Hola, me encanta la forma en que escribes y representas a Sans con cada detalle, me preguntaba si podrias hacer un oneshot de Sans declarandose o diciendo sus sentimientos por su pareja.
Hello, I love the way you write and represent Sans with every detail, I was wondering if you could do a oneshot of Sans proposing or saying his feelings for his partner
Hey! Of course I can write that! Last night I rewatched the notebook, and I did take some inspiration from the proposal scene in there and muddled it in this. I chose to go down the proposal/engagement route, hope you enjoy :3
“so, babe.” Sans sunk on the couch next to you, immediately cozying up to your arm and sighing. “i was thinking.”
You snorted, your eyes still locked on the TV. “That’s rare.”
The TV had on some random movie that you found when you browsed through your streaming channels and decided to click on, which in the current scene displayed a woman trying on several different dresses, all of them varying drastically with how they looked on her, but her boyfriend who was watching was simply cheering her on and gushing over how pretty she looked in each one none the less.
Sans propped his feet up onto the coffee table, his pink slippers riding up on his feet a bit due to the sudden surface, and you mentally groaned in annoyance with how many times you had explicitly asked him to not put his feet onto the coffee table and to use one of the crushed footstools instead. You chose to skim over the chiding right now though.
“gee, thanks. you’re a charmer.” Sans snuck the arm that was pressed against yours around your waist instead, leaning in closer to try and grab your attention. “i was thinking.”
Finally giving into his antics, you tore your gaze away from the TV and looked down at him, seeing the enamored look in his pinpricks that he was giving you. It was so hard to not gush all over him whenever he looked at you like this.
“What are you thinking about, baby?” You questioned, deciding to humor him in the meantime.
Sans’ permanent grin only twinged upwards a bit more, and you knew that he was genuinely happy asked. “when we go out tonight, i was thinking that we dress nice.”
Oh? Sans? Dressing nice? This was almost unheard of, the only time you’ve ever seen him dress nice was whenever you both went out to a fancy Valentine’s Day dinner earlier this February, and he wore a nice, black tux that you’d be lying if you said didn’t make you feel a certain type of way.
“Dress nice? To Grillby’s?” You questioned his words, tracing lazy circles onto his shoulder bone through his jacket with your hand that you had already snuck around his back. “I don’t mean this in the way that I don’t want to see you in a tux again, but I’m not sure if Grillby’s is the best place for formal attire.”
Sans gave a so-so expression that let you know while he acknowledged your statement, he had already thought about that and he didn’t really care. “so? just humor me for one night, babe. will you?”
You genuinely debated it for a little bit. It had been a bit since you had dressed up nice and felt good in a sleek outfit, but you also weren’t sure about getting grease from the food all over your clothes.
But… You looked at his pinpricks, seeing how wide they were, filled with nothing but love in his gaze, and you couldn’t help but give in.
“Fine.” You gave in to what he wanted, giving his shoulder a loving pat. “You win. We can dress nice tonight.”
Sans sighed and practically deflated in relief when you gave into him, which surprised you a bit- you didn’t see why dressing nice was so important to him right now, - but he slinked his arm out from behind you and let himself melt onto your lap, his skull going right onto your legs and one of his arms hanging off the couch as he mumbled a small ‘thank you’.
So, you got ready. When he finally inflated himself back off your lap with several nudges from you to try and get him up, you both went upstairs to get dressed. You pulled on a nice, sleek black dress that went out to your ankles, hugging your skin tight before the ends flared a bit to give it some spark.
Sans wore the same tux you saw him in when you went out for Valentine’s Day several months ago, and you couldn’t help but ogle at him again, and you knew by the way you both looked at each other when you had both finished getting dressed that you both couldn’t wait to tear off the others outfit, but granted, that had to wait until after dinner.
It was important to the both of you to not be too lazy despite both of your love for staying inside the house and relaxing, you both wanted to still keep the romantic spark alive between you and it was important to get out of the house besides work, so you always tried to go out on a date once a week.
Sometimes it was just easy, mindless dates you had done countless times. Walking around the city and drinking overpriced coffee as you both talked about useless but entertaining things, going to the movies together only to be uninterested in what you were watching and end up throwing popcorn at each other most of the time, and the classic going to Grillby’s and enjoying each others company outside of the house.
Other times, usually once every few months (of course, not including any birthday dinners with your mutual friends or celebrations), you both went out on a fancy dinner date. You felt like it was important for both of you to keep exploring different dates and things to do together, and it was always a great side of each other to see when you went out somewhere nice and fancy with items on the menu that were half of your weekly paycheck.
“close your eyes.” Sans told you, stepping to you in your shared bedroom after you both had spent several seconds just staring at each other when you came out from the bathroom all dolled up and ready to go. “i don’t want you to see anything yet.”
You titled your head to the side in slight confusion, half worried he was going to pull a prank on you. “Sans, what nefarious things are you planning?”
“it’s not another prank, baby, i swear.” Sans held out his hand for you to grab, intertwining your fingers together when you did so. “just close your eyes before i zip us away.”
Well, he clearly wasn’t going to give up on it. You sighed and closed your eyes, feeling his ungloved hand tighten around yours before you felt the familiar, weightless feeling for a millisecond, ending quickly when your feet touched the ground.
Hm. It was quiet. You heard light chatter in the background, and soft, jazz music playing off in the distance somewhere.
Sans began to tug your hand gently, leading you to follow after him. “don’t open your eyes yet, i won’t let you bump into anything.”
“Sans…” You entertained his shenanigans and followed where he tugged you before he came to a stop, letting go of your hand.
“okay, you can look,” Sans told you, and you swear you could hear some… pride. In his voice.
You opened your eyes and immediately noticed that you were not in Grillby’s. It was a nice restaurant, with couples and families at every table all mingling and laughing quietly with each other. You looked down at the table that Sans pulled you next to, and a smile worked its way to curve up onto your lips as you noticed the rose petals around the table and on the white tablecloth, the red petals bordering the candles, and both of your plates.
“Sans, you did this?” You asked the obvious, knowing that he did this. “What’s the occasion?”
Sans snorted unpleasantly, rolling his pinpricks. “no occasion, i just thought it would be nice to take you somewhere.”
“I love it. Thank you.” You told him, giving him a quick- but loving- kiss when you sat down in your chair.
Sans walked around the table, a small blue blush twinged on his nasal bridge (he always got it when you two kissed, it was cute) as he looked at you when he sat down, instantly striking up his silly chatter and discussing what you both wanted to order.
As the night went on, and you both joked and laughed like normal, a still, but comfortable silence came over the both of you. Sans took the moment as an opportunity to say something else, and you noticed how he brought his hands down to his lap under the table.
“so, i may have lied.” Sans started with you, some sweat building up on his skull.
You raised an eyebrow, curious as to what he’s lied about. “Oh? Are you planning to pull a prank?”
Sans awkwardly laughed, shaking his head ‘no’. “uh, no. not this time, i swear. uhm…”
Clearly, he was nervous.
It made you just a smidge worried, and you hoped that everything was okay with him. “Sans?”
“i’ve been thinking about a lot of reasons why you shouldn’t marry me.” Interesting start.
Instantly, you laughed, finding the sudden statement funny. You knew that Sans knew that you both wanted to get married, this was something you had both already discussed beforehand in your relationship due to public issues with Monster and Human relationships.
“Okay, go on.” You were intrigued on why exactly you shouldn’t marry the love of your life.
“well,” Sans began, his voice shaky. “we are lazy together, this ends up with us having nights of relaxation and long conversations.”
You nodded. “That’s true.”
“and your mom likes me, so that would be bad if anything ever happened to us.” Second reason.
Hm. That didn’t sound like a bad thing, what was wrong with your mom liking Sans, isn’t that good?
“you get along with my brother super well, and all of our friends care for us. and we already live together, so we wouldn’t have the amazing experience of buying a new house.”
Where was he going with this?
You giggled quietly, fiddling with your hands in your lap and glancing down at your empty plate. “None of this sounds bad.”
“it isn’t.” Sans agreed with you. “you know what? i think you should just marry me.”
You almost laughed again, thinking this was another one of his silly gush moments where he rambled on about how he loved you, but instead, he pulled out a ring that he held by the silver band of it between his pointer and thumb finger.
Dumbfounded, you stared blankly at the ring he was holding, having a hard time believing that it was real. He was actually proposing to you?
“You’re serious?!” You asked, a wide smile springing onto your face.
Sans didn’t even give you a stupid look for your question, understanding that it was a surprise to you. “yeah, i hope my question is ‘ringing’ in -“
You cut him off, quickly standing up out of your seat and nearly diving over to him to wrap him in a hug, almost knocking him out of his seat. “Of course, I’ll marry you!”
In the background, you swore that you heard clapping, signaling that the proposal had been noticed, but you were too busy gushing and kissing over your now fiancé as he slipped the ring onto your finger to even notice.

Tagged by my love @disasterbuckdiaz (with a super hot snippet) @daffi-990 (with a whole lotta feels) @tizniz (with a super cute new fic 🦖) @buddierights (with a sweet fic of V-day past) thank you lovelies 💖
Today I bring you two snippets because Fuck It, amirite??? The first is because I was rewatching Fellow Travelers last night and a moment in Episode 2 hit me like a freight train.
But then the skit starts.
Caroline and Carlos, dressed in a suit and skirt respectively, playing as a couple having dinner at home. Caroline sits at a small table while Carlos stirs an empty pot of imaginary soup.
Even though it’s all pretend, the whole scene is so terribly, achingly domestic. A reminder of an unattainable dream. Within seconds Tim feels as though he is submerged, drowning in heartache. It fills his lungs, taking up precious space where air should be. Every silently jagged breath burns as he tries to take in oxygen, but only receives more pain. He doesn’t know how he’s not making a spectacle of himself, attracting attention to the way his heart cracks, just short of breaking completely.
It is a relief when Carlos approaches him, holding out the wooden soup spoon. The gesture is silly but provides a much needed reprieve. Tim finds it in himself to be able to laugh again as he’s fed the invisible offering. A bright feeling that bursts forth, genuinely happy as it displaces his gloominess.
When Carlos and Caroline have bickered and teased their way to the ending, they bow and curtsy as the group claps and cheers. Some even call for an encore. Instead Caroline insists Mary put a record on so everyone can dance.
A lesser version of Tim’s earlier distress settles over him like a thick fog. It blankets him in loneliness while he watches Mary and her lover sway to the music, holding each other close with their cheeks pressed together.
Snippet #2 is noticeably more zesty (any guesses from the banner???) but with no fewer feels. Find a bit of honey, when you call my name under the cut 😏 Hoping this one will be posted very soon.
“You okay?” Buck’s face is etched with such concern and care it makes Eddie’s chest tight. A squeezing around his heart that makes him wish he could pull it from behind his ribcage. To clutch it in his palms while he shows off all the places Buck’s mended and healed for him. A way to prove that Eddie is more than okay, and only improving as they continue to intertwine their lives together.
“Yeah, baby. I’m good.” Eddie lifts his head, angling his neck so he can kiss Buck again. He pours all of his gratitude and overwhelm into it, hoping the message is clear. That their unique brand of silent communication applies here as well.
It must because Buck continues to slide in, albeit slowly. He goes inch by inch, periodically checking in with a questioning look that Eddie returns with a small nod until Buck’s fully seated. And it feels… unusual. Not in a bad way, but an altogether different sensation than the times he’s fucked himself with his fingers or a toy. Of course it would be, because it’s Buck. It’s novel and precious and life changing. An event that Eddie would scribble in his diary if he had one. But at the same time — it’s Buck. So it’s also an inevitable homecoming, like being able to finally set down his burdens and breathe a sigh of relief.
“So good, Buck,” Eddie tells him before the question can be asked, because he knows it will be. He can see it in the infinite blue staring back at him, sparkling with affection and love.
Buck dips his head down, brushing their noses together, and Eddie doesn’t miss how bright, sunny blue turns darker, like dusky twilight.
“Gonna move as soon as you say so,” Buck murmurs against his lips. “‘ve wanted to fuck you for so long.”
Eddie’s belly swoops and his muscles clench in anticipation. Because it’s a two way street and this has been years in the making for both of them.
“Oh, yeah?” Before Buck can answer he tacks on, “Do it then. You’re not the only one waiting here, y’know.”
He’s rewarded with a mischievous smirk just before he feels Buck pull back. A moan — closer to a growl — rips out of him when Buck thrusts forward again, making him feel so, so full and whole. Complete.

