Not too sure how strange of an ask this is, but have any ideas on how to make a winged being with "legwings" similar to sharovipteryx, but is capable of flight? Thank you in advance!

in the process of looking up images to remind myself what a sharovipteryx is and how it moves, i found this tumblr post redesigning the pokemon Latios and Latias as a pair of sharovipteryx and it's amazing, I love this, shoutout to @alphynix

anyway. so what you're asking is how to make a creature with those back-leg membrane wings but in a way that allows for powered flight instead of just gliding? powered flight requires some method of flapping, so as long as the muscles and joints are able to move that way, it should work out. for reference, here's an image of the sharovipteryx (artist: Dmitry Bognadov)

their shape reminds me of a paper airplane.

hmmmm let's start by talking about how arm wings flap for powered flight, comparing their shape to these leg wings.

going for the bat wing because they've also got a membrane. when bats fly, a lot of the motion is in the elbow (excluding the fingers for the sake of comparison here). each flap brings the wing to a full horizontal spread, and then it's drawn closer to the body and lifted at the elbow to bring it back upwards, more or less. not every flap folds all the way in! once a bat is in the air, it can usually flap in smaller motions to maintain its lift. this also depends on wing shape and size, as smaller wings require more frequent and deeper flapping while bigger wings are typically better for soaring and require less and more shallow flapping after takeoff.

the back leg wing is easy enough to spread out and flap downward, but i think the struggle comes from bending the knee for an upstroke. in this case, I believe a more flexible hip joint would allow for a better upstroke. or it would have to move more forward and then spread out. as a result, it may not have the same range of big flaps as a bat or bird, and i think it might resemble the way frogs kick their legs when they swim.

I do not dabble in animation very often and trying to do foreshortening on flapping wings is hard, so forgive the quality haha. but I couldn't figure out how else to illustrate what I was thinking of for the movement on the leg wings. may not be as efficient as arm wings when it comes to agile powered flight, but it would perhaps be enough to provide lift so the creature isn't just gliding.

It has been some time hasn't it? Well, I come to you to a small lesson. Today we will be learning about innate magic. You may find that your magic differs from others, even if you are in the same classes and magic group. Well, here could be an explanation as to why...

If you are born...

On a Monday:

Mondays are the tough beginnings. You are born stronger and more resilient than others. You may find that your body is more durable to your magic, and you can recover faster than others from fatigue and can be back in the battle within hours.

On a Tuesday:

Tuesdays are an insightful day to peer into the rest of the week. You are born more perceptive than others. You may find that your mind is naturally perceptive to magic. You can vaguely sense magic types from other users, but it gets a bit confusing with multiple mages in an area.

On a Wednesday:

Wednesdays are the the quietest day of the week. They are in the background and often forgotten. You are born more cloaked than others. You can blend in the background and hide your aura from others naturally. You may find yourself being more observant, seeing things that others may not whilst under the cover of secrecy.

On a Thursday:

Thursdays are the days of promise and hopefulness. They are sanguine and opportunistic. Your magic is a bit more wild than others, but it can lead to promising situations with unexpected power. Your body is more adaptive to controlling your wild magic.

On a Friday:

Fridays are the days of relief. They feel revitalizing. Your magic is naturally explosive and powerful in short bursts. Your body is more capable of storing up magic energy to release all at once in a powerful blast. It may take time to charge up, but if timed correctly it can be very useful.

On a Saturday:

Saturday are the days of tranquility. Your magic is naturally fluid and talented. You have a better grasp over your magic and can find ease with understanding other magic types. When using a magic item, your magic is more concentrated and skillful than others. You also may find that outside magic is naturally drawn to you like a beacon, good or bad.

How do tags work? I'm newish to Tumblr and I don't really get the tags. Do I need to tag everything?

hello and welcome! tags serve four major purposes:

to let other people find your content: this is only applicable if you are the creator of the post, not if you reblog it. for example: if you make a post about dean you might want to add the tags "dean winchester" and "supernatural" or even "spn" so that other people who are interested in content about dean can see the post when they're searching for content on tumblr (if you want to find content and you're using desktop, you can search tumblr.com/tagged/supernatural [or whatever it is you're looking for] and you'll be able to see original posts that people tagged as "supernatural." if you're on mobile, frog speed, my friend.) also, friendly reminder not to over-tag things. if you tag a post that is just about dean with "sam winchester" "castiel" "john winchester" etc people are more likely to block you. spam tagging is really annoying.

