i'll let phie-san say it:
#the vids i've seen on tiktok picking at her immediately get a block...#bitter otaku sitting in their socks in their mom's basement feeling threatened/enraged by a hot successful black woman outnerding them-core#also this kind of criticism is so demoralising and damaging to people who are trying to learn another language#also. accents are NORMAL and not a bad thing#i don't think that the end goal of picking up a new language necessarily has to be sounding native#and i know sometimes the way japanese people react like SUGOIII? *W* when a foreigner says like one (1) word in japanese is joked about#but like... genuinely... i always love when someone clearly has made an effort and took the time to learn some of the language#anyway she can step on those haters <3#also like. it’s just some lines in a song people need to relax…#megan thee stallion#autoplay warning#japan#japanese#language#mamushi

i want to take care of you with my own two hands more than i know how to express from so far away
I want to hold your face and your hands and touch you so gently with reverence and show you how much i adore such little things about you. like the hair on your chin and the marks on your hands and the dip of your waist and the length of your arms and the peaks of your lips. and i will kiss you gently over all these things as i tell you how handsome and beautiful you are to me
i want to make you sweet things from my favourite recipes and feed you samples with my fingers and you‘ll kiss them just cause you can every time. i want to share a kitchen and make good food and clean up together after. i want to keep you full and content and dance with you in the empty spaces when we have the time and energy. maybe just hold your hands and wiggle and happy stim together. comfortable to be silly and expressive and have needs.
i want to be able to respond with tender care when things are hard and start to fall apart. i will help you clean up and put things farther away. i will respect your hesitance for affection but be sure you know i happily give it every time. i want to brush your tears and give you space to cry into me and cling as tight as you need. I want to curl up with you on the floor when you can’t move and just be close and get you anything you need. i want to know where you hide and how to best respect the need for shelter from whatever distance you allow me. i want to offer you safety and patience and reassurance. i want to tuck you soft into bed when all that’s left is sleep and watch over you for when things get mean in the night.
i want to care for your aches and remind you not to push yourself, that you never have to pretend with me. i’ll cary you if you let me so you can be with me with as little effort as possible. i want to learn you so well a lack of words is hardly a blip in communication. i want to massage your aches and prepare you a warm bath. i want to help you wash your hair
i want to know the patterns of your brain enough to catch you when you fall i want be a soft space to land. i want to reassure and redirect the mislead and crossed thoughts and to fight with whatever necessary to protect you. i want to watch over you without restricting you because you will be safe when you’re with me. i want to find better ways to spend the restless energy.
i want to teach you trust and true collaboration because we are only as good as we know how to listen to each other. i want to be forgiven when i mess up and forgive when you do too. i want to know how to disagree without shutting down and how to find compromise that protects everyone. i want you to feel listened to and respected and wanted and valued and worthy and equal and happy to be mine. i want you to be mine in every word in every sense to everyone that matters i want to be yours fully and completely every second of every day
#i love you doesn’t feel even close to big enough for you#i need new words in a new language#ny cyare#gar kar’taylir darasuum#💙

#why do you need this many legs sir#toedscruel#woah holy shit i just looked outside and it's super dark out. i'm queuing this up at noon why is it so dark#lemme look#yeah it's. dark. there's a bunch of dark evil clouds in the sky lookin like it's gonna storm oh i just heard thunder yeah it's gonna storm#uh oh. good thing i'm queueing this guy up before the storm so my power doesn't go out. this happens frequently#anyway toedscruel. it's definitely an evolution of toedscool. it definitely looks like tentacruel#if it's a different pokémon why does it evolve into something so suspiciously similar. i can understand wigglet and wugtrio being#different pokémon. just based on how different they are from diglett and dugtrio. even though their names are a typo away#but this guy is. it. really should've just been a regional form‚ i think#unrelated‚ but on random occasions seemingly whenever someone new finds the blog and reads my tags#i'll occasionally get folks asking me how i type commas in the tags#the answer is that this character → ‚ ← is not a comma. it just looks identical to a comma because of tumblr's font#it's actually a lower quotation mark. so for a language that does ‚this kind’ of quotation marks#and i use it as a comma because i have a fancy linguist keyboard that can type all kinds of fancy symbols. and it's easily accessible#some of my favorites include the single-character ellipse: …#the degrees symbol: º and °#small A: ª#fractions: 1⁄2 2⁄3 1⁄4 etc#and obviously IPA symbols and various diacritics‚ so that i can type the word pokémon without having to copy-and-paste the E#currency symbols‚ too. £¢$§¥ euro is on here somewhere but i don't know where bc i don't use that one really#i just like being able to type things the way they're supposed to be. like it's 80º outside. the stopwatch costs 15¢ in the shop#and‚ of course‚ pokémon. it's the linguistics and computer 'tism combining together i think#it's storming harder now but i found the euro symbol: €#oh fuckin hell my lights just flickered. this is gonna be rough..!

