Tbh the Super Sad cards in prosekai are kinda funny if you think about a random streamer being sponsored to play this game who has no idea whats going on who's just pulling for fun like

WOAH JFC IS SHE OKAY WHATS GOING ON HERE! A THOUSAND BURNING SCREAMS FILL MY MIND--oh yippee another 2* :D yaaaayyy
#project sekai#I look at this card and i just hear the balloon boy HELLO echoing from it#i love you mafuyu but it is funny to laugh at you also#every sad card in proseka is funny if you think about it in context of a gacha like HUH WHATS GOING ON???#IS SHE FUCKING OKAY WHY IS SHE CRYING???? MIKU GAME HELLO???? I THOUGHT THEY SUNG AND DANCED????#waiter fetch me the 'i understand what a story means i also just like to make jokes sometimes' post

Heya! 2nd req I have made for this blog for now:'D Can I request for all Niigo members(separate) x reader; Where the reader is basically a huge fan of Niigo though is in denial that they're too much of a downbad fan for their songs. But one day, they catch the reader screaming every lyrics of their song in their room(you can pick whichever song of your choice!) and gets embarrassed to find out that the specific character was actually watching and the reader tries to act as if nothing happened. It is also your choice if the reader is actually good at singing or if they're LITERALLY screaming the lyrics wahaha
Diehard fan
a/n ; this is such a funny request. please enjoy!
a/n 2 ; i included my favourite commissioned song of each member, with a link to each! pls listen to them. they’re great.
characters ; kanade, mafuyu, ena, and mizuki.
# kanade.
since the members of nightcord are anonymous, and you don’t really know that your girlfriend is the composer of your favourite group, kanade can get a bit embarrassed whenever you talk about how amazing her group’s songs are!
she finds it a bit funny how you tend to deny how big of a fan you are, and if it were up to her, she’d gladly give you the title of number one fan.
one day, however, she doesn’t expect to hear you singing passion at 25:00 in your bedroom when she comes over for her weekly visit.
she stands there, mouth agape; your voice is beautiful, and your singing no less. you manage to hit every note with no issue, how come you’ve never sung for her before? she’d love to hear more.
when you find out she’s been standing there the entire time, your face flushes red and you pretend nothing was happening. she finds it adorable. <3
# mafuyu.
she can’t quite explain it, but mafuyu feels a certain warmth in her chest whenever you talk about how much you love nightcord, especially when you talk about how the lyrics of each song resonate with you.
she doesn’t understand why you deny it, though; if you like nightcord so much, why not express it?
it’s not until she finds you in your bedroom, as she arrived to your house for a ‘study session’ (a lie she told to her mother), singing saisei, that she seems to understand.
were you shy about singing in front of her? ashamed? you shouldn’t be — she finds your voice so comforting, and mafuyu feels a small, genuine smile form on her face.
it goes away, however, as soon as you notice her standing outside your door and go beet red; coughing into your fist and beckoning her to come inside. you really should sing for her sometime.
# ena.
ena can’t help but feel a bit proud of herself whenever you gush about nightcord — especially when you mention the artwork of each music video. that’s her art you’re praising; she wishes you knew that you were dating the illustrator.
she always asks why you deny it, and you respond with “i’m not denying anything!” which always makes her giggle.
nothing can stop her from being shocked, happy, and head over heels all at the same time, when she finds you in your bedroom singing i am rain, though.
it was a relatively new song from her group, and the fact that you already know each lyric by heart? could she be more in love?
she laughs as you realize she had been there the whole time, a lovestruck grin on her face as she enters your room.
# mizuki.
mizuki loves when you talk about nightcord! they can’t help but feel giddy whenever you mention the music videos, and how well they’re edited. that’s their work! and! you’re praising it!
they don’t question you when you deny your love for nightcord, only smiling as you continue to gush about it.
though, they’re absolutely awestruck by you, when they find you singing kimi no yoru wo kure in your room.
they feel like crying; you’re singing beautifully, and a song that’s dear to their heart, too. just when i thought i couldn’t love them more. they think to themselves.
giggling when you realize they’ve been there the whole time, they give you a hug; beyond grateful that you’re in their life.

🎨🎀 cozy mizuena headcanons to cope with mizu5 🎀🎨
ena and mizuki sometimes post dancing videos on tiktok! ena is Terrible at learning the dances and mizuki teases her the whole time so when they eventually have the videos ready for upload ena is always frowning in them
for ena’s birthday, mizuki once made a 2dmv using ena’s selfies (which she animated) as a silly present… ena pretended to be annoyed but she was in full lesbian panic thinking of mizuki spending hours animating and editing her selfies alsgslsgsk disaster lesbian
mizuki’s real present that birthday was to pay for ena’s desserts at a cute cafe! ena loved taking cute pics of the place for her account but by the end of the day she ended up with more pictures of mizuki and of the two of them together than of herself or the place
this is not rly a headcanon bc it’s been established in game but they go shopping together at the mall at least once a week! they both get butterflies in their stomach and blush when the other recommends some clothes or makeup that would suit them
they love lending clothes and make up to each other!! they both act rly gay in private when they try on the other’s lipstick/lipgloss (their hearts hammering in their chests bc “this is an indirect kiss…”) and they breathe a bit deeper when wearing the other’s clothes, the scent making their chests feel tight with longing
for their first official date, they took the train and went to the place where they went on a picnic with airi and shizuku all that time ago. this is because they didn’t wanna run into anyone they knew and wanted a quiet place to be alone. they have a nice picnic and both are too nervous to talk but then mizuki breaks the silence by teasing ena about her bento looking all funny (she tried her best okay!). after that it’s all like usual!! the share bentos, talk about nothing, and on the walk back to the bus stop their hands brush together and they are both so red in the face they laugh at each other. they hold hand properly as they wait for the bus, looking at a beautiful sunset
after they get together, they don’t immediately tell mafuyu and kanade bc they’re scared they’ll think something in their group dynamic would change. they tell them in a very officious manner at the usual family diner, and kanade frowns while mafuyu deadpans “you talked about dates in the main channel. also kanade and i are in also involved, we thought you knew, we don’t hide it.” it’s all a bit chaotic after that but then they all laugh (and mafuyu smiles ever so slightly). mizuki already knew that knmf had mutual feelings for each other but she thought they’d say smth if they started dating. ena had no idea.
this is more of a kanamafu headcanon but they think they’re obvious bc they stand very close together and fix each other’s clothes and hold hands etc. but mizuena thought nothing of it bc you know. kanamafu are both quite autistic so norms don’t really apply to their behaviours.
mizuki wants a prize figure for a magical girl anime she likes so they schedule a date at the arcade. mizuki tries her best to get the prize figure but cant. ena decides to be a good girlfriend and says “leave it to me.” she sucks so bad that mizuki cries from laughing as ena yells abuse at the machine and everyone stares at them. ena punches the machine and the figure (which mizuki had moved near the edge) falls in the hole. they both look stare at each other in silence for a second and then laugh so much their bellies hurt. seeing ena laugh so much makes mizuki impulsively kiss her for the first time. they both stare at each other in shock before giggling and hugging
akitoya were at the arcade too, and when akito heard ena yell at the machine he grabbed toya and ran out the arcade without looking back.
akito and ena accidentally plan their coming out on the same evening and it’s chaos at the dinner table (bc they start accusing the other of copying them and “why didn’t you tell me first” and “akiyama? of course… you two are really made for each other” “what is That supposed to mean?!” etc) . their dad doesnt have much to say, but their mom demands they invite mizuki and toya there for dinner some time.
dinner with the shinonome’s is a lot of fun for mizuki! she gets to see ena and akito being silly and keeps teasing them when their mom is out of earshot (she wants to make a good impression). ena’s mom smiles very fondly when she sees ena sneakily putting her carrots on mizuki’s plate and mizuki pretending not to notice. ena’s dad comes back late from the atelier and shakes mizuki’s hand and asks her to take care of ena. it’s a very short meeting but it makes mizuki realize she really IS dating ena and it’s official and she can barely fall asleep that night even though they have been dating for a month.
once ena tried to sketch mizuki but she’s so nervous her hands keep shaking and mizuki’s teasing her but she’s also feeling very self-conscious and her heart wont stop beating fast! ena eventually manages to make a nice portrait, and mizuki grins all the way back home, and hangs the portrait over her bed. she think she looks cuter in the drawing, and keeps grinning thinking that’s how ena sees her.
ena meets yuuki one time when she is back from france and they hit it off rly well!! mizuki is so so happy to see the two most important people to her talk about fashion and french pastries! yuuki was told about ena’s sweet tooth so she brought her some macarons from france, and ena is so happy she is a bit over enthusiastic in thanking yuuki, and mizuki teases her quite a bit about it.
when mizuki goes to get them some drinks, yuuki takes ena aside and thanks her for all she did for mizuki since middle school (with niigo) and asks her to take good care of her little sister while she’s away. she gets a bit teary as she says this, remembering how lonely and miserable mizuki was and how happy she is now. ena also gets teary and when mizuki comes back with drinks, she finds them crying on the sofa lmao
while yuuki is still in town, the three of them go shopping together and yuuki helps both ena and mizuki coordinate their outfits. when it’s time for her to go back to france, she promises ena she’ll sew her some clothes and ship them her way
now that they are dating, mizuki starts going to school more often and actually stays till the end of the day so that she can wait for ena to come take her evening classes. and ena starts going to school a bit early so they can hang out on the roof for a while before mizuki goes home and ena’s classes starts. on the roof, they chill and share snacks and do each other’s make up and read fashion magazines and browse social media together and discuss the music video they’re working on for niigo… sometimes ena draws and mizuki watches editing tutorials on her phone. they always sit very close, hip to shoulder, and sometimes one of them rests their head on their other’s shoulder and they just close their eyes and enjoy each other’s comforting presence
#can you tell i make fics about them in my brain all the time. i have had it all mapped out for so long lmao#but i never share stuff like this idk why alsgslsgskg event so good it made me get over my fear of being perceived online lmaoo#mizuena#kanamafu#akitoya#mizuki akiyama#ena shinonome#project sekai#prsk#niigo#n25#mine

