I woke up at five a.m. and checked the election results. Devastated, I tossed and turned until my alarm went off. I promptly turned my phone off, succumbing to my bedrot fate.

My roommate came in and tried to get me out of bed. My stubborn ass refused to move, despite her growing effort to take me out from my funk.

I got up because I had to (I reached a middle ground with my roomie). I needed to brush my teeth and go eat breakfast. The fate of the country is uncertain, but I still have responsibilities.

Today was really rough but I need to keep moving forward. I have people who care about me enough to physically grab me out of bed. I'm scared for myself, my loved ones and for the rest of the world who are at threat. I need to keep hoping, even if that hope is small.