Okay SO I've never Bad Batch posted beyond reblogs but there's two episodes left and I'm going insane so my big giant theory for why the finale is titled The Cavalry Has Arrived with a sprinkle of Tech is Alive Yes I Am Delusional:
Tonight's episode is going to end with the Batch, Omega's gang, and CX-2 all colliding in one of the hallways.
Big Western faceoff, tumbleweed, yadda yadda y'know.
Right before the shooting starts, CX-2 tells them their escape plan through whatever hallway they're planning is strategically ill-advised, because *insert tactical explanation here*
Hunter: "Oh yeah? What, you trying to help us or something? No thanks."
CX-2: "It was worth the attempt. It's not as if we've ever followed orders anyway."
BIG PAUSE, CLOSE UP MONTAGE OF EVERYONE AS THE WORDS SINK IN
Omega: "...Tech?!"
Tech: *removes helmet to reveal it's him* "Well, I thought it was obvious. Shall we liberate some clones together, then?"
SMASH CUT, ROLL CREDITS, THE CALVARY HAS ARRIVED BECAUSE THE *ENTIRE* BATCH IS TOGETHER AGAIN AND THEY'RE GONNA SAVE THE CLONES.
end conspiracy theory rant. 🥴
#EDIT: SORRY LEFT OUT A BIT OF TECH DIALOGUE I PUT IT BACK JUST IGNORE THIS 😭#no matter what happens the callback to “i thought it was obvious” re: tech and the omega/chip discoveries is required. okay. it just is.#that's his line i need to hear it again okay#also please excuse hunter's dialogue being kinda generic#if it's someone with an accent saying more than a word or two I have to put thought into writing dialogue & this was completely off the cuf#i don't have as much a problem with it as tech because i am also autistic i speak his language 🤣#ANYWAYS i am delusional but i have also been able to predict story beats with fair accuracy for like 10 years so#speaking it into existence. manifesting? i'm still new at tumblr speak sorry 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭#K8 Rambles about Star Wars#star wars#the bad batch#star wars the bad batch#sw the bad batch#sw tbb#tbb#the bad bad spoilers#sw the bad batch spoilers#star wars the bad batch spoilers#sw tbb spoilers#tbb spoilers#tbb tech#tbb cx-2#tbb cx 2#tbb hunter#tbb omega#tbb wrecker#tbb crosshair#tbb echo#i tagged the whole batch because even if they're not referred to by name they're in the post in spirit

Something that always annoys me is the idea only 1 language learning method works. Which is not true. While it may be possible that, for a particular individual, only a few out of many study methods may work well enough for That Individual to make progress and stay motivated... that doesn't mean all the other study methods won't work for anyone else out there, or that those few methods will work for every other given person.
Obviously if you've been studying a while, then you already figured out what kinds of things work for you and don't. If you're a beginner, just wading into studying?
