelings better.

my headspace/inner world mostly just looks a lot like my irl room and winter doesn't have one yet and she's not sure how to create it and what it would even look like. we have one more headmate too (though we possibly have more) and we asked her what she would want her world to look like and she just went "mushroom room :)". so. mushroom room.

Transcendental logic is a thing. Systems of logic may be constructs or something but some things are truer than true.

The premise that nothing is more fundamental than something is actually a logical proposition that begs the question by presupposing logic. So it's the opposite of a tautology, it's wronger than wrong.

It's not like it's an easy task to reason into the standard model from first principles but basically existence is more primitive than non-existence in a sense. So something has to exist, whether it's the universe or not is a different question. But it doesn't seem that far fetched that our cosmology is an entailment of something transcendental.

There's also different kinds of real; in a sense preons are mathematically real, but i don't think they're physically real.

Fermi paradox: to some degree the rare earth/sun hypotheses contribute to the effect (so the average distance between civilizations like 10 parsecs instead of 1), but the bulk of it comes down to two things: it sucks to get beaned by a grain of sand going a significant portion of the speed of light, and machines in the vacuum like to do things like grow tin whiskers, cold weld, quantum tunnel into short circuiting, and over the time scales it takes to go 10 or so stars away without exploding to dust, just rot from other quantum effects. The voyager disc probably won't even be recognizable by the time it reaches anything of note assuming we don't recapture one of them.

Space is also probably dustier than we give credit. Not dark matter levels but enough that sending machines across stellar distances probably doesn't go well.

Even if they did make contact with radio or something most civilizations lose interest because a) most of what we have in common we'll have figured out by then b) establishing a communication system with a century long lag is a draaag

Today is the last day of 2022 and I thought that I should write something to end the year off. What better way to end this year with posts about the games I am playing for the year? 

I will be splitting the posts into three parts else it will get very long. This post will focus on the games I have stopped playing for various reasons. I will provide a rating at the end of each game, and do note that all of the remarks and comments, including the ratings, are my personal opinion.

1️⃣ King’s Raid

Those of you who have read some of my posts would know that I constantly talked about this game. 

This game is about a young squire who went out to search for his older brother, who was sent on an expedition to eradicate demons but failed to return. That journey turned into something much more than the squire anticipated. Players will go through the story with the squire and his friends to learn more about the past and what his destiny is. 

The game is absolutely beautiful. You see the designs in the picture up there? It is exactly the same you will get in the game itself. The graphics and special effects will blow you away. The story itself is also captivating.

But why did I stop playing if it sounds like such a wonderful game?

Well... The game is just too difficult. This game forces you to pay attention 100% of the time to every battle. You will need to know when to apply certain skills, counter attack, defend, or even block attacks coming from the enemies. It may be fun for the pro-players but for casual players like myself, it is absolute nightmare.

I really love the graphics and such, but the story battles just makes me want to rip the phone apart some times. 

I would say that this game is way too advanced for casual players like myself. Even if there are guides available to show you the best way to build your Heroes, it is not a 100% guarantee that you will be able to pass through the stories with ease. Unfortunately, although I did enjoy the game, I had to stop playing it due to the amount of frustration I had with this game.

Rating: 5 ⭐/10

TLDR: Game is gorgeously beautiful but too difficult and advanced for casual players.

2️⃣ Tower of Fantasy

This game was very short-lived 😂

The thing about this game is that people are saying it is an imitation of Genshin Impact. But there are also people saying that it is not. 

Anyway, I am not here to debate about that. I believed this game did not managed to capture the players as much as it could. The only thing that really captivated players was the character creation page.

Otherwise, it was simply a game that is... meh.

I have only played it once and after I logged out of the game, I never went back to it. Moreover, I feel that the character movements in the game can be better improved. I get that not all companies have great technology, yet, small indie companies seems to be doing a better job in their motion graphics than this game.

I think that this game has potential but the developers needs to think of something that would hold players interest, apart from the character creation page. 

Rating: 3⭐/10

TLDR: Only the character creation page is the most interesting part of the game.

3️⃣ Atelier Online

I love anime. And when this game came out, I was thinking to myself, I must get that game!

But after a while, it starts to get boring...

The game follows a young alchemist, also the protagonist of the game, on her alchemy journey. The game is absolutely beautiful but every rose has its thorns.

Firstly, the maps to explore is too small. You will find yourself repeatedly going through the same areas countless times because you have yet to unlock another part of the map. 

Secondly, I feel that the stories leading up to the chapter where we can finally leave the school grounds took way too long. 5 chapters may not seem like much but when you actually go through the story, it is very long. 

Thirdly, I feel that it is redundant to have a gacha shop in the game if you need to pay some real money in order to use it. What I meant is that you need the in-game gems to pull on the gacha, but the game doesn’t really let you earn the gems easily. If you really want to pull, you will need to pay some money. 

I feel like the game could have done better. I know the focus is on the story but the requirement to unlock the next chapter is quite grinding. 

Rating: 4 ⭐/10

TLDR: Nice beautiful game but eventually becomes boring

4️⃣ World Flipper

I was a high scorer in pinball games. And I also love anime. When this game came to my attention, I was thinking, why didn’t I know about this earlier?

I was not expecting a pixelated game but that is something I can overlook because PINBALL. But what I was not expecting is the flippers.

The game does not allow you to control the flippers separately!!!

I understand that the “easy” mode is to control both flippers together. Meaning that with one tap on your screen, both left and right flippers will hit the ball together. But not all “easy” modes are easy.

For me, I prefer to be able to control the flippers individually. Meaning a tap on the left side of the screen controls the left flipper, while a tap on the right side of the screen controls the right flipper. 

I have scoured through the entire settings of the game, even googled how I can control the flippers individually, but there was no option for me to do so ☹️

Then I thought, perhaps I’m just too used to my method and maybe I will get the hang of it after a few rounds. NO. IT DID NOT GET BETTER. 

I lost more balls than I did in my old pinball games. 

I am also not a big fan of pixelated games but I am willing to overlook it in this game yet not allowing us to have the option to control the flippers individually has made me throw this game into the gutter.

Rating: 4⭐/10

TLDR: It would have been a lot better if the game has an option to let us choose how we want to control the flippers.
