This page is so heartbreaking in multiple ways, this is trauma in a page

First, baldur mentions he tried to unalive himself A HUNDRED AND TWENTY NINE TIMES. A HUNDRED?? AND TWENTY NINE TIMES??? 129?? That is a LOT. The number isn't even the main thing, the concept of him trying SO HARD to get rid of his curse, even if that means giving his life away, is so heartbreaking and explains how much he suffered when he was cursed.

Second, he mentions how badly the presence of Freya affects him on a daily basis. Whether he's around her or not, he feels TORMENTED by her. The way you could see his hatred face the moment he realized Freya was there with Kratos and Atreus; that's just insane. Imagine not being able to stand a person - especially your own mom, the woman who gave birth to you - to the point you want to die just to not feel their presence on your body or your soul.

That is CRAZY.

Third, Baldur implies he would LOVE to become a father.

At first when you read the sentence you think it's just a way to remind her of how badly she affected him, but when you read it the second time you actually realize he implies it. Baldur would love having a child of his own, but ONCE AGAIN the curse his own mom gave him stops him from following this dream of his. This is definitely the most heartbreaking part, because (in my head, this is not in the book or anything) I feel like baldur would want to take care of his kid the OPPOSITE way baldur's parents took care of him. Freya traumatized him and basically gave him a free pass to dangerous forms of insanity, and Odin took advantage of it and made Baldur his little puppet.

Give this man a second to breathe.

the thing about labru vs kabumisu is that both of them have the same core appeal to me, specifically from kabru's side of things: kabru being someone who is constantly agonizing about social rules and putting on the right mask, and meeting this Weird Fucking Guy who does not (cannot) care about all those things, and so kabru slowly allows himself to be more genuine. they're both such good relationships (whether you view them romantically or platonically), why must there be so much hostility between enjoyers of these ships?

Hey! This is a friendly reminder that there’s a difference between “I like this media in general but have criticism for a few things. Here are some things that I would have done differently” and “I enjoy this media but I actually hate literally everything the writers are doing with it”

The former is healthy, the latter is liking a premise and being disappointed with the actual work.

Both are allowed!

Like seriously do whatever you want.

BUT! I recommend not engaging purposefully with media you know you don’t enjoy, even if you’re a fan of the rest of the franchise!

Don’t like the sequel trilogy? Don’t watch the sequel trilogy! You’re still a Star Wars fan.

Don’t like the kotlc books after Nightfall? Don’t read the kotlc books after Nightfall! You’re still a KOTLC fan.

Don’t like the Trials of Apollo? Don’t read the Trials of Apollo! You’re still a Riordanverse fan.

You can like media without liking all of it for sure! I’m never going to call someone a fake fan for only liking part of the media. But if you know you don’t like something, don’t engage with it!

However, it’s also possible that you don’t dislike everything about those books. Maybe you think the sequel trilogy is the most flawed, but still enjoy it. Then watch them, knowing what you dislike about them! Feel free to share what you think is flawed. Same goes for all the other examples.

But if there’s something you just don’t think is good? Later books in a series that you just dislike the whole direction the author took? I mean, it’s your life, but I’d recommend not purposefully consuming media you know you dislike!

Lee - Dawn/Dusk

Mainly dusk, but pretty much imagine him in browns, oranges , dusky yellows and reds and the like.

Michael - Twilight

Starts after the fall of Dusk,short lived. Haralds the start of darkness and but also first light when it falls. The darkess time in which the sun is out. I see him muted/ dark blues,dull browns and blacks. Maybe a touch of greyish pale yellows.

Will - Daylight

Longest lived, bright, it's what most people think about when they think of the sun. With his golden sun kissed hair and sky blue eyes its pretty on the nose. I see him in bright/light yellows and blues.

Idk why I thought of posting this, I just love them and wanted to share my thoughts.

Think it is pretty obvious how I tend to draw them, but it's fun to write it out ^^

Finding God in Surprising Places pt 1

Something I’ve noticed while reading Thrawn books (I’ve gotten through the Thrawn series, I’m working on book one of Thrawn Ascendancy, and then I plan to read the original Thrawn trilogy after) is that so far, pretty much everyone who works with him regularly, all those who are close to him, he’s constantly trying to help them grow. He encourages people to figure things out on their own, basically training their minds to work the way his does. He encourages them in their independence and confidence in themselves. He asks them to do hard things but he doesn’t leave them without help.

Now, a large part of this is probably that it’s an engaging way to move the plot along if you get to see characters make connections and figure things out— but It’s Sunday, and God is on my mind.

I think this is what God is like. Don’t take me wrong I don’t think Thrawn is a god nor is he like God in all ways. But this particular facet of his character—the way he draws out the most intelligent and confident version of people— it feels like what God is trying to do with me. God puts me through difficult situations, and even though he already knows all the answers, he’s not going to spell it out for me. He encourages me to figure it out with just a little bit of guidance, growing both my competence and my trust in Him and in myself.

This conversation feels so much like conversations I’ve had with friends and family about God.

When I don’t love myself, I have to remember that God loves me, and I trust him.

When I don’t trust myself, I have to remember that I trust God, and he wouldn’t leave me helpless. He trusts me enough to do what he has asked me to do. I am capable of doing what I need to do.

And that’s very comforting, since finals are coming up lol
