1. royai collections - rated: m. just a big ol’ collection of royai oneshots grouped together. idk how i ended up with 100 chapters of random oneshots haha i never imagined i would get that far w them but it’s so Neat seeing all of them compiled together

2. the way it was - rated: m. family royai, royai!kid, canon divergence, “what if riza never joined the military”. my babie. my child. this was a long process to work through but it was so much fun to play about with canon events where royai are married, have a kid, and how much things may change for them both. i think this is the one i’m most proud of overall. so much effort was poured into it. for years this fic was an idea i wanted to tackle and i’ve never felt peace and satisfaction quite like it when i wrapped it all up at the end

3. let you love me - rated: t. family royai, royai!kid, modern au. another one that is dear to me and has been for a long time. i have a playlist for this fic and whenever i listen to it i’m taken right back to the late summer/autumn i worked on it. the vibes are exquisite. this au was pure self indulgence, giving riza a kid and having roy move in next door to them both and royai slowly falling in love <3

4. hit and run - rated: m. historical au, enemies to lovers, basically riza being kickass and amazing w a Neat slowburn, if i do say so myself :)) this is another one i love to pieces and it comes a v v v close second to being my absolute fave story i’ve ever written. the idea was sparked by a trip into edinburgh old town’s ~haunted~ vaults and it was such a joy to write and draw on that experience for the setting. the vibes were perfect

5. closer - rated: t. ~drama central~. this ended up being much more popular than i imagined it would be lol i wanted to dabble in the OC, Jealous Girlfriend trope bc why not and sometimes we all need a wee bit of melodrama in our fic reading/writing lives <3

Do you reply to comments, why or why not? yes!! i love reading comments and people’s thoughts on what i’ve written omg they make my day every time. i want them to know their kindness is v much appreciated. even if it takes a while for me to get round to it bc of life, i will defo reply eventually!

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? hmm idk i think all my fics are angst w a happy ending at the very least, apart from a few hurt/no comfort oneshots. for multi-chaptered fics i always tend to go with the happy ending. idk if i would have it in me to write a really angsty ending for a long fic haha

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending? hmm. there’s a few haha. probably the majority of my multichapter fics. so, i’ll choose the happiest fic in general, which has to be my inferno. pure, happy vibes and good times. singer riza killing it and pursuing her dreams while famous bf roy is nothing but supportive and her biggest fan

Do you write crossovers? If so, what's the craziest one you've ever written? no, i have not yet dabbled in a full blown crossover but idk if i ever will

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? hmmm i would say txf royai au but. i’ve not even started it yet ;___; i really want to tho i just know it will take A Lot and i just. don’t have it in me atm. or the time in general. however, i am determined and won’t be so easily beaten. that’s another project i’ve wanted to do for years so one day i’ll get there

What are your writing strengths? i think writing soft royai. people seem to like my soft royai fics :’) and writing aus. i really enjoy working on aus and creating a new world for royai to run around in and be in love. i would like to think the worlds and plots are interesting enough for me to consider them a strength haha

What are your writing weaknesses? hmmMMM. (there’s a few but) descriptions of places the characters are in i feel like i lack a lot, but i am aware of it and if i was to tackle a big/long plot again that would be something to focus on improving. i could defo include more introspection but also. sometimes i just need to work w the vibe and not go that deep. it takes a lot out of me, however, i just need to practice!

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? i’ve never done it but i have been learning scottish gaelic for the last year and a half and i would love to be able to incorporate it in a fic somehow, but idk if it will ever be able to tie w a royai au haha. idk maybe i’ll just rewrite canon w them all speaking scottish slang that’ll be easy enough. edward elric @ truth: square go mate. @ viz media hmu for that translation anytime

What’s your favourite fic you’ve written? hmmm for the longest time it was let you love me and while i still love it, i think it’s been beaten by the way it was and hit and run. i really can’t pick between the two of them. i’m a simple gal, i love riza and royai!family <3

I’m probably going to instantly regret making this post but it’s four in the morning and also I desperately want to talk to people about these things.

This is just. Copypasted from my AU list page. Some stuff might be outdated in a week. Who knows. Not me.

Star Vs The Forces of Evil:

Monster Carvers (link) - Main Star Vs AU. Stomco endgame + Tom stays with Marco + Star raised by Monsters (specifically Buff Frog). The titular antagonists were originally going to disappear after the prologue what the heck happened???

Pretty Cure vs the Forces of Evil (link) - Exactly What It Says On the Tin, Pretty Cure x Star Vs.

unnamed Pirate AU - Star Butterfly has a perfectly nice, unbearably boring life as a high-class lady, with little to do other than wait to be married to her arranged fiancé that she’s never even met. A week before her wedding she sneaks on board a shipping vessel in the hopes of having an adventure. She gets a little more adventure than she bargained for when the ship is attacked by pirates.

How to Train Your Dragon:

Outsiders (link) - Main HTTYD AU. Instead of watching the entire Berk fleet sail off to their dooms with Toothless, Hiccup and Astrid free the arena dragons and take Toothless while he’s being brought to the ship and then they all get the heck out of dodge. Dagur accidentally set himself adrift with Heather back when they were both small. Snotlout learns the hard way that being the Heir/responsibility kind of really sucks actually??? Stoick has to deal with his son going rouge. And Gobber and the Berk Teenagers have to deal with Stoick and Snotlout respectively.

Modern Riders/Time Travel AU - Modern!Hiccup is dragged by his cousin into an unwanted camping trip with the other riders and one electrical storm later, they find their cell phones aren’t working any more. Also are those flipping dragons?! On Berk, Stoick and the other vikings are shocked to find a group of teenagers in the woods who bear a shocking resemblance to some of the members of a dead generation of children.

Unsevered Bonds - Modern Riders (minus Hiccup) meet a time displaced Hiccup who recognize them as his reincarnated friends, even if they don’t remember their former lives.

How To Train Your Lusus - Everyone are trolls on Alternia. Hiccup is a brownblood who’s probably the only troll in existence to get a second Lusus (Toothless) after his first one (Stoick) is killed. Astrid is an oliveblood that Hiccup is flushed for, Fishlegs is a yellowblood, Snotlout is a blueblood, the Twins, Dagur, and Heather are all purplebloods. Dagur killed both his and Heather’s lusus so now he’s trying to take care of her even though she absolutely hates him (and not in a black way), and he had an unrequited pitch thing for Hiccup at one point before they flipped pale (and are actually Moirails now). That’s pretty much all I have for this one.

unnamed Harry Potter AU - Does not actually take place at Hogwarts. Everyone attends Dumstrang (possibly) and the topic everyone avoids is Care of Magical Creatures, because the local Dark Lord is Drago Bludvist. Main trio is Hiccup, Snotlout (Pureblood cousins), and Fishlegs (Muggleborn)… somehow.

Dragon Gang (link) - Mob/Mafia AU set in the vaguely 1920s in a Fake Country so no one can call me out on inaccurate geography.

Rebuilding Bridges - Set in a Multiverse where RTTE and The Hidden World are mutuality exclusive. (Pt.1): After dealing with Drago but before dealing with Grimmborn, Hiccup and Toothless once fought a witch intent on ‘harvesting’ dragons. Now ten years after the dragons have left her apprentice seeks revenge and kidnaps Zephyr and Nuffink, and a panicked Hiccup and Astrid are contacted by the Very Retired and Very Much Done With This Kid witch. Meanwhile in the RTTE-verse, The Dragon Riders only just got back from informing Berk about Johann’s treachery, when some crazy lady spontaneously appears in the middle of the Edge with two terrified children she intends to feed to dragons. Yeah, that’s not happening. (Pt.2, spoilers for this AU I guess???): Zephyr and Nuffink and their parents have safely returned to New Berk, but their world has been shaken by what was and could have been. Zephyr and Nuffink, after bonding with Dagur in the other timeline, decide they want to try and help him in theirs. This was perhaps not their best idea. Meanwhile, the Nightlights escape the watchful eye of their parents to go exploring outside the Hidden World, and quickly meet the hatchlings of their dad’s brother! (so… their cousins, then?)

Something Wild (name subject to change) - Several years after Berk (along with most of the Archipelago) is attacked and taken captive by a far more advanced foe, Stoick is able to free most of his people but what he finds when they get manage to regroup back to their island is less than a relief- Berk ravaged and their elderly and children, left behind by their captors, missing. To make matters worse, the dragons are still out there, now with some kind of devils riding and aiding them. Now Stoick, Gobber, and the rest of the people of Berk must find safety and a way to fight back against they’re new foe, find what happened to those who are missing, and figure out who these dragon riders are and whether they’re friend of foe (gee i wonder where the Berkians went and who the dragon riders are golly what a mystery). (aka the feral/semi-feral!dragon riders au i keep trying to create)

Lost (name subject to change) - Alternate attempt at the feral/semi-feral!dragon riders au. Several years before the events of the movie could happen, a raid on Berk not by dragons, but by other people, leads to the destruction of an entire generation when the raiders manage to capture the Teenagers of Berk and ship them away. While in captivity, they meet and ultimately befriend the dragons that in another life would be their partners and together they all escape. Unfortunately, they’re Thor-knows-where, and with no one they can trust (or understand) except each other, getting back to Berk might take a while…

The Lego Movie:

Hero with Two Faces of Yellow - Another ‘Emmet and Rex share a body like Good Cop Bad Cop’ AU

Peacemaker AU - Main Lego AU. About a year after the Duplo aliens attack, Emmet is attacked and presumed dead, but he’s actually been taken by General Mayhem to meet Queen Watevra Wana'bi, who remembered and missed her ‘father’. Later, Rex ends up jumping into an entirely different timeline by accident (this one) and decides to try and play the long game by befriending Emmet, who’s now living in the Systar System. That probably won’t work out for him the way he wanted.

Miraculous Ladybug

MiracuClass Knows AU - Prior to Volpina, each member of the MiracuClass finds out the identities of Ladybug and Chat Noir, and just sort of collectively become their secret keepers. Inspired by Epiphanies by PFTones3582 on Fanfiction.net.

Miraculous Sburb AU - The MiracuClass play Sburb and end up dragging a good chunk of Paris in with them when they enter the Medium. Marinette is a Light player, Adrien is a Doom player, and that’s all I got. Gabriel probably definitely dies.

One Is Silver and the Other Gold - aka the Marikimno Brot3 AU. I headcannon that Marinette, Kim, and Nino were close friends as little kids that drifted apart a few years prior to the start of the show. In this AU, that never happened. Also, Alya becomes Adrien’s best friend instead of Nino, and Nathanel becomes their friend too somehow? (someone help Alya, she’s an extrovert and both her friends have social skill levels in the single digits.)

The Ladybug and the Monkey - Main Miraculous Ladybug AU. My take on the ‘Fu chooses Kim to be the second Miraculous wielder instead of Adrien’ AU that I’ve somehow seen multiple times.

Sleeper Miraculous - AU where instead of the Miraculous being handed out, they’re transported magically to their wielders after they’ve proved themselves somehow. The Miraculous still need to be ‘activated’ by the Guardian to be used on either a permanent or temporary basis, so Ladybug still has to go to Master Fu at first before she becomes the new Guardian, but she knows literally none of the other members of Team Miraculous’s identities. They have a chat group, too, where Ladybug updates team members on whose Miraculous she’s going to activate, and both Chloe and Kagami never blow their identities. Contains both mild Classmates + (even milder)Adrien salt and sugar. (define irony: wanting to punch someone in the face for being an a-hole only to realize that said a-hole is you).

Miraculous! Pretty Cure! - Another Pretty Cure AU. Yep.

Mesapia AU - Butterfly!Marinette AU with a few twists - 1) instead of just facing the villainous user of the Ladybug Miraculous, all of the Miraculous have been lost to villains (save for the rabbit). Marinette frequently empowers her classmates (+Adrien, who’s still under house-arrest in this AU, Luka, and Kagami) to fight the Miraculous Villains, who are also all fighting each other; and 2) This isn’t so much a Kwami Swap as a Kwami Scramble, no one uses their canon Miraculous here (except for Fu briefly, and Emilie had the peacock before what happened to her)!

Boys vs Girls AU (name subject to change) - Marinette vs Lila with the Boys (+Kagami) on Marinette’s side and the Girls on Lila’s.

Labyrinth - Almost the entirety of the MiracuClass go missing (+Lila, Luka, & Kagami, -Chloe) and on a related note, eight very young children wake up in an ever-shifting, monster-filled underground labyrinth and grow up together. And two of them have some special, appearance-shifting jewelry…

Mad Gabriel - Miraculous Ladybug x Mad Father, starring Adrien as Aya, Marinette as Dio, Gabriel as Alfred Drevis, Nathalie as Maria, and everyone else as the doctor’s victims (Lila is Ines).