I saw an artist make a post "new chapter in a nutshell" where Aoi looked disgusted like. Hello do we read the same manga she was so jealous of Nene, was mad at him for leaving, blushed at his confession and her face when teru told her she wasn't the Aoi he Ioved kmggg
AKANE WASN'T LIKE THAT WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER?? WHY WOULD HE BE LIKE THAT NOW!! IT WAS FUNNY AT FIRST BUT NOW ITS ENOUGH.
Not gonna lie all those people who say aoiaoi isn't canon make me laugh because:
.1 AOI confirmed her feelings for him,
.2 She looked DISTRAUGHT when Akane and Lemon got together,
.3 She does not wanna date Teru but Akane in canon.
The hate aoiaoi is so ridiculous, they even block people for it.
So many people followed me on twitter but blocked me when they realised I shipped aoiaoi??? Just let me like what I want it's not a proship.
Urgghh I feel like that thread about aoiaoi didn't get enough attention. I should post it here too.
Almost nobody of the 900+ people who liked it actually understand what they read. It's so annoying people on tbhktiktok and tbhtwt are insufferable.
Aougn hear me out... Akane respecting boundaries In this timeline he didn't confess to her anymore because she told him not to since she was engaged, that's why she looked so surprised when Akane confessed to her.
Meanwhile in the og timeline it's CANON that she told him to keep confessing.
She probably did that so one day he would get tired and give up on her since she think he could never love her true self.
Also how dare someone say it was exaggerated of Aoi to go to the far shore just cause she felt different SHE WAS FUCKING DRUGGED SHE WAS DRUGGED DID YOU NOT READ THE FUCKING MANGA. Aoi was conscious she was just drugged to make her remaining reasons to stay in the near shore get cut off.
Like getting your reasons to live stolen away.
I'm legit thinking that Aoi might be like Mafuyu from pjsk to be frank, both have a mask and wanted to disappear, it's like they can't say a character wants to die. I'm not saying Aoi IS I'm saying she could be, after all there are some signs, not as clear as kou's but still signs.

looked through my friends' comments on events. here are the highlights (below the cut) PLEASE ignore the fact that there are various unread stories.i don't have time :< also i refer to some events with their jp titles in the image descriptions don't ask why.,.
(the spoiler one isn't really funny)
and for the people who commented on all events fitting a certain criteria...
FijodaFanastic (yes, the one who commented the first line of i nan desu's chorus in the last picture): commented on every event in which (i'm pretty sure this is the criteria) emu is a 4* and isn't a focus of another character, saying "i love emu otori"
Banana (yes, the one who commented on immiscible discord about loving mafuyu and also said "who let him cook..." under never give up cooking): commented on every event in which emu is the main card saying... actually i forgot to take a screenshot and i don't remember what this person said, but the comments yelled emu's name, laughed and then said wondahoi
#1 MINORI FAN!!: commented on - you guessed it - events where minori is the main card saying "Minori". also commented on events where honami is the main card saying "You look like Minori"
the crossover of all time with FijodaFanastic and #1 MINORI FAN!! on let's have the absolute best summer!:
another very noteworthy thing is that on dear my past self, #1 MINORI FAN!! spoilered the "Minori" comment for whatever reason??

HIIII I SAW THAT YOU DO PRSK MATCHUPS-
umm i'm not sure how to do this sooo
any gender is fine
personality traits: super duper silly, reverse mafuyu (🗿 on the outside 🌸 😁🌼🌺✨💖 on the inside), infp, hyperactive, witty, snarky, easily angered (i keep it to myself tho-), enthusiastic, sarcastic
hobbies: drawing, scrapbooking
love language: physical touch
extra stuff: say you have every form of adhd without saying you have every form of adhd challenge i am super hyperactive. like. it's not even funny anymore. i also have trouble with basic tasks and whatnot despite being a genius (i was supposed to be smart but then sky daddy said "no"
uhhh this is my first time rq smth like this so i hope i did fine 👍 *trembles in my boots*
i match you with emu!
• when she first saw you, her first idea was to put a smile on your face! though, when she realized you were just like her on the inside, she grew very fond of you! she’s always finding new jokes or things to make you smile or even laugh, and cheers to herself when she succeeds.
• as someone who also enjoys drawing, emu would love to see your art! she has the same reaction to each drawing you show her, a large gasp followed by an even larger smile, telling you; “[name], i love love loveee it! can i hang it on my wall?!”. she’d also love to see your scrapbooks, asking questions about what you put in there and why, it fascinates her!
• your love language is physical touch? good, because you’re gonna get a lot of surprise bear hugs from this girl! she’ll shout your name and tackle you in a tight hug, pressing kisses all over your face. she’ll hold your hand and walk with you to either your house, her house, or school, even phoenix wonderland if you wanted to go with her!

GAAHHHH it was really silly of me to ask what music you like. it literally slipped my mind that your url is a vocaloid song. i guess i asked because there are so many vocaloid songs, and so many different vibes and sounds, the vocaloid music one likes could differ greatly from that of another. i *do* listen to vocaloid, surprisingly & embarrassingly sparingly, as i'm a proseka fan. but do rule out your prsk-only mutuals. hmm...to give you a hint, my favorite units are mmj and niigo. i have a project sekai url, but i don't talk about it much nowadays >_> mostly because my ipad—what i play on—is on the fritz, and i plan on saving up to buy a new one so i can both play and draw digitally. it has been so saddening, not being able to do either of those things 。゜゜(´O`) ゜゜。in terms of proseka characters, you give me saki vibes ! she and shiho are my faves from leoni ♪
drop pop candy is such a cute song! and it's clearly very special to you. i remember listening to it for the first time in an undertale animation on youtube. i think my first vocaloid song was triple baka. i also like a wide range of styles, but i, too, love upbeat and energetic songs like you do. i won't right now because in my last ask i recommended you a whole album, but i'll make sure to send over some energetic kpop songs i think you'll like at some point ♡
CHICKEN TENDERS IS CRAZY LOL & it makes for a very funny story, if i do say so myself! the sugar bit is very telling. it's like i can smell and taste them myself just from the way you described it. do you remember what song you were listening to, or has it since slipped your mind? even if your synesthesia is mild, i still think it's cool! does drop pop candy smell like anything to you?
re: your tags I DO THE SAME THING. emojis, kaomojis & emoticons are perfect punctuation ^^ especially in online spaces, i think. i don't use kaomojis a lot in text because they're a hassle to copy and paste, but i love simple emoticons like :3 and ^_^ as well as emojis. also, it's easy to break up separate thoughts into several messages 🌸
+ the game is on !!!!! yay ! i'll be looking out for yellow hearts in my inbox, then. i'm trying to think of hints that don't make my identity obvious LOL. let's seeee...there aren't any dashes in my url & my favorite sanrio character is kuromi.
one last note: you're not the only person who assigned me leafeon via that game :> my friend reblogged with the tag "im breaking molds im shattering expectations . leafeon" which made me laugh a little to myself. everyone else mostly says sylveon!
i'll make sure to drink some water today ૮₍ ´ ꒳ `₎ა you have a nice morning/afternoon/evening yourself . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
♡, sylvie
OOOOOH okay!!! maybe ill make a list of all the hints i have of u some day :3 (maybe ill do it in the tags? idk)
i have been told i give saki vibes lol she was actually my pfp before i made my blog mirabelle themed ☆w☆ i love her a lot!! she's one of my favorite characters from any piece of media ever so i'm glad people compare me to her :D
i do remember what song triggered the chicken tender thing!! it was empurple, the new mafuyu commission. i'm in a bunch of project sekai servers so people were posting it everywhere right after it came out and on my very first listen i was immediately hit with a wave of Very Specific smell. it was super weird!! because up to that point i hadn't really experienced any bouts of synthesasia that weren't subtle enough to just write off as "my brain playing tricks on me" or something similar @-@
drop pop candy smells like cotton candy!! but it doesn't TASTE like cotton candy, it tastes like,,, birthday cake flavoring? i think that's it. kinda hard to tell it's just Really Sweet
yea!!! on discord i usually use server emojis or just send separate messages but you can't do that when replying to an ask so i just use faces :3
the game is afoot!! i'll add those clues to my mental box of em >:D
oo! i was not expecting that someone else would pick leafeon :o guess i am also breaking molds and expectations HAJSGSHSHD
i will have a nice evening!! i hope u do as well :DDD
#askbox on mars!#SORRY THIS JS SO LATE i could explain everything that got in the way but long story short is real life stuff would Not Stop Happening#better late than never?#ANYWAYS so here r my hints for u now >:3#-prsk url with no dashes in it#-mmj and niigo fan#-one of ur three favorite pokemon is sylveon and other people think u have sylveon vibes#-you use emoticons and kaomojis#-fav sanrio character is kuromi#-you like clairo and kpop#-your timezone is mine or earlier than mine (unless tumblr sent me the ask hours after u sent it in which case u could be anywhere)#uhhh i think that's it. but honestly it's more about vibes#i can't be SURE that i'll know u if i see u but i think i will probably