I remember you saying you liked young justice so I wanted to know who's your favourite character or the one you think is most like you? I've been attached by the hip to this show since I was 13 so I'm a little... not normal about it lol.
also opinions on s3?
YES oh my god it was like formative media for me genuinely and i still love yj dearly i was rewatching it like last month actually along with yaboyroshi's reactions to it 😅 we are both a little not normal about this show dw 🤝🏼 im putting the rest of this under a cut because i start Yapping
my fave characters were dick, artemis, jaime, bart, and zatanna! dick i was Obsessed with from the moment i laid eyes on him in hindsight for gender reasons, probably but artemis always meant a huge deal to me as a kid because she was like the only vietnamese character (and with a skintone like mine!) that i'd ever seen on a screen. i loved everything about jaime's character and personality and arc and i had a really soft spot for bart because characters who are very outwardly upbeat and fun but are going through a lot of shit and hiding it are my favourites ever usually 😅. i also liked rlly them as a duo. zatanna's sort of cool-girl sass was always really fun to see and i think especially in s4 where her sort of less-rigid morality had more room to shine, really made me appreciate her character more. OH also when they introduced cassandra wu-san/orphan in s3 i like literally cheered out loud 😭 shes one of my fave characters from dc comics in general, so i was already biased towards her and i really liked her depiction and the room they made for her arc
i'm actually not sure which character is the most like me... i think because i watched it so young a lot of the characters kind of made their way into my personality in one way or another. i think irl im most like dick but it could be wishful thinking 😅 i'm not as cool as he is for sure
season three.... i'm kind of on the fence about it? i will say though i think it was a little rough with the dialogue especially, and i definitely didn't bond as well with the outsiders as i did with the original team and then the s2 cast. violet was the most likeable of the group by far but i think i was really put off by the fact that they kept killing them 💀 like i get that you guys can do this now with the higher rating but there are better ways to show off your newfound creative freedom than repeatedly brutally killing them. it was offset with the majority of the other characters suffering from basically no visible injuries too- if they'd been hit with bruises or scrapes or broken bones or ANYTHING and reduced the harm dealt to vi then i would've been less urgh by it.
i also wish they'd introduced victor a bit earlier into the season instead of spending sooo much time with brion because cyborg's story felt a little tacked on at the end, and um i was annoyed by brion from the jump 😭😭 tried so hard to sympathise with him because to be fair he went through a Lot but he just kept being such an aggressive ass to like everyone. which i guess was the point.. didn't make it any more fun to watch though.
i do like that they kept with the huge mass of entangled threads of the plot that were to me the hallmarks of the earlier seasons, picking apart scenes to try and work out how things interconnect was always my favourite part. i think the cast of the show at this point for what they were trying to do and focus on may have exceeded the show's bounds though- it was still a compelling narrative but i imagine for a casual watcher who isnt as meticulously invested in who is who and can recognise adaptations of arcs from the comics it can get very confusing or frustrating. its hard because i Love the og cast too but i think with s3 they couldn't decide on letting them go or letting their new characters shine and it ended up muddying the waters a bit, with the outsiders suffering the most from it due to no nostalgia or prior narrative heft to keep them from looking secondary to the original members of the team.
with s4 they chose to throw their lot behind the old team, which i appreciated and it neatened the rough edges of the show more, but i do still miss the s2 cast quite badly so i actually kind of wish they'd kept expanding the cast but just narrowed focus onto the new characters for every season. the title of the show is young justice, so i personally would've liked to keep seeing a focus on the newer and rising heroes of each successive generation as opposed to returning again and again to the originals
sorry that this is such a wall of text 😅 but i think this is one of the shows that i could genuinely just like sit and talk about for ages and ages... even the characters i dont like at all have a fair amount of gravity and heft to them that i love. wally is still alive btw i will never stop believing 😤 get that man out of the speed force!
#sorry that i talked so much here ive been losing my mind to assignment stress all day so writing about something i actually give a rats ass#about is such an. air being let out of a balloon noise moment idk im tiiired but we move 😤#ask#reply#bonneblah#TYSM FOR THIS BY THE WAY! slightly off topic but i was making the og team in cas the other day but i never finished 🤔🤔 I SHOULD FINISH

I finished watching through DS9 a few weeks ago and I’ve been meaning to do a rundown of my thoughts on it. Here goes:
- Oh my god that was fantastic. I really wish it’s given it a fair shake back when it was on the air; I was a dumb teenager who resented it for not being TNG and was going through a weird self-loathing phase where I didn’t want to admit to myself that I was the massive nerd that I am. This seriously lived up to the hype. I may have to do a TNG rewatch because this might just have upstaged it as my favorite 90s Trek.
- Andrew Robinson should’ve been made a full cast member. Ditto Max Grodenchik and Aaron Eisenberg.
- Damar’s transmission at the end of The Changing Face of Evil lives rent-free in my head. I cheered out loud at that.
- One thing the show did fantastically that a lot of other SF/fantasy properties don’t quite get right is that it lands a pitch-perfect balance of “these characters are major, important figures in the larger multinational conflict” and “this conflict is absolutely massive and not everything revolves around the same small group of people.” The fact that Sisko, Worf, Kira, Odo, et al are so important is entirely plausible and it never feels like the writers are trying to gratuitously bring everything back to them.
- That said, I kind of love that Admiral Ross’s leadership approach during the Dominion War eventually consists of doing whatever the hell Sisko tells him to do.
- God, the acting was incredible. Andrew Robinson, Armin Shimerman, Nana Visitor, Marc Alaimo, and Louise Fletcher were real standouts, but everyone was just so damned good.
- Actually, I really need to give special mention to Shimerman. The man went above and beyond to make Quark be something more than a joke character, despite how obvious it was that basically the entire production team wanted him to just be cartoonish comic relief. He worked harder to flesh out his character and show his race as a race of *people* (not just caricatures) than just about any actor playing an alien on Star Trek before him except for maybe Nimoy. Give the man a goddamn Emmy. Don’t believe me? Go rewatch the iconic root beer scene from The Way of the Warrior.
That said: I do have a few criticisms:
- Pretty much all of the (canon) romantic subplots were just…yikes. The only major exception I can think of Sisko/Yates, where they actually seemed to have a healthy dynamic, fall legitimately in love with each other, and generally treat each other like adults in a serious relationship, not bickering teenagers.
- Seriously, Worf/Jadzia got so hard to watch and then the fallout with Ezri was just ugggghhhhhhhhh stop please for the love of god
- Why did the writers need to try to romantically pair off all the female characters? Just, why?
- Kira had more sexual tension with that Romulan lady in half an episode than she did with any of her bucket-of-paint boyfriends over the course of seven years.
- I totally get the behind-the-seasons reasons why things panned out the way they did, but (hot take) I think Dax’s whole arc would’ve worked better if they had killed Jadzia off after the first season or two and brought in Ezri earlier. Jadzia was fun, but she was just too perfect to get many interesting stories and her relationship with Worf felt too much like manufactured drama. Having a trill who didn’t want to be joined, agreed to in a life or death emergency situation, and now has to reckon not only with taking on this symbiotic relationship with no preparation whatsoever but also succeeding this beloved person in the eyes of her loved ones is such a better setup for a character and it’s a pity we didn’t get to see that play out properly.
- Sisko deserved a better conclusion to his story. Give the man his damned house on Bajor and let him raise his kid with Kasidy. He’s more than earned it.
- Next time I rewatch the series, I’m skipping the mirror universe episodes and the ones with the genetically enhanced walking-90s-neurodivergent-stereotypes.
Other random thoughts:
- Dukat’s storyline should’ve ended with him getting killed at the end of Waltz. Either by Sisko, or by deluding himself so thoroughly that he does something suicidal. The pah-wraiths subplot felt like a lazy afterthought (except for the episode where he pretends to be Bajoran and starts fucking Kai Winn) and as much as I liked watching Marc Alaimo act, his story arc was basically over at the end of Sacrifice of Angels….which, incidentally is when Damar actually starts to get interesting.
- I loved the O’Brien must suffer episodes but I thought Hard Time was kind of overrated. Mostly for the plot line with the cellmate; I think I’m a little burned out on seeing stories that have a moral of “deep inside us is a line between humanity and savagery and when pushed to the limit, even the best of us would turn to murder.” It’s been done to death, and it’s really not truthful, at least for many people.
- I think I may have a little bit of a crush on Major Kira. It would never work out if I met someone like that in real life, though. I’m a laid-back, atheist, creative type; she’s a deeply devout former insurgent. Given certain real-life crushes I’ve had recently; maybe I’m just into strong women with big, expressive eyes who wear their hearts on their sleeve and have a spine made of fuckin’ steel. I have no idea what this says about me.
- MORN
- Favorite Episodes: In the Pale Moonlight, The Visitor, Improbable Cause/The Die is Cast, In Purgatory’s Shadow/By Inferno’s Light, In the Cards, Duet, The Wire, Civil Defense, The Magnificent Ferengi, basically the entire Dominion War arc.

Earlier I was thinking about Sandra to distract from being sad about Teddy but then I rewatched her and Andy’s scenes from the Shades of Love/Cry for Help/Anaconda/Lifelines set of episodes and now I’m sad about her too.
They foreshadowed her death the episode before, they bring in a young woman who dies (killed by her boyfriend's wife) and she gets very stuck on it and tells Andy that she's wondering whether she'd leave behind anything worth remembering about her. Cry for Help says that 'yes, there are things worth remembering about Sandra Mute' but Anaconda and Lifelines follow that with 'it's easier for the people who knew her to keep going if they choose not to remember'. People are already moving on in Anaconda. By the goodbye party for Andy at the end of Lifelines, she's been forgotten.
The main person who remembers her in those episodes is Andy but she's remembered in faceless young women he doesn't have it in him to treat because they all look like Sandra to him. Even he's moving on, he just has to choose to, while everyone else seems to be able to do it naturally. He chooses to leave the job, he chooses to try and fix things with his wife again. There's a really sad moment after her memorial where he just stands outside the church, looking at the ambulance station while all the other paramedics go back to work.
Another moment that got me after the memorial is when Duffy asks Susie to go shopping to cheer them up - Sandra had been their friend and now they will have to get on with the rest of their lives and she can't.
When people do remember her so much of it is about her relationship with Andy, which she had finally decided she didn't want anymore right before she was stabbed :( At the same time, I can't stop thinking about how the first thing we ever see Andy say to his wife is "darling" and then, for the first and only time, he also says it to Sandra while they're bringing her into the hospital (but she's already unconscious by then).
Sandra had to die, not even because the plot demanded it, just... Casualty required it to keep things moving. I don't think it's entirely her death that allowed Casualty to last longer than two series, the writing did start to get better around when she died and that's definitely the main thing that kept it going. But her death was a sign of that good writing - Cry for Help's Sandra/Andy scenes are entirely brilliant, 'Casualty at it's best' scenes. She had to die, but it's still so sad to me how quickly she disappeared.
Ugh, Casualty, stop making me miserable with your paramedics.

Ultimately, I'm still happy with Arcane s2, and I know there's no way they could have fleshed everything out in 9 episodes. But I'm kinda bitter about Jinx's ending and Jayce. (I'm like 2 weeks behind, does any of this count as spoilers anymore? Spoilers below, I guess)
I didn't really have any stake in the ships presented, I just went "oh?????" and cheered tbh. So when it looked like Jayce and Viktor were a whole thing, it was that, but after sleeping on it, it feels like Jayce came back very single-minded? He and Mel were a whole thing in s1??? But he comes back and he doesn't even seem to notice that she's changed. At first, he didn't even seem to care? I wish we got a better look at his psyche because we know he went through a lot and came back with a huge responsibility, and also seemed to harbor some doubts towards her. But does that mean there just was no trust between them in the first place even though she took chances on him and supported him earlier? I think I remember thinking he was a bit of a tool in s1, but I don't know if this is the same or different. It just feels like they went from being important to each other to distant business partners?
JINX SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN TO SAY GOODBYE!!!! Even FRODO went to a whole nother place but still said GOODBYE to his loved ones first. It's so cruel to have Vi reunited with her family and actually see the goodness in her sister come back only to lose them both again. Ekko has lost SO MUCH, and at least Vi has someone near her (maybe 2 people since the big guy lived??) who can be there for her. Who's gonna be there for HIM!!!! How much did he and Vi really connect??? He has the big Firelight guy, but that last scene of him so alone and distanced from EVERYONE fucking HURTS, MAN!!! I feel like Jinx could go off on her own and "break the cycle" while also leave her loved ones knowing she's ALIVE instead of SUFFERING! It doesn't have much weight as a cliffhanger or anything similar if her story is 'wrapped up'. I do understand Cait not saying anything though. I didn't even get why everyone was saying Jinx survived until I read an article. If Cait didn't actually see Jinx survive, it'd feel cruel to tell Vi, "hey I think she's still alive!" No proof. No chance of finding her. Just Vi once again in an emotional spiral chasing after her sister...... that seems like torture.
Idk I think a few more episodes would have been nice to handle some things more neatly. I'm hoping the other projects will answer some questions about Jinx and Ekko, and also about Zaun. I'll probably rewatch the whole thing again at some point. I still think s2 was absolutely amazing. The animation alone left me dumbstruck
#still up there with spider-verse for me#arcane s2#arcane spoilers#blah blah text post#this isn't really critical???? just thoughts

