I didn't watch the live again because i know I'd not have any theory.

But since you mentioned jimin saying the call being "sudden" one thing i know about jimin is he doesn't like doing things suddenly. For example every jimin live he's done a year or two back has been planned for weeks in advance, he never goes live like impulsive thought he does things after thinking it thoroughly. despite being in maknae line jungkook and taehyung are kinda two who do things impulsively like if they feel like it they'll do it without much thinking too much the outcome like we know jungkook's all those late night lives. Jimin doesn't do that. He's very conscious of the things they say or do in front of fans so he might worry that someone will say things they shouldn't etc. That time when s/o asked him about dumpling fight he was like I'd have to talk with tae first (if i remember correctly that's what happened) because he doens't really gives too much details that shouldn't be said in front of fans. Compare the rainy day fight that jm described vs how jk described it and you'll see jm's story telling is surface level he doesn't go too much into detail whereas jk would tell with a bit more details.

As a jm biased let me say this that idol jimin is very conscious of things he presents, things he says, things he does. He doesn't like sudden things. I remember him saying to yoongi that "you can never beat me at being an idol" and that's true because idol jimin is a textbook idol. Everything perfect. He likes presenting it that way. Maybe that's why a sudden phone call made him feel a bit worried because he doesn't know what V might ask/say etc. he doens't like giving ppl reasons to talk negatively about them be it him as an individual or his friendship with any member.

Jimin is indeed very careful, level-headed, reasonable, and always thinks before doing things.

And it's perfectly understandable and yes he is a good idol.

But what can't help but sadden me a lot, is that part of the reason for it in my opinion comes from trauma.

It has not been always the case.

When he was younger, he was way more spontaneous and carefree.

I mean, people grow up of course, that's normal. But back then he had to put himself in a box, in a persona that didn't fit his true self. He got put down for who he was. There was a point where he was struggling with body image, and most likely self-esteem image. Also navigating the fact he was queer. You think of Lie, you think of Promise, Jimin told us he was having a hard time. I think he has been through a lot overall for real. He also has the habit of taking care of everyone around him, putting everyone above himself.

Not only that, Jimin got an insane amount of hate online, and since then he mostly disappeared from social media.

Being an idol had a great cost to Jimin and his journey has been far from ideal.

So the fact he feels the need to be perfect now, so careful of everything, I think it comes from fear more than anything else. Fear of being hurt again.

(Which, again, understandable.)

He grew up too fast, and gave himself many responsabilities that he still feel he needs to uphold today. He has a great sense of duty and a will to make everyone comfortable.

I think unkowingly he puts a lot of pressure on his own shoulders.

He is not the heart of BTS for nothing.

I admire his qualities, and I understand his reasons, and I want him to do what feels right.

But knowing all the hardships he has been through, and seeing the way he's trying to protect himself, you have no idea how sad it makes me.

Because he shouldn't have to. He shouldn't have to do this.

He should feel comfortable as an artist to be free and to express himself however he wishes, like Jungkook who doesn't give a fuck.

But no, Jimin cares. It's not the same and it never will be.

Because whatever Jimin does will be scrutinized, and everything will be held against him no matter what.

Jimin is the most hated member in this fandom. Also one of the most loved, weirdly.

But Jimin makes people react in such extreme ways, that if he's not careful he could unleash absolute hell upon himself.

And I find it so fucking unfair.

I don't want him to be perfect. I don't want him to try to uphold an impossible standard, all the time (how tiring that must be), I don't know, I just want him to be happy? And to be free? But is that even possible?

I don't think so given the circumstances.

I just want to hug him and tell him that none of it has been his fault and that he doesn't always have to be the responsible one.

And that makes me very glad that there is someone like Jungkook to take care of him, too. So he doesn't have to carry this incessant burden all the time. Sometimes he can drop it.

Jimin is such a beautiful and wonderful person. And it makes me so sad that he shines so much so that people feel the need to snuff that light out because it triggers them.

I hate that Jimin has suffered from it.

And I hate the consequences of that hurt which is the way he acts today.

(It's not that I hate the way he acts, I hate he had to suffer in the first place and adapt because of it)

I feel like his choice has been stripped away from him and I hate it.

