Something about how Fire & Ice give up on going after Pearl directly, and instead both arrow in on dissing Marina-

Something about, Pearl having no shame at all, outright telling Frye right off that Off the Hook is here to “take control” and then literally talking over Frye’s turn. Frye’s snarking on how Pearl isn’t the boss here and no one’s cheering for her, ignored. How she goes after both Frye and Shiver asking where Frye’s big friend is to help her pass this test, moving right on to saying they’re both just goons making a mess anyway, little fish who should stay in they're bowl, but

that seems to give Frye the idea of hitting back with the “who’s backing you? Imaginary friends?” line… like Marina doesn’t even count as a music partner- or a friend?

Pearl literally yaps about Marina being divine, one of a kind, voice so fine, big mind- raps the lines off her cuff and the heart that's proudly pinned there

And Frye and Shiver go TARGET DETECTED. They lock onto Marina.

Shiver doesn’t bother trying to needle Marina about Pearl, the way their partners were each doing- if Pearl has no shame then at least she DOES still have a weakness, a soft spot, a thing she openly cares about- something they can try riling her up over

(problem: Pearl actually has all the confidence in Marina as a musician, partner, and performer. She's WATCHED Marina be all those things for YEARS now)

In the end Frye and Shiver just rile up the gay feels. Because Marina’s been living with a rapper who LOVES hyping her up even when they’re not on stage- Pearl who said she’d cut a fish for Marina. And if you don’t come to Inkopolis with a lot of self confidence, well then getting some from your girlfriend is fine too

But it’s cute that Pearl’s still so obvious about being Marina's no. 1 fan that Fire & Ice thought they could use it against her XD

Currently thinking about Artemis's will in the code at the bottom of TLG and how it really kinda shows how strained his relationship with his dad still is. Everyone else gets something they're interested in or that Arty thinks they'd like (sound system for Juliet, frozen chicken for Mulch, ethical investments for his mother, etc) and yet for his father he leaves only bearer bonds, despite Artemis I trying to move away from a money-focused enterprise and lifestyle as of TEC. Not to mention it's Butler who would know how to disengage all the booby traps protecting said bearer bonds, further highlighting the difference in trust & familiarity Artemis has with everyone but his father.

#artemis fowl #is this comprehensible? idk #i just think they're a fun relationship to explore #and like i get the reasons why the relationship between the two artemises isn't really elaborated on in canon #and why it exists as it does in the first place but still #your son - whom you had a very businesslike relationship with in his young childhood - talks about money when you are returned to him #after being missing for nearly two years. you tell him you failed and want to be a better father and money isn't all that is important.#a handful of years pass and your son goes missing (and is presumed dead just like you were) and yet returns just like you did #barely a year later though while grappling with his actual death and corpse you find out that no actually nothing had changed #and he still went to his grave with the only bridge between the two of you being money with no interest in other hobbies #what a thing for Tim to experience #from an overthinking and reading too much into things perspective that's heartbreaking #we never hear about Juliet's interest in sports cars or pop music yet that was included in artemis's will for her #compared to like beckett who we know likes bugs and slime and how artemis put that in his will for him #so when we get snippets of Tim's other interests (solar powered planes or his bio-hybrid prosthetic or running marathons or whatever)#and yet Arty didn't include anything about those interests in his will for his father is kinda like... huh.#you never really did change your perception of what would make your dad happy did you #and that would've destroyed Tim

i saw a post saying boom was good bc it feels like it could be done with any doctor/companion duo and honestly that was one of the things i felt was wrong with it