(tags from @wounded-hands on my post about spn backing down from god as an abusive father. hope you don't mind me using this as a jumping off point.)
BUT YEAH! YEAH EXACTLY!
This (among other reasons) is exactly why I fully have not finished the Lucifer tv show, despite the fact that I loved the first few seasons so much. But those first few seasons were not pulling their punches about this fact! They looked you in the eye and went "Lucifer is severely fucked up because of what God did to him" and for a while, they didn't back down from that!
Whether I ever go back and watch the show again or not, I know that two scenes are always going to stick in my head forever. The scene of Chloe seeing the wing scars for the first time (we the audience know that the scars are self-inflicted (but given how he cut his wings off specifically to separate himself from God, it's still connected to his abuse) but Chloe assumes that his dad did that to him. And the way Lucifer reacts, immediately defensive and trying to get attention away from them...!!!), and the scene of Linda, prompted by Amenadiel, cornering Lucifer in a therapy session, telling him that God actually loved him. (And for me specifically, the very trans-coded subtext of that scene being that she's! She's literally deadnaming him! And he reacts Violently!!!! Before just fleeing!!!!)
Not to mention, later, the extreme distress he feels at the idea that his dad forced his wings back on him against his will, or how Chloe was literally created to fill a love interest role for him. Lucifer loses more and more autonomy as the show goes on, and it's almost like we're just meant to?? ignore that??? accept that he's not in control of what's happening to him and that his dad meddled with his life and love just because he'll be happy if he's with Chloe. (This is a horror story!!!!!!!!!!)
(His wings, if I remember correctly, turned out to be His Own Fault Actually. which. I think that was the turning point for when the show started placing the blame on Lucifer (for overreacting. for not shutting up and accepting these gifts. etc. etc.) rather than actually exploring God's role as an abusive father.)
(Sidenote here, I'm focusing on Lucifer, but this problem obviously began to affect Amenadiel, too, as the show went on. Like, he's clearly suffering under the weight of the same abuse + expectations of God in the earlier seasons, but. I'd probably have to rewatch the show to break down his part in it. Which I don't want to do. Because the show turned on me >:(. )
And then when God does show up on the show.
I can't even.
My problems with this can roughly be summed up in one scene. During that episode where God is following Lucifer around, and I can't remember exactly, they run into some people, and God starts reminiscing about the past. And he describes Lucifer's rebellion (the thing that got him thrown into Hell! the thing that has been a source of trauma for seasons! a very very serious fucking thing!) as Lucifer basically throwing a tantrum.
And this could be so good. This could be so good, if the show was using this moment to portray how God has twisted up the events, even to himself, to make all of this Lucifer's fault, to make it seem like Lucifer's trauma isn't actually that bad. But I really don't feel like that was the point of that moment. It felt like the show was siding with him. Telling us that Lucifer's issues with God weren't actually that bad. Should be forgiven and not thought of any longer.
The worst part is that this could have gotten even more interesting. Lucifer assumes the role of God and his first act as God? Cutting his brother's wings off and casting him into Hell. HE FELL INTO THE CYCLE!!!! HE DID THE THING!!!! HE BECAME HIS FATHER!!!!! but then the show just doesn't ever bring Michael up again and I guess we were supposed to cheer when Lucifer turned his vengeance on him and cast him down. (Despite us having multiple seasons before this and the whole point of the seasons after it being that punitive justice is Bad, Actually, and Lucifer shouldn't be Judge, Jury, and Executioner, for his sake and those he hurts.)
Sorry for rambling. I, uh. have a few issues with the Lucifer tv show.
(It's almost worse than Supernatural in my eyes for this reason. Supernatural's decline was slow and predictable. Lucifer veered right off a cliff into being so much worse and never recovered. It set up so many things and then backed down completely from all of them. At least Supernatural had the guts to go "Yeah, God's a dick, and we're going to beat the shit out of him", even if the weight of that had mostly gone by the time they did it.)
#yeah so. thoughts. about this show.#lucifer tv#lucifer morningstar#like to be clear? i still love the first few seasons of this show. they aren't perfect. but god i want to chew on them.#lucifer and how he reacts to things relating to his past/abuse at god's hands is soooo. soooooooo.

Welcome To Dreamworld Idea Dump
So, like I said earlier, my thoughts have slowly become consumed by the web series, Welcome to Dreamworld by Rainbott.
For those of you who didn't find this post through the dreamworld tag and who follow me, the series is a hand-drawn, voice-acted series presented as a found footage expose on a company called Dreamworld Entertainment. The new mechanic of the place is recording his experience working at this indoor neon pop amusement park, and sending these recordings and other related media to the owner of the YouTube channel, Rainbott. The animatronics inside the building are haunted and we are along for the ride as our POV character, Wiatt Nicholson, explores the facility and figures out how to free all the souls trapped inside. If that sounds interesting, click or tap here to watch the series and join me in this fun madness, and when you are caught up, read more for a collection of my headcannons, favorite moments, and fanfiction ideas.
First, this is a clip of my favorite scene:
And speaking of that moment, these two clips have similar energy:
From The Most Underrated Game Ever by Jaiden Animations
And a longer version of my favorite exchange between Litho and Wiatt: https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxqxz2E0JfxWhZJN-xJwmtMNSARppOkmPk?si=IDNuPlkQVGmsau5K
I had this handful of ideas that culminate in a scene:
During midterm week in high school, Eric has a TV with Mario Kart set up for students to destress during lunch.
A sleep deprived Wiatt says something about electromagnetic screens being what makes it possible for the karts to drive on the ceiling.
This idea ends up being used so the animatronics can speed on the walls in some parts of the facility.
It is possible to buy shoes with detachable rollerblades from the skate park.
The movie Bolt exists in the Welcome to Dreamworld universe.
This all comes together to justify a scene I had in my head where Wiatt has to get somewhere really fast and Cheer pushes a pair of roller shoes into Wiatt's arms and then Ribbon Dancer gives Cheer and Wiatt a (jump) rope.
Wiatt hates every second of it, but he basically is dragged along the walls of the facility as high speeds while "I Need a Hero" from Shrek plays.
Wiatt's dad accepts his son when he comes out and when Wiatt tells him his name/gets it changed, he makes Wiatt a hat that says " I put the "I" in Watt"
(I have been holding in this pun for 3 days. Seriously. Wiatt spells his name like Watt for electricity and I is the second letter.
He is the second person perspective character, and thus the "eyes" of the viewer.
He also treats the animatronics like actual people and is fighting to give them back their old lives and later a sense of who they truly are.)
I have wondered if anyone is the type to play memes over the speakers and after a 3rd rewatch the answer is probably Oliver.
I want a happy ending/humane version of the animatronics where they are piloted remotely with a VR headset, microphone, and motion capture suit.
I want Oliver and Wiatt to be the tech support and for them to take turns so they can force each other and their loved ones to take a break if anyone gets in a state of hyper focus or needs to take regular breaks to prevent eye strain.
I want the system that shows Star is taking a break/having technical difficulties to be Ursa Major/Minor themed so there can be an, "exit pursued by bear" joke.
I want Wiatt and Oliver to have little robots either like the triplets or like Star Wars droids that they can pilot remotely to test out features or to be in multiple places at once. Definitely not there as excuses to be in the VR piloting areas with their loved ones. Totally…
I want there to be quiet rooms and therapy cuddles rooms with Twimblos for people who get sensory overload, or anxiety, or who need a quiet place to decompress.
I want them to have a YouTube channel where they mess around or make things. I want them to have little engineering/computer science projects that they do for fun in their free time. I want them to make a scale model of Glados from Portal and for someone (Oliver) to connect it to the support rails where the Star animatronic was last placed. Lewis is very unamused, but also wants to do some of Glados's monologues. (if Sara is redeemed and still works there, he could quote Portal 2 with the "You murdered me, fair is fair" type lines, assuming they ever get to a place where they can joke about it.)
I think Sara might be good with Physics and also can build Rube Goldberg machines. This girl has won domino sculpture/stacking contests. This headcannon is only a few seconds old, but you can pry it from my cold, dead hands and then try and try to erase it from my memory.
I also think Sara would have/make a long furby given the opportunity if every second of her life weren't consumed by the whole saving humanity by figuring out immortality.
If I had a nickel(son) for every time there was a forest fire in this series used as a coverup for a death, I would have two nickels. That isn’t a lot, but it is weird that it happened twice.
Someone in the YouTube comments said that Wiatt and Alison come from the same family tree. I don't know what video revealed this information or if it is even the case, but I hope it is because I have Ideas.
What if Litho had some claim to/strong influence over the bloodline Alison, Carlos, Owen, and Wiatt? There could be a dramatic moment where Litho realizes that Wiatt is related to Carlos/Winnie and thus that he can possess Wiatt or do whatever with his soul without killing him.
I forgot what the other ideas were. I need a nap. I think I had an idea for a fic where Wiatt gets possessed by Litho, ends up in the same place as Sara’s soul and the souls of other victims and is able to pull them out of oblivion. Maybe Nicholsons tend to have a more latent ability to collect/touch/manipulate souls and when Wiatt gets his body back he finds out that this ability has been heightened.
I also want to write an AU where Wiatt has similar abilities to Damien and he can see ghosts and people’s auras, but it is much fainter and not consistent so he just assumes he is having trouble with his eyes. Then when he finds out about it he needs to know EVERYTHING about this ability like why he has it, if his family knew, why no one said anything.
Here is a paste from discord of an idea I foisted upon my friend. If I am not lazy, I will edit it to be more concise and to not have Sara’s last name spelled wrong.
I had a vague idea for a nothing goes wrong au
Rather than get the money to start Dreamworld in a contest, the contest gives Oliver, Sara, and Lewis a full ride scholarship to some college
And the college has a good film program/whatever field Wiatt is interested in, so they all end up going
Or Wiatt doesn't meet them until they share a class in college
The trio get an apartment/house maybe
And they are saving up to make Dreamworld a reality
Also the area they are looking to buy is the same plot of land where the arcade was. It is the cheapest since there are rumors that the place is haunted and things keep going wrong for whoever buys the land
But this is all just setting the stage for silly au shinanigans
Wiatt has the slight ability to sense ghosts/vibe check. He has a kind of Spidey sense
But instead of avoid the thing, he wants to know why this sense was triggered.
He feels comfort in knowing about things, it gives him a sense of control in a situation where he has little control over what will go wrong.
As a result, he is constantly suspicious of Sara and it has evolved into a weird rivalry between the two.
One possible scene (note in this version Wiatt is roommates with Oliver and Lewis instead of Sara)
Wiatt: Kicks door down, "Covetman, you dusty bitch!"
Lewis, "Wiatt, Darling, she just got here. What could she possibly have done to earn your ire?"
Wiatt: "She used my parking spot!"
Oliver: ....
Sara: >:3
Lewis: "Wiatt... Darling... You don't drive."
Wiatt: "Well, she still should have asked!"
Also my friend and I had this conversation:
Friend — Yesterday at 8:31 PM
Hejdjfushshd I like the goofy setting
Also him being suspicious of Sara and finding comfort in his ability is A tier
Me— Yesterday at 8:35 PM
In the choose your own adventure video (the latest video on Rainbott's channel,) Wiatt has a Moment and I think I get him better
Like I think he is similar to Dipper in his thirst for knowledge
Friend— Yesterday at 8:56 PM
Oooo
—
I have one other story idea in the college roommates au, but I think I will save it for a separate post.
#Welcome to Dreamworld#Icy scribes#Icy babbles#I was up until like six thinking about this series#now that my thoughts are mostly out there i am going to sleep

I would love to know what you think about Jordan and Spencer's relationship in the show- because I'm rewatching the first 3 seasons, and it's bothering me how terrible Jordan is as a friend to Spencer. It's making me wish he got his ass beat more. He talks the talk of family and loyalty, but his walk is almost non-existent, always the first person to switch up on his "brother." I get that early Jordan has daddy issues and insecurities, but you can still have those problems and try being a decent human being. It feels like him and Spencer are painted as these "stronger that blood" brothers, but their scenes rarely show that, more so on Jordan's end. Almost every chance to be short with Spencer in 5 seasons, Jordan has taken it. And every chance to take the high road, Spencer is always the one that takes it in their friendship. I don't know if that's intentional on the writers part to show that Spencer is ultimately the bigger person, but rewatching isn't doing Jordan Baker any favors.
Respectfully, anon, but would you really love to know what I think?
It kind of looks like you want to use this platform to share your thoughts about Jordan and are waiting for me to defend him.
Neither Jordan Baker nor Spencer James are perfect characters. Let's get that straight.
And this might be a surprise to some, but after jordayla, they are my favorite pairing in the aa universe. I love their friendship so, so much. They genuinely care for each other.
And they're gonna get in fights. That's what brothers do. Spencer had to grow up quicker than Jordan. Jordan was privileged enough to not. That's why he's so much more immature in those earlier seasons. Can you acknowledge the growth he's made since?
When Spencer first moves to Beverly, he doesn't want anything to do with the team. Which is fine. I know he went through a pretty dramatic life change. But he also did not move perfectly during that time.
They fiercely care about each other and mean the world to each other, so that's all I need. They actively try to support each other. And it's not always going to be perfect.
And we just saw what happened in s5. Spencer had his reasons for being so cold with Jordan and apologized for it. But it still happened. Just like the times Jordan acted out of turn.
I get a thrill every time they do they do their lil handshake, and I usually tear up when they point to each other on the field. I don't understand why we can't cheer them on and let them continue to grow and make mistakes and learn from each other.