I would suggest you simply look for study methods that: 1. Teach you new things regularly, 2. Review and practice things you've learned, 3. Include studying things you need for your particular goals (for example if your goal is to read X book then the study materials at some point should involve reading practice and some words the book contains, if your goal is to talk about Y then the study materials should include some information about pronunciation and words you'll need to be able to say).
As you can imagine, a TON of study materials will meet these requirements. And you can study a given skill in a LOT of ways.
(Reading is my focus lol so just for reading, a beginner might: do vocabulary study with lists or conversations with native speakers or watching shows and looking words up or listening to dialogues with a transcript like in a textbook or graded readers or a picture book with word labels in the target language or a video game with labelled objects in target language, all of those things as long as your vocabulary is improving or reading practice is happening would help you make progress). So to improve reading skill as a beginner: you could study with a textbook, a podcast with transcript, a classroom or tutor with words written down in target language (like TPRS), a video game, a TV show and a translate app on your phone, a friend you talk with (who either writes words down or you look up words you hear with a translate app), a friend you text with, srs flashcards like anki (provided there's text) etc. As long as there's new words, and/or you're practicing reading, the study method may work. If it works will come down to if you can stay motivated doing it regularly, and make sure you regularly learn some new things and review/practice things you've already studied.
So consider those things when you see people selling a study method as a product (especially when it's costing you money). Consider if it teaches you NEW things, and are those new things related to your goals, and how MUCH new stuff will it teach you before you finish it? Consider if it provides review or practice, or if you can use it's materials to review on your own making up your own method, or if you'll need to do separate review/practice.
So examples:
LingQ. Can it teach you many new words? Yes, thousands, since you can import any texts you want when you get done with their provided material (I have no idea how much their beginner material covers though in terms of words... I would hope 1000-3000 words but that can be researched). Is your goal reading? It's suited to reading, so you will practice and review often with it. Cost? I think it was $12 a month when I last had it, and the price may have increased. Is it worth it? Depends on a learner's needs. I found it was wasting my money, so I chose to use free tools like Pleco and Readibu apps - since those apps are suited for Chinese learners and have better translations, Pleco has better paid graded reader material if I was going to spend money, and both Pleco and Readibu let me import texts so I can learn thousands of new words just like LingQ but free. Now that I'm not a beginner, I often use Microsoft Edge to read chinese... since I can still click-translate words easily (all my web browsers have that tool free), and Edge's TTS voice is helpful for pronunciation and sounds quite good. I read webnovels online so Edge works well. But it's translations aren't as good as Pleco or Readibu, so if I still needed translations more I would use them. So... is LingQ a good study method? Its certainly a study method marketed to buy. Well... the method is suited to improving reading skill, at least. It costs money, which is a negative, but it does offer a lot. However: everything it does regarding reading can be done free with other apps or sites or web browsers on their own. So if paying money motivates you to read... sure. LingQ does have a few word tracking features a learner may find worth the money, keeping in mind the actual read-to-learn method can be done free without lingq. (Also... while LingQ is a valid option for improving reading, if the learners goal is speaking then it would be important to think of what study activities the learner will do OUTSIDE of LingQ to improve speaking... because I've seen how LingQ is marketed as "how to learn a language" but it's only focused on some skills. It has vocabulary and grammar in some sense, since you'll read a lot and encounter new words and structures. But it doesnt have speaking or writing practice at least last time I was on it. Those activities would need to be worked on, on your own).
You can do that kind of cost/benefit contemplating with any study method material you see being sold. Amother example: there's a beginner Mandarin course called Mandarin Blueprint. It teaches like 800 words. Thats all. It may be worthwhile for a beginner... who still needs to learn 800 common words. But if you already know a few hundred words, the benefit of the course is less, you'll need to find a new material to teach you more new stuff soon. And the price was like a few hundred for the course... which for me personally was too much to spend, when I had already learned 800 hanzi from a book that cost me 12 dollars and 2000 words from a free user made memrise deck. The course claimed to get a person speaking, competent, but anyone not a beginner would say speaking basically with 800 words is nowhere near the level of working in Chinese or just doing a lot of daily life stuff, or reading/listening to media. (Although for the motivated beginner if you're learning 800 words on your own like I was, its definitely close to the point of jumping to learn more words and start reading kids and teenager books, and watching easier shows if you're willing to look new words up). So to me... Mandarin Blueprint felt like overselling some basic beginner materials. (Again when I know several other things that teach beginner stuff either more in depth so HSK test prep classes, and college courses, or that teach beginner stuff to the same depth as Mandarin Blueprint but free).
