I have always found this shot to be one of my absolute favourites. Coriolanus has just had his first taste of blood, he comes back traumatised but can’t help but feel this overwhelming sensation of power. Power over another person, an innocent person. His father, Crassus Snow, a brutal man who fought against the rebels in honour of the capital, has begun to dig his claws into his son which is the beginning of Coriolanus questioning his morality…

I could truly talk about how many stunning shots in this film hold so much symbolic significance and value to Coriolanus’ story and the impact and importance it has on every other aspect of this film forever ��😩🫶🫶

One of the biggest arguments I’ve seen used by the Ob*d*l*s against Anidala, is that scene in the ROTS novel where Padmé says she could trust OW with the secret of the rebellion and was hesitant to tell Anakin and I just wanna say:

Padmé wasn't an idiot. She was an extremely intelligent and competent woman, perfectly able to understand that loving Anakin and thinking that he could be trusted with a certain politic-related matter were two very different things and reducing her choice regarding who to trust with an important political matter only on the basis of her feelings of romantic love diminishes her professionalism, and this is why I say y'all could never understand her.

Padmé didn’t have to "love" OW or even like him at all to know he was the perfect Jedi to ask for help in a secret political matter.

That's the point being made in the novel, she’s hit with the realization that Anakin in this particular moment could not be told this piece of info because of his relationship with Palpatine, and Padmé specifically mentions in the Junior ROTS novel that she didn't want to make Anakin “keep a secret” if he didn’t agree with their stance because it’d be “unfair.” So this also played a part in why Padmé didn’t think it best to inform Anakin about the Rebellion. It honestly had little to do with her actually lacking trust in him, and more to do with the circumstances she was in not allowing her to be open with her husband and her not wanting to make him choose between his wife and his “father figure.”

However, Padmé knows OW’s political ideas aren't tied to ONE particular person but to a philosophy, one which is closer to her own, at that point. None of this was ever meant to be hinted as “romantic” or even remotely insinuated as romantic. It’s strictly professional and even the tone of the scene makes that so abundantly clear.

All I’m saying is that, some of these proshippers are doing the most out here to try and prove their ship, like my loves? You forgot a very important thing called ✨ context ✨ and regardless of her rational thinking, Padmé still went out of her way to try and talk out all of this Rebellion secrecy stuff with Anakin when she confronted him in the scene where she asks if he ever thought they were “fighting on the wrong side.” Padmé didn’t trust OW in the same way she trusted Anakin (with her entire self and being) she had the level of trust and love for Anakin that was only meant for him.

Mixing up her unwavering faith in Anakin as her husband with her trust in OW’s devotion to duty as her comrade/ally is purposely deluding yourself, because the two aren’t the same and therefore can’t be compared. An example of this is: Padmé constantly putting more value to Anakin’s words over OW’s in the end of ROTS when he came to tell her of Anakin’s “crimes”. She completely disregarded what OW had claimed about her husband and instead made her way to where Anakin was herself, to ask him directly. Despite what the truth was, this is proof of her trusting Anakin unconditionally, and I didn’t even think I had to spell that out because it’s as clear as day.

In conclusion, Padmé didn’t trust OW more than Anakin, she just knew the circumstances she was in didn’t exactly make it easy for her to openly talk with her husband about these matters and that’s part of what played into the issues they had in ROTS, it’s exactly what Sidious wanted.

you playfully roll your eyes. “fine.”

you lean up to press a quick kiss to his lips. there corners of his lips quirk up when you pull away. nagi pulls out a chair next to you, quickly taking a seat and resting his head against the table.

“it’s funny,” you muse.

he tilts his head slightly in confusion. “what is?”

you cheekily smile, “the fact i pavlov’d you into expecting a kiss whenever i say c’mere.”

a pout tugs at his lips. you laugh at his reaction, reaching out to pat his head.

“whatever.” he sulks.

“don’t pout!” you poke his nose, “you’re getting something good out of it.”

he huffs, “you’re mean.”