organization on your own blog: adding tags to your posts lets you find them on your own blog later (again, this is really only useful on desktop, not mobile) and this goes for original posts and reblogged posts. for example: you may have noticed that i tag all of my posts about dean with "dw." that's the organizational tag i use for my own blog. i also have tags that probably don't mean anything to anyone else but that help me to organize certain ~genres of posts on my blog (like "hashtag family"). if you want to search your own blog or someone else's for all of the posts you/they have in a specific tag you can do that on desktop by going to blog.tumblr.com/tagged/tag. so for example if you wanted to search my blog for the dean content you would go to queermania.tumblr.com/tagged/dw

giving other people the ability to block/filter content: this is relevant for both original posts and reblogged posts. for example: someone might have followed you for doctor who content but they are not interested in seeing supernatural content. you tagging your supernatural posts with a "supernatural" tag lets them filter or blacklist it so they don't have to see it. this is also relevant for certain types of content like nsfw, body horror, etc. you may see tags like "tw body horror" or "body horror tw" or "body horror cw" or even "body horror for ts" (that one's an old relic from a time long ago when we had to use an extension called tumblr savior to filter content). content/trigger warnings are subjective. not everybody uses them. not everybody is willing to use them. it's not uncommon to ask people (politely!) to tag for something that might be upsetting to you, with the caveat that they might say no and then it's up to you to decide if you want to continue following them or not. (for example if you asked me to tag for alcohol, i would politely decline, simply because i do not think i would realistically remember to do it and i don't want to promise something i can't deliver and risk harming you.)

commentary that doesn't need to be a part of the post: you may have noticed that a lot of us put our thoughts on any given post in the tags. this is a way to leave commentary without muddying up the post. not all thoughts need to be on the post permanently. in fact, most don't haha. sometimes if you leave commentary in the tags, someone will copy and paste or screenshot them into the body of the post because they think your thoughts deserved permanent status and that other people should see them too. we like to call this getting peer reviewed because we are nothing if not a website full of nerds.

so those are the ways we use tags on this website. you can choose not to use tags at all, use them religiously, or use them only when you want. it's really up to you. you create your own experience. however, if you do opt out of tagging anything at all, people might be less likely to interact with you because it makes it harder for them to curate their own experience. but again, it's really up to you!

Your cursed jimmy au is horrifying and i love him very much. Question tho, how much of the old jimmy is under all that still? has his mind been altered to think what he's doing is okay now, his past personality just a dream of what has been, or is the small part of him that used to be locked up and forced to watch as something else basically pilot his body? can he ever be returned to how he used to be, both in body in mind? I wonder how they'd all feel in the aftermath (cant be great lol)

Well, I did explore this very vaguely a bit in a drawing here but basically if you look closely the 'strings' / insides of him looked like a weeping/screaming face.

This is because this is more of a case of possession, where when Joel accidentally turned Jimmy into a toy, something went wrong with his consciousness and another entity/being decided to habit this, cursed thing or like, altered his mind.

But Jimmy is constantly fighting between the altered version (which is the one thinking what he's doing is right and justifiable) and what he used to be. As time went on though, the altered version took over completely and only sometimes can his past personality be seen.

(I would also like to point out this fic again by @///paris-frog about this au bc I'm still obsessed with it and they captured what I was going for perfectly <;3)

Inside, the actual Jimmy is sometimes either half conscious or not conscious at all, but when he is half conscious, he can only watch through the eyes of this, wretched thing, using his modified body as a puppet on a string. He's also in constant pain, specifically his head, lungs and limbs.

I said that his body now can repair itself using strings very easily, and he may not look nor say he's in pain, but the half conscious jimmy is very much suffering and can feel every little bit of this. It's like overwhelmed but also underwhelmed, if you got what I'm saying.

Though as for now I don't have any main idea for the ending/aftermath of this au, I don't know yet whether or not he would turn back into his old body (flesh, bones. Basically Human), but in mind he can be changed again, though probably either in a painful process or doing some mind fuckery, but if he ever did turn back again either body or mind, I would say that he would have a hard time trying to not slip and tried to regain some control over his body, mind and actions again, constantly needing something to ground him from the fact that he's no longer doing things that hurts other people, and in the worst case scenario, decided to exile himself/left (haha similarities with the codfather-), Feeling like he's not safe around anyone else, even himself.

For others though, some people prefer to still stay away because they do not trust themselves to not flinch when looking at the man, or some parties more involved in this (example: Joel) are probably banned from tumble town either for a while or forever, but some might even help too.

either way it's not gonna end very nice. Like the chance of getting an actual good ending is probably very very low

10. what inspired this character’s creation?