Some study materials aren't going to act like they teach everything. I've seen chinese courses just for learning to speak tones better and general pronunciation - probably worthwhile if your goal is to improve speaking and a teacher could help improve the issues your having. But a learner needs to be aware for that course that they'll need to study vocabulary on their own, its JUST a pronunciation improvement course.
#rant#i saw a lot of comments on forums yesterday thinking automatic language growth alg was like snake oil#aka a scam. but it can be done for free (free lessons online) and for people who#learn well from visual context and guessing (i learn well that way) the lesson style DOES result in learning new words and grammar#so provided you can find ALG type free lessons that teach 1000+ words (ideally 3000+ words) then you will learn#enough grammar and words to then move onto native speaker content to continue studying. so all free#i have not seen yet how ALG helps students with speaking or writing yet though. so i can only say it for sure improves passive skills#specifically listening with new words and grammar. and listening translates to reading if you practice that on your own#even just with subtitles or podcast transcripts.#the issue for me is can i find alg courses that teach a thousand words in a timely manner (and free if thats my personal requirement)#i think Dreaming Spanish and Comprehensible Thai do have enough free courses to teach 1000+ words#so those ones would get you to possibly intermediate b1 level in passive listening skill#and then its up to you on if 1 that meets your goal 2 you learn well with that lesson type 3 you are motivated to do the lessons#like... duolingo itself is not completely useless... it teaches 3000 words on most courses (and maybe 1500 common words). the big issue for#me with duolingo is it takes me AGES to complete a lesson and complete a course (years). cause i cant focus on it#whereas with duolingos content... its beginner content. at best it will get Reading skill to A2 or low B1#and maybe other skills if you practice OUTSIDE duolingo with the words and grammar u learned.#so getting to A2 vocab shouldnt take me more than a year to learn (based on how i study). i can learn it in 6 months if i#just study a wordlist on paper and a grammar guide online. so since duolingo takes me 4 times LONGER to study than the other methods i use?#duolingo is a waste of my time. not worth it (and it markets itself as if it will get a learner to B2 when it wont. and it markets#as if 1 lesson a day is all you need. to make progress in 6 months in duolingo like my wordlist study...#you'd need to be doing duolingo 1-3 hours a day... which duolingo does not tell u to do. and most learners dont

i hate hate hate hate when people complain about words. "oh but we don't need that many words" why wouldn't we. i've heard enough shit about portuguese teachers (im a native portuguese speaker) saying "we don't need all these neutral pronouns stop complicating language and creating more stuff all the time" do you hear yourself rn like what do you think language is for, being static forever instead of being a tool that serves reality and not the way around, and tools evolve all the time to better serve their purpose, like science and math????
#“dont complicate language!” you realize its too late for that right#“we dont need new words” its counterproductive and idiotic in my humble opinion sorry#rambles#hate tag#this might or not be about transandrophobia...?#but also about the complaint in my country about neopronouns#we dont have “gramatically correct” neutral pronouns like the english 'they' so all neutral pronouns are neopronouns once i had a teacher#saying we dont need neopronouns#bc it would be “soooo complicated for like old people to understand this ever-shifting language”#and that the demonstrative pronouns this and that are enough#its like saying “oh we dont need singular they why dont use it instead” like excuse me i use it its myself but for most people its#dehumanizing and they deserve options not tied to that too!!!#like ohmy god just please shut up#“dont complicate language :((((”#bites you bites you bites you#and excuse me for my wording but this gives 1984 ass behavior

Trying to sleep whilst simultaneously letting some potential lore scenes for future writing/art run in the back of my mind produces some truly unsettling results.