#in a show with a title character that could be Literally Anyone and a companion sharing the lead that could be Literally Anyone #i value the little moments that set this duo apart from the rest. ESPECIALLY when it comes to returning writers like rtd/moff #fifteen and ruby felt a little too eleven/twelve and clara adjacent in boom. in both their dialogue and characterization #space babies also landed a little weird at first bc it lifted a bit from end of the world BUT the scenes that fifteen and ruby #had to themselves. like ruby getting covered in snot and fifteen laughing. or fifteen and ruby looking after the Space Babies #or fifteen going out of his way to save the monster bc that monster is the only one of its kind Just Like Him Fr #that stuff is so good and its also something we haven't seen from another nuwho doctor. the vulnerable bleeding-heart empathy #and a dynamic w a companion that is basically 'two troublemakers that just deeply love fun and adventure and getting into trouble together'#oh yeah and also the devil's chord was peak fiction because it touches on fifteen's renewed connection and love for humanity #and marries it to ruby being a musician and how music like any art is the expression of the human soul etc etc #WHAT MAKES A DOCTOR WHO STORY GOOD TO ME IS PARTLY HOW THE PREMISE TIES INTO THE DOCTOR AND COMPANION'S CHARACTERS #IT HAS TO FEEL LIKE IT WAS TAILOR MADE TO THEM. On a Genshin Poll from a while ago, you said that you could talk about Xinyan way more and it would be nice hear those thoughts! Xinyan is one of favorite Genshin characters (her design is so cool) so if you don't mind talking about her more, I'd love to hear it!

oh i didnt mean xinyan specifically in general i like talking about design (critiquing.nitpicking.praising.etc) so it really extends to most any of the characters. but you asked about xinyan so ill talk about xinyan. design wise shes very nice to look at for. her colors are all so warm with one of my favorite palettes (black/red/white). shes on the simple side compared to alot of other characters and i think its nice makes her alot easier to draw. pretty easy design to remember. for me anyway (big sleeves/braids.big collar. big hair.spikes) i dont really need to give specific reasons tbh her design is just really good. one of the pyro characters ever

#and shes brown always a huge plus for me 👍🏾 id be willing to say shes black coded whether that was intentional or not idk but the way they #did her thats how it came off. brown girl pioneering rock music yeah. along with other things but thats the big one #her designs just really solid its not too crowded and you can tell what shes supposed to be for the most part. u can tell shes punk at the #very least you may not entirely get rockstar without the guitar but she does have the drum #which makes noise as she runs. i love the sound design regarding the characters accessories i thought that was so cool when i first started #playing. i love xinyan alot wish she got more screen time #and wish the time she did get was alongside characters i liked better everything hoyo does is to spite me #sorry game opinions leaking in #most of the reason i like xinyans design really boils down to her being brown and rocker/punk ill always eat that up #asks #anon #oo also fun lil detail i think ppl miss w xinyan is that her eyebrows have lil slits in them some official art leaves it out too #i think it gives her character ^^#mhy

#sometimes the sun is a twink and he loves you and he refuses to leave your brain apparently #he's just so fun! what if instead of knitting thneeds he spins water into clouds! and they can be anything bc they can be any shape!#i realize in hindsight i have a tendency to make characters that embody some aspect of nature and may or may not be a deity lol #so maybe the others could make an appearance! sunler playing a lyre or smth singing about them #the stars and how she knows the fate in the cards #the siblings summer wind and rain #the beast and her orchard #but of course ending with how he's totally cooler and more important than everyone else #and it turns out apollo is not only the god of the sun but also of art and music so it really fits him methinks!#i doubt i could ever pull off running an askblog. however #i like the idea of him causing mischief. oh someone wants this thing to happen? let's make it a game!#keep your friends close from epic comes to mind #i don't have much in the way of story but. there are these two scenes in my head that are SO good #i wanna talk about em so badddd but i don't wanna spoil in case i do something with em #but i will say that one of them is a really really fun reference >:D #and the line “RED IS THE NEW GOLD”#but anyways i think an important part of him is that he loves people. he loves these silly little humans running around more than anything.#because all of this ultimately stems from the idea of the sun missing you when you've been inside for a long time #wanting things to get better for you and being there to celebrate the little victories yknow?#my nonsense

Some short character studies on the notes of Madonna classics.

Do you all remember cassettes and tape players? They were so much fun! Oh, man, I must have spent hours rewinding my tapes with a pen. What a delightful experience that was. I should go for a little scavenger hunt in my bedroom and see if I still have a few around!
