Okay I'm doing it. I'm righting my wrongs. I am finishing campaign 1 of Critical Role, which I abandoned YEARS ago somewhere in the mid 90s episodes because, idk, life happened and I lost interest.

I started back at episode 94, I'm up to episode 99 now and my two main takeaways are:

1) I'm never gonna love Vox Machina as much as I love the M9 or Bell's Hells. Part of it is honestly just personal taste: there's like, only two characters I truly love (Vex and Keyleth, my beloveds) and a few relationships that I care about (the twins, Percy and Kiki's friendship, Vax/Keyleth to some extent, obviously Vex/Keyleth), whereas in the M9 and BH I'm interested in almost everyone, and I love soooo many dynamics! Another part of it (which may also be subjective) is that in CR2 and CR3 I find the cast SO much more at ease with each other's play styles. Like the group dynamic has truly solidified and they all mesh together so well. There's less cross talk, less awkwardness, less moments of tension; there's more balance, more understanding and patience and open joy at everyone doing their thing.

2) That being said, watching Vox Machina is still a uniquely rewarding experience, because yeah they're still finding their footing as a production, but they're also all playing characters they visibly know and love so so so much, characters they created/played for themselves before they ever did for an audience... I don't know, it's less polished, but also when you get to the later VM campaign episodes, the characters truly are family in an organic way that comes, I imagine, from the fact that the cast has spent more time with them than any other characters, and from the fact that these were their first PCs. It feels very nostalgic, in the best way.

yeah i can’t remember which season it was for but a while ago they started teasing the newest season of ays w ryan looking concerned during unrelated shows like ww and they either wouldn’t mention it or would ask ryan if he’s good and then it escalated to him getting kidnapped and tied up and that lead into new eps of ays

they kinda did that in this ep so i’m sus that something w ays is coming soon

i think t5b is next tho so i’m curious if this was just a one time thing or they’ll be doing more for ays

Tonight's dream: VERY specific, gorey-yet-wacky vampire movie.

String quartet catches the attention of a group of vampires, and tries to survive it by sticking together and building traps. They manage to take out 2 of the four, and almost incapacitate the third, but the final vampire queen summons a horde of demons and eventually STABS ALL OF US THROUGH THE CHEST, PINNING US TO THE FLOOR, IT'S OVER, ET CETERA.

Except, wait. If it was a string quartet, why are there only three of us? Well! The last member, being a bit... different than the rest, was not part of this sleepover.

Which is good, because it turns out that character was a MAGIC BARD with a MANA OF 5000 who shows up to save the day, give his band members a thumbs up, and slink away again.

The rest of the story was the very specific clean-up of the building, because all that blood was DEFINITELY a health hazard.

Rewatching some Bunsen Is a Beast to check a fact and oh my gosh, I missed Mikey so much... He's so messed up.

Maybe his parents shouldn't leave him home alone for months or years at a time without touching him. Did they ever think of that.

Also, I found a sketch of adult Mikey smooching Sophie while he's got one hand on the stalker drone to cover his parents' eyes and honestly... that still feels right. I might redraw that.

Apparently I have a draft where Mikey is reassuring his friends that he'll be able to figure out the automatic cat food dispenser because it "looks just like his automatic cereal dispenser" and ?? why didn't I ever post this.

I miss him. World's most perfect man... He is not; he's actually the worst <3

I finished The Mandalorian season 3. So many strong female characters, I LOVED IT AND I LOVE WOMEN AND ELIA KANE I AM READY TO FIGHT YOU IN DUAL I'M TINY BUT MIGHTY KATY O'BRIAN PLAYS HER SO WELL I WANNA FIGHT I HATE ELIA SO MUCH JDKDFNKDKD

When it came out, people had mix reactions; some were very happy that Grogu and Djarin have now their little house but others, if I remember well, were like "but why did he abandon the darksaber?" And so on. It didn't shock me. Djarin was right when he said that the robot weird general grievous thingy took it from him and that Bo-Katan was the one who retrieved it from the creature. I see Mando like this; he lived only by the Creed before he met Grogu. He didn't seem to be that social guy with a lot of friends. He just wants a calm life. After Grogu and everything that happened, he has now a son who is also his apprentice. He helps a lot of people and makes friends along the way. For me it would have been weird to see him on the throne of Mandalore at the end of the season. He is a leader but he doesn't want the power that goes with it or any type of power for that matter. So him not fighting for the Darksaber and going on adventures with Grogu is on point. And honestly, if they wanna do 10 seasons of the Din family going on adventures, saving people, discovering Jedi's secrets or just living a normal life, I'll watch it. The people being Animatronic Grogu, puppet Grogu and CGI grogu made an amazing job and Pedro Pascal plays so well that we can't but believe that Grogu is actually a living being. So thank you to them.

I can't wait for season 4 because yes, new Mando and Grogu adventures but also the Mythosaur!!! How will Mandalore prosper? And unfortunately, the creation of the new order....

The only thing that bothered me a bit during this season is the level-up of the imps. Everytime, we are seeing new droids that are almost impossible to kill but then, they are destroyed and we won't see them again DESPITE they're killing machines. It was the same in The Clone Wars or SW Rebels. I don't know how to explain it.

As a fan, I hope that, as long as good stories are written, we will see Din Djarin on our screens for a long time.

So yeah, The Mandalorian is done, waiting for season 4 impatiently and tomorrow I will start Ahsoka! Just like Star Wars Rebels, I know that The Mandalorian is a Star Wars series I will watch again and again. I have spoken.

I probably will, yeah, but I have to say, I watched the first episode a few weeks back and I was a little underwhelmed. It wasn't bad or anything, but it felt a bit...timid? Bland is maybe a step too far, but idk, I guess the hype set the bar a little too high.

Emmet would not engage in physical fight. His childhood had enough violence, and he and Ingo have made a promise to each other.

He is just here to serve his community, serve his people, and devastate people in Pokemon battles. Nothing more, nothing less.