His last letter makes me wonder what he is thinking about his future, and him saying he wants to be more free can lead to a different approach. Time will tell.

I have sinned, I admit it. Could not wait to next week for my book to arrive and went and read the spoiler pages.

The way they talk about that trip.

We get confirmation that it was ever ONLY about the two of them.

We get confirmation that this trip meant EVERYTHING to them.

Not like we didn't know that already. But it's nice to hear it once again from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

The joy JK got from those little supposedly insignificant moments. Staying up all night because JM was looking through his phone, walking the streets and JM's feet hurting.

Do we see the connecting thread here?

Well, beyond it all being about the one person he also made the star of his creation - JM.

It's all about the mundane!!

They got to be a couple. Alone. Outside of their idol lives. Well, tried their best. And the gift of anonymity with their Halloween costumes. This was just what they needed.

So this trip, it wasn't about a start of a relationship (let's be real, they were 2 years into the relationship at that point). This trip was about them trying to be 'normal' human beings, a 'normal' couple, doing the 'normal' things couples do. No security, no managers, no fans (well they wanted that). Just being themselves together doing the mundane.

All of this isn't happening in a vacuum either. It's happening when they are struggling with their fame and life decisions (some of which were made when they were very very young).

Mundane.

A word I mentioned before too.

Because that's what gave them joy in this trip.

Because discovering that everything you felt for each other also survives that test, the test of being a 'regular', 'normal' couple. That is EVERYTHING.

Take all of that and add the effort that JK went to with arranging the trip. Paying for it. The timing (just almost their 2 year anniversary), the room number choice.

So yes, we get the significance of GCFT. And the significance of it's release date: 8/11/2017.

I absolutely adore these young men.

I am still to read the book. Can't wait. I'm sure there will be more to add. But at this point, from the few pages shared, I think it's also safe to say that 2018 issues were not about their relationship. Far from it.

They were struggling with themselves. Adjusting to stardom. As much as they wanted the success, as much as they wanted it all, when that dream became a reality is when it hit them that being a star, being famous, being successful, it comes with a price. And that price is at times hard to accept, hard to digest, hard to adjust to and to some impossible to live with. And that is what they were going through. What next? How far? How long? How much? Is this what I really want to do with my life? What price? Is it worth the price? Each of them dealing with it in their own way. JM and JK there for each other, helping each other through it all.

Your jaw dropped. Hybrid? It can’t be… Right?

“When hybrids stay in their animal counterpart’s form for too long, their body would start to fight and that’s when they would experience what your ‘cat’ is currently experiencing. It is called, hybrid withdrawal symptoms.” 

You honestly couldn’t believe what you were hearing. 

“I have called for emergency transportation to a hybrid hospital called, JM Hybrid Hospital. I’ve referred you to one of the doctors over there and I promise that he will be in good hands.”

Numbly, you nodded to what she said until, “Wait, what? I’m not going with him?”

Dr Park looked up from your kitty, “Would you like to go with him?”

You nodded vigorously. “Please, if I am allowed. Please.”

“It is most definitely allowed, Ms L/N. But forgive my concern, there have not been many owners whose pets were hybrid and when they found out, they wanted nothing to do with them.” 

Oh. 

“No, no. I would never! Hybrid or pet, they’re still beings.”

She nodded. Paramedics barged into the room and took your kitty into their arms, bringing him away from you. 

“Wait.” One of the paramedics stopped. “She’ll go with you. I’ll send Dr. Park the stats in a while.”

He nodded. “Come on, let’s go.”

You followed them down to the ER section and into an ambulance. 

The whole ride there was sated in awkward silence, the paramedics doing their best to keep your kitty stable and conscious while you just sat there, staring at his limp body. You felt so useless and so, so bad.

If only I found it earlier. If only…

“He will be fine, the hospital is only about ten minutes away from here. He’s symptoms are not that bad yet, he should be treatable.” 

All you could do then was nod. 

When you finally pulled up to the ER of JM Hybrid Hospital, it felt like an hour’s drive. The paramedics quickly rushed out and you followed closely, nurses navigating them to empty rooms. 

“How serious is it?” One nurse asked, checking your kitty’s blood pressure and body temperature. 

