idk why it gets to me when people say that hawkeye and trapper were ''basically the same person''. i mean yeah i get it they're tweedle dee and tweedle dum and they share the same brain cell, but they weren't ever the same character
there's differences between them, a lot of them subtle but differences all the same. trapper can bring out the soft caring dad energy and adores kids, meanwhile hawkeye is more of a wine aunt who brings all the good presents every time he visits. trapper can be fiercely protective of his friends/lovers/patients, a fierceness that nearly made him kill a man over his patient dying. he's a lot less touchy feely than hawkeye and tends to keep his emotions to himself until they spill over
hawkeye is an open book compared to trapper, how many times have we seen him cry and breakdown? he agonizes over things and wears himself down to the point that they need to sedate him. he's also very protective over the people he loves and cares about but when they leave they take a part with him. he's usually always the one to initiate a prank or to take a stand on something he believes in, trapper usually goes along with it but the ring leader is usually always hawkeye
not to mention the big differences like how trapper has a wife and kids back home waiting for him, he's got more at stake, more reasons to get out of that hell hole. I could list more but this post would end up too long so just add your favorite differences in the tags if you want

previously on mylittleredgirl: [four seasons of m*a*s*h] [six weeks of screaming about margaret houlihan]
i have now finished season five disc one and a bullet point recap is due! [yeah there's more screaming in it]
bug out was a fucking DELIGHT
god i was so worried though when klinger had to trade all his dresses i was wailing internally. what if he just wears fatigues forever!?!??? but it's all okay!!!! that tassel mod dress he has on in "the abduction of margaret houlihan" healed me ten times over. his outfits have been 🔥 this season.
such a mix of really dumb slapstick comedy and "oh god the war is Right Here" drama and little character sweetness... love it.
and the family reunion happiness at the end!!!! god bless. i left my body for like thirty-six hours.
i really really love the tone they're striking with frank this season. they've walked back the cartoon villainy of late season four, so he's once again a relatively harmless clown. i breathed a huge sigh of relief. he's soooo much more fun this way.
margaret's engagement: bonkers. delightful. she's unbearable. there is so much wrong with her. i want to study her in a jar. i will never shut up again.
with this put together with some bits later in the disc (including that cut scene crayon joke lmao), did she somehow manage to trade DOWN from frank? is that even possible??? it's either that or this new dude is actually just The Exact Same Guy, but now she'll be the fool wife at home instead of the beloved mistress.
i mean personally if i were louise burns i'd be very happy for my dumbass husband to fuck around on the other side of the world for as long as possible while i enjoy the $35,000 house and two cars without him, but for someone like margaret who is far more interested in being wined and dined than running a household, this... may not be the field promotion she thinks it is.
hawkeye rising to frank's defense and him and b.j. enabling frank's little takedown of margaret at the end felt very real. sure, in the grand scheme of things, margaret is Annoying and frank tried to have hawkeye executed last season, but bros before hos.
okay how FUNNY would it be though if the "little redheaded nurse" frank planned to seduce was baker-from-the-nurses, because she would have scratched frank's eyes out for trying and not felt bad about it
and actually, that's a plausible backstory for the extra bad blood between her and margaret, too??? oh yeah. that definitely happened.
i actively missed frank/margaret as the disc went along though. maybe the show had stretched the tension of that relationship as tight as it could go, and it's nice that they get to do new things... but they're so funny and awful together and i miss them sharing scenes!!!
i really assumed - like frank did lol - that they would continue to rabbit around together, only now she would also get to string him along with the jealousy game, but...... well, i'm glad it's still hanging out in the background of the narrative, anyway. i live in hope that they will slip and fuck and it will be soooo messy.
FUCK is it possible i shipped that for real???? god. i don't know if my family name can bear this dishonor.
out of sight, out of mind...