“i’m not!” you snort.

he hides his face from your gaze, “i bet you did it on purpose.”

“i did not,” laughter spills from your lips when you hear his teasing tone.

“sei,” you wipe tears off your eyes, “i promise i didn’t pavlov you intentionally.”

he lifts his head to look at you, brows furrowed. “i don’t believe you.”

you roll your eyes, “you can pavlov me back if it’ll make you feel better.”

there’s a slight twinkle in his eyes when you say that. “really?”

“sure.” you shrug, “just make it something sweet.”

he frowns. you frown back, jaw dropping in faux offense.

“mine is cute!” you huff, “you receive a kiss.”

you cross your arms, “it’s only fair that i get to be pavlov’d with something nice.”

he stares at you, pouting, “fine.”

there’s a small pause.

“what should i do?”

you blink. “what should i know?”

“you did it first.” he mutters.

“i didn’t mean to!” you shoot back.

“yeah, sure,” his lips curve up slightly.

“fine,” you pout, “don’t believe me.”

a comfortable silence settles between the two of you. nagi rests his head back on the table, a slightly focused look on his face.

“sei.”

his head perks up at the sound of his name, a curious twinkle in his eyes. his eyes slightly widen at the mischievous look in yours.

you hold your arms out, a big grin on your face, “c’mere.”

im gonna be real after going into the tag every day for the past 3+ years and seeing every possible take and headcanon my bar is so low that i'm just happy we're in agreement that vriska is a girl

tgirl vriska is a well-supported read of her character, but not the only valid one in my opinion. that being said, if you're a hardcore cis vriska truther, you do yourself a great disservice by ignoring her dysphoric characterization---whether you read that as early-transition transfem dysphoria, lesbian butch dysphoria, alternian caste dysphoria, or any combination of the above.

i do not, however, read her dysphoria as transmasculine in nature, and maintain that vriska's gender (girl/woman) is extremely important in understanding her role in the story, her relationships with other characters, and how the concepts of heroism, protagonism, justice, and strength impact her narrative. a transfem reading does not detract from this, nor does it particularly enhance anything to me, someone who already read vriska as a dysphoric lesbian & therefore already accounted for some form of Gender to be going on regardless of the hypothetical birth-assignment situation.

basically, my personal opinion is that her trans status is a nice garnish but irrelevant to what already is a fascinating, compelling, and well-rounded (dare i say, strong) female character. the fact that she's a female character is more important to me than the fact (or headcanon) that she is a trans character, because i regularly see and cope with the most asinine and blatantly incorrect headcanons and takes about her on this earth. you're asking a man dying of thirst whether a gallon of ice water or a gallon of merely cool water is better.

my bar for sexuality headcanons is likewise on the floor. y'all don't have to agree with me on the lesbian reading but as long as we concur that she's wlw then everything is a-okay by me. my final message 2 da world: never go into the tags of your favorite character.

the holidays are so stupid and expensive and stressful and i have to be there for my family either way i just hate that it means going into public spaces with my disabled brother who my mom just simply trusts to walk around parking lots and talk to strangers the exact same way shes always done since grade school thats one thing that idk if i can bring up ever cus my aunt has (she does it to her too) and she just got mad and victimized herself. and then it brings me back to highschool having to calm him down and distract him after our car accident and even more recently having to find him in an airport in another state after i stopped paying attention for one minute and he fucking disappeared. and i love him i know i should be better about it but she always prioritized him 24/7/365 i didnt really have any other option to be bitter that i couldnt have an older brother or a present mom during an entire childhood of preventable abuse. i had to be there for her through her disabilities and health issues she refused to treat and simultaneously be there for my brother and calm him during meltdowns and make sure he comes inside at night after playing. ive tried to sympathize as much as i can but when i remember the way she tried to argue with me about calling cps because it might upset him i think that was unforgivable actually whether she remembers it or not.

but im still going to fucking cracker barrel with them in a couple weeks