9-1-1 WATCH AND REACTION
S4 ep11-14
Ep 11
SUEEE SUE JO NO NO NO NO SUE
I LOVE a good background and this is so funny for Josh listening in on the drama and typing it. Actually so good for him
Buck and Taylor being besties is lowkey one of the best things ever. I genuinely love this for them so much.
NOT ATHENA ATOPPING BUCK AND TAYLIR KNAOOOOO ICON ICON using the mic when he’s right there was even funnier
THE STORAGE CRATE SCENE WAA EXECUTED LERFECTLY. That was one of the most beautifully done scenes I’ve ever seen. The precision, the planning, the voices overlapping. That was flawless. Mastermind. Masterpiece.
Ep 12
I know this is buck and Taylor but this was SUCH a Buddie episode
Love watching Chim and Eddie team up for a helicopter rescue.
BEST MONTAGE EVER. THE BLONDIES AND INSANE HUNTERS?? I laughed so hard this is such a rewatch scene for me. Watching Eddie dive head first into the truck window sent me to TEARS
Oh now Eddie wants to deal??? Didn’t someone say earlier the hunt was stupid??? BUCK AND TAYLOR AND EDDIE I LOVE I LOVE this scene was hilarious. Eddies little passive aggressive aggressive go team send me into orbit.
RAVI RAVI RAVI guys I think I’m in love with he’s so adorable. I want more of the Chim/hen team up here
Iconic that Karen made an algorithm she’s so smart
RAVI DID IT RAVI DID IT!!!!!! I’m cheering so loud for him lmao he found it why would it have to go 8 ways
Athena’s line about a badge ans fun and the team behind her was such a good shot
NOT RAVI DISTANCINF HIMSELF FROM TBE TEAM AT LINE UP. he really said im b squad im not with them
Hell yeah Taylor friendzone buck!
Ep 13
I love this hen/mom/ doctors not taking seriously storyline !!! Such a damn reality I hope people realize this is real and not Just a tv thing
Carla clocked Eddie immediately bless her
Eddie taking care of the child was so sweet :) and FaceTiming Chris!!!!
Watching Maddie break down is so difficult and scary to watch but another real reality I’m glad is being represented.
I didn’t realize I was waiting for Bobby and Athena to fight until it happened!!! I’ve been waiting for this fight bc yeah!!! They are partners but not really!
OH MY GOSB EDDIE MOOOO EDDIE BUCK???? EDDIE NOOOOOOOO. Now knowing. The cinematography of that shot was CHILLING
Ep 14
Buck wasted 0 time rolling under the truck to save Eddie holy hell. This scene is terrifying. DID EDDIE JUST AAK BUCK IF HE WAS HURT???? DID BUCK JUST HAVE TO DOUBLE CHECK IF HE WAS HURT BC HE DIDNT KNOW??? HES COVERED IN EDDIES BLOOOD
hm great script choice to have buck think Taylor was here for story and not him at first. But the way she held is shaking hands WOAH oh wow. I will rewatch that scene with buck and Taylor like 20 times over. Bucks acting??? Top tier. Buck getting defensive about Eddie to the team—- buck staying with Chris— guys.
OKAY THAT WAS A RISKY CLIMB— did you se that smile from buck as he was climbing up?? Like?? It’s like he wanted to be shot?? Cap can ABSOLUTELY blame him lmao!
THO- I adored watching caps face immediately change the second he realized buck was acting this way bc Eddie was shot. The change up was insane. Another massive rewatch.
Hold up. Buck was DEFINITELY gonna say something to Taylor as she ran aaay but got distracted by the call from Ana. That’s a point.
Eddies face when buck said he should have been shot>>>>>>>>
Maddie quitting dispatch noooooooo
Seeing Nia again :)))) such sweet closure
oh so bucks been in the will for well over a year or so. Hm. Okay. Make it make sense. He’s gonna stop buck from being expendable bc he’s got a child now LMAO

what’s your top 10 favorite female characters?
(in no order)
1.rogue (X-MEN) - my first fave character and still one of my faves. i know most people seem to think anna paquin was miscast and/or the filmmakers didn't make the character as badass, i guess, as she's in the comics, but i like this take on her plus nostalgia def factors in (and it rarely does w me). she's just a scared teenager who wants to fit in; it's a great take on the character imo.
2. helen prins (MANHATTAN) - my girl, my number one girl. a genius who i badly wish i knew what sam shaw had planned for her in the cancelled four seasons (her role in JUPITER is kinda small, but significant). only person who could take a jab at robert oppenheimer AND impress him. AN ICON. SAM, PLEASE ANSWER MY TEXTS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO HER!!!
3. peggy olson (MAD MEN) - i mean. do i need to explain her? i could go on forever about how great she is. no one will ever do it like she did.
4. tess ocean (OCEAN'S trilogy) - i hate it when people say she's the worst character in the franchise because she actually rules and w/o her, we wouldn't have the trilogy. the ~~julia roberts~~ scene in TWELVE is iconic, i do NOT accept criticism of it or its meta nature.
5. sarah pierce (LITTLE CHILDREN) - i love all of future oscar winner nominee todd field's female leads, but i'm giving the edge to sarah because she's the lead in my fave film of his and i love the book, too. it's funny cause i think kate winslet gives my least fave performance of his female leads (tho i still love her performance and i think she should have won the oscar for it), but i love the settings of the suburbs, the unhappiness she feels in the position she's in her life, the way she pines for brad, the book club scene. just a great, great character.
6. selina meyer (VEEP) - i mean, fuck the last two seasons. it's very much fuck the last two seasons. but selina was great even in them (which is more than i can say for literally every other character). i hate the phrase 'no one else could play this character but x' cause it's overused, but it does apply her. no one else could have played selina meyer but julia louis-dreyfus.
7. elizabeth jennings (THE AMERICANS) - KERI RUSSELL EMMY WHEN???
8. julia ogden (MURDOCH MYSTERIES) - i love her evolution throughout the show, i love her relationship w william murdoch (i could write a dissertation on it tbh), i love that she's a trailblazer, i love everything about her. she's on my tv screen rn and she's just the coolest.
9. addison montgomery (GREY'S ANATOMY) - i rewatched the first eight seasons late last year/earlier this year and whenever she popped up, i'd practically cheer. how can you not lover her?
10. lucy moderatz (WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING) - i never wanted to see a character be happy more than her. this is sandra bullock's best role and one of the best characters in a romcom and you can quote me on that!

SOOOO about the DSIMOM trailer...
Apologies for not commenting on the MoM trailer earlier, the whole sh*t show broke loose just a few minutes prior to the trailer and I was in a very dark place to even watch it. I only did the next day and then started rewatching it over and over to look for references and cameos and easter eggs.
All I can say is, the leaks are all true if we compare them to the trailer. So I kinda know what to expect from it already?
Comic-wise, there isn’t much to add other than: Stephen sleeping naked (A+ *chef’s kiss*) and having nightmares (which could or could not be related to Nightmare himself), the dino thing is probably a reference to the Savage Land (but I’m not so sure), Shuma-Gorath, Rintrah and the Illuminati. (and well, if the leaks are true, a very special character for the post-credit scene)
Overall, it’s not a movie that will adapt anything from the comic books, that much I can say for sure. In fact, there’s more from What If...? than anything comic-related (if we, of course, ignore the fact that the tv show was inspired by a comic book series).
*sigh* This is the hardest part for me to elaborate because you just know her stans are infamous, so here comes nothing. I’m not comfortable with Wanda’s role AT ALL. Mostly because MCU!Wanda is just... Not what Wanda truly represents in comics. I’m not a Wanda expert but I read a lot about how Bendis’ portrayal of her character in House of M is harmful not only because she’s a WOC but also because that’s a really bad portrayal of mental illness in general. So yes. Most of MCU!Wanda stans are cheering and rooting for her to be this unhinged female villain and... Okay. But that’s not my cup of tea, I’m sorry.
On a side note, basically variants are an established thing in the MCU now. It’s not ~new~ as I once pointed on the Loki post (Kangs, Dooms and Reeds are the most common examples). But it has grown more popular after Loki.
Stephen dealt with his “variants” before, and I quote-unquote because they’re not really variants, they are constructs of artificial realities (such as Counter-Earth). So we will be surprised by his interaction with other variants.
There are 9509836093486034 problematic things behind the scenes and honestly I don’t have the energy nor I want to dissect any of that more than I already did. With that being said, I see that Stephen will end up corrupting himself for magic, and that makes me giggle a little, ngl. It’s an aspect of Stephen that I love. Don’t get me wrong, it’s painful to see him being corrupted, but it’s also part of his whole characterization: going to such lengths in order to save/control everything, abusing magic due to his arrogance AND expericing one of his most important traits - guilt. So yes. I’m 100% looking forward to it.
Oh, yes. The Illuminati. Not the group of men doing stupid things because of their arrogance I ideally would have in mind but hey, there’s Patrick Stewart’s Xavier! And yes, X-men movies are my guilty pleasure from childhood. I’m not going to expect other former FOX characters to appear because I already know the five members of this group. But who knows? People are begging for Reed to appear, and I’d love that because, although Victor is....... not it, the FF are not that bad, all things considered. And I’m dying for a good FF movie so yes. Let me dream a bit.
Am I really happy about the plot? No. Am I mad at the plot? No. Would I rather have Scott Derrickson adapting a movie involving Nightmare and exploring Stephen’s traumas and fears? Yes. But we cannot have it all, can we? Am I hyped? Maybe, my mood is iffy so I’m not a very reliable source atm, and I don’t want to ruin people’s experiences so I dunno, I’m just sharing my thoughts. One thing is true, though. I’ll try and watch it asap. Because I am, for better or worse, a Marvel worm. And I’ll consume anything they throw at me.
Also I need Waldron to stop writing for Marvel, if the rumors that Benedict had to co-direct the movie in order to make it about Stephen are true.
Lastly... I dunno what kind of magic is this but Stephen in this movie is just so HHHHHHHH. It’s a first for me, so it’s a big deal :’)
Aaaand that’s it.
PS: Mr. Knight, please return my calls. I miss you.
PS²: MK’s moon-shaped cape, I love you.

