Hello !!! :3
I'm slowly getting through chapter 3 of hare fox moon and I've been wondering:
What's the writing process like??? Since in the notes of I believe chapter 1 it says its all from a discord channel so I'm really curious about how you and cupidkiss go about writing???
Also I love your responses to my comments !! Glad they bring joy :3
Signed- snail from ao3
The writing process of HFM kind of just… came out of somewhere? It got far far smoother as we went on. The first couple chapters initially were rough when released to AO3 but since then I have gone back one or two times and revised.
Initially the rp wasn’t even going to be uploaded to AO3. I just decided to archive the roleplay on a google doc because I had a long ass roleplay way back with another person and I regret I never archived it. It was only a couple chapters in me and Paigey realized we were onto something good. I took up the duty of archiving, revising, and uploading the roleplay because it was my desire to fan fiction it.
Why discord?:
Because me and paigey talk on discord and we felt it was most convenient to just make a discord server for keep everything organized.
General: commentary on the events on the roleplaying/ live reactions. It also functions as a catch all channel for any topic that isn’t captured by others.
Rp: channel where we take turns sending responses. Once a message is uploaded, I can copy and paste it into google docs (with minimal formatting issues).
Plot ideas: this was more active earlier in the story when we were organizing ideas, but it’s basically where we shot ideas and planned what would come next in an arc.
Prompts: similar to plot ideas but far more loose and general. This was a channel for art ideas, silly story ideas, character creation ideas, AU ideas, etc.
Art: where we exchanged art of the RP and characters. This channel mainly exists so I can find art quicker and don’t have to filter through something like general channel for a drawing.
Refs: author Bible channel. Quick place to find ref sheets, character desc, maps, mood boards, and whatever else we need to quickly pull up.
Photos: posts not made me either of us that we send to the server. Yet again exists so I can find images or links sent easier.
There are more channels but they are unrelated or AU related.
In rp channel we initially used Tubberbots for Boone and malt because…. Idk. Thought it’d be cool. Near the end I stopped using my malt tubberbot because it prevented me from existing my messages.
All the rp gets put into a doc and revised by me. Everytime we send a rp response, it gets a once over read, then another scan by me when I am in revising mode. Once there is enough written to be one whole chapter, I do a revise of the entire chapter in one sitting. It is during this step I turn all *italic words* into Italic words because discord copy and paste doesn’t copy the text effects across to google docs.
Once I do that final review, I copy it and upload it to AO3. There are 2 google docs. The first one got so full it would crash and so I made another one. It’s holding up better than the last one, even if it is longer.
Would I recommend roleplaying like this? Hmmm. Not particularly, but I can’t think of many better ways. Discord is familiar and accessible and even though it has formatting issues, it is not the worst.
-
I am happy you’re so engaged with this oc project! I promise you, even when we publish the last chapter to this fic, we will still be enthusiastic to answer and talk about it. :) never hesitate to send me or cupiidskiss asks about HFM.

Of Courses I Have Horses -Reflection
Ok this is mostly for me but if you have any feedback for the comic I'll leave my anons on for a few days and you can pop it over there!
Anyways proceed with caution, this'll probably be long. Also I'm probably going to be pretty critical of myself here but please don't worry or feel the need to defend me from myself. I actually love critique and if I really do hate what I've made I won't even be able to look at it.
Stats:
Expected Time: Three Weeks (Don't clown on me I have ambitions)
Actual Time Spent: Ten Weeks
Expected Length: 9 Parts (73 Panels)
Actual Length: 9 Parts (72 Panels + one big panel) and one bonus drawing.
Pros/the good:
FINISHED IT!!!!! :D I did it. I did it. I'm the best you know how it is!!! I've always been scared of bigger projects like these because of how intimidating they can get but I did it! I got to the end! And about 83.56% of the panels had an environmental background (not all unique but hey whaddyagonnado).
People liked it!! (unless everybody is lying to me *-* jk jk too many people for that to be true). Sure you shouldn't measure your success on other's opinions but it is nice to know that I'm not alone in my enjoyment of my work.
Updated it pretty regularly! Good to know if I ever want to make a real webtoon.
Horses Researched ✅ I probably have some blind spots having not actually interacted with horses all that much but eh. It is fanfic in the end.
Cons/the bad:
I don't like posting while writing/drawing. Too much pressure even if the pressure was kinda good to motivate me and it was technically imagined anyways.
Colors are ugly. I'm not sure why I chose that color of sky but hmmm.
Backgrounds are present but uninspired and bland. The colors contribute to this but also the fact that I didn't draw the backgrounds before I drew the people most of the time. I also was just referencing images from botw (if you couldn't guess) and this lead them to be flat and like they were not existing where the characters were existing sometimes.
Too wordy in some places. Despite the fact that I chose to do four panel chunks to practice brevity I ended up being too verbose in some situations. One of these was Legend's episode. I felt like people wouldn't get the joke so I over explained it in the dialogue but even then I still don't think people got it got it. This is usually fine but when you over correct and still end up failing it is bad because you end up failing both ends (so to speak). Also the words were not always that good or polished.
Characters were off model frequently. The horses were the worst part as their head shapes would change frequently. This is most likely a result of my lack of experience drawing horses (why I decided to go with a series where I would have to draw a bunch of horses no one will know).
Characters were also ooc (probably) Wild was a little too happy/silly, Four was a little too irrational, Legend was mean mean instead of more accidently mean, and I think the others were fine. They just didn't really get to showcase their personalities all that much.
Lessons for next time:
MAKE A REF SHEET!!! I had to go back and forth between old pages to get the colors and it was such a hassle. Made me not want to color which is bad because I already don't like coloring all that much.
Crank up the threshold on the bucket tool when coloring. Leads to more being colored in and less white bits to fill in later
Write it all out before!! Especially if short like this. Makes it easier.
Put the words before sketching dummy!!! Saves many headaches.
Speaking of which, maybe set the background to be grey so you get less headaches (maybe, unconfirmed if this was the cause of headaches).
Draw (sketch) the background before drawing the characters.
Add clouds to the sky.
Do wrist exercises! Real ones!
Conclusion:
Good experience all around. Many things learned about myself and my creative process. Still not a horse girl but maybe one day.
Anyways this is probably the last you will see of "Of Courses I Have Horses." On to bigger and brighter things!