Given Tickle Headcanons
Because I have a mighty need for Given Tickles and can’t get enough jearjejjkaekr (Also may have made myself cry today reading Jojo fanfiction but that’s neither here or there OKAY HERE WE GO)
Mafuyu Sato
-Sweet baby boy with the voice of an angel! He deserves the world and more!
-Lee energy all the way!
- He gives me big “Ticklish tummy” vibes. Especially really gentle ones that leave him a giggly mess.
- 1000% Curls up on himself when tickled. He doesn’t try to fight back often (Unless it’s Uenoyama) so he focuses all his efforts to become a human ball while he giggles relentlessly.
- Sweet musical laugh that leans towards the breathy side. It’s like when he sings; it steals your heart and makes you ascend.
- Canonically ticklish palms! He loves holding hands with Uenoyama, even if the other will occasionally tickle him there from time to time.
- Not really one for cheer up tickles. But space out “Oi, pay attention” tickles? 10/10 recommend!
Uenoyama Risuka
- Grumpy switch!
- He’s so ticklish it’s not even funny. But it is.
- He looks like he’s got a ticklish neck and ears. Akihiko will occasionally squeeze the back of his neck and make him full body spasm.
- Not even kidding- he will drop to the ground so fast.
- He’s got a more energetic laugh full of swears and cackles.
- Alongside his neck he’s got ticklish ribs. The band will poke and tickle him whenever he’s too caught up in his head or just needs to smile more.
- Tickles Mafuyu the most. He likes hearing his boyfriend laugh.
Haruki Nakayama
-Canonically ticklish. (We saw those pokes Akihiko was giving him!) Also the most ticklish member in the band.
- Pretty much ticklish everywhere but especially his armpits and waist.
- Laugh is as pretty as he is; it’s sweet sounding and charming.
- Big lee energy- shamelessly loves being tickled (On paper- if you call him out on it he get’s so flustered)
- Loves messing with the boys on the daily basis during practice, especially Uenoyama and Akihiko. If he feels like things are getting too intense he’ll break it up with some surprise tickles.
- Surprisingly not ticklish on his neck. Akihiko tried tickling him there once and got nothing! Haruki bragged about not being ticklish until his boyfriend tried another spot.
- Flusters at teasing easily!
Akihiko Kaji
- Ticklish everywhere but on such a light scale he can pass of as immune.
- One of those people where you need to find his “on switch” before he get’s super sensitive.
- I feel like he’s got ticklish arms and legs. Calves, feet, hands, arms. etc.
- Deep rich laugh he tries to hold back all the time.
- His ear piercings are ticklish. I’ve decided that, it’s canon now.
- He’s not much of a tickler but will happily destroy someone if provoked. Usually targets Haruki but will get Mafuyama if he feels inclined.
- Only Haruki knows his one guarenteed tickle spot and he’s not telling! (Psst- it’s his lower back)
Thanks for reading!

I just read like the VBS cameo chapter from the Prayer Ahead of Tomorrow event story and I realized that this is like Akito and Toya’s first time meeting Haruka. And I’m just laughing at Akito’s reaction, bc he was like ‘huh An really is friends with Haruka Kiritani”. I sometimes forget that like 3/4 of MMJ are technically celebrities so ofc Akito would be skeptical that An knows an idol celebrity like Haruka. He isn’t really surprised but he also does have the image of Haruka as someone who’s just on the screen. But I also would just find it funny if An told Akito one time in the past that she’s friends w/ Haruka and him just going sure An.
So sometimes I can’t help but wonder what different reactions are from people when they hear someone say they’re friends w/ someone from MMJ. Like how do you think Akito reacted when Ena said she was friends with Airi back when she was in middle school. I remember that they had met before I think the story started, so we don’t know how they met initially, but I can imagine Ena being smug but Akito just rolling with it.
How do you think Minori’s parents reacted? Like one day Minori comes home and is like “I’m friends with Haruka Kiritani now and Airi Momoi and Shizuku Hinomori and we’re going to form an idol group” and they just go that’s nice honey. But then one day all three of them pop up at Minori’s house and her parents have a heart attack. They know those 3 are celebrities, esp with how much idol merch Minori owns. So they’re like panicking and Minori is also kinda panicking bc her parents are being embarrassing and the rest of MMJ are just like ‘ah it runs in the family’ and just smile at how cute the Hanasato family are. I think Minori has siblings but I can’t remember if they’re younger or older. They also get introduced to Minori’s dog Samo-chan and they all love him. I think Haruka meets her dog actually in a card story so it’s a nice reunion.
Do you ever think Leo/need are also sort of laughing at Shizuku fans talking about her as a perfect goddess? All of Leo/need probably remember Shizuku from their childhood and have different memories of her being her usual self. I like think one time she got them all lost when they tried to go get ice cream and Shiho got really embarrassed and Saki started getting tired so they all had to call Tsukasa to come find them and help them. So he drops whatever he’s doing as soon as he sees it’s Saki calling him and runs around trying to find them. They go get ice cream after and they all decide to bring Tsukasa with them if Shizuku is there too just in case.
Do you think Mafuyu’s parents know she’s kinda friends with Shizuku and they’re actually ok with that? Like Mafuyu didn’t actually tell them, but they just find out from rumors and neighborhood talk. So ofc they’re ok with their perfect child being friends with a perfect idol celebrity in the form of Shizuku. So maybe Mafuyu says she’s hanging out with Shizuku or studying with Shizuku so that way she can get out of the house. And she asks Shizuku quietly if it’s ok for Shizuku to say they’re hanging out even if they aren’t actually and Shizuku accepts it bc she can tell that Mafuyu is under some sort of pressure to be perfect too so Shizuku is fine answering phone calls from Mafuyu’s overbearing mom that yes they are studying and so on. Shizuku also accepts Mafuyu’s request if she can hang out with Mafuyu some time bc she says she feels like they’re kindred spirits and Mafuyu realizes that maybe she can relate to her a little. I want more ShizuMafu interaction ok.
Anyways maybe I’ll make a part 2 of this later on, but I gotta go take care of some stuff. Let me know if I’m wrong about some facts.

"Would you still love me if I were a worm?"
(multi-fandom)
a/n: these are my absolute favorite to make. I'm doing multi because i originally had this idea for JJK but really only write Maki and Nobara so i decided to do different characters from other fandoms to make up for it rip
my inbox is still open so come and gush abt your fav character or something lol
--------------------------------
Maki Zenin
Confused, very confused
wants to know who put that idea into your head
Maki does say no, because how is she suppose to love a worm??
Notices you pouting and assures you that as long as you don't turn into a worm, she'll still love you
"Why would i love a worm? What would I even do with you? Hey! Don't pout about it, it's not like you'll be turned into worm anytime soon."
Nobara Kugisaki
Thinks about for a little bit
Decides that she probably would love you as a worm, cue to her asking you the same question
gets pouty when you say the exact same thing
after a bit of back and forth, Nobara will reluctantly say that she'd keep you as a let
"I guess I could keep you as a pet. I would give the prettiest enclosure ever and i would start a social account called (y/n)theworm!"
Jolyne Kujo(Cujoh??)
laughs, like full on wheezing laugh
realizes your serious
feels really bad, but not by much
"Your serious? Yeah, no. I love you as you are, but worms are kinda gross. But hey if it makes you feel better, i could also be a worm! We could be worms in love!"
Foo Fighters
Yes!
Why wouldn't they love you?
You'd be pocket sized and they could carry you everywhere
would tie a small bow on worm you
wants to know if your actually turning into a worm
"You could fit in pocket! I could carry you everywhere I go and i could put tiny clothes on you."
(idk how to write Ermes so im not gonna include her this time, I'm sorry :( )
Emu Ootori
Emu is probably the one to have asked you
does pout if you say that you wouldn't
however Emu will convince to keep her in an enclosure
even draws you both as worms
"Look how cute we'd be as worms!! We could go on worm adventures!... What do we do if we get eaten by birds!?"
Airi Momoi
another one who probably asked you the question instead
does understand if you didn't want to love her as a worm/keep her as a worm
makes up different scenarios of her life as a worm
"If i was a worm, I'd wanna live in a flower, ooh and.. and You would visit the flower everyday to water it and to protect it from unwanted visitors!"
Mafuyu Asahina
no
Mafuyu would not love you as a worm
there is no convincing her
she wouldn't even keep you, worms are gross
very confused
"You wouldn't have any feelings, how would you even know who i am?"
Beidou
Thinks it's really funny
pretends to consider it
Beidou will ask what kinda worm you are which confuses you
what ever you answer is, she says that she'd use you as fishing bait
"It doesn't really matter what kinda worm you'd be, you'd still become fish bait Huh? Hey, don't look at me like that! It's only a joke!"
Lisa Minci
ew, no
worms are gross and certain kinds eat books
what if you were one of those?
she can't have you eating her books or making a mess
"oh dear, now who put that thought into that pretty head of yours? I'm sorry cutie, worms are a bit too messy for my liking."
Kujou Sara
confused
why would you even say that?
were you hanging around Itto, did his stupidity rub off on you?
makes sure you didn't bump your head
thinks that she isn't showing you enough attention
"Are you saying that because I missed our last date? I promise you it won't happen again, I got caught up in a meeting. Would you like to go somewhere now? Perhaps to have tea or would you prefer to walk around a bit?"

