Sorry this blog (and this request) got put on the back burner for so long lol. Got really into Metalocalypse, and i've been focusing on that alt + posting some art on my main acc. Anyways, as requested~!

Comparing Megaman robot masters to Megaman Battle Network netnavis part 3

okay not gonna lie I’ve got a bit of a migraine forming so gonna do my best to be brief and quick with this one

First up is Needleman and Needleman.exe

Classic looks like a retrofitted Airman but oddly enough I kinda prefer it this time. Force gem or whatever the random glowey bits on robot masters are called is in a weird spot but it’s not too be a detraction

.EXE looks like a png-tuber who complains about the problems of forced diversity. Dreamworks smirk looking headass. Also weirdly enough in the anime they gave this navi to a (relatively) fleshed out version of the twin sister of the teacher character. Not putting that towards the score but figured that was neat (also Ms Yuri can step on my thro-)

Point (eheh) in favour of the Robot Masters, giving us a score of 11-6

Next is Magnet Man and MagnetMan.EXE

Classic is...kinda bare bones with the idea. Looks like someone in a bootleg Magneto cosplay.

While the chest of .EXE being another, larger magnet along with the magnet helmet, I do like the kind of studded look to it, Gives it a kind of knuckleduster look to it which while not matching the initial theme matches with him being less of a partner to his user and more of a bodyguard/hired muscle. I also like the fact they gave him a sort of brother/copy in blue for his signature North-South Tackle

Point to the navis, giving them double the RM’s score with 12-6

Skipping GeminiMan and HardMan we have TopMan and TopMan.exe

...I really do not see how any robots, even a Mettaur, could follow TopMan even with the RobotMaster tech

Meanwhile I have a big soft spot for this gaming geezer. The video I’m ripping o-I mean was inspired by mentioned how TopMan.exe looking like his owner was a ‘problem’ with a lot of navi but I love it. It also makes the theming work a bit more, with the owner being a crotchety toy maker.

Unlucky for the Robot Masters, it’s now 13-6

Ssssslithering into frame is SnakeMan and SnakeMan.exe

SnakeMan is probably my favourite design from 3, even if it’s relatively goofy.

I vaguely remember being creeped out by SnakeMan.exe in the anime, despite its clown vomit of a colour scheme. The arms at the back of the head kind of make it awkward. I feel like if they appeared in their own jars it’d work a bit better. Also the...flames(?) so SnakeMan.exe can actually move seem a bit out of place.

Point in favour of the robot masters, 13-7

Next up, SparkMan and SparkMan.exe

...I’m gonna be completely honest I have nothing to say for either case.

The lighter orange and addition of yellow to make it read more at a glance it’s a electric boss is alright, but leg down by the adition of green

...I’m calling it a tie. Maybe it’s the headache or the fact I do not have an attachment for either design but I’m just so...apathetic.

And finally for this batch, ShadowMan and ShadowMan.exe

Now these are ssome damn good designs!

The classic’s night sky blue armour referencing the real life ninja uniforms (the all black ones were more of a theatre thing) along with the sorta...I forget the right word but fishnet ‘undershirt’ is a big plus for me. And while I’d argue the pure white parts ruin the whole stealth idea...ehhh, it’s not like he’s stealthy in the game anyway, and his navi self’s not dressed for stealth.

But what he is dressed for is to look so damn cool. Strider levels of oversized scarf, purple will always get you bonus points with me, and the legs looking like the tradition sandal look

...this is another tie but I genuinely think that these two are 10/10 designs that are just two different looks of the same theme.

Which ends this post with the score being 15-9. Genuinely surprised at how close it’s been so far.

Since I’ve got some shifts coming up, I probably won’t be posting again until Sunday at least...or who knows maybe I’ll surprise even myself. Cioa ‘til then

17. what’s your favorite painting? and describe how it makes you feel?

I'm gonna cheat a little and say Fountain of Youth by Richard Hambleton. Watched a great documentary about him, Shadowman, 6-ish years ago, and I still haven't forgotten his shadows. On first glance, it makes me feel excited, energized, like I want to jump too; looking at it more, it becomes spookier, something more eerie; and then finally, esp knowing Hambleton's history (many of his friends & peers died young, including both Harding & Basquiat; his struggles w/ addiction, poverty, and isolation), it becomes something sadder.

