I just need every single person in this fandom who has ever been mean about Luke Newton to know that Nicola Coughlan hates you. Genuinely and wholeheartedly.

She hates you. Sure, she won't say it aloud, because she's a professional who knows her career lives or dies by fans, but please know that she does. She hates you if you've said Colin gave you the ick, especially so if you said it to Luke, she hates you if you've left a rude comment on his social media, she hates you if you acted like she didn't like him or that she was shading him, she hates you if you bullied the people around him, she hates you if you said something disparaging about how he looks or how he acts, she. hates. you.

And sure, it's not all people who are in her or Pen's fanbase, in fact a lot of people have been cruel about him outside of the Polin fandom, but a LOT of people are Pen fans, and hearing her talking about how defensive she gets over him when people say something rude about him? And knowing there are SO many stupid opinion blogs and youtubers and tiktokers who say they're Pen fans and Nicola fans but are mean as fuck about Luke?

I need every single one of them, in particular those who have been out here making up stupid shit to be mad at him about 'on her behalf' to know that when you say something mean about the man she gushed to her Mum about, and who her Mum was so excited to meet because she just knew he was kind, the man she introduced to her entire family, the man she is always reaching for and hugging and snuggling up to and calling wonderful and giggling around and saying how she wouldn't want to do such vulnerable intimate scenes without and complimenting and leaning on and having fun with and calling a special person in her life, she is taking off her earrings and ready to meet you outside in his honor

right i have to ramble guys cos Domestic!Ralvez is too cute this includes roxi!! + sleepy intimacy (fav mini trope) + lil spice

when spencer comes over to luke's apartment roxi would be sat waiting to greet him and it spooked spencer the first few times as he was uncomfortable around animals especially big dogs

he got used to Roxi since he realised every time he was upset or worried she would climb on the sofa and lay over spencer's legs much to luke's protests about roxi being on the sofa (which he gave up on after noticing she was stopping spencer's panic attacks before they even fully developed)

roxi loved spencer when she first met him (just like luke)

once spencer realised roxi was trying to comfort him and she was a big teddy bear he relaxed enough to give claps and pets

luke wonders if spencer loves roxi more than him sometimes

spencer says he loves them both equally

spencer and roxi love to have a cuddle when luke goes out on his everyday occasional morning runs

lukes runs used to be every morning but spencer always pulls him in for cuddles

every time luke says his runs are productive spencer mumbles back "cuddling burns more calories" and luke relents i mean how could he possibly say no to sleepy spencer

like spencer will be tried but reading a book AT A NORMAL PACE because hes tired and luke will see spencers eyes fluttering closed now and again and hell watch for a while and take the book away after 5ish minutes and let spencer cuddle into him as he reads the book aloud finishing the page/ chapter while spencer just lays in his arms

and lukes aftercare on spencer is just so dang loving hell lay spencer down and run him a nice warm bath with his favoured bath salts and essential oils and making sure its the perfect temp

but SPENCERS aftercare is phenomenal he cleans luke up giving him some water and sit him on the chair before changing the sheets laying back in bed with luke and just give cuddles for hours

in conclusion i love ralvez so much they are my cutie pies

Super Long Silena Beauregard/Luke Castellan Rant

Okay, so we all have our options on Luke's groomer/pedo personality (due to what he said to Annabeth), but the clearest evidence (for me, at least) is when Luke manipulated Silena's crush on him.

[definition of grooming according to the NSPCC website: "Grooming is when someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them."]

Firstly, background info: In TLO, Silena confesses that, before dating Charlie, she had a crush on Luke. She found him charming and good-looking, all factors that are no doubt credible to Hermes being his father. Luke manipulated this crush to get her to spy on CHB for him. After she started dating Charlie, Luke couldn't use the crush anymore, so he changed tactics; assuring what they were doing was for a good cause. He then threatened to hurt her boyfriend and tell people that she was a traitor.

Next, ages: In TLO, Silena is 18 and Luke is 23, and it's confirmed that her and Charlie were dating for a bit over a year, since Silena was 17 and Luke was 22. So, with an educated guess, Luke preyed on Silena's crush when she was 16 or younger, most likely right before he left CHB. When he left CHB, he was 19 and Silena was 14.

Luke, at the GROWN age of 19 (more likely than not) used the crush a 14 YEAR OLD CHILD had on him to convince her to be a spy. Then, at the GROWN age of 22, threatened the 17 YEAR OLD CHILD and her boyfriend to stay a spy for him.

That is horrific. If he had just claimed to be fighting for a good cause to manipulate her, it might not have been so disgusted. That was his belief and he's entitled to that. But the fact that a grown ass-man knowingly used a child's crush on him to his advantage is grooming and underlining pedo-ish.

