This is more, like, broaching the topic of your first time. It's not my best work imo but I need to set this down before I keep fiddling with it. Also the keep reading break keeps moving stop that.

So, we all know Rika fucks. Even though I've characterized her as someone who's secretly a disaster behind closed doors because fuck she loves her girlfriend, she's gotten plenty of action before getting with you.

To Rika, sex is just all about making each other feel good. She's had many partners before, a casual fling or two here and there. It's not a big deal to her, but she understands that not everyone feels that way. So when you draw boundries at touches that were too close and intimate for you to handle, she backs off, careful to not pressure you into anything you aren't alright with.

It's a simple question, really. "Why didn't you want to go any further?" No bitterness, no upset, just your girlfriend wanting to know where your boundries lie so she understands how to best navigate the intimate aspect of your relationship.

When you tell her you're a virgin, she really isn't surprised. Again, Rika's been with many people before, some who are wise beyond their years with experience and other's having none. Your shy touches whenever she was so close, the clumsiness in your actions and uncertainty of where to place your hands, it all was a give away, honestly. Not that she'd tell you, though. The last thing she wanted was to make you feel ashamed for something that really wasn't a big deal.

So she waits. She tells you as such. She'll wait for you to feel ready before trying to press forward again, but she does let you know that she'll be treating you to the best night of your life if you came around to the idea.

She doesn't show you but honestly she's so fucking excited. Being your first time? Setting the standard for any of your future partners, should you have any past her? Corrupting you? It's kinda hot to her. She wouldn't bring up the last part, though. Rika Corruption kink is real to me, but she's not going to spring that on you. Your first time should be sweet and gentle, about you and your pleasure. So she'll reserve that idea for when she gets off on her own.

The day you tell her that you think youre ready, she is over the moon. It's a little sudden on your part. You had been thinking about it for days, and wanting nothing more than to feel her all over you, over the most intimate parts of you, but were just too anxious to actually make the push. What if it wasn't all that you thought it would be? What if you messed something up? What if you did something really gross and it turned Rika off so much that she didn't even want to touch you? But your want eventually outweighs your worries.

It's a stammered confession, holding her hand, playing with her fingers as you get the words out, embarrassment burning up your face, thoughts going a million miles per minute, but you try your best to focus on Rika, the way her face brightens up at your words, the way she grabs your hand and squeezes it tight, her lips pressing on your forehead, the reassureance in her voice as she tells you that tonight she'll take care of you. Pamper you like you deserve.

Maybe telling her in the morning was the wrong decision, because you go through the rest of the day completely distracted, overthinking and worrying about what will happen when you get home, yet still excited at the prospect, left pressing your thighs together while trying to get any meaningful work done.

You get home before her that night, as you typically will, trying to act normal. Make some dinner, get cleaned up, don't overthink ever little thing. Normal nightly activites. Your heart stammers in your chest as you move around your apartment, but practically stops when the front door creeks open, a call of "I'm home!" echoing through the halls. She finds you quickly, pulling you into her arms, kissing you gently, complaing about the work day. You mention dinner, her face brightens, quickly returning to the kitchen to eat. Your normal nightly routine.

Rika's demenour is normal, but youre fidgeting and anxious. Bouncing your leg as you eat, trying to ignore the heated pit in your stomach. You can't think straight, simply nodding and humming along as Rika talks. How can you focus on her words at a time like this? She notices, obviously. She knows you, although anyone could look at you and tell something was up just by looking at you.

You're snapped out of your thoughts when her hand touches your thigh, not heated, just gentle, enough to make you look at her in the eyes for the first time since this morning, worry evident on her face.

"Do you still want to go through with this?" It's soft and quiet, for your ears only. You can only nod, placing your hand on top of her own. You were ready for this, you were tired of running away from what you wanted from overly anxious thoughts. A smile works it's way back onto her face, soft on the surface, but laced with an unmistakble heat, quickly standing up, ready to wisk you away to the bedroom. As much as she'd like to take you, taste you, right then and there, she was going to give you a proper first time.

i just finished playing the demo on itch and so far i really like the story, lore and the characters.

beside this i also have some things, i didnt like/critique:

1.) i was playing as a intimidating&cold MC. unfortunately the flavour text (aka the story/text between choices) didnt really reflect this. the whole time i was reading it felt like the story was written with a caring MC in mind and the cold-option was only added last minute to have a "counter" to the caring-"personality".

2.) following up i didnt really like how mordred was introduced and because of this his following scenes. i really wished that there was an choice about how MC´s opinion is about children. for example, i dont think my cold MC would be so overexcited in meeting a child. and even if children were her "weakness", it would be a choice i, as the player want to make. i mean, there is a choice we can make about how touch averse our MC is (disclaimer: not complaining about this), but no choice about their stance towards children? and yes, i understand that mordred seems to be important to the story and thats why there cant be a choice like "i hate you/children". here is an idea: before meeting mordred the player gets the following choice, where we set Mc´s opinion about children. we have the options: you love children/\you are fine with children/\you dont usually like children much, but mordred has something special. this choice and potentially MC´s personality (cold/caring) would influence how MC reacts towards mordred. as another example; at some point you can ask gwyar about mordred and the text then states: "Everything Morien just said melts your heart. Since you’d like to get closer to him you ask, “is he passionate about anything?”" this like i already said, feels quite forced to me.

also another issue i had with mordreds first scene was the choice on how to react to the gift he gives MC. there are 3 choices, which imo boils down to: thank him overexcitedly/\thank him excitedly/\thank him with a smile. once again in my opinion none of these fit with a cold MC. and just to clarify, this isnt something specific towards mordred. in general there should be options for all personalities in important situations; and not all of them need to increase the counter in them. so if someone wants to play a caring MC, they should still be able to take cold options without risking to change their personality.

3.) more options for the purpose of roleplay. i explain it at the following example:

during ch.2 after the meeting with the nobles, you meet arthur and he asks you how it went. currently there are 2 options: either "it went well" OR "it didnt go well". i propose adding 2 more, so that we have 2 "it went well" and 2 "it didnt go well"-options. in that case one of each could lean more into the cold personality, while the others are more caring. none of these would increase the respective stat and wouldnt change the following text/outcome. lke i said, simply for roleplay purpose.

i apologize if it comes off as too hostile/insulting. its just these points for me are rather big/important and i admit, if the demo was longer i would probably had stopped it early.

anyways i have one question: maybe i missed it but are all mounts dragon of different kind? so is the venegard mount a water dragon?

I am glad you liked the overall story! I'll answer each point as best as I can

1)unless it's a general feeling that persists through the whole game, I'd be very grateful if you (or anyone with the same grievance) could give me some specific examples, just because it would be easier for me to edit the text and try to make the cold character trait feel more integral.

I structured the cold/caring intimidating/unassuming traits to be equally important to each Hound, so I'd hate if one of those trait was preponderant over others. Note however that some reactions are set, for example:

2) I mentioned this a good while back so many of you might not know, but it is canon that MC is soft for kids. Your suggestion honestly would be implementable, but unfortunately it wouldn't make much sense with other set encounters MC has/will have with children in the story (one example being the ship kid). Although, one thing I can promise is to revise the text around Mordred and perhaps add choices that let MC be less outwardly attached to him, and maybe take this relationship slower (so to be more cautious of Mordred, at lest at first, also considering his relationship to Arthur).

3) very honestly, the reason why I do not provide many choices like some other IFs is that on one side, the Hound is slightly more set as a MC, on the other side (the most important reason) I cannot offer more variations than I currently have - because I already struggle to write and I don't want to overwhelm myself. Perhaps in the future I can edit the game and add more things, but for now I am at my limit, I'm sorry.

4) don't worry, I actually like receiving critiques, it helps me be more objective on my work and potentially improve on some points. The House mounts are all horses, though with peculiar characteristics: the Pendragon mount has dragon like scales, while the Venegard mount is basically a Kelpie

so i mentioned before in my part 3 that the japanese language has an inbuilt hierarchy quirk to it. and i kind of noticed this nuance getting somewhat lost in the english translation, either because again i have skill issues with english, or that EN inherently doesnt come with the same quirk.

elaborating a bit more: this hierarchy of position/standing can be determined by age, profession, occupation, and experience. in terms of hard priority, age and profession tends to take precedence over everything else.

this means effectively, vash being over 150 should be top dog and given respect in JP/Asian context (respect your elders! or else!!), but because he 1) looks 24, 2) uses very immature speech with strangers, 3) uses boku, hes effectively keeping his head down and posing as a dumbass schmuck.

and yet his meeting with Kaite is chaotically bad to say the least. i mean, he even gets drugged and knocked out. Kaite does not respect the guy who gave him food at all and plans to seemingly feed him 3 meals a day for the entire trip. so how? well.

once Brilliant Dynamites Neon comes in and turns things serious, Vash's starts doing a few interesting things.

skipping forward this and that. after getting almost blown off the sand steamer, vash holds onto kaite and they both cling on for dear life:

this is ultimately what gets tough nut kaite to trust vash to get down to business to defeat The Neon. even without the words hes visually getting himself to be on the same (eye) level with kaite. i think its so good alsdjfdsa

kaite starts crying after thinking of his dad and regretting what he's done, gets caught in a regret reflection loop, but vash brings him back to reality. like this:

another reading of this "What the hell are getting all sentimental for now ya brat?!" line might be "What. Good. Is. It. To. Lose. Your. Grip. On. Yourself. Now. You. Dummy?!"

with this he puts kaite's head back into reality and readjusts both their priority.

so again. vash just. is good with kids. his emotional intelligence is through the fucking roof as proven by all the other moments throughout tristamp and trimax*

idk its warms me bc. the asian confucius hierarchy is so... yuck. im technically of chinese descent so i know how fucked it is. so. vash is really cool with this slightly extra japanese asian hierarchy context.

i think this aspect of vash is something i dont see in english fanworks a lot, and not in the same tone. on the other hand, i do see this a lot in the jp fanworks. so idk exactly what factors or if im looking in the wrong places, but yeah. vash is good with kids. just like wolfwood.

The Ultimate cookie-Possibly-While I don't doubt they will be a huge threat within DE update, they seem more likely to have their issues resolved within that ultimate.I cant personally see them acting as an overarching villain,but it still possible

Longan Dragon Cookie-Likely-I can definitely see them being an overarching villain, especially they have good motive to be one but same time,I can see the kingdom going different direction from OB with this one.In what direction?I am not sure.

DE-unlikely-Maybe this is just me wanting a different villain, but I hope it isn't DE again.She is getting kinda stale,pun not intended.I can see them possible redeeming her,or kill her off.It can go either way.

Three sisters' boss-slightly possibly- while definitely an odd choice I picked,I do think it would be cool if this organization we only heard in passing turns out to be a bigger threat though I am aware something could also just be in the background.

Timekeeper-really unlikely-I love TK but I can't see them being villain.They are more or less chaotic neutral, if anything I can see them kickstarting an event that causes the main threat to emerge but as main villain?Nah that ain't their style.Not mention,they are OP as fuck,so I doubt it will work.

The Witches-possibly but unlikely-While it would be cool,the witches have always been in the background.It wouldnt make sense to make them main threat though a cookie connected them might possible.Just not first egg for obvious reasons

New threat-likely-I can see them going this route.Either making Ult cookie the new threat,doubt,or something else.Like I said we will see.

One or two- clarification this doesn't mean these villains are working together but more or less two threats, main one and background one that eventually escalate into become a big threat.If that make sense.

i know he made a post shortly after his "i want to start low dose hrt to deepen my voice" about doing femme voice training and showing it off to wis. i cant bring myself to dig it up since its been a month but i remember it. everything points to wis trying to sabotage any attempts at medical transtion she possibly can. its fucked up, especially when she got pissed at someone for remembering the "you could force femme salem" post and asking about it to salem to the point of full on gaslighting.

also! i didnt mention it when the "im dysphoric and want my voice deeper" posts were happening because i was busy and it completely skipped my mind but you can do masc voice training. the biggest issue with it is if you start t you will have to unlearn it to some degree (mileage may vary) due to the natural deepening that happens. i did it pre t due to how dysphoric my voice made me and got to a point where people assumed i was a girly cis man if they only heard my voice. i lessened up on it after i was t for a bit as my voice naturally entered that range with the help of hrt.

he literally couldve skipped t all together and voice trained to get the results he wanted from t, but instead he did femme voice training and only femme voice training purely to please wis. he couldve done both, its possible to do both. femme voice training requires you to speak from your head and masc requires you to speak from your chest. you can learn to do both and such a skill is something that im sure most voice actors like to work on. he couldve learned how to do both and done something that would actually address his dysphoria and also something that leaned into the force femme shit he has going on. instead hes letting his gf sabotage every attempt at medical transition he even so much as mentions wanting while lying about the force femme fetish he used to be very open about.

also! you can medically transition and engage in either force femme or force masc kink! force femme/masc doesnt mean you have to detransition! you can go back to being man, woman, both, or none of the above after getting force femmed/masced!! you can get both force femmed and force massced, you dont have to pick one especially when your trans! those kinks often get used by trans people as a way to feel safer expressing desire to transition via "someone is decideing to do the thing i wanted all along for me" but there are trans people-mainly nonbinary or gnc trans people-who engage in it as a source of genderfuckery. force femmeing a trans man doesnt magically make him a woman, just like force femmeing a trans woman isnt what makes her a woman!

the way wis (and salem by extension) reacted to the person who vaguely remembered the "you could force femme salem" post and asked about it politely and in good faith however says that they are engaging in it in a way that could be construed as transphobic. afterall, if it wasnt being done in a transphobic way then there would be no need to not lie and gaslight about it despite salem openly sharing his interest in it in the past. if it wasnt being done in a transphobic way wis wouldnt need to sabotage every single desire to try and start hrt by salem. if it wasnt being done in a transphobic way salem would be honest about having it as a kink and wis would encourage salem to start t while still still engaging in the kink with him.

i do not think, he is too educated, on actually transitioning. considering, he has said things in the past about binding, that make no sense, if you are someone who has bound, in the past.

"no binder was big enough" for c cup breasts, at the biggest, is not possible. it can be uncomfortable, to wear a binder. but binders, can fit up to F cup breasts, depending on what you get.

he also, recently, revealed he is not educated, on the forms of testosterone. on his recent post, detailing wanting to go on t. he was not even aware, of the effects of things like gels, vs things like injections.

i think, if he DOES genuinely, want to transition. he should take the time, to research what these things do, and the many forms it takes. it was mentioned prior. but i do wonder, if wis colors his idea of transitioning.

Here to give you one last big update on my Origins playthru and to say I finished the base game!!! (If that seemed fast it kinda was, I legit have not been able to put the game down in between my work shifts this week it was just that good.) But anyways! As far as the big stuff goes:

I had Emyr kill Loghain in the Landsmeet duel. For as much as I as the player can understand the logic of "recruiting someone strong to the wardens when you need as many hands as possible to help defead this archdemon" and might have gone that way, my warden Emyr was way past the point of forgiving him. If it hadn't been for the Alienage slaver issue, he'd have Maybe considered it. But the Alienage was his home as a child and his parents were still there, so that was the final straw for him. (That and the fact that he and Alistair were finally on really good terms and there's no way he was going to fuck that up in the final hour.)

We put Anora on the throne! I Do like what I've heard of king Alistair route, but I both didn't harden him (had no idea I Could even do that til way later lol) and Emyr wouldn't have ever forced that on Alistair to begin with. Not the kind of thing he'd be up to doing. I do feel bad for killing her dad in front of her after all that but y'know. Shit happens sometimes.

Lost my mind learning about the dark ritual with Morrigan tbh, was not expecting that even tho I should have knowing her lol. Emyr did do it with her, he was never gonna ask anyone else to do so and after all the hard work he'd rather not die if he can avoid it tbh! (I do wish the game gave you an option to yknow discuss it with your romance partner if they aren't Morrigan but alas that's what personal canon is for.) I didn't bring her along for the final fight tho after all that (prioritized the combat group I knew wouldnt die the entire way for me lol) and she was Not happy with Emyr. I'm so sorry girl I promise we'll make it up to you later.

Not related to choices, but I Did get a hilarious bug in the endgame of getting Alistair's romance bark whenever I switched to him in combat and it had me fuckin laughing cause I was like "did something happen while I wasn't watching that you want to tell me??"

Overall, Origins is going right besides FFXIV for one of the best games I've ever played, and I do not ever give that rating lightly considering how much XIV also means to me. Definitely one I'll be replaying in the future and will never stop thinking about ~

killing loghain with your own (proverbial) bare hands is a TIME HONOURED TRADITION!! i am personally a loghain fan but yeah *looks at the alienage* he did do that, it's true.

hardening in origins works really different. with leliana its pretty obvious when and how you do it, but for alistair it's a LOT subtler so i don't blame you for not being able to do it your first try. ftr, you CAN put an unhardened alistair on the throne (i do it with ren for character reasons), he's just a lot more reluctant and certain options aren't available.

ah the dark ritual. a cause for much controversy and one of my personal favourite plot points. the whole "man i wish we could talk about this with our LI" thing is something i've explored in fic/hc before because it is such a MAJOR oversight, but you know. the limitations of games.

alistair's big stupid crush on his bff continues to be real in my brain always, and now the game bugs are agreeing with me. amen.

i'm so glad you liked it!! origins is one of those games, in my experience, where you either fall right off it immediately or it alters your brain chemistry so thoroughly that you won't ever be the same. now onto awakenings, the ACTUAL best part of origins.

This is CFC Eva.

We've been assigned corpse retrieval. One of the least desirable missions, any of us would've preferred latrine duty. You normally go from waypoint to waypoint clearing the icicles left over from skirmishes, but we only have a single waypoint this time. Something big happened there, at least company or regiment level.

I wonder what happened, the Zealots have been known to conduct viciously efficient ambushes, or maybe the ice collapsed under them... either way it didn't mean anything good. Not that corpse retrieval ever meant anything good.

For those that come after, take note of the following preparation notes. Everyone has their preferences, these are my main ones.

1) Replace your standard issue EG-14x gloves with the older EG-06x model. They're thinner and allow for greater mobility and dexterity. Your hands will get cold quicker and if you aren't careful you'll probably get frostbite, but just be smart and you'll be fine. In the tunnels where you're just scraping away at ice you're probably fine with the thicker gloves, where combat is mostly close quarters but on the surface you'll need the dexterity to properly handle your firearm. The 04x and 05x models are also fine to use.

2) Have an emergency bag in both your thigh pockets. I'm sure you already bring a spare pair of boots or gloves, right? If I had a dollar for every time I've seen someone rip their boot or gloves open, and then had their appendages freeze as they rummage through their pack to find their E-bag, well, I wouldnt be on Europa. Your E-bag goes over your hand or foot to preserve heat as you get your spare gear. Don't leave it in your backpack or god forbid on the vehicle. Trust me, you're not going to want to be known as the person that tore their boot and lost a foot, and had to spend the whole mission in the med vehicle.

3) Stick with your team. This should be obvious but I feel a need to advise you that whatever you see out there is a lie. Do not believe them. Stick with your team.

right now shes feeling and looking okay though. she got some anti-inflammatory shots on monday to help with her teefies, cuz her gums had been hurting (probably its cuz her immune system aint doing so hot rn), and it really helped. she ate a LOT yesterday and seemed really content about it. full tummy gaia :) the problem with her and her teeth is that it's kind of a recurring issue, once again probably stemming from her immune system getting kinda overwhelmed, and it makes it hard for her to eat her kibble (even if the bikkies are small, and soaking them isn't an option because she will NOT touch soggy bikkies even if she's very hungry). while id love to just switch her to wet food full time, that makes her poops very soft (very bad news for her and her funny furry pantaloons) and i... dont have the budget for it... i wouldnt give her and amity anything with a vague ingredients list and without stellar reviews, and high quality wet food in the "full meals every day" quantity is just not something i can afford. so she gets a nice spoonful of her favorite wet food (or canned tuna! she loooooves tuna) after taking her meds and thats it. i love that since its a reward for swallowing her pills, and amity gets the wet food too, amity always stands close and bonks gaia beforehand, like she's encouraging her and saying good luck... amity has been very nice to gaia in general lately. i mean she's still a bit of a nuisance to her, just because their personalities clash a little, but shes been trying hard to be very gentle. i loooooove amity's new habit of kissing gaia's paws. it's so sweet and adorable... thats right amity, your big sister is very fancy and chic, with dainty pawsies that need to be kissed!

she's also been very playful, which is good. she's got energy! and a new favorite toy, once again its part of a larger toy amity customized for herself (ripped parts off of) and it's this soft fuzzy orb thing. she's also been a little whiny, but i'm pretty sure that's just her complaining about the heat, it's not uncommon for her in summertime. she feels better when the fan is pointing at her. oh and she hates the lawnmowers outside... i dont wake up from the noises i wake up from her yelling at the noises ajdhfbxkdj. shes so annoyed.

I can’t see Lupin ever settling down for long enough to ever actively parent a kid. Of course, his legacy is important to him, as it has been to his father and grandfather, but he’s never been one to do things by-the-book.

Goemon, I thjnk, would be more inclined to live a slower, easier life. He knows he can’t pretend to be young forever, even if that doesn’t necessarily mean having kids.

Lupin is great with kids from a merely entertainment-centric standpoint. He’s animated and wacky and constantly in-motion; and most kids love that! His natural charm makes him a wonderful candidate for children’s birthday parties, but not so much for babysitting. He is, of course, level-headed enough to safeguard a child. He cannot, however, be trusted not to let them get away with murder.

In fact, he… actually actively encourages bad behaviour. In his experience, breaking rules is great, and it’s exactly what he did as a kid. And who wouldn’t want to turn out like him?

On second thought, maybe don’t leave your kids around him at all. Just to be safe.

When it comes to kids of his own, Lupin is pretty indifferent. He loves the idea of having someone to carry his family name into the future, but he knows he could never be a reliable father figure. He recognises first-hand how messed up it is when your dad is some daredevil big-name thief, and he knows that he couldn’t possibly give up his lifestyle for long enough to break that cycle.

Over time, maybe he starts to recognise that there’s potential for an adopted heir of some kind further down the line? I can see him taking an older kid under his wing and teaching them the tricks of the trade, and I think that would be a much better fit for him and his nature and the level of responsibility he can reliably be trusted with. We know that he’s more than comfortable sharing his life with his found family, and I think having an heir who isn’t necessarily a blood descendent wouldn’t be any kind of issue for him.

The Lupin name itself is important to him, however, and he’d make a huge deal of passing it down to someone else. You don’t get to wear the Lupin name and not live up to the legend. He’ll make it his mission to haunt you otherwise.

In short: they’ll have to be one badass kid.

Goemon isn’t planning on settling down any time soon, either. Though he toys with the idea, he knows that he isn’t satisfied with his own abilities yet. Training is rigorous and the hours he spends away are long. He can’t in good conscience have a child when he’s so busy bettering himself.

With that said, he is well aware of the slow passage of time. He recognises that they’re all going to get old one day, and when he can no longer work, he will need other things to keep him busy and fulfilled. While he has no active interest in children, he doesn’t totally write off the idea. It’s just… there, in the back of his mind. A situational ‘maybe’, if you will.

After all, Goemon… struggles, shall we say, with children. He finds it a little grating to constantly have to explain himself and the world around him, especially in simple terms. While he’s kind and generous in his own way, it’s clear that the distance he keeps socially might not always gel with raising a kid; especially when it comes to teaching societal norms and expectations.

To Goemon, in opposition to Lupin, his name is less about passing it on and much more about making sure that he himself does it justice. He is going to be the best he can be, because that’s what his name implies. The weight of his family’s history is on his shoulders: THAT is what’s important to him.

With that said, I think out of the two of them, Goemon is most likely to have children of his own. While Lupin may have a protégée, Goemon would likely take a much more active role in parenting a potential child. I think he’d secretly enjoy all of the baby babbles and firsts he’d get to experience. As long as he had a helping hand, so he could slip away for a break every now and then.

The secret third answer to this prompt is Zenigata, by the way. Again, not the most… devoted or present father, that’s for sure, but certainly the best father figure out of the whole gang. Probably the most likely to have children, too, considering he’s been there, done that, left to get the milk.

also funny law story i just remembered. sometimes i sell my art at gay art markets. and one time. at a halloween themed one. there was . this random law cosplayer. which yea its halloween thats a costume but for future reference i want to be clear this was like the only anime cosplay. everyone else was like cartoons or monsters or fairies or cats or some shit. well the law cosplayer is set up right across from me and i had JUST started my one piece hyperfixation so i was Extra Crazy abt it and i was literally flipping out so nervous but excited so i dragged myself over and was like “omg…hi…i love ur law cosplay….i just got into op and i havent met him yet but i see him everywhere…” and they were super nice!! but then. later. i go visit my friend’s booth. and . the ONLY other anime cosplay at the entire event…WAS A SECOND TRAFALGAR LAW. STANDING AT MY FRIEND’S BOOTH. I WAS LIKE ??? anyway i pointed them towards each other after fangirling for a hot moment and they took a pic together. it was very fun

i wouldnt day sofia coppola is overrated, tbough I do think part of her popularity is a byproduct of being a nepo baby. I think shes a good director, she really centers the feminist gaze and her women characters tend to be layered and morally complex. I did like the virgin suicides and marie antoinette. Shes very sensitive to the way she portrays adolesence on screen, and I she attempts and at times successfully deconstructs patriarchy and reveals it inequtable power dynamics.

Though for me her biggest problem is her inability to tackle race in any meaningful way, in lost in translation she heavily relies on sterotypes to perpetuate the otherness of the asian poc in that film. In beguiled she erases the history of slavery in order to a portray a version of southern gothic that is white centered. When it comes to WOC / POC she either erases them or turns them into one dimensional sterotypes thats her biggest knock ( and its a big one).

Very interesting... It seems this has also been the gripe of many for the Euphoria show as well. Some feel Sam needs some various writers who can tackle those aspects better.... Some even felt that way about M&M as well.

Look, I have no issues with white directors tackling the subject of race. I mean, Steven Spielberg directed "The Color Purple" for goodness sakes.

But if you're going to tackle an area that you're NOT that familiar with, then you should get some writers or seek input from others in that community so that your work can reflect those communities and groups more accurately onscreen.

For example, I could tell with the series "Little Fires Everywhere" that they DEFINITELY had some black women who were brought in to help write some of those episodes, even though the author of the book is actually Asian. There were just so many things that you could just FEEL were written by black women, and our input was definitely taken into consideration, and it reflects that onscreen in many various episodes. It was a very well-done series imo!