Miraculous Royal AU - A fantasy AU starring the MiracuClass (shocker) spread out across three fantasy kingdoms.

Quartz Butterfly AU - AU in which Jagged Stone takes the role of (a significantly nicer but still villainous) Hawkmoth as Quartz Butterfly, with Penny taking on Mayura’s role as Songbird. (yes i know peacocks aren’t songbirds SHHHH).

MiracuTrio AU - AU based on fanofanimation’s submission to terrible-miraculous-ladybug-aus, where Kim becomes a permanent member of the team after Party Crasher.

Mitterlicht - horror-ish AU inspired partially by various horror games, Lucidstuck, and Underbright (no, really). After receiving their Miraculous for the first time, the temporary heroes start having less-than-restful nights. Things quickly go from bad to worse when fragmented, panic-inducing dreams turn into nightly (and solitary) trips into a dark world full of monsters that want to take something referred to just as their ‘light’- a bright light that acts as both a beacon to the hostile creatures and the only way to return to consciousness every night -which just so happen to be in the exact spot (and in many cases, are also vaguely the same shape) of their Miraculouses.

Mirakatsu - Aikatsu AU

Ladybug: Don’t Deal With Hawkmoth - (aka the result of listening to the Cuphead Rap Battle 50 million times) Cuphead AU where Ladybug and Chat Noir have to go around beating up akumas and collecting their butterflies to avoid getting akumatized by Hawkmoth.

Miracle Thieves - a phantom/gentleman thief au where Marinette and Adrien (who have been thieves for years) unwittingly steal a pair of magical artifacts and decide to team up afterwards. Includes Fox!Nino, Journalist-determined-to-expose-their-identities!Alya, and possibly Tiger!Markov.

Homestuck:

Merged Sessions AU - An AU where our favorite trolls and the Beta Kids are all part of the same session

Same Side of the Scratch AU - AU where the Beforus Trolls replace the Alternian ones, and when both sessions get scratched the Alternian Trolls end up in communication with the Alpha Kids

Same Side, Same Session AU - Combines both of the two immediately above AUs, The Beta Kids and Beforus Trolls have a session together that fails and gets Scratched, then the Alternians and Alphas play the game together while the pre-scratch players (all alive) travel to their session and have Meteorstuck Shenanigans.

Relief Was Just a Dream (name subject to change) - aka the mandatory Troll Rebellion AU, inspired by a fic I don’t remember the name of on A03. Sweeps after Karkat and Feferi are (seemingly) culled, Ace Legislacerator Terezi Pyrope -one of the best despite knowing she’s one wrong move away from being culled for her disability- is called in to investigate a series of traitorous attacks on more and more ships. Weirdly, the trolls seen most in the attacks don’t even seem to exist, all seem to bleed a painfully familiar cherry red, and have powers that even Her Imperial Condescension doesn’t seem to have. (not a no-game au)

Freetime AU (name subject to change) - AU where Bro leaves Dave on Dad Egbert’s doorstep, and Dave and John grow up as brothers.

Megaman:

Pokemon Network - Hub lives Pokemon AU with at least two protagonist teams. Team A: Lan, Hub, Mayl, Dex & Yai in Kanto. Team B: Roll, Glyde, Gutsman (Gus) in Kalos. What are Chaud and Protoman/Blues up to? ~Secrets~

Sailor Moon:

Inverse Corruption - When Beryl scours the Earth looking for her reincarnated generals she fails to find them, but she does manage to find the senshi instead. Sailor Moon has to unknowingly face the very girls who were supposed to protect her, fighting side-by-side with the Shitennou instead. (the boys are highschoolers to the girls middleschoolers)

Hazbin Hotel:

Infernal Relations - Why did Lucifer and Lilith wait so long to have a child? Simple; they didn’t. Unbeknownst to Charlie, her parents both had and lost a child thousands of years before she was born, a fact that will have far more of an effect on her hotel than she could possibly realize (even if she had known).

Apprentice Charlie AU - AU where Charlie gets into a fight with Lucifer and leaves before she ever thinks to create her hotel and Alastor ends up finding amusement by taking on an apprentice. (inspired by Helluva Teacher by Sol_Victoria on A03)

Phineas and Ferb:

Cursed Cats AU - AU based on the song Black Cats of Halloween. Phineas, Ferb, and their friends are cursed by a demon who turns them into black cats, save for on Halloween night. They’re then thrown into a world of magic and have to find each other, their way back home, and a way to break their curse, preferably in that order.

Danganronpa:

Online Gamer AU - no one dies/non-despair AU where no one is a super/ultra highschool level anything, no one has met each other in person, and they all play Among Us together. Junko always dies first and she’s low-key going to hurt someone over it.

unnamed AU where the murders of the killing game happen differently (aka the mandatory dr au)

unnamed AU inspired by ask-the-dr-reset-kids - After an incident that forces Hope’s Peak to temporarily close it’s doors, Class 78 all transfer to a different school. Junko is in jail, Mukuro is coping, Izuru is looming somewhere, the Ultimate Despair are waiting like sleeper agents to cause the The Most Despair Inducing Event in History, and Makoto is straight up not having a good time (and has very good reasons not to tell anyone).

unnamed AU where both Class 77 and Class 78, including both Junko and Mukuro but without Chiaki end up playing the Killing Game together.

Double Mastermind AU - similar to the above, both Class 77 and Class 78 wake up one day with no memories of their school lives. They’ll have to work together, somehow, to find out where they are, how to get back to civilization, and how to get back their memories. Meanwhile in the control room, Makoto and a sort-of-but-not-really-reformed Junko are working together as the Masterminds behind the mystery. Well, Makoto’s working, anyway. Junko just kind of wants to give Makoto daily migraines. Contains Junko/Makoto hateshipping.

unnamed Taka Lives AU where instead of switching roles with Hiro during the third trial he just manages to survive the murder attempt. He does not, however, get out unscathed…

another unnamed Taka Lives AU where Makoto, at Kyoko’s urging, decides to stay with Kiyondo the night he would have died, throwing a huge wrench into the would-be-blackeneds’ plans.

Asassain!Makoto AU: The Killing School Life - an au where Makoto is secretly the Ultimate Assassin.

Assasain!Makoto AU: The Killing Mystery - au that’s basically the one directly above but takes place in a non-despair (or maybe averted despair would be more accurate) timeline. After receiving and turning down a job to assassinate a certain up-and-coming politician, The Black Mask (Makoto) alerts his would-be victim, an old former friend, that someone is out for his life.

Remnants of Hope AU - AU that takes place after the end of School Mode, with the class not being picked up by the future foundation right away. (does this. does this actually qualify as an au i’m not sure.)

unnamed Class Swap AU

unnamed AU where Makoto and Kiyotaka are brainwashed into Ultimate Despair in addition to Class 77. Contains both sweet and very effed up Naeishi, as well as Despair!Makoto+Izuru friendship (or as close as Izuru can get, anyway). Technically another 2 (or 3, sort of) masterminds au.

Soulmates AU - In a world where most people are colorblind until meeting their soulmate, Makoto Naegi walks into Hope’s Peak Academy colorblind, blacks out, and wakes up to color. As it turns out, the same thing happened to everyone else!

Scrapbook AU - After entering into Hope’s Peak Academy, Makoto started a scrapbook/photo album of himself, his classmates, and eventually even the class above his own during their time on and off school. It soon became a class diary of sorts after being discovered, shared among everyone… then a chronicle of the events leading up to Class 77 going missing, The Tragedy starting, and Class 78 sealing themselves inside the school bunker, before returning to it’s original purpose as Class 78 lived inside their homemade bunker. In canon, Junko found and burned it. In this timeline, it’s an amnesiac Makoto and his classmates who find it, hidden under the floor in Makoto’s room.

Amnesia AU - A boy wakes up in a school(?) with no memories of where he is, how he got here, or even who he is. As it turns out, there are fourteen other people here… and all of them have the same memory loss he does! (may or may not be an IF Bad End AU)

Polychain AU - Another different Victims and Blackends au, that extends well beyond the original Killing Game. The Tragedy occurs very differently in this one… initially. Also features Junko escaping after the Killing Game, and Hajime and Shuichi being half-brothers and kids of the survivors.

Unnamed AU where Leon and Taka also attended Makoto and Sayaka’s middle school.

Ghost AU - After being killed, the victims and blackened are forced to stick around and watch the Killing Game happen, believing they'll be allowed to move on after they leave. Turns out, they're very much wrong- but at least after it's over their classmates can see them! Too bad they're the only ones.

Teachers Assistant AU - inspired by a fic I don’t remember the name of on fanfiction.net. After Nagito blows up a building and gets suspended, Chisa is forced to take a Teacher’s Assistant or be fired. Somehow, a very reluctant Makoto gets the job, despite being in the class below her own. Cross-class shenanigans ensue.

Unnamed Timetravel AU inspired by a fic I don’t remember the name of on fanfiction.net where Makoto and Alter Ego, the only survivors of the Killing Game, are sent back in time to Makoto’s first day attending Hope’s Peak - Makoto mentally and Alter Ego physically. Not as dark as the premise sounds, at least theoretically.

Crossover

Dagla!Adrien AU - Adrien isn’t the son of Gabriel and Emilie Agreste, but instead his parents are a Modern Dagur and Mala. He still works for Gabriel as a model, but otherwise has had a very different upbringing (most notably the inclusion of a lot of people who have cared about him for his entire life, such as his best friend Zephyr Haddock) and acts more like Chat Noir both with and without the mask. He still befriends his canon friends, becomes Chat Noir, and falls in love with Ladybug. (HTTYD x Miraculous Ladybug)

Miracutale - Lila pushes Marinette down a hole, Adrien tries to catch her but fails. Undertale ensues. (Miraculous Ladybug x Undertale)

Sailor Bella (name subject to change) - AU inspired by some art from Turning-the-Tides, Princess Serenity reincarnates not into Usagi Tsukino, but Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, and her Senshi are reincarnated into the boys. I have no idea who Endymion became if he exists at all in this AU. (Sailor Moon x Phineas and Ferb)

unnamed Steven Universe x Undertale AU - After returning from the Jungle Moon, Steven and Connie end up stranded in an alternate timeline where they meet what appears to be another half-gem going by the name of False Topaz (Frisk). Things get a little more tricky when it turns out that gems and humans coexist somewhat… on one side of a giant, seemingly uncross-able mountain range live humans, on the other gems, and after a war between the two a few centuries ago, both cultures have a kill on sight policy. 9. Which fic has been the hardest to write?

Hmm at this point I’d have to say Satisfaction. Any smut fic or fic involving smut is always challenging to write, because you (or at least I) want to keep it fresh and interesting and get across something more than just the sex, without resorting to being clinical. But this one was especially tricky because it was just as much a character study and a fucking essay to anyone who thinks sub!Catra could ever be a thing as it was a smut fic, and because the content was very delicate and I needed to make sure it was getting across exactly what I was trying to say and nothing more, nothing less. So there was the usual slog of writing smut plus the paralysis of feeling like it needed to be perfect, and frustration when I couldn’t seem to get it right. That’s quite the combination, I’ll tell ya.

Oh, boy! I love this question. :D

In no particular order…

Demons (She-Ra, Catradora): This fic is basically therapy for myself and Catradora, and anyone in the fandom willing to brave the trigger warnings. It’s been taxing but extremely cathartic to write, as it’s essentially about what it’s like to be a survivor of child abuse. This fic really only has a plot to allow me to address whatever issues I want to, and it was originally supposed to be, like, 6 chapters. We’re going on 23 now, whoops! I really do love this fic, though, with my whole heart. It’s probably the most raw, profound, meaningful piece of writing I’ve ever done. I love She-Ra for how openly it deals with the long-term effects of abuse, and I can only hope I’ve done the canon story and characters justice.

Loyalty (Hunger Games, Joniss): This is my longest fic, both in terms of words (333k) and how long I’ve been working on it (5 years). Believe it or not, I am still plugging away. And actually, in some ways this might be the most meaningful piece I’ve written. It involves a lot of the same themes as Demons, like abuse and implied neurodivergence, but it’s all in the background, as this is much more of a plot-heavy fic. But a lot of really heavy subjects are addressed, and I like to think they’re examined in a deep but delicate way. This fic is full of twists and the character development is pretty damn next level, and the ship dynamics are super fun, as it always is when I write Johanna x Katniss. Honestly I love this fic to bits and I wish I had more time to work on it, but She-Ra is my current main special interest, so updates have been sparse lately. However, there is a new chapter coming soon, so go get yourself caught up! ;)

But I’m a Lumberjack (Hunger Games, Joniss): Oh boy, speaking of fun Hunger Games fics! This is my THG x But I’m a Cheerleader crossover, and it’s stupid but also really sweet? Man, I miss this fic. Another one I really want to get back to. I reversed the intuitive casting by making Johanna the oblivious lesbian and Katniss the asshole who totally knows she is gay, so they are both very snarky in this fic and it is hilarious. I mean, it’s especially funny for people who have watched BIAC, but yeah. It also has some heavy themes, like homophobia and child abuse (which seems to show up in basically all my fics? wonder why that could be), but all in all it’s a pretty fun, light-hearted fic.