Under no circumstances would Roberts be court martialed for treason. Officer Beverley seems to understand this, but his logic is entirely backwards. Framed by the glow of the fireplace, Beverley leans back against the sole chair in his spartan lodgings and explains what he’s so sure is going to happen. If Roberts does not comply he intends to go to the London admiralty, to let them in on his missing time, the new player making waves in Anarchist circles, the lies at the foundation of his very existence. He seems to think that the Dark-Spectacled Admiral has the power to land him in political scandal.
His letters will never reach the Admiral. Roberts knows this with the same certainty that he knows the Dawn Machine burns in the Southwest. Beverley’s contact is the Voracious Diplomat. He’s trying to be cagey about it, but Roberts has seen the letterhead, shoved quickly into a drawer whenever they need the space on the desk to work. And the Diplomat would never let such a tidbit go to the Admiral, not when it’s worth so much more on Grand Geode.
Roberts was there for the Luminous Plot of ‘69. In fact, he had been the one to ensure that its perpetrators would never find a way to return from the slow boat, no trial, sham or otherwise. As he and the Commodore stood against the gunwhale and watched their cement-laden bodies sink into the Zee, the Commodore turned to him.
“You wouldn’t betray me, would you, Elias?”
The expression on his face is clouded, as if already playing through and wounded by the possibility in his mind. It feels like being thrown into ice water.
“Of course not, sir!”
The very idea is appalling. Surely the Commodore doesn’t truly believe it’s in the realm of the possible—not when the very idea makes his skin prickle. He’s the Commodore’s man, through and through, dedicated to both him and the Work.
The Commodore smiles, his golden eyes suddenly kind.
“That's what I thought. You wouldn’t do such a thing,” his hand reaches out to pat his shoulder, “Not from my most loyal midshipman.”
He can’t help but flush at the praise. Hopefully, the deck’s dim lighting covers it. But it hardly matters, for the Commodore turns away, gazing into the waves where they’d thrown the traitors not minutes ago. Roberts thinks the conversation is at its end when the Commodore starts again, eyes never leaving that fixed point on the Zee’s surface.
“If you did betray me, of course, I wouldn’t kill and feed you to the dawn flukes. That would be too easy of an end. Instead, I’d weld you into our smallest zub and ship you to Anthe. Who knows,” he shrugs, “you might just even have enough supplies to make it.”
He can’t breathe, his lungs are frozen in his chest. The image is all too real—trapped in that metal coffin, hardly able to move. Through the icy panic, all he can feel is the frantic hammering of his heart and the sharp twinge of the muscle of his left thigh, where the scarred skin puckers above it. The Commodore wouldn’t. Of course he wouldn’t. Right? He has to take a breath. He needs to respond. It’s been too long. His silence might be taken for suspicious.
“There’s no need for that, I assure you.” The words come out whole, though his voice is frailer than he’d like. The Commodore is studying him now. Roberts isn’t sure whether or not he can meet his gaze, what the Commodore might see on his face. After a moment the Commodore nods.
“I didn’t think so. But you never know.” With that, his mouth slides into a grin, demeanour changing like night and day. “We’d best get back soon. There’s work to be done back on base. I’ll alert the navigator.”
Roberts sees the hand coming soon enough to not flinch when it lands on his shoulder, giving it a reassuring shake, before the Commodore is off, already descending the ladder.
He takes a deep breath and steadies himself, chasing the claustrophobic phantasm from his mind. The Commodore is right—there’s work to be done.
Truth be told, he’s not entirely paying attention to the details of Beverley’s demands. He doesn’t have to, when he already knows he’ll agree to whatever he says. It’s clear as dawnlight what he must do. The Officer seems almost surprised by how easily Roberts acquiesces, but that surprise soon turns to barely-concealed delight as the scientific possibilities unfold before him. He’s already turned away from Roberts and back to the schematics, searching for a pen to record the newest thoughts.