10 Years Of Songbird: Brittana Fan Project
Hello my fellow Brittana lovers!
First of all, happy 10 years to the iconic Glee episode that is Rumours and the beautifully moving performance that is Songbird. Such a pivotal part in Brittana's story, and one that will forever be ingrained in my mind. Naya's voice still gives me goosebumps and reduces me to tears on that performance, paired with Heather's genuine tearful reaction.
Second of all, this is up slightly later than planned so apologies for that, but Tumblr glitched on me big time and I had to repost this all again which considering I had a draft built up for days, was rather inconvenient, but we’re here now and hopefully it was worth the wait!
Putting this project together has brought me so much joy in revisiting my favourite ship. I don't think I will ever tire of reading about them, and hearing from others why they love them so much and how this ship resonated with them.
For me, Brittany and Santana were the first positive representation I saw of a WLW relationship. I was shook to the core watching their story unfold, in how much it mirrored what was going on in my own life with my own denial and with my own relationship. I found myself clinging to that storyline like an anchor, as if it was going to give me the answers to my own story. Throughout all the confusion I had in my own coming out and realisation that I was a lesbian, the storyline gave me hope that one day, everything would be okay. Watching them go from confused and conflicted best friends to wives gave me so much hope for the future, and now as a 27 year old out and proud gay woman, I still look at this storyline with the same love-filled eyes.
Even as Glee ended and I stepped away from the fandom, Brittana have always been a huge part of my life, always there in the background, always my comfort storyline to turn to and rewatch a bunch of times. But losing Naya last year really brought me back to the fandom and the community and reminded me why I loved them so much.
I think what I love most of all about this ship is how organic it was. It came from the fans, and from Naya and Heather encouraging the writers to take it seriously. Because of this, I also wanted to add in some little touches of Heya, and include quotes from Naya and Heather talking about their fave scenes.
I'll forever be indebted to this storyline in what felt like a really hard and confusing time in my teenage years.
So thank you Naya
Thank you Heather.
& thank you so much to all of you for taking part.
Also a huge shoutout once again to @hopefulobjectmiracle for letting me use her idea and for providing help along the way. She came up with the concept for this project with Klaine, and I wanted to create a Brittana version, but I'd strongly recommend checking out her Klaine one if you haven't already.
I hope you enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoyed putting it together :)
Brittany & Santana Talk To Holly Holliday About Their Feelings- 2x15, “Sexy”
Choosing a favorite scene is hard so I'll choose one of my favorite lines: in the episode Sexy when Santana and Brittany first talk to Holly about their sexuality, Britt says "I don't know how I feel because Santana refuses to talk about it".
I love this line because most people would play it off as Brittany being a simpleton, but that's not the case. Brittany is saying she doesn't know if she's allowed to like Santana as more than her best friend. She doesn't know if it's right. Because if Santana isn't in to girls then Brittany could be crossing a line, a line where she could possibly be making Santana uncomfortable. Brittany obviously knows how she feels about Santana but she wants to make sure Santana feels for her in the same way before admitting to it, as not to ruin what they already have.
-@neversatisfiedwithlife
Landslide- 2x15, “Sexy”
It was incredibly difficult for me to choose my favorite Brittana scene. There are so many that I love and find important to me...some of these moments were even literally life-altering. Before Brittana, for example, I didn't know that girls could be gay, and I had no idea that what I felt for some of my female friends was anything other than platonic. I'm sure I would have realized I was queer eventually, but this ship and the fandom that I found myself in made the process so much easier for me. But I digress :)
I eventually narrowed it down to four choices—Landslide, Songbird, the Heart Locker Scene in New York, and Cherish/Cherish in Heart, and out of these I've decided to single out Landslide as my numero uno, as it was this very scene that started my decade-long love affair with this ship :)
There are so many things that I love about this scene. Earlier in the show we see Brittany attempt to talk about their relationship knowing that they were more than just best-friends-with-benefits, but Santana would instantly close herself off. Still, Brittany pressed on, determined to understand what they had become, while Santana began to realize that what they had—what they could become—was worth letting herself be vulnerable, worth the risk of getting herself hurt. The fact that Landslide was the product of this early struggle gives it so much meaning ;u;
The scene itself has all these details that make my heart ache in the best way possible...the way they look at each other throughout the song, Santana's eyes a myriad of emotions, full of sadness, confusion, conflict, longing, Britt's eyes filled with concern knowing how much it's taking her best friend to be so vulnerable, then the pride that shines through when she looks at Santana after the performance; the way that Santana's voice breaks singing "and I'm getting older, too"; when she stands afterwards and goes over to Brittany, and Britt opens her arms to hold Santana instantly like it's a reflex; the way that they fit against each other so perfectly, like they were made to be in each other's arms...even the visual composition of the scene was perfect ToT That instant of them hugging each other is a study in contrasts with the way Britt's flaxen hair shines against Santana's night-dark head, and with the way Santana's soft white blouse contrasts against Brittany's deep blue denim top ;u; It's gorgeous.
-@randomcanbian
My fav Brittana scene is when they sing landslide together, because it was one of the first times we got to Santana be so vulnerable
-@snowpickles
What is a landslide? Simply put, it’s defined as a collapse of a mass of earth or rock from a mountain or cliff. That’s the perfect way to describe the rocky relationship between Santana and Brittany in S2, and it‘s exactly why their performance of the infamous Fleetwood Mac song of the same name (Sexy; 2x15) is such a pivotal moment in time in for them.
Santana showed a side of herself to her friends, but most importantly to Brittany, that many would deem her incapable of ever doing. For that moment she allowed that brick wall she always had built up around her for protection to come slowly crumbling down. And the best part? She allowed that — wanted that — to happen. She needed to bare her soul to the person she loved most, but she wasn‘t sure how or when, or if she ever could.
Seeing Santana put her heart on her sleeve and confess her feelings of love and admiration for Brittany through song — finally — is one of the highlights of the entire series for me. We see her trap herself within a new world for a few minutes, one that contains only the two of them through her eyes, and let her emotions do the talking. Brittany understood everything without a single word being spoken to her. Santana hadn’t opened up to anyone at this point about how she felt, not even to herself, but so much was understood between them without saying nothing at all. My favorite spoken line is Brittany‘s, „Is that really how you feel?“
As a viewer, it was such an infamous moment because we now get to cheer for them. We see that they are on the same page with one another, that through it all, their attraction and desire for one another never wavered. They wouldn’t be a a couple for quite a bit more time, but they both now understood what we as viewers saw all along. Santana stopped denying her sexuality; she stopped denying what Brittany meant to herself. She still had a lot to sort out and wasn’t ready to free herself from the constraints of her sexuality, but she made the biggest move: allowing Brittany on the other side of that wall with her.
This performance let to the scene we grew to love known as the Hurt Locker, which is the scene that made the Brittana fandom sing praise to the high heavens. Santana felt like she could finally confess her feelings to Brittany. She was terrified, but she somehow found the courage within herself to stop closing the door on opportunities. So, I‘m thankful for Holly Holiday for being the person that Santana and Brittany felt comfortable enough to go to, and I‘m thankful for her willingness to perform with them, because it gave us much more than a song — it gave us hope. It gave us validation. It gave us Brittana.

Hurt Locker-2x15, “Sexy”
"A lot of people have said that scene gave them courage to come out to their parents and their friends and their loved ones, so I think that it's something that's very important, and I hope that we handled it responsibly which I think that we did"- Naya (PaleyFest 2012)
Hurt Locker is my fave scene - just Santana finally coming to feel and admit the truth within. I've probably watched it a thousand times and I'll never get sick of it. The expressions and unspoken acting Naya and Heather put into it give me all the feels!
-@chasingseals
Okay so my favorite Brittana scene is probably the scene where Santana express her feelings for Brittany during “sexy” and says she’s afraid to be with Brittany because of the talks and the way people are gonna stare and that she wasn’t even afraid to what people would say to her face but to what people would say behind her back.
And that’s because I feel the same way. I’m not a lesbian, I’m bisexual, but at the moment I have a girlfriend and I am so afraid to come out to even the rest of my family (apart from my parents and sister) because I always hear them talking about these girls with names such as “dyke” or something, and it was good to see on tv someone with the same fears and it is so good to see that they had a happy ending and got married and that all this started when they decided “not to care” about everybody else’s opinions and be themselves and be happy.
-@wankybjtch
It’s so, so strange to do this without Naya, but here we are, and she and Heather made this all so beautiful. When I tried to answer this question about my favorite scene, I went first to Songbird - Naya has one of my favorite voices in this whole world - and then to Landslide, and then to Me Against the Music, and all those answers seemed really good. Brittany and Santana spoke to each other so much through music - voices and words and touch - and Heather and Naya gave themselves to their characters so much - and Naya to song so much, and Heather to dance - that they would disappear into Brittana, and would just seem like they were love, made visible. Brittana is love always seems like such a true thing to say, to me. But while what occurred to me first were three songs, I realized that my favorite scene - the one that hit me the hardest - will probably always be the Hurt Locker.
Naya was just so shining there, Santana so full of love and this terrible ache and this more terrible hope, all for Brittany, that you could see Heather glowing back, though so much more quietly. It was an absolutely tremendous thing to see a full-on love scene playing out in the middle of a crowded hallway. Naya and Heather were so beautiful together, as friends and as actresses and as onscreen lovers, and after seeing that scene for the first time, I cried every day for a week, always at these quiet, unexpected times. The love and the hurt and the fear and the hope were so raw in Santana - both in Naya’s performance and in the beautiful script - that it brought everything back about the confusion of starting out with that Oh, god. I am never, never going to be like everyone else. I love her way, way too much. But somehow, the scene made my whole world feel safer. I could see myself, and others could see me. There we were on the screen, worthy and beautiful. <3 Tess

Songbird- 2x19, “Rumours”
"I really enjoyed watching Naya sing Songbird. That's ingrained in my head, that time where I sat in the choir room and listened to her sing Songbird, because her voice is just of another world. It's always been my favorite. I will never forget that."- Heather (Entertainment Weekly 2021)
My favorite moment is Santana singing Songbird to Brittany because that is an all time classic romantic song, and Santana (Naya) sings it beautifully, and Brittany just sits there mesmerized. Plus I love what they are wearing, and how they look. i think it's signifcant that Santana sang her love for her here in the choir room, and it's where they had many of their big moments - first together, the break-up song, the flowers in 5, the proposal.
-@1908jmd
My fav scene is 100% Songbird. It’s always been my favourite song and to see it applied to a wlw relationship changed my life a lot because it made me realise that it could be me one day. Santana was always my favourite character too, so to see someone that i appreciated a lot come to terms with their sexuality made me really happy
-@illegally-luthor
My first fav scene out of two is Songbird of course because seeing Santana pouring her heart out to Britt is just the most beautiful thing ever. She was scared to accept who she really was and when it comes to her love for Brittany she’s not scared anymore because loving her is the easiest thing to do. Plus, seeing how Britt reacted was so beautiful. She knew Santana was scared and she was proud of how she confessed her love, through a song, because she knew Santana wasn’t good with words.
-@chloesnix2b
Heart Locker- 2x22, “New York”
My favorite Brittana scene is after Nationals in 2x22 by the lockers.
What I love most about this scene is Brittanys tell it how it is attitude. When Santana said that it clearly wasn’t about winning for her, Brittany looked right through her bullshit, knowing that Santana was getting defensive, because Santana knew what this year was really about for Brittany (and herself too of course), she just didn’t want to admit to it.
You can clearly see that Santana is still scared and hiding and that she still feels like she’s is going to lose Brittany any moment. But Brittany reassures her, tells her how much she loves Santana and makes her feel safe.
My favorite Brittany is always when she’s finally allowed to have feelings and say something. Often the writers didn’t give her anything to do or just made her a caricature of a person. But when she was allowed to express herself, it was in her truest, most vulnerable form. Due to writing, Brittana often seemed one sided, but it’s moments like these that show us how much Brittany loves Santana and how much she wants only the best for her.
For me, the scene felt like the real beginning. They have been taking baby steps before, treading the water. But now Brittany dove right in and her boldness made Santana follow her :)
"What about you and I?", "I love you Santana, I love you more than I‘ve ever loved anyone else in this world. All I know about you and I is that, because of that, I think anything is possible."
-@bolintheturtleduck
I absolutely love every scene that they’re in together, but my favorite is the one where Brittany and Santana are standing outside of the lockers, talking about the glee club. i feel like it showed a lot about Santana’s character at the time and it really inspired me.

Officially Dating - 3x04, “Pot O' Gold”
Their first official date at Breadstix!
Santana and Brittany sitting in the warm lighting of their favourite restaurant in the almost comfortable awkwardness of their tender baby relationship melted something in my baby lesbian heart.
They're teenaged best friends who fell in love and this scene is just so fluffy and cozy and perfectly reflects their dynamic - they're so obviously head over heels for each other and everything about their relationship feels new and electric and full of possibility, but they've also been love each other forever. Santana's eyes lighting up at Britt holding her hand and Britt being so purely herself and everything about the scene just screams home to me and is the moment the show really became about them to me.
-@grassberry639
One of my favorite scenes is the Breadstix scene with the holding hand under a napkin because I could completely relate to it when I was dating girls that was still not yet 100% ready to come out.
-@charisadrastea
Rumour Has It/Someone Like You- 3x06, “Mash Off”
My other favorite is the Rumour Has It/Someone Like You scene because the performance was so beautiful and haunting.
-@charisadrastea
For me, it was the Adele Mashup (specifically the longing looks exchanged during it). I watched that scene over and over again when I was a kid because I felt like it did a great job of truly encapsulating what it's like to have feelings that you desperately want to pursue but can't do to your surroundings. The whole thing really stuck with me.
Naya's performance felt so genuine and, throughout that entire song, you could really feel what Santana was going through as a closeted lesbian who was terrified of losing everything. And the fact that Brittany was so close during the whole performance and, yet, instead of her singing one of the lead parts with her, they just exchange looks. I just thought it did a great job of expressing a trapped feeling.

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face- 3x10, “Yes/No”
My favourite Brittana scene would be the small flashback when the girls are singing The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.
Santana sees Brittany’s face for the first time and she melts.
Their smiles are so soft and I love the instant connection they both have.
-@mostlygleethoughts
My favourite Brittana moment happens when Santana is singing, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. She sings the line, “I felt your heart so close to mine,” while a flashback of her and Brittany in the locker room plays. I get teary-eyed whenever I watch this scene. The love between them is so beautiful, and it’s so refreshing to see genuine sapphic love portrayed on screen.
-@sapphicbrittana
Cherish/Cherish- 3x13, “Heart”
It took me so long to decide on what my favorite Brittana scene is but i ultimately decided on the scene at the end of Heart. It’s just such a sweet moment for them. They are openly going on a date and even kiss in front of other people without caring about what anyone might say. They have come so far from the beginning of their relationship and it is just lovely to see them be so happy with each other.
-@sugarcarnation
Ok so my second favorite scene is in 3x13 when Santana asked the god squad to sing a song for Britt. So the scene at Breadstick at the end and the kiss they shared after Cherish/Cherish is just beautiful. Seeing Santana being so proud to call Brittany her girlfriend and singing her song for her is everything to me. Also Britt’s reaction was too cute. The love in her eyes when Joe told them the god squad was going to perform for her is the cutest thing ever. The kiss they shared at the end of the song was so passionate and it gives me butterflies every time I see the scene. It was also the first Brittana kiss we saw onscreen.

I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)- 3x17, “Dance With Somebody”
"Watching Heather dance is fun in this number, I never get tired of watching her dance."- Naya (BTS Dance With Somebody)
"They put us in twinzies outfits. We've been singing to each other like crazies"- Heather (BTS Dance With Somebody)
My favourite Brittana scene would have to be dance with somebody (the song). I love how happy they both are and how much fun they’re having together!!! The context is romantic, but they’re also having fun as best friends, which is the root of their relationship. I just think it’s really sweet and I’m a sucker for happy pretty ladies dancing around and making each other ridiculously happy. That’s all!!!
-@kurtanaaa
Tongue Tied- 3x21, “Nationals”
Q: What’s your favourite Brittana moment? A: The slow motion celebration smooch when we won Nationals
-Naya (Twitter Q&A 2012)
Mine- 4x04, “The Break Up”
It might seem strange, to choose a breakup scene for a couple's best. It's a scene that broke thousands of hearts and continues to make us cry, even after having seen the whole journey unfold and even after knowing that Brittana will, in the end, be okay. But to me, it's a scene that encapsulates much of what I love about these two and what they mean to each other. "Sophomore year, I used to sit in this back row and secretly watch you. I counted the number of times you'd smile at me, and I'd die on days that you didn't." Half the reason why I chose this scene is this quote. The sheer power of it still shakes me whenever I hear Santana utter these words. The sincerity behind them makes me stop and truly consider what it is she’s saying. It’s a summary of their journey so far. It’s a moment of incredible vulnerability, the confession of a girl who fell in love with her best friend and was terrified of the consequences of that love. Not as much as she was terrified of what it would mean to not be loved back, though.
But Brittany loves Santana with the same passion, even if it manifests differently. It’s why she holds on as long as she can and why it’s even harder for Santana to face their issues. Because you see, I understand that many dislike the reasoning behind their breakup and that it only happened here because everyone else was doing it. But there’s something so deeply caring about the way they consciously make the decision not to hurt each other by leaving themselves in this in-between state of long-distance relationships. Something so genuine about the way they say they would never cheat on each other but also something so mature in realizing that they can’t be what the other needs right now. That, to me, displays such a pure form of love. As pure as catching glances and counting smiles in the back row. As pure as words of encouragement and saying to someone: I'm yours.
Even though they were already inseparable in sophomore year, Brittany smiling at Santana during Glee practice is an intimate moment that meant everything to her. And even though it hurts, Santana letting go of Brittany before they can even think of hurting each other is such a deep declaration of love. What makes it bittersweet yet hopeful instead of just being heart-shattering is the way Santana turns the otherwise optimistic and romantic song “Mine” into a sad one, creating one of the show’s most gorgeous solo performances in the process. Because when she sings Brittany is the best thing that’s ever been hers, we all know it was true in sophomore year, it is true now and it will be on the day they exchange vows. Because Santana’s right when she sings they’re gonna make it, even if it takes a while. Even if they are (and we are) crying right now, even if it takes a few more days of dying in the absence of Brittany’s smile lighting up her world. Because even when they’re breaking up, Brittana reaffirm that they’ll always love each other the most.

Santana Walks Brittany Out Of The Auditorium One Last Time- 4x22, “All Or Nothing”
“I really liked the moment in the last episode, when we knew that Brittany was going away and it was a really sad vibe and Santana showed up and just took her hand and walked her off, I thought that was sweet.”- Naya (Perez Hilton 2013)
Valerie- 5x12, “100”
My favorite scene by a pretty wide margin is “Valerie” from “100”. It’s got that palpable backstage chemistry that Naya and Heather had that shone through so clearly in season 1, it’s poetically choreographed, and the songs even more lyrically significant than before.
I believe that Santana and Brittany are at their best and most smitten when they’re doing what Naya and Heather love the most: singing and dancing, respectively. This is no exception. Just look at Brittany trying not to smile at the beginning. When the shot is on her after Santana starts to sing, you can see her face change from smiles to grimace as if she had forgotten herself. You can’t tell me Heather didn’t break there for a second.
Every little mannerism throughout the whole sequence is laced with that fun, alarmingly pure energy. It could’ve been just excellent acting, but it felt so real. And why wouldn’t it? Naya had to learn Heather’s dance from “Sectionals”. Watching your best friend pull off some of your most iconic moves and then joining in, that’s gotta be fun.
Yeah, Santana’s dancing the choreography from their sectionals with Mike. Within the capacity of an untrained dancer, of course. She’s trying to get Brittany back into the groove by dancing probably the most involved number that the New Directions have ever done. And one that Brittany probably had the most fun with because she choreographed it with Mike. That’s some good writing. And it works, and it’s cute, but once Brittany joins in, the sequence deviates from the original.
We get this just wonderful moment of Brittany dancing solo centerstage fully embracing her passion. After she gets her moment, she and Santana dance either with each other swing-style or towards each other. You can’t forget about that embrace at the end when Santana sort of dips her. They’re not even back together at this point. Santana doesn’t want to get back together at this point. But I feel like I’m watching them dancing at their wedding 3 hours into the reception.
And I mean what an appropriate song to use given the circumstance. “Valerie” is about missing an ex after coming back to your hometown. When we heard Santana solo it at sectionals, it wasn’t super meaningful. It was an excellent way to show off Santana’s vocals and Brittany and Mike’s choreography somewhat independently. But here? Let’s talk about line distribution.
First verse, Santana sings solo. Notably, Brittany is harmonizing behind her piecemeal. By the chorus, she’s joined with Santana fully. Second verse, she’s soloing, joining the dance and by the end they’re dancing together. They’re singing and dancing about missing each other together.
But the song’s not my favorite part. Not even the dance. Not really. My favorite part is the culmination. Santana and Brittany are participating in each other’s disciplines and passions.
That’s an awesome couple right there. They went from singing and dancing somewhat removed from each other to singing and dancing with each other, and even when they were broken up, they still shared their respective passions with each other effortlessly.
-@leatherzaddy on Reddit
My favorite Brittana scene is Valerie S5. It just feels so significant to me that Santana chose this particular song to get Britt out of her funk. Valerie is special to both of them, it’s the first competition solo Santana ever got and it was the first time we ever got to witness the dance skills of one Brittany S. Pierce.
It was the first time Brittany got to show off how talented she was and how she was so much more than the dumb blonde everyone thought she was. Now, however, no one thinks she’s dumb. Now everyone sees her as just another statistic for MIT.
Santana, however, sees right through that and sees her for who she really is - not dumb, not just a genius, but Brittany, the girl who loves to dance. So Santana picks the same song from the first time Brittany got to show off her dancing to prove to her once again that dancing is what she’s meant to do.
-@hopefulobjectmiracle
Churros Kiss- 5x12, “100”
The infamous churros scene lives in my head rent free. Why? Because we saw a level of confidence in Brittany that we had never seen before and, in that moment, we were all rooting for her for giving us what we knew was right and what we knew we needed. The fans knew Brittana was endgame, Brittany knew, and we just sat back and waited for Santana to realize it as well. (Let’s give her credit: she knew.) We had waited 1.5 seasons for more and we finally got it, mouthful of churros and all.
I love this scene because we see Santana and Brittany a bit older and a lot wiser; Brittany knows that after all the time they had spent apart, Santana is the only one she really wants and she felt like she needed to tell her, to show her, before it was too late. I feel like everything Brittany did in this scene was very spontaneous and on a whim, and it makes it that much hotter.
The kiss. It’s my favorite kiss between the couple by a mile. Brittany put her heart on her sleeve and risked everything and just went in for the kill. You can see the twinkle in her eye right before she leaned in and she didn’t hesitate to show Santana what she wanted. I do appreciate Santana’s hesitancy because of their storyline at the time, but I don’t doubt for a second that she didn’t want Brittany back, too. She was just incredibly cautious, and no doubt, caught by surprise. They had been through so much and had finally found a place in their friendship/relationship where scars were healing and hearts weren’t as broken as before.
You can see in the way Santana looks at her after being kissed, the way in which she listens to her, that the wheels in her head are already turning. We know she knows what Brittany is saying is true. She just has to process what this means for her, for them, for her life back in New York. She’s just putting the scattered puzzle pieces back together, but she knows what the picture already looks like.
The kiss on the cheek? The delicious cherry on top. Brittany, having already been pushed away, one again doubled down on how she felt and so quickly, and respectfully, reminded Santana of that. You can see Santana’s breath hitch during this moment when their faces are so close together, and it’s obvious that her love for Brittany never wavered. As she always was, smitten is her middle name.
Brittana’s entire relationship from S1-S6 can be summed up, for me, with one infamous line spoken by Brittany during the churros scene, “You can’t recreate what you and I have.”

The Lilies Scene- 5x13, “New Directions”
I will always remember being a curious and scared teenager. I was almost in high school when Brittana became official and it suckerpunched me. The fear, the anxiety, the angst, the love, all of it was so relatable. Brittana had so many trials and tribulations and they always came out better and stronger both as individuals as a couple. My favorite Brittana scene is the lily scene because it was the beginning of them consciously choosing each other. The growth <3
-@yesandmusicals
My favorite Brittana scene is when Brittany fills the room with lilies for Santana. It really proves that the connection between them is incredibly strong and they understand each other better than anyone else. Their chemistry is off the charts and you can really feel their love for each other through the screen. The way Santana sinks into Brittany like she’s coming home and the way Britt runs her fingers up and down Santana’s arm <3 Everything about it is perfect.
-@santinacedes
I think my favorite Brittana scene is the one in 5x13, where Brittany fills the choir room with lilies for Santana, because that was the biggest time when I could truly feel their love for one another and their support of each other.

The Bedroom Scene- 6x03, “Jagged Little Tapestry”
It's hard to pick one favorite scene because I just love them all. But I'm gonna go with the scene that made me the happiest and that's the bedroom scene before the proposal because it's such an intimate moment between the two of them. They talk about their future together, about how happy they are and of course "I will love you until infinity". I've wanted a scene like that since I started shipping them in season 2. And watching that scene for the first time was one of the happiest moments in my life. And when I'm feeling down I just watch this scene again and everything gets better.
-@brittanaaresoulmates13
Santana proposes to Brittany- 6x03, “Jagged Little Tapestry
My fav Brittana scene is the proposal bc it means so much to both of them. It takes place where they fell in love and there’s so many parts in the song that remind me so much of their past
-@arf128
My favourite Brittana scene is probably Santana proposing to Brittany because the number they do before is fire🔥 and BRITTANA GETS ENGAGED!!
-@pennywarbler
Hallway Scene- 6x06, “What The World Needs Now”
I LOVE THE ‘did I ever tell you that I love you’ MOMENT. The little kiss and the way Santana nudges her head in Brittany’s neck. I love the whole episode, it’s so powerful and as a lesbian I really felt seen and represented.
I love that Santana reminds Brittany of heaven. I love that Brittany loves Santana so unconditionally, that she would do anything to see her happy. Brittany knows that Santana is super happy right now, but she also knows that she really misses her abuela and that she’s sad she’s not coming to the wedding. Britt’s really doing her best for Santana, and that really shows how much she loves her.
I love that we see Santana’s vulnerable side in this episode and I love to see Brittany’s protective side (especially during and after Alfie). Although abuela said she wasn’t coming, I love how the episode ended because it really shows how much Santana has grown and how much love she has in her life right now.

Brittany Confronts Santana’s Abuela- 6x06, “What The World Needs Now”
After Santana sings “Alfie” to Abuela López as if her life depended on it in hopes that her Abuela would be a part of her life again, we have my favorite Brittana moment. At first, Abuela is confused and shocked to find out that she’s been tricked into seeing Santana sing. Brittany quickly confessed that she did trick her and informed Abuela, but also informed Abuela not only that she is Santana’s fiancée but that she loves her so much that she would do anything for her. Santana is quick to look at Abuela to gauge her reaction. Santana is hoping she has an opportunity to explain and to try to make her see how much she loves and needs Abuela in her life. Santana brings up how much Abuela means to her and how much being raised by this woman has made her a strong woman.
It’s likely that Abulea immigrated from another country. Like many children from immigrant families, they know the sacrifices their family took to her there. Santana likely heard from father (as i think Alma is her paternal grandmother) about the importance of doing good in school (and her education as she values it) and likely heard stories about the many jobs her grandma took. Likely those that are stereotypical like agricultural work, working in restaurants, or working as a cleaning lady. Jobs that were all she could get because of the limits society places on her (Abuela). ( Santana really admires this woman. She lets her know how much in the coming out scene. )
Santana embraces being Latina and holds no apology for being so, and admits that she is bigger and better than the limits society places on her. Santana wants to continue to be bigger and better. She admits that she can’t (or doesn’t want to) do that without Brittany and Abuela. Santana feels she simply exists without them. Perhaps also saying that they give her the strength she needs to be bigger and better. She is oh so hopeful that reminding her of all that will make her Abuela come along.
Unfortunately, it is not enough for Abuela. She reminds Santana that she loves her, but not enough to attend the stop following her beliefs. She adamantly says that girls marry boys and not other girls. It’s a sin in Abuela’s eyes, and she refuses to attend the wedding. What happens next in this scene makes me so proud of Santana. Before this moment, Santana was this scared little girl who hid behind this HBIC persona. In short, Santana struggled to love and accept herself. She dated guys for status. She rejected Brittany for so long and told her she was using her and didn’t love her. She had beards and even wrote a song about a boy. She had confessed to Brittany that she was scared about all the talks and looks she would get from others. She hid her feelings and love for Brittany and pushed her away into another person's arms. While doing so, she was more angry and miserable than she had ever been. She had to witness the girl she loved more than anything be with someone else because she was too scared, and it hurt her. It would take some more time for her to embrace herself fully. Even then, she didn’t have much choice. She was forced into accepting herself because she was outed to everyone in her school, in Lima, and in Ohio (and anyone who stumbled across that campaign ad online). Still, she did eventually get there. It was not easy for her at all, but she got there. She was happy. She surrounded herself with the love of her friends. She grew as a person. She became friendlier, was happier, and she allowed herself to love others (Brittany, Dani). Moving to New York was scary for her, but she did it anyway (with a little shove from Brittany (again, she thinks they helped to make her bigger and better). She helped her friends get a job, auditioned for Broadway, went to auditions, held various jobs, and attended school.
Santana remembered how Abuela taught her to be bigger and better than her school, her city, and her state would ever allow her to be when she was in New York. She was even bigger and better than the limits she had placed on herself, especially when she was in high school. She was determined to make something of herself. Sometimes even doing things that weren’t even her dream.
No matter the years that had passed, Brittany knew that despite Santana saying she was okay and choosing Brittany over everyone, including the woman that meant so much to her, Santana still missed her Abuela. In this scene, unlike the last time when Santana bravely confessed to Abuela about her feelings and was gay by herself, Brittany was there alongside Santana. Brittany quickly stepped in to protect the woman she loved. Despite being upset that things aren’t going as they had hoped, she puts on a brave face and tells Abuela that it is okay if she doesn’t go. With a smile and some spunk, Brittany tells Abuela they don’t want her there. Santana is surprised that Brittany spoke up at first, too.
Brittany, who usually is kind and sweet, had her claws out. She used her genius mind to give statistical facts she’d read about to tell Abuela off. Usually, Santana would know not to speak to Abuela in such a manner. This is likely because Santana knows better. Her Abuela likely taught her to respect her elders or at least always to respect her. When Brittany finishes talking, Abuela expects Santana to apologize and stick up for her, but to Alma’s surprise, Santana doesn’t. Instead, Santana, the girl who was scared to tell her Abuela she was gay because she feared losing her, stood by Brittany, the woman she loved and who had told her Abuela to go on and love herself in a way Santana likely never has and would never dare to.
Santana doesn’t just defend Brittany or stands by her. Santana refers to her relationship with Brittany as love. She uses their love as an example of what love is. Santana, the girl who told Brittany she didn’t love her and that she was nothing more than just sex because Puck was in the slammer, the girl who refused to talk about feelings, and the girl who panicked when Rachel referred to their duet as sapphic romance, told her Abuela that what she and Brittany share is love. She uses the words “real love” to describe their relationship and what they had.
The choice of Santana words is significant. Likely, Abuela empathized the importance of love when it came to family (even if Santana experienced a lot of tough love from Abuela, her dad, and likely other family members like her mom.) all her life. Santana likely had seen a lot of it.
The choice of the word “real” may indicate just how deeply Santana was hurt when Abuela disowned her. We did see her cry in season 3 when Santana came out to her. Still, the choice of words makes me think that Santana felt deceived about family sticking together and loving each other no matter what (something Abuela mentions in this very same episode in the Queso Por Dos segment) because of how quickly things changed when she came out. All it took was a confession and a few seconds for that love to disappear.
It’s possible she viewed what she knew as love before, as fake love, or love that was not unconditional. Santana choosing to use “real love” to describe her relationship with Brittany is Santana saying, “We stick together and love each other unconditionally, unlike you and I or my own blood.”
Santana then says that Brittany is her family. Again, Santana reminds us that she chooses Brittany over anyone. Again, she’s touching on her previous statement that she and Brittany are an example of “real love” or (as Santana believes with all her heart) a family that sticks together and loves each other no matter what. This is a big deal for Santana.
She is coming full circle because, in the early seasons, Brittany didn’t always come first. She often came second or last to status, beards, prom queen, people’s opinions, etc.
Santana, a girl that misses Abuela, the person she wishes would love her again, has reached a point in her life where she loves herself and Brittany so much that she no longer needs her Abuela or her support, love, and approval. Santana knows she has a lot of that already. A lot, a lot.
The next part in this scene is parallel to Abuela and Santana’s previous scene some years prior from season 3 when Santana comes out to her. In season 3, Abuela told Santana to leave her house with no other word after Santana came out. Despite Santana’s pleas, Abuela had had the final say. In this scene, things are different. Instead of faltering and hiding, Santana puts her foot down and stands her ground. She keeps her head high and has the final say (something that I believe Abuela taught her when teaching her how to be bigger and better than what the world was going to give her permission to be), and Abuela had no choice but to walk away without another word.
To finish this scene, Santana leans into Brittany. Brittany comforts her (like I’m sure Brittany did the first time Santana came into Abuela the moment she could (which I believe was as soon as Santana got into her car where Britt was waiting (just in case Abuela wanted to meet her))). Santana knows she can count on Brittany. She is her family now. They stick together and love each other no matter what, even if it means being disappointed when things don’t go as planned.
Had Abuela and Santana never made up, I would have been completely okay with it because this scene shows a lot of growth in Santana.
It makes me feel so proud of Santana. She cared so much about others' approval. She had been so scared of her feelings for Brittany that she let herself be miserable and made others feel that way, too. Santana ended up being bigger and better than the limits she and society places on her. In doing so, she learned to accept and love herself, Brittany, and their family. Proudly so. While she wanted Abuela in her life, she decided to let Abuela go and instead surround herself with her new family, one that had plenty of “true love.” A lot, a lot.
That is freaking beautiful, and I absolutely love it.
(Also, protective Britt is 😍🥰).

Pre-Wedding Scene- 6x08
Q: Favourite Glee scene ever? A: My wedding! -Naya (Twitter Q&A 2015)
“My favourite scene to film was the wedding with me and Naya. It’s just a beautiful memory that I am so thankful I have during this time. It happened at the same time as I was getting married, and it just felt like a double wedding, if you will, because that was the title of the episode. It just kind of summed up our entire relationship on the show and it felt so real, and so magical, to do that with one of my best friends.”- Heather (Cameo 2015)
After too much thinking, I’ve decided that my favorite Brittana scene is the pre wedding when they’re getting ready and Britt freaks out because Santana sees her before the wedding, thinking it’s a bad luck thing. And then Santana says to her that rules don’t apply to them and that they make their own luck. After that they kiss in the most perfect way. It’s my favorite because by saying that to Brittany, Santana made it clear that no matter what traditions say or people believe, everyone can choose how to be happy.
-@awesome-shipper
My favourite Brittana scene would have to be just the whole wedding episode if i’m being honest aha (i love all the Brittana scenes lol its soo hard to choose haha) because it shows that love is love and that anyone can get married if you love one another doesn’t have to be man and women, it can be women and women or even man and man! Love is love! I love the episode also because they are just soo cute in it lol, like Brittany having all the pre wedding worries and then Santana calming her down, ahhh its just soo cute aha.
-@elmamacca
It’s so ridiculously hard to pick my favourite Brittana scene, when they all mean so much. Each one means something different for them in terms of their story. Though they may lack screen time compared to other couples on the show, their scenes are filled with so many firsts. First time Santana admits her feelings, first time they mention their officially dating, first kiss, first I love you in a relationship when they're both happy...so they’re each special for different reasons. Even the break up has Santana admit for the first time that she had feelings for Brittany way back in Sophomore year (S1). Something that was implied but never verbalised before that point.
It's hard to pin it down to just one. I love 2x15 for the obvious reasons of getting to see Santana admit what was already clear to see. That she loved Brittany. Seeing her finally admit that was just really poignant for me.
Landslide and Songbird hold such special places in my heart. The bravery. The love. Everything. I felt it all.
Heart was the fluff we so sorely craved for 3 seasons, and they finally we got it in the best way, and we got our first on screen kiss (3 times over).
5x12/5x13 had me feeling euphoric because finally after a season of absolute crap they finally got back together. The kiss was amazing, and we got to see Brittany lay it all on the line for Santana and make it clear who her top choice always was deep down.
6x03 was like a treasure trove of pure joy. The softest bed scene ever which I love for, my fav duet from them and ofc the proposal. Seeing Santana so boldly (I felt so proud of her in this moment) declare her love for Brittany in front of everyone (something she once thought she'd never be able to do), and for Brittany to be able to see that after their rocky start of "I'm not making out with you because I'm in love with you and want to sing about making lady babies", was everything! The call backs to Landslide were just ugh, and it really showed how far they had come. Santana’s speech and how nervous she is, plus Britt’s tears and the way she snatches the ring, lives in my head rent free.
6x06 is also like, incredible, and one of my fav ever Brittana episodes. Just the whole damn episode and how domesticated they are, Santana’s bravery, Brittany’s protectiveness, all the soft af dialogue that looks like it’s been plucked straight from a fanfic. The “did I ever tell you that I love you?” “tell me again” scene is one of my all time favourite scenes from them ever, and I can’t with how utterly adorable and playful and in love they are. Essentially, my love for the ship holds no bounds so there are too many “fave scenes” to count. Truthfully, I could write an in-depth analysis about every single one one of their scenes and how it touched me in some way, but I think if I had to pick just one I'd go with 6x08 the pre-wedding scene.
It's their last major "two-shot" scene and I honestly think it captures everything. Not only is it just contextually sweet the way Santana can't wait any longer to see Brittany and the words that she says, and the way Brittany is nervously freaking out, it ties up a lot of their story. Santana says with confidence "you love me, and I love you" after what seems like a lifetime of self-doubt, finally she knows Brittany loves her and no longer has to question that. This is the same girl who begged Brittany to say she loved her back as a scared closeted teenager, and now she's standing in front of her on their wedding day knowing that Brittany loves her without even needing to hear it. But regardless we do get an "I love you so much" from Brittany, unprovoked by Santana, which again is a callback to that heartbreaking 2x15 scene. It was all Santana ever wanted to hear back then, now she gets to hear it so freely on their wedding day. Their wedding day guys!? Nothing can ever top that for me, for them to have that ending to such a imperfectly perfect story, after all the erasure, the angst, the break-up, seeing them with other people, watching Brittany go off to MIT and thinking yep...this ship is done because Heather's never coming back now.
The way Santana manages to calm Brittany and make her see clearly, is everything, and it really shows that yin/yang dynamic that I love so much about them.
Being someone who felt like I was living vicariously through them and seeing them get the ending of all endings and get married which is such a rarity (or certainly was at the time) for WLW ships was EVERYTHING. There's also the kiss (my fav kiss of there's) and the fact that moments later Abuela comes in and finally makes amends with Santana. It was the perfect, happy, full circle ending to a rollercoaster of a story, and nothing will ever get more satisfying than that.