MINAH — I have a minah post in my drafts that's a bunch of notes about her, and this is the most important one: "the girl from station eleven (loves the theater but Oh she is a fucked up little freak)"

DAI — dai was concocted around the depths of my mdzs phase so his initial vibes were definitely colored by that. also, after playing a bunch of PCs with traditionally tragic/fucked up backstories, I wanted a guy who was honestly pretty well adjusted and chill and cool and happy with his life. our DM immediately fucked him up, of course, but I love that for him

11. if they have a pet or animal companion, how do they spend time with them? if they don’t have one, what sort of animal would they be interested in raising, if any?

MINAH — minah absolutely deserves something sleek and slinky and immensely troublesome. a ferret maybe? it has to be a little classy. something clever enough to perform and small enough to bring around with her. so yeah, maybe a little ferret or stoat or weasel. also obviously a griffon mount but that is not super her wheelhouse at the moment. (if you count the troupe animals, she's raised horses, technically. everyone's got to pitch in with the horses. you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a horse girl)

DAI — daichi's dad has a griffon mount named MC (Mr. Clouds, named by a very very young dai) and daichi fuckin loves that beastie. as close as you can imagine a pre-teen boy and a flying eagle-beaked war mount, that dai and his dad's griffon. he was also pretty fond of dobin's frog. and orum, honestly, lack of a face and all. daichi's an animal guy

12. how have they altered their body? piercings, tattoos, biohacks, or other modifications—anything. why (or why not) did they (or someone else) make those changes?

MINAH — she dyes her hair. has a couple piercings that she was given by other members of the troop. has a tattoo from the troupe as well (a bunch, actually, or a big one), but it's not somewhere visible.

DAI — I think daichi's ears may be pierced. if they are, it happened a long time ago, when he was still a kid, and it was a drow thing. I don't know if that's canon in our setting, but he wouldn't have made the decision to pierce his own ears at any point. he has no other piercings, tattoos, or body modifications—just a couple scars.

13. what are some motifs you associate with them? did you intentionally bring in those motifs, or did it happen over time?

MINAH — minah's a little too new for motifs at the moment, but check back in after a few more sessions. shadows, probably (ha. haha.) [update: I think she should get into tragicomedy masks]

DAI — the sun, shields. light and wings. drowning. some of these were predetermined (the sun, light, wings) and some were not (shields for the paladin oath, drowning for. well. I mean, if I had a nickel)

14. what keeps them up at night?

MINAH — if I listed it out we'd be here all night ourselves. mostly the past, and the future, and whatever's dogging her. she's a bit of a one-eye-open sort tbh

DAI — the fear that this doesn't end. the fear that it does. the afterwards. (at least he doesn't have to think about the afterwards for now)

15. is there something that never fails to make them laugh?

MINAH — there are a few comedy routines that always get her, no matter what. she's more of a wry, cynical sort, though. irony'll get her every time.

DAI — tbh I think he's too picky to have something that always makes him laugh. maybe one of his dad's jokes.

Random Spriggan 12 headcanons:

- Bloodman was the first demon Zeref created and has been around for everything.

- Neinhart’s parents died when he was young. He was very distressed, and that’s why he has such a strong connection with the dead.

- The scar across God Serena’s face is because of all of the magic in his body. Each lacrima added made his body split apart more, so he’s covered in many more scars.

- Wall is the last of his kind. The rest of the Machias were a peaceful race, and were taken advantage of by humans and died out. Wall developed himself to have no weaknesses because he didn’t want to seem weak like the rest of his people.

- August was originally a part of early Fairy Tail and trained with Precht. His interest in dark magic lead him to join Zeref. Also, he’s not Zeref’s son because that’s weird.

- Bloodman and Irene became very fast friends. They bonded over being stuck with trash men, and Bloodman taught Irene to embrace her dragon side when she felt self conscious.

Note: This is a three-part fic for my friend @s-talking and their OC, Envy. It was meant for the summer, but I fell behind on it. I hope you enjoy my work!

There is something amiss at Sunset Point. The beautiful forest in Mississippi is home to Camp Sunny Smiles where children spend their days making crafts, swimming, hiking, and singing songs around the campfire. However, Sunset Point has its own dark secrets, a place where restless souls meet their end at the hands of one of Mississippi’s notorious serial killers.  Though that ugly truth remains hidden beneath the brush and blood red poppies.

The very flowers that come from the Little Killer’s victims.

However, authorities assured everyone Sunset Point is safe. The Little Killer has not been spotted near the camp. The past week has been fun-filled adventures for the little campers under the guidance of counselors. Nothing could go wrong!