26. which of the 7 deadly sins do you struggle with the most? and which the least?

maybe a curve-ball here: I struggle with Wrath/Anger, in that it's not the sin I feel most often but it's the hardest for me to get a hold on. I'm a quintessential Enneagram 9 in that I'm normally I Don't Get Angry I'm Chill With Everything :)) which means in practice I can be really out of touch w/ my anger and/or it gets very internalized; being mean to others is a no-no, but being mean to or getting angry with myself, well. my inner angry voice can get pretty vicious! (or, for another angle, how I can really enjoy feeling irritated & annoyed sometimes. not great.)

the least is Envy. generally I love seeing good things happen to other people! success and happiness for my friends or people I know means I get to feel good too.

MM CLASSIC FANDOM SURVEY RESULTS

hello everyone!! below i will disclose the results of the mm classic fandom survey from a few weeks ago... this will be a longer post so it is under a read more. thank you all for participating!

1. has the fandom played mm classic?

largely, yes! only five people haven't been able to play the games. that makes sense, i suppose, but its still interesting!

2. has the fandom read archie/ariga?

according to this survey, a large majority of people have read the archie comics, while only a slight majority have read ariga. this could likely be due to the larger access to archie as opposed to ariga, but it cant be said for certain.

3. did the fandom grow up playing the mm classic games?

for the most part, people in the fandom weren't exposed to classic between the ages of 5 and 14 (i.e., they got into the series later); though, a considerable number of people did get to see the games while they were younger. a smaller portion of people interacted with classic in other ways, such as reading the comics or watching ruby spears.

4. through what media does the fandom like to interact with classic? what is their focus?

as shown in the chart above, most people use the games as a lens to engage with the series, but this is usually supplemented with the comics or even ruby spears. notably, there were also 7 people who felt that fanmade content was crucial enough to their engagement with the series to include here. only two people felt that the bands were significant enough to shape their enjoyment of the series!

5. what is the fandom's favorite game in the series?

mm3 was voted to be the fandom's favorite game! as you can see above, the first three games in general are big favorites. interestingly, mm10 follows closely behind mm1. other games, such as powered up or megaman & bass, also make an appearance here. mm6 and mm7 arent as loved as the other games.

6. who is the fandom's favorite character?

it makes sense that mm3 was the fandom's favorite game, as blues really knocked it out of the park as the favorite character. he had 14 votes more than the characters who tied for second place! several other characters got a few points here and there, and all characters in the "other" category got one vote each. yet, i would love to highlight some of the interesting characters from that category: punk, dr wily, copy robot, evil robot, dynamoman, and many others got to be included on this list. good for them!

7. dr light or dr wily?

it was a very close tie, but dr light won in the vote between him and wily: only by 4 votes! there was a point where wily was winning, and a point where they were tied, but light came out on top.

8. what kinds of content does the fandom make?

there was a lot of variety here, but a majority of fandom members are artists! writers are also very prominent. shoutout to the one person who makes plushies... that is amazing!

9. does the fandom prefer a serious version of classic or not?

as you can see, most people in the fandom like a non-serious version of classic. they might include some serious aspects, but its largely not too dark or anything. one person focuses on the serious aspects only!

10. does the fandom ship the classic characters?

yes, the fandom does engage in shipping! there were a TON of ships, way too many to list, so i'll just mention the three couples that tied for the most votes (4 votes each): QuickElec, FreezeIce, and ShadowBlues!

11. does the fandom rp?

for the most part, the fandom doesn't rp. of the ones who do, shadowman and blues (3 votes each) are the most popular to rp as!

12. last, but certainly not least: what does the fandom want to be canon to classic?

i dont have a chart for this one. the answers were so different, and people had a variety of very interesting and cool ideas that they obviously had put a lot of thought into! i'll highlight some of the most popular trends:

there were quite a few people (like the example above) who wanted some side-series, such as archie, rockman adventure, or mmV to be canon or have parts of it be canon.

other people wanted particular characters to have more depth! this largely applied to blues (see above), but there were also responses like this for dr cossack/kalinka, swordman, quint, and shadowman. there were also quite a few cases of people wanting particular characters to be canon like quakewoman.

some people mentioned wanting to have the robots interact with others: feeling that they did not have enough in canon. this largely included the rms, but it also involved human characters! kind of on this same topic, many people wanted to see the robots have a "happy ending."

lgbt rep was a huge desire for the fandom! quite a few people talked about wanting lgbt characters to be established in the series. to add onto this, five responses were along the lines of this one:

“Fritz is dead!” Finn aggressively whispers back at her glaring daggers, just because he didn’t know Fritz for long didn’t mean his death meant nothing to Finn.

“I just talked to him a couple hours ago, he did have a mild concussion but he was very much alive. That is how The Shadowman gets you, he shows you things that aren’t there. But, he can easily make them actually happen.” She stops in front of a rusty door that was so badly taken care of that there was a literal hole in the door the size of Logan’s fist. They shared a look, nerves washing over them.

