It's been talked about to death and back but. JSchlatt joining the DSMP, only ever logging on for lore purposes, playing a fan fucking tastic villain that was an absolute joy to watch on screen, equal parts menacing/intimidating and goofy, completely stealing the show and perfectly matching the silly-but-serious energy of the lore up to that point, doing that for 1 season that I still think is one of the most impossibly coherent and thematically powerful pieces of roleplay media to date, and then having his character die after he'd run his course and never logging on again. was completely fucking legendary. He knew exactly what he needed to do and he did it flawlessly then left.

#i will never not be in awe of how perfectly he could switch on a dime from being ridiculous and taking about quackitys ass #to making the audience believe that he knew so much more than we thought. making us doubt whether EVERYONE except Tommy was working for him #in a second. like i cant express the PRESENCE he had when we were all watching this series live for the first time.#It caught us off guard. youd be laughing along & then hed switch up and youd go Oh. I will absolutely never be normal about the fact that Jensen had to literally fight for Dean to die standing. Like, he had to FIGHT for it. The man wasn't allowed to have any say in the ending of the character he played for 15 years!!! He had to accept Dean dying. He had to accept the rusty rebar. "Take it or leave it" they told him. And he literally had to fight for Dean to at least die standing, head up high.

It's so sickening.
