Jayce closed his eyes as soon as his head found its way onto his partner's lap. He felt a tentative hand resting on his head, stroking it barely perceptibly. “What would you say if I told you that it was you who almost destroyed the world?” “That you must have hit your head somewhere.” “And even though you wouldn't let me at first, I couldn't let you make that sacrifice alone to save the world in the end.” “Pretty hard, I might add.” Jayce laughed at the remark, lifting his head from Viktor's lap and looking into his eyes, which regarded him as if he were out of his mind. Maybe he was. “I've woken up, but I think we've landed... in another dimension? At least that's how I'd like us to end up.” Viktor rolled his eyes and flicked Jayce against the forehead. “Next time, I won't let you work late into the night with me. It's obviously not good for you.” This statement was probably meant to sound scolding, but something gentle resonated in Viktor's voice. Jayce could hardly contain himself, as they had rarely been able to have moments like this in recent weeks. Which was largely down to Viktor himself. Jayce stood up without breaking eye contact. “Jayce, let me get off the table and get back to work. There's a lot to do and I-” He couldn't listen to these words any longer. If he had to wait any longer, he would go crazy. So he pushed himself between Viktor's legs without saying a word, which fortunately surprised him so much that his torrent of words was interrupted before he had even started. His hands went to his narrow waist and how many times had he imagined touching him there before? To hold him tight and press him against him? Jayce loved that feeling already. “Jayce” But Viktor couldn't say much more than his name this time. “Even if tonight was just a dream and almost none of it was real - one thing was real.” He leaned his forehead against Viktor's, closed his eyes and pulled him a little closer with his hands on his waist. “You've got me wrapped around your little finger and you know it. As if there would ever be anything I could refuse you.But today I want to be selfish, V.” His heart beat fast in his chest and when he opened his eyes again, not wanting to miss a moment of this, he recognized the light blush on the other man's cheeks. Jayce could look at him forever. “I am so crazy for you, Viktor.”

Y’all I’m literally never going to be okay about Simon and Betty.

Simon realising that their whole relationship he hadn’t been examining why Betty always followed him because he was too focused on his love for her and not what she really needed. Not what they both really needed.

The devastating parallel of Betty being so blindly in love with Simon that she willingly and unthinkingly always put him first. And Simon being so blindingly in love with Betty that he saw her being happy and so never thought to fucking question whether those were the right decisions to make. Enabling them every time because they were in love and that was what she wanted, right? She wanted to be with him. She loved him. She was happy. So why would he think it should be any different?

And Betty reassuring Simon that she made her own choices. That he didn’t hold her anywhere. That he never forced her to be with him, or put him first. That she made those decisions and that she didn’t have any regrets. But that they both had to let this go because as long as they were focused on each other neither of them were ever going to be able to have the life they needed.

That they had both been trapped for so long carving pieces of themselves out for other people. Betty in her blind devotion when it came to Simon. Simon in his belief that his crimes as the Ice King, and that all the ways he had let down Betty, meant the only purpose and worth he could have was in sacrificing himself for others.

That they both deserved self-possession and the ability to find autonomy and actualisation as individuals. That they deserved to make their own choices, the good and the bad, and just live without the blind devotion, and guilt, and sacrifice that was going to trap them in this loop forever.

That they meant everything to each other, but that now they needed to mean everything to themselves. That the only way forward was on different paths, but that they both deserved that. That they were able to show each other that they deserved that.

That Simon gets to live now.

I will never be okay about this show. Or these two.

He's not jealous, he had his time by Jean's side. Maybe it's grief. Grief for something that was never so innocent, never so untouched by cruel hands, something that could've been better if they were anyone else. Grief for something that's long passed and can never be fixed to be made better than before. He had his time at the receiving end of Jean's concerned glances. Maybe he's just a little sad that when he's at an away game, he no longer buys post cards for a friend.