Tokushima Shinbun Interview with Yano Shougo
Interviewing Yano Shougo-san, who has starred for the first time in the topical anime “Given” and is originally from Tokushima. “I wanted to be an actor that would make people go, ‘I’m glad I entrusted the role to him’.”
Yano Shougo-san (30), who is from Tokushima and belongs to the troupe Super Eccentric Theater (SET), played a starring role for the first time as a voice actor in the anime “Given”, which aired from July to September on Fuji TV. “Given” is a heartrending story that centers itself around a romance between men from the same rock band. Having received high evaluations for his acting and singing voice, which portrayed with excellence the delicate emotions of the protagonist, Satou Mafuyu, Yano-san has told us about the feelings he put into the role and about his future goals.
Raw || Index || Ko-fi/PayPal ( ╹◡╹)っ’・*
——Good job on your first starring. Please tell us again about your impressions from when you were entrusted with the leading role.
Thank you very much. Playing a leading role in an anime series was my goal for 2019, so when my manager contacted me saying that I had passed the audition, I was happy to the point of shedding tears, but at the same time, I was also relieved. I could not sleep a wink the day before the recording of episode one, and at any rate, I was nervous. On the recording day, I was thinking as I headed to the studio, “It’d be great if the recording were tomorrow”, but I got over it a little by the moment that I thought, “If this anxiety would continue until tomorrow, then it’s actually better for it to be today!” and I remember relaxing straight away at it
——Yano-san, your fragile voice was a perfect fit for Mafuyu. What did you keep in mind when performing him? Were there any points that differed greatly in comparison to the roles you have been playing until now?
Mafuyu has an extremely painful past, unable to move a single step from where he was, as he bore a huge wound. Still, he has proper thoughts and feelings of his own, as well as a stubborn side, and though he has a mild and introverted personality, I figured that he was someone who had a strong core.
Other than that, when I saw him playing basketball with his friends, smiling and earnestly absorbing himself completely in music, I had the impression that he was a “high school boy that you can find anywhere”. This was something I always cherished when performing.
I have played uke roles before, but this was the first one where so many of my lines were “...” (laughs).
——What parts of Mafuyu do you think you have in common, Yano-san, and what parts are the total opposite of you?
I think we are just a little bit alike in that we are greedy about the things we like, and we are unable to concentrate on anything else when there is something that we need to do our best in order to achieve. What I feel to be the opposite is that Mafuyu gives off the impression that he is a big shot in some way, even without speaking much, while I am talkative and shy (laughs).
——You were also in charge of singing the insert song and ending theme song.
I knew ever since the audition phase just how essential Mafuyu’s song was for the series, so rather than my being happy about singing, the pressure was much more prominent. As a matter of course, the frequency of my voice training soon increased, and learned the basics and techniques of singing as much as time allowed me to. When I was first told about the composition, I thought, “This song was made for Mafuyu’s sake”. That is exactly why, rather than the technique, I reflected about why and how Mafuyu would be singing those lyrics, as well as the emotions that would be overflowing from him, and I thought I should sing it with care, without sugarcoating it.
——What did you keep in mind when singing as Mafuyu?
The song that Mafuyu sings bears his definite resolve to face his past and live in the present, thus I believed that I had to make it into something like a love confession, so to say - a song that could be sung because Mafuyu was the one doing it. For this, of course, technique was important, but I kept in mind that it would be okay even if it was rough-hewn or even if my voice faltered, as long as I sang in a way that would spit out everything Mafuyu had been shouldering.
——Although Noitamina has produced countless master piece animes, this has been their first Boys Love (BL), a series that depicts romance between males, so was there anything you were particularly conscious of when performing?
There was not. Just as I do when performing roles from other series, I performed while keeping in mind that I was going to live in the world of “Given” as Mafuyu with all my might.
——I believe there was such a huge response to “Given” due to its painful content, but did it get to your ears?
There are many fans of the original work not only in Japan but also overseas, so I became aware once again of the popularity of “Given”. That is just how high the expectations were for the anime adaptation, and I wanted people to like it even more when watching the anime, so I was truly happy when I actually did get evaluations like that on Twitter, etc.
——The airing of the anime “Given” is over, but a movie adaptation was green-lit. Please leave a message for the fans.
The story of “Given” will continue from now on too. I hope everyone can watch over what kind of sounds will come from Mafuyu’s song, Given’s (as in the band that Mafuyu and the others formed in the show) music and their romance from now onward.
——From here on out, Yano-san, I want to ask you about yourself. It seems you wanted to be an announcer at first.
I had the vague desire to move into the television business, and from yet another vague motive of wanting to become an announcer and engage with my favorite variety show, I started thinking in my third year of high school that I wanted to be an announcer.
——Why did you aim for voice actor from there?
After graduating from high school, I took a gap year in order to attend university, and during that time, I watched “Neon Genesis Evangelion” as per a friend’s recommendation, so with this as the trigger, I became interested in anime. I had almost never watched anime until then and was unfamiliar with voice actors, so I was shocked when I read in the end roll that Ogata Megumi-san was the one who played the role of Ikari Shinji, a boy, thus I became interested in them.
——Was there anything you put effort into in order to become a voice actor?
During my gap year, I watched many animes, looked up the voice actors that piqued my curiosity and imitated their acting, and performed lines from anime and manga with as much emotion as I could. I also bought a training book for becoming a voice actor and practiced enunciation while keeping it a secret from my family.
——What are the details of your joining SET?
I was was part of a the theater research association in university, but when I was in my fourth year, I once gave up the way of an actor and went job hunting. Even so, I wanted to have a job that was related to acting, so I took the recruitment test of a major production company hoping to become a manager, but during the individual interview, the person in charge told me, “Are you really all right with giving up on becoming an actor? If you want to be a voice actor, then go study theatre”.
And so, I began wanting to challenge myself one more time, so I stopped job hunting and after looking into audition magazines, I took an audition to become a research student of SET, where I could learn the essentials for musical, action and comedic theatre. I became a research student at 23, and after about a year of lessons and a graduation performance, I became an official member at the age of 24.
——Please tell us about the works and roles you did before your voice actor debut.
During my first year in becoming a troupe member, I played the role of Saburou, the protagonist of the TV anime “Nobunaga Kyousoukyoku”, as a motion actor - the kind of actor who does the gestures that are used as base for the characters’ movements.
I also participated in the troupe’s own public performance. It was a role where I had to drink coffee and say only one phrase, “It’s sweet”. It was a sentence that connected with a funny punchline, so I had been thinking all along about how I should act it out in order to induce laughter, and even during the performance, I did many attempts.
——After that, you debuted as a voice actor in the anime “Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V”.
When I was selected, I was really happy to be able to take the voice acting job that I had once given up on. I was brimming with confidence for some reason, even though I had no experience points. But when I went to the studio, I was no good at all; I would get nervous every week and had to stay overtime a lot, so I honestly hated going to the studio (laughs). Even so, thanks to the director and all the co-stars not throwing away someone like me, who did not know left and right, and instead nurturing me during the three years of “Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V”, I changed my thinking and posture in regards of acting.
——Afterward, you became capable of being entrusted with important roles, such as in “iDOLM@STER SideM” and “Tsurune —Kazemai Koukou Kyuudoubu—“, but were there any parts of them where you could feel your own growth?
In that I started thinking it was fun to perform. Even now, I still get nervous when going on-site, but as I would read the script, think about the role and create a foundation for my acting, I feel like I have become able to perform in front of the mic by responding to the acting of the person playing the other role, without thinking about unnecessary things, little by little. The moment I feel that the air has set to motion and it has turned into a drama is, if nothing else, enjoyable. I started having challenges, aspirations and goals for myself, such as, “I want to perform like this more” or, “I could bring this role into life more if I performed like that”.
——What are the fun and difficult parts of voice acting? Please tell us about your future goals too.
I believe the fun in being a voice actor is that we can perform roles that would be difficult in filming or on a stage.
There are many things that you can only learn in a recording site. When I go to them, I find a whole lot of people who are better at acting than I am, so I have to earn a role for myself. I fail most of my auditions and get depressed each time. Even so, I want to keep showing up in those series and play a role that moves the story. I always strongly think that I want to become an actor who can make people go, “I want to use Yano for this” and, “I’m glad I entrusted this role to Yano”.
——From now on, between actor and voice actor, which one to you plan to put more strength into?
Voice actor. That being said, in order to broaden my ranges as an actor too, I think I have to take on all kinds of jobs that require technique for different facial expressions on-stage. For us voice actors, charming people are mostly those who are also charismatic on the stage, so I think I also want to become a charming actor.
——Are you able to return to Tokushima regularly even now?
I make sure to go back as often as I can during summer vacation and New Years.
——Are there any parts of your life in Tokushima that have been put to good use in your acting jobs?
I seldom have any chance to come in contact with anything related to acting in Tokushima. Even if I had interest in voice actors and acting, wanted to attend a training school or thought about going to watch a play, they were all things that could not come true if I stayed in Tokushima. That is why I created many opportunities to come in contact with acting after moving to Tokyo, such as joining my university’s theatre research association and attending a school where I could study voice acting. I think I could cultivate something like a hungry spirit exactly because I used to live in Tokushima.
——If there is anything or any place in Tokushima that you like, please tell us.
Awa Dance, I guess. I did not like it that much when I was little, but after I became an adult, the group dance I watched from a box seat was stunning, and it made me so emotional that I started crying.
Also, the park that my grandfather often took me to when I was a child, though I don’t know if it still exists. I would put rice balls and pickled horseradish in a big plastic container and go there. I have memories of eating them with cold tea from a polyethylene teapot with my grandfather, after playing badminton. I want to do the same with my children and grandchildren when I become a parent and a grandpa.
——Yano-san, since you have made your dream come true, please leave a message to the young people who are chasing their dreams in Tokushima.
Time passes in a flash. For now, please do what you can with all your might. It can be anything, like classes, club activities, cultural festivals, sports festivals or romance.
If there is anything you can work your hardest in over there, please try facing it with all you have. It will certainly become a sustenance for your life from this point onward. I believe that it is better to do something and regret it than to regret not having done it.
Should there be anyone aiming to become an actor, please take action while constantly thinking about how you can get closer to the future that you have as your goal. I think there are surely many things you can do even if you are in Tokushima.
If you do not know what you should do after doing a research and reflecting on it, have courage and go consult someone who can give advice. Nothing is in vain, but rather than spending time not thinking about anything, I believe that spending time thinking about whatever is more worthwhile.
Please do your best. I will do my best too.
——Please leave a message for the fans who are cheering for you from Tokushima.
Thank you so very much for supporting me. The other day, when I took part in a recital play being held in Tokushima, I was able to show my acting to my family for the first time. They were very pleased.
Most events are held in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, so I believe that people cannot go watch them even if they want to. My wish for more and more people to experience an event in Tokushima and see me working has become even stronger.
I will be doing my best from now on too in order to be able to take part in more series, play all kinds of roles, get to do an event in Tokushima again someday and have people come talk to me. I will be counting with your continued support from this point onward too.