...has taught us the very important lesson that hawkeye is 9000x more annoying without something to do (annoying to everyone else i mean!! not to me. i will happily watch him annoy everyone.)
him asking b.j. to visit him a million times a day 🥺
i'm almost satisfied now by the "doctor-experiences-the-role-of-patient" theme that i didn't get in "hawkeye." i suppose hurt/comfort fic can take it from here.
however i'm totally satisfied by how sweet it was to see everyone taking care of him!! and how much they love him!!
lt. radar o'reilly... devastating. i mean funny and delightful but it's mean!! so glad that boy is back in stripes. however they could have at least promoted him a little for his trouble. sergeant o'reilly???
i have already said more about the nurses (post here) than ever needed to be said. and yet. i'm quite sure i could say more if pressed
the abduction of margaret houlihan
........ will i never be free of colonel flagg episodes 😞
i love the continuing evidence that she has invested time in learning korean, and i really really really love the slow expansion of our perspective to include like oh yeah. there's a village where people live full time and it's literally right here.
imagine if after the war she becomes an ob nurse...
on the one hand, how do they not make frank do gun handling training. on the other hand they probably don't because it always ends with stitches and an accident report.
i sometimes wonder if mash was like jury duty for asian actors in the 70s. you probably won't get to say anything but they call you up and you just have to go.
dear sigmund!!!!!! this is another episode where people were staring at me through the window so i'll comment a little more:
the fandom's favorite guy sidney freedman deserves that crown. what a weirdo. talk about a busman's holiday for a psychiatrist to come to the 4077 for a vacation and psychoanalyze everyone. but for fun!
i really don't have a proper sense of the geography at play here because he really does like. just come by to play cards once a week. and drives through a war zone i guess to do it? he has probably sacked out in the swamp before when the air raid situation changes but this time he just... doesn't leave.
and aaaa!! margaret took her very special episode about How To Make Friends to heart!!!! she joined the poker game!!!
she had plenty of time to work on that lesson though because the jeremy bearimy time shenanigans are in full swing here at the 4077. we went from midsummer in 'the nurses' to a bitter cold march two episodes later.
i always kind of assumed the mash weather was loosely inspired by real human weather, but no, in fact the actors just have to randomly suffer in parkas or getting sprayed in the face to look sweaty in alternating weeks regardless of the surrounding conditions.
SUFFERING for their ART
also jfc b.j.!!!! dunking frank in cold water in freezing temperatures is a serious health and safety concern my dude!!!!
i'm afraid b.j. is still not beating the little brother allegations, he has just aged up from innocent baby to fucking gremlin
(i should confess that my little brother diagnosis is guided by the fact that in my complex family and housing history i only ever lived with "brothers" younger than me, and never older ones. but the innocent baby and prank gremlin stages are real.)
i made a note here of "margaret randomly drinking gin in the swamp now!!?!??" like the poker game was one thing, people could strong-arm her into that while she feigns protest, but ma'am WHO are you and what have you done with— and then the next note is "oh good she's still insane"
potter named his horse sophie <3 also he's collecting granddaughters, i think the count is up to 3 now. or baby sherry is experiencing a temporal anomaly of her own!
the letter radar wrote to the dead guy's parents and potter reading it... fucking ended me. please let harry morgan do serious bits more often, it's outstanding and far too rare.
it's not surprising that frank's wife changing (wearing pants! doing activities!) would stress him out, and not just because he's a dick. any of them would struggle with their families growing without them, because that means they can Never Go Home to the life they left!! (e.g. trapper losing it because his girls were getting older.) but it is kind of fascinating that he loves both his wife and margaret, and even said mid-fever that he wanted them to be friends, but he also wants them to be NOTHING alike.
all in all it's understandable that sidney would check in to the no boundaries motel to have his poker buddies shake it out of him, but he could also have taken his leave somewhere with indoor heat. so he's as crazy as the rest of them. <3
also they're not his patients he's just observing them like zoo animals so forget confidentiality he's absolutely gonna write a book about them someday.
mulcahy's war: i don't know why i have been misspelling his name with an 'e' the whole time because it was literally in the end credits of almost every episode for four seasons.
oh god he's so precious i don't talk about it enough. playing poker for orphans. feeling like he doesn't do enough while potter thinks he has the hardest job. that unrelenting positive regard for everyone. always with that little grin.
that little grin in FULL PLAY as he sneaks out of the house to go off to war when dad's not looking
radar should never be sent on a mission where people are bleeding when will they LEARN
corporal cupcake deserves every medal he gets!!!!
frank's foot fetish becoming his one true medical specialty is just. i don't know what to do with this. good for him??? do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life???
speaking of unrelenting positive regard, margaret's policy of nurses never talking back to the doctors in the operating room sure has taken a hit. i realize this is about frank being an intolerable ex, but i choose to believe that the detente between margaret and her nurses has turned the O.R. into a pvp zone. the next time hawkeye tries to seduce a nurse over an open body, he's gonna get wrecked and margaret's just going to shrug pretty and look the other way.
in conclusion: season five is soooo gooooooood!!!!! can't wait for disc two!