A doctor came out, tag reading - 

“Please, I didn’t know. Can he be cured? Can you do something?” You latched on to his coat. 

The doctor looked at you sympathetically. “Of course.” He nodded. “From the notes that the clinic has sent me, he is not yet in an extremely critical condition. Curable, but it will be a tough road.” 

The doctors scanned you from head to toe. “I take it you are his owner?” You numbly nodded, wanting the question to stop and the treatments to start. 

“Right, I will need you to help me fill in these forms.” He handed you a whole set of documents and a pen while simultaneously pushing you out of the room. 

“Wait -”

“You can’t be in there when the doctors are doing their work, Ma’am.” A nurse held you back. “Dr. Park needs these documents in. Could you finish and pass them over?”

You looked at the nurse and then back a set of work in your arms. You found an empty seat and sat down, starting to complete the information inside. You never really knew his real name so you put ‘Kitty’ in the box. You never knew paperwork was suddenly so hard to complete.

“Erm,” You called out to the receptionist. “I don’t really know anything so most of it is empty.” You scratched the back of your neck, embarrassed. 

The reception lady - Nurse Ling Hui, it read - nodded her head. “All’s good. Though I have some information for you. From the blood test that went through over at the previous clinic, your hybrid is a black-market registered hybrid. He is one of the hybrids that came up on the recent news.”

“What do you mean?”

Ling Hui slowed down, “It means that he will be under the close watch of police officers to ensure his safety as he is a wanted hybrid in the black market and it is not a good thing. People selling hybrids there are known to be ruthless in what they do.”

You slumped down. Ling Hui walked around the desk and placed a hand on your shoulder. “By the way, his name is Yoongi. Min Yoongi. He is a 29-year-old hybrid, mixed breed.” She held out a folder. “Here are some reports in the system that we can collate. Would you like to take a look?” 

Just as you were about to take it from her hands, your head whipped at the heart-wrenching scream that came from your kitty - Yoongi’s - room. You made a move to run over when Ling Hui held you back, shaking her head. “Let the doctors do what they need to. With you in there will only make things more difficult.”

You took a deep breath and took the folder from her hands, sitting on a chair that faces the room. The screams went on for a minute or two and then stopped, a minute or two and stopped. Just when it hit the 15-minute mark, you couldn’t take it anymore and dashed right in. 

A guard held you back as you fought to be let through. Yoongi’s screams hit every one of your bones as you fought harder and harder. “Let me through! Please!” You yelled, tears streaming down your face. “Stop, stop. Don’t hurt him!”

The doctors came out, seeing your distressed state saying, “Let her in, we’re taking a break for now anyways. Continue going and he might actually pass out for real.”

The guards let go of you and you immediately rushed into a sight you never want to see again. 

Yoongi was exhausted - so, so exhausted. He didn’t want to shift. If he shifted, he would definitely be sold off again. Subconsciously, he could feel the spasming of his muscles and shift of bones, fighting against the doses that the doctors had induced him with.

God, he was so tired. 

He closed his eyes, hoping for the pain to subside when he felt the gentlest kisses between his ears. He knew exactly who those kisses belonged to and he let out a pained meow - from the pain but also because he felt his fur getting wet. 

Why were you crying?

It hurts his heart more than holding back shifts to know that you were crying. Yoongi lifted his head as much as he could, being strapped to the table. 

“I’m so sorry.” You sniffled, head in between his ears and tears flowing down his fur, “I’m so sorry I didn’t know.”

Why were you sorry?

Yoongi tilted his head up, licking off the tears that were cascading down your cheeks, hoping that the action would bring a smile to your face like it did the first time he did so. And he was right. But it was not the bright eyes and teasing smile. This time, it was pained. You moved away from him as his tongue chased your cheeks, still trying to wipe off the tears. 

Where were you going? Hey, please come back… Please - Oh - 

You had unbuckled the straps that had confined him onto the table and his limbs twitched slightly, hissing at the pain they gave him. You had made your way back to where his head lay, stroking his matted fur with gentle hands. If you keep going, he was really going to fall asleep. He was already this close- this close - to purring. 