“So… He’s okay?”

“Yes, but know” She looks at him with a small smile, “He already knows you’re in love with another. Also, another is in your destiny.” She glances at Logan then looks back at the door taking a deep breath. “Okay, Nadya and Fritz will be back at the cottage waiting for you and any others you can save, you’re their last hope.” She opens the door and shoves the two inside.

They look around the dim, humid room. The red warming lights everywhere made them sweat instantly, as their eyes adjusted they took notice of some very important things. There were cages of reptiles and amphibians everywhere, with names on the cages, names they heard somewhere before.

In a large bare tank there was a bright Copperhead snake with the name:

Next to that was a tank with a little vegetation and water, a large Cotton Mouth was looming in the corner:

A plastic kiddie pool with some sand was seen in the floor, in the water was a small alligator, There was a cage around the pool with a wood block holding the name:

Up on the shelves were two tanks, both had a lizard each. One looked to be a broadhead skink:

Call of Duty!

The first character I first fell in love with: 

The first character I grew attached to was Tank Dempsey. The simping is still going strong 8-9 years later.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: 

- Russell Adler. Since Black Ops 2, I stopped caring about the campaigns and that. The only thing that kept me consistently in the fandom was the Zombies. 

Adler’s complexities as a character and the focus on atrocities done BY the US (Greenlight nukes, MK-Ultra) was breath of fresh air compared to the narratives over the years. Russell Adler is indeed a magnificent bastard. 

- Also, Task Force 141. I did like the OG trilogy, but I was more focused on the Black Ops series (mainly for the Zombies). But your fics got me interested in them. Also, @enderio got me fascinated enough to look into MW2019 as well. 

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: 

- Ultimis Nikolai. I always liked him the least. Over the years, I felt that being drunk was his only personality trait. My mind has changed since then, but he still rubs me the wrong way. He might be funny, but I would avoid him IRL.

The character I love that everyone else hates: 

- I always hated how much hate Ultimis Takeo got back in the day. I’m proud to say I never jumped on that hate train.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: 

- I still love Adler as a character, but I see him in a more critical light than before.

- The same goes for Ultimis Richtofen. I used to be an Ultimis Richtofen main.

The character I would totally smooch: 

I got plenty.

- The Zombies cast, especially Primis and Samantha Maxis. They literally went through Hell and back.

- The 141 squad deserves better. Simple as that.

The character I’d want to be like: 

- I’d want to be more like Primis Richtofen and Takeo, because I relate to them the most.

The character I’d slap: 

- Dr. Monty, Shadowman, Savannah Mason. Wouldn’t slap Ultimis Richtofen and Dr. Maxis, but would clown on them for the funsies. They deserve it.

A pairing that I love: 

- Romantic: Bellseus, Becler, Masonweaver. Gore n’ Guinness is growing on me as well.

Ah. This is like a match made in heaven. For me at least. I’ve always loved “shadow powers/abilities”. And now... there’s a story about a world of shadows! It’s great! But my question is this: Is the content update still coming? There’s not really a date for when posts are created and I can’t tell if I’m reading the version after the content update or before. I’m reading this on the hosted games app on iOS. Thank you for making an amazing shadow world!

The content update is still coming. I’ve added something for chapter 6, 7, 12 and 13, so those should be a bit different upon replaying it, I think. I might still polish them a bit and add more though, but currently I’m working on expanding the final chapter along with chapter 9, both of which will probably be bigger than the chapters I’ve updated so far since I plan to make more character interactions and such :)

I’ll try to be back to answer asks tomorrow or saturday, just wanted to clear this up first!

It’s Halloween!

So for all the trick or treaters out there, here’s some advice:

Never go to Samuel Stuhlinger’s house for candy. He’s most likely to give you a fake body part than give you a sweet treat for his sick amusement. He’s trying to be a copycat Candy Man.

If you’re brave enough, Russman will be in his rocking chair on the porch with a full basket of candy in his lap. Ignore the look on his face and the shotgun propped beside him and he may give you a generous amount. Be kind and wait your turn if you go with a group of friends. He’s the ‘Strange Man in the Old House’ cliche.

Misty’s the person to go to for big bags of chocolates and cans of soda. Don’t look too long at her suggestive costume and you won’t get chased off her property for looking at her in a strange way. She’s dressed as a cat.

If you’re looking for something to wash down the sweets or you’ve been walking for a while and you’re feeling thirsty, Marlton Johnson will be handing out bottles of water, maps of the best trick-or-treat locations in town, and he’s making some low-fat brownies with peanuts. I suggest you stay clear from the brownies, they’re always burnt. He does pull off a good Robin costume. (Props if you know why that is.)