Live With It (She-Ra, Catradora [past]): This is neither fun nor light-hearted. This story only exists because @jaelav3 absolutely trampled my heart with her one shot where Adora had killed Catra in battle years prior and was still grieving hardcore. I continued the story and made it hurt even more, but only so we could get to a more cathartic, tragic but hopeful ending. I promise, we will get there! Sorry, these first few chapters have been rough but I promise it will get better. Adora x Therapy, y’all!

Ice (The 100, Echo [gen]): This was my Echo backstory fic that I wrote as a companion piece to my multi-chapter Becho fic Building Trust. It’s fallen by the wayside a bit considering Echo’s actual backstory has since been revealed, but I reread it recently with the intention of leaving it unfinished but realized I really loved writing about the Ice Nation politics and potential relationships between its characters that were largely left unexplored. The last couple chapters are both over half-written so at some point I will finish it, god damnit. Oh btw it is also SUPER full of emotional and physical child abuse and it is just not a fun time, so it’s not a fic I ever really recommend to people. I kinda wrote this one for myself because I find the Ice Nation (and Echo in particular) fascinating.

Enough (Hunger Games, Joniss): This fic is another one that I’d classify as dumb but loveable. It’s my only un-betaed THG fic, so I feel like the quality is slightly lower than the others but it really just started as a fun little side project. Back when @jonissheadcanons-archive was active, there was a theme for a while of modern au ideas where Johanna was Katniss’s babysitter when they were kids. Someone else drew some adorable artwork of Johanna teaching Katniss to walk, and the heavens opened and this fic rained down on us. It’s actually pretty angsty, since there’s a lot of babygay pining and some really painful parallels to canon (for instance, Katniss’s dad dies and mom goes nonfunctional and they end up in foster care), but there’s also a lot of goofy jokes, and nostalgia for those of us who remember the 1990′s.

Oh wow do I only have 6 WIPs? Damn, it felt like more.

Part 4

Modern AU crossover where Lan Wangji collects all his queer brothers to help him run a daycare.

At the first high pitch scream Xie Lian’s brain went into red alert and before he knew it he’d vaulted over the counter into the welcome area of the daycare. Only then did he realize that the scream was actually high pitch laughter as a two year old was being mercilessly tickled by a long haired man in an overly large black knit sweater. The man stopped his attack on the child with eyes wide in surprise. Brother Lan had even leaned forward over the counter to look at him with slightly raised brows.

“Flower Crown Martial Prince?” The man asked in a confused tone. “Ah! It is you! What are you doing here in the city?”

Taken aback, Xie Lian stood up from the crouch he’d landed in and scrutinized the man’s face. He was in his late 20’s, if 30. Tired, probably overworked judging by the bags under his eyes, but still very cute with messy bangs framing his face. There was what looked like smudged black eyeliner at the corner of his eyes. Xie suddenly remembered a far less tired version of this face with heavy stage makeup, a devilish smile, swirling black and crimson robes and the sound of an eerie pipe flute being played.

“Ah! Yiling Patriarch!” Xie Lian exclaimed. “Wei Wuxian! What poor woman did you trick into having a child with you?”

Wei Wuxian gasped in mock outrage. “How dare you Xie Lian! This is my nephew! The one Brother Lan stole is mine!”

Looking over at Brother Lan, who seemed to have turned to stone, he saw that the man was indeed holding a sleeping three year old. Which was surprising. The children at the daycare were sadly very intimidated by Brother Lan and had a hard time just asking him for a cup of water. Not wanting to make things uncomfortable for the children he usually spent most of his time either in his office or in the back garden. Xie Lian had to admit that Brother Lan gently cradling a sleeping child to his shoulder was rather heart warming.

Turning back to Wei Wuxian “So now you’re stealing children Wu-Er? You and I both know you were too busy getting drunk back stage to be having any affairs four years ago.”

“Tch, that mouth on you Li-Er! No one expects it with that babyface of yours. I adopted A-Yuan fair and square. And just what is a vagabond like you doing here? I thought you enjoyed the life of a leaf in the wind?”

Xie couldn’t help chuckling at the description of him being a leaf. It did describe his life will up until almost two years ago when he decided to stay to help Lan Wangji open his daycare.

“This leaf got caught by a bunch of small children. Thankfully they were merciful and said they would not crush me if I danced a silly dance for them.”

“Haha! that does sound like something that would happen to you Li-Er.” The man grinned widely as he wrangled the small child in his arms who clearly wish to escape.

“NO TICKLE!” The boy rather pitifully whined.

“Aaaah, but A-Ling I thought you wanted me too? It’s so hard to tell what you want when you never tell me.” Standing up Wei Wuxian held the little A-Ling as he squirmed about but the man did not tickle him again. After a moment of not being tickled the child settled, clutching a rather cute dog plushie to his face as he pouted with teary eyes.

“Uncle Ying mean.”

Wei Wuxian looked over a Xie Lian also making a sad face “Tch, So ungrateful this little one. I do so much for him and my Shijie and here he is telling me I’m a mean uncle because I tickled him a little bit. He’s the mean one.”

“Pfft!” Xie couldn’t help but laugh at Wei Wuxian’s antics. He hadn’t changed a bit since he’d last saw him almost three years ago, when they had both still been performing together for the TiaCheng Royal Performance Troop. It was amazing how easily he could get under someone’s skin but then have them laughing at his jokes the next minute. It was this complete lack of social decorum Xie Lian liked best about him.

“Still tormenting children I see,” Xie teasingly stated as he smiled gently at A-Ling. “Oh that’s a cute puppy you have there.”

A-Ling blinked tears from his eyes as he regarded this new brother. He then held the plushie out for him to get a better look.

“This Fairy.”

“Hmm,” Xie nodded “a very cute name for very cute puppy.”

“Tch, don’t encourage that kind of naming. The last thing I want is for him to grow up like his other uncle.”

Hearing this little A-Ling became indignant and began to squirm and kick out again. Taking pity on the small child Xie Lian snagged him out of his uncle’s arms before settling him on his hip. Startled at the sudden change A-Ling stopped kicking and clung to the front of Xie’s apron.

“There that’s better?” Xie asked, giving the little one a soft smile. “I’ve got some new stuffed animals who are in need of a good name. What to help me?”

Little A-Ling’s eyes went wide at the prospect of getting to name new plushies.

“Mnn!” He agreed with an excited nod.

Wei Wuxian let out a very dejected “awwww” as he look back an forth between Xie and Brother Lan.

“What’s with all these handsome brothers stealing my children from me today? Can’t you get you own kids?”

Brother Lan seem to finally turn back to flesh and blood with a slight jerk. Looking down at the sleeping child in his arms he began to shift forward as if to hand him back to Wei Wuxian.

“Ah ya! Don’t do that!” Wei Wuxian frantically waved his hands to stop him. “You’ll wake him up! Took me forever to get him to fall asleep last night since it was raining.”

The man caught one of the child’s little shoe covered feet peeking out from Brother Lan’s arm. He gave it a light shake.

“You be good now my little radish. Papa has to go to work.”

Letting go of the little foot, Wei Wuxian then turned to his nephew in Xie Lian’s arms. Leaning down he booped the two year old on the nose. A-Ling seemed torn between wanting to be mad at his uncle for the unfair treatment of earlier and being pleased with the sudden gentle affection. Unable to deal he pouted, turned and buries his face in Xie’s shoulder.

“Ah I see how is. Found yourself a better looking uncle huh?” Wei Wuxian pouted back. “You be good for these Big Brothers now. Look after your cousin. I’ll be back later.”

Straightening up, Wei Wuxian gave Xie a wink. “Li-Er, it was good seeing you again. I wish all the luck dealing with this grumpy ungrateful child.” A-Ling gave out a small squawk at that. “Since you’re in town we should get drinks some time!”

Xie Lian froze up a bit at that. As pleased as he was to see his friend he did not ever want to go drinking with him ever again. Drinking had never really appealed to him, and after one the time he did drink he very much refused repeat the experience.

“Aaah,” he fished about for a polite way to refuse. “I’m still not a drinker. Maybe coffee?”

“Hmm? Really?” Wei Wuxian sighed. “That one time had been so much fun though.”

‘Maybe for you.’ Thought Xie, ‘but most definitely not for me.’

“Coffee it is then.” The man said shaking him head in a what-am-I-to-do-with-you way.

Thinking that Wei Wuxian was on his way out, Xie had turned to go around the counter but stopped when he noticed that the man hadn’t moved towards the door but the counter. Where Brother Lan was still standing. Leaning slightly against the top of the counter Wei Wuxian looked up coyly at the taller man.

“Lan ge ge,” Wei Wuxian practically purred.

Xie was stunned. He’d seen Wei Wuxian act shamelessly hundreds of times, but Xie had hoped that he’d learned who not to provoke by now. As he watch, the man reached out a slender pale hand to tug at the pristine white necktie at Brother Lan’s throat.

“You’ll take good care of my little boy for me right ge ge?” A cheeky grin stretched Wei Wuxian’s face as he tugged again at the necktie.

In the nearly two years Xie had worked with Lan Wangji, he’d never really seen the man noticeable outwardly react to much. But the man had a very high standard for how one should conduct themselves in public, so if anything was to anger him it would be this level of shamelessness. Much to his surprise though Brother Lan after a few blinks very seriously nodded with a “Mn”.

Taken aback, Wei Wuxian drop the tie. A blush creeped up his cheeks as he back away from the counter. He moved his head back an forth as if he didn’t know where to look.

“I . . . Well,” the man stuttered. “Thanks.” He finally managed as he beat a hasty retreat to the door. “Bye bye now.” With a swish of long hair he was out the door.

Both Xie Lian and Lan Wangji started at the door long after Wei Wuxian had left.

“Ah ha, Brother Lan,” Xie called out.

The brother in question jumped as if he hadn’t noticed he still had an audience. He turned to look at Xie.

“Brother Lan, Wu-Er has always been pretty shameless, but also very harmless. Please don’t think less of him.”

“You know him.” The expression on Brother Lan’s face seemed strange to Xie, the fact that he was being this expressive at all was strange.

“Yes, we preformed together for a few years ago as actors in a traveling theater troop. He’s a bit like an little brother to me, always causing mischief and misunderstandings.”

Brother Lan’s face smoothed out to his usual cool expression at this explication.

“Ah.” He nodded in understanding. “He really hasn’t changed much.”

Finally going around the counter into the play area of the daycare Xie looked confusedly at the younger brother.

“Does Brother Lan also know Wei Wuxian?”

The only answer was another “mn”, without offering anymore explanation then that.

“Alright, well A-Ling,” Xie addressed the small child still clinging to the front of his apron. “Ready to help me name those plushies?”

“Yes!” The boy excitedly squeaked.

“Ah, Brother Xie?”

Xie Lian who’d began to walk towards the further end of the play area paused to look back at Brother Lan. He was looking down at the sleeping A-Yuan still in his arms.

“Do I, keep holding him? or?”

“Oh! Haha, hold on. I’ll set up one of the play mats we use at nap time. You can lay him on that.” Xie set A-Ling down saying he’d be right back before getting a rolled plush mat and a fuzzy blanket. Finding a place out of the way of the chaos of the other children playing, he unrolled the mat before directing Brother Lan to lay the sleeping child down. The taller man hesitated a moment, seeming unsure about how to go about it. Then he kneeled down next to the mat before leaning forward and slowly lowering the child. A-Yuan at first squirmed a bit at being in a new position but then settled, continuing to sleep. Letting out a small sigh, Brother Lan tried to sit up only to find he couldn’t.

“Hm? Something wrong Brother Lan.” Xie asked.

“Tie.” Was the only reply.

“Tie?” Bending down Xie looked and saw that the end of Brother Lan’s necktie was caught in A-Yuan little fist. “Pfft! Like father like son, as they say.” Carefully he help extract the tie from the tiny hand.

Freed, Lan Wangji sat up smoothing the necktie out while looking at the child with pinched brows on an otherwise smooth face. Plucking up the blanket he covered the child with it. Then after thinking for a moment he tucked the edges of the blanket underneath him. The child’s face scrunched up, then wiggling a bit he freed an arm from the blanket. An aura of concern radiated from Brother Lan as he tucked the arm back into the blanket.