“Come on, kitty.” He was sure you already knew his name though - “Come on. I know you don’t want to shift but please? I don't know why and I don't ever want to understand why because that is your experience. I could never phantom even 30% of it. But you’re getting really, really sick and,” You sobbed. “And I still need you. How am I going to go home to an empty house now?”

Yoongi was really sleepy and really tempted but - 

“Please, please, please. Kitty - Yoongi - please?”

Hearing his name on your lips, god he had wished for this day but not in this way - 

Oh, perhaps he could make an exception.

ok I know you said you don’t like to compare ships or bring negativity so I hope it’s ok to ask this but even though I love ym moments sometimes I wonder if they are really different from the other ships. I’m sure jm has had dinner w the other members too for instance. When I something happens w ym I get excited but then I see people (usually other shippers) saying it happens w others too. It makes me wonder if we’re making a big deal out of something that’s just normal between friends. So I guess my question is what makes ym different?

Hi anon! So…just to clarify, and then I promise I’ll get around to your question:

The reason I don’t like comparing ships is that I think that many times when people do this, they end up debunking (or trying to debunk) the friendship instead. And I’m not ok with that. The guys have talked so much about how close they all are and how eager they are to reunite. There are actual, visible actions they’ve taken that demonstrate their commitment, from the 7 tattoos to the timing of their enlistments, etc. That said, of course I’ve given thought to these things in terms of comparing dynamics, I just don’t see the need to share it. That wouldn’t be fun for me to write about (or fun for people to read), so what’s the point? People are free to believe what they want without me raining on their parade.

As for why yoonmin is special, in my opinion: throughout Ch 2, which I consider to have started with Festa in June 2022, not once have Yoongi or Jimin said to each other “hey! I haven’t seen you/talked to you in awhile!” Not once have they talked about how they keep meaning to hang out but haven’t found the time. Not once in two years and seven months. 956 days. Wow, right?

Instead, we have gotten consistent reminders—both from them and from others—that they see each other often. They go out to dinner. They go out for drinks. They work out together. They talk on the phone. They have mutual friends.

All of the members are close, but we do see a difference in terms of how much time they spend together. This is something the members have talked about more than once. Go back and look at Hobi’s answer when asked about this during a live in (I think) 2022. He basically listed who he sees most often and who he sees less. Jimin’s interview on the Tonight Show is another example of this. When asked, he didn’t say he sees all of the members equally. He gave an answer: Hobi and Yoongi the most, although of course he’s in touch with all of them. There are other examples too. The point is the members do not all spend time together in identical ways or in identical amounts, and we know this for a fact because they’ve told us.

Friendships vary; some friends see each other often, some don’t but they still remain close. However, there is less variance in this regard when it comes to romantic relationships, in which consistency is key.

I can’t imagine how busy they were prior to starting their military service. Yoongi’s tour ended in August 2023, and he started his service the next month! Jimin spent most of Ch 2 preparing not one but two solo albums, plus filming a travel show. Yet yoonmin found time for each other, and I bet what we know is only the tip of the iceberg.

Of course, I see other differences too when it comes to comparing ships. With yoonmin, there are patterns that go back years. But to me, Ch 2 has really offered clarity. We can never know the exact nature of their relationship. There isn’t much point in arguing about it because I think it’s likely we’ll never know. There will never be a “winner.” All we can do is appreciate what they share with us and celebrate their close bond. 💛

Hahahahahah! Sure will scold if it reaches to that. Just kidding but point isn't only about jokers. It's aslo about armys in general. We are really expecting rational thinking from people which I'm sorry to say is not a cup of tea for everyone. Leaving aside a few, don't ask but observe how fandom responsonds to these two ships and these three in general. This may offend some people but majority of fandom is sheeps here. If company shows them taekook are not longer close they believe it, no one bothers about weird angle and set captions. It's not even about believing them as couple but if such a beloved pair seems distant on screen and together backstage there must be something wrong with what is portrayed. Right? But all of these are cult talks for them. Company tells them jkk are always together, share cars and stuff, now this narrative floats and people think it as nature's law. But there is another factor i.e. Taehyung. He is shown to be aloof and not caring of members especially Jungkook. Remember wings tour and JK's injury. Perfect set up for hate. See these things may look small and insignificant but the consistency affects you subconsciously. Result is Tae is most hated and gets the harsher treatment, Jungkook is always hyped but can't get above BTS and Jimin is an angel who needs to be protected.