hello!!! 🩸🟪 again. sorry for asking so early in the morning--i know you said you timed your last poast so i would see it so i feel bad for changing my hours but i had some extra free time. in the future you don't have to time your responses if you dont wanna. i peruse your blog at least once a week or so so ill probably find things ! and i dont wanna bother you first thing, thank you SO MUCH for that injoke guide! i'm like lvl 500 autistic so i had trouble figuring them out naturally. this makes things sm easier.
second thing... you have a bill cipher fictive? that's inch resting. i think i might also be plural too but i'm kinda off and on about it. but when u said that i looked back at the post they made and it was tagged with a #👁️? and then i looked at your other posts and there's a few tagged with a #👑. and your posts are usually tagged with #callie.txt.exe. so i thought hm. so i don't make any mistakes--what's your bill cipher fictive's name? how many people are there? is callie around the majority of the time? this is probably invasive so you don't need to respond to any of this JKHJBGVFCDXRCFGVHBJKNHBGVFCDXCGHBJKNHJBGVFCDGFVHBJ. also ive definitely Won and have obtained zero shelled feelings ever absolutely.
third. I LOVED OIL AND WATER!!! thank you sm. i haven't finished reading through all the other fics you reblogged though so when i do ill send you my thoughts on all of them in a different ask. you are so Based but not in a weird way in like a cool awesome way. fourth. i.. do rlly wanna dm you but my main thing is that i kind of Lost access to my main account a bit ago? idk how i was just stupid and Forgor
so ive been slowly trying to rebuild it on this new one. problem is, it's not Done yet. i'm worried im going to dm you and it will be Incomplete and you will forever perceive me as a Flawed, Unfinished version of myself. it would simply tarnish the wonderful 🩸🟪 brand, you know?
so i think.. if i do dm you, it'll be in a little while. i'll probably create a dedicated sideblog for the occasion when i do, ok? i do wanna hear you yap in a more controlled environment.
last thing i swear. so this actually has NOTHING to do with anything else you said but im like freaking out. so i checked your youtube channel and i noticed your description.
television for a head.
this is cool and all and your sona is SO AWESOME but this also Sucks for me because this ENTIRE TIME i've been drawing you as a computer! i have so much callibones fanart of you as a fucking desktop where it's like nested so your monitor has a little desktop assistant that is also you and it goes on forever and ever and ever with even smaller callies and that idea was WRONG!! i shouldve known from the antennae but i thought that was a bug thing not a tv thing (which, by the way, excellent choice on your part. when i'm not an assembly of shapes, i do enjoy being an insect.) but i was a FOOL!!!
so this makes me realize hey wait what else am i getting wrong? this thing is colored differently in this image than all the other images. what's the correct thing to do? and i came to the conclusion that i need to just ASK YOU! (wow who could've guessed. you're so smart.) yeah! i am! the smartest in the whole world even
if you happen to have any, i need reference sheets of your sona. if you have reference sheets of the alternate variants (or are those headmates? i saw one was called calliope and i think there was a bill cipher one so is that the fictive? i don't know but i want to draw them) those would be appreciated too. i have made a grave error and i must resolve it immediately.
with that. um. thank you for humoring me, id like to thank all our sponsors for getting me to write this ask, i will join the discord servers and message you one day because i am Not Afraid of Anything in the Whole Wide World. toodles
HELLO 🩸🟪! hope i didnt keep you waiting too long.... wanted to finish my ref first! PLUS i got a whoooole buncha busy goin on so im SUPER occupied.... but now i got time just for YOU! i definitely didnt time this one im just postin it now that i Can.... but im sure you can use the tag and your weekly browsing skills to find your way back here. hehehehe.
SECOND: very observant! yes, while we haven't made an official post for it, calliope uses the crown emoji and calcifer uses the eye emoji! that's his name, by the way. in fact, here's the whole gang, labeled with NAMES & PRONOUNS!
("who the fuck" is me, sorry. hehehehe.) (putting the id on this one out here so its easier. from left to right, you got:
the commissariat (she/they) in red, in a fancy longcoat with a jacket makin a serious pose
me, callie (it/fae/she) in green, in my usual "have a rotten day" top that shows my bra a lil and my short skirt
calliope (she/thon) in purple, wearing thons over-the-top storm supervillain dress
calcifer (he/she/it/they and it insisted on including "calcifae/calcifaer" as well) in yellow, with a suit, a shorter skirt than mine, a sword, and the bill cipher triangle-eye pose
and callyris (she/it) in pink, with short-shorts and a crop top fully showin its maintenance panel.
i'm around the majority of the time, but there's five of us includin' me and Calcifer! he's more than just bill cipher, btw. he's he/him lesbian bill cipher! hehehehe. he's also like genuinely growing as a person and i'm REALLY proud of him. also it's okay i have shelled one feelings too. calcifer says you're probably pretty easy to take advantage of and should call her.
THIRD: YAY! cedardivine, who made that peanutiel story, JUST made a separate post the other day with all thons blaseball writing. so GO CHECK THAT OUT! i sure plan to. :-D
FOURTH: cmon you dont gotta brand. EVERYONES flawed and unfinished! including me! im fucked upppp dont put me on a pedestal. im incomplete too!!!!
FIFTH HERES MY REF!!!! i made it just for you (genuinely!) so you GOTTA show me your fanart now because omg? omg???? omg???????? you made fanart of me? sobbing and crying??
also youre KINDA right about the desktop assistant thing! i fuckin love the nestedness so much and theres definitely some stuff where i imply that! but thats because.... so the actual sona is a desktop assistant virus thing. but fae takes on the appearance of a tv-head bot! so when fae's in The Real World fae uses a Made Physical version of that same cartoony self to walk around in. and on that robot's an OS running... the actual desktop assistant! so while it's not infinitely nested, you're right that my reality is Layered. i wonder if it could go deeper than that....
theres not a lotta art of the others YET but heres SOME FUCKIN AWESOME ART MY WONDERFUL FRIEND OF RIGORMARCY DREW OF THON so lookat that.
and here's calcifer's never-before-posted discord pfp, just for you:
calcifer sez: THERE'S MY CARD! GIMME A RING IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A NEW DEITY TO CHAT UP. THE SHELLED ONE MAY BE DEAD, BUT I'M AROUND FOREVER! FOREVER.
so. do what you will with this information.
IN CONCLUSION please send me your fanart if you wanna and feel like it because thats SO AWESOME that you made some... literally misty eyed.... ill look forward to your next correspondence whether i know you as 🩸🟪 or as whatever your name is on whatever platform you wanna reach me with! feel free to shoot me a friend request on discord if tumblr aint workin for ya. tell em 🩸🟪 sent ya! because that's you. and you can send you. But not in the mail, unfortunately. 1984.
UNTIL NEXT TIME GOOBY!!!!