Xie Lian watch in growing amusement as the younger brother continued to tried to tuck the small child into the blanket. But as he managed to tuck an arm in, a foot would then escape and so on.

“Brother Lan,” Xie chuckled, after the fifth time Brother Lan tucked in a foot just for an arm to pop out, “he’ll be fine if not all of him is cover. At this rate you might wake him up.”

Lan Wangji paused at that before reluctantly standing up. He continued to stand in place looking down at the small child with pinched brows seemingly unsure what to do.

‘Ah, thought Xie, ‘He must of really taken Wei Wuxian’s teasing at face value.’ To the man he said, “This brother will let you know when he wakes up. You have things to take care of don’t you? This child will be fine, it’s safe here is it not?”

Reluctantly Lan Wangji nodded before slowly walking back to front of the daycare. As he reach the computer the door opened to admit another parent and child which he greeted. Xie Lian smiled fondly after him before going back to A-Ling who was waiting for him.

Showing him the box of new plushies he let the small child pull out a few to give names to. This also attracted the attention of other small children and soon there was a gaggle of them coming up with usual names children think up. There was now a Lieutenant Snuggles, a Pretty Miss Kitty Fluff, Daisy, and a rather disheveled looking teddy called A-Xu the Destroyer. Listening to the children squabble about names, Xie almost missed hearing a knocking coming from kitchen in the back.

Leaning back from his spot on the floor to look through the open doorway, Xie Lian was unable to see if Luo Binghe was back there or not. Another knock came. Concerned, he excused himself from the children to investigate.

Entering the kitchen it was empty of the large youth who of late had taken up cooking for the children. Xie Lian had some concerns about Luo Binghe being in the daycare, but had yet to voice them to the other two brothers as it would require some explaining that he wasn’t at liberty to tell yet. Also he was worried about braking poor little Shen Yuan’s heart telling him what his favorite student had been up to these past five years. For now he was letting the young man slide as he for the most part kept out of sight and away from the children. It also didn’t hurt that he was an exceptionally good cook.

Wondering where Luo Binghe could’ve gone off to, as the daycare really wasn’t that big, he was startled as another knock sounded at the backdoor. Concerned that maybe he’d locked himself out Xie Lian opened the door find a very different tall young man. He had his hand raised to knock again but stopped when the door suddenly opened. The youth was dressed in a rough red polo shirt tucked into black work pants, a long braid draped over his right shoulder. Embroidered over on the left breast of the polo was Hong’s Fresh Produce Delivery Service in silverly white lettering. A long fringe of black hair peaking out of under a red baseball cap obscured most of his right face. The single eye that Xie could see widened slightly.

“Good Morning!” Xie Lian greeted cheerfully realizing it was just the usual food delivery that came every few days. Brother Lan was very adamant about the food for the children always being fresh and that it was bought locally to help out the community.

“Ah, good morning.” The young man replied off handedly. “Sorry for the lateness, I . . . ran into some traffic. If this brother wouldn’t mind signing?” He held up a clipboard with a delivery sheet.

“Oh! of course!” Xie accepted the clipboard but was rather unsure what to do, as up til now he’d never really accepted a delivery before and so just stared at it. There came an “ahem”, Xie looked up to see that the young man was pushing a dolly cart laden with red crates of produce.

“Ah, sorry sorry!” Xie stepped off to the side while holding the door open to allow him to push the cart in. There was a chuckle as the youth pushed passed him into the kitchen. Stopping at counter he turned back to Xie Lian tapping a long delicate finger to his chin.

“This new ge ge seems a bit lost.” He stated teasingly.

Xie felt his cheeks heat in slight embarrassment, wondering if there was anything he was suppose to be doing. He stared down at the clipboard as his brain scrambled. Was he suppose to help? Should he offer refreshments? Was there a protocol for this? He could remember all the ways one could accept or decline a gift from a visiting dignitary depending on their station but for the life of him he couldn’t remember if his dear mother, gods rest her soul, ever mentioned accepting a food delivery.

There was another chuckle but much closer this time. Looking up, all he saw at first was the opening of a shirt and the pale hollow of a throat. Following the slender neck up with his eyes he came to a delicate but firm chin. Tilting his head back Xie Lian was finally able to look the man in the face. The mouth above the firm chin quirked up in one corner while the single visible eye gleamed in amusement. Xie had to say that usually he was not a fan of the younger generations tendencies to obscure their face with overly long fringes but this one’s lent an oddly mischievous boyish charm to him. So much so that Xie couldn’t help but think he was cute.

“Ge ge, please sign here.” Xie felt a gentle tap on the clipboard he was still holding. Looking back down he saw a long shapely finger tap again at a place near the bottom of the sheet that said signature with a line after it.

“Ah, of course, of course.” Xie mumbled as he fumbled to grab the pen out of the clip at the top of the board. The treacherous pen however slipped out of his fingers, bounced once on the clipboard before falling towards the floor. Luckily the slander hand from earlier caught it and handed it back to him with a “Careful ge ge.”

He could feel his face get hotter as he accepted the pen back. It looked like today was shaping up to be one of those awkward days for him. As he wrote his signature on the line the young man move back over to crates of produce and began lifting them onto the counter.

“Ah! Let me help!”

Smiling the young man shook his head. “No need ge ge.” After setting the last of the crates down he then held out his hand. Confused Xie Lian just looked at, it was a very well shaped hand.

“May I have it back ge ge?”

“Oh! Yes!” Realizing what the young man had wanted that Xie handed the clipboard back. Taking it the young man looked down at it before quirking an eyebrow up questioningly.

“Xie Lian? You wouldn’t happen to be a part of The Xie Family that disappeared all those years ago?”

Xie’s heart gave a painful jump at the question. While his name wasn’t the most common of surnames it wasn’t rare either. Xie Lian took another look at this delivery man. He seem like a normal young man in his mid twenties.

“How is it that such a young man like yourself knows about the disappearance of The Xie family? You probably weren’t even 10 at the time.”

The young man shrugged, “I had family who had worked for them. Plus it had been a great mystery to everyone at the time. Such a powerful and ancient family suddenly gone, no clues as to what had happened. People still wonder about it.”

Shaken, Xie Lian did his best to remain calm. In these past 17 years he’d never had anyone guess that he wasn’t just another average joe. Even people who should have known his face had not recognized him. No one expected a street performer to really be the heir to a mass fortune. Though in truth everything was gone now. Not even a hut in the mountains was left to his name.

“Ah ha,” Xie good naturally laughted, “of course, of course. I remember, it was all over the news, it had been very strange. There also was even a good long while back then when people kept asking if I’d been related to that family.”

The teasing amusement from earlier was gone now, replaced with a sad concern on the young man’s face. “I’ve seem to have gone to far, forgive me ge ge. I’d only meant make a joke.”

Relieved that the subject was being dropped, but still concern that it had come up at all, Xie smile at the young man while waving his hand in a placating gesture. “Ah it fine, it’s fine.” He had a vague feel that this must be what Brother Shen felt like anytime him and Brother Lan fussed over his health. “If I might ask, what is this younger brother’s name?”

The young man perked up a bit at the question. Shyly he replied, “Lang. San Lang.”

‘San,’ Xie thought, ‘I don’t remember anyone in particularly working for my family with that surname.’ But then again he had been either busy with school work or off at college in England for most of the years leading up to the tragedy that be-felled his family. His Father also thought it very improper for him to be even remotely familiar with the work staff at the house. Xie had stopped attempting to be friendly with any of them after his father had fired half of the cleaning staff because Xie had refused to stop conversing with them while they worked.

San Lang fiddled with the sheet on the clipboard, extracting the pink bottom sheet as he looked back and forth between Xie Lian and the board. It reminded Xie of how some of the kids looked when approaching Brother Lan with a question, but felt too shy to ask it. It was rather endearingly cute.

“San Lang,” Xie tested out saying the name. “That’s a good name.”

A blush dusted across San Lang’s cheeks upon hearing this.

“I’m glad ge ge likes it.” Then clearing his throat he said, “I should get going, I have more deliveries to make this morning.” Handed the pink sheet to Xie Lian with a “For Brother Lan.”

With a quiet “oh” Xie Lian took the sheet, as he did the tips of his fingers grazed the back of San Lang’s hand. The young man practically jumped out of his skin at the contact. Turning away he quickly grab the dolly cart and walked to the backdoor. With a quiet “It was nice meeting you,” he slipped out the door leaving a rather bewildered Xie Lian wondering what had happened.

‘Maybe he’s a germaphobe?’ Xie reasoned, ‘That’s a thing now-a-days right?’ Brother Lan also wasn’t big on being touched but he usually would just shift away from the contact and not make a big show of it.

As he was contemplating this a small heart broken wail took up from inside of the daycare.

Having put away the cart San Lang climbed into the driver’s seat of his delivery van. Hunching over the steering wheel he took a deep breath and slowly let it out before letting his head thump down onto the top of it. He thumped it a few more times for good measure as he muttered “stupid, stupid, stupid,” under his breath. He’d been so happy to finally get to see his ge ge, and then he been so stupid.

The last thing he wanted was for Xie Lian to be suspicious of him, he might as well have carved the word right onto his forehead. Ge ge had done well to hide how troubled he had been after being asked about his family. All of Xie Lian’s smiles were blinding but that last one he’d given San Lang had barely reached his eyes. It had hurt to see those lively eyes look so lifeless as he remembered.

Slumping back dejectedly into his seat San Lang glared out the front of his windshield. Things until then had been going so well, which is probably why he’d gotten cocky. He definitely had far better luck then the average person, but every so often the universe had to remind him that he was still human.

On the bright side, at least now he doesn’t have to be inconspicuous if he ran into Xie Lian in public. It wouldn’t be too weird if he saw him while riding the train and called out to him. Remind him that he was the little brother who delivered produce to the daycare. He might have to be patient and wait a few weeks before doing so, so as not to raise more suspicion. But it could work. Just a few random run ins. Maybe he’ll actually have the guts to ask him out on a date during one of them.

He covered his face as a blush creeped up his cheeks when he remembered how Xie Lian had said his name, and that he had said it was a good one. The back of his hand felt hot where his finger tips had brushed it. It had been an accident, feather light and would’ve been unnoticeable if not for the shock that had ran up his arm to his heart. He’d wanted grab it and hold onto it, never letting it go. It would’ve been odd for a stranger to do that to someone they’d just met, well met again. Not that ge ge recognized him. It had been such a long time ago and he was a full grown adult now, not some scrawny brat. Though if he thought about, professionally ge ge has known him for quite some time, just by a very different name.

It was then that he spotted Luo Binghe walking along the side of the daycare. His handsome face looked like a black thundercloud. He paused when he saw the van, then looked up through the windshield at San Lang with a hostile “the fuck you doing here” look.

Not wanting to deal that guy, San Lang grabbed the key still in the ignition and turned it until the engine roar to life. How that little devil managed to get a job working in the daycare he’ll never know. The owner Brother Lan seem like a reasonable person, who at least would do a background check before hiring someone so sketchy. He supposed he might have done it as a favor to Brother Shen who been the kids teacher. But that still begged the question as to why Luo Binghe, a notorious gang leader, was spending his mornings making food for children.

As he was backing out into the alleyway Luo Binghe flipped him the bird while scowling, San Lang returned it with gusto. Every single time they had the unfortunate luck to run into each other it always turned into a pissing match. Why they hadn’t come to actually blows yet was a slight mystery. For San Lang there were a few too many unknown variables for him to ever risk getting into a genuine fight with Binghe. Why Luo Binghe kept his fists to himself was another unanswered question. San Lang did have to admit that riling him up on occasion could be fun.

As the van rolled up to the corner and San Lang stopped to wait for the light to turn, the door leading to the back opened slightly.

“Mr. Lang?” Came a light voice, a dark eye peer out at him.

Not turning, San Lang softly responded “Ah miss, it’s still not safe. I have a few more stops. Then I’ll be able to take you all to those who’ll get you home safe. Please be patient.”

The woman was quiet for a moment. “A few of the girls are wondering if there might be some water?”

The light turned green and San Lang pressed on the gas, going through the intersection as if he hadn’t a care in the world.

After a moment he said “There’s a few bottles of clean water off to the right in a crate. They can have that. But try not to drink too much. It’ll be several hours before it will be safe enough for anyone to be able to come out.”

“Thank you Mr Lang.” And the door slide shut again.

Turning down another street, San Lang softly let out a breath he was holding. It was going to be a long morning.

Woo! this ended up being pretty long. I realized I hadn’t written from Xie’s perspective yet which fit in nicely after Wei Ying’s and also gave me a surprising amount of room to set up plot points for future chapters. That man has a bad habit of getting tied up in other peoples problems. Also I think my Xie is a little more distrusting and secretive then cannon Xie, but he has his reasons given what his actual job is, I’ll get into what it is later on.