It's not like JKk became this cult in a day. They were as normal as any other ship (obnoxious yes, but normal). In fact at a time, it was tkkrs who went beyond limits trying to prove their ship when content was lacking in comparison. But this subtle but constant feeding by the company created this cult what we see today. Why do you think most armys prefer Jkk and can come out as Tae anti. Nobody joined fandom deciding this. Now, how does this effect beside member getting hate? They will always move for someone who think is a victim. It affects others image outside fandom, affect charts and opportunities in the long run. Now in this case you decide who is their perceived victim. Why do they do this? Because they want to feel good about themselves. Classic psychology 101.

You may say but a large part of the fandom is not on social media and stan Twitter are more voiced but sorry to say in today's world most voiced is most heard. No one has time for truth. The way armys are working for Jimin they should have worked for everyone. If someone comes and tells me, but every member gets hate, yeah, but not like Tae, I am sure everyone has seen the demo recently.

My whole point is no one gets bersek, they are made like that when they are promised to be fed which company always been doing it and unfortunately Tae will be set up for more hate. I also understand your point that it is an individual responsibility to check themselves but people really understimate external influence and mass opinions.

Sorry for the long text wall but I just wanted to keep my point how company is marketing without thinking of consequences it brings for some of its members or maybe knowing that (who knows with them).

P.S. I don't know if you have ever read works of Daniel Kahneman. He got nobel prize for theory of irrationality which sounds obvious but people understimate it.

Let me preface this by saying I am fully convinced that Jk and Jm are genuine close friends. I've gotten a lot of asks from Jkkrs and neutrals (presumably neutrals...?) talking about how us mentioning company content is automatically undermining Jm and Jk's friendship. It is not. Everyone who has watched reality shows (outside of bts fandom) knows how a narrative can be created. Everything we see in offical content has been a choice, even backstage footage we've seen has been a choice. To think that BH isn't aware of that, or chooses to not follow those tactics is naive. There's things they want us to see and there's things they do not want us to see. They show us more Jkk because that is what they want us to see, they show us less Tkk because they don't want us to see.

So I agree with you that there's a certain idea they wanted to get across. I am pretty convinced the company wanted us to believe Tae and Jk were distant. I am very convinced that they never were. I'd even go as far as to say the company is glad that Jkk balances out Tkk in a way. I'd not go as far as to say they want people to actually believe Jk and Jm are together.

The way I've always seen it is that I think they company gives the incentives, and lets fandom take over from there. They pair Jk and Jm up, they focus on them, we get a lot of JmJk moments.. so it's easy for Jkkrs to build on that. I don't actually feel that Jk and Jm have a romantic feel about them, and I think outside Jkkrs people would agree. So basically I think the company just counts on Jkkrs to do the hard work here.

I do blame the company for how it turned out. I think it's safe to say that the extreme hate Tae gets comes from how they've handled this. Tae is called an attention seeker, a leach, a queer baiter.. all sorts of things, and that comes from people believing Tae and Jk aren't actually as close as they are. I think people hating on Jm also comes from the same root. Because Jm does get a lot of hate from Tkkrs who have picked up on how hurt Tae got by seeing Jkk at times. It is certainly unfair and I think it has caused a lot of damage. It is no wonder that Jk is so protective.

I agree that the company wants this ship to thrive. It's good for business. They have a duo with great, genuine chemistry... and they definitely make use of it. I agree that they should have put more boundaries on it though, because I think at this point it has gone too far and it actually hurts Tae, Jm, and Jk. I'm not sure if they can put a stop at it though, unless they would say to Jm and Jk.. no, you can't do this and you can't do that, because Jkkrs have to be put to a hold. I think Jm and Jk wanted to do the travel show, and I do not want them to hold back because of some insane part of fandom. I believe Tae, Jm and Jk would have talked about things like this, and I think they put their friendship and freedom to interact as they want before fandom. Imo, that's how it should be.