Now to the more Silena-based portion of this rant:

I'd like to state that everyone has a right to their own opinions, I respect it. That being said, I cant respect people who argue that Silena was a awful person because she was a traitor.

I can understand people not thinking of her as a hero (since I'm sorta those people), but to say she was an awful person for such a complex reason really irks me. Their only argument is that she's a traitor (or, at least all of the dozens that I've seen) and that's crap, because there was so much more to her betraying CHB.

As stated above, her romantic feeling was manipulated at such a younger and impressionable age. She was told that what she was doing was good. She had her own problems with the Olympians as most demigods did. It wasn't until she got with Charlie that she realized the extent and harm Luke was doing, but then her security and her boyfriend's safety was threatened. So what was a 17 year old who spent the past 3 years trusting this very person do? She listens. Because she knows what he's capable of, unfortunately .

After Charlie's death, though, is when she learned that it didn't matter how obedient she was. So, since she was no longer trying to spare Charlie's life, she decide to go down fighting against Luke.

I, in no way, think of Silena being a hero through and through. I think she was a traitor (not really by choice). I believe she live as a traitor, but I also believe she died heroically.

She lived as a spy for the titan army, but died leading the missing and probably most important piece of the demigod army.

She lived deceiving to her loved ones, but died changing the tides of the Second Titan War in the demigod's favor.

She lived morally bad, but died tragically beautiful.

Silena Beauregard, the daughter of Aphrodite, died as a hero.

I guess the one thing I can confidently hang onto is that Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton are both wonderful actors, and they are going to play the hell out of the material they’ve been given. Whatever happens, I will just be glad that it was them who portrayed Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton. That alone satisfies me. As much as we all like to argue and debate about their respective characterizations, we can’t deny that we have been blessed by two very talented people who have inspired these strong feelings in us. 💚

As the days turn into weeks, Spencer maintains his cold, standoffish attitude. He refuses to talk with Luke unless it's about work. "Luke, the unsub will strike there! Jesus, it's obvious!" he snaps at everyone. Luke stays quiet, knowing that Spencer is just masking his true self.

“Spencer, you are being an inconsiderate prick! Your selfish actions and dismissive attitude towards my thoughts and ideas are hurtful and unacceptable.” Luke grits his teeth, storming out of the room. The team falls into stunned silence. Rossi breaks the silence, "Spencer, I think you should go and apologise to Luke right now."

Spencer's response is immediate and defensive, "No, Rossi! he had no right to call me a prick and insult me like that." He sinks back into his chair, reading files, his anger and hurt bubbling just below the surface.

Tara speaks up, "Spencer, you're grandstanding. You're making yourself look entitled just go and say sorry to him hes put up with your snarky bullshit all week and thats the first time he clapped back at you. You should be grateful he has a long fuse unlike some people."

A few hours later around 5:30pm, Spencer is alone in his hotel room, pouring the small hotel whisky bottles into a glass. There's a harsh and quick knock at the door. Spencer opens it to find Luke, practically seething.

"What do you want, Luke?" Spencer snaps. Luke steps inside, closing the door. "Why do you hate yourself so much spencer?" he asks, standing chest-to-chest with him.

"Wh-what? W-why in the world would you say that?" Spencer stammers, his cheeks flushed. "I'm not...I don't..."

"Like men?" Luke finishes the sentence for him, his voice soft but firm. "Spencer, you need to be honest with yourself. You can not keep living like this.,,hating who you are"

Spencer's response is visceral, "I'm not gay! It is not right! Men need women!"

Luke's eyes meet Spencer's, and he speaks with quiet intensity, "That's not true, Spencer. Some men need men, some men need women, some women need women, some women need men...and some need both. You need to find out what's true for you, not what ever you were told when you were younger."

Spencer's defences start to crumble, "My dad said it was morally wrong and disgusting..."

"Well, your dad was wrong," Luke cuts him off. "He left when you were ten. That was nearly 30 years ago. You don't have to follow what he said before he abandoned you."

The weight of Luke’s words settles on Spencer. He sinks onto the bed, staring at his glass of whiskey. "...I don't know how to love myself..." he admits, his voice barely audible before downing the glass in one mouthful.

Luke takes a step closer, "Spencer, you deserve to be happy. You need to choose to love yourself. And I'll be here, whenever you're ready to.”

Luke gets up ready to leave so spencer can think and have time to himself “i'll be in my hotel room if you need to talk but i will not take your yelling fits in front of everyone anymore i will shut you down and yell back” he leaves walking to his room that's next to rossi’s as spencer sits there spaced out replaying Luke’s words in his head again and again.