Poor San Lang, he was a little too excited to finally see his ge ge. My Hua Cheng still has like crazy good luck, but he is still just a regular human, sometime he really can’t catch a brake. What he’s actually up isn’t as bad as looks.

I used single name syllables with -Er in this chapter as a way to show that WWX and XL have a close relationship, but to also make a slight joke since Er can be used to mean Little. And given that Xie is very babyface and small, people wouldn’t find it surprising, but him calling WWX little would seem a bit weird since he’s taller and seems older, when really he’s the little brother. Also I just think Li-Er and Wu-Er sound cute. Poor Lan Wangji having all the misunderstanding, you got him back though sir with your whole hearted sincerity.

I do want to state, that when WWX and XL first met they actually didn’t get along, it took them a while to come to a understanding of each other. The Slowburn Friendship, that I probably wont get into as it doesn’t have a lot to do with the actual plot.

"Where is he, Mikasa? They were coming back today!" I ask nervously as I wait for my husband’s return out the front of our family home. "Don't worry Y/N. My brother will come back." She says with a smile. "He better, he just got promoted to Captain 3 months ago." I say as I wait nervously. I jump up as I hear the rumbling of the gates opening. I stand up quickly and look for my husband within the crowd of injured soldiers. I see Commander Levi ride forward and the retired commander, who was also my cousin, Erwin steps forward from behind me. "Where..." I mumble as my brother pats my shoulder. "He'll be here." He says before gesturing the new Commander over. "Eren. Where is he, Levi?" I look up at my husband's commander and he sighs before jumping off his horse and handing it to someone else. "He's alive, for now." My eyes widen even more. "For now? What do you mean 'for now'?" I ask and he gestures to the infirmary.

"He's in there with four-eyes right now. He...we failed at protecting him, in Titan or Human form. I'm sorry." He says as he hangs his head and salutes. "Mommy?" I hear from behind me. "Elizabeth. What are you doing out here? Get back inside sweetie." I say as I kneel down to my daughter. "Where daddy?" The 3-year-old asks. "He's here, he's...just finishing off some work. He'll come back." I say with a smile and she smiles back "Otay! Uncle Er! Uncle Le!" She says happily as she runs up to my brother and his friend, Levi, who was a faithful, close and honoured friend of the family. "Hey, kiddo." He says and he bends down and picks her up. He was a lot happier, now that we’re getting somewhere with the Titans. And also he's with Hange now, so her personality might help. "C...can you guys keep an eye on here while I go see how Eren's doing with his 'work'?" I ask and they nod. "Just be quick, brat, I'm not just a Captain anymore. I have a lot to do." The commander says with a small smile and I nod my head with a laugh.

Time Skip

"Oh..." I whimper quietly as I see the state Eren was in. "H....hey babe..." He groans with a cough. "Sweetie...it's gonna regenerate right?" I ask as I sit next to the bed and place my hand on his. "I....it should. H...hange-san said it would take a while though. It is my entire lower half I'm h...healing." He says with a low chuckle. "H...how's Liz?" He asks and I smile. "She's fine. She was asking where you were a few minutes ago...I told her you were coming back, so don't turn me into a liar." I say with a shaky breath. "I won't"

"I left her with Mikasa, my brother and Commander Levi. She's in good hands while I'm here with you." I smile softly with him. "Good, I was worried you'd leave her with horse face." I giggle and kiss his forehead. "Get better soon love. I've gotta go and explain to Elizabeth what really happened to her father. Do you want me to bring her to see you tomorrow?" He nods and I make a mental note of it. "Hey, Hange!" I yell into her doctor's office. "Yeah?" She replies. "I'm bringing Liz in tomorrow and I need to cover up all the gore, can you sort something out?" I ask and she gives me a thumbs up. "Get some rest honey, you must be exhausted." I say with a smile, rubbing the back of his hand with my thumb. "Thank you for coming to see me." He says as he drifts off to sleep. "Of course I did idiot. Sleep well." I kiss his forehead and walk back to our house.

I sigh as I open the door. "How is he?" Mikasa asks and I sigh with a shake of my head. "Not good, but he's not leaving." I say and she lets out a sigh. She stands up to go see him but I stop her. "He's asleep right now." I say and she nods, sitting back down. "Mommy! Mommy!" I kneel down to my little girl and pinch her cheeks. She laughs and grabs my apron. "We see daddy?" She asks and I shake my head. "No sweetie, not now. Tomorrow we will, I promise." I say and she nods her head running back to Levi and his kid. "Anna! We play now!" She says to the little girl and she nods, her face stoic like his used to be, but soft and friendly like Hange's. "Are you really taking her tomorrow?" My cousin asks and I nod. "He wants to see her, but she's not gonna see the bad part of it. Do you guys even know what happened to him? What he looks like?" I ask and both Mikasa and my cousin shake their heads.

"He has nothing from the waist down." I whisper and their eyes go wide. "It'll take days to heal, but he's determined to stay alive, and once his mind is set on something...nothing changes it, not even death itself." I smile, knowing he would make it out alive. Broken, but alive. "Come on Anna, we need to go." Levi says and she nods, packing up her stuff then grabbing his hand. "Good luck." He says to me before walking out. "Aww, but I wanna play longer...." Liz says and I pick her up. "No, it's time for a nap. You promise to be good for Uncle Erwin while mommy cooks dinner?" I ask I poke her nose. "Yes!" She says happily as my cousin grabs a storybook and carries Liz to her bedroom. "You should go see how Jean is Mikasa. He probably missed you." I say and she nods, collecting her things and leaving to see her boyfriend. I sigh and start peeling potatoes, carrots and other veggies for dinner. "Guess we could have stew tonight." I murmur to myself.

Time Skip

"Come on sweetie, daddy's in this room." I say as Liz runs behind me, holding onto my hand tightly as we walk behind Hange. "Mommy? Is daddy hurt like you said?" She asks as she reaches her arms up, signalling me to pick her up. "Yeah, but remember, daddy's got superhero powers. He's healing himself right now." I say with a smile as I poke her nose gently. "Daddy's gonna get better and come back home soon sweetie, don't worry." I say as Hange opens the door. "Thank you Hange." I say and Liz smiles at the doctor who walked us here. "Fank you Doctor Hange!" She says and I enter the private room. "Hi, honey." I coo quietly and he opens his eye slowly and only halfway. "Hey, babe. Hey Liz, how's my baby girl doing?" He asks and I sit Elizabeth on my lap as I sat in the chair next to him. "Daddy...Make your superhero powers go faster...I like playing with Uncle Er, but I wanna play with you!" She says sadly and he brushes some hair out of her face. "I know Liz. I'll be back in a few days, just keep being a good girl for mommy while I get better." He says and she nods sadly. "Okay..."

"Liz, sweetie, go get Doctor Hange to take you home. Mommy needs to speak with daddy for a little bit." She jumps off my lap and makes a leave for Hange's office, leaving for home soon after. "What's wrong babe?" I sigh and try to think of a way to tell him. "R...remember when you left? A month ago?" I ask and he nods. "W...w...well, 1 week after I found out I was pr...pregnant again..." I say and he smiles widely. "That's great new-" "That not what I wanted to tell you..." I say and his smile drops. "What did you wanna tell me?" I place my shaking hand on my stomach. "I can't have another child Eren. I don't wanna bring another precious baby into this cruel world, but I don't want to kill it either a...and I don't know what to do!" I cry softly before my cheek was cradled softly. "Hey...we'll get through this, alright? We always do." He says and I nod with a smile. "I'm defiantly not gonna die on you now."

Time Skip

I walk outside and wait for my husband to return from another expedition. During my pregnancy, with twins, he would go out and he would always come back, sometimes injured and sometimes not. I smile at our first little girl, Elizabeth, who was holding onto my skirt. I cradle the twins, Marco and Carla, in my arms. I smile as the rumbling of the gates arrives on time and I see all my friends ride through the gate. Armin and Mikasa make their way over to me, along with Commander Levi. "Hey, guys. Did he get injured again?" I ask with a chuckle but their faces remain sad. "H...hey, what happened?" I ask and Mikasa and Levi grab the kids, taking them inside. "A...armin...don't say it please..." I beg with tears in my eyes as I realise what was going on. "I'm sorry Y/N..." He says quietly and I fall to my knees, bawling my eyes out and screaming until my lungs hurt. "H...he got eaten alive in Titan form and he...he didn't make it..." He mumbles, kneeling down and rubbing my back. "W...we're sorry! He died because we weren't good enough! We...we let him, your family and the rest of humanity down..." Jean says as he and the other people from the 104th Trainee's Squad bow in front of me. "I...it's not your guys' fault. These things h...happen. Just promise me that he won't die for nothing." I say and they nod before Connie hands me something. "He...he would've wanted you to have this." I open my palm and see his key necklace. I bite my lip before letting some tears fall onto it.

What Is Your Dream AU, also Tell Me A Headcanon (and who do you wish would write it) ?:D

Oh god you had to ask the HARDEST TWO QUESTIONS okay. I can do this. Also: this is long, I did warn you.

Dream AU: the difficulty I have here is that there are so many AUs that are dear to my heart and which I think about Often, for instance I still sometimes think about the Borrowers AU that a bunch of us dreamed up in which Valjean, Marius and the Amis are all Borrowers and Enjolras is a Very Brave Tiny Man with a needle sword.

Or there’s the AU that Elliot and I still talk about where Marius is a cat and Valjean is a dog but everything else is the same, which started as a joke but then swiftly became heartbreaking because in fact the last chapters make even MORE sense emotionally in this AU and Cosette finally finding her poor old dog in the building where they used to live after he ran away because she got a cat and he took it personally.... and he’s too weak to get up and run to her but his tail thumps on the floor when he sees her... help I’m going to stop before I cry.

But I guess maybe more in the spirit of this questionmeme are the AUs I’m going to keep occasionally requesting in fic exchanges in the hope that I win the exchange lottery and get matched with the like 1 or 2 people in the whole world who would even consider them, namely:a) Les Amis are radical disabled activists in the DAN era, pulling a bunch of stunts like chaining wheelchairs to buses. Mainly I heard a few of the original DAN members speaking on a podcast and I loved their entire approach, it’s the kind of joyful boisterousness meets savvy calculation that I’m heavily Into politicswise.

b) the Technically Is This Even An AU (yes shell it is) crossover with The Mill in which... I dunno, in my mind one of the English speakers, probably Combeferre would make most sense here tbh, has various correspondents and one of them happens to be a Manchester cotton mill engineer and trade unionist, and they become more and more friendly and SOMEHOW everyone ends up on a visit to England and also it’s discovered that Feuilly and Esther Price are distant cousins and it’s Good because they are both kids who lost a family and then made their own. Also they all end up in the GRITS together so there’s a nice reunion coda for you. Then of course there is the REAL star AU, namely the Actual Modern AU in which they’re all anti-authoritarian communists and their activities reflect the reality of organising today, and they distribute bananas and bustcards at demos, and babysit kids because Care Is Radical, and do a bunch of other Actual Political Work, and they Still somehow get into a confusion about who’s taking minutes at the meeting.

The problem with this AU is that I can’t even request it bc to research it a person needs to like, Seek Out Their Local Leftist Group Meeting, Not The SWP By The Way Steer Clear Of Them, and while I wish fervently that this were the kind of research that people were willing to do for fic (and then maybe they would... you know... end up staying for the ride) it doesn’t seem to be, alas and alack.

Headcanon? Oh hmm. This one’s hard! I have a bunch of headcanons which I will personally always write but I don’t think that counts. Also I feel kind of weird about Naming People I want to write stuff - it’s awkward! It feels demanding! What if they don’t want to! What if they Did want to and I named someone else and they think I don’t want Them to but that’s not the case I was just picking one name out of the many eligible contenders! And then also: I say ‘I have a bunch of headcanons’, but what in truth is a headcanon, what qualifies as such, how shall we break this down, et cetera. Okay well one firm belief of mine which I know you share & which is certainly a headcanon, on the grounds that there is nothing in the text requiring this over another interpretation, so I certainly don’t think people writing otherwise are Wrong it’s just Not How I Tend To Read It, is that Joly’s maladies are not entirely imaginary, it’s just that the state of medicine in his era doesn’t allow him to fully understand them. They’re probably quite minor! I would find it upsetting if he did actually have some fatal ailment, even if circumstances would have rendered that moot regardless. Also I don’t think he is Frightened of them so much as... I dunno, I have experienced this kind of anxiety, it’s where you have to keep Poking at a thing and trying to get it to go away one way or the other, and you end up having a worse time than if you hadn’t Poked at it but then again you were at least Doing Something, which feels better than doing nothing. Anyway I am going to nominate @marschallin to write this just bc I am thrilled that there is another canon era medicine fiend in the world and I love it when she writes about this stuff.