Having said that, and yes I'm being glass half full here, I fully expect the travle show to have continueous debunking moments. That is basically what we always see. Jkkrs are going to brush over it ofcourse. But I fully expect to see mentions that point out how Jk and Jm are just friends. Close, connected, cuddly, caring friends.. but friends indeed.

I think them being distant in June/July 2023 and them enlisting together in December 2023 is quite possible and can make sense, depending on how their relationship evolves during the next episodes. Let's just say that Jimin and Jungkook once were a couple but then broke up when the band went on hiatus to focus on their own lives and careers but with the promise to stay friends. Staying friends somehow didn't work, so that created tension between them. Which Jimin intended to fix. So he flew to New York to get Jungkook to travel with him to maybe smooth out the problems between them. But at this point Jungkook probably was harbouring some petty feelings towards Jimin and Jimin might have also felt a bit awkward, hence the car conversation. These feelings don't just disappear, so we had two episodes of them being less... gentle with each other. But by the time their trip ended, they started to understand how to be friends again. Because even if they were a couple at one point, they still were friends before that. Close friends. But they needed some time to understand how to act as friends again. I think step by step they started to repair their friendship after their trip to Conneticut. Exactly what Taekook also did in 2020 after their ITS talk. The damage cannot be healed in just a couple of days but they made the first big step during the first part of their travel show. We'll see how they'll act in Jeju, especially with Tae around. Maybe this time Tae will act like a matchmaker, the same way Jimin did for Taekook in 2020. (Although I have to admit I'm very nervous about the Jeju episode. Depending on how big Tae's part will be and if Jungkook might even ditch Jimin for Tae, this could go very horribly wrong.) I think by the time they went to Sapporo things were back to a pretty normal level. In their last live as four, Jungkook was extremely attentive towards Jimin. Comforting him about the hair, making sure Jimin knows it's ok to eat and massaging Jimin's neck as a way to give him some comfort. (Although am I the only one who noticed that Jimin seemed kind of surprised by Jungkook's touchiness?) I don't think they're a couple anymore. But I think they found their way to be friends again.

This is a theory I could get behind. Obviously, we're all speculating.

I would also like to add that even if JK and JM were ever just friends and never really broke up, this trip was for real special for them, because it was their last chance to spend some time together before being separated for 2 years (even if the planned to enlist together, in July the wouldn't be sure yet) and possibly repair their friendship, if we go with the narrative about them having distance in first part of 2023.

I fully admit that I also am nervous about the Jeju episodes. I know no matter what Taekooker will hate on JM bc they can create a moment or narrative out of thin air and straws, but I at least hope they don't get any real ammunition to use against him.

i actually wanted to make a post about how taekookers, some armys, jinkookers, yoonminers are making those tweets about as to how jm and jk enlisting through buddy program means they're not dating and how gay couples can't enlist in military without exposing themselves and i actually found this thread and IT IS hillarious specially coming from taekookers out of all people.

At some point Taehyung MIGHT have talked about the enlistment with jungkook too and we might never know about it (like I'm open for this option too) but what remains as the fact is that even if jungkook couldn't join special force like tae, tae had all the options/choices to get into Buddy program with jungkook and be together till discharge yet it's jm and jk who's in ms now and nothing anyone says can change that fact. So the "tk couldn't be together because of tattoes and they had no option" is a complete lie so get over it.

using Buddy program gives you no privilege cause you're simply gonna serve in one of the most dangerous area that is frontline so it would be helpful for everyone if they they accept that the boys know what they're doing and move along with it. y'all should be happy that atleast they have someone with them to rely on in the difficult times of their life.

I feel like I'm the only one who is on board with the rdj casting and I will be here thumping my chest if it works out. I will also go in hiding if it flops . To me it makes sense because aside from Jonathan Majors being a weirdo, the first movie introducing Kang to the audience flopped critically, with the audience and at the box office for marvel standards (antman). If JM was normal I could see them maybe begrudgingly continuing with that story line but his case gave Kevin a chance to wipe the slate. This is him taking a risk without taking a risk, it might not work out but its guaranteed that people will pay to watch rdj at the movies. So if the story is wobbly hey at least they made their coin. I for one can't wait to see how it plays out.