hi hina! in terms of your art, what would say is your strength(s) and what is your weakness?
!!!! omg ily mariam you're always so good at asking rly thoughtful questions that make me take a step back n Ponder,, tbh im not sure if this is just a Me thing or if every artist experiences this but i feel like my main strengths/weaknesses in my art are just reflective of the strengths/weaknesses i have in all areas of my life .., i am not going to unpack that too much tho smile :)
strength(s)
a bitch is Persistent !!! when I decide to learn how to do something i put in 200% to learning it and learning it Well . ths how i got good at drawing a lot of the things im told i'm "good" at --i did it with hands i did it with torso anatomy i did it with clothing ,, i did it with yuuji's gd hair,, the list goes on !! also i think this is maybe related to why i love making character reference sheets ? granted they take forever and i hate it while i'm in it but at the end of the day i am a proud character sheet Advocate. if u ever want to really hammer something into ur brain .. character sheets.... angles......just sayin ! shit works.......
character design listen i dont want to sing my own praises too much but character design rly is one of my favourite kinds of art to do and i think . im maybe a bit good at it.,, idk,... :3 fr though I put so much time and effort in2 the research and ref compiling and it takes Hours on pinterest and 543254 open tabs but finally getting to put the pieces all together to make something cohesive makes all the pain worth it . whether it's for an oc or an existing character i love designing outfits or alternate forms that Tell u something abt the character i love translating personality into clothing choices and silhouettes and colours and hiding little defining Traits and !!! idk i just have so much fun :'> it reminds me why i love art
weakness(es)
kind of the dark side of persistence, a bitch is Stubborn and Resistant to Change (not just an Artist Flaw(tm) but also a recurring Character Flaw i need to work on gsfdhjfsgd) . I find i don't know how to easily break habits or push myself outside of what's Worked for me in the past, even if i know that other, better ways exist ,,. like I joke abt working harder not smarter and complaining about it but that's not even a joke that's just what I do because I'm too afraid of being Bad at something or trying something and having it not work so I just stick to what I know :( smh if comfort zones r meant to b left why r they comfortable.......
perspective/rooms/dynamic poses,, look ik im microdosing on these rn but a lot of it is still so HARD ,, improvement jail.... :( unique poses r starting to come easier with reference but rooms i hate u . how do u make objects look like they are in a scene and not on it . how to give objects Weight ????? i dont get it...

Artist Asks: #5, #15, and #19
5. Anything you haven’t drawn yet but want to?
Ref sheets for my OCs! I have so many I want to make and so many I want to update! By the time I finish one though, I improve slighttly or adjust the format and want to go back and redo the last one I did. It's a vicious never-ending cycle ;u;
15. Biggest artist pet peeve?
This would be poorly formatted speech bubbles. I'm still learning how to letter, and I make mistakes too, but even before I drew comics, there were a couple things that bothered me.
It hurts my soul when people draw speech bubbles before laying out the text. By this, I mean putting the speech bubble in first and then resizing your text to make it fit inside of the speech bubble instead of the other way around. If the sentence is too long, break it up into multiple bubbles! If the sentence is too short, make the bubble smaller! Unless the character starts whispering or yelling, speech in comics should always use the same font size. Consistency looks nice and makes it easier to read! If the text gets transformed to be taller or wider or something just to fit in a speech bubble, it looks messy. If the text doesn't fit the speech bubble correctly, RESIZE THE BUBBLE NOT THE TEXT. Most of the time, this happens because of a lack of planning. A comic is about the drawings, but it's also about the text, so the text and bubbles should be part of the sketch process too.
This also applies to speech bubbles that look cramped. Let your text breathe!!! It doesn't need to be a giant gap but there needs to be a gap. I don't use a specific number of pixels — usually I just try to make sure there's enough space for a capital letter between the text and the edge of the bubble. This can vary and that's fine! BUT your text should never be about to hit the edge of the bubble. It should never feel cramped.
19. Favourite character(s) to draw?
Here's some of my favourite OCs! I like drawing magic, flowy clothes, sharp teeth, and fun expressions so my favourite characters tend to have those traits in common.
Outside of OCs though, I do also enjoy these two:

Snapper and Stinkpot Character Ref: Angel!
Been meaning to do this for a looong time, but I’m going to be taking the time to make character sheets for some characters in my au. More about Angel under the cut!
Angel Nadine Bridge - 15, she/her
Birthday: March 5th (Pisces)
Angel is a sophomore in high school and is a co-captain on the field hockey team with her best friend, Marina. Things take a turn for the worse, however, when Marina mysteriously disappears just before school starts.
Angel’s family is from Jacksonville, Florida, but she and her brother Ryan moved to New York to live with her grandmother when she was little. Her older brother practically raised her, and she looks up to him a lot. When she was 12 she got her ears pierced and her mom hated them, so she’s gotten more piercings over the years to piss her off. Ever since she was little, Angel has seen the world a little differently from others, and while some people might call it synesthesia, it might turn out to be something a little more?
Songs that make me think of Angel: Lost Kitten by Metric, Any Colour You Like by Pink Floyd, Stupid for You by Waterparks
Light Spoilers for the AU: Angel has a hard time admitting it, but she has a really bad crush on Casey Jr. So she does what any reasonable teenager would do and bullies him any chance she can get. Nose? Wack. Gap tooth? Gross. His smile is so stupid she can’t even. 😒 I heard somewhere that daughters fall in love with people like their dad’s, so I’ve kind of taken that and ran with it when I was writing her as a love interest for Casey. (Casey is the daughter in this analogy, lol.) Angel shares a lot of similarities with Leo! She’s a natural leader, loves to annoy the people closest to her, and is a massive attention seeker. Also her head is shaped like Leo too because that makes my life easier.
Wait, isn’t she a little familiar? Yes! Angel appears in TMNT 2003 and in IDW. This is my interpretation of her in the Rise universe. 😊✨ I grew up watching TMNT 2003, and Angel was my favorite character. I haven’t gotten very far in the IDW comics, but I do like Angel’s design there too and used it as inspiration. My Angel would absolutely dress up like them (maybe not as Nobody or whatever the hell she’s wearing to Casey and April’s wedding tho). Also fun fact, I don’t pay attention to how long her hair is at all whether it’s up or down. It is the exact length it needs to be in that moment. In my initial drawing of her she had green eyes, but I don’t really draw any of the characters with eye colors so they can be whatever unless I change my mind. In real life I think her hair is the same color as Casey’s but I draw her with dark purple hair so she stands out more from him and also because PURPLE.
Sunshine Turtle Casey

4, 6, and 10 for durge creator asks?
I realised while typing this that I needed some visuals, so apologies in advance for the badly edited drawings XD
How did Durge come to be? Why them? Was it a vibe you tried to capture or a specific visual you wanted to represent? Did you borrow them from previous works or were they handcrafted for this story you have in mind?
For this question, I'll talk about both Zeke and Shrike (as you had asked about Zeke before)
Zeke was a demon hunter OC from a previous fandom with his own unique lore that I adapted for BG3. He went from being a demon hunter that used a weapon imbued with the soul of a demon (called Caedes) to being a Warlock/Ranger that signed away his soul to a devil (called Caedes) so he could help the devil that raised him. He was created as a durge for in-game shenanigans, but as he was born in the Moonshae Isles it had some interesting lore implications— namely a devil adopting the spawn of Bhaal as his own son to fight the gods. His whole backstory is completely non-canon and is a bit of fun between me and my buddy. He's affectionately referred to as 'silly durge' or 'our dumb son', which just makes him dating Gale much more entertaining.
Shrike is my serious attempt at playing a resist durge. I was curious about how a paladin trying to resist their urge would work, whether their oath or urge would prove strongest. It was also decided early on that they would romance Astarion. Most of their history remained pretty vague until I played more of the game, so their pre-tadpole story only really developed fairly recently. Not that Shrike remembers any of it.
Personality or looks, what came to you easier?
Always looks first. I knew I wanted an androgynous tiefling with an autumnal colour palette, mainly to contrast Breoch's cool-toned/wintery palette. Shrike's personality is much less developed than Breoch's, namely because I haven't had them occupying my brain for as long, so I'm only now reaching a point where I feel I could write fic for them. I find Shrike far easier to draw how I want them than write for them in character.
Is their personal story represented in their overall design? Do they carry any mental scars or physical alterations from the shit that happened to them?
Shrike has a few subtle hints about their story in their design (which I will need to make clearer when I finally draw their ref sheet).
The most obvious feature is their eyes: they originally had two flaming red (dragonborn) eyes, but lost one to Volo. It's surprising how much the blue eye softens their face— much like how their personality softened when they were no longer Bhaal's chosen.
They also have red spikes along their tail, similar to the spines on the Slayer form. Plus it's a subtle indicator that they're not a 'true tiefling'
Their horns are tipped with red, blood-stained some might say, and the markings on their face appear more like veins or flowing blood that moves and changes similar to Orin's skin. At least, that's my excuse for drawing them differently every time
Finally, I deliberately didn't give them any scars apart from the one from Volo. They usually fight in plate armour meaning that injuries are rare and, as they have Lay on Hands, they would usually heal a wound before it scars.
Now at risk of making a long post even longer, here's a bonus Bhaal's Chosen Shrike in their Bhaalist plate armour:

Entry 8
10/9/24 - 10/14/24 Logs
10/9/24 - I GUESS WE DOIN' ANIMATIONS NOW!
So initially during this work period I was attempting to do some coding to get this player and camera movement system DONE, but I've realized it's a bit hard for me to focus when working in-class and also missing my second screen makes working in unity and coding stuff a bit of a pain. Not impossible of course, I've done it before but it definitely slows down my workflow compared to when I'm at home and can focus better. So because I wanted to be productive this class period I decided to start getting a jump on Doc's player animations, as while it's still far off my internal due date for that is sometime next month.
(there's art in this one, hit read more!)
I knew I wanted them at a 3/4ths angle instead of having a front, back, and side sprite. I mean, they'll still have a front and back sprite technically but no left/right so that frees me from needing to animate the walk, jump, land, and whatever else for those. Making things easier animation-wise isn't the only reason I've opted for this of course, honestly the biggest reason why I'm doing this specific style is because I'm drawing inspiration from how the characters are displayed in the paper mario games and bugfables, the 2D characters in a 3D world (would they be 2.5D then…?). Stylistically I've always thought it was neat and so I want to try and replicate that myself in my own silly little project.
So here's our first problem: I don't really have a clear ref of Doc's new design at a 3/4ths angle. I had an idea in my brain as to what it looked like but nothing on paper yet, most of my struggle was positioning the eyes on their mask.
At first I tried to pull from the turnarounds I had done of their new design, which got the body's position and proportioning down but the eyes just seemed off to me. Not that this go was inherently "wrong" but I felt like the eyes could be positioned or stylized better. So I cracked open my sketch book (something I need to be doing way more) and tried to just draw their head from this angle over and over, and eventually I landed on one I liked.
Although because I am not the most steady artist, they were a bit slanted. Easy fix though, I just popped em into clip and edited the body so everything is posed where it should be and then made another sketch over that to make some more tweaks. This whole thing took a little over an hour but eventually I landed on a "sketch" I liked (it's a bit too clean to be a sketch honestly lol).
Then to animate the idle I just nudged some of the parts I thought would have some wiggle if the character had a slight bounce in their idle (so the ears, cape/clothes, hair) and I think I like this lower frame rate style. Again, drawing inspiration from paper mario 64 specifically.
Overall with this specifically I probably spent like, 3ish hours? I mostly worked during the latter half of class after trying to code wasn't working for me in the moment. Next, I plan on getting the motions down and hopefully roughing out the animations for the walkcycle and jump. I don't think it'll take me very long, maybe 3ish hours total if I run into trouble with figuring out Doc's motions, but that'll be for next session.
10/11/2024 - 10/12/2024
More animation yippee!! today I'm working on the walkcycle and jump if I can get to it. But first I realized I didn't make a back idle animation so I threw that together in like 20ish minutes
Anyways, I started by gathering some image references of animated walkcycles, as well as some sprite sheets from paper mario 64 and bugfables as I wanted to see how the walkcycles in those games were handled. I also pulled up an old walk spritesheet I had on hand from an older project that had a character with similar leg and body structure to Doc.
In my first go I decided to pretty much ignore my refs and try to see if I could get a decent looking "down" motion as Doc does technically have a bend in their legs, but this didn't really work out. Also I definitely overanimated the arms for a 4 frame cycle.
So on my (unfinished) second and third goes I more closely followed my refs and previous work. I realized that my contact should be where Doc goes down the lowest, not the pass. Its. been a minute since I've animated a walkcycle. Eventually I found something I liked so I'm calling this done for now. Both the front and back have some jank I gotta work out but I'll save that for when I'm doing cleanup.
Onto Jumping! this should be a lot easier since there's only really 3 key poses I need to do (wind up/land, jump up, and falling). I think in the future I might add some more motion but for now here's the roughs that took maybe about a little over an hour or so I wanna say.Again they're super rough but I anticipate they'll look a lot better when they're moving around in engine.
10/14/24 - Back to Coding
womp womp. I gotta get this done though. I actually spent some time yesterday on this as well, mostly researching, to no avail. I was getting closer though… and today I won. I finally beat the camera problems. and in the most stupid way because it was just ONE (1) line of code I had to add and then do a bit of cleanup in the camera manager but the cinemachine is FINALLY angling properly around the player character.
That took a stupidly long amount of time to figure out but all we need now is the scroll wheel zoom… which I actually anticipate not taking as much time! I have an idea as to how I'm handling it. I have the body controller set to 3rd person follow, so all I really need to do is figure out how to adjust the camera distance through code and tie that to my scroll wheel inputs.
And after some research I got the camera distance tied to my scroll wheel inputs. For the time being I just have the inputs tied to the min/max zoom in/out but when I work on this next I'll be smoothing that out and making my final adjustments to the camera for now. Overall I wanna say that I was researching/playing around with the camera stuff for 3-4 hours total today? It's hard to say. What I DO know is that with this I am back on schedule which is relieving to say the least.

i don't post my OCS anymore but I've got. Way too many DND characters lmao 😂 my main changeling is a pirate captain named Los/Lish, she's got some swag and a crew of misfits and then ive got a changeling monk named Kahl who is very quiet and very reclusive who has little background so far
Tbh now that u mention it idk what's stopping me from starting a campaign on discord, there's all sorts of bots for dice rolls and initiative and it'd certainly be easier to arrange 🤔 many thoughts to think about
I feel u on not having comm money 😔 luckily I can draw but the energy has been so not there for ref sheets n stuff. Picrews such a slay for low energy days too I use it all the time
Oooh i love that!!!! i have a pirate rn (though she's a human) in an Eberron campaign! What draws you to make changelings so much? :3
HELL YEAHHH if you need more online resources lmk i don't run any campaigns myself but i have friends who do and i can ask about all the starter stuff
i'm trying to work on my crochet to try and sell for comm money lol or even art trades would be awesome. In the meantime tho yeah picrew and other doll creators have always been my best friend for OCs. Bless all those artists

