Do you recover well from surgery? Judging by the two surgeries I've had, oh yeah. I was hyper as hell when I came home from getting tubes put in my ears as a little kid, even though the doctor said I'd be very sleepy. Then, after my cyst removal, I was put on very strong painkillers but was still warned it was going to be a painful recovery, when it totally wasn't. I literally only took painkillers the first day. What addictions have you had? Caffeine, technology. Would you change your name if you became famous? Nah. If Cupid were real, would you hire him to make someone love you? No. I don't want somebody forced to love me. Ever been to an auction? No. Which word(s) do you generally use to describe someone attractive? (e.g. “fit”, “sexy”) It kinda varies with gender. Women I tend to call "beautiful" or "gorgeous," sometimes "hot" or "cute," while men I usually refer to as "handsome" or "hot"/"sexy." The last person you kissed - are they older or younger than you? She's a bit younger. When was the last time someone wanted you to do something, and you refused? Hm. I dunno. I have a hard time saying "no," so. When was the last time you had Pop Tarts? What flavour were they? Many months ago; I kinda stopped eating them because they're truly not filling and just a load of sugar that veils itself as an actual breakfast choice. But anyway, I liked the chocolate sundae ones. Have you ever felt a temperature below 0? No. Did you ever play Spyro? I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!! SPYRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those games were my CHILDHOOD, and it's half the reason I'm dying for a PS4 to play the remastered trilogy. Speaking of which, it'd be awesome if they remade the The Legend of Spyro trilogy as well. I might just like those games more than the originals, but that's a bold statement I'm unsure about. Have you ever dated someone who was of a foreign origin? I dated a Hispanic guy for less than a day. Have you ever read any of your idols’ books/autobiographies? Ozzy Osbourne's, yes. I'm just fucking waiting for Mark to write one, but he's always said he has so little interest in writing about his life. DO IT, YOU FUCK. Do you own any succulents? No. I think they're pretty, though. Do you have a drone? No. What’s your favorite Netflix series? *shrug* What is something a lot of people like but you don’t? Summertime. The heat, the humidity (at least here), the sunburn from just standing outside for ten minutes... I hate all of it. The ONLY two things I enjoy about summer is swimming and then flowers, though spring is the more floral season here anyway. Do you have revenge fantasies that you never actually play out? They've... happened. Did your first real significant other change you at all? Pretty sure forever. Are you waiting to have sex until you’re married? Once upon a time, that was the plan. Now, nah. I'd just want to be in a healthy, stable, and long-term relationship. What do you think about divorce? It's sad, but necessary for some people in order to be happy, which everyone has the right to be. I used to be very firmly against divorce except in extreme cases like abuse, etc., and I'm still definitely no fan of it and think couples should do their best to work things out, but it's incredibly unfair to believe that someone should be stuck for the rest of their life with a person they just don't love anymore. Getting married can be a mistake; don't damn people forever to be chained to their bad decisions. Do you remember the first time your heart broke? What was the reason? It was probably when Dad just abandoned us. What's the worst prank someone has ever done to you? I don't think anyone's ever pulled a sick joke on me. Have you ever seen someone sleepwalk? Yes; my little sister deadass tried to walk outside late at night. Thank God I was on the computer in the living room and stopped her. What song are you listening to right now? I just turned "Mutter" by Rammstein on. When is the last time you cursed? I'm not re-reading, but I have probably cursed fifty times in this survey already. It's so deeply ingrained into my vocabulary. Are there any words on your shirt? No; it's just a plain gray tank top. Why do you forward forwards? I never do because they annoy the fuck out of me. How many people are you interested in at the moment? Just one in a healthy and logical way. I can't be truly interested in Jason because like come on I haven't spoken to him in four whole years. My PTSD just ensures I never forget the memory of who he was, who probably no longer even exists. I mean, look how much I'VE changed in four years. Do you know any mechanical stuff about cars? Nnnnope. Who was the last person (apart from family) that you spent time with? What did you get up to? Apart from family, I have no idea. If you have pets, when was the last time one of them got on your nerves? Venus never does, but Roman can get on my nerves sometimes when I don't let him lay on me when I'm on the laptop in bed. He's a large cat (not overweight, just a big male cat) and blocks the screen big time unless he lies down properly, which he doesn't always do. He still tends to win when he tries to come over, but sometimes I'll block him with my arm, and this spoiled brat will actually slap it a few times before walking away lmao. Would you rather live in a house with a swimming pool or an indoor cinema? Absolutely a pool. I want one badly. Do you own a credit card? If so, do you currently owe any money on it? Could you afford to pay it off tomorrow if necessary? No. How many hours of sleep do you typically get each night? Is that enough to function or would you rather have more? Especially lately, I don't get nearly enough. Like at the time I'm answering this question, it's 4 AM, and I've been up for almost a couple hours. I struggle with falling asleep, I will ALWAYS wake up at least once in the night, and I jerk awake from nightmares regularly still. It's a big reason why I pretty much require naps. Does your house have a loft/basement? Are they functional or do you just use them for storage? We only have an attic. Do you suffer from road rage? What kind of thing tends to set you off or wind you up while driving? No. I'm way too timid of a driver to get that outwardly pissy about stupid people. I'd just judge them in silence, haha. What kind of animal did you last see in the wild? Is that a common sight where you live? Because of just how common they are, I'm going to assume this excludes birds, in which case it was probably a squirrel? Yeah, the normal brown ones are common. Do you post a lot on social media? Since I was fucking stupid enough to post a suicide note on Facebook (I don't want to hear a goddamn thing about "attention seeking," I genuinely wanted to say goodbye), I almost never, ever, share things about my personal life. Even before, it was rare for me to actually share what's going on with me. All I really do now is share relatable, wholesome, or funny shit I find, as well as political things I'm in firm agreement with. What are some habits you have in common with your parents? I pace like my dad, and it drives people crazy because it apparently makes them anxious? I can't think of an obvious one I have with Mom, but I'm sure one exists. Where's your favourite place to swim - the ocean, a pool, river, lake etc? I feel safest and most clean in a pool, but c'mon, swimming in the ocean is so much fun. When you're saving your place in a book, do you use a bookmark or fold your pages down? Or something else? It depends on the book, it seems. Especially if someone else owns it, like in school or something. Is any part of your body hurting at the moment? Is there a specific incident that caused the pain? My legs always hurt. I've shared enough as to why; it wasn't an actual, singular "incident." What was the last thing to make you laugh out loud? OH MY FUCKING GOD. So in group therapy the other day, one of the girls had her bearded dragon out, and he was being aggressive. I think he tried to bite her aND SHE SAID WITHOUT REALIZING HER MIC WAS ON, "fucking dickhead," and everyone d i e d. She's a really cool chick, I'll miss her when I'm finished with PHP. I remember back in Sunday school as a tiny kid I played Mother Mary in one we did in class. Do you chew gum? I have been more lately since my doc upped the dosage of one of my mood stabilizers (which I think is actually helping); I mention that because apparently a side effect is dry mouth, and it's the fucking Sahara in there. He advises those who deal with it to always carry around hard candy or something like that for the sake of forcing salivation, so gum works for me. How old were you when you first started dating? I was in the 7th grade when I had my first "boyfriend," but it was total puppydog love. I started dating my first "real" bf when I was just shy of 16. Are/were your parents strict? Dad, no. I pretty desperately want to, but I don't know if it's realistic. I am so, SO picky, and without meat, it's very questionable as to where I'd get an adequate source of protein. Yeah, but that was a looong time ago when I was actually some semblance of pretty. Do you prefer to take your showers at night or in the morning? I used to be someone who firmly stood by nighttime showers, but now I'm all about them in the morning. It's a nice way to wake up and start the day with productivity. Could you handle living with a male roommate? I mean, I lived with my then-boyfriend once, but I'm going to assume you'd consider him more than a "roommate." Do you take part in paying the bills for your household? No, as I'm unemployed and also don't have disability, so I literally can't. How do you usually celebrate New Years? I really don't do much. Sometimes Mom will grab a pack of daiquiris, but that's pretty much the extent of it. Does the place you work have music playing? What sort? N/A What was the last job interview you went to? At a local grocery store to work in the deli. Got the job, lasted there for not even two hours. :^) Do you know anyone with autism, mood disorders or learning disabilities? Autism and mood disorders, yes. I myself may have high-functioning Asperger's (yes, I know that term doesn't technically exist anymore, it's just the umbrella term of "autism," but w/e). Have you ever had an immediate relative pass away of cancer? My grandmother died of pancreatic cancer, and it's pretty much guaranteed that, unless there's some sudden accident, my mom will die of cancer, too. Hers got too bad to entirely eliminate every trace of cancer cells, so it will inevitably re-emerge at some point, just obviously some place else given that she had a total hysterectomy. Would you rather work in an office, warehouse or on a retail shop floor? Office. Are you a fan of sweet, sour, salty, or savory snacks? I enjoy all of those, but sour I think tops the list.

A comprehensive? list of guitars used in 2gether The Series:

Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about guitars and I’ve only gathered the details included here from reviews of the mentioned guitars. I just really like investigating things that do not and will not benefit my life in any way. Also, I have not and might never read the novel, so I’m not sure if they mentioned the specific models there. These are all my rough guesses, so if you know what these really are, feel free to correct me. The guitars in this list are the ones that actually belong to Tine and Wat, so I didn’t include the guitars that were borrowed from the music club.

1. Westone WE5400 a.k.a Sarawat’s electric guitar

Availability: Discontinued (all the 5400′s in re-selling sites are sold out)

Original Price: 550 USD or around 27000 PHP

Songs Played: Together (ep 1)

Details: Westone, as a guitar manufacturing brand, has been discontinued for a while now. 5400's are supposed to only come in Black, Lime Green, Metallic Blue, Ultra Violet (as seen above), and Yellow, so I’ve never actually seen another 5400 that looks exactly like Sarawat’s. However, Sarawat’s guitar might be customized, but who knows? As for quality, it shouldn’t sound that much different from other guitars it's type. Rare as it may be now that it's discontinued, that does not automatically mean that it's special. 🤷‍♀️ Bright uses a different electric, so this might not be his. It looked like a red Les Paul, but I’ve never had a bigger view of it, so I don’t even know what brand it was.

2. Morris W35 a.k.a Sarawat’s acoustic guitar no.1

Availability: Retired

Original Price: 35000 JPY or 16000 PHP

Songs Played: Click (ep 5), This Person (ep 7), and To You (ep 8)

Details: This model in particular is vintage, so its value might be significantly higher today. Also, you don’t find Morris guitars with the vertical logo anymore, which is why I think Sarawat’s W35 is an original 1979 model (and you can clearly see that it has been worn out to some degree). Where are they getting these guitars??? As for quality, Sarawat’s W35 in particular sounds pretty normal to me when Tine played it on Episode 2. I have seen numerous conflicting accounts about the quality of the W-series and Morris guitars in general, so I cannot, in good faith, judge its quality without hearing the real deal. I do like how it sounded esp during This Person, but they were in a bathroom, so it might have contributed to the sound.

3. Takamine Santa Fe 45C a.k.a Sarawat's acoustic guitar no. 2 and Tine's acoustic guitar

Availability: Retired

Original Price: 1,500 USD or around 75000 PHP

Songs Played: Close (ep 3 Sarawat), Click (ep 5 pt 1= Tine & pt 2= Sarawat), This Person (ep 5 Sarawat), Wish (ep 9 Tine), Your Smile (ep 11 Sarawat), So, It Was All in My Head? (ep 13 Sarawat)

Details: Jesus! That’s one expensive guitar! This sells at around 2000 USD or 120000 PHP now! I’ve only ever heard good reviews about this guitar and Takamine in general, but I’ve got to say that it really does live up to its hype. I mean, if you heard Sarawat play Close and Click on that thing, you’d see how clear it is. Tine better be taking good care of that guitar because our man Sarawat must’ve paid a fortune for that. Even Sarawat’s own guitars are cheaper! This is also the guitar they used in the promotion poster for the series, so it is safe to say that this is THE guitar of the series (and the most expensive jfc). Isn’t it funny that even though it’s technically Tine’s guitar now, the one who plays it the most is Sarawat? I mean, Tine’s gonna give it back to him in 12, but. It also is the most played guitar of the series. How the heck do they carry that around on set like it was nothing???

4. Taylor 214CE a.k.a Sarawat’s acoustic guitar no. 3 and Bright’s personal guitar no. 1

Availability: Available

Original Price: 1199 USD or around 60000 PHP

Songs Played: Everything (ep 6)

Details: When I saw that this one was a newer guitar, I knew that this had to be the guitar Bright uses in his IG videos. Well, you know how Taylor guitars are. I’m actually planning on buying this one myself once I’ve saved up the coin.

Yamaha F340 a.k.a the OST guitar and Bright’s personal acoustic guitar no. 2

Original Price: 200 USD or around 10000 PHP

Songs Played: Kan Goo & So, It Was All in My Head?

Details: I’m actually torn between the F310 and F340, but since the F310 doesn’t come in this color, the F340 might be the closest to Bright’s Yamaha. Bright also used this guitar when he played and sung Kan Goo with Win. I think this really is his guitar because those videos of him singing (not playing) solo in Songs of After Six was taken before 2gether The Series even aired (2018), so he had no reason to bring that guitar there. However, it might just be GMMTV’s prop guitar, but why the heck would they need a prop guitar in the first place??? 😂

Look, Malig-Nancy Pelosi may be a classless, corrupt daughter of a mobster who's only marginally more articulate than Goofy Joey Biden. But back in July, she had this to say about President Trump:

"The fact is: Whether he knows it yet or not, he will be leaving."

She didn't say, "I'm confident he will be defeated," or "Joe Biden is beating him badly in the polls so there's no way he can win," or something like that. The words she used were a tell. Yes, you can argue that she suffers Trump Derangement Syndrome, but I think that it was her TDS that got the better of her and she tipped her hand as to what was up. What I'm driving at is that everything I cited above proves that what happened on Tuesday was a coordinated, multi-pronged, pre-planned event. Pelosi's words just underscore it.

Traitorous, treasonous vermin like Stanley McChrystal are expert at staging so-called "color revolutions" that may resemble grassroots uprisings of "the people" against "tyrants." He is part of the Deep State Globalist cabal and I would not be surprised if the election thievery, along with the threatened violence of the Antifa/BLM street thugs who will be portrayed by the Industrial Agitprop Media disinformation complex as "ordinary citizens fighting for their freedom" as well as the former's election night disinformation op are all interconnected. From everything I have seen over the past four years, you can bet your bottom social credit score credit on it.

So, what can we do? We have a column from Spengler (David Goldman) assuring us that with the Senate still in GOP hands and perhaps a razor thin margin either way in a divided House, as well as a 5-4 or even 6-3 SCOTUS because of ACB, a Joe-Kamal administration will be completely handcuffed for four years. With all do respect to Spengler, these fucking criminals just did the unthinkable and actually stole a national election after spending four years doing the other unthinkable and attempt to illegally reverse the previous election. Do you really think they are going to be bothered by the niceties of the Constitution, regular order, tradition and - wait for it - ethics?!

We also have Miranda Devine insisting "the Dems will not get away with this" as well as the outstanding Michael Anton stating "It will all go according to plan -- unless we stop it." Well, Mr. Anton I am open to suggestions. To my mind, the only way to do that requires the five or six armored or airborne divisions to seize the statehouses and legislatures in question, arrest every damned Democrat in sight, seize all the ballots and/or thumbdrives (evidently that's a thing in Michigan) and declare Donald J. Trump as the winner based on the real projections at about the time on Tuesday night when the Chinese yuan crashed.

And since that is probably not going to happen except in my mind, I don't know really what can be done. The whole thing is now a hot mess of phony ballots, real ballots and the rules and regulations of six states, some of them changed literally almost at the last second before election day to make it impossible to reject clearly bogus ballots. How are the courts or Supreme Court going to clear that up, assuming we have a majority that wants to do so?

Look, for better or worse, in elections past when things did not go the way I wanted, I swallowed, bit the bullet and then moved on. But I never thought in a billion billion years that the American system of free and fair elections would ever be anything but that. And here we are, on par with Zimbabwe in 1980, or Mexico for nearly 100 years with the PRI (which is indeed where we are headed). Yes, the average Democrat voter is upset about what happened NOT because their party sabotaged the election but that they did not get the clear victory they were promised. And now, if Trump does in fact survive this not-so-soft coup attempt, it will further tear the country apart. Not that there is any love lost between the Left and America as founded (or what vestige is left of it). Funny how if Trump does win the shrieking about how the Constitution was ignored or destroyed will be deafening. Ironic, and disgusting at the same time.

It's one thing when the thug terrorists of Antifa/BLM say "by any means necessary." It's quite another when what is supposed to be one of the two major American political parties says it as well and takes it to heart. They lost this election. They know they lost this election. Worse for them, they have lost a good chunk of their base - the disaffected, disenfranchised and so-called "marginalized" "victims" ironically enough who are that way because of Democrat policies. The Deep State machinations of power, thievery and perversion wrapped in privilege also took a massive hit insofar as it was exposed to the people. They lost this election months ago if not a year ago before the phony pandemic hit. They lost it when Trump stated to their faces and for the whole world to see on January 20th, 2017 when he promised to drain the swamp.

But the swamp is wide and it is deep, as we have now seen. So I ask Ms. Devine and Messrs. Goldman and Anton, who are no doubt sincere in their words, yes let's fight back and not let this happen.

i’ve managed to keep this around since 2004... but the file itself definitely has a lot of missing days that im pretty sure i was in chat, and then there’s other part where there was blatantly a corrupt sector or something on the (various) hard drives it got stored on in the ensuing 16 years..

anyway this is by no means a representative sampling or anything, i’ve just been skimming in and out of the whole file - but as passages struck me i copied them into this post. frankly this is the most ive read out of this file since the chats were actually live!! and it’s deeply weird to delve this far back into my own words let alone a lot of people i vaguely still recognize - and others who i dont remember anything about that username at all.

and some of this stuff is just records of netsplits happening or remnants of some of the weird mIRC scripts I used to run for various reasons, and those are fascinating as an example of how this whole method of chatting like physically functioned.

is it funny that the ironic thing is the having a hard time with making decisions could also be because of the restriction because not trying to lecture, just. you know. that's a thing.

I did spend forever trying to figure out which kind of coffee to have the other day so that’s definitely a thing but I don’t think that’s impacting my decisions (or lack therefore) here. in addition to not wanting to gain weight or actually stop what I’m doing, I am wary of going to an RD because I am trying to keep all of this contained and not involve my aunt or family, and I don’t want any higher level of care (which would mean them knowing). not that there are any ED IOP/PHP programs here anyways, but I don’t want to be forced into IP for lack of better options. I didn’t get a chance to fully explain that to carolyn but I will next time. I assume it would be different as an actual adult (as opposed to a 21 year old who had been in ED treatment continuously since age 17) but I wasn’t allowed to make many choices in terms of treatment last time and I don’t want that experience again.

Exploring Vietnam: Day 5 in Hanoi (Ha Long Bay + Thien Cung Cave + Night Market)

Fifth day in the country of Vietnam was spent in a tour going to Ha Long Bay. Ha Long Bay is known as one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Our tour was booked via Klook again.Tourists from this tour were picked up from each hotel we were staying at. Which I think was very convenient since you will just wait in the lobby until the bus comes.

The tour started by having an introduction from our tour guide, Thi, and from each other since we were in a bus from different countries. Our guide was accommodating with our needs and questions about Vietnam. He was also funny and told us different history and facts about the country and Ha Long Bay.

We had a stop over along the way since I think it was a 3-hour trip going to Ha Long Bay from Hanoi. It was a stop over that I will never forget - we got locked inside the bus! Well, it was mostly our fault since we decided to stay but we didn’t know the driver will lock the doors. Vlogged about it and the video could be watched at the end of my post!

DAY 5 JULY 26, 2019

HA LONG BAY

The transportation from hotel to Ha Long Bay and vice versa, bottled water, entrance ticket, boat ride, lunch, and snacks were included in the tour package we availed from Klook.

Here’s how the boat looks like. This is also the place where we had our lunch while going to the Thien Cung (Heaven) Cave. It was an hour or two trip before reaching the cave.

I wasn’t able to take photos of the food since we have other people in the table which might be disrespectful for them.

It was actually hot and humid while staying inside the boat. The sun was up but we decided to stay in the boat while the others went out, had kayaking and tried the bamboo boats.

The scenery was amazing from the dock while going to the Thien Cung Cave. Seeing it personally gives it calming and relaxing feeling.

I was glad seeing a lot of greens and blues which means the Ha Long Bay was well taken care of. There were no trash in the waters however, I saw some after visiting the cave. So I do hope, tourists that visits the place will throw their trash in its respective places to avoid further damage with our nature.

This photo was taken while the others went down and tried Kayaking. While my friends and I went up on our boat and had our photos taken. Being up there was refreshing as I can see a 360-degree view of the Ha Long Bay.

THIEN CUNG (HEAVEN) CAVE

After the kayaking activity, we proceeded going up the Thien Cung Cave, also known as the Heaven Cave.

It took some steps before reaching the cave itself. Steps were a little slippery since I think it was from the stalagmites and stalactites.

The reason this cave was called Heaven Cave because of how the light enters it. It does feel like “Heaven” as everything was bright and makes you feel how beautiful nature really is.

Here’s a view as we exit the cave. The cave was actually high and big!

After seeing the Thien Cung (Heaven) Cave, it’s time to end the tour and go back to our buses then to our hotel.

Ha Long Bay was a good tour to experience as it would let me see the wonders of nature in another country, specifically Vietnam. The long hours in traveling was surely worth it.

XOI YEN

We tried Xoi Yen for dinner which is known for its sticky rice in Hanoi.

There were different choices for the sticky rice and I opted for the Xoi Yen with Corn which costs VND 15, 000 (PHP 33) per serving. We also a serving of Braised Beef and Braised Pork which costs VND 18, 000 (PHP 39.60) each.

The rice is definitely sticky but scrumptious. It’s texture isn’t that bad and is almost the same as the texture of a newly cooked rice. Both the beef and pork were soft, chewy, and delicious. The meat were the perfect combination for the sticky rice.

Having sticky rice for dinner made all of us so full and satisfied. For its price, and quantity, it is surely worth it and worth a shot to try.

NIGHT MARKET

What is the perfect way to spend after eating dinner? Going to the night market!

There were a lot of locals and tourists in the area along Hoan Kiem Lake where the night market is located.

There were a lot of little stalls along the streets that sells variety of items such as: phone cases, mirrors, clothes, accessories, food, and more! I wasn’t able to take more photos since it was getting crowded that time.

In the night market, haggling is the key to buy better and cheaper items. We were able to haggle some items we bought for a cheaper price. It was a fun experience going to a night market in a different country.

Day 5 was tiring but exciting! We were able to see the beauty of nature in Vietnam, experience a local dish, and experience going to Hanoi’s night market.

5/19/22. Today I stayed up late (past 1am) just to watch Taylor receive her honorary doctorate degree and of course listen to whatever she has to say (which is always worth listening to). It's also been a while since her last public appearance so just the sight of her means a lot to my swiftie heart.

Commercial: I also got my Speak Now album today. Special thanks to Panda CD shop for the Php 500 voucher I won from the Grammy Predictions game. Hehe. I wouldn't have bought an album if not for that, since I'm already in my "SpendWisely" era.

I can already see myself being emotional on my College graduation day. Funny how I'm not even done with my freshman year yet (though almost). The feeling of finally getting there is surely way beyond than I can ever imagine. But perhaps it's not that bad to be in the position I'm in now because the real world sounds scary and most likey more difficult in its own way. I guess life is really not supposed to be as easy as we want it to be. We can never get enough of all the difficulties. We're gonna be struggling as a student, and without a doubt, we're gonna be struggling as a working citizen. But we can live with all of it as long as we're fortunate enough to breathing.

What is PHP? The PHP Programming Language Meaning Explained

PHP is an open-source server-side scripting language that many devs use for web development. It is also a general-purpose language that you can use to make lots of projects, including Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).

In this article, I will help you explore the world of PHP so you can learn how it works and its basic features. By the end, you will be able to write your first Hello World program in PHP.

What Does PHP Mean?

Open Source: PHP is open source. The original code is made available to everyone who wants to build upon it. This is one of the reasons why one of its frameworks, Laravel, is so popular.

Easy to learn: PHP is not hard to learn for absolute beginners. You can pick it up pretty if you already have programming knowledge.

PHP syncs with all Databases: You can easily connect PHP to all Databases, relational and non-relational. So it can connect in no time to MySQL, Postgress, MongoDB, or any other database.

Supportive Community: PHP has a very supportive online community. The official documentation provides guides on how to use the features and you can easily get your problem fixed while stuck.

Wikipedia: one of the world's largest sources of information on any topic, Wikipedia is built in PHP.

Content Management Systems (CMSs): the world's most popular content management system, WordPress, is built in PHP. Other content management systems such as Drupal, Joomla, and Magento are also built in PHP. Shopify runs on PHP too.

Web Hosting Platforms: a lot of Web Hosting Platforms such as BlueHost, Site ground, and Whogohost run their hosting servers using PHP. Is PHP Dying?

Who Uses PHP

A number of established companies and tech giants use PHP to run their servers and make a lot of incredible things.

Facebook: Facebook uses PHP to power its site. In turn, the company contributed to the community by creating an implementation known as Hip Hop for PHP.

Nowadays, there's an intense debate on whether PHP is on the decline or not. This is because of the advent and increasing popularity of other languages suited for the server-side such as JavaScript (Node JS), Python, Golang, and others.

This has actually led to a lot of funny memes targeting PHP

But is PHP really dying? The answer is no. Despite some people bashing on it and the claims of decline, PHP is still used to run the servers of almost 80% of all websites today. So, if you visit 10 websites a day, there's a chance that 8 of them use PHP.

In terms of job availability, PHP ranks better than a lot of other programming languages on the job platform Indeed. A lot of PHP developers make a good living making WordPress themes and plugins every year – the average PHP developer in the US makes year.

Conclusion

PHP remains a relevant and widely-used language in web development. Despite the mockery and debate on whether it’s still valuable, PHP developers keep earning good livings from working with the language. So, PHP doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Calay Indochina Trip (April 17-22, 2018)

Jealousy is something that needed to be addressed for a better relationship. So when my Tatay got jealous of my Hong Kong trip last October 2017, I acquired insomnia. My mind can't stop thinking of the best place where my Tatay can get a great experience with a very small budget. Thanks to Colz’ post in DIY Philippines Facebook Group about her Indochina Trip, I finally got some sleep. They day after the long peaceful sleep, I immediately invited my friends who I know love to travel also. Fortunately, I convinced my Baka-chan, Reinee, and Johnrey. This is the start of our failed and unsatisfying but definitely unforgettable Indochina trip that we will surely laugh about when we get older.

Planning for Indochina Trip really needs a lot of research. Imagine going into one country after another, one should really know everything that he/she needs to know.

DAY 1

Thanks to Traveloka, we were blessed to find an Airasia seatsale going to Ho Chi Mihn, Vietnam with connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. So we automatically had an additional country aside from our original Vietnam-Cambodia-Thailand travel.

We exchanged our peso to Ringgit in NAIA just to be sure to have a money to spend enough for DAY 1. It is better to change your money in NAIA than in any airport of the country you are going into.

We depart from Manila around 5:30 PM and arrived at Kuala Lumpur by 9:05 PM. KL's airport is really big. We rode Aerobus going to KL Sentral and their Rapid KL (counter part of MRT here in the Philippines) going to Masjid Jamek Station - the nearest station to our accommodation. We didn't have data so we weren't able to locate our hostel easily. It took us a lot of walking. People pointed us to places everywhere. They can barely understand us and we can barely understand them as well. Fortunately, Rajid (a staff from China Hostel) helped us to contact our hostel and booked a grab for us. (THANK YOU RAJID!) Finally by 2am, we were able to get some sleep.

I experienced the same in my HongKong trip. So I suggest to book an accommodation nearest to a landmark. Also, ask the right person so you don't need to get lost even worse.

We booked a night stay at Grand Mountbatten Boutique Hotel through Traveloka as well for P1750 for 5 pax 350 each - very cheap.

Day 1 is like Day 0. We weren't able to go anywhere but our hotel.

DAY 2

We woke up by 6am and started our journey by 7am. Our first stop is Batu Caves. We got lost because apparently KTM Kumuter is not working, and we do not know how to get there via other transportation. So we asked, and rode a free bus up to KTM Sentul Station, from here we waited for more than an hour before it departs to Batu Caves. This is the heartbreaking part. We weren't able to take into consideration the waiting time of the departures because we have a different itinerary. Some things really don't go according to the plan.

We enjoyed Batu Caves, especially for me and my Tatay. I just love natural things. I prefer going to these tourist destinations (just like Ngong Ping Village in HK) than in the city. The monkeys and doves are everywhere! You can even get a shot like you're in Rome with those doves. And my Tatay experienced getting his polvoron rubbed by the monkey. It's so funny. The Big Buddha is really enormous. It's amazing.

Inside the Batu Cave

You need to climb 272 steep steps before reaching the cave. But the fear, hunger, and effort are totally worth it. It's a huge cave. They have a small temple inside it. Again, the monkeys are everywhere.

Just a reminder: do not wear shorts or skirts above the knee. You will be asked to pay 5 MYR for the cloth which they will wrap around your waist.

We went back to the KTM Komuter by 11am. This is where everything messed up. We weren't able to eat breakfast and lunch because of the hectic schedule. We weren't able to go to Petronas Twin Towers (yeah I know 💔💔💔) And the worst part is, we missed our flight going to Vietnam. Yes we idiots did.

We got no choice but we are still blessed. Flight from KL to Siem Reap, Cambodia is cheap. So we decided not to go the Vietnam and just go straight to Cambodia. And we booked our accommodation in Cambodia through Agoda for PHP 2265.59 each.

We spent the whole day at KL Airport and waited for our 7am flight to Cambodia. We are so broken that we didn't even talk about going back to KL Sentral for Petronas Twin Towers and we are too afraid to miss the flight again.

DAY 3

We arrived at Siem Reap, Cambodia by 9AM. Took a tuktuk ride from the airport to Kok Meng Lodge. The Inn doesn't allow us to check in yet because it's too early. So we had no choice but to go to Pub Street without taking a bath. We just walked straight from Kok Meng Lodge to Pub Street, it is just 5 to 10 mins walk away. It is a very hot late morning. We are all sweaty and sleepy.

We ordered a sharing food for lunch. Johnrey bought a booked from a disabled vendor. We talk about our frustrations in this trip.

We went back to the inn ( Kok Meng Lodge ), took a bath, got some sleep, and went out to take a look of Siem Reap. We intentionally didn't go to Ankor Wat because it will be unfair to Baka-chan's friend who was left in Vietnam.

Upon walking, we bumped into a tuktuk driver and asked him where we can go.

But before anything else, James, our tuktuk driver took us in a street restaurant to eat meryenda.

Yes, these heavy meals were our meryenda. And yes, we were that hungry. XD

He took us to the War Museum, Tatay and Johnrey obviously enjoyed it in different reasons. Tatay is into guns and other war equipment, there were tanks! And Johnrey is really interested in history. War Museum has a lot to tell.

After the War Museum, James Peter, our tuktuk driver, took us to one of Angkor Wat temples for free! This is because you can enter Angkor Wat Complex after 5pm for free.

We just went to Pre Rub, amazed by the work of men, the sunset and took beautiful photos.

Early discovery of talent

The complex is so peaceful. There are a lot of trees, and a lake. I love the environment.

When it got dark, we decided to go back to Pub Street and end the trip with this Pacquiao-fan tuktuk driver. James is really accommodating and pleasant. He only asked us 12 Dollars for the whole trip. Thanks James! I hope to see you again!

We booked a bus trip from Siem Reap to Bangkok Thailand via HANG TEP TRAVEL CO., LTD. for 20 Dollars. Just to make sure that we will get to Thailand.

We finally experienced the Pub Street life. And took a mandatory shot in Pub Street sign, ate dinner, look for some souvenirs, and tried fish massage. That was a great night. And that's the best night in our trip. Cambodia is the best that happened to us.

DAY 4

We were supposed to go to Angkor Wat but the group realized that it is a waste of money going to Angkor Wat for just one hour because we booked an early trip going to Bangkok. Yeah, this is another heartbreaking story. We came here to see the Angkot Wat, yet we failed again.

By early 7AM we took the bus going to Thailand. Reached the border by 12pm and the next 4 hours was hell. We lined up in the immigration for 4 hours! We were on an open space covered with a high roofing, the line was very long. It was a very hot afternoon. And we didn’t have anything in our stomach but water. It was a very painful experience. This was the point that I realized that I need to tell you these guys. INDOCHINA TRIP IS VERY EXHAUSTING. YOU'LL EXPERIENCE HUNGER, TIREDNESS, AND DIZZINESS.