Helloo i saw a tweet you made saying you recently watched a bunch of gay animes and i was wondering if you could perhaps make a list and post them on twitter? I'm always looking for anime to watch and i know your tastes align with mine. If it isn't too much of a bother perhaps? I hope you have loveky days!!!❤❤❤❤
Hey friend! I put off answering this, sorry, because my answers tend to be unnecessarily long and I was v tired when I got the original message. But if you’re still interested, here’s a lil rundown of some of what I’ve been watching/reading. In reference to this tweet, where I was watching a show that definitely isn’t gay but is kinda gay if you just squint the tiniest bit, which I’ve gotten used to doing.
If you follow me on twitter, most of these proooobably won’t be new? But I talk about/RT things on a scattered basis, so maybe there are some you haven’t checked out yet.
So, the canonical gay! I’m only going to list the ones I liked and/or remember most - my Quest For Gay Anime started two years ago, and I watched pretty much everything I could get my hands on, but at that point, there were only a few I loved enough to rewatch/buy/recommend. The list has gotten a little longer since then, unfortunately for my attention span and wallet.
(I’ll be honest, a lot of the really popular/older BL have too many consent issues for my tastes - I understand the context and all that, and no hate on anyone who loves stories that didn’t particularly appeal to me. But I’m including this note cause (a) if I don’t put a really well-known BL anime on this list that’s probably why (b) I’m gonna drop in a few that toe that line but I’ll try to include warnings where relevant.)
ANIME FAVES
DOUKYUSEI (Classmates)
This is kinda where it all started. I saw a tweet going around with a trailer for a very soft, lovely movie about two boys falling in love, and I thought whaaaaat an actual gay story? Where they kiss? And I don’t have to just imagine it??
Still one of my top faves. It’s beautifully animated - like filming watercolors? It always makes me feel languid and happy. The story and characters are realistic, in a very kind, hopeful way, as these two navigate starting a relationship that neither of them expected. It’s available on Amazon video - I own a digital copy there, hah, as well as the physical blu-ray, because I watch it often enough to want both.
I also recommend the manga, although I’ve only recently discovered that apparently the story did not end after the first three volumes, so I can only recommend that far. (I’ve heard it, unfortunately, gets angstier, and it’s still incomplete? The first three volumes feel complete to me, so I’m happy to leave it there if so.)
The movie pretty much covers the first manga volume - it’s a very accurate page-to-screen translation - and there’s some really wonderful relationship building and exploration of family dynamics in the next two volumes.
HITORIJIME MY HERO (My Very Own Hero)
Another huge favorite that I have literally watched like 30 times at this point. Two gay couples, double the fun, although this pairing is by far my favorite.
I’ll direct you to my very long post on this topic for more information, but the short version is:
Warning: there is an age gap and student/teacher relationship, but it’s treated very thoughtfully and is directly addressed as part of the story. They have to navigate through how to make their relationship work (issues with friends, coworkers, society). And they didn’t meet as student/teacher - it’s a lot more complicated, with some fantastic family dynamics. There’s a lot of angst to Setagawa’s backstory that makes you really appreciate the happiness and love he finds with Kousuke & his whole family. (Many more details in my watch-this-anime post.)
The series is 12 episodes long, with a WONDERFUL (happy) ending that makes me cry LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE TIME. Gosh I love this show a lot. It packs some serious feels - I cry, I laugh, I cry again, but for happy reasons.
It’s from a manga, but I do not recommend the manga. The manga falls into a lot of the tropes that I personally don’t like; I think the anime does a much better job of tackling the complexity of their story and treating these two with the thoughtful nuance they deserve.
Can be found on Amazon; I bought the blu-ray, and it’s one of the exceedingly rare cases where I love both the sub and the dub. There are slight differences in translation that really makes it worth watching both.
GIVEN
Wow, this one. Available on Crunchyroll, 11 episodes with a movie coming soon.
It’s newer to my list, and it’s really, really good. I’ve only read the first two volumes of the manga so far (with two more on preorder), because tbh I have trouble reading scanlations online and find it a lot more enjoyable to just wait for the official translations in paperback form.
So far the anime lines up pretty closely with the manga, so I do recommend both, although at this point I enjoy the anime more - partly because of some of the choices they make in rearranging/expanding scenes, and partly because it’s a story about a band, so it makes a huge difference to be able to actually hear the music.
And Mafuyu’s song is worth it. Wow. I listened to it on repeat for like two weeks after the episode first aired.
Uenoyama (the dark-haired stern-looking heart-of-gold character, I have a type), is my favorite. He is a MASSIVE disaster gay, and a lot of his scenes are absolutely hilarious. The dynamics between the characters aren’t what you’d expect - it’s amazing to watch the seemingly quiet Mafuyu come out of his shell and display his true personality - and there’s some really gritty, emotional material, too.
What’s fascinating about this one is that there are parallel stories going on about past loves and heartbreak, and how truly loving (and losing) someone doesn’t mean you can’t find happiness again.
(Warning and a spoiler: there is a suicide that happens before this story starts - Mafuyu’s ex-boyfriend - and while nothing about it is graphic, that event is central to Mafuyu’s story, so there are some weighty episodes. It ultimately leads to him meeting Uenoyama and joining the band. And finding himself again.)
The movie’s gonna focus more on the secondary couple, but I’m still excited to see more of them! And...more angst, I imagine, but hopefully a lot more happiness as well.
SARAZANMAI
Okay, fair warning: this show is weird.
I think if you’re familiar with Japanese folklore, particularly kappas, you might have a much better intro than I did, but considering the creator laughed about how much they got away with by hiding the weirder parts of the story during the initial pitch, I...am not sure about that.
It’s weird but I liked it a lot. I’m not even going to attempt to explain it in the space available here, but the wiki page has a decent summary if you’re curious before diving in.
The very, very condensed version is that the main characters are three middle school boys who get turned into kappas by the kappa prince, who sends them on missions to retrieve “dishes of hope” every episode. In the process, they learn more about themselves and each other, since each time they complete one of these missions, it results in one of their big secrets being spilled to the others.
I like the main trio (and there’s a gay subplot there, too, where one of the boys is in love with his best friend but doesn’t know how to tell him), but I started watching the show because of the “villains,” Reo and Mabu. They have a deeply angsty backstory that you don’t get to until the last couple episodes. Up until then, they have a transformation sequence every episode that ... yes, gets repetitive, Miraculous Ladybug-style, but I still sat and watched, entranced, every time.
One of the things I like about this anime is that while it is very, very gay, it’s not about being gay. It’s a fantasy story where several characters just happen to be gay. As much as I love romance (which the rest of these recs definitely have been), I like being able to see gay people (or kappas...) in different genres, just existing.
And if you can’t get into the show (11 episodes, available on Crunchyroll), there’s a spinoff manga about Reo and Mabu being disaster dads to a baby girl they find on a dish in the middle of the street. I think it’s a human AU (kinda?), but it’s super sweet and funny and I liked it a lot.
THE BETRAYAL KNOWS MY NAME
Okay, so this was an early favorite, and I rewatched it recently and laughed a lot about how massively dramatic it is, but I don’t care, I’m still into it.
We’re skirting the edge of “canon gay” here, because you never get an on-screen kiss, and it’s technically a shoujo manga. But...it was at the top of a lot of BL lists when I was first hunting for good stuff to watch, and the relationship between Yuki and Luka is deeply romantic (and achingly piningly good) and central to the story.
The title’s linked to one of Luka’s frequent lines: “I will never betray you,” which he earnestly tells Yuki at every opportunity he gets. Luka is an extremely powerful demon, and Yuki is part of an immortal (via reincarnation) clan that hunts demons. But in Yuki’s past life, they fell in love.
Yuki was, at that point and in previous lives, a woman, but something changed this time around: he was reborn as a man, and without any of his memories.
Luka, who waited for Yuki to be reincarnated so they could be together again, still remembers and still loves him. But he keeps his devotion on Yuki’s terms, refusing to force the memory of a relationship that Yuki might have wanted to forget.
There’s one particularly great scene where the leader of Yuki’s clan asks Luka if anything has changed - if they can still rely on Luka to stay by Yuki’s side and be his protector. “They have the same soul,” Luka says. Gender doesn’t matter. He loves Yuki. He’ll always love Yuki.
And Yuki, though he doesn’t remember loving Luka, begins to slowly, inevitably, fall in love again.
The anime is 24 episodes - while it doesn’t fully close out the story, it does have some closure, or at least a solid sense of an upcoming happy ending. (I own the DVD; I don’t think the show is currently available to watch online.)
There’s also a manga, which is beautifully illustrated, wow, the sheer level of detail in this blows me away. Which, unfortunately, was way too much work to maintain at that level and ultimately destroyed the author’s health, so the last few volumes get shorter and shorter and the story trickles to an unsatisfying conclusion.
I still love it a lot, though, and it’s another example of establishing a great relationship within the context of a much larger story - a sweeping, complicated fantasy epic.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Those are my primary favorites, unless I’m forgetting anything (and for the purposes of this post, I’m leaving out things like Tiger & Bunny and Promare, which are very gay and embraced as such by the creators but also not something I’m comfortable including in a Definitely Canonically Gay, You Won’t Ever Be Disappointed By Future Reveals list). If I have the energy, I might make another post like this for those kinds of stories.
But there are a few others that I enjoyed, if not enough to buy copies of or collect merch for. These include:
No. 6
Dystopian, so definitely very dark and kind of visually disturbing in places (for instance, people rotting from mystery infections). There’s a central m/m romance and one kiss, but the ending is kind of an open one without a super happy conclusion. It doesn’t have high rewatch value for me - I’ve only ever watched it once and don’t really feel inclined to go back - but it's got good storytelling and is worth viewing.
Kizuna Koi No Kara Sawagi (Much Ado About Nothing OVA)
That last bit of the title is important to get you to the correct OVA, since there are different variations of this story. It’s been a long time since I tried the main anime, but I did not like it - I had major issues with its story, particularly with the sexual assault plotline. I did, however, love the OVA and have recommended it to people as something that can be watched independently.
There's still a little dodgy content in it (as with a lot of things in the BL genre), but it's mostly a lovely established relationship story with a lot of bittersweet feels, with flashbacks to how the couple got together.
It’s necessarily a "happy" story either, though, because they're in a loving, committed relationship in a society where they can't be open about that, and it takes a toll. They're doing their best to work through the difficulties together.
Ai no Kusabi
SERIOUS WARNINGS FOR THIS ONE.
It's about a society with "Blondies" as the elite ruling class and dark-haired "Mongrels" from the slums. There's slavery, plus some serious sexual consent issues...which I found extra prevalent in the newer version (prettier animation but much more cringey on the content).
The 90s version has rougher animation but a more interesting story. The relationship is still not necessarily healthy, but it reads as a lot more of a forbidden love BDSM relationship.
Even so, the ending is SUPER unhappy. I cannot emphasize that enough. I was watching all these things on my own without any warnings, so this one hit me really hard, and I couldn't stop thinking about it for days after. I’m not sure if I'd watch it again, but I've had interesting conversations with others who did.
I guess what I liked about it is that it’s a very different kind of story - and like I said earlier, it’s nice to have variety in genres. As long as every story isn’t dark and tragic, it’s worthwhile to sometimes experience ones that are told well. And weirdly (since this is not something I would watch with my family) it reminded me to some extent of the movies I grew up with - the 80s and early 90s had a lot of dark sci-fi, and my family really loved watching them, so there’s something...nostalgic about how disturbing it is? Thanks parents. At least this one’s gay.
Gakuen Heaven
To pull us back from the darker content, here’s one that I guess was adapted from a dating computer game. As far as I can remember, it was pretty free of cw; fun but not as emotionally engaging as some of the others. It’s pretty much just a fluffy story about a boys’ school on an island with a mystery plot and a romance.
MANGA RECS
I sprinkled some manga recs alongside the relevant anime, but here are a few others that I’ve only experienced in book form. (I’ve got one on my nightstand right now that I need to read, but if it’s good I’ll just update this post I guess, I’ve put this reply off for long enough.)
OUR DINING TABLE
Unlike a lot of the other manga I’ve read, this is a single volume, which means it has a nice, solid conclusion that wraps everything up wonderfully and doesn’t leave you any room to worry that the author will insert unnecessary drama down the line. (That’s an issue, ok? It happens a lot.)
A very soft, sweet romance that’s actually a lot more about building family - which is something that hugely appeals to me. Highly recommend. Loved it, bought it, will definitely reread it. I’d love to see it eventually made into a movie, like Doukyusei.
MY BROTHER’S HUSBAND
This is a hefty book - I ordered it after seeing a joke-tweet about the live action adaptation (which I haven’t been able to find to watch online). I was surprised by the size of the book but even more (pleasantly!) surprised by its contents. I’m not familiar with the author’s other works, although I’ve heard this is the uh....softest and sweetest of his writing. It’s honestly way more uplifting and healing than I was expecting.
Again, it’s largely about family: a quiet, very private Japanese dad dealing with a visit from his deceased (estranged) twin’s extroverted and cheery Canadian husband. This could go down some very dark paths, but it really doesn’t...there are some smatterings of homophobia mixed in, since that’s sort of the point, but there’s a lot of wonderful self-discovery and building new family bonds.
OUR DREAMS AT DUSK
Oh man. This series. Irene Koh (Legend of Korra comics illustrator) recommended it on twitter, and I picked up the first volume from my library and then could not stop. All four volumes are now out in official translations, and they’re so, so good.
These are definitely on the more realistic side - less of an idealized, prejudice-free view of the world, with more of an accurate picture of what it’s like to be not-straight in Japan.
And I phrase it that way because there’s a lot of variety in the characters in these books. The main character is gay - just coming to terms with the fact that he is, because life would be so much easier if he didn’t have a crush on the hot guy at school.
Content warning: it gets so bad at school, in fact, that he starts out the book planning to commit suicide. It’s dark. But it gets much better, and by the final volume he’s grown so much in his confidence and sense of self-worth - because he becomes a part of a community of other people who teach him that it’s okay to be himself.
And all the other storylines are wonderful. Some of the other characters you get to know include a trans guy, an ace woman, two girls who (spoilers!) get married in the fourth volume, and a much older gay guy who’s been with his partner for several decades.
It’s not a fluffy story - there’s some really tough material throughout, and people aren’t always nice, even the ones you really, really want to be - but they also learn and work hard at communicating with each other. I think these are pretty extraordinary books. Beautiful and heartbreaking but also deeply affirming.

