every year I would do a Broadchurch rewatch and it fascinates me how after 7 years the series ended I still go back to it and discover new things like "You don't need to call me sir anymore" and then Ellie just stops calling him sir or Hardy in a whole in season 3

how does a cat manage to cause this much damage with one throw up oh my god

#not only did he do it smack bang in the middle of my bed #it soaked through 2 blankets and the bedsheets #leaving a wet patch on the actual mattress #he got it over my headphones and my necklace i left on the bed which are two of my most valued possessions #and he got it on my computer. and the embroidery project i'm working on #which happens to be a whole jacket #some even spilt on the floor. but he miraculously missed every stuffed animal on the bed #and he does this at 9:30 at night. just as i was about to fall asleep #i was in the worst hysterics my dad even started trying to help me #and he's 1. emetophobic and 2. never does anything revolving the cat #alden (cat) is totally fine btw. he's eating and drinking and loafing.#i swear. he was sleeping on my bed for like 3 hours. completely ok. and i leave the room for TWO MINUTES #tw #tw vomit #tw emetophobia #vomit tw #alden updates #.#gothihop speaks

i don’t get how people can complain about the writing “doing Martha dirty” when that same writing gives her an ending that addresses her treatement over the course of the season, allows her to finally put her to foot down, to establish her self-worth as an individual and to air out her grievances, and gives her the most respectful and satisfying exit from the TARDIS we’d yet seen in the show . like it’s one thing to dislike the direction the writing team took with her arc and to criticise it (perfectly fine) and another to somehow miss it entirely lmao . the ‘martha feels out of place, second best, and like a rebound’ is an intentional piece of writing that gets resolved by the end of the season . like that wasn’t smth they threw in for shits and giggles, it had in-story repercussions

#and if u don’t think those repercussions were Enough then that’s totally cool and smth to start a discussion over #but . don’t act as if they didn’t happen lmao??#i just . yells #like i have my own criticisms about the writing (giving the ‘i feel second best to this dude’s past love interest’ to the first POC #companion was . probably not the best of choices let’s be real #though there’s some leeway there as im assuming the character was written before audtions . but still . could have been reconsidered #idk i totally understand why people aren’t fans of the storyline itself (outside of how coherent the writing is) but i think it’s a shame #that many others just kinda seem to miss the point because it’s such a unique and interesting arc to give to a companion #i like fresh ideas!! i like the doctor Actually being portrayed at someone who is clumsy with relationships and emotional intimacy!!#i like it when his trauma spills over in ugly and complex ways like we see in season 3 in regards to his friendship with martha #and i like it even better when his accidentally cruel actions and mistakes get brought up and criticised by the narrative!! like it does in #the end of s3!! it’s so good!!#i enjoy 10 because he’s my favourite wet cat but also because he is allowed to fill up room like a real traumatised individual would #it’s like . okay i enjoy ‘ooo the doctor is the oncoming storm ooo he’s hurt and killed so many people ooo’#but it’s also good to See the actual ramifications of that shit you know . hearing about his legend status is always fun but damn man #is it satisfying from a character analysis POV to see him hurt the people around him . to see him treat his friends poorly on accident #because of his own character flaws . like that’s GOOD #and it just sorta irks me sometimes bc people will have this smug attitude of ‘well MY blorbo isn’t a rude piece of shit and is actually a #paragon of morality’ and like girl i don’t give a shit . that’s fine in small doses but it’s not what’s compelling #people tend to like interacting with ‘angsty traumatised edgy characters’ if their edginess is contained in a nice little box that doesn’t #overspill . fuck no give me the characters that are loud and ugly and unpleasant about their trauma THAT’S THE REAL SHIT #jay rambles #dw.txt #10.txt #marthaj.txt #sometimes u wanna treat the blorbo from your show like a real person sure but sometimes it is better to remember that they are fictional #and there to be considered as part of a bigger story and as an item to analyse . case in poiny #point #maybe i shouldn’t be surprised by this though since people still get hung up over rose quartz

I have obtained a new oc and in the process I've already signed myself up for needing to make at least 3 new ocs for his story which he now has despite me initially Intending for him to be a side character for a different side character to hang out with. My townhouse has over 200 characters on it.

#rat rambles #oc posting #he doesn't have an official name yet but he is my silly billy and I love him #also take every him with an asterisk again he's like super new (I just got him today)#although several elements of his story so far have been things Ive been wanting to do for a while so thats a part of why I have so many #ideas for him already since its some stuff I've been wanting to play around with for a while #the real reason he has a chokehold on me rn is that I tripped and made him my 500 thousanth character with identity issues #I <3 characters with a fucked up relationship with their sense of self and what it even means to be themself #oh hes also a magic cat world character because thats what like 90% of my ocs are from at this point lol #and another goop related guy but this time not directly related to every other goop guy #he doesnt interact with any of them or even know most of them exist #long story short hes a robot who used to not be a robot but remembers nothing abt his life before he turned himself into a robot #all he has as reference is a mostly ruined journal his past self kept that is almost entirely unreadable due to it getting soaked in goop #he knows that this was self inflicted and his approximate age but that's abt it in terms of useful information #early story is mostly just him traveling alone trying to see if anyone nearby knows who he is but after going through like 5 or so towns he #starts to get more worried and upset about the whole situation and starts trying to look into some different missing person reports in #hopes that he can find one of himself #he runs out of the savings he had on him pretty quickly though so he had to figure out how to stay afloat while doing his research #'luckily' he meets a man while looking into one case he found who was willing to let him stick around at his place while looking into it #this guy had some investment in these dissapearances because he suspected that they related to his father and hoped to find any sort of #window in what he was up to since he hadnt seen him since he ran away at around 17 #spoilers his dad is cake this is still connected to cake nonsense because everything in this world fucking does but the main boy himself #actually has no ties to cake or his activities so thats smth at least #but yeah long story short things get. real bad for my boy after the first few months of staying at this guy's place.#yknow how risa in the future was often used as a weapon of war using some unstable chemicals? yeah guess where that started.#mr daddy issue haver over here may understand that his dad is a bad person but evidently that doesnt stop him from being not much better #currently Im planning on having main boy escape eventually and get stuck in the non magic world where he meets april but that could change #it depends on if I want him to interact with the other stories going on at all or not #I probably wont but I would like to leave myself some wiggle room to let him meet more side characters #like (looks with big sad wet eyes) ginger maybe? please? please april? let me see your sister? that you havent seen in years? please?