Absolutely nothing!

At least…Until to this very night.

Tonight, the full moon illuminates the dense wilderness surrounding Camp Sunny Smiles. All the children were accounted for and sound asleep, safe and sound in their cabins. However, some of the counselors use this as an opportunity to be up to no good.

Hushed whispers between a couple no older than nineteen join the rustling of the leaves. The crickets’ serenade and frogs’ singing mask the quiet giggles breaking up the whispers.

“Tim, are you sure about this?” The female counselor whispers but she continues to trek through the leaves, hand in hand with her boyfriend.

“Why not? The kids are asleep, and the director won’t know anything!”

“I know but what about Harmony? You know what she’ll do if she finds us here.”

“Darla, shush!” Tim hushes her, “Harmony isn’t patrolling the campgrounds right now. I saw her going into her cabin. It looked like she was distracted since she got that letter yesterday. Still didn’t tell me whom it’s from.” Tim adds with a shrug. “Do you think it’s a love letter from Frank? He’s obsessed with her.” “Haha! He doesn’t have a chance with her! Harmony told him a million times she had a boyfriend back home. Could be that guy, you know? Frank was all mopey since then.” Tim dismisses that bit of gossip with a wave of his hand. “Oh, yeah. He sounds like a creep, honestly, but Harmony won’t shut up about him. I told her to give Franky a chance.” Darla answers, “He can be forward sometimes, but he’s a great guy!” She adds, that her attempts to set the other two counselors up always failed. “I would drop that. She seems to be in love with her guy back home. Anyway, she’s distracted so this is our chance!” He grins from ear to ear as he and Darla make their way out of the brush for their destination.

“Well, okay. If you’re sure…but what about the Little Killer?” Darla asks, “What if he’s out there? I really don’t want to cross paths with him!” She shudders with dread, her blue eyes shut tight. “Aw, come on! He ain’t here! Police looked around hundreds of times. This area is safe! Plus, I’m here to protect you, babe!”  Tim grins once more and his muscular chest puffed out. Darla laughs as she and the other counselor enter a secluded place. The small clearing is surrounded by towering trees where they see the brilliant stars above them.  Darla gasps to find a small fire pit set up with a blue tartan blanket spread over the grass nearby.  A string of fairy lights cast a warm glow over the cozy scene which is complete with a few pillows and a picnic basket.

“Oh, Tim! You shouldn’t have!” She squeals with delight. “Oh, but I did!” The male counselor takes her hand and leads her to the scene. “I figured we deserve a romantic evening, y’know?”

It seems almost too good to be true! Tim’s plan fell into place with nothing going wrong. But the counselors have no idea that it can change at any time.

They are unaware of the unfolding terror that will come their way.

hello internet! i'm posting in the hopes that someone likes these little figurines i've made here (two of the mushrooms were actually made with the intention of being incense holders!), as i'd like to continue creating these lovely little things and sell them in order to begin saving for top surgery!

i'm a 20 y/o afab nonbinary person currently work a full-time job but it's not enough pay to get me even close to making enough for top surgery. i've been wanting to create a little side-shop for ages anyway, and now that i'm really looking to move forward with top surgery, i decided now was better than ever to do so :) sell cute little frogs and mushrooms (and whatever else!) since it's fun to make them, will brighten someone else's life, and will help me save for top surgery!!!

my job is extremely physically taxing, and on top of a lot of joint and body pain just in general, binding every single day for 8+ hours is taking a huge toll on me. i can't go outside without binding without feeling... extremely Not Good, to put it lightly. so, not binding isn't an option for me-but i can't keep destroying my body like this. i'm in so much pain every single day, and my job is extremely rough on my body-it takes me hours to even somewhat recuperate after getting home.

so, haha, i'm looking to get top surgery as soon as i can, because if i don't have to bind anymore, i'm certain it will help lessen the pain i deal with every day! i've been wanting top surgery ever since i was 12/13 years old, and now that i'm 20 and i'm out of school and i'm facing a lifetime of working... i'd really like to get top surgery asap so that i can live my life to the fullest. getting top surgery will be the cherry on top to making my quality of life that much better.

Frog Vibes is all set!

Frog Vibes is made of custom dyed minky, stiff felt and some small strands of embroidery floss. They sit at about 10 inches from to top of the head to the rump-- not including the ears. The details on this plush are machine embroidered and appliqued. None of the accessories are removable.

I don’t know why I saved two intense projects for last. 🤔

Though looking back, this sweetheart wasn’t as intense as I anticipated.