When it comes to shipping, am I the only person that’s like a die-hard fan for a ship yet my mind is not screaming that it needs to be canon? Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for people wanting to see their two favorite fictional characters together as a couple; but then again I’m down with whether or not a creator/developer of a film, show, video game, book, etc. can confirm that a couple is canon. Though even if I can find that adorable, let me stick with any other aspects that I want to see in various outlets aside from romance. Or what I find better, for a fictional character I still want to think about portraying them as the way they’re originally portrayed. Sure that I understand that there are AU’s or any form of alternative just so we can make up anything about our precious OTP. Even though I’m all for anyone doing AU’s, sometimes I can’t help but to think that it would corrupt my head; but I’d like to do an AU one day! I’m usually a shipper that doesn’t think that my favorite pairings are the “oh-so perfect OTP and they need to be together forever”, because even for having a ship I do have other shippings that would involve the same character! So, this would probably be the longest text post I’ve ever wrote but at the same time a lot needs to be put down. And with some of the pairings that I will mention, maybe you would be familiar, maybe I’ll not mention your favorite OTP, but do take my conception in consideration!

So my first ship that I’m going to begin with talking about will be Moana x Ariel (or MoAriel). Do I ship them a lot? Well, I’m more in between with they could be great gfs or just best friends, but the way I see it is that they make great ocean buddies! So I cannot deny they’re cute! Do I want them to be canon? No, and here’s where I say that even if MoAriel is cute I still want my mind to be on the right path where I want to portray Moana and Ariel as the way they were originally portrayed in Moana and The Little Mermaid. For Ariel, I still need to keep in mind that she has Eric and Melody (idfc if I’m mentioning the shit sequel, it was one of my favorite direct-to sequels growing up k bye). I also like seeing Ariel and Eric together! Now with Moana, I just think she’s too good for a man and I’m not even headcanoning that she’s lesbian either. While we’re in the topic with the Disney Princesses as all of the news is spilling for Ralph Breaks The Internet, and as an avid LGBT supporter myself, it’s times that I couldn’t take a few people seriously to where they say that Merida, Elsa, Mulan, and many others are lesbian or bi. NOW DON’T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY! I’m all for seeing anything LGBT-related in animation, but sometimes I get a bit iffy on that issue with what will kids think of when they see it. I mean I understand that some people would say that it would mess the kids’ minds up. All I can think for now is that if I were to have kids, I would probably teach them about gay marriage not at a young age but maybe when they get older. I guess I’m that one LGBT supporter who can’t stand some of the SJWs… but hey, if people want to headcanon that they’re gay, well they can do them. I won’t stop them for that. Like for Merida, I’d still think she’s better off without a man but I won’t headcanon about her sexuality. For Elsa, like I get that people want her to be lesbian for the Frozen sequel, but I’d prefer wanting to know about the premise of the sequel more. And with Mulan, okay I get it that her outfit is dope and I’m all for her modern outfit. But I can’t have the mindset screaming “OMFG MULAN’S BI!” I believe that she’s a strong female warrior, and even I can’t help to think that she and Shang are great together! Okay now to get back and wrap up with MoAriel, I will say huge kudos for the shippers for making that happen. Like I can’t deny that it’s an amazing crossover between the land and the sea.

Alright, so another ship I’d like to talk about, and another same-sex ship, will be TwiDash (Twilight Sparkle x Rainbow Dash from MLP:FiM). Oh hey look, Imma throwback to one of my all-time favorite OTPs especially I happen to watch some of the old episodes again! Now let’s get to those 2 questions again: do I ship them a lot? I pretty much do, especially the fact that they happen to be my favorite ponies out of the Mane 6! Do I want them to be canon? No, and it’s not because that I think they should end up with stallions instead (and apparently, I don’t want to have those pairings be canon either!). Obviously RD is one of Twilight’s best friends, so I’d rather stick with whatever chemistry they have for each other! So because I have to bring up the fact that I also have pairings of Twilight and Rainbow with stallions, here’s what I need to say about that: Of course having TwiDash as one of my MLP OTPs, I happen to like SoarinDash and FlashLight (that’s Flash Sentry x Twilight Sparkle just to clarify in case if anyone gets mistaken for literally a flashlight; and yes, I like Flash try me bitch). And as a same-sex shipper, I’m not one for giving another character shit for getting in the way of the same-sex couples that I like. So as a TwiDash fan, I really don’t give flak on Flash if he were to get in the way (and Soarin’ too, I guess). Not even to mention that not only that I’ve had it with the Flash hate, it frustrates me to see some bronies/pegasisters making attack/kill art of him (I do have a vivid memory of seeing an art piece of Flash getting attacked by Trixie just bc the artist likes Twixie.). I mean I get that Flash doesn’t have that much character development (human or pony; in fact I’m more of a pony Flash x pony Twi shipper) aside from appearing near Twilight or Sunset Shimmer to where a lot of people scream “gary-stu” or “waifu stealer”, but I will say that I think Flash deserves better. Now I know saying this as a FlashLight shipper in where they don’t really interact with each other that much, I really couldn’t help myself thinking how cute they are together though. But then again, there’s more to MLP:FiM than just shippings! So to get back and wrap up with TwiDash, sure there’s nothing wrong with having other shippings with one of the same characters! Though at the same time, and just like I mentioned from my previous statement with MoAriel, I’m not headcanoning Twilight or Rainbow’s sexualities at all. So I’ll just let my imagination flow to wherever the hell it wants!

Okay let’s get into another of my favorite ship, and this time it’s a hetero ship, ShadAmy! Yay, time for another throwback to one of my favorite Sonic ships! Though I will get into a later topic that’s kinda like the topic with me as a TwiDash fan and not giving Flash a lot of shit for being in the way. So onto the same two questions: do I ship them a lot? I think shipping Shadow and Amy together was sudden, bc I was a huge SonAmy fan back then (and I still do ship SonAmy don’t worry) and wasn’t really fond with Shadow until to this day. I guess after seeing fan art of ShadAmy, it led me to start shipping them. Do I want them to be canon? Probably not, and it’s not that I think that Amy should be with Sonic (and as an SonAmy fan, I could care less whether or not it’s canon, and if anyone screams at me that it is canon and I can’t change anything about it, leave.); and I don’t think that Shadow and Amy have a huge chemistry with each other (even if they only interacted with each other twice in Sonic Adventure 2). Now here’s the part in where I say that as a ShadAmy fan, I’m not one for giving shit on Sonic or have to make him the bad guy just bc he keeps running away from Amy. And even if I’m more into Shadow than Sonic (I promise y’all I’m not like one of those Shadow fangirls…), that doesn’t mean I won’t stop loving Sonic! And playing the games of that blue blur will always hold a special place in my heart! So what conclusion do I have for ShadAmy? Nothing probably. But no matter what I’m okay with whoever I want to ship with Amy. ShadAmy? SonAmy? I really don’t care!

Now since the pairings that I’ve mentioned so far happen to be my favorite OTPs, let’s take this next topic with talking about a NOTP. And who will I be talking about next? Enter Victor x Emily from Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. As much as I enjoyed this masterpiece of a Tim Burton film, apparently having to think about this does grind my gears. So onto the questions again: do I ship them a lot? I’ve already stated that they’re not my cup of tea. Do I want them to be canon- okay um yeah let’s get right into that! I guess ever since I first saw the film back then, when I saw the ending scene with Emily turning into butterflies and then Victor and Victoria embraced my mind screamed, “welp, at least Victor and Victoria have each other now”. But at the same time it did sadden me to see Emily go away like that, yet then again Victor has freed her from the memories of pain and shit she’d been through with Barkis. So where am I going with this? Oh yes y’all, I actually like Victor x Victoria. And no, it’s not that I think Victor x Emily is necrophiliac. Pretty much, I’ve had it with everyone talking shit about Victoria all bc she was in the way between Victor and Emily. Tbh I could go on and on talking about defending Victoria, but to keep it a bit short it wasn’t her fault for interrupting the wedding; in fact, that can be saved for a later time. Now before I wrap up, and as I mentioned since the beginning, I’m all for alternatives or “what-ifs” made by Victor x Emily fans but at the same time we gotta accept the fact that the ending of Corpse Bride is just the way it is. Get used to it. Emily had her own happy ending.

Alrighty then, I’ll be taking this last topic discussing about WildeHopps just before I wrap this whole post up! Ah yes, our favorite fox-bunny duo; yet I do have some tweaks with what I think about them for the near future.. But anyway, let’s get into the questions one last time: do I ship them a lot? Now for anyone that have followed me for my Zootopia shenanigans, I do need to say that it seemed sudden of me shipping them out of nowhere. Like sure I can’t deny that Nick and Judy have a great chemistry, but there’s more to the film than just the shipping (or any romance outlet for that matter). I guess I should say that after seeing the film and looking at the fan art of the two, it led me to start shipping them! Do I want them to be canon? Okay see, this is where I get iffy about it bc even if Disney confirmed that they’re canon (or at least that’s what I heard) I still think that Nick and Judy need to start off as best friends first and then we shall see what will happen in the future if there were to be a sequel. So yeah, I think I’m that one person who had to cool off from seeing the ending bc yeah it’s cute but I don’t think I’ll be falling for it sorry! Friends? Couple? Again, these two have chemistry and that’s all that matters to me! So for now, I’m in both platonic and romantic sides of their relationship. And even though having this thought never occurring in my head, I don’t want to think about giving in for them to have their own mate by the same species. But hey, if y’all want to ship Nick with a vixen and Judy with another rabbit I ain’t stopping ya! Which would somewhat lead me to talking about how Judy would be shipped with Jack Savage (quick fyi for those who don’t know him, he’s a deleted character that was the main protagonist of the early version of the film); while I may not be into SavageHopps that much (and this is pretty much the same thing with my TwiDash and ShadAmy topics..), but damn some of y’all are salty on him for trying to “steal” Judy from Nick. If people want to like Jack, let them. If people want to ship SavageHopps, let them! I mean hey, he’s got Skye (who’s another deleted character during the early process) and I’m all for SavageSkye y’all! Okay, yeah I know I brought them out of nowhere as this topic is supposed to be about Nick and Judy but at the same time I kinda had to bring that out there haha. Like I said we shall see where will their future will take them, and we can have our imaginations flow wherever the hell they go!

Ideas for Themes for Strange Magic Weeks (so far)

Suggested themes will be collected here. Rather than reblogs, this post will be edited as new themes are received (with some time delay if I’m not at the computer), so they can all be seen at once in the Strange Magic Week tag.

Deadline for suggesting themes is Wednesday August 9th. (So, if you submit a theme at 11:59 pm Wednesday night, it will make the list, but if you suggest one at 12:01 am Thursday morning, it probably won’t.)

On Thursday August 10th, I will create a new post - the Voting post. Send me an Ask, or Reply or Reblog the Voting Post, with your Top 5 choices for themes. The most popular seven will be the daily themes, and the next three (or four if we have another tie) will be the optional themes.

Voting ends on Friday August 11th. (Get your vote in before 11:59 pm on Friday night, though really I’ll probably still count it if it shows up before I get up on Saturday morning.)

I’ll post the final Theme List on Saturday so there’ll be a day to prepare and Strange Magic Week can start on Sunday. Themes will be in reverse order of popularity, so the one with the most votes will be on Day 7.

Today’s the 5th but I didn’t post this until evening, so there are, functionally speaking, 4 days to suggest themes, 2 days to vote for themes, and 1 day to get started before things start posting. (There is no ‘time of day’ you have to have it posted by, and I for one won’t be upset if people decide to use the themes out of order and post something on the ‘wrong’ day.)

Role Reversal. It’s been done, but it was on the theme list both times we’ve done this before, which suggests it’s a sustained interest.

Chat Room/Texting/Pen Pals. Characters writing to one another. The initial idea lends itself to a Human AU, but correspondence could also happen in the original setting.

Historical Fiction. Medieval, 1920s, Aristocratic Comedy of Manners, Jules Verne type adventure ... or the sorts of thing that might appear as ‘historical fiction’ in canon, like stories of past fairy royalty.

Roland Redemption OR Revenge Upon Roland. Some people want him to turn out to be not so terrible and some people want his head on a stick. He gets a theme day for his fans and anti-fans to express their views. (Could lead to fandom drama so may need to lay some rules of etiquette.)

Kids Day. Again, a repeat of what’s gone before, looking back into characters’ childhoods or forward to the next generation - or maybe draw games or toys you think characters would’ve played with as kids.

When We Are Old. A look into the characters’ future, in counterpoint to ‘When We Were Young’.

