Kengan Omega Thoughts

I finally caught up with Kengan Omega now and I... Um, What?

*Spoilers for the lastest chapter!*

I know I shouldn't be rooting for him because he's supposed to be a villain but for all things under the fucking sun he's hot. Look at him, he's pretty for being over like a hundred years old or some thing like that. Fucking aging like mf wine, jesus christ.

Mukaku dying is good because while he did care to some extent, he was overall terrible person. It's funny how he could've done something if he actually never gave up when dark Niko defected to the worm if he still trained our Niko and try to stop the worm. But his flaw of giving up when he knew he lost probably got him to where he was. Plus his motives to kill and get rid of the worm wasn't for virtue or the greater good, it was to get revenge on the connector for murdering his clan which resulted in him having people die because he instigated them.

It sort of falls under the theme of conviction, tenacity, and motive that Kengan has. People with strong convictions and wholeheartedly believing in their motives to fight gives them power and strength in matches and training.

Just something I noticed when reading the "save Ryuki from the inside" arc in the manga. (which I left of from)

If this chapter came out early 2022 or 3 years ago, I would be frothing at the mouth right now seeing Joji and Waka interact. I'm happy that it's canon that the two of them actually know each other. Dude, even Waka knows Joji is a troublemaker, lol. Though I'm out of my Joji and Wakatsuki phase, I still love them dearly. Especially Joji, the man is funny, empty-headed, nonchalant. I personally want to thank Sandrovich for including Joji more in Omega and making him as comic relief. He so himbo-coded, I love it.

Ugh, I love them so much! They have come a long way since the beginning of Omega. I'm so happy for them. Ohma, Ryuki, and Koga, nice development and growth.

I'm sorry, but this fucking panel had me cackling. I know it's meant to be serious and all but it reminds me all too much of this picture below:

Dude, you know it's serious when four of the most powerful people are in an absolute state of shock. The Worm and the Death Dealers don't play around. But I kinda wish they didn't make Shen be this over powered because we don't know who's gonna beat him. I mean, they already stated that Lolong, Agito, nor Raian could defeat him. Hell, we don't know what happened to Ohma since he witness that even the fangs of Metsudo are no match for him. I mean, it'll probably go down to more of Koga fighting him if anything but he'll get his butt handed to him. I wouldn't be surprised if Ryuki fights Shen because it's hinted that there are more then one connector since Mukaku put two and two after realizing that Ohma looked more like Ryuki then with Shen. I think it would be fun to hear that Ohma is a clone of Ryuki and Ryuki is a connector but was sealed away in one of those tube thingys in like the movies. That could explain why he doesn't remember much of his past besides training with Mukaku unlike Ohma who was remembers being a child in the inside.

So we know that Ohma is definitely a clone. Unsure if he's a clone of Ryuki and unsure if Ryuki is a connector himself. I guess we'll wait and see because it seems like the Omega is getting close to the end, like 75% done.

Nogi really is playing with fire and a hydrogen bomb. I understand and like his spirit. But Idemitsu makes a good point about all of this. I also liked how his reaction of shock is different from Yamashita, Nogi, and Katahara. Obviously it's shock but more of like "What the fuck? What the hell just happened?" versus the three's reaction being "Oh my fucking God, how did this fucking happened? What are we up against?" Idemitsu was aware of the worm and of its existence but only recently interacted with them. Whereas Nogi and Yamashita know what they are up against and how dangerous they are to the entire world. Katahara, on top of the two, has even experienced the Worm and even seen their atrocities as he had came across a Gu ritual where he ended up meeting Agito as he was the only survivor.

I just wanna see how this all goes down and what will happen to Ohma and Ryuki.

A Touch of Anxiety

Tsu popped her head just inside your door and smiled as she saw you and Ochaco talking in your nest. "Knock knock." She walked the rest of the way inside. "Deku is just finishing up dinner and the others will be home soon. If you don't want to meet them all at once you can eat in here, I'll stay with you so you're not lonely."

You thought it over for a moment before shaking your head. "No, no I don't want to put anyone out, but I really should meet everyone sooner rather than later." 

"You really have to stop thinking your existence is putting anyone out." Ochaco stated in response to you. "But I'm sure that everyone would love to have you for dinner tonight... I mean have you eat with us for dinner." She smiled as she got up and headed to the door. "I'm going to go get ready, meet you there y/n." She continued out of the room. 

"Get ready?" You looked over at Tsu as you could feel yourself begin to panic. "Are we supposed to do something special to prepare for dinner? I don't know if I have anything appropriate." You got up and started looking through your new clothes in your closet, desperately trying to look for anything that would be nice enough to wear for the alphas and betas of the pack but also nothing too formal. 

"Y/n please calm down, you don't have to change." Tsu walked over to you. "There's no dress code or requirement for dinner. Wear whatever you'll be most comfortable in, if that's the clothes you currently have on then that is great. All that you need is to be there and everything else will be fine."

You looked over at Tsu as she eased your panic. "You're sure? When the alphas of my old pack would have diners together you always had to wear nice clothes and be presentable. It was a big deal."

"Given what we know of your alpha pack that doesn't surprise me. No one here is ever going to expect you to do anything like that. If your happy and comfortable that is the best outcome." She smiled reassuringly over at you. "Come on, let's go out to the dining room." You nodded and the two of you walked out of the room. 

Dinner was only a few minutes out from being finished. You worked with Tsu to get the table set up, setting plats and utensils all around the table. The two of you were just setting the last place when you heard the door open. Suddenly the house was filled with sound as you heard several voices coming into the home. 

Your anxiety started growing again at the now immanent meeting. What would you do if they didn't like you? If they all hated you? Where would you go? You had no one and nothing to your name. If they hated you and kicked you out you'd be out on the streets. You'd never be able to survive there. 

Tsu looked over at you, able to smell the sudden increase in stress pheromones in your scent. "Y/n take a deep breath. Your thinking of the worse most improbable outcome there could be."

You looked back at her and nodded before taking a deep breath and slowly letting it go. She was right, the worse thing that could have happened, or more so that you thought could happen, already had happened. Your life was already thrown into chaos. You were kidnapped by villains, discovered as an omega, and forced to leave the only family and pack you'd ever known for your own safety. You handled all of that easily with new friends by your side. There was no way that meeting this new pack would result in anything as jarring as what had already happened to you. 

"There you go, just remember, no matter what happens, we are all on the same page and have all agreed to let you live here okay? Besides you already have all of the pack omega's who adore you, the rest of the pack will too. Trust me. I'll be right back." Tsu smiled at you before heading out to greet the other members of her pack. 

You did your best in her absence to continue to keep yourself calm. It was not the easiest task, keeping the spiraling thoughts away, but Tsu was right. You had already befriended Izuku, Ochaco, and Tsu. Even if the others didn't like you, you still had the three of them. You wouldn't be alone. Not anymore. For once in your life you actually had people who you could rely on. 

"Out of the way Extra's." You head what sounded like an angry voice come from the door just as a boy with spiky blonde hair walked in. His scent hit you just seconds later. He smelled like burnt sugar in a strangely pleasant way. You hadn't thought much about scents until that moment, strangely you didn't recall noticing the others with as strong of a smell. You'd have to remember to ask someone about that later in private. 