hawktrap, and if someone got there before me, beejhawk
(◕ᴗ◕✿) TrapHawk ✨
Ship It
1. What made you ship it?
Waugh, the first MASH episode I remember seeing was Dr. Pierce and Mr. Hyde, and the funny-turns-touching caretaking instantly set off the little shippy bulb in my brain. I love best friend ships, I love the love and affection between them, I love that they're a paired set and the support they show, and I feel like there's a really special quality to their friendship that makes them feel Very Important to each other. Plus they have great chemistry.
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
Kfksjsj low key got ahead of myself there. But the thing that keeps me hooked is how flexible they ss characters and their dynamic is. I feel like there's lots of angles you can take and lots of scenarios to explore while still keeping the characters in line with what we see in the show. I love that they're in sync 95% of the time, but those little gaps leave just enough room for drama or angst. I love that they're inveterate kinksters AND softboys who care for each other. They're just great.
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I mean there are certain common takes on both characters, especially Trapper, that make me cuckoo bananas rageful. The whole Trapper Abandoned Hawkeye and Broke His Heart thing 🔪🔪🔪 I will also die on the hill that Trapper Is Much Softer Than People Give Him Credit For and Hawkeye Is Much Stronger. Trying to think of how to phrase my gripes and opinions such that I don't come off as unnecessarily bitchy lol. But like, it is SO HARD to find stuff for these two that Works for me. I think they're more interesting and complex than they're given credit for.
Annnnd BeejHawk 🍵
Don't Ship It
1. Why don’t you ship it?
I feel like you articulated this at a deep level beautifully in your meta a few days ago lol. I mean fundamentally I am a Trapper Girl TM and TrapHawk is my One True Pairing, so this was always doomed to at best second tier "I like it fine" ship status tbh. But there's just too much friction in the relationship on screen, there's some genuine meanness and anger, they misunderstand each other at key points, and I don't see the chemistry between them. Being extremely petty and subjective for a second, I just don't like BJ as a character very much, I find him frequently mean and petty and annoying and unfunny. Hawkeye can do better.
2. What would have made you like it?
Augh. Okay, I think in a lot of BJHawk interactions that others read as shippy, I see an edgy clinginess that makes me Uncomfy. So BJ being less "repressed neurotic" and a little more ease in their relationship. Also the fundamental biggest barrier to BJHawk is BJ Loves His Wife and Child, and I don't want to like. Get rid of that aspect of his character because it's vital to him, y'know? But maybe more of Hawkeye corresponding with Peg and building up a friendship with her- it could even be comedic, where he's planning a surprise for BJ who's getting increasingly suspicious then is amused/embarrassed/fond when he figures it out, but just like a sense Hawkeye could be included in the family dynamic without being wildly unfair to Peg, or even just BJ being a little more liberated sexually such that it's easier to imagine them conducting an affair that doesn't IMMEDIATELY implode his marriage. I mean, BJ is the deuteragonist for 2/3 of the show, obviously I have thoughts on their dynamic and how it would change with a romantic or sexual element to it, but I frankly don't see Gay BJ at all, I don't see Bi BJ at all, he's sooooo heterosexual to me, so a more sexually ambiguous or chill BJ is necessary lol. Also more BJ taking care of Hawkeye, more buddy vibes and funny coziness! And like this is probably me ragging too much on BJ... IDK it's hard to say how Hawkeye would need to change, he's already trying to be a good friend given the circumstances... I mean, for my subjective ship tastes 90% of my personal turn offs come from BJ, so Hawkeye is not really the problem in this ship for me. I guess something that really bugs me about the BJHawk fic I've tried that turns me off the ship is Sad Sack Hawkeye, so maybe more content with spunky prankster Hawkeye and co-conspirator BJ, or a proactive seductive Hawkeye pursuing BJ, romancing him, making it more of a "I want this because I want you" than a "I'm clinging to this because I need you" thing, which isn't sexy to me.
3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
Jfkdndkdn. Yeah, I guess. It's not like. A bad ship. I get it. They were The Pair for 8 seasons, they have many many moments to build a ship on, it's not without merit or something. They're friends who've been brought together in horrible circumstances, they go through a lot, they're close, there's some great scenes for them. I think you can get some interesting scenarios out of their dynