katsuki blames the alcohol for making him stupid.

really stupid.

not that he's had a lot, but his tolerance is low for a guy of his size, and he can feel the edges of his inhibitions dulling with every drink of whatever denki has shoved in his hand. it doesn't taste like absolute shit, which is rare enough to have him indulging, just a bit, for the agency halloween party.

another sip has his head feeling a little swimmy, and before he knows it, his eyes are trailing across the room until they find you. again.

whatever the hell you're supposed to be tonight—a witch, or something else in a pointy hat—is really fucking with him, and has since you walked in. the costume isn't revealing in a sense that it's inappropriate for a work event, but it's...hugging you in all the right places. in every single one of them.

without tights, it would be on the too-short side, but—and no, katsuki can't fucking explain this—something about them is making everything worse. and your calf-high boots ain't helping, either.

it's just—your fucking—hips.

katsuki couldn't tell you what song is playing, but you're swaying back and forth to the tune and one of his canines digs into the plastic of his cup, so deeply that it makes a terrible creaking sound and dents beneath the pressure—and that's when a sharp elbow is delivered to the center of his chest.

mina is at his side when he looks, and her wide, freaky eyes scan his face before narrowing in her little shit-eating way.

"you're a pig."

katsuki chokes, and the little freak takes that as an admission of some kind.

"oh my god," she gasps, mouth falling in all her disgust and awe. "you can't even deny it!" and then she laughs, high and chirpy, and there's no way you can't hear her. "oh, you're down bad."

"cram it," he snaps, sinking his scowl into his cup. "i dunno what the hell you're talkin' about."

"you know i really thought better of you," mina sniffs effectively, turning her face up and away. "not the type to be blantly checking out somebody's ass."

katsuki bristles, and his aggrivation growns until the plastic in his hands starts to melt. "i wasn't—"

"i'm kidding!" mina snorts before flicking him in the nose, narrowly dodging the hand he swipes out at her. "quit being a baby and go shoot your shot already."

"piss. off."

but the hero is unaffected by him, simply scrunching up her face in response before turning on her heel to disappear further into the party.

she's wrong, katsuki thinks, because he's not a pig like sero or fucking dunce face or even kirishima, from time to time, who gets red in the face over a low cut shirt and a pair of tits.

fucking ridiculous, katsuki thinks, because he's way better than that.

it's just—the alcohol. that's making his lids heavy and his thoughts dark and his face hot. has him peeking at you over the lip of his cup, has him picturing you in his head when he's forced to look away.

and, well, maybe, the short cut of your dress has a little something to do with it, too—but he's keeping that shit to himself.

Doctor Midas’ Disquisition: Prolegomenon

   As seen to on the night of October 17th, 2024, at 20:40, I acquired a specimen of large interest. (Now known to me as the Lepirkian race.)

    It was a swift procedure of obtainment: I simply followed the target to a secluded space, then aimed a taser at his neck. (I’ve found that Lepirkians are easily incapacitated by electricity. Individual was unconscious almost instantly.) I approached with stealth and speed, however I was still detected by the specimen. His reaction time was impressive, but I was faster. (This is most likely due to the individual’s plumose antennae, which sense vibrations in the air. Further research have yet to be conducted on this attribute.)

Specimen Name: “Talisman”

Gender: Male

Height: 6 feet, 3 inches (190.5 centimeters)

Family and/or affiliated group:   Hepia Lepirkian Tribe

Specimen seems to have the closest resemblance to Tolype velleda, or the large tolype moth. Wing patterns are near identical, along with a substantial amount of fur-like scales located on his neck. 

Legs are bipedal, much like humans; however they take on a lightly curved and almost digitigrade appearance. 

Arms take on a humanoid form, albeit a few inches longer than the average person. Lepirkian hands are five-fingered and clawed. As observed on the specimen, Talisman, hands seem to fade into a black color at the fingertips. 

I have recovered a small sample of the  Lepirkian’s wing. Next, I plan to obtain a blood sample. (Wing procedure was painless and will not hinder his ability to fly in the future. Although, specimen was visibly distressed. I recognize that there were likely better, less upsetting ways to obtain wing sample, and I will try to avoid such outcomes down the line.)

Sample was observed under a compound microscope, and the results were fascinating. The wing scales showed clear similarities to smaller moth counterparts- although the scales themselves were more resistant and durable than a usual moth’s.

Hopefully I will learn the secrets of these creature’s near-immortal lives. It’s pivotal that I keep the Lepirkian specimen alive, as he is the only source of information I have. I’m in uncharted territory, and every bit of knowledge will count towards something greater.

Do any of us know how mind got the mechanical hands??

Like. His voice mod I kinda get. He was shot n needed a way to speak. But. What happened for him to get mechanical hands too?

For the ppl that headcannon mind is/always was a automaton I kinda understand, like being fully made of metal and all, but to yall (or if there even is anyone) with non all-robot mind designs w inspo from the mechanical hands, do you guys have any headcannons/ backstories as to why he has em?

My hc is that with all the fighting and destructiveness of heart, at some point mind’s body wasn’t really healing the areas that he got hurt as well OR he got tired of physically feeling the hits.

So eventually, he designed himself either wearable mechanical gloves/coverings. Or like… bone drilled in prosthetics. Or somthing idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It being on his hands n arms would also kinda work out bc if ur blocking urself from an attack the easiest thing to use is your arms and hands. And with it being metal, I’d imagine it wouldn’t hurt nearly as bad. So it’d help with protection too.

Only downside would be that he couldn’t feel/ touch anything anymore. He has these new prosthetics but the hands have the most touch receptors. he can’t feel the softness of his pillow or the fragility of a small animal. And eventually, whether he can take it off but won’t, or if he just can’t at all… even the feeling of holding a loved one’s hand eventually becomes alien to him.

But he didn’t worry that much. It’s just touch. And how bad could losing touch be.

by the end of adapting to it, he accepts the fact he just won’t feel things physically anymore. Learning from muscle memory how much pressure to hold things without breaking them. How to act like he can feel things so others won’t point it out when he’s in public.

Soul and heart, might not even know that mind can’t feel things anymore. They just notice him starting to act more repelled to physical touch as a whole. It annoys heart(bc no cuddles ): ) and worried soul but no one says anything about it anymore. Because whenever it’s mentioned mind just shuts the conversation down immediately. Because, he dosnt want the other’s help. He’s “completely fine” like this and why would he need to undo something he spent months working on??

No, he’s decided to die on that hill. Even though he might be denying his own need for touch and physical affection, and even falling into a unnoticed depression bc it. he did this himself and he’s going to stick with it… all while ignoring any and all downsides whatsoever. Making it near impossible to consider he might be better off without them.

Bc at the end of the day it’s just touch. And how bad could losing touch be?

I’m just throwing stuff at the wall here I might update it if I think of anything new feel free to just take this idea completely it’s just somthin’ to think bout