The other boy stared at you as he came into the room. You were frozen, like a deer caught in headlights. All the anxiety you had been working to calm came right back up. Something inside you, that same feeling from before, your omega was suddenly at high alert. The anxiety in you all but disappeared as your omega recognized the presence of a strong alpha in the room. You had never felt this way before in your old pack. It had to have something to do with the blockers you had been on. A small part of you missed not having to deal with these strange feelings. It was terrifying and only bound to get worse as you felt others nearby.

In Visionaries it's said that what happened with Paige was ten years ago, when Derek was 15. That was said in 3a. Making Derek 24 at the very least in s1

Two, Scott did not 'start things' in 206.

Unless you consider trying to peacefully talk to someone 'starting it'

Scott did NOT attack the pack, he did not attack Derek. He just went to talk to Boyd, to warn him, so he wouldn't make the worst mistake of his life.

And it wasn't just because 'he was bitten against his will', though I'm sure part of that impacted Scott's feelings on the matter.

It was because both Scott and Derek heard Gerard say he was dropping the code, and was going to kill every werewolf in town, regardless of age. This speech of Gerard's after killing the feral Omega was made before Derek even bit Isaac.

Derek had been controlling and manipulative of Scott, of his betas since s1. His motivations, his fear, his trauma does not excuse his actions.

His trauma does NOT make him younger.

Being a born wolf does NOT make him more violent. the one thing being a born wolf affects, is that it supposedly makes it easier to control the shift. Neither Laura, nor Talia were 'naturally more violent'

And Peter was more violent because he's a psychopath, not because he was a born wolf.

Look, I love Derek, he's one of my fave characters, and part of why I love him, is because after he hit rock bottom, aka becoming a villain in s2, that he started slowly to change in 3a. because he learned from his screw ups, because he actively started to do better and became a better person.

Ignoring the worst of Derek's behavior diminishes his redemption journey, and makes him less of a character.

Update time for some good ol' Teen Wolf, ig? i'm on episode 7 of season 2, and now I am definitely seeing some clips that i saw that was making me interested in the show as well as aspects within the fandom spaces.

Never understood the whole idea of Pack mom Stiles thing until I saw Stiles basically be the first to clock that 1, she is in seizure, 2, she may have an issue with the kanima venom (more than others) and 3, to be able to help her he needs to go to Derek cause Scott defo doesn't know. I didn't see it in the beginning, but I can see what people are seeing in it.

Another aspect, Stiles predicting Matt as the villain was such a rewarding scene. Mainly because I have been spoiled, I don't mind them, sometimes I actively look for them to see how the writers handle certain characters plus a summary isn't always true to what actually happened depending on interpretations.

You know what wasn't? Stiles' dad not being told. Or Melissa. Can these two be in on it now? Please? I'm mildly done with the charades on both ends mainly because the friction between two parties is simply miscommunication, plus it would be interesting to have Stiles' be open to this now so that we can see more of a struggle for the Stilinski family when the Sheriff *carries on* heading into danger when he knows. Same with Melissa, I think it would help create more stakes, but it will needed to be handled with care, that she can notice when a patient might have been involved with the supernatural which she can tell the sheriff. It'll make a good feedback loop for the adults, me thinks.

Onto Scott and Alison, I am noticing the writers are now ramping up a more heaviness to their relationship. This is no longer about puppy love but genuine wanting to carry on together, on both ends. And the touch with Jackson being used as the mouthpiece of the writers to foreshadow something more sinister lurking within Alison's future and her decisions. I honestly can not wait for Alison's either degression or progression as a character, as an aspiring writer who likes to study stories of any kind, I would have her digress to create a more nuance version of her character especially with her and Scott creating friction between each other. The friction I'm talking about is Alison's fear of being truly hopeless, unable to actually help herself out of a situation, this could be due to her being raised to be independent and to be a leader within the Argents. Scott on the other hand has a total Hero Complex, wanting to save as many people as possible, yada yada (mild affection now, he's grown on me), wants to be there for Alison *always* which contradicts Alison's want of independence.

Derek, so far, has been following a characterisation I would do for him (after that abysmal training set) cautious and careful with his betas, almost paranoid about their safety with mild disregard for his own in time of the full moon. I would like to see more Boyd though, you have an entire episode on him, and he doesn't get to appear in that scene??? BS, I want Boyd, Erica and Isaac have a moment of annoyance at Derek for being so careful with them. Would I have Derek explain to them why he's so cautious? Not fully, no, I would have Derek explain simply "I am your leader, I look after you and train you. And I need to look after you by ensuring you don't get caught between the Kamina and the Hunters."

Let Derek be a vague, paranoidly responsible Alpha that noticed that his first method didn't help for shit and changing the curriculum for these three because Scott's training was a *mess* and not some fucking dictator alpha guy. But knowing the writing team they most likely will mishandle Derek's character like a child given a machete in the garden which is disappointing.

That's all I got so far, but enjoy my ranting about what happened so far.

Dabi, Dabi, Dabi.

No one expected him to be an omega. He wasn��t the sort of guy that acted like one. A bad attitude, a proclivity for drugs and alcohol, and a tendency to kill people and commit arson didn’t a typical omega make....

But it did make Dabi.

You lived on the wrong side of the tracks. With a quirk that was more suited for villainy than heroism, people in the nicer areas of town tended to shun you, but you fit right in with the criminals that made up Musutafu’s black market. You never did anything big—you really weren’t super interested in becoming a villain. Making a statement and changing the world really wasn’t your style, something that a lot of people might find strange. You were an alpha, after all; a lot of the top pros—and scariest villains—were, but you just didn’t really care.

Odd jobs were how you got by. Delivering illegal tech, helping out at the unlicensed urgent care, running errands...there was never a dull day on your side of town. 

That became especially apparent on the night that you met him.

You smelled him first. A scent that was so acrid it nearly brought tears to your eyes, and for a moment, you thought that there was a fire raging nearby.  It wasn’t entirely out of the question--arson was fairly common in your neighborhood, bored hoodlums with fire quirks getting their kicks burning down abandoned buildings or crumbling apartments with wiring that was significantly less-than-up-to-code going up in flames on their own. 

This was stronger than the scent of a burning building though. This was...something else entirely.

Then you caught a tiny hint of something a little sweeter, like incense, and you realized that you weren’t smelling a fire at all...at least, not your standard kind.

Something made you follow it. You crept down dark, narrow alleys until it was so strong you had to cover your mouth and nose with your hand, something egging you on. Underneath the almost painfully strong smoky scent, there was something mouth watering, a heavy, almost pungent smell, one that you could manage to place:

Omega in heat. 

Any other alpha might have been on edge, put off by the way that this omega smelled so aggressive even while they were in such a needy state, but you either didn’t care or didn’t notice. Maybe it was stupidity. Maybe you had grown too comfortable being an alpha in the villain world. Maybe you thought, on some level, that you were untouchable, and that no one, especially not an omega, could take you down. 

Whatever the reason, you walked right up to an old, run down warehouse, and you found him.

Dabi didn’t want you there. Even with his chest heaving and his pupils blown wide, a sheen of sweat covering his forehead, he snapped and threatened to kill you. You could just barely see his bright blue eyes through the crack in the door, but you were already smitten.

“Fuck off!” he snarled. “Turn right the fuck around, or I’ll gut you like a fucking fish and light your corpse up!”

A small arc of blue flames jetted out towards your feet in a warning, but you were only mildly concerned. Your quirk took care of them, dousing the fire before it could touch you, and you offered the omega a grin. There was only one guy in town with flames so hot they burned blue.

“Need some help, Dabi?”

“Not from you,” he growled. “Just fuck off. Leave me alone.”

But his strong heat-scent betrayed him. He wanted help--he wanted you--whether he was willing to admit it or not.

“Look, I’ll leave as soon as your heat’s over with.” you offered. “Just...let me help you through it.”

“No fucking way.” he hissed, daring to open the door a bit further despite his warnings.

As you got a better look at him, you realized that you were hooked.

He looked desperate and delicious, his bare chest heaving as his breaths came in heavy gasps. Every inch of unburned skin was covered in sweat, his wrist scent glands red and swollen and looking so easy to bite. 

Your teeth found your lower lip, sinking into it in as you thought about clamping your mouth down on him.

Dabi saw your movement and licked his lips. “Fuck...fine. Come in.”

And that’s how you ended up with your omega. Your angry, unruly, impossible to control, omega. 

He didn’t go around telling the league that he was with anyone, but he came home to you every night. Dabi had a knack for “finding” big wads of cash, and that, coupled with the money you earned from all your odd jobs, bought you a nice little apartment. He liked to take the fire escape up instead of just using the front door like a normal person, and even if you locked the window in an effort to force him to take the elevator, he’d manage to get in his way every time.

You couldn’t really complain. He was your omega, after all, and you loved him...or something. Was it love? Was it a comfortable, mutual affection? Neither of you had ever said the word, but that was okay. No matter how pissed off Dabi was when he came slithering in, he always came back to you. After a few months, he even let you into the “secret” nest he had been building in the walk in closet, and that seemed like a pretty big deal for him. 

The two of you would sleep in there sometimes rather than your bed. If Dabi was having a bad night, you always knew you’d be able to find him there, sulking amongst all of your stolen shirts. He would never admit it to anyone else, but you were his safe place. You were home. He needed an alpha in his life, and you were the perfect one--you let him do what he wanted, never trying to push him around, and you were there to keep him stable. You didn’t have a typical alpha/omega relationship, not by a longshot, but you worked well together, pushing and pulling in perfect rhythm.

He told you about his past, and you told him about yours. He complained about his painful burns, and you stole drugs for his pain. He got you whatever you wanted, even if you didn’t need him to, and you cooked his favorite meals. Together, you were happy. 

You were home.

When it comes to Vilgax... how would you make sure he's still the intimidating Darth Vader-like threat in your take? OS and some parts of the Reboot has the best versions of Vilgax there. It baffles me so much how come UAF and OV misuse him (with UAF Vilgax being SO DIFFERENT from OS and OV Vilgax being scared of Ma Vreedle... ugh.). Just curious how would you make sure to keep Vilgax very intimidating.

Well for starters I would never have him open with “Ben 10 I’ve come to kill you and conquer your world”. Felt like I was watching a parody when he said that. I think some of his coldest lines comes from OS and that might purely be due to Steve Blum’s performance. He just has a great demeanor and deliver that really sells what he’s saying. If I had to recast him, I feel the only person that could match up while still doing their own thing would maybe be Ron Perlman? I love the idea of him doing a gruff and gritty yet cold and calculating version of Vilgax.

I feel like setting him apart from notable “Big Bads” really just relies on motivation.

I don’t fully dislike making him a Darkseid pastiche since he’s supposed to be another big intimidating villain, but UAF paid less attention to aspects like him having a level of honor and even mild respect when dealing with his enemies and more on giving him pseudo omega beams. But even then, having him care for his home world’s inhabitants feels wildly out of character for the world-conquering warlord we’ve known him as. It would’ve made more sense had he just lied about that to get Ben to follow him and later find out he was treating his subjects as slaves. Feels more in character, but Ghost Town is one of my least favorite episodes anyway so who cares. I think Vilgax could operate on a code of ethics but only in that “You’ve fought well. I’d be impressed if your death was not imminent” sorta way? His ruthlessness and want/need to be the most powerful is what drives him and makes him intimidating.

hands down my favorite fic in the fandom right now. it’s the one that converted me into a Bakugou lover. if you have any fondness for Bakugou as a character then it’s likely you’ve read this one already, but if not, I can’t recommend it enough. incredibly depressing, but with the hope that comfort is coming soon in the next few chapters.

Bakugou is spiraling in the aftermath of Kamino and his friends are starting to notice. He's stubborn, aggressively independent, and less than willing to dig into his past, but after a breakdown that ends with a painful secret revealed, he starts to get help.

I rarely see mental health genuinely handled well in fics, but this one goes above and beyond. kudos to the author for doing such excellent research into psychology, and making the application of it in here not-boring. also, while this one does have abusive!Mitsuki, it’s done in a way that feels realistic, and how I usually will see it occur in real life, rather than just for the hurt/comfort feels.

fair warning, the fic can be incredibly triggering (themes of severe depression, PTSD, panic attacks, rape survival, abuse survival, suicidal ideation/attempted suicide, among other things), so be safe and heed the tw’s if you decide to read. legitimately one of my Top Favorite fics in this fandom.

Anyone in the underbelly of society would recognize him, after the publicity of both UA’s Sports Festival and the events leading up to All Might’s fall. The uniform he was wearing cast away any doubts about the young man’s identity.

It was a bit of a surprise that the little firecracker presented as an omega.

Or: there are certain types of evil that seemed too distant, archaic violations and perversions that would never actually threaten bright-eyed heroes-in-training in the clean, modern world...but sometimes those evils aren't as distant as one might think.

remember when I said that I love a/b/o fics that are full of plot and world-building and gender-induced tension? that’s this one. the OC’s are fabulous and you love to hate ‘em. also, it’s the fic that made me fall head-over-heels for the TodoBaku dynamic, so it’s got a special place in my cold, dead heart. 

be warned, there are rather explicit non-con scenes between an adult (OC) and a minor (Bakugou) in this one, but the author warns for them in advance, and you could likely skip those parts without missing too much if you need to.

Rather than the police station, Katsuki's friends bring him to a hospital after rescuing him from the villains. His wounds were minor, but it didn't make having them treated any less important. As it would so happen, Best Jeanist was also brought to this hospital after the attack.

Sometimes, small choices have a big impact on how a story plays out.

classic Bakugou hurt/comfort. this fic opened me up to the potential that could be a genuinely good Best Jeanist & Katsuki mentor-mentee relationship, and I kind of dig it and search ravenously for it in other fics now. I’m also a huge fan of the behind-the-scences Pro Hero Chat group.

Brandon and the others have shown that they love Stella for who she is inside and not for her looks, and Stella has grown a lot in that losing her face wouldn't keep her down as much as it would have at the start of the series (as we've seen in the Crystal Labyrinth episode, where she was able to joke about her "mug", compared to her reaction when she got spelled by Chimera). She'd still be Stella without her looks, whereas Tecna would lose part of her whole identity without emotions, so yeah I'd prefer Stella losing her face. Also my tecmy heart wouldn't be able to handle Tecna losing her emotions right after coming back from the Omega Dimension :')

Ah maannn okay I'd break up Aisha and Nabu just because I feel like they'd be able to handle it and still have a respectful friendship later. With brella, I think the heartbreak would be too much? Like, they wouldn't be able to just stay friends.

Tecna and Timmy are a set, do not separate. At least I could give Flora a girlfriend, since she seemed queer-coded to me in season 1.

Eh, I'm neutral on both of them so I guess Blicy? The ice/fire contrast is fun and very poetic.

Welp, however much I complain about it, Fate will still exist even if cancelled. I would rather we could at least compare it a well-written, faithful reboot that appeals to older audiences without being offensive. Hopefully, other shows would follow its example rather than do what Fate is doing.

17: Favorite loyalty mission? 

I have trouble between picking the one which gives me positive emotions, or the one that I will always viscerally remember more than anyones so im just gonna talk about both....

 Look, I just love Garrus’s loyalty mission except for those two damn mechs. They are the bane of my existence. I love them for the obvious shakarian reasons, being able to do shakarian after, and also the vibes of them during the mission. I remember my first time doing the mission, I was so struck by how much Garrus has changed from me1. Like you really see a glimpse of how dark he’s gotten after Omega, and it feels like a paragon shep kind of has this unease over what to feel about the change. Garrus still respects shepard’s decision but he also feels like he will do whatever he wants, so I honestly thought Garrus would shoot Shep during the confrontation with Sidonis. I like the fact that paragon shep is still trying to find the Garrus from me1 who wanted to do good, but needed help to find his own way. But I also think the mission is a reconciliation of that Garrus and the Garrus now, whos changed by the years and what hes seen in Omega that he can never truly be the same again. What highlights that is his line about not knowing what to do with ‘grey’ He’s aware of how he works and what he’s lacking, but I think being with shep helps him to gain perspective and reminds him about the importance of a moral code so he doesnt lose himself and forget who he’s doing this for.

Also! The shakarian vibes of that scene. I just love how much Shep vouches for his character, and how much she misses me1 Garrus. The fact that the main villain is Harkin... and Harkin made gross comments towards femshep in me1 is also 👀 I feel like that scene, my femshep realised Garrus’s dynamic is different now and they’re both on equal footing, unlike the mentor/student relationship they had before.

The only thing I dont like about it is that Garrus not shooting Harkin shouldve been his decision. I wanted a bit where Garrus had a clear shot but after everything Harkin has said he just decides for himself that its not worth it. Instead it feels like he realises Shep is just too stubborn to move so he gotta appease her.

The other loyalty mission that doesnt necessarily give me positive vibes, but I will always remember more than the others is jacobs. Jacob’s mission is so chilling, it’s so gross! I think I will remember it more than others just cause I always feel grossed out whenever I do his loyalty quest.

Derek Hale is a Villain in Season 2

“You’re right.  It is about power.”  It’s as simple as that.

I get a lot of push back when I argue that most of the things that happen to Derek Hale in the early seasons of Teen Wolf are consequences of his own actions, and I strongly resist fandom’s very popular ideal that the production chose to randomly inflict pain on Derek for unnecessary drama.   Derek was created by the writers to underscore certain points in Scott’s journey -- namely that emotional and physical trauma are not proper bases for making decisions and that power used for selfish ends leads to failure and corruption.  

Because for some reason it is necessary, I’m going to restate that one of my favorite things about Teen Wolf is Derek’s redemption arc, but one of the reasons I love it so much is because Derek hit absolute rock bottom before climbing up. 

When I make this argument, an accusation made against me is that when I say that a lot of what happened to Derek in Seasons 1 and 2 were the consequences of his own actions, I’m really saying that what Kate did to him and his family was his fault.   I would never say that; what I am saying is that what happened six years before the start of the show is not as relevant as people make it out to be.  My opponents claim that they don’t use Kate’s sexual abuse of Derek and her murder of his family as a way to excuse his actions, but, on the other hand, they certainly believe that it renders any consequences he faces for his later decisions unfair.  

I’m not talking about some cosmic force of balance either.   I’m talking about actions Derek took that had direct and logical consequences. I’ll go over them.

Jackson:  At the end of Season 1, Derek gave Jackson the Bite.  This is after Derek successfully diagnosed Jackson as an unstable narcissist, with sentences like “You know, I bet you haven't had a day in your whole life - where you haven't been afraid of something” and his amazing take down (with a bit of self-projection) in the Hale House as he was talking himself up into murdering Jackson.  

Derek created the kanima.  Scott may have excused him, but the truth is that Derek Bit Jackson without giving a single thought to what might happen.  Take Jackson’s first full moon.  Where was Derek?  When he needed something from Scott, he certainly could surveille his uncle’s beta effectively.  Instead, he left Jackson unsupervised because he didn’t really care.  But the worst part is when Derek showed up at the high school the next day.  He confronts Jackson, who is a little shit (as fanon likes to describe white boys being mean to other people), about being pack but then witnesses black blood pour from Jackson’s ears and nose.  What does the alpha do?  He leaves him to die.  Either Derek understood that Jackson was dying and chose to abandon him, or Derek didn’t understand what was happening and chose to abandon him.  What do you think would have happened if Derek had been a responsible adult alpha and took care of his beta?  I guarantee you Season 2 would have been a lot different.  What the kanima did, including what he did to Derek, is Derek’s fault, just as much as the Monster’s rampages are Victor’s fault in the novel Frankenstein.    

Lydia:  Peter savaged Lydia in Formality (1x11).  At that time, Derek was captured, but still on Team Peter.  And afterward?   Derek acted as if she didn’t exist; he didn’t even check up on her.  She didn’t turn into a werewolf, so what was the point in his paying attention to her?   Pressuring Scott to join would make Derek more powerful, just as Jackson and other betas would.  He did nothing for five episodes to look after the girl his uncle transformed, until he decided to murder her based on a supposition and an old wive’s tale that turned out to be wrong.  

What if Derek, who passes himself off as a supernatural expert (”You think your little buddy Stiles can just google werewolves, and now you got all the answers, is that it? You don't get it yet, Scott, but I'm looking out for you.” 1x02) had come to her and tried to figure out what was wrong with her?  What if he had earned her trust and she had told him -- because he had been honest and helpful with her -- that she was seeing his uncle everywhere?  Do you think he would have still been caught flat footed by Peter’s resurrection plan?  Instead, the first thing he does concerning Lydia is order her death!

Scott:  This one is easy.  Derek’s defenders act like the subterfuge Scott played on Derek in Season 2 came out of the blue.  It had nothing to do with the number of times that Derek had concealed information from him (the existence of the alpha who bit him, the fact that he bit Jackson), had outright lied to him (the so-called cure), had betrayed him (Derek with Peter in the locker room shower), had demonstrated incompetence (”This is your fault!  I know, now get in the car and help me!”), had inflicted pain as an expression of dominance (beating Scott and stepping on his neck because Scott tried to talk Boyd out of the Bite, when it had already happened), and had attempted murder (in his house!).  There were ways for Season 2 Derek to earn Scott’s loyalty after Season 1, but Derek took it as a given because “I’m the alpha now.”

Stiles and Allison:  Stiles was scared of Derek.  He does not have the compassion of Scott, and he saw Derek as a threat to the people he loves, especially after he saved Derek’s ass in Abomination and then Derek turned around and said “I’m gonna murder your crush because this bullshit test I made up.”  Stiles recognized a ‘pattern of violence’ in Derek’s behavior, and as late as 17 episodes into the show, tried to get Allison to murder him with a crossbow bolt to the head.   And Allison?  Everyone hates Allison for falling under Gerard’s spell, but it would take significant denial not to realize that Allison had every reason to believe that Derek could have bit her mother on purpose, after Allison had spent all the previous episodes trying to clean up the mess he created.  She turned against her own family to save Derek’s first beta, and his response was to send that beta, Isaac, and Erica to beat her up and murder her best friend.

The Hale Betas:  The prevailing attitude in the fandom is that he was trying to create a found family, but that just doesn’t fit with Derek’s actions.   In Omega, a panicked Scott asks him what are the Argents doing? His answer.  “Declaring war.”  Then they listened as Gerard declared the Code null and void and that he was going to kill them all.  And what did Derek do?  He found three desperate kids and turned them into child soldiers.   He bit Isaac and then, when his own monster killed Isaac’s father, sent him to school instead of establishing an alibi or getting a lawyer.  When that disaster was resolved -- with Stiles and Allison’s help -- he decided, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.  After all, he could always make more werewolves.  So he seduced a 16-year-old girl and promised another boy friends, then he gave them war and meeting in a filthy abandoned building.  Is that what family is?

He didn’t create a found family.  In the time between the Isaac’s first full and Boyd and Erica’s first full moon, he said he didn’t have time to teach them to find their anchors, something Scott and Stiles, as amateurs, figured out between Scott’s first and second full moon, but he absolutely did have time to run them through combat drills and send them to kidnap and murder other teenagers.   If he wanted a ‘found family’ why did he send Erica and Isaac to murder Lydia instead of going to do it himself?  Was Stiles right? “It's got to be a pack thing.  Like an initiation. You do the kill together.”  Because just like Peter, he wanted to make sure they had no where else to go.   “You’re not a pack without an alpha,” he declared, when his betas told him they were scared and hopeless.   “You’re not leaving, you’re running,” he complained, yet he still had zero plan to stop Gerard.  Is it still found family if they all die together?  Boyd, Erica, and Isaac didn’t leave him because the writers were meanie-heads.  They left him because he was an incompetent, power-mad alpha, with the only club in his bag being murder. 

Derek’s abuse at the hands of Kate wasn’t his fault; the fire wasn’t his fault.  Gerard and Kate’s prejudiced hatred wasn’t his fault.  His desire to rebuild his life and self-esteem on the backs of teenagers he manipulated and used and visited violence upon was.  And that’s why he’s a villain.

270. Sonic Universe #3

The Shadow Saga (Part 3 of 4): Old Soldiers

So it appears that despite this being the morning of the final battle against his arch-nemesis, Eggman has suddenly become very preoccupied with the fact that Gamma rebelled against him over a year ago. We've not heard anything from Gamma in all this time, but apparently ever since it left the Egg Carrier during the Sonic Adventure arc it's been traveling the world, fulfilling its mission from the game to "rescue" (read: murder) all of its brothers, and expanding out from there into attacking various bases belonging to Eggman. Commander Tower back at the GUN base explains all this to Shadow and Rouge, requesting that Shadow track it down and find a way to ally with it, as it's so far refused to actually ally itself with any of the global Freedom Fighter chapters despite sharing a similar goal. At the same time, we finally see who Eggman is explaining his side of the story to: Omega, of course! It seems that Omega was built not long after Gamma was, but has been stuck in storage ever since, and is not very happy about it.

Oh, come on Shadow! That iteration of Metal Sonic existed for a grand total of like, three hours! Even a robot isn't about to change its mind about the purpose of life in such a short amount of time. As Shadow boards the helicopter that will take him to his destination, Eggman watches Omega depart while Snively informs him that the Dark Egg Legion is ready to begin the final battle against the Freedom Fighters. A few hours later, they're over the drop zone, and Shadow straight up leaps out of the helicopter without a parachute like an absolute madlad, because apparently if you're the ultimate lifeform you don't need silly things such as life-saving safety equipment. He notices tracks in the snow, and soon finds himself face to face with Gamma, who is uncertain about his presence here.

This is honestly fascinating and great, because in no other canon do these two ever actually meet. It's interesting to see how they interact with each other, given their histories and past affiliations. However, no sooner have they agreed to work together than Gamma detects another robotic presence, this one broadcasting Eggman's signal. Sure enough, Omega bursts out of the treeline behind them, guns blazing and ready to murder them both. It's excited about the chance to face off against Shadow, which it considers an even greater test of its abilities than Sonic, and is perfectly happy to annihilate Gamma as well while it's at it. Shadow tries to cover Gamma's retreat to the extraction point, but Omega isn't having any of that.

I don't know why, but the mental image of Shadow wedging himself into Omega's gun arm with a loud "THOOMP" sound effect is incredibly amusing to me, more than any other sound effect in this entire comic so far. Gamma hides from Omega while Omega does its best attempt at a villain monologue, going on about how outdated and poorly-maintained Gamma is and how its firepower can't match up to Omega's own. Gamma retorts from cover that Omega is unwieldy with its size and weight, that it's very loud and can't cover ground as easily as Gamma can, and this is because ultimately, Omega is a walking arsenal while Gamma is an assassin, proving its point by sniping Omega with several potshots. Omega concedes the point, but Gamma, as it turns out, actually isn't looking to win this fight at all.

Fun fact, by the way - in this issue Omega is portrayed as being massive, far taller and larger than Gamma, and yet it's exactly the opposite in the games. The difference between their official heights in the games is actually hilariously dramatic - Gamma is a whopping 7'1" or 215cm, while Omega is a paltry 4'11" or 150cm. This seems absolutely absurd, but if you look at their character models when compared to other characters in their respective games, it's totally accurate - Gamma stands taller than Eggman, who is already 6'1" or 185cm, while Omega is shown to be not actually that much taller than Shadow or Rouge when standing next to them. That said, Omega actually weighs far more, so Gamma's assessment of its abilities is pretty accurate in this issue.

Anyway, Omega unleashes a deadly barrage of ammo on Gamma, just as Gamma announces that it's completed an "upload." All that's left of Gamma after the blast is a smoking crater, with the Flicky bird that's served as its soul all this time flying away happily, finally free of its metal prison. Shadow arrives just in time to see it all happen, and is horrified at his failure to protect Gamma, but then Omega starts freaking the hell out, yelling about a virus in its systems. The voice of Gamma speaks through Omega's body, revealing that it uploaded the portions of its code pertaining to free will into Omega. Their two personalities merge into a new being, a fully sentient one that's capable of feeling emotions, though it's still largely based on Omega's original personality. Omega is confused, not knowing how to handle suddenly going from an "it" to a "he" with a personality and feelings, so Shadow offers him the same deal he offered to Gamma before.

Omega, much like Blaze, has a pretty different personality from his counterpart in the games. Not completely unrelated, of course, but compared to game Omega's fairly composed personality, focusing more on consistent barrages of firepower and occasionally bragging about its abilities but also having the capacity for deeper, more emotional thought (such as its chat with Rouge at the end of the Team Dark story in Heroes), comic Omega is a bloodthirsty, murder-happy killing machine who practically worships fire and death. It's also worth noting that Ian has actually been wanting to introduce Omega into the world of the comics for years before this point, with Sega shooting him down for whatever reason several times. While I do love Omega from the games, Omega in the comics is known for how absolutely hilariously over the top he is, and truth be told it's probably my preferred characterization for him. Case in point, after Omega helps Shadow construct a small grave marker out of stones for Gamma, he threatens Shadow with maiming and death if he ever tells anyone else about his moment of emotional weakness. Once they get back to GUN's headquarters, Hope enthuses about her discoveries about Omega's construction while Rouge listens attentively and Shadow mopes. He blames himself for not being able to save another living weapon, even though he… kind of did? I mean, after all, while Gamma as a fully actualized personality no longer exists, the parts of it that made it sentient still do, and it willingly accepted its fate, so it's not like Shadow is some giant failure here. Hope then informs Shadow and Rouge of their next assignment, which cheers him up somewhat - she's finished recalibrating her teleporter, meaning they're about to take a trip into the Special Zone in search of another Chaos Emerald!