thinking thinking thinking thinking very hard
if i do one tapv chapter per day then the main story would be done in 6 more days so thats ok. then the two sidestories. then the zines. then any other extras i have left. ok thats settled
then its the r1999 transcript. 1.1 and 1.4 are fully completed, someone just has to give em a look to check for spelling errors and shit. 1.2, 1.3 and 1.5 are pretty barebones as of now. i could focus on 1.5 since its on-going and makes things much easier. then leave 1.2 for later once. i could do... 3 or 2 main stages per day, since my wrist is still healing
im kinda burnt out from writing so the writing blog is gonna be shoved aside for now. the afflatus thesis requires more research so that is also on hold until i get all info from 1.5. i also just wanna draw, and i have one big commission to work on and so many smaller projects
the FMN piece just needs rendering, the new sprites for spina venatores need the manus uniforms and then color. then the 1.5 skins. then tattoo work and practice, i could try doing the afflatus logos. theres also aianteia but im not looking at him rn hes the least of the priorities. then reworking momus and oizys since hades 2's test dropped and everyone got hotter
and all these reworks and sprites can work for artfight refs. i should make the genshin and nsr OCs invisible bc i couldnt care less abt them rn. right and that also means i have to organize information for everyone's sheets. ophis (touchstarved) can be lumped with ophis (dnd) bc theyre essentially the same guy. and i have to organize my profile too
i also have to work on some merch bc i want r1999 stickers for my redbubble. and i have to actually get that pngtuber program and rework the whole design. then theres the revolutionary utena anime somewhere in there in my brain, which can wait until we finish the anime. ok ok ok ok

Hello! this is your random anon question of the month! (or however often it ends up being.)
YOUR QUESTION IS:
Do you find character sheets help you when you are designing OCs? What are usually the most important things you'd put on a sheet if you use one? If you don't use one, how do you organize OC lore?
Oooo! This is a really good question.
When I am designing characters I don't tend to make ref sheets anymore! This is mostly because I like the freedom of changing their designs as I work out their story. I do doodle them, and come up with a simple here's what they generally look like, but it might not be coloured, or be really sketchy, or just be a portrait. I also find character sheets really boring to make, so skipping that step makes it easier for me to keep motivation. I do often still end up with a design I'm happy with, but I don't like to "finalise" anything, unless another person is involved in which case I'll make a character sheet. Also that doesn't mean I don't draw my OCs a lot, I just don't make a red sheet for them.
I don't make character sheets, but I do write down basic information about them at the top of my document. Generally it goes something along the lines of: name, age, gender, pronouns, sexuality, some important traits, and then maybe some fun facts at the end. I remove traits that aren't strictly necessary to the story though. The important traits are generally tied to the story, or things I need to keep consistent, like "this character injured their right arm," or "this character is autistic, here are the symptoms they have." This means as I work out a story I can reference these points as I go.
Anything that doesn't have to be EXACTLY the same throughout the story, or might change as I go more in depth doesn't get written down as a note. I might like the idea of a characters favourite colour being blue, but maybe I find that the story works better if they prefer purple.
Note: I do change the format of my notes depending on how much information needs to be consistent and number of characters. For example (although not my OCs) for "Integration" I have note categories like: schedules, diagnosis, and opinions on plot relevant problems." This means I can more easily find how these characters opinions differ, and write medical scenes because their diagnosis are all in the same place.
After I have some basic information down, I just start writing, or drawing! I find it a lot easier to make good characters if I don't assign them personality traits, and instead think of them as people. This stops me from making flat characters that don't hold weight. If I have an idea (like a character liking he colour blue) I might draw/write a short blurb that's relevant to that idea so it's down, but it feels less official than a note. This also keeps my notes tidier so I can find information that is actually relevant and necessary.
Ex) Unless a character is gonna need a blood transfusion multiple times and I want to mention their blood type I don't need it in my notes, but maybe I'll write a blurb about them donating blood and get an idea of how they would handle that situation. That gives me the chance to think about details like: are they scared of needles? Would they be upset if they don't get the good kind of juice box? Why are they donating? After that I can draw parallels between that blurb and the plot to see how they would react to larger things. If they are donating because they wanted free food, I might be clued into how they would react to their rations running low while adventuring.
To sum this up: I don't create official sheets for anything I might want to change with time, but if it is set in stone and needs to be consistent, I will write it in my official notes where I can easily reference it. This helps me to be creative and change character traits for the story, but also keep important details consistent!
Ex of a ref I have below the cut!
This one is interesting cause it shows the flexibility of this system! In this story the characters more represent ideas. Leslie represents denial, and accidentally causing harm. Her story shows how by acceptance you can have healthier relationships and stuff. The sketch shows her general demeanor and an example of something she might wear. I know I want her to wear black and white clothing to represent the harm of black and white thinking. The sketch is there to remind me of that them in her clothing, but it isn't clean enough for me to feel bad about changing anything.
Thank you for the ask!
And if you read this entire thing... Congrats! You won reading a giant info dump about organising character info! (Thank you!)

I wanna hear about your mha OC’s! Do you have ref sheets?
oh, sure!
first of all I just wanna say that these are not self inserts, and they are not super unique and cool, and will not be used for anything besides me drawing their costumes and concepts and writing their backstory for entertainment for myself only! they do not fit into the storyline of mha at all, except from being in set in the same universe.
meet my BNHA OC’s, I guess ~
🌸 F l o r a
name: Flora Aguillard
age: 25
pronouns: she/her/they/them
location: born in Southern France (Villefranche-sur-Mer, a small costal town), lives in Toulouse (France) with her fiancé, Libitina
occupation: pro hero / florist
quirk: jardinière tout puissant (all powerful gardener)
power: she can make any existing flower or plant grow and prosper, to sizes they wouldn’t be able to naturally
drawbacks: she cannot create plants, they have to already exists, so she usually carries seeds with her everywhere. she also needs a lot more water and sunlight than a normal person, and if she dies, everything she has grown will die with her, so she cannot make housing etc out of plants safely.