Starting off-- patterning was.... interesting. I like how the pattern looks, but I think I could have done it a bit more streamlined-- with some even softer curves. I had an idea of a dome shape originally, but i couldn’t seem to wrap my head around it. I stuck with just using a gusseted head pattern and dealt with aligning the applique.

All the colors on this plush were custom dyed; minus the striped fabric for the gloves and the black fabric used for the ears. I think the outer part of the eye may have also not been dyed since I used some scrap fabric in my dyed fabric bin.

I made a HUGE mistake of not dyeing enough of the darker base body color. In the end, I had a little piece left that was no more than 2 inches on each side. ^^; I had to use up as many as my scraps up to make ends meet-- but it did work out. :) 

Appliqueing took TONS of planning out to avoid getting multiple layers of fabric overlapping, but it also worked out in the end!

Another thing that took a while too was the lettering on the sleeves. My embroidery program kept simplifying the design I traced out, and ultimately decided to make every letter by hand (on the program). Definitely was worth the time taken to make it. ^u ^

The line detailing on cuffs and hems of the hoodie were made on my sewing machine; in retrospect, I think it would have been tidier on my embroidery machine.

The final details on the head, feathers and ears, ended up needing to be redyed for a proper and slightly closer color match. The original ear files also just had a fill stitch instead of applique that did not... look good at all, haha.

But I think thats about it! I a bit scatterbrained since this is being posted first thing in the morning, but Frog Vibes was a joy to work with!

okay. theory: a lot of the Betweenlands was always Like That in some capacity, and what we're seeing is a case of several different species going "i'm gonna Rip Power From Unholy Forces" and those unholy forces going "haha absolutely the fuck not." timeline goes a little something like this

first generation: wisps, spirit trees, and Them. possibly responsible for the initial construction of the cragrock towers. cause of fall unknown; i'd guess that the primordial malevolence is probably part of this generation. they may have never left.

second generation: what became swamp hags, peat mummies, and tar beasts. likely the source of some of the more desolated ruins. tech-wise, i think they might've been doing something with tar and/or spawner crystals? cause of fall unknown, but possibly related to the first generation somehow and DEFINITELY involved fucked-up body horror.

third generation: if i had to take a wild guess, i'd say this is where pyrads and salamanders came from. not really a civilization in and of itself, but bridged the gap; i think this would be around when octine was introduced. survivors from the second generation probably built the idol heads during this time period? (EDIT: i think they may also have pioneered some of the fishing stuff, since they’re already associated with water)

fourth generation: what became the crypt crawlers (and possibly stalkers). mostly belowgrounds dwellers, meaning they're probably the ones who build the sludgeon complexes and some other underground ruins. might've been studying infusion, judging by some of the shelves you can find in the sludgeon catacombs. cause of fall was probably something to do with the pit of decay; they attempted to do something to stop it but were massively unsuccessful.

fifth generation: this is where the prime wight comes from! built the wight fortresses studied animation and life crystals. made a deal with something for knowledge (probably the primordial malevolence) and accidentally blasted themselves clear of all rational thought in the process, becoming Asshole Ghosts. a few survivors may have made it out to the overworld, creating the ritual circles.

sixth generation: greeblings. they appear to be just fuckin vibing, and good for them. they might have designed some of the specialty weapons, though?

and then assorted notes on other things:

the frogs, dragonflies, geckos, and fireflies were also always there. same with the chiromaws, lurkers, and anglerfish -- chiromaw taming would be either third generation or greebling tech.

termites and other bugs were also always around but probably got nasty as a result of the second generation.

the barrishee might have been the result of some fourth/fifth generation overlap; also, giant weedwood trees probably started growing between the fourth and fifth generation, attracting pyrads in greater numbers.

the fifth generation probably created root sprites and sporelings as pets, but ended up inadvertently unleashing them onto the world when they all kind of Died.

the simulacra were probably made by the first civilization, or at least are associated with them.

shallowbreaths could come from pretty much any generation, though due to similarity in “tech” i’d lean towards either the first or fourth generations? the fall of the fifth generation likely made them more aggressive, though.

EDIT: there’s more fish now! i’d say anadia and the other new forms of water life are recently recovered species that were always around, with the near-extinction event probably having happened around the fourth or fifth generation.

i’ve also got a far less thought-out theory that the betweenlands may be prone to magical earthquakes and/or storms that tend to hit the surface heavier than the underground, but there's hardly any basis for that

Hello there! I was wondering if you have any BoomerNA hc’s for the Dsmp? I’ve heard a good few hc’s that he’s kinda like dead, due to the fact he’s in Hannah’s graveyard I think. So I was wondering if you had any ideas what BoomerNA’s Limbo would be like as well? And maybe even how and why he died (hopefully a semi angsty rather than a simple silly reason tho lmao) Apologies if my English isn’t that good haha, ty for taking ur time to read this I rlly appreciate it! ^^

ooh, dsmp!Boomer my beloved. I’ve written a couple quick posts before musing on the idea of him as a ghost while his friends are trying to live their lives. Headcanon time!