Alluring whispers, Chapter 4

Loki was so enjoying his current predicament.

He was in the interrogation room again. But Thor, Natasha, Tony and Vision hadn’t touched him yet. They kept firing questions at him, but he wasn’t answering in a helpful manner.

Loki chuckled. ‘How, exactly, is this an interrogation when you are all too scared to touch me again? Knowing that if you hurt me, my lovely little omega will have to come and heal me.’ He grinned.

Thor’s face was like a thunder storm, he went to charge at Loki but Natasha stopped him. ‘Thor, it might be best if you leave. He’s only going to wind you up again.’

‘Fine. I will just be outside.’ Thor grumbled.

‘Send my regards to Hope, brother.’ Loki called after him, chuckling at Thor’s grunt in response.

Loki eyed up the Avengers that stood before him. He was kneeling on the ground, having been forced there. But he hadn’t bothered to try moving, since he knew what he said was true. The omega would have to heal him again if they damaged him.

He was feeling rather invincible.

Hope was in her room doing some research about Alphas and omegas. Of course she knew about what she was, and what Loki was. But she had never really bothered to learn a lot about them, since she never in a million years thought she would actually meet an Alpha.

After reading up on what happened when an Alpha claimed an omega, she decided that she would just have to make sure that didn’t happen.

When she returned home, she found Natasha and Tony.

‘What the hell are you all playing at?’ She put her hands on her hips and glared daggers at them.

‘What do you mean?’ Tony asked, glancing at Natasha then back to Hope. But his eyes landed on the bag of cakes she had. ‘Ooooh, is that from Shaun’s bakery?’

‘Not for you!’ Hope shooed his hand away when he reached out towards the bag.

‘Aww.’ He pouted.

‘Answer my question. What are you playing at? Having me followed like some kind of criminal?’

‘Ah.’ Natasha said.

‘Well?’ Hope asked again, not happy at all.

‘It was just for your own safety. We are worried about you, with this whole Loki situation.’ Natasha said calmly.

‘If I need looking after it’s when I’m here! Not when I’m outside, Loki is locked in his cell. How, pray tell, would he get me when I’m outside?’

Tony raised his eyebrows and looked between Natasha and Hope. ‘Well… Fair point.’ He gave up, not able to think of a good reason.

Hope sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. ‘Look. I’m not liking this anymore than you all are. I really don’t want to end up as his omega… No matter how good looking and… strong… he is.’ She coughed to clear her throat and mind quickly. ‘He’s a villain. He kills and hurts people. You know that’s not my scene.’

Tony and Natasha nodded, both feeling bad.

‘We know. And we are sorry, Hope. We’ve just never experienced anything like this before.’ Natasha said softly.

‘I know. And neither have I. It’s scary. But we will get through it. Once he tells you the information you need, he will leave, right?’

‘Well, then… Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that he spills sooner rather than later.’ Hope smiled.

But she turned the light on and looked around, there was no one, or anything, there.

So she lay back down and turned the light off again. She rolled onto her side and closed her eyes.

‘Come to me, my little omega.’ Loki’s voice whispered in her ear.

She shot up, body shaking as she scrambled to turn the light on again.

‘What the…’ She looked around and there was still no sign of him.

‘I’m going crazy.’ She sighed and ran her hand down her face.

She tried to get back to sleep, but couldn’t. Then she made a decision, what would the harm be if she went down to try and speak to Loki? It wasn’t like he would be able to touch her or anything anyway, since he was in the cell.

Maybe she would be able to get him to tell her where the tesseract was. Then he could get the hell off this planet and she could get back to normal.

After she was dressed, she was careful to step over the sensor that was put at the bottom of her doorway. She didn’t want to disturb the team. She then made her way down to the basement.

As she got closer, she could feel his presence more and more. And when she entered the room, it was no surprise that Loki was sitting up on the bed, expecting her.

‘Well, isn’t this a delightful surprise.’ He smiled, surprisingly warmly, at her and got up to move to the front of the cell.

He watched her hover by the door, uncertainty all over her face.

‘Come closer, pet. I don’t bite… that hard.’ He chuckled.

Hope took a deep breath and walked towards him. She stopped a few feet away from the front of the cell. Loki placed his hands on the glass and licked his lips, he looked like he wanted to devour her.

‘How are your ribs?’ Was the first thing Hope asked, though it hadn’t been exactly what she had planned to ask first.

Loki grinned. ‘Better, thanks to you. I must say, I am impressed with your healing skills.’

Hope felt a weird flutter inside of her, but she pushed that away. It was just the omega inside of her that felt pleased at an Alpha’s praise.

‘Thank you.’ She said quietly, taking a deep breath. ‘Where’s the tesseract? What are you planning to do with it?’ She blurted out.

Loki narrowed his eyes briefly and then smiled. ‘Did they send you down?’

‘No, they didn’t. But I figured I’d try.’ She shrugged.

‘I am. Yet I have seen more of the world than he has. Seen worlds he has never even heard of. If you want, I could show you some of these worlds.’ He said in a sultry tone.

Hope’s eyes widened, she stood up and shook her head. ‘Stop… stop trying to get into my mind.’ She said bravely. Though she didn’t feel strong on the inside. It felt like she was melting from being in his presence.

Loki calmly stood too and moved to the front again, hands behind his back as he watched her.

‘I am not in your mind, pet. The connection you are feeling between us is just our natural instincts, our biology. And it is pointless to fight it. Why don’t you open the door, let me out and we can get out of here. I can take you anywhere in the Universe you’d like.’

Hope trembled, her body desperately wanted to open the door. But her mind was firm, saying no. Though she didn’t even know the code to his cell.

‘I… No, Loki… You’re not my Alpha. I don’t have to do what you say.’ She said through gritted teeth.

‘Then you definitely need to see other worlds. This one is being ripped apart by the mortals, it is falling to pieces right on front of their eyes but they are too blind to see it. They’re destroying it.’

‘So why did you try and take over such a place?’

Loki chuckled. ‘Ah, you’re a bright girl, aren’t you?’ He winked at her and slowly stalked to the other side of the cell, closer to her. ‘It was not beyond saving, those few years ago. Now, however, I have my eyes set on a bigger prize.’

‘I will tell you, someday. Since you will be part of it once you become mine.’

Hope rolled her eyes again in despair. She wasn’t listening to this anymore.

‘I am not going to become yours.’ She said firmly, though her voice had the slightest hint of uncertainty in it, that Loki heard loud and clear.

‘We both know that is not true, Hope. You are only lying to yourself and denying your body of what it wants and needs.’

Hope clenched her fists together to try and keep herself under control. She closed her eyes as she took a deep breath. Then she opened them again and tried to relax her body.

‘I’m going now. Goodnight.’ She said in a clipped tone, then scurried away as fast as she could. Rather relieved when Loki said nothing else and didn’t try to get her to stay any longer.

When she got out of the room, it felt like she could breathe properly again. Her mind not quite as foggy as it had felt while in there.

At least she managed to get a tiny piece of information out of him. It didn’t seem that he was interested in taking over Earth again. But whether that was a good thing or not, she wasn’t entirely sure…

Hope told the rest of the team about her little visit to Loki in the middle of the night. They weren’t best pleased to hear that she had went down there without any backup, but they were surprised when they learned that she got some very slight information out of him about his plans.

But they still didn’t know what exactly it was he was planning. Or where. Though they assumed he was going to be trying to take over a planet again, that seemed to be his style.

‘Maybe we should let Hope speak to him again, see if she can get anymore information out of him? She got more in five minutes than we got in five days!’ Clint said to the team at a meeting over breakfast.

Bruce rubbed his temples in thought. ‘I don’t think that’s a good idea. The more she is in his presence, the more bonded they will become.’

‘But they can’t touch one another. And it’s clear from the footage that she is denying him, her mind is strong.’ Tony said.

‘For now. Until she comes into heat. Which I think is no doubt imminent, due to an Alpha being in the vicinity.’

‘Isn’t that what the suppressants are for? To stop the heat from happening?’ Steve asked.

‘They should. But I’m a bit worried that because of how rare Alphas and omegas are, that they might have evolved so much that drugs won’t work to stop nature now.’ Bruce said, concerned.

The team all looked at one another, worried too.

i’m guessing heroes give birth in secluded hospitals who won’t give off their info yeah? but mido’s location got leaked somehow and yu got kidnapped by villains which then todo fucks shit up and got her back so since then they’ve been kinda worried about safety and shit

inko stands in as guardian for school related stuff most often since todo and deku are mostly busy

idk why i kinda hc todo’s mom as an ice dancer or something (look at how that boy works with ice that does not come from endeavor) she used to take the kids to the ice rink and teaches them to skate. todo still holds that place as a safe space and goes to the one a few train stations away from campus after he gets his shit together. he took deku there for their date and ends up also taking the girls there too.

rei gets out at some point, as she gets used to being in society again she stays with inko (and all might//SHOT) at deku’s old room when he got a place with todo. she gets along with them and also mitsuki. they have tea together and share embarrassing stories about their kids it’s great

yu and tsumu plays mostly at tsumu’s house which was closer to the school, they hit it off super well and they even talk about each other to their families, todo and deku are super relieved to know their girl has another friend. yu actually met mirio and tamaki already but are not aware they know her parents

so tsumu one day just “hey you wanna come over for dinner we’re having bbq you should bring your family over!” and they do come over cause why not i guess and then the 2 families meet and damn

their balcony is filled with potted plants courtesy of inko. there’s also a small bottle with a single morning glory flower, wrapped in a blue ribbon and a duck cutout stuck into the dirt

no one uses watashi in the house, yu uses boku, chi uses ore, yu calls them oka-sama and otou-sama and generally uses more formal speech while chi uses the more common -san honorific, not sure if this is relevant of anything but yeah. also todo calls deku bunny from when they started courting (2nd year)

VLD’s Puzzles -- Solved?

Okay, as I’m sure most of you know, Voltron has been very cryptic the past couple of days. There was the Tweet in binary yesterday (7/8/18), which I missed because I think it got deleted, but I managed to get a screenshot of it from someone.

This, when translated to text, reads “KURON”. So this may be hinting that Project Kuron is not quite gone yet. After all, all of those Shiro clones fell somewhere. Who knows what happened to them? And I think it’s safe to say there’s a good chance Haggar/Honerva is going to be our season 7 villain.

Then, there was a video released on the same day (7/8/18) with highlights from the season 6 episode “Monsters and Mana” (a personal favorite of mine), and a QR code flashed in the middle of it. The QR code translated to a link, which led to an image.

I’ve seen people tearing their hair out trying to figure this out, and a lot of people have a lot of theories. I spent the past hour or so trying to solve this puzzle, and while my solution may not be the solution, I’d like to share it.

So, my approach was to take the title of each of the three episodes and take the first X letters of them, based on the numbers at the bottom of the box. So I ended up with:

“RETURN to the Balmera” (I’ve seen a lot of people say “Crystal Venom” is the ninth episode of season 1, but technically episode 1 of season 1 was three episodes so I went with what was listed as the technical episode 9)

“BEGIN The Blitz”

“OMEGA Shield”

Now, I at first thought the symbol in the middle was a minus sign, and I was confused. I was also really confused about the random T from “Begin the Blitz”. But then I put it all next to each other:

RETURN TO BEGIN T-OMEGA

It was a T minus! It’s a countdown! But omega is a letter, not a number. And omega doesn’t have a set value in math as far as I could tell. But omega is the 24th letter of the Greek alphabet, so:

RETURN TO BEGIN T-24

“Return to begin T minus 24″

T minus 24? Could that mean 24 days? I doubt it’s 24 hours, but again, who knows? But let’s stick to the more realistic 24 days. Is this a hint to the release date of season 7? We know that the first episode is premiering at SDCC, which is July 20th, so this would put the release date at 24 days from July 8th, which is August 1st. But that’s a Wednesday, and Voltron typically premieres on Fridays. Maybe it’s a trailer date? Or maybe they’re hinting to the week of? It would be odd to get a trailer after the first episode has premiered but we just have to wait and see.

Who knows. I just wanted to share, since I’m satisfied that I found a solution that seems to make some sense. Thanks for reading!

BONUS: Josh Keaton released a video of himself today (7/9/18) with cookies that said “471″ on them, and people have been trying to figure out what it means. My top two theories I’ve seen are that he’s hinting to something 471 hours away, which would be July 28th, which is Lance’s birthday. So maybe something will happen on that day. Or he’s celebrating “for 7-1″, or for the first episode of season 7 which is premiering before the others.

ALSO BONUS: If we went with “Crystal Venom” being the ninth episode of season 1, we’d end up with “Crystal Vbegin T-24″, which is why I don’t think they meant “Crystal Venom” as the referenced episode.

Why Shepard being indoctrinated should have been apart of the story

I think one of the most upsetting things about Mass Effect 3 is how there’s no choice. I’ve been drawn to Shepard’s indoctrination because it gives us a choice and it works. Shepard has been exposed to several Reaper tech objects throughout all 3 games. Shepard is not invulnerable. So in my opinion, the Renegade option should have been the Indoctrination playthrough. While the paragon is for Shepard to regain control of their sanity and finally destroy The Reapers. Instead of the Starchild, it’s Harbinger, Harbinger explains why they are doing the harvests. Dark energy ending is their reason. You can choose to reject The Reapers or Shepard can embrace the indoctrination. And then you switch and play as Shepard’s love interest to stop them. If your war assets are high enough, you can break through the indoctrination and bring Shepard back to stop the cycle. If they are too low, you have to stop Shepard and it falls upon you(in my case Jack or Garrus) to activate The Crucible and end the cycle.