And this was us, in front of the line after hours. They just called from the line and prioritized us, maybe our bus guides did the work. Thanks no thanks. They’re too late.

We departed from the Cambodia-Thailand border by 4pm and reached Bangkok by 9pm. So Day 4 was spent in the immigration and on the road. We headed straight to Khao San Road and exchanged our dollars to baht. Finally, we were able to eat our first meal of the day. We had just some peanuts while on the bus. So yes, dinner was our first proper meal of the day. I thought I was gonna die out of hunger, imagine how my 62 year old father suffered. I'm sorry.

We tried the famous Pad Thai with Shrimp and egg. It tastes good actually. Go ahead and try it.

Nope he didn’t eat it.

We stayed in an airbnb very far away from public transportation so we got no choice but to ride the taxi all throughout our Bangkok stay. So don't make the same mistake. Book an accommodation near public transport or your desired destination even if you pay more because it is just the same booking a cheaper accommodation then spending in grab and/or taxis plus the hassles.

DAY 5

This was our last chance to make the most of our Indochina trip. We woke up early and started the day going to Damnoen Floating Market. We took the grab going to Southern Bus Station and ride the bus going to Damnoen Floating Market for THB**. It was a 2-hour ride. Make sure to enjoy the view going to the South of Bangkok. Upon reaching the pier, there were offers going to the actual floating market for THB 1,000 for the 6 of us. Grab it. I know that some blogs would say not to fall for it. But based on a recent experience, for that amount you get a free 1-kilometer ride. This is the distance from the pier to the actual floating market. But we declined this offer.

Then, a van offered to bring us in the second pier. There, they offered us THB 300. We still didn’t agree with the price because based from the blogs we read the 300 THB is supposed to be for all of us already. So what we did is to walk from the bus stop to the floating market. It was a long and hot walk.

And upon reaching the actual floating market, the fee is 200 THB. The floating market is a little bit crowded. There are many boats. It is really a floating market. Vendors are selling products in the boat, although some are on the riverbanks.

We bought Chinese soup for breakfast for 60 THB, and mango shake for 65 THB. The Chinese soup is okay, and the mango shake is satisfying. The vendor of the shake is also very beautiful, she’s like a Korean.

Going around the river, we also saw some local houses. We also saw lizard-like creature – I don’t know what it is called. It was swimming in the water. It’s kind of scary but just fine because it didn’t swim towards our boat. The sailor of our boat asked for a tip. So you better budget also for these miscellaneous expenses.

Going back to the bus station, we rode a yellow jeep for THB 10. We took a grab going to the City to go to the temples. This is where the second most heartbreaking part of our trip comes in (first is our missed Vietnam flight).

I said that DAY 5 should make up this failed trip. We started the day right but ended up scammed. Upon reaching the city to visit the temples, we looked for the pier where we were supposed to ride the boat going to the temple.

Then there’s this some guy who offered us help maybe because we were obviously lost – we can’t find the pier. He instructed us to ride the tuktuk going to the pier, so we did.

Remember this man’s face! He is a scammer! ALL THE HATE ON HIM!

The tuktuk brought us to a pier. A lady in the pier was charging us, if I remember it correctly, 1600 THB each for the boat ride, then we bargained it down to 600 THB which was supposed to be, if you go to the right pier, 15 THB only. So you see, we were scammed, they didn’t even give us a ticket.

At first we kinda like it.

But then, we just went around a shallow and unpleasant canal.

And after the 1 hour (which was really less than 1 hour) CANAL boat tour, all the temples were already closed. YES they were all closed, so we didn’t got the chance to enter at least one temple. :(

We just went around and took some photos with other temples.

This day gets from worse to worst, even the Chatuchak Market was already closed when we get there so we also didn’t have the chance to do “Bangkok Shopping”.

We just went back to Khao San Road and had some decent dinner.

The next day, (DAY 6)

We went to the airport and traveled back to the Philippines. And our pasalubongs? We bought it from the airport because that’s the only choice we had.

THAT’S IT. Our Indochina trip just went like that. Spending five days on the road and having an unworthy experience. If I could only correct everything. I guess we just need to charge this to experience. At least we got 9 passport stamps. (Yey!)

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to my travel buddies – Tatay, Reinee, John Rey, Baka-Chan, Babes ni Baka-Chan – sorry guys, I know that this is not what we wanted. I hope to travel with you again next time, and by that time, we will finally enjoy our trip.

Indochina Trip is not always like this. It’s always different for all of us. It’s just that we got to experience the opposite of anything that you can call good. I suggest you allot longer days for this trip, then for sure, you will have a blast.