Tag game!
I was tagged by @ohbabycupcakes thank u💖
RULES: Name 10 favorite characters from 10 different things then tag 10 people + leave comments on all of them
This is gonna be hard, where do I even start?
1) Keith (Voltron: Legendary Defender)
Okay I'm- trying not to laugh too hard because oh boy, this show was a complete mess. BUT Keith still stays as one of my favorite characters ever just because no matter how badly I was hurt by vld he'll always be precious to me 💖 He's hotheaded, cool and a lone wolf, but needs affection more than anyone else on the team. He's easy for me to relate to as I am more likely to push someone away than to keep them close just to avoid being hurt as well. His development is amazing tho and I love love him so much 😭 also it might be just that I have a soft spot for emo characters lmao
2) Todoroki Shoto (Boku no Hero Academia)
This just reinforces my statement earlier since Todoroki is pretty emo too :') But in a different way than Keith. If you are a part of bnha fandom you know he's generally a little bit overrated, but I couldn't help falling in love with him at first sight anyway lol His backstory is tragic but he keeps pursuing his dream and damn is he good at it. Also the combo of fire and ice is aesthetic goals. However, what I admire the most about Shoto is probably his loyalty to his friends, his will to fight and sometimes his goofy attitude (even if he probably isn't aware that he's being goofy lol) In conclusion: I love him, let's move on.
3) Uenoyama Ritsuka (Given)
Can I just stop to say how much I love given for a moment? Like I've never seen a bl anime/manga that would portray gay characters so respectfully 😭❤️ Ue is basically me gay panicking, I feel the boy so much :') OH also what's up with gays & guitars bc first given, then why r u and now also 2gether :') (I might be falling in love with this trope help) okay so: Ue is panicking when he starts liking Mafuyu but he handles it so well in a way? He doesn't deny his crush even if he is slow to notice it lol He's straightforward and sometimes a little bit rough around the edges, but even if he's supposed to be "the cool guy" we see him in the most hilarious settings and that just makes me love him all the more 💖 he respects Mafuyu and his boundaries and I want more of that in bl anime please
4) Eiji & Ash (Banana Fish)
Uhhhh this anime,,, I CANNOT choose between Ash and Eiji, I'm gonna forever see them as a pair and that's simply it. Ash is another emo one I would like to say that but he's actually not. He's backstory is heartbreaking and the life he has to live is dangerous and scary. He gets used to this reality where he has no one to rely on and no one to trust but then Eiji appears tearing his walls down and making him finally be able to show his soft and sensitive side to someone. Eiji is like a salve for his wounds and yes, I'm still emotional about it bc their relationship is one of the best developped I've ever seen. Their bond is so strong it's beautiful, they would literally die for each other. It's so apparent that they love each other and care for each other so much (don't mind me crying in the corner)
5) Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson & the Olympians)
PJ technically got me into fantasy/sci-fi in elementary school and it stays at the top of my favorite book series list ever (big props to Uncle Rick 👏) The whole series is funny and I would say pretty light-hearted even tho you know,,, Percy saves the world several times, lol, usual demigod things™. He's lovable. Son of Poseidon so he has seaweeds instead of a brain (or so you thought, he is brilliant at strategic planning and has a charisma to be a great leader), has a very good sense of humor, is loyal and would risk everything for his friends. Also he loves his girlfriend very much and I was crying while reading the House of Hades but no one needed to know that oh well. I'm also gonna mention Nico de Angelo here, since he fell in love with Percy (didn't we all tho) and was the first gay character I saw portrayed in the book and oh do I love him 😭💖
6) 707 (Mystic Messenger)
Was I losing sleep over this game? I was. Do I regret anything? Absolutely not. I think my choices are pretty boring tho, since Seven is literally everyone's favorite but oh boy there's a reason for that. Apart from being a talented hacker who knows too much (and I think is cautious of us the most at the start) he has a lovely happy-go-lucky personality composed of all the lame jokes, questions "have you eaten already" and anxiety (another emo one). He's that type of a character who will always try to make you laugh but you never know what's going on inside his head. He's mysterious and we don't get to know him well till his route so pretty much till the end of the game lol. Also he loves his brother, phd pepper, honey buddha chips and Elizabeth 3rd the most in this entire world and I love him for that
7) Evan Hansen (Dear Evan Hansen)
ANOTHER EMO ONE okay but hear me out Evan has social anxiety and its portrayal is almost too real for me. He makes a big oopsie which at the start seems like a little innocent lie but then snowballs to enormous sizes. He gains everything in this bargain, a best (dead) friend, a caring mother, a father, a girlfriend even - and then everything falls apart since it all is built on one fat lie. He makes a lot of mistakes and then some more but you get it and you feel for him, and you cry with him and you're happy for him. And when all of this is over you're glad that he's still there trying his best, taking it one day at a time. And sidenote: Ben Platt's voice is angelic and I love him as Evan 💖💖💖
8) Isak (SKAM)
Another gay panicking one. I'm starting to realize there's a set of traits that I particularly like in fictional characters lol But ye, when I was watching skam ofc it was the third season which gripped me the most and kept me on the edge, bc yet again Isak taking an "are you gay" test was way too real for me. He makes a lot of mistakes along the way of figuring out his sexuality and sometimes stuff with Evan becomes really messy (for both of them) but he stays with him nevertheless ❤️ Skam is literally so good in its portrayal of the characters :') Anyways: alt er love 💖
9) Viktor & Yuuri (Yuri on Ice)
Em, another one that I absolutely can't break up to just one bc how could I? Yuri on ice got me into skating ❤️ I went to an ice rink for the first time bc of this anime and I almost died but now look at me actually finishing my first three months of ice skating training and watching real life figure skating competitions :') Little did I know then. But they're not only my favourites bc of that, I genuinely love the development of their relationship from fan - idol through skater - couch to lovers and history makers in the end. I love how Yuuri is a ball of insecurities and how Viktor manages to reassure him. I love how Viktor fell in love with drunk Yuuri clinging to him. I love how at first Yuuri wasn't able to get too close to Viktor without getting flustered and it changes so drastically to them basically always holding onto each other. I love how Viktor was stuck with no inspiration but then Yuuri came and turned his world upside down. I love how they support and respect each other. I could probably go on into eternity like that and Yuri on ice isn't even the best anime I've ever seen but it's certainly my favourite one ❤️
10) Tutor (WHY R U)
I can't believe I'm so obsessed with thai dramas rn and I'm only gonna include Tor on this list smh He's mental attitude inspires me. He's able to hold so much and appears totally unfazed even if he's barely holding on inside. He's hardworking and doesn't want others to pity him since he can manage it all just fine. He has a kind heart, he's a wonderful friend (especially to Hwa, he always listens to her, gives her pieces of advise, supports her and tries to cheer her up). He never forgets to say thank you when he genuinely feels grateful. But as we've seen he also is passionate and when he loves he LOVES. Also he's the biggest tease to Fighter and I love him for that :') I am so satisfied just by seeing him happy, please do not change that whyru gods 🙏
As it appears I'm done .-. I have no idea what have just happened and if my rambling even makes sense but not that I care at this point. If you read this far, please drink some water now, that was a lot of reading to go through ❤️
Tagging: @wir-ro, @saecookie and any other 8 people who might want to ksks (im too tired to tag lmao)
Don't be like me and go to bed at reasonable hours despite this whole quarantine thing .-. thank again Doreen for tagging since it was really fun 🥺❤️
#funnily enough I realized I didn't include any female characters#which is kinda sad tbh#I think Hermione would be the one to be the closest to the pedestal#but it's done already huh so#tagged!#thanks for tagging uwu#vld keith#voltron#voltron legendary disappointment#ye right#given#uenoyama ritsuka#banana fish#asheiji#ash lynx#eiji nakamura#dear evan hansen#percy jackson#isak#skam#viktuuri#yuri on ice#katsuki yuuri#viktor nikirofov#todoroki shouto#bnha#why r u tutor#why r u the series#707#mystic messenger