It’s truly a shame, Roberts thinks, hand reaching behind him for the fireplace poker, to have to lose such a promising engineer. But treachery is something that the New Sequence cannot tolerate.
Beverley doesn’t even see it coming until the instant he brings the iron poker down across his skull.
#roberts/nite#ok I guess we’re writing now#happy half three writing fugue#I remembered again that Roberts’ first death was inside a crumpled ship during the fall#and that he has crippling claustrophobia#and this went from#‘how does he deal with a colleague who wants him to test the new mini zub’#without admitting how badly he does in small spaces#to ‘what’s the worst thing that could possibly happen to him if he’s revealed to be an anarchist’#and then remembered the convo about Beverley’s blackmail attempt#I hope this is coherent when the sun comes up#that is unfortunately a recurring issue with me and words at this hour#though the early hours of the morning are far worse#if you ever get a message from me before 11am I am so sorry#I need to be conscious for… a while before the language receptors catch up#my writing#roberts

okay not to be a walking cliche and I hate to validate overused jargon but I kinda had a self-care day today and refilled my cup and it really helped. 😭
#i didn’t think of it in those terms (which ALSO helped tbh.)#(because using that language and trying to match my very particular vibe to the recommended self care tips)#(frequently doesn’t work because I get frustrated when the thing makes me unhappier. as a lot of things do)#but I slept in. and then I went shopping alone (and found some nice things that cheered me up)#and I went and looked at the water. and I just didn’t talk to my family at all until the end of the day#and then it was just better and my heart was lighter#skkskskekkske who knew#counseling is helping tbh. slowly! but it is.#because it just cuts through a lot of the nonsense in my head and reminds me of very basic things#and so sometimes she’ll listen to me talk and she’ll be like ‘sounds like you’re not filling up your cup’#and I’m like: 😮😮😮😮😮😮#I’ll be like but I am untangling the lines of the universe and creating beautiful new patterns!#and she unimpressed will be like: but did you practice some self-care#anyway I am rambling. I DO struggle with/dislike the way the current culture uses words like this#because I think it adds to entitlement which ultimately makes us unhappier#but common sense has always been common sense and I do need someone to tell me that#when I have woven myself into an anxiety cocoon#which. happens naturally all the time. so.

Recent game related things .. hrmm...
#I do like the inconsistency of the first map. that is actually something older but that I re-found and added to my Game Reference stuff#so that when characters reference where they're from I can be accurate. I like that the whole map is kind of shifted up that way. Where the#actual south part doesnt even count as the south since its Too Far and Scary lol. and if you say you're from 'the north' thats basically#like.. one single continent. Though some people do make distinctions like 'north midlands' or etc. still. I like the ways that common#language isn't always precisely accurate like that. and thinking about why a culture would classify things a certain way or etc. etc.#The inventory page is so funny to me because it's literally just the BASe like.. sample layout just to make sure it works properly with 0#actual design into it. just colored rectangles thrown together in MS paint. but what if I like... left it like that.. what if all the other#art in the game and UI is like stylized and fully matching BUT the inventory/journal/etc. screens I just left as plain colored blocks#with random misalignments and black spots and etc gjhbhjj... It looks unfinished in a Funny Contrast way to me.#the wordcounts are just like... my past few days of writing.. I am still not getting 2200 words a day done or whatever I needed. I'm lucky#if it's even half of that .... tee hee.. :3c I do also keep having appointments and other things going on but..grrr...#The full map of the area is probably not necessary but I thought it would be more realisitc if people were able to reference things. Like i#you have people all living in a city area probably at some point someone might mention a neighboring city or some landmark nearby#or etc. so I thought having at least the basic names of what's around for reference would be sensible. A side character mentioning#'oh yeah I don't live here full time I just travel from Marisene sometimes' or whatever makes it seem more like a Real#Fleshed Out Place than people just making vague references like 'the river' or 'i come from a city nearby' or 'i went to a place somewhere#around here' or 'the other city' or etc. lol.. Especially since global cities/global areas are weird as they operate almost like an#independent country within their walls. so it's like a micro country inside of another country usually. just plopped down in some agreed#upon plot of land that won't be too disruptive to the main country around it. That could get very complex depending on the cultural and#political backdrop of where they're placed (though obviously they try to choose the 'easiest' areas possible for it). Asen is a very mild#country without much history of conflict or anything so it's fine. But still interesting that Sifeh and the entire branched out global area#border three other districts of Asen. Which means like 3 times the local representitives you'l have to negotiate with for some major change#or anything. I think one of the 'random characters you can find around the world and have short discussions with just to make the area#feel more populated and real even though theyre not actual important npcs' is going to be a guy who actually serves on the council that#handles running the global areas and he's like.. some perpetually exhausted middle aged elf running around with a clipboard or whatever#ANYWAY...... hrgh... still trying to write when I can....#I WISH so badly that I had the scope for a simple character creation menu and all character interactions would allot for the background#of your player character. And also to have a simple day night cycle where places in the world you explore/people you talk to during the day#have new options or dialogue at night.. BUT alas... I already am so behind on everything as is lol.. aughhh... T o T#As the worlds number one Needless Detail And Complexity Enjoyer i must dilligently prevent myself from adding additional complexity

So yesterday (Feb 21st) marks the one year anniversary of me starting to watch Buddy Daddies and I just...
What a year!
If you'd told me at the beginning of 2023 that I'd start watching anime, that I'd love anime and even cry over it, I would've laughed in your face tbh.
Yet here we are a year later and I can't believe that me deciding to watch a show about two hitmen who suddenly have to take care of a kid would impact me so much!
I started enjoying tumblr again, I've talked to so many lovely people in the fandom (both mutuals and followers <3) and I found something new I absolutely adore and can lose myself in!
And it's crazy to think that all of that came from a silly little found family anime! :')
#No but seriously#I've seen more anime that I would've ever thought I would in my lifetime#Some better than others obviously#But I still enjoy watching it!#I'm learning new words in a language I'd never thought I'd be interested in#and it's so much fun when I understand things without needing subtitles#It's become like a safety net when I'm having a bad day#I'm looking forward to coming home from work and just putting on a silly little show to relax!#And Buddy Daddies was the first one I watched!#It impacted me so much! It's still my favourite anime I've watched to date and I don't think that'll change#The feeling of looking forward to Fridays because there would be a new episode!#It meant so much to me at the time and still does#So... I'm not actually sure where I'm going with this#Just something to commemorate it I guess#Shut up Char

Say what you will about Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam.
But this was the game that finally put the kibosh on that stupid "Paper Mario is an uncaring jerk to his brother." joke of a joke from the first 3 PM games.
And I will love it just for that.
#paper mario#mario and luigi paper jam#rain plays paper jam#mario and luigi#good brother mario#and no - not immediately realizing he was talking to a different luigi doesn't count#PM was just isekai'd and had no one to explain this to him yet - of course he'd be confused!#for all he knew his luigi was just using a new power-up he'd never heard of before#no more leaving luigi house sitting even after being directly told his bro hates being left behind#no more turning luigi's biggest fan against him and enabling her bullying of him all so he can get a piece of cake#no more failing to recognize a brainwashed and desperately needing help luigi who's standing right in front of him in a cheap disguise#there aren't enough words in the English language to describe how much I hate those moments#and there's a non 0% chance they may have been the cause of those edgelord “Mario is an abusive monster” internet theories#which makes me hate them even more#sticker star didn't have this problem but it also didn't have a real solution either#you find luigi hiding around the world - you paperize - he runs off - do this five times and he shows up in the credits