name: Libitina Iordanou
age: 27
pronouns: she/her
location: born in Greece (Ano Syros, small, sleepy village), lives in Toulouse (France) with her fiancé, Flora
occupation: pro hero/painter
quirk: kátochos (possesor)
power: allows her to be possesed by spirits, making her able to have hightened physical powers while she’s possesed, like floating, high speed, high pain/damage tolerance etc
drawbacks: she cannot pick and choose who posseses her, and the longer she is possesed, the more control she gives up to the spirit, which can be very harmful to her or her surroundings. only an iron ring placed on her left pinkie finger will banish the spirit, and getting that on when the spirit is un-cooparative is basically impossible. she also hears and sees shadows and whispers everywhere.
there they are!
together they basically make Persephone, imagine their kid if they could have one, haha!
I made them European and set in Europe simply because I live here myself, and I have been to all places mentioned, so it’s easier to put i details etc! Flora’s home town is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been!
I know Libitina’s quirk is kinda iffy with the fact that spirits would have to exist, but idk, they are literally just made for my own joy, so who cares! <3

Here’s Ref Sheets for all the wolves in my prints. I spent a bunch of time on getting the fur patterns right for these guys but it made making everything much easier when drawing.
I had so much fun designing these guys and it was great practice. Maybe I’ll do more wolves in the future. Probably not for a little while tho.
I included the CMYK colours I used as many of the flags colours aren’t in the CMYK range. When paired with shadows and highlights you can make it look a lot closer to the intended colours.
If you want to use these designs for anything then go ahead!, they’re all free to use if you want to. Credit or reblogs are always appreciated.
✨Everything Pride✨ - Wolf Masterpost
A few more character sheets under the cut
Here’s some extra character sheets for Aceflux, Aroflux, Recipromantic, and Reciprosexual. As they had different flags I thought it would be good to include them in case I needed them separate.
Here’s a plain ref sheet if you can use if you want to.

Zib heyyy! I want to start doing commissions soon but I have no idea how and where to start. I mean yeah I'll make a comission sheet and specify stuff I know those basics. But like how do I kinda know that people would actually comission me for stuff? How did you know when to start and like what was your whole process like? Don't mind me I'm just trying to ask about this to some artists I admire and who do commissions what their experiences were like so don't feel too pressured to answer this lol
Hello anon! Commissions are always a complicated matter, especially when starting them but don't give up too soon, it may just need some time to kick off. I know i didn't got clients right away the first time and had to be patient. I took commissions when i felt ready to do so and knew i had both some free time available to handle it (i was still in school back then) and thought my skills were decent enough to maybe interest some people, which i know is vague but i can’t really say what is the “right moment”, i just gave it a go. I had no idea if i was going to get clients or not, and i admit i am not sure how to tell even now, but you and i won't know without trying anyway. :P I can also tell you that I got several orders from mutuals who directly reached out to me, so building an audience and maintaining a good network is very important, although i am no expert in that domain since i’m just winging it most of the time. cx
Another tough point beside having a receptive audience was (and still is for me) deciding about the pricing. The first time i had mostly looked around and saw how much people with similar skills priced their stuff. Might be good enough to kick off your commissions and test waters, but at some point you should revise your prices from time to time as you are improving your skills. Another way that is widely advised is to roughly calculate how much time you spend per type of drawing then fix a minimum hourly income from there (and then add the cost of your materials). Unless you just want to sell your art for some bonus pocket money in which case it doesn't matter as much, if you want it to be a decent revenue, there wouldn't be much point selling a good artwork that takes you 8 hours to do for, let's say 20$: that would be barely 2,5$/hour and no one can say that's a decent wage if you have the intent to pay rent and groceries with that; but in the end, that is your situation to consider and your decision to take. As for the process itself, after receiving payment (or first part of the payment), i will require a ref sheet of the character i’m going to draw and some additional details if needed, like background elements and other things my client wants on the piece; from which i will start making thumbnails and sketches for the poses and composition ideas. Then i will send these to the client for review, and after discussing and receiving feedback, i will refine or even combine what has been selected for the final sketch. Some minor modifications are still possible after this point, but not much. From this sketch, if it's not already done, i will make some color tests to decide the lighting/shading and global atmosphere of the drawing, which are discussed as well. The pre-production step is a very important part of my process: because everything gets reviewed, it allows my client to know exactly what they're going to get, and me to know exactly what i need to do once the final sketch and color palette have been cemented, there is no chance for qui pro quo. This process of back and forth might seem a bit complex, but at least it works fine for me. Once the color palette is validated, i then start rendering the final piece, with some WIP pictures taken along the way if needed. It's important to maintain regular contact with clients so that they’re reassured, and sharing the differents steps of progress like that makes it easier for me. If you encounter some issue or whatever, just be upfront about it and tell the person it might take longer, most people are comprehensive about it as long as you maintain them in the know. It happened with two of my clients at different times and for different reasons, and they understood when i told them so. (Thankfully, i haven't met any rude nor scammy client yet >u>) I hope that it brought some bits of answer to you, and i wish you good luck with commissions!
#hopefully i haven't forgotten anything important#also i'm sorry for the wait#between my usual procrastinating self and me rewriting this 10 times ahsdqsuyf#ask#long post

Finished her pretty quick, I just got an idea surprisingly fast. Also this confirms Ryuu has a type: Redhead, intelligent, wears lot of black and red lmao. Also her pose is a bit wonky, but eh. it shows her outfit well enough.
....This reminds me, I should rewrite Reidou’s bio somewhat, I don’t quite like her BG story yet.
Anyway, further info below:
Age: 27 (she was 20 when she met Ryuu)
Sexuality: Bi
Ezuko’s QUIRK EXPLAINED
BASICS (Pros in normal, cons in bold)
Quirk name: Living ink
Ezuko is able to create ink-like substance into any surface she touches, basically allowing her to create tattoos and art pieces without needing tools. She just needs to imagine what she wants the picture look like, or have a reference to look at. She can also turn liquids into this inky substance.
Ezuko tends to need more time and proper focus if she wants to create larger and more intricate designs. For her to create these images or change a liquid into ink, she does need to be touching the object/liquid.
TATTOOING/ILLUSTRATING
She can easily create tattoos for people with her ability that is pretty much pain free, or graffiti or even basically change the color and design of an entire building, piece of clothing, etc.
The image she’s made, she can shift and change and make move however she wants, even after a long time. She can use these moving images to even temporarily blind people by making the image shift around their eyes.
The process in some cases take even longer than doing the same tattoo traditionally would take, at least if the image is complex and large, and she doesn’t have proper references for it.
For her to be able to make the pictures move, she usually requires having been touching the object/person minimum of five seconds.
Her quirk ultimately is not meant for combat, and she can’t really use her drawings in a fight, only disorient them to either flee or find a chance to use her liquid shifting ability.
LIQUID SHIFT
Ezuko’s ability to change liquids into ink can allow her (accidentally or on purpose) to turn a person’s blood into ink and basically poison them to death near instantly.
She can neutralize liquid based attacks as well by turning them to her ink, which will automatically start to listen to her commands.
She is immune to most acids and poisons (non-digested ones) because she automatically turns these things into ink when they touch her. It’s not her quirk being passive however, but rather a survival reaction she has developed.
In order to do this, she needs to be able to touch the liquid she wants to change, which means in a case of a fight, she needs to either make the person bleed (or get them to spit or whatever, she prefers the blood as its “easier.”)
PERSONALITY SUMMARY
Ezuko tends to be fairly blunt, no nonsense type of person. She’s mostly pretty calm and level headed even in tight situations, but when her temper flares it can be pretty bad. She’s gonna let you hear where you screwed up exactly, in other words.
Ezuko tends to not like people with “strong” quirks by default, because the whole obsession over quirks let to her family disowning her for not having a “good enough” power and wanting to do something else than be a hero or have some other profilic career. She can change her mind about you (like she did with Ryuu) once she gets to know you better, and sees you’re not putting all your value as a person on your power.
She’s quite intelligent and enjoys reading and learning about a lot of different things, partly because it helps her imagination run wilder and thus makes it faster to create her images.
BACKGROUND STORY (A quick summary, details may develop)
Ezuko was born to parents who were all about status, and quite disappointed to find out her quirk wasn’t suitable for heroism. They then tried to push her for something else that could rise their wealth and standing in society. Ezuko herself didn’t want to do this, dealing with a lot of arguments and abusive language from them, up until she moved out at age 18, heading to study arts. After that her family basically disowned her, refusing to even answer her calls. Ezuko quit trying to reach them, figuring she’d be better off without.
Then, when she was doing an apprenticeship in a tattoo parlor, she ended up having to deal with an abusive customer one evening, where he started harassing her. In a panic, she ended up discovering another, unfortunate side-effect of her quirk, where during the struggle she managed to make the guy bleed, and then swiftly turned his blood into ink, killing him near instantly. Some local residents came to see the commotion, and instead of asking her side of the story just automatically began to call her a murderer as the customer was a regular, forcing her to flee the scene.
The local press and everybody around there started to exaggerate her temper and further paint her in a bad light, forcing Ezuko to flee the place altogether. She tried to reach for her parents for help, but they refused to help her, believing the media that she’d done it on purpose.
Sometime during her runaway spree she ran into Ryuu, who’d only recently gained lot of notoriety, though the girl was unaware of this. He helped her in a fight against some thugs, and she brings the injured Ryuu into her hideout to fix his injuries. They stick together for a bit, and Ryuu even brings her to a person he knows that generally tends to help out with people like her - a broker named Giran. Giran let’s her work in his bar, also making sure that everybody knew not to bother her as that’d be a bad idea. He even helps her to get a place to stay in eventually. Sometime during these years, she hears rumors about “Frostbite” having potentially died, which makes her a little sad initially, though Giran cheers her up be stating that there was probably more to the story than that.
Some years after that, she finds out about Ryuu being alive through Giran, as he sends her to bring something to “an old acquaintance” as the man put it. This said acquaintance turned out to be Ryuu.
Few more extra details;
- She’s the only person out of the people around Kain who actually understands his more scientific talk. They can end up having long conversations about a subject that none of the others have a clue of.
- Her name translates to “Paint” (Pandoru that she pronounces as pandora) and “illustration lake.” (Ezuko)
- The world she lives in is based on my fic Reanimate, which basically means there’s no league of villains, as Tenko never became “Shigaraki.” Giran is the only important member (outside of afo) that is still a criminal in this AU. Because of Kain’s dimension hopping ability, this doesn’t mean she doesn’t get to interact with the more villainous versions of the gang, though.
- Ezuko made Ryuu’s dragon tattoo as a thank you for helping her.
- Her surname is bit of a pun, as it’s written as “Pandoru” aka paint, but after leaving home and her parents behind, she began saying it as “Pandora” referring to Pandora’s box as a bit of a darker joke about her choosing to go against her parents and thus unleashing a lot of bad things into her life. This proved to be even more accurate after the parlor incident.
- Her parents wanted her to either find a way to become a hero with her quirk, or go into some other highly respected profession for status and money, when Ezuko just wanted to do something artistic.
- Ryuu actually didn’t start crushing on her until after they met again years later after their first meeting, when he and Kain returned from another eventful dimension hopping trip to visit their little sanctuary corner and friends, Wasabi and his mums. Up until then he’d seen her just as a friend/acquaintance
- Wasabi digs her a lot because they have similar hairstyles.
- The vine tattoo represents her quirk and spreads around her arms and shoulders more when using her quirk. When using it in extreme amounts (Like turning a large body of liquid into ink for example) her skin around those parts gets so covered it looks like she just has one large pitch black tattoo covering those areas, and you can no longer see the vine details.
Also, the ref sheet base was made by yourultraarchive as usual