Looking for the best scares, head on over to Billy Handsome’s house. He spent the last few months to make and hide jumpscares, handcraft his decorations of jack-o-lanterns and scarecrows, and authentically make some bloody bodies littered on his yard as you make your way to his doorstep. Make sure you’re looking everywhere at all times because he’s gonna get one good scare out of you by jumping out and tackling you. If you survive all that, he’ll dump a handful of candy in your bag. He’ll tell you to run; take his advice. He’s dressed as himself.

Finn O’Leary won’t be celebrating the holiday so it’s best to stay away from his house. He’s trying to get some sleep and will leave a warning sign on his yard of what he’ll do if some poor soul rings his doorbell at all tonight. The only kid that did this one time had to give their candy away to him because that’s the one thing that would make him stop chasing after them.

Salvatore DeLuca won’t be celebrating either. He’s got better things to do with his life. If you have the time and supplies, throw toilet paper at his house. That’s it, he’ll hunt whoever does something else besides that.

Albert Arlington will greet you with a small smile and ask if you want cookies or brownies, he’ll give each trick-or-treater two cookies or brownies. Compliment him on his paper mache owls, ghosts, and bats on his porch and he’ll give you a bit more. Be honest, he’ll know if you’re lying. He’ll be dressed as his original superhero, Icarus, so don’t be frightened by the large yellow wig and the red latex suit.

Be patient with Nero Blackstone when you get to his house or avoid his house. He’ll ask if you want to see a magic trick and he’ll attempt to pull a piece of candy from your ear. It won’t work the first few times and if it continues to not, he’ll give up and ask if you want the whole basket of candy. THIS IS A TRICK! Answer yes and he’ll throw you the one candy he tried to fool you with. He’ll take the basket with him and slam the door, calling it a night. He’ll be dressed as his idol, Harry Houdini.

Jessica Rose won’t be participating so avoid her house. If you disturb or try to prank her while she’s trying to watch a movie with the candy she was going to give out, she will come out. The fact she’s chasing you won’t scare you, it’s the green facial mask she has on will give you every reason to run faster.

Floyd Campbell won’t be offering candy, but if you’re getting hungry for some real food, stop by his place because he’s in his yard with his grill. He’s giving out free burgers, hotdogs, and shish kabobs for anyone between the hours of 5-9. He’ll be dressed in his boxing outfit with an apron that says, “Work Hard, Play Harder” over it.

Jack Vincent will be working late so go all out on his house and take the basket of candy on his porch (he won’t do much unless you get caught on his surveillance cameras which you won’t ever know where they are).

Takeo, surprisingly, will be participating so remember if you were good to him earlier this year and then go to his house for sweets and homemade goods. He knows if you were good or bad to him, so don’t try to lie. He’ll be dressed in casual clothing.

Nikolai will not be participating, but he will leave a basket of candy for anyone. Make sure you only take one piece and walk away. He may be in his home, but that doesn’t mean he’s asleep. Just don’t look at the far right window on the top floor and you’ll be fine.

Edward Richtofen will be giving away the authentic candies from his home and other surrounding countries. Looking for better chocolates from Switzerland or curious to try bon bond from France? I highly recommend his house! Not to mention, he does have a flare for Halloween/Fall aesthetics so you’ll have something to admire and take pictures of. He’ll be dressed as Gandalf so compliment his outfit because he needs to be sure that it looks good.

At the end of the night, head on over to Tank Dempsey’s house for the best Halloween party. He goes all out on decorations, candy, food, music, and scares during this holiday. Everyone’s invited and for anyone thinking that open invites are a death wish, don’t worry, because there’s top security when Dempsey can’t be around to monitor. Ignore the security and you’ll have a blast and walk away with another full bag of candy, courtesy of the man who loves Halloween more than anyone. He’ll be dressed as Master Chief and he spent all of last year getting it right so give the man props. 

Another thing to remember, Dr. Monty and the Shadowman will be watching you from their porch, eating the Halloween candy and drinking wine. Do not stare at them for too long and don’t think about approaching them. They won’t chase you, but they’ll do something later on down the road in your life. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, the last kid was sorry...

Rockman.EXE Episode 42 Review.

I spy Navis from the N-1 such as Blues, Elecman, Bombman, Whaleman and Shiningman. I also see some viruses, one of the robot operators that nearly killed Netto and Commander Beef, and Shadowman and Cutman? How do these people know about them?!

And that’s the Gospel truth...

We open the episode at some noodle shop where Madoi talks about how she is bored with her life, and Coloredman tells her how she used to shine back when the WWW was still active. Madoi then gets a bowl of noodles that she didn’t order.

I wonder who that could be?

Madoi’s mystery order comes with a little note with the seal of Gospel asking her to join them. The mysterious customer then reveals himself to her.

I think Madoi just slapped him after he said that. Can’t have a Madoi episode without someone making fun of her makeup.

After the title card, we see Madoi in her new secretary outfit at Maha ichiban where she breaks the news to the other Ex-WWW members that she is gonna quit to go work for Gospel.

Count Elec and Hinouken don’t like this and yell at Madoi calling her a traitor and such. Mahajarama on the other hand, is cool with Madoi leaving and gives her farewell gift.

Friendship? What would bad guys know about friendship? We know they all stick around together because they have nothing better to do.

Madoi takes the gift and runs out of the shop causing a car crash into it and destroying Mahajarama’s life size statue.

AHHHHH! Mahajarama has eyes!

We then cut to a family retaurant where Netto is in a “secret” meeting with the Net Agents, where he makes a scene after the news they tell him about Gospel.

“Hello, police? There are three terrible cosplayers and a kid talking about the Net mafia out loud at a family restaurant”

They are telling him about a Gospel leader hosting a secret meeting in Japan. Since the cover up for the meeting is a costume party for rich people, the Commader wants Netto to ask Yaito to help them get in, right before this second waitress complements his costume.

This girl has obviously never seen the N-1 Grand Prix.

Anyway, the Commander insists in having Netto talk to Yaito about the party, but that is no longer necessary since Yaito, along with Dekao and Meiru, overheard their conversation.

After this we cut to Madoi enjoying her new job at Gospel resting by the pool, when Gauss appears and asks her to follow him into a skipped scene from the dub. Brace yourself.

The correct question here is, who would buy a toilet with Wily’s face on it?!

Yes, Gauss reveals that he is a super Wily otaku or fan girl, whatever you want to call him. He even shows her a talking life size statue of Wily in a little scene that was kept in the dub.

I would be more impress if you had him saying: “The fact that you keep losing to Rockman is exactly why I’m mad!” (Actual quote from episode 9)

One of the reasons Gauss decided to hire Madoi is that she could share with him her memories of Dr. Wily, reminding us that either Wily is dead or just M.I.A.

Back at the Curry shop, Hinouken and Count Elec are still mad/sad about Madoi leaving them.

Is this an opening for a Count Elec and Madoi shipping? I guess nearly falling to your deaths together in a cold mountain range while hand gliding makes you developt feelings.

That night, we see the cover up party at a mansion by the sea, with Gauss as the host. We see people dressed up as Navis and viruses among other things, but the best costumes are the ones Netto and his friends are wearing.

*Okay, if you’re confused about Netto’s name, scroll down to the end of this review to see the full story behind their group costume. BTW, Miyuki and Saloma are the horse.

Netto and Dekao inmediately start embarrasing Meiru by eating like the animals they are.

 Yaito doesn’t help either because she starts blinding people with her forehead for some reason.

Yes, in fact, this scene was so pointless that it was skipped in the dub.

It is now time for the Net Agents to start their investigation, with style.

If I know my costumes, that must’ve hurt Saloma a lot.

The Net Agents sneak around Gauss’s mansion and come across a hallway with a laser security system, they need to disable the lasers from the cyberworld, and Netto, who suddenly appears next to them, volunteers.

We get a different design for the plug-in animation as Netto sends Rockman into the security system. The Guard Navis attack, but Rockman is so bad ass that he doesn’t need any chips to knock them all out.

Either that or they’re just really weak.

Netto complaines to them about being left behind, and since Commander Beef knows well that he won’t get rid of Netto that easily, he allows him to tag along.

Son Netto, master in the art of convincing!

We then cut to Madoi reminding Gauss about the secret meeting and they both leave the party. During their walk, Gauss tells Madoi that Gospel is nothing like the World Three, hinting that something really bad is about to happend.

Let me get this straight. You’re a fan of wily, but you’re not a fan of the World Three, the organization he created in order to terrorized people, the thing that made everyone realized that he is evil, THE VERY THING THAT MADE HIM FAMOUS IN THE FIRST PLACE!

The Net Agents along with their Navis disable every security system they find as they move on. Before commercials though, Gauss reveals that the Net Agents are heading for a trap. So much for the surprise.

They finally arrive at the meeting room filled with a bunch of covered up guys who look a lot like the disguises used by Bombman and Stoneman’s fake operators from the N-1.

What kind of guns are those? Laser guns? I’m getting ahead of myself, but in Axess we see characters using real guns, so this now seems kinda childish.

Gauss appears before them with madoi wearing masks, because apparently Higure never told Netto that his investor from episode 34 was Gauss Magnets. XP

Gauss reveals to them that the meeting was a trap for the Net Agents and the members take off their disguises, turns out they were all robots, and I am not surprised.

They ARE laser guns! If they were human, then what were they planning to do?Taze them or threaten to cook them alive?

Saloma and Miyuki shoot at the robots with their space era guns, and even Netto tries join in the action by attacking some of the robots.

You are not the monkey king and you are not Rockman either! That would be until Axess. X(

The Commander saves him and Netto then challenges Gauss to a Net Battle because that’s how you defeat the villains in the Battle Network universe.

That... That didn’t work? Am I finally watching a competent shonen anime? O-O

Gauss tells them that his plan was to kill the Net Agents, and luckily for him, they brought Netto so he can kill him too. The room begins to flood, and Madoi apparently has standards because hearing Gauss wanting to kill Netto makes her uncomfortable and talks to him about it after they exit the room.

“Directly” is the key word here. World Three were actually cowards who liked to injured people indirectly by making their Navis set homes on fire, try to crash a train full of people and nearly polluting the water of an entire city. What are you trying to say here, Madoi?

As the room keeps filling up with water, the commander gets a cramp and Rockman tells Netto that there must be a computer from where he can stop the water, and Netto remembers that he saw a jack-in port like two minutes ago with a flashback.

In cased you missed that the first time.

Netto dives and plugs in Rockman underwater because everything is water proof in this world. Gauss discovers this and decides to change his waredrobe to fight Rockman.

I’m starting to think Wily fan girl is the best description for him right now.

Rockman is attacked by Magnetman, Netto tries to send him battle chips to fight, but he is having trouble holding his breath under water.

Magnetman keeps attacking Rockman as Netto swims back to the surface where Commander Beef still has a cramp for another breath of air, but its so deep that he can’t hold his breath long enough to focus on the battle. 

We then see Madoi talking to the life size statue of Wily about how it feels wrong to be working for Gospel, but then she remembers the gift Mahajarama gave her.

Magnetman summons his twin and gets ready for the N-S tackle to finish off Rockman. The two spheres head towards Rockman until they are intercepted by Coloredman’s ball that also breaks a giant faucet that apparently was the program flooding the room and the dreinage system is activated somehow.

Madoi tells Gauss that she is gonna quit Gospel because it is trash compared to the World Three, why? Because, according to her, the World Three... had... Love?.

See? Even Coloredman doesn’t understand her nonsense!

The Magnetmen attack Coloredman again and Rockman protects him with a barrier. Right after that, the Net agents and Netto suddenly appear in the organ room where Gauss and Madoi are, and I like how Netto called Gauss cross dresser. XD

Netto tells Gauss it’s payback time and activates the Elec Brother Style. Unsurprisingly by now, Madoi knows about the Elec Brother’s ability and passes an extension chip to Netto so he can download Coloredman’s data into Rockman. And if you’re a football/soccer fan you’ll like this little scene.

GOOOOOOOOL!!!!

Rockman finishes Magnetman with his Terra Volt and Gauss whines about it like a girl before escaping on his weird flying machine he activates in front of everyone.

At least this time we don’t get to see the whole room remodeling and airship building scene.

Netto thanks Madoi for helping them, Madoi says she only did it for herself and then gives Netto the curry coupon before leaving.

And we end the episode with the Ex-WWW discovering a life size Wily statue in front of their restaurant with Madoi eating curry inside, just happy with being where she is.

My thoughts?

This was a Madoi episode so we get to learn more about her character. I don’t blame Madoi for wanting to do something better with her life, she knows that she has no future working at a curry restaurant in a sad attemp of reviving World Three. You already know that I am not a fan of these guys, but I was actually happy for her since she showed some real character development.

Another thing that I like about Madoi in this episode is that she is not really a bad person, she doesn’t like to be directly involve with hurting people and she saw the World Three as her family. Maybe she came from a broken home, maybe her real family sucks and she found comfort in joining the WWW. Sure, they did bad things, but Madoi never did what she did with evil intentions, she did it so Wily would praise her for her efforts and get a laugh out of the misfortune of others, could it be a daddy issue or something?

The animation was okay, the story too, and I’m glad they cut that scene with Gauss’s Wily collection because it was just too weird and it compleately makes Dr. Wily, the main villain of the classic Megaman/Rockman series, look like a joke.

*Now, let me explain about Netto’s group costume in case you didn’t get it, this will be long.

First, It may be confusing to hear the name Son Goku because the first thing that comes to mind is the Dragon Ball series. Well, let me tell you that Dragon Ball was loosely based on the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West” with the famous Monkey king as one of the main characters. Goku was actually based on the monkey king, hence the monkey tail he had, his growing staff, the flying cloud, and because of his name. In China, the Monkey king’s name was Sun Wo Kung, but in Japan he is knowen as Son Goku, I dont know if this is a different name or it’s just how they pronounce it Japan.

Second, if you are familiar with the original story of Journey to the west, you’ll notice that Yaito and Meiru’s costumes are out of place. Since they called themselves the “Saiyuki” group I imagine that it had to do do with cultural differences since Saiyuki is how Journey to the west is knowen in Japan.

After doing some research I came to the conclution that perhaps this is a reference to a video game that came out in 2001 named “Saiyuki: Journey west”, since it features a female version of Sanzo, the monk and main character of the story.

I believe that was Meiru’s character, and Yaito was crossplaying as Sha wujing because it was suppoused to be a bald demon.

Netto, Dekao and Yaito were the three demon disciples of Meiru’s character, Saloma and Miyuki were the dragon that shapeshifts into a horse(long story), and the Commander was one of the many enemies that the group would encounter on their journey. 

That’s my theory, but I still dont know why would there be a reference to this game if it wasn’t developt by Capcom? Either Capcom helped with the release of this game somehow, or the anime was just making fun of their competion.

Aphrodite V #2 is pretty damn great. Jeff Spokes’ artwork is instantly compelling, drawing in the reader with darkness and interesting angles into this increasingly enthralling story of a machine cult from the future by him and Bryan Hill.

Avengers #6 concludes the first arc in widescreen fashion. Lots of action and big ideas from Jason Aaron with gorgeous art from Ed McGuinness, Paco Medina, Mark Morales, Juan Velasco, and David Curiel. Again I’m reminded of those early issue of JLA from Grant Morrison and Howard Porter. This has been fun so far and I’m intrigued by what else they have in store.

Beasts of Burden: Wise Dogs & Eldritch Men #1 is a very welcome return, even without Jill Thompson for this go around. The artwork from Benjamin Dewey is beautiful as he reminds us that he’s one of the best nature artists in comics, and possible beyond. His animals are just stunning. The story from him and Evan Dorkin is also interesting, suggesting some arcane traps luring in the paranormal. Great stuff for all ages.

Big Trouble in Little China: Old Man Jack #12 concludes the series with an epic battle between the forces of heaven and hell as it teaches us the true meaning of friendship. It’s funnier when you actually read it. This has been an entertaining series from John Carpenter, Anthony Burch, Jorge Corona, Gabriel Cassata, and Ed Dukeshire, with this final chapter also delivering a nice farewell to the movie as well.

Black Hammer: Age of Doom #4 has some very interesting revelations that ultimately only lead to more questions than answers. What’s going on isn’t nearly as cut and dried as we were led to believe last issue and the mystery has just deepened. Jeff Lemire, Dean Ormston, Dave Stewart, and Todd Klein have managed to elevate this story higher again.

Black Panther #3 finally parcels out a tidbit of what might actually be going on with the series and the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, just in time for a surprise attack and more action. Thankfully, the art from Daniel Acuña is still overwhelmingly gorgeous.

Britannia: Lost Eagles of Rome #2 is even better than the first issue. The mystery deepens as Antonius and Achillia reach Egypt and find incongruities they don’t expect within this province of the Roman Empire. The artwork from Robert Gill (with colours from José Villarrubia) is probably among the best I’ve seen from him, really bringing some very strong work here with backgrounds, vehicles, and character designs that are particularly impressive.

Cold Spots #1 is the start to another horror series from Cullen Bunn, this time accompanied by Mark Torres with the artwork, and as per many of Bunn’s previous tales, this is a great start. There’s a genuinely creepy atmosphere from Torres’ art and the plot of a missing daughter and her child, amidst the spooky maybe-ghosts, is a good one.

Daredevil #607 gets into how there can possibly be a Mike Murdock running around New York and it’s an interesting and possibly hazardous diversion. Gorgeous art from Phil Noto.

Die!Die!Die! #2 is more entertaining over-the-top humorous action that feels like it’s channelling Garth Ennis. Great art from Chris Burnham and Nathan Fairbairn.

Hunt for Wolverine: Mystery in Madripoor #4 is probably the most succinct in sticking to its plot without real deviation of all of these minis. Basically sticking to the thread of these X-women tackling the Femme Fatales. It’s been a relatively decent story from Jim Zub, Thony Silas, and Felipe Sobreiro, even if the art’s been a little uneven. There’s a really nice sequence of Psylocke finding herself again in this issue, though, from Leonard Kirk and Andrew Crossley that has interesting implications going forward.