Arranged Marriage. AU where characters meet because they were arranged to marry each other, or sequel where they find out they’re betrothed to someone else but are already in a relationship? You decide!

Fake Dating. Usually leads to Real Dating, after the obligatory period of Mutual Pining Due To Unawareness That Affection Is Also Mutual. Could also be a way for asexual or aromatic characters to avoid matchmakers.

Soulmate AU. I’ve seen these before, mostly in Avengers fanfiction, and the idea seems to be you have a mark that matches your soulmate’s, or their name on you somewhere, or an intangible line linking you to them, or their first words to you printed on your skin (usually in their handwriting), or a countdown to when you will meet, or you don’t see colours until you meet them, or you share injuries, or there’s a telepathic bond, or what you write on your skin shows up on theirs.

Masquerade. Magical beings of some variety concealing their nature from a non-magical world, or a costume party, or possibly a Phantom of the Opera AU.

Star Wars AU. Because it’s Lucasfilm. Maybe the Millennium Falcon lands in the Fairy Kingdom, or there are Ewoks in the Dark Forest, or everyone’s just reimagined as members of the Rebellion and Empire.

Everyone Picks From The Previous Years’ Prompts. Getting another chance if you missed out on participating then!

Travel. Vacation? Business trip? Diplomacy tour? Who’s going? Where are they going, and why? How do they get there? What if they get lost?

Forbidden Love. This prompt is specifically intended to refer to ‘goblins courting during the Love Ban’, but it can refer to any forbidden love.

Proposal. Not just a marriage thing - it could be a business venture, or a diplomatic one, or a thesis proposal in a college AU.

Beyond Field and Forest. What other nations or regions neighbour the Dark Forest and the Fairy Kingdom?

Food. What do fairies and elves and goblins eat? Where does it come from? Cooking, farming, hunting, and foraging stories and pictures.

Existing Media AU. Crossover with another movie, book, game, or TV show.

Highlight Reel. Instead of creating new content, share your favourite parts of things that you, or others, have already made.

Continuation. Write the next chapter of, or a sequel to, something you wrote on a previous Strange Magic Week. If this is your first Strange Magic Week, write the next chapter of one of your works in progress, or a sequel to one of your other stories.

Merchandise. Strange Magic toys or costumes or jewellery or bookmarks.

Fill That Plot Hole. Explore something the movie either left unanswered or left ambiguous, such as the Imp’s backstory.

Canon Divergence. A point where the timeline splinters, such as what might’ve happened if someone in the Fairy Kingdom had heard Sunny yelling about his plan on the way to the Forest, or the Fairy King took it badly when Roland described himself as “even better” than the king in front of basically everyone.

Music Day. Choose your favorite song from the movie and make a cover. Can be singing, instrumental, collaboration, acapella - or, if you don’t want to sing, fancy calligraphy of the lyrics or suggested choreography.

Free Space. Like in Bingo. In case someone has an idea that doesn’t make the theme list.

Modern Fantasy.Take a modern AU of the story, but keep the characters as fae. Are they still in political power? Are they just regular citizens? Are fae the ones with the modern society, or are they hiding amongst humans?

Mass Cartoon Crossover AU

heyyyyy its uhhhhhh another fucking au writing from me

ties into this comic i did here, which i am making a sequel to

so if you wanted to hear my explanation for how shit like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, CN City, and canon crossovers might possibly work, clicky that readmore friend it’s about to get deep and overly thought-out

so like. basically: when a creator creates something, the universe for this something exists on another plane. the characters are all real, just more or less materially inaccessible to people on our plane. there are points in the various planes of existence where our plane and their plane meet, be the points natural or artificial. these points of meeting were used to film things like Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Space Jam, where visceral, fleshy organisms like ourselves could stand alongside the 2-D manifestations of our own minds. both humans and cartoons could enter the opposing side’s realm, but by no means is it natural or healthy for the state of the worlds, not to mention for the individuals crossing dimensions. as such, the scenes in both WFRR and Space Jam where any one person was not in their respective domain were filmed in intervals...

so now we’ve got two planes: ours, and the plane of our creations. like previously stated, each creation has a universe in which it exists and lives, a place where it is given purpose, a story, stuff to do, etc.. compared to our universe, these worlds are all incredibly small. though the sizes can vary wildly: from the universe of Ed Edd ‘n Eddy, which is more or less encompassed by the cul de sac that they live in, to the universe of Adventure Time (which feels expansive, but really is only made up of the places shown or mentioned in the show, and is by no means infinite like that of our own.) lets imagine that all of these universes are kind of tied together. think about wreck-it ralph when i say that there is a central location, a city probably, that they can all converge in and exist within.

to keep things homogeneous and as easy to digest as possible, lets assume the only universes that are inherently tied together are the universes from the same kind of media. 2D televised cartoons would all be tied into one place. 3D televised cartoons would converge in a different place. Anime/Video Games/all that good shit would tie in somewhere else respectively. We could imagine that this is because these similar universes are close in proximity as a result of being similar. and because they’re all so close, they all have an established point where they all meet. contrasting this, the convergence of two different kinds of media would be extremely rare and hard to achieve, but is do-able, and has been exploited by characters before (cite the Jimmy-Timmy Power Hour). for the sake of keeping with the natural order, these ties are temporary and will break off easily.

to illustrate this converging of similar universes, we could imagine this structure as a large central bubble with a bunch of other smaller bubbles surrounding it, each of them connected to the middle one by a thread.

DIRECTLY CONNECTED WORLDS

but !! these small, individual worlds can also be connected to each other directly! some of these connections are inherent, as they were part of their design upon their creation. a good example of this: the universe of Gravity Falls and Rick and Morty would have a natural thread connecting the two.

some of these connections can also be forged. these connections are typically the result of a crossover episode, and would exist between the worlds of Futurama and The Simpsons, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and Codename: Kids Next Door since they all had crossover episodes with each other. In all likelihood, the lifespan of these connections is probably dependent on factors like the earnestness of the episode(s) in question (whether they were done for a cheap cash-in or because the writers were genuinely invested in these characters meeting) and how compatible these universes are (things like similar visual styles and how much sense the crossover makes. the crossover between The Jetsons and The Flintstones makes way more sense thematically than the crossover between Kim Possible and Lilo & Stitch.

THE HUBWORLD:

this is best understood when you think about the old Cartoon Network City bumpers that CN used to play in between commercials. They were large, semi-realistic urban environments where all of the characters from the programming of the time would interact with the world and with each other. CN City could be thought of as a district of this larger city where all these worlds converge. this is a place that, regardless of art-style or compatibility, everyone can just exist alongside each other.

so not all of the cartoons live here. lots of them live in their respective worlds for their own reasons (their show may still be ongoing and they need to actually be there for it to happen, or maybe they just prefer their own world) but they may make trips into town to run errands, visit, attend university or even commute to their city jobs. however, after a character’s show has run its course, plenty of them make the decision to move permanently to the city.

we know that each character can leave their original universe and travel to the central connecting one, but can they leave the central one to visit another person’s universe? i would say yes. probably not for extended periods though. unless there is an existing connector between the two character’s worlds, visiting wouldn’t feel comfortable, and the characters probably just wouldn’t want to. i imagine that, while it’s not exactly illegal or impossible to visit, staying for a long time is frowned upon. again, we can refer back to wreck-it ralph for comparison. visiting is fine, but eventually you need to go home.

IMPORTANT FIGURES:

a character’s role in the city and to others is determined by a lot of things. usually, one would find a job they can perform with their unique skills and/or powers. I’ve headcanon’d the roles of a lot of characters already. some ideas I’ve had:

The Powerpuff Girls are easily the ones in charge of protecting the city. They head Homeworld Security, the various police departments, and have a lot of people working under them. They can often be seen patrolling.

the city is headed by a City Council and a Mayor (there is also a Head Judge in charge of the court system, but they don’t determine any legislation, they just enforce it.) The Mayor is kind of shadowy in the au at first, but it’s pretty obvious that it’s Mickey Mouse. He’s concerned with corporate interests for the most part.

the Council is made up of elected representatives, each coming from different big names in the cartoon world (Nick, WB, Disney, Hanna-Barbara, etc.) The Council Chairman tbh has to be Bugs Bunny. he’s iconic, charismatic, and experienced, and so has a lot of sway in how things operate; it only made sense that he go into politics. a crucial part of the “plot” of this au is that Bugs and Mickey are bitter rivals. It’s understood by most that Bugs should be the de facto mayor, but through underhanded means, Mickey stays one step ahead of him. while Bugs isn’t exactly innocent either, he certainly stands for different ideals. Bugs is definitely a man of the people.

Professor Utonium is the dean of the university as well as the head of its robotics department, their most successful STEM department. he teaches a few robotics classes. Dexter, Edd, and Phineas would have all studied under him at one point

Without a doubt, Warden from SuperJail! is the warden of what’s probably the largest and craziest prison in existence. Only a mind like his could contain the biggest threats to the hubworld’s wellbeing.

i’ve thought about the placement of a lot of other characters too, but i only wanted to list here the one’s integral to the structure of the city.

with that said, all of the villains original to the connected worlds are very much still real and still able to wreak havoc on this metropolis. some won’t have a reason to concern themselves with it, while others will certainly make it a target. this includes extradimensional entities like Bill Cipher, Him, and Aku, who wouldn’t exactly be contained in the city jail. a main concern of the city government is how to protect the town from these major antagonists.

CITY DISTRICTS:

i was talking about districts of the city earlier. another district i was thinking about is Toontown, a space relegated to old fashioned, classic “toons”. Like, Animaniacs / Tom & Jerry / Merrie Melodies / Steamboat Willie / Roger Rabbit -esque toons. the one’s we all understand as the physics defying characters who can pull material from nothing (hammerspace) as well as take a shotgun shell to the face and live. The nigh-indestructible, goofy-ass, slapstick, foundational characters of animated comedy. this is gonna be one of the few districts that is actually somewhat segregational. I imagine that society views toons in a weird, kind of split way. on one hand, the Old Toons are to be respected. they forged a path and laid a foundation in entertainment and have helped bring all of this into existence. on the other hand, Toons are also considered outmoded. classic slapstick has largely reached the end of its run. the iconic white gloves, cigars, and dynamite have all come to represent a bygone golden era full of its own problematic ideals. their shows are analyzed now much like modern psychologists would analyze Freud: no one can doubt the significance of the impact they’ve had, but the faults are widely acknowledged. (for example, modern cartoons would probably criticize older toons’ shows’ lack of diverse protagonists, rampant themes of racism / antisemitism / blatant use of tobacco / objectification of female characters, for being unfunny or unchallenging to the viewer, or for just being visually unappealing as some newer cartoons might believe.) as a result of this mindset, older Toons are the target of some prejudice but also some high respect. it depends on which group you’re talking to.

New Townsville (the one filmed for the CN City Bumpers). town hall, banks, business hub.

Toontown (the one filmed in WFRR) - area reserved for Toons

Endsborough - slightly evil, run down part of town. bars, gambling, etc. hangout for the unsavory.

University District - the campus, dorms, student accommodations

Hillwood Metropolitan Area - expansive, unspecific urban area, main marketplace, apartments, schools. underground cultural haven.

Jump District - upscale part of town, nice stores, ritzy condos. opposite of Endsborough. favorite hangout/residence of hero-types.

Middleville - suburban residence area, lots of families living here.

Jellystone - large park

THE GUILD OF CALAMITOUS INTENT

as one might imagine, the hubworld is going to be full of both heroes and villains. to manage the inevitable carnage, i thought i’d borrow an organization from The Venture Bros. the Guild of Calamitous Intent’s purpose (in this au anyway) is to fit villains with their arch-rivals and contain the amount of collateral damage their conflict creates. heroes and villains can only fight one villain/hero at a time, respectively. this is to prevent things like all-out fights between huge numbers of villains and heroes, which would destroy a good portion of the city. as well, there is a limit to how much destruction one pair of arch rivals can cause. charges are incurred otherwise. certain areas are entirely off-limits (schools, hospitals, etc. basically they follow the Geneva Convention here). the presence of the Guild would also be a good explanation for why villains only tend to target one hero most of the time. once one villain/hero is defeated, another one can take be fit to take their place. villains and heroes are both ranked in order of power and resources, and a villain is always paired with a hero of equal rank to allow for the fairest fight. arching outside of guild regulations is strictly forbidden and the Guild will hunt down a rogue villain/hero. groups of villains/heroes that are always together (the Teen Titans for example) will count as a single arch-able entity and will be ranked according to their combined power. So in this universe, Slade would be labeled as the Teen Titan’s arch-enemy.

while the Guild is originally a service for evil characters run by evil characters, they generally play a neutral role in the struggle between good and evil.

but there are bound to be evil doers who are too chaotic to follow guild regulations. these characters have to act in the utmost secrecy or simply be too powerful to be taken out normally; otherwise, the Guild will act upon them. the heads of the Guild are totally anonymous, and, while they’ve worked with the City before to impose certain regulations, they are independent of the government. All villains and heroes must be properly registered, but registered villains ARE NOT guaranteed safety from Homeworld Security. heroes and the police often work together to take down bad guys, and its a hero’s responsibility to keep their respective villain in check.