Second Chances
Given Valentine’s Event 2020 Prompt: Sweet Tooth Pairing(s): Yayoi & Ritsuka, Yatake x Yayoi (mentioned), Mafuyu x Uenoyama (mentioned)
AO3
Summary: Yayoi hurt Ritsuka deeply, she knows that. More than anything she would like to make things right between them. She only hopes Ritsuka will grant her that chance.
Yayoi heard the front door to their apartment close and took a calming breath to prepare herself. She wasn’t really sure whether what she was planning was a good idea or not, but Yayoi knew she couldn’t bear Ritsuka’s closed off expression any longer.
She’d hurt him, even though that hadn’t been her intention. She’d questioned her brother’s fledgling feelings towards that kid in his band, even going so far as to call them unnatural and weird. What kind of thing was that for a big sister to do?
Especially when Ritsuka was so hesitant to show any feelings in the first place.
From the moment she’d uttered the words she’d wanted to take them back. Ritsuka had never been in love before, had never really shown interest in anything outside of his guitar. And now that he finally had, she had stomped all over it.
Ever since that day, they had lived as strangers, sharing the same house but not really speaking much outside of the necessary interactions to keep their parents off their radar, and Yayoi hated it.
She missed her little brother.
She looked at the bags she had placed on the kitchen counter earlier and hoped it was enough to repair what she’d broken. Yayoi grabbed the pot she would need to heat up the heavy cream, making as much noise as she was able in an effort to arouse her brother’s curiosity, but after a few minutes had passed, she gave up and went for a more direct approach.
“Ritsuka, can you come here for a moment?”
“What do you want?” his voice startled her, he’d been closer than she’d thought.
“Oh, hey! I was hoping you could help me with something,” Yayoi offered him her friendliest smile, the one which could usually get her anything she wanted from any male. Except for brothers apparently. Her smile dimmed as Ritsuka studied her with the same guarded expression that he’d given her since that day.
“Uhm, do you think you could chop up some chocolate for me?” Yayoi pleaded, “I have a shoot later today, and I can’t afford to break a nail.”
That was total bullshit. Even if she did such a thing, a nail artist would fix it promptly, but he didn’t have to know that.
“Fine,” Ritsuka went to the sink and washed his hands before accepting the packages of bittersweet chocolate from her and grabbing a large chef knife. He set about doing as she asked, and she used the time to think about what she wanted to say, not wanting to bring anything up while he was using a knife. His hands were just as important to him, especially now that his band seemed to be taking off.
She emptied out the remaining bags, placing the contents on the counter before filling the pot with the cream and putting it on the stove. She hummed a song as she waited for the cream to almost boil.
“What are you doing, anyway?”
“Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, I thought it would be nice to make some chocolates for Take,” Yayoi explained, and then as if the idea had just occurred to her she added, “I don’t suppose you’d like to make some as well?”
“For Take? Why would I?” Ritsuka frowned.
“No moron, for your friend. I mean boyfriend,” she quickly amended with a laugh, wincing when it came out brittle, “I bought plenty of ingredients. You know, in case I messed up.”
Ritsuka was studying her once again, his eyes narrowing in distrust. He went back to the chopping board, carefully scooping some of the chocolate into the bowl Yayoi had placed for that purpose before resuming his chopping.
“Please stop for a moment,” Yayoi pleaded, ignoring the pot for now as she watched her brother put the knife down and clench the edge of the counter tightly.
“I screwed up, okay? I know I did, and I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said those things to you,” Yayoi hugged her brother, ignoring the fact that he stiffened at her touch.
“Why not? You meant them,” Ritsuka snapped, letting some of his anger surface.
“I - I did, but I was wrong to say anything. And if I’m honest, I was mostly angry at Akihiko at the time. I couldn’t accept that he preferred another man to me,” she confessed. She might not have been consciously aware of it at the time, but her conversation with Haruki had convinced her of that fact.
“Look, it doesn’t matter what I think, or whether I understand your feelings or not. The only important thing is that you feel that way and that it makes you feel happy.”
Ritsuka hung his head, and she let go of him finally, knowing he wasn’t a massive fan of physical affection, at least not from her.
“Scared,” Ritsuka corrected, turning to look at her.
“What?”
“It makes me scared to feel this way,” Ritsuka admitted bluntly, “but also happy.”
Yayoi smiled, “I think I know how you feel, I get the feeling Take is a bit too good for me. But don’t tell him I said that.”
Ritsuka laughed, the first real one she’d heard in a while. “He is, actually,” he teased, “Way too good for the likes of you.”
“I want to understand, I really do,” Yayoi insisted, wanting Ritsuka to realize how important this was to her, how important he was to her.
“You should meet him then,” he invited, his eyes lighting up as he spoke about his boyfriend, “His name is Mafuyu. He’s a bit awkward and shy, and his guitar playing could use some work, but he uhm, well, he’s alright.”
Yayoi stared at him in wonder and burst into giggles.
“What’s so funny?” Rituska’s voice wavered, and she could hear the hurt closing in, threatening to ruin her efforts again.
“That might just be the most I’ve heard you say all at once, that’s all,” she replied, still giggling. “I definitely need to meet the guy who can make my little brother so chatty.”
Ritsuka shoved her playfully with his hips, and she felt contented, at peace. This was more like it.
“Does Mafuyu like chocolate?”
“Yeah, but maybe not these so much.”
“Are you insulting my chocolates?”
“No, but we’ll need to start over, the cream just boiled over,” Ritsuka pointed out, and Yayoi could see he was right.
“Shit!” she ran to the stove, pointedly ignoring her brother’s snickers and snide remarks about her cooking skills.
Ritsuka had already taken out a new pot and was pouring the cream into it, having read over the recipe while she cleaned up.
“I guess I’ll make some too, Mafuyu does have a sweet tooth,” he mentioned casually, even as he complained when he examined the molds she had bought, “Did it have to be hearts though? It’s so girly.”
“Says the guy who’s dating another guy,” Yayoi teased, snickering at the way Ritsuka stuck his tongue out at her.
“I might be gay, but I’m not a girl.”
It was said in a flippant tone, but Yayoi recognized it for what it was, a declaration. And maybe a test of sorts to see how she would react.
“Got it,” she replied with a smile, “and for the record, I like you just the way you are, even if you are a pain in my ass.”
Ritsuka rolled his eyes at her, but the return of his smile was everything she could have hoped for. She knew she hadn’t fixed everything, this was only a beginning, but she would do her best to be worthy of the second chance he’d given her.
A/N: I came up with this idea last night and it gripped me. I was once very close to my brother and I know this situation would have upset me greatly. We used to bond over making chocolate chip cookies and so I came up with this. I hope we get to see a similar conversation in the manga. Ritsuka deserves it. Hope you like it.