Jughead: The Hunger #8 is a great jumping-on point for new readers, offering a bit of a history lesson and summary reinterpretation of the events of the overarching plot of the series to date. Great work from Frank Tieri, Pat & Tim Kennedy, Joe Eisma, Bob Smith, Ryan Jampole, Matt Herms, Andre Szymanowicz, and Jack Morelli.

The Life of Captain Marvel #2 continues what is shaping up to be possibly one of the defining and quintessential Carol Danvers stories. I love what Margaret Stohl is doing in bringing out the backstory and interpersonal dynamics of Carol’s family. The art from Carlos Pacheco, Rafael Fonteriz, and Marcio Menyz in the present day and Marguerite Sauvage’s flashbacks is wonderful.

Mr. & Mrs. X #2 continues this fun ride, tossing in Deadpool and more of the lesser used intergalactic X-characters. The dialogue from Kelly Thompson is hilarious and the art from Oscar Bazaldua and Frank D’Armata is great.

Old Man Logan #46 begins another arc tying up loose ends before the endgame of Dead Man Logan kicks off. Wrapping reconnecting with Alpha Flight around a horror story evoking shades of The Thing and Slither results in a wonderful story perfectly fitting Damian Couciero’s artwork.

The Punisher #1 is both a continuation of Matthew Rosenberg’s stories and ideas from the last volume of the series and a kind of back-to-basics approach to Frank Castle. Basically, he’s lost the War Machine suit, but he’s still taking on the world-spanning super-villains. It’s pretty epic and this is great jumping-on point. The dark humour is perfect, reminding me of Garth Ennis’ work with Castle, and seriously this is probably the best art that Szymon Kudranski has ever done. Along with Antonio Fabela’s colours, it’s like he was born to draw The Punisher.

Royal City #14 is an introspective end of saying farewell to the past and accepting change to move forward. This has been an interesting series from Jeff Lemire, focusing on his most often used theme of family, and it’s been a good exploration of their different dynamics.

The Sentry #3 is pretty dark, telling the flipside of the first two issues from Billy Turner’s perspective as he goes about stealing Sentry’s identity. This is almost at Kid Miracleman levels of demented. Jeff Lemire is playing with some interesting ideas here, beautifully brought to life by Kim Jacinto, Joshua Cassara, and Rain Beredo.

Shadowman #6 has some truly beautiful artwork from Renato Guedes, as this arc of Jack falling through time visiting the different holders of the shadow loa takes an interesting turn in ancient history.

Shanghai Red #3 is probably the best issue to date, as Molly reunites with Katie, recriminations are hashed out, and we get a bit of a tour of Portland. Christopher Sebela, Joshua Hixson, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou have tapped into something unique here, and this tale of revenge and some of the lesser told side of American history is incredibly compelling.

TMNT #85 brings Leatherhead back into the fold, with very interesting and potentially dangerous ramifications following the war between the Utroms and Triceratons. Brahm Revel’s clothes-peg take on the Turtles is an interesting visual choice.

The Thrilling Adventure Hour #2 I find better than the first issue. The humour hits home a bit more for me and the leads of Sadie and Frank don’t seem nearly as insufferable as the first issue. The art, though, from MJ Erickson and Brittany Peer is just as good as the first. Entertaining stuff.

Venom #5 is another great issue. The mythology-building in this series is just incredible, growing Venom and his world into so much more. Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman, JP Mayer, Frank Martin, and Clayton Cowles are creating magic.

West Coast Avengers #1 is a great debut, filled with action and humour, as this highly dysfunctional team comes together. It’s nice to see Kelly Thompson doing more Hawkeye and Hawkguy, and the collection of characters coming together to make up the team are bizarre and fitting, carrying on a few of the themes and plot developments of the previous Hawkeye and America series. Though you needn’t have read any of that before you pick this up. Making it nigh unmissable is the gorgeous art from Stefano Caselli and Triona Farrell. This is fun.

Witchblade #7 returns for its second arc, continuing the extremely high level of quality that Caitlin Kittredge, Roberta Ingranata, Bryan Valenza, and Troy Peteri set for themselves.

X-Men Red #7 advances us a bit further as the X-Men attempt to uncover evidence of Cassandra Nova’s influence on the world and thwart her attack on Atlantis. Tom Taylor has definitely been taking a slow approach to unfurling this story, but it has allowed for the beautiful art from originally Mahmud Asrar and now Carmen Carnero & Rain Beredo time to breathe.