ANYWAY that’s what I’ve thought up so far for the overarching premise. I STILL NEED A NAME FOR THE CITY

i could just call it Big City a la Sheep in the Big City, but thats.... kinda dumb. idk i’ll think on it.

about 5 yrs ago there was this fresh new show, had some great ideas. the premise goes, Magical Characters From All Your Favourite Fairytales Get Dropped Into Our Horrible, Horrible World. where they get no happy endings (because apparently happy endings begin and end with meeting your Intended Mate but w/e noI’mnotsaltyatallhbu)

(That aside...) they mixed fairytales in a kinda fun way and a whacked up family tree, but it was cool when they started. so I decided, hey, why not write a fanfic for it. nobody ask me why I started with the Real World part of the show tho, idk, for the Angst probably. Modern AU with a lot of angst.

but also, this was the first time I was coming back to writing after a decent break. it was kinda about throwing ALL the ideas and tropes I could at the wall to see which ones stuck, or just... make all of them work somehow.

the fic quickly turned into ‘how about I write a history of this fantasy world’ of about 300 years (why?) and then became more like 1000+ years (WHY?) with a consistent mix-and-match of fairytales and popular stories with bits and twists. there’s One Thousand and One Nights, there’s Arthurian Legend, there’s the Princess Bride and Legend of Zorro and pirates and Dragons and Shakespeare’s plays (idek bro).

i really don’t wanna do greek mythology..... that shit’s weird for me on a good day....... ugh I’m probably gonna have to do greek mythology tho, it was, like, one of the possible explanations for the origin of Mad Eye Moody’s Eye, man

WHICH BRINGS UP ANOTHER POINT. I never actually intended to pull HP into this fic, but there are all sorts of hints and nods to other universes/popular works of fiction as you go.

this tho. this is the part where brains are actually horrible. because Brain one day up and said, well, this doesn’t have all that much to do with the show you started with, so, uh... you could... well in theory, you could profic it....

me: NO. too much to change in the parts that are show-based. and also, how do you explain Princess Bride references? am I supposed to change all the names of the characters who appeared in BBC Merlin?? (oy yeah—it became a fusion fic, too) how on Earth am I supposed to deal with the modern world characters and their storylines?

.... 4 months later ....

Brain: okay get this: Arthurian legend has been fucked by everybody six different ways, calamity and incest. it’s completely public domain. let’s not talk about The Princess Bride just now, tho. and get this: there’s enough difference between your stories and the original tale or movie that it probably isn’t easy to recognise. you’ll be fine.

me: ... why don’t I believe you... oh right, because you give me bad ideas, like Let’s Write Profic! No.

.... and a month after that ....

Brain: hey look so Dragons, right? they’re people, but they’ve essentially created a magical form for themselves for ‘protection’, yeah?

me: I’m making lunch, please don’t make me burn it

Brain: well, why would they need a gender?

me: ...th’fuck... you’re telling me they go dragonform to have clutches of eggs and solve any incompatibility problems thusly?

Brain: well, yeah. I mean if you had magic and wanted kids and adoption wasn’t exactly totally an issue for a population that likes to raise its young in nontraditional, sprawling families, why not? gender identity could be pretty flexible for them

Brain: base your timeline loosely on world history. pull in fairytales not just from Europe and mythology not just from Greece. they’re living in Africa, use that. go around the world, maybe check out Norse mythology. figure out what the deal is with how Dragon magic affected Agrabah, and then explain what it did to places between their city in the damn Sahara Desert and all the damn way into Agrabah, IT’S A DECENT DISTANCE—

Brain: okay, you basically explained the One Important Wise(ass) Person for your civilisation as a holdover of how they were created, i.e., one day an author sat down and wrote something, then decided to ‘step in’ and basically never left, which is how they get to see all directions any moment or event can theoretically sprawl off into?

me: I give up.

Brain: you could frame it as a story about a fanfiction. at some point you reveal that your main characters are actually written characters, and you’re really telling the story about someone writing it. There’s the Modern AU, there’s the Pirate AU, there’s the Princess Bride crossover, and so on

me: convoluted. probably still illegally infringing on something or other. kind of a hopeless premise? like living in a dreamworld? that’s... that feels... fake? unsatisfying? like happiness only happens there. you know that’s a lie.

Brain: ok, maybe. but you could try.

Brain: maybe you can even do it better.

me: oh, fuck you.

tbh I really think Brain might’ve won this round.

So if you’ve gotten this far in my tale of woe, pls feel free to rec me any sources for ancient myths and fairytales from all over the world, and some good history sources, because today I’m looking up whether Cinderella is based on a French fairytale from the 1700s or the 17th century, and also travel in the 1600-1700s (was it reserved to nobles/high-income folks? where did they travel to?)

Anyway, chances are it’ll be another 5-10 years before anything comes of this.

Likes:

I prefer plot and angst and adventure to fluff, though a nice warm fluffy scene can make a good dessert at the end of the pain and suffering. I lean more to f/f and m/f than m/m. I enjoy forbidden relationships. I love exploring the 'what if' spinoffs of a small change in a canon. I swoon for lovers who take dramatic risks to protect their loved ones.

I also enjoy detailed description of clothing/furniture/jewelry/pretty things in general. Not just heaping up brand names, but sensory detail.

Dislikes:

Please avoid sweeping tropey AUs like 'what if noir' or 'what if everyone was in high school'. I'm REALLY picky about comedy so it's probably not a good idea to go for wacky funny stuff. No excited rambling about pregnancy or babies. (Older kids are okay.) While I am okay with pretty dark stuff, please don't gorily torture characters to death on screen. If people gotta die, limit the details! I am generally not keen on crossovers. I dislike PWP unless it is exceedingly hot smut (see below).

Smut:

I don't require it, but I do read a good bit of filthy porn.

Kinks I find interesting: mild bdsm, pain mixed with pleasure, dubcon, sibling or cousin incest, strap-ons, futanari and other magical appendages, teasing, teenagers, drugs/magic with interesting effects, people making terrible decisions due to being emotionally overwrought or really really horny

PLEASE NO:

rape or painful sex that one party is not enjoying at all, inserting anything edible (licking off boobs is okay), aggressive face-fucking, choking, degradation, scat/watersports, bukkake, parental incest, anyone younger than teen, emphasis on 'virgin blood' (some writers make it a huge deal with tearing pain and fountains of blood, please don't).

Kate Monday was my idol and unrecognised crush. Her solving any short mystery and being awesome will please me. 80s, modern, California, globe-trotting, whatever. Could even go for a bit of an X-Files gag, where Kate and George are assigned to something really spooky and he believes the mystical explanation and she sticks to logic and numbers (and is proved right in the end). No shipping needed.

Optional crossover: Inspector Gadget. Penny Gadget grows up and joins the Mathnet team and Kate is her mentor and they do nerdy things together with NO BLONDE JOKES. No sassy Legally Blonde stuff, no overcoming sexism, just pure competence porn where they are good at what they do and everyone takes them seriously and it never occurs to anyone to doubt them just because of their hair/gender. I'm not shipping them together romantically though, too much age gap for my taste. But if you wanted to indulge me ridiculously, Kate could have a wife and Penny could be inspired to consider a girlfriend.

PLEASE NO KATE/GEORGE. George is married and I prefer Lesbian Kate.

It would be weird to go smutty here honestly. Keep it T?

Poison Ivy (1992 film)

Sylvie Cooper, Ivy

I was struggling through the confusions of puberty, Ivy was hot, this film left an impression on me. In a way it's perfect as it is, and trying to build any sort of happy ending for Ivy feels out of place, but on the other hand there's a lot of loose ends left after the story.

Throughout the film, there's a lot the audience never knows about Ivy, including her legal name. Did Coop know it? (Maybe, probably.) Did her father? (Quite possibly not). How do they handle all the legal responsibilities of her death? Were Ivy's stories about the aunt she was staying with true? How do they break the news? How does her funeral go?

What do Sylvie and her father have to say to each other about Ivy after the truth comes out? Does he admit everything that he did? How does he handle the guilt? How do they rebuild their relationship?

What is school like, afterwards? What rumors escape? How does Coop handle them?

Or - what if Ivy survives the fall? Seriously injured, possibly paralysed, but alive? How do they deal with her, once the truth comes out? Do they cover up her crimes? Do they keep her in their home? What happens to their relationships?

For AUs, what would have happened if Ivy had met Coop when they were several years younger, so she couldn't get her hooks into Darryl as easily? What if they met at summer camp and Ivy was just as messed-up and needy but the situations were different? What if the movie plot is actually a fantasy younger-Ivy spins about her future to her fascinated-and-appalled friend, who then has a chance to react to it?

Smutwise, I'm fine with Sylvie/Ivy, I'm okay with Darryl/Ivy but I would rather he not be the focus of the story (Sylvie catching them having sex has possibilities, or Ivy thinking about Sylvie while seducing Darryl)

The Parent Trap (Hayley Mills version)

Sharon, Susan

Two girls who are rivals clashing with each other are exiled to a camp cabin together to learn to get along. What better setup for sparks to fly?

Yes, that's right, I'm requesting twincest. I want the girls to develop a romantic and/or sexual relationship, BEFORE they realise they're actually related.

Ideally I'd like to read the whole trajectory from them being sent off together, the attraction building, and once they're established as a relationship, THEN have them find out they're twins and have to deal with the repercussions. Are they horrified, or determined to stay together? How does that affect their plans for their parents?

But I'm also fine with just plain smutting this and leaving the rest of the story for another day. How might these two get together, when they don't know any better? Catfight that turns into hatefucking that turns into something deeper? One of them is sick/injured/sad and the hurt/comfort melts their hatred for each other? They get curious about how alike they really are and check each other out naked, because 'we're both girls so it doesn't really count', and events get way out of hand?

If the incest squicks you, I will settle for after-the-film fic showing them trying to settle into their new lives together, dealing with each other's old school friends and so on. "Surprise twin" must lead to some interesting reactions, surely, and sharing everything won't always be easy when they don't have a common enemy to gang up on.

Darkangel Trilogy - Meredith Ann Pierce

Erin, Aeriel

OTP territory here.

I read the first book when I was fairly young and was, like many, drawn into the dangerous romance between Aeriel and Irrylath (though surely even then I must have felt it was slightly unfair that the text 'okayed' it by saying he wouldn't be beautiful if he wasn't still good inside?). I didn't find the other two books until much later, when I was older and more dubious about the 'romance' of a beautiful but abusive vampire whose true character she knew nothing about. Imagine my amazement as rivals and uncertain feelings began to cast doubt on that original romance... and maybe, just maybe, ended with the girl getting the girl. (And beyond that, letting me eat my cake and have it too, by building up Irrylath a little and giving the lovers of my childhood a brief beautiful moment together.)

So, okay, I have a lot of feelings about this canon. In my personal version of what-happens-next, Erin and Aeriel totally become lovers, Irrylath goes on a quest to try and win her back and in the process of his journey of personal discovery finds that he's actually happier elsewhere, and he and Aeriel at last meet again and then part as friends, content... but that's a whole novel in itself, at least.

Possible prompts:

A love scene between them in the series's poetic style (no need to be kinky here! just romantic)

One of them telling the tale of how they fell in love to their daughter? (These two can totally have science babies together.)

Some of Erin's adventures on her own in the time that they're separated during the books, and how she discovers and deals with her feelings about Aeriel?

Or the love epiphany on Aeriel's part, after the books - how does she realise her feelings are more than friendly, how does she reconcile them with her feelings for Irrylath? Perhaps while Erin goes on a trip alone to visit the Sea-of-Dust and Aeriel is alone with her thoughts?

World-building, figuratively and literally! What is life like in NuRavenna? How do they go about the process of restoring the world? What tools do they use and what do they look like? Spin me a picture!

While I dislike pregnancy fluff, pregnancy angst/drama might be possible here. What if that one night with Irrylath had a very unexpected result? Given Aeriel's new position and the history of the water witch, would she be panicked at the prospect? Would she be pleased to have a part of Irrylath with her always, or tormented by the reminder? How would Erin feel? Would Aeriel feel compelled to give the child away because of her responsibilities? Given her own history how would she feel about that? Will it even be possible for her to carry a child to term without more intervention, given her new body and all its changes? What if she ends up needing Erin's input somehow to stabilise the baby, resulting in a child born from all three of them?