not gonna lie I would love to hear more about the drama and infighting that went on in The Vampire Diaries fandom if you have the time (and also want to use that time to give your experience with the fandom, which from the snippets you've told sounds Not Fun so I get it if you don't want to lol)
oh god, there was like, SO MUCH, i just
i really feel like tvd is one of those fandoms that is so hard to describe without a lot of ‘you’d have to have been there’, but it really felt like this huge and all-consuming beast for about five years until the show finally imploded and the fandom basically turned on it en masse. (you ever see that post going around that’s like ‘if you ever want to know what true regret feels like, ask someone who once called tvd their favorite show’? still a mood, all these years later. basically the entire fandom thought the show should have just bowed out with whatever shreds of dignity it had left at the end of season 6, and became more of a hatedom than a fandom for the last two seasons. when you have an entire fandom cheering news of your show’s cancellation, i think that’s a sign you done fucked up, julie.)
first and most infamous, of course, are the ship wars. which are pretty much inevitable in any teen-centered drama, and i really think the CW fucking thrives on them, but it was particularly egregious in TVD’s case because not only was the base premise of the show a love triangle, but the two main romantic leads were brothers that the show constantly pit against one another--in pursuit of elena’s affections, but also because it kept up this insistence on the ‘good brother/bad brother’ dichotomy which stopped making sense after about season 2 (by which time we have found out that the good brother was never as good as he appeared, and the bad brother has been growing and isn’t nearly as bad as he pretends to be)--and the question of which brother ‘deserved’ elena (and no, what elena wanted very rarely factored into these discussions, especially in the team stefan camp because they turned on her when what she wanted was no longer The Good Brother, but i’ll get to that in a bit) was hotly contested.
i’m not kidding when i say the shipping wars were vicious. i started watching tvd shortly after it began to air, which was late 2009, and kept up with it fairly sporadically over the years. i didn’t come onto tumblr until 2011/2012, and by then, the fandom was already pretty much a garbagefire. there were anti ship and anti character blogs, any time something bad happened for one ship the rival ship would invade the tags to gloat about it (seasons 3 and 4 were especially rough, and i’m not gonna pretend delena fans weren’t just as bad about tag invasion and shit, but as that was my side of the road i saw a lot more of the stelena shippers being assholes, which soured my opinion on the ship a long time before i started rewatching and realized the red flags were there from the start), confessions blogs were popular also toxic as fuck (so much fighting happened in the notes of those posts, good gods), and this was right around when twitter’s popularity was on the rise and the line between Celebrity and Fan was thinning, so the fandom was absolutely atrocious to much of the tvd cast and crew.
(some of them deserved a lot of the later backlash, but in the early years a lot of it was ‘how dare you write the story in a way i dont like, you terrible fucking person’, and gods don’t get me started on the dobsley vs nian Thing)
i think what really encapsulates my feelings on the tvd fandom as a whole, though, is the way they (to this DAY) treated elena gilbert, which can be summed up in one meme that gained a lot of traction around season 3 if i remember right: that gif of pam from true blood, with the text altered to read “i’m so OVER elena and her precious doppelganger vagina!”
i swear at one time i had over half the active tvd fan accounts on tumblr blocked, because i got to a point where i would no longer tolerate elena hate, and she was (and still is, in what remains of the fandom; you’ll see a lot of ‘elena was one of the worst things about the show’ takes from ex-fans, too) one of the most widely despised characters in the entire fandom. because she -checks smudged writing on hand- was a traumatized teenage girl who -reads off a crumpled notecard- couldn’t always perfectly sort out her own feelings and -squints at the ceiling- sometimes made mistakes or bad decisions. (except a lot of the fandom also insisted that she was a mary sue who had no character traits or flaws or faults and it was like....make up your fucking minds???? is she a calculating conniving bitch whose somehow manipulating these centuries old vampires to tie them around her little finger or is she a boring flat character with no depth and no flaws??? jfc)
there was this massive double standard, too--like, stefan and damon could fuck whoever they wanted and that was fine, but elena was constantly raked over the coals for the crime of developing romantic feelings for the two men who had become constants in her life and whom she cared for deeply, and oh my GOD the slut shaming that happened when elena slept with damon was fucking wild. (and also happened in canon lmfao. like the show had one of elena’s best friends basically call her diseased on screen for falling in love with someone other than stefan. it was gross and ridiculous and the friend in question was also being a giant hypocrite at the time since she was happily flirting with someone who was directly responsible for the deaths of like four of elena’s loved ones and her own boyfriend’s mother but that’s beside the point) but like elena was called a slut and a bitch and a whore for ‘cheating’ on stefan (she hadn’t, and she had in fact broken up with him on screen the episode earlier) and ‘immediately’ jumping into bed with damon, even though none of them said fucking boo when stefan had one night stands or damon had fuckbuddies or whatever.
shit, caroline didn’t get any of this treatment when she started falling for tyler while dating matt! which isn’t to say i think she should have, just that i think it’s fucking ridiculous that elena was absolutely demonized by the fandom for daring to have feelings for two guys at once and eventually acting on them--despite the fact that the entire premise of the show was a love triangle. it’s not a love triangle if both sides don’t eventually get explored, and the crew had been pretty explicit about the fact that delena was going to happen at some point--but when it did, a huge chunk of the fandom absolutely threw a fit.
and a lot of these elena haters were alleged stelena stans, and i say alleged because they hated her so much for not wanting stefan’s dick anymore that it was clear they were really stefan stans and only wanted stelena to be endgame because they wanted stefan to ‘win’ at the end of the day, because ‘he’s the good brother’ so he deserved elena more.
it was all very gross and very misogynistic and very sex shaming (apparently delena was a ‘shallow’ and ‘superficial’ relationship because they had sex after two years of unrequited feelings slowly becoming requited and then pining for ages on both sides, and because they had a lot of on screen chemistry that the show capitalized on for years so of course they did a lot of making out and shit but it’s not like stelena didn’t have its fair share of making out and sex scenes, stefan was just too much of a coward to let elena top i’d apologize for that joke but i’m really not sorry because it’s true), and when i say it was egged on by the crew, that’s because they refused to let the love triangle die back in season 4 when it should have.
they insisted on stringing stelena fans along, dropping little bread crumbs to keep them invested, like dreams of a future where they were married and revealing that stefan was also a doppelganger and he and elena were descended from a pair of star-crossed lovers (a plot that ultimately went nowhere, to no one’s great surprise), and then fucking like. julie plec turned around and threw nina under the bus after she chose not to extend her contract and pretended that stelena might have happened again if she hadn’t left the show, which....i mean frankly i wouldn’t put it past her, but it would have been shitty writing. then again, she thought having a vampire pregnancy where a uterus was magically transplanted from a witch into a vampire that could somehow......carry the babies to term.... made sense and was a good way to accomodate candice’s RL pregnancy rather than like literally ANYTHING else, soooooo. but anyway julie saying that around like, end of s6 sparked off a new wave of nina hate and elena hate and ship wars bc they SEers took it as ‘confirmation’ that stelena was REALLY meant to be endgame and it was all just a hot fucking mess
another thing is that, while tvd was in its prime before the anti/purity culture shit started picking up any real steam, there was still this pervasive attitude throughout the fandom that if you liked Damon, you were A Bad Person. liking damon was apparently grounds for insults and harassment, and apparently he was The Worst Person on the Show even though literally nothing he does on screen is any worse than shit we know stefan has done (and frankly every other vampire too, but i mention stefan specifically because he was always held up--in the show but especially in the fandom--as the Good Brother while damon was the Bad One, and if you liked damon more then that had to mean your morals were dodgy and you clearly couldn’t appreciate what a heroic and saintly figure dear stefan was and....oops, i’m sorry, my salt keeps leaking -cough-).
meanwhile klaus quickly became a fandom darling despite not even really having much of a redemption arc (on tvd anyway, he just became more ‘affably evil’ as the show went on and more inclined to work with the main characters rather than try to kill them; i have no idea what went on over on his show, though), and like i can 100% appreciate liking villains and not caring that they do dodgy villainous shit, even just liking them bc they’re hot and wanting them to kiss a main character bc they have insanely good chemistry (yes i ship klaroline, no i won’t apologize for it, they could have been Really Great), it’s just really the double standard that gets me.
and all of this, incidentally, required ignoring some truly gross shit stefan was responsible for wrt his relationship with elena, that frankly it has always bothered me never really got addressed in the show. i get why elena herself would never be able to actually call him on it, but the fact is that he stalked her for months after he first saw her and thought she was katherine (meanwhile it only took damon .5 seconds to realize she was someone else entirely, but that’s another topic entirely), and then he deliberately inserted himself into her life because, in his words, ‘i have to know her’. he never gave a thought to how his presence in her life might affect her (or rather, he did, and tormented himself about it in his internal monologue, but never let this actually dissuade him from disrupting her life), and elena would wind up blaming herself for every tragedy that befell her friends and loved ones as a result of getting mixed up in vampire bullshit even though none of it was her fault--she literally blamed herself for existing but most of the fandom didn’t give a fuck about that lmfao--and stefan did shit like find out that she was adopted and then withhold this information from her until she got pissed about another secret he was keeping (her resemblence to katherine) and drop it on her to try and distract her from her very reasonable anger, and like... i should stop before this becomes a whole rant about how much i hate stefan fucking salvatore, but the point is, he did a lot of really sketchy shit he never answered for and elena never really took him to task for, and the fandom just kept eating up his insistence that he was the Good Brother and therefore he deserved to have elena, and if she didn’t want him anymore it was because she was a heinous bitch who didn’t deserve him.
uh.....i think i got off track there. and there’s probably a lot of shit i missed, like i think i was incandescent with rage for most of seasons 5 and 6 so i missed a lot of the interfandom shit cause i was too busy being increasingly pissed off at the show itself, but if nothing else this should give you an idea of how much of a goddamn cesspit the fandom was while the show as in its prime. there’s a reason both the show and the fandom have such a lousy reputation lmfao.

Hi! I would love to hear your seven favorite Luke/Lorelai episodes? Some of mine: Double Date, That Damn Donna Reed, Run Away Litl Boy, The Ins and Outs of Inns, The Incredible Shrinking Lorelais...I could pick like 25 just off the top of my head, but it's interesting how many of my favorites come from before they were actually dating! (They're an OTP for me no matter what, but I did prefer how LL were written---and how pretty much everything about the show was written---in the first four seasons over the final three and the revival!)
I love, love, love the first four seasons of Gilmore Girls! I rewatch them the most, honestly. I think they're my favorite partly because Luke and Lorelai have so many great scenes/episodes together.
Here are a few of my favorite L&L episodes. There are way more than seven because it's so hard for me to narrow them down lmao.
Pilot 1x01. They had me at "Junkie." "Angel. You've got wings, baby."
1x10 Forgiveness and Stuff. I love how he tries to cheer her up with the Santaburger, drops everything to rush her to the hospital, handles Emily like a pro, and then they also have that cute "you know you always look good" convo in the hallway. Lorelai gifts him his trademark blue hat in this one, too!
1x12 Double Date. They flirt, they play cards. My face always morphs into 😩 mode when Mrs. Kim bursts in and interrupts them. HE. GETS. SO. CLOSE. TO. ASKING. HER. OUT. WHYYYYY.
1x14 That Damn Donna Reed. Whenever I think of this episode, I can see Lorelai pulling Luke into her house by his puffy green vest *swoons* and then can hear him saying, "There really is a chick loose in here!"
2x07 Like Mother, Like Daughter. She gets so jealous when she sees him talking to that Chilton mom. "Date her, marry her, make her Mrs. Backwards Baseball cap, see if I care!"
2x08 The Ins and Outs of Inns. How can I not love this episode when we find out Luke was a Trekkie?
2x10 The Bracebridge Dinner. The sleigh ride! It's about the ambiance and the intimacy of them being snuggled up, thigh-against-thigh, beneath a blanket.
3x07 They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They? They have that lovely discussion at the dance marathon about wanting more kids while he's fixing her shoe. All of the foreshadowing was there, dammit!
3x17 A Tale of Poes and Fire. I love that Luke and Lorelai are basically finagled into a forced proximity trope because the inn catches fire. She has to spend the night at his place. She's in the bed, he's on the couch. Then she tells him about the dream she had earlier in the season about being pregnant with his twins. I just--it's so cuuute. 😭
4x05 The Fundamental Things Apply. Their first movie night! It's essentially an undate date. A precursor to them becoming a couple and finding things to do/share together, even though neither one of them realizes it yet.
4x11 In The Clamor and Clangor. I will never be over them sneaking into the church together to break the bells. It's iconic! It's also snowing, which just sets the mood. And then that whole "why don't you want me to move" conversation is so emotionally and sexually CHARGED. I die of feels every time I watch it. Die.
4x21 Last Week Fights, This Week Tights. Luke. Can. Waltz. That's all I gotta say.
4x22 Raincoats and Recipes. He brings her flowers. She's so nervous and giddy she faceplants into a door. What's not to love? Also, I can honestly say that I think Luke and Lorelai have one of the best first kiss scenes of any show I've ever watched. Their bickering pre-kiss is just so quintessentially THEM. It's perfectly in-character, so believable and funny. Like, I love that Luke gets so fed up, so overwhelmed with feeling because whoa! she reciprocates!, that he can't help but bark "will you just stand still" before wrapping her in his arms and planting one on her, FINALLY, after years of pining. It's like all the unresolved tension they've accumulated over the years reaches a boiling point that busts the lid clean off in that moment. I love it so much!
5x03 Written in the Stars. Their first official date. He's "all in" and I will never get over the fact that he kept that horoscope in his wallet for 8 years. Proof he is sentimental at heart!
5x12 Wedding Bell Blues. They were so precious and in love this episode, despite Hurricane Christopher blowing in to ruin everything.
7x13 I'd Rather be in Philadelphia. Lorelai's married to Christopher, which is extremely painful for my L&L-loving heart, but the way Luke shows up for her after Richard has his heart attack despite everything they've been through as a couple speaks volumes. It's EVERYTHING. There's nothing he wouldn't do to make her happy, to bring her comfort. Nothing. It doesn't matter if they're together or not together. He's always there for her. Always, always there. It's unconditional. I like to think that's the moment she realizes she'll always love him, that she's still in love with him. (She should've BYE FELICIA'D Christopher right then and there.)