Boomer's limbo? Boomer is loud, he yells, he makes jokes and he loves to make his friends laugh. He's a frog hybrid, yes, but even though they're humans and other types of hybrids they feel like family to him. He doesn't like saying it quietly, because then they might pay too much attention. When he says he loves them he'll say it loudly, so they laugh at the time but remember it later.

They remember how much he loved them, after he's silent.

That's what stands out in their memories: Sam and Ant and Hannah and Punz and Sapnap--although Sapnap was so young when he last saw Boomer that he barely remembers the white-haired boy. They remember how much he loved them and how he called them names and made jokes and begged for their attention and for them to play games with him or go swimming. They remember a kid who was like a brother to them.

Boomer and his ghost are, regrettably, in different places.

Frogs can't breathe underwater. They can hold their breath for a very long time, but eternity is even longer than that. In his afterlife he's underwater, and he can see people above him. Silhouettes, moving shapes that look like his friends. When he speaks to them the water muffles his voice and drowns his words to silence.

He never runs out of air, no matter how much he uses screaming for them to hear him. Nowadays he doesn't scream anymore, he just talks. He asks if they remember him, he talks about the times that stand out in his memory. He talks about how Punz taught him to swordfight, how Hannah planted her roses on the banks of his pond, how Sam cooked pies for them all.

And, sometimes, when the air in his lungs seems just on the verge of disappearing and despite already being dead, he panics at the thought of suffocation and he remembers his death.

It was because he bullied Red into taking him fishing.

Red wouldn't have agreed if he hadn't pulled the do it for your boyfriend card. Sometimes Boomer thinks about how, if Red hadn't loved Antfrost enough to do some small thing just to make him happy, he wouldn't have been dragged away from him forever. Sometimes Boomer thinks about how it's his fault.

They were trapped under the boat when it sank. Boomer may be a frog hybrid, but it didn't make him strong enough to lift the thing off them. He was too panicked to think and the air trapped under the boat was running out rapidly and his lungs were still full, he wasn't dead yet when Red ran out of air.

Frogs can hold their breath for hours. He lay trapped under the wood with the body of a friend next to him for hours, and he prayed that someone would come. He didn't work up the courage to close Red's eyes for at least an hour, because as long as those green eyes were still staring at him he could pretend that Red was just quiet, just silent for once, and not...not gone.

He couldn't pretend for long, and soon his air was running out.

And there, trapped at the bottom of the sea under unforgiving waves, Boomer NA drowned beside a man already dead.

Yu-Mi’s Cells Episode 4 Recap: Dates, First Kiss and Meeting Lustasaurus

Episode 4 of Yumi’s Cells begins with Gu-Woong arriving with his umbrella. Then the lights are back on in Cell Land and brought in the sweets too (There's other sweet things that adds to Cell Land and not literally), bringing Yu-Mi to look at Gu-Woong in a much more positive light. He was curious about why she didn't reply, so he showed up to check on her. Woong finds out about her broken phone and ended up with a sigh of relief realizing she wasn't ignoring him at all. He shouldn't jump into conclusions so quickly! He looked so happy and told her he thought he got dumped, which led Yu-Mi smiling. In Cell Land, it's the first time in years since it snowed. Woong's Cell showed up on Yu-Mi's Cell land as his Gatekeeper.

In Cell Land, one of Gu-Woong’s Cells shows up to check out the village. However, the cells there refuse to allow it and punch him away. There’s more pressing concerns though and as Yu-Mi passes out while waiting at the bus stop and runs a fever. Woong checks up on her. In Woong's Cell Land a alarm bells as a emergency, the cells activate the sprint mode and let Woong carry her to the nearest hospital. The Cells announced the mission as cleared and Woong ends up acting conceited. While she's still asleep, Woong received a call from Louis who is curious where he is and he mentioned that he's in the hospital with Yu-Mi. Louis is worried how he went to the hospital, Woong said that he carried her and said that Yu-Mi's light. Sae-Yi tells him it's the wrong idea while Woong doesn't approve because this is what his algorithim tells him to do then hungs up.