Now another scenario is whoever Shepard romanced, are who we play as that person. We do not see Shepard, until Mars. We are all horrified to see Shepard as we see very plainly that Shepard has been fully indoctrinated. It’s up to us to either bring Shepard to light or stop him. Shepard chose to give in to Indoctrination after learning why The Reapers harvest every 50,000 years. He chose to become indoctrinated because of the cut dark energy ending. While Shepard is not only trying to use Harbinger to improve himself, and Indoctrinate other races to The Reapers, Shepard is trying to get his friends to see his side of things and if they can’t see his light, then they will die. If your EM is high enough, you can bring Shepard back. If your EM is medium, you are lead to believe Shepard is saved from indoctrination, only to see Shepard executing his love interest while their back is turned and lead everyone to their deaths like lambs to the slaughter. If your EM is low, you are forced to kill Shepard. If your EM is low and you lose to Shepard, Shepard wins and the life cycle is harvested.

Here is evidence for Indoctrination.

In ME 1 we have side missions encountering Reaper Tech. Then dealing with Sovereign.

When Shepard is brought back, he is brought back with Reaper tech. His eyes when full Renegade look like he’s being controlled by Sovereign 

Now in ME2 we have several points at which Shepard is once again exposed to Reaper tech. Side missions, human Reaper at the end of The Collector Base, Object Rho. Shepard was hitt by Object Rho’s wave and was knocked out for 2 days in CLOSE PROXIMITY to a Reaper Artifact and a big one at that! And finally Shepard’s confrontation at the end of Arrival. Now what does Harbinger say to The Collectors. “YOU HAVE FAILED, WE WILL FIND ANOTHER WAY” You might be thinking Arrival...but no. What if what he was referring to was Shepard?

Now the very first N7 mission in ME3 Shepard is asked to retrieve what? 2 Reaper artifacts. Small artifacts but still Reaper tech. And in all the time spent in the presence of Reaper forces especially Banshees.

Notice how the majority of Renegade choices are that of someone indoctrinated. Indoctrinated Shepard can sabotage the Genophage cure, kill Mordin and Wrex. Shepard can kill Ashley/Kaiden. Can destroy either The Quarians or the Geth and either kill Legion or lead to Tali’s death. Can kill Balak and lead the Batarians to ruin. Shepard’s Renegade choices are that of someone who is indoctrinated  

Even more alarming is one of the concepts was to have Shepard as the villain and we would have played as either Ashley or Kaidan and be forced to stop Shepard. “This was a very, very early idea for Shepard. In this image he has been forced to turn to Reaper technology to accomplish his goals (*cough* Saren *cough*) and hes being confronted by the new human Specter, Ashley.“

Throughout the final game, it sounds like Shepard is going through the reports of what Reaper Indoctrination is.

When Harbinger shoots his beam at Commander Shepard after the Normandy leaves, he purposely doesn't hit Shepard directly. He hits it far enough away to just knock him out. When Cmdr. Shepard gets knocked out, his dream is that Harbinger leaves and that he goes up to the Citadel.

While Indoctrinated, you hallucinate (visually and audibly) a lot. Remember the people on the derelict Reaper saying that they saw something come out of a wall that they removed? This is the same thing. Shepard's hallucination is mostly of that little boy. Think about it-when Shepard first sees him, the little boy is FAR away from where you see him entering that building after the Reaper's arrival. He would not have gotten that far on foot. Also, wouldn't his parents/guardian get him at the time of the Arrival? At least one older person would try to help a little boy that was all alone. While the boy is hiding in the air shafts of the building that you eventually go into, Husks would have gotten him and if not, the Reaper Cannon fired into that building would have. When Shepard runs over to talk to him, Anderson can see into the pipe a little bit and he can hear Shepard. Anderson would have gone over to see who Shepard was talking to (or at least asked) and the boy would not have gotten away that quickly. When the boy gets into the shuttle, the soldiers do not react to an all-alone little boy trying to climb in. They just close the door. Also, remember that just fighting against the Reaper troops can somewhat indoctrinate you. Throughout the game, James will ask “do you hear that hum? Is that just me?”

In a dream, everything is somehow referenced to something that you have seen in your life before-whether you remember it or not. The Keepers cleaning bodies up is something that they would be doing anyway (Shepard sees them every time that he goes by his "favorite store" on the Citadel) and the body that one removes the helmet from is Maj. Coats. He just saw Maj. Coats a few minutes ago. Also, there is no way that Anderson "followed Shepard up" and got ahead of him. The hallways that you see constantly contain references to the Collector base, Cronos Station, LotSB, the bunkers on uncharted worlds, and several other things.

When Shepard crosses the Chasm, Anderson represents the free part of his brain and The Illusive Man is the Indoctrinated part. As you may know, if an organic's brain is 100% Indoctrinated by the Reapers, you become a Husk like Saren and die once direct control is let up. If you do not save Anderson (the free part), the Illusive Man will shoot you, too, meaning that you have lost all control of your consciousness and are now a husk-ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL. You notice that Shepard did not even try to run or say anything if Anderson was killed.

If you do kill Tim, or get him to kill himself, that is a lot of the Indoctrinated part being shut up and Anderson, the free part, regaining most control. Once you go up to where the star child is, you will clearly notice that his voice is Broshep's and Femshep's voice being played at the same time with an echo added. Note that the Indoctrinated part of your brain is not completely beaten yet, as you are still in a dream.

Choosing the "Destroy" option is destroying the Indoctrinated Part of your brain. When Harbinger(taking the role of the dumb kid) talks about everything synthetic being destroyed and you are part synthetic blah blah blah... That is him talking about the indoctrinated part of your brain. With a higher EMS, you will see a cutscene of Shepard on top of a lot of rubble, gasping for air. That is Shepard waking up, realizing that that was just a dream. With a low EMS, Shepard will not get up, meaning that too much of his brain was indoctrinated and his brain was fried while killing the indoctrinated part off.

Choosing the "Control" option is giving into Reaper Indoctrination- you cannot control the ones controlling you. The Star Child even says it. As said earlier, a brain being 100% indoctrinated will make you mindless, where the Reapers can only "assume direct control" like with Saren.

Choosing the "Synthesis" option is... Well, what happens when you merge a organics and synthetics? A Husk. The "Synthesis" ending just makes Commander Shepard into an effing Husk. He would wake up (being a husk) and fight against others on Earth.**

Choosing the "Refusal" option locks Shepard in this dream as Harbinger somehow assumes control of all other Reapers, making them a lot stronger, such as when Harbinger is "ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL" of a Collector. The Crucible gets destroyed as all organics end up getting harvested and put into Reapers. The Humans, Asari, Salarians, and Turians are made into Sovereign-Class Reapers because they were in charge of the Citadel*. The Batarians, Krogan, Quarians, Hanar, Drell, Elcor, Volus, Rachni (if you saved the queen both times), Keepers*, Vorcha, any other race that I am forgetting about, and (hopefully) the Raloi are made into Destroyer-class Reapers. All of Reaper ground forces are treated like the Collectors and put behind the Omega-4 relay. All non-Reaper ships and most rubble from damaged cities are put behind the Omega-4 relay, too. The Geth that were not destroyed, but that still have the "Old Machine" code have replicas of them mass-produced and replace the Keepers*. The Keepers are killed off and the Geth, which are Synthetic. The Sovereign-class Reapers made from Humans (the apex race) stay behind. In 50.000 years, the signal will be sent to the Geth, as they will open the Citadel Relay immediately as the Harvest of the Yahg, advanced Pyjacks, and many other species that will be in the next cycle continue. It would go on until one race discovered the Reaper flying around, destroyed it, united the galaxy, and were able to defeat the Reapers.