Hello! Good night/morning. You are such an amazing writer! Recently discovered your FFXV works and hooked for life! I saw that you posted more prompts and holy fluff you do Given too?! If you could find time to grant me a prompt I would be blessed by the writing gods! I would like "You've got me wrapped around your finger" with Uenoyama Ritsuka and Sato Mafuyu. Let's go with NSFW oh but they're so cute but at the same time I can see them being a little naughty, yet cute, yet naughty. Thanks
[Thank you for your ask anon! I am glad you like my FFXV works and thank you so much for the Given prompt! It was fun writing some Given stuff! Also, if you’re looking for a couple oneshots and an AU I’m working on in the Given fandom, check out the link to the masterlists of my completed fics and WiPs on my blog page. There are a couple on there with links to Ao3. :) I hope you enjoy this little oneshot!]
Tama barked at Uenoyama as he sat on the floor of Sato’s room, looking at the cute little ball of fluff. This wasn’t the first time he had been alone with Sato, but it was the first time in a long time since they started dating. Sato had tried to get some time alone with him outside of school, but between their studies and their music, it was hard to find the time to be alone. Now they had the chance, and Sato had no clue what to say. So he sat on the edge of the bed, looking at Uenoyama, trying not to blush at the thought of what it would be like to kiss his boyfriend. He had been with Yuki, but Uenoyama was a different person, someone he fell for differently than he loved Yuki. He wondered if his lips would taste so sweet right now.
“You’ve got my wrapped around your finger,” Uenoyama laughed as he played with Tama, petting the dog on his rump, making the small dog bark excitedly. Sato tried not to be jealous of his own dog, but it was difficult. He wanted to monopolize Uenoyama’s time when they were alone, knowing that he had little chance between them privately. Tama gave Uenoyama one last bark then walked towards the door, scratching to get out.
Sato got up and opened the door for him, thankful that Tama got tired of being in the room with them. It was like the dog was reading his mind. When he closed the door there was a sudden tension in the room. Uenoyama was very much aware that they were alone now, and Sato was wondering if perhaps Uenoyama wasn’t as interested in the things Sato was interested in while dating him. Was Sato weird for wanting to kiss and be held by his boyfriend so soon?
“I’d like to be wrapped around your finger,” Sato muttered to himself, thinking that Uenoyama didn’t hear him. When he turned around, he saw his boyfriend blushing, and he blushed bright red. “Ah… I mean…”
“Come here,” Uenoyama said as he held his arms open for him. Sato moved towards him in embarrassment, scared that he had said something wrong. When he was close enough, Uenoyama grabbed his hand and pulled him into his lap so that his back was pressed against his chest. Sato felt Uenoyama’s breath on his neck, making his hair stand on end. “I hope I didn’t make you jealous.”
“Not really,” Sato replied, their warm bodies pressed together making his heart race. How was Uenoyama so calm right now? He felt like his heart was beating a mile a minute. There was no way he could be so calm, right?
“It’s funny,” Uenoyama said with a laugh. His fingers laced with Sato’s, the warmth of it creating a sweet ache in Sato’s heart. “We’ve been dating for a while now, and I feel like I’m about to lose it just holding you like this.”
“I’m nervous too,” Sato admitted sheepishly, blushing deeply. He turned his head, craning his neck to see his boyfriend’s handsome features. “I’m glad we got to spend this time together.”
Uenoyama looked at him then looked down at his lips, like he was asking a question that only Sato could answer. Sato pressed his forehead against Uenoyama’s, his breath catching in his throat. Lips hovering inches from each other, hearts beating rapidly in sync, Sato waited until Uenoyama moved just ever so slightly closer. He pressed his lips against Uenoyama’s nervously, their lips like fire and ice all at once.
Sato thought that Uenoyama was going to stop kissing him, that it was only one kiss and that was it. He didn’t want it to be it. He wanted to keep kissing him until he couldn’t kiss him anymore. Uenoyama seemed to want the same thing. His tongue grazed Sato’s, sending a shiver of delight and fire that reached from his lips to his loins, his body aching and crazing more. Uenoyama’s hands were still holding his as their tongues danced, and Sato pressed into his boyfriend’s chest more, their kiss deepening further and further.
Uenoyama released his hands but didn’t let his lips go. Sato was going to reach around and wrap his arms around his boyfriend, but Uenoyama’s hands slid up his inner thighs, sending a shock of electricity through him that instantly made him hard. It was embarrassing, but at the same time exciting, especially when he felt Uenoyama’s hard member straining against his pants and pressing into his back. Uenoyama unzipped Sato’s pants as their tongues continued to caress each other, his hand reaching into his pants.
Sato let out a whimper into Uenoyama’s mouth as Uenoyama tugged on his boxers and pulls out his hard member, gripping it firmly with his thumb on the tip. Hungrily, he pressed his lips harder against Uenoyama’s as he began to stroke it, his moans muffled by the sound of his tongue. There was a sweet ache that made his back arch, a jolt of electricity pulsating in him each time Uenoyama stroked down to the base and back.
“Ah- Uenoyama,” Sato moaned as he pulled away from the kiss, the pleasure drawing him away from his boyfriend’s lips. He faced forward, his hands gripping Uenoyama’s legs as he tried to find a way to stay grounded through the jolt of pleasure coursing through him repeatedly. “Nngh- ah…”
Uenoyama moved his hand along his shaft faster, Sato moaning breathlessly into each stroke. The pleasure was mounting more as Uenoyama’s stroked him faster, a building pressure in his thighs and member growing. It was a desire to climax, an overwhelming desire to have Uenoyama touch him more and more until he was completely spent. It took hold of him, making his moans longer and more desperate as Uenoyama pumped his cock harder and faster yet.
“Uenoyama,” Sato moaned, knowing that he was so close. “More… Nngh… Ahh-”
He came into his boyfriend’s touch, his fluids spilling out onto Uenoyama’s hand. Panting, breathless, his heart racing, he blushed bright red when he saw Uenoyama’s dirty hand pull away carefully so that it didn’t get on their clothes. It was embarrassing to see it, but his body was alight with the satisfaction that only came with climaxing, like he was drunk from a glass of wine without the impairment.
“S-sorry,” Sato said quietly. He quickly got off of Uenoyama, reaching for the tissues on his desk.
“Don’t be,” Uenoyama replied. He held up his dirty hand and laughed. “I guess you can say you’re wrapped around my finger, huh?”
Sato blushed brighter when he understood the pun. Why was it that he got Uenoyama’s meaning only when it was embarrassing to him? A moment later, Uenoyama kissed him, taking away his worries and embarrassment immediately. There were worse things than for the two of them to be wrapped around each other’s fingers, woven together like the threads of fate and bound them together completely.