Woong then even buys her new clothes with a frog on the front. Yu-Mi eventually wakes up realizing that she's in the hospital and sees what Woong has done for her. Yu-Mi checks out the clothes Woong bought for her and its a one-piece. Then a frog show up in Yu-Mi’s Cell Land and helps save all the different cells, cleaning up the village that has been contaminated with stress and making sure Hysterius won't come back by putting up a fence. The Frog even saved Love and True Feelings too who were stranded in the deserted island. The cells were thankful and the frog went in because of Yu-Mi's heart. Only, it turns out the frog is just an outfit for Woong’s love cell. What a sneak! What a metaphor too. Woong sneaked into Yu-Mi's heart without her realizing it. Woong came back to the hospital to check on her. She even told him that she likes the clothes he picked and that it reminded of the festival. Yu-Mi in return as being grateful invited him for a second date! Woong is worried about the restaurants closing asking about the time and Yu-Mi ended up using the same time joke! Haha. Yu-Mi started using his jokes adding that she's a "gentleman".

The pair have a wonderful date and Yu-Mi thanked him for everything. Yu-Mi even told him to send her a text though Woong tells her it takes a while to get home and reminded her of her phone. Yu-Mi tells him that she has a laptop so they can contact each other through that. After that moment, The Dream Theatre came to a close. Then the Bulletin Board Cell shows up late at night to help clear up Yu-Mi’s cluttered mind as a way to sort one’s mind out at the end of the day, especially her daily life. The comments that Yu-Mi should remember are the ones that are moved up, especially when it comes to Woong. I really love this idea of Cell Land's Bulletin Board it's like our own board with post-it notes for reminders. After this, Woong and Yu-Mi started chatting. Woong asked her if he can call her tomorrow and bids her goodnight for real. Woong and Yu-Mi ended up smiling, especially Yu-Mi who seems to be in lalaland. The top reminder of the Bulletin Board is the 2nd date for tomorrow as a reminder by Love Cell. With Woong's Bulletin Board all he thinks about is Yu-Mi and the Cell is annoyed because he wanted to sleep, hihi.

Woong heads back to check on Sae-Yi, who happens to be tipsy checking out Yu-Mi's social media saying to herself that she's his type. Sae-Yi starts talking about their old times and the Cells know that she usually has a ulterior motive whenever she does. While she was acting way off than usual, Woong's Cell Land detected the danger ended up activating his defense mode, which then is interpreted as a bear. As a bear he cant pick up clues or hints, making him look dumb. The defense mode switched off and Woong clearlyh knows that Sae-Yi likes him. Sae-Yi went on her second attack as she wanted to sit beside him, but they ended up switching seats. A third attack came in and it's about her crush. Thankfully Louis awakens just in time, saving them from awkwardness. Her physical touch attack begins and the Cells are troubled. Good thing the taxi arrived. The mission is officially cleared and the bear ears are gone. Sae-Yi has her own bulletin board, she wants Woong to be her husband if ever she gets married. You wish.

Saturday rolls in and Fashion Cell wakes up Cell Land, desperate to try and wake Yu-Mi up so they can go shopping even to the point on praying to the Shopping Spree Deity, who in turn encourages Fashion to sing. This works to wake up Yu-Mi, who goes shopping.

Lust Cell makes an entrance and tells Yu-Mi to to unbutton her dress by a few buttons. Well, Yu-Mi ends up spilling down her dress, ruining everything. I had a feeling. Woong sees her and is worried then invites her to his house.

With Lust Cell being kept under control (just about) by the other Cells, Lust Cell ended up being freed which made Yu-Mi imagine Woong in the shower. This is just too awkward, hard to watch and yet sexy. Hahaha. The actor has a good body i give him that. Yu-Mi ended up snapping, Lust Cell mentions how big his well thing is. I cracked up so loud at this part! I cannot. Woong's Cell Land under attack by Lustasaurus who stomps around the ground breathing fire. Another metaphor after seeing her wearing his clothes. Lust Cell is also trying to calm down Lustasaurus who Woong at the same time trying to calm himself down.

Yu-Mi tries to stop Woong from using fabric softener as a accident may happen then the two look at each other longingly. Unfortunately, Woong’s phone rings, which stopped their moment. It’s a work emergency and he has to go.  Their date is over and Woong promises to message her.

He gets the taxi home. Yu-Mi decides to get the bus. Woong  heads over and returns her dress back. There's a moment when he realizes that Yu-Mi wants to kiss him. Woong then holds her hand to pull her close, holding the crook of her back then finally ends up kissing her in a passionate way! Holy crap what directing to that kiss buildup.

Woong so far is a gentleman and romantic too. Who wouldn't fall for him too?

danny phantom episode 4-7 Thoughts: (under a readmore because, these got kinda long!)

-the outfit danny had to buy for dash's party. CLASSIC 2000S i cannot stop laughing. And also showing up to the party and everyone is dressed like the trio is hilarious. and further proof that everyone looks good dressed goth.

-dash has a closet full of cute lil bear plushies?? LOVE that. adorable. also his response to danny trashing his room fighting a ghost was SO valid if somone BROKE MY BED IN HALF ID BE PISSED TOO.

-technus being like 'oh smart, u should be a tutor!' then later being like 'forget tutor, be a teacher!' :) supportive king <3 I also really like his upgraded suit/design. AND SPOCK CAMEO??? HELLO??

-the music in this show is super. its so funky. I looked it up and the guy who does it, guy moon (awesome name) also did music for other cartoons like fairly odd parents, barnyard, chalkzone, billy & mandy, AND some actual movies like FIGHT CLUB??? the whiplash I got from reading that)

-sam being rich explains a lot about her, actually.

-I know the moral of the episode was supposed to be 'dont ditch your friends for popular people/spend a lot of money on clothes that arent You to Fit In'. but tbh. it wouldve been easy for danny to have been like 'well, okay, ill come but only if my friends can!' but I get. that hes 14. so. not a lot to say there.

-BOX GHOST IS BACK!!!!! also, danny sitting up and wearing the dress/wig/makeup. umm thats how I dress everyday LMFAO. unironically me. (hate the jokes that boil down to 'haha funney man in dress' tho. but this is a look)

-jazz being protective of her brother once again being like NOOO YOU GUYS BETTER NOT STAKE OUT HIS (actually haunted) LOCKER!! shes aware of how people perceive him and she wants to help :( which is also probably why she told dash to invite him to that party even tho she had no interest in going!! she wants to help him out :(

-gotta say im with tucker on the whole 'should danny use his powers to get back at bullies' debate. 100% yes. let him teach kids to fight back. making dash throw his food at paulina out of the blue? no. but when hes actually about to pick on someone? yeah! for self defense? YEAH! if dash and his friends just threw food at him, I think rather than. idk doing sneaky shit with frogs he couldve just threw it back and not pulled punches if they tried to fight. I kNOOWWW its a kids show so they are like 'if u fight back ur just as bad!! violence bad!!' but. theyre HIS POWERS. WHO CARES.

-like my only gripe is that dash really isnt LEARNING ANYTHING WHEN DANNY GETS BACK AT HIM IN THE MOST PETTY INDIRECT WAYS. whatever they had to add a bully psa episode I guess. I hate it and I hate the way cartoons usually handle it because these methods simply Do Not Work. 'aND YouRE USinG YOur poWErs FOR EVill???!' this is Not Evil. even when poindexter takes dannys body, theyre only being 'nice' bc hes stealing soda for them!! bitches deserve what they get (nothing too brutal bc theyre high schoolers but damn, if they pick on danny he doesnt need to be the 'bigger person' he needs to start biting people)

-I LOOOVE the trope of 'wishes gone wrong'. not crazy about the stereotypical genie, or the use of the dreamcatcher looking design. (also, I KNOW theyre scientists but the way theyre handling a cold...are the fentons ANTIVAX)

DUDE. when I was 14...shit I couldn't be out that late, I had to be back at like, 8 at the latest, and my parents had to know exactly where and who I was going with, AND i had to call/text them regularly...is this a case of my parents being overbearing, or the fentons sucking??? the only time i could EVER be out that late was if I was at an overnight sleepover or smth...

-mr. fenton knew vlad was controlling him, but a few episodes ago he had no clue danny was doing the same thing...is it something about how malicious the ghost is?? he just seemed to think his memory had gaps the first time, this time he was INSTANTLY LIKE 'GHOST'. then again in this ep when danny did it again he was just slightly confused but not immediately freaking out like he did with vlad possessing him!!

-sorta unrelated, but it just occurred to me in one of these eps they go to casper HIGH not casper middle school??? theyre 14?? dont highschools usually do ages 15-18? (I didnt go to hs so I might be wrong, if I am ignore this...) freshmen are usually 14-15, could just be a case of them not turning 15 yet but they will sometime in the school year (I say they because tucker said he was 14 too)? I know the show has 3 seasons, so by the end of it will they be older? thatd be neat but usually cartoon characters stay the same age...I love shows where you can see the characters age and grow up, though...three seasons seems like a long time to spend on like, 1 year...
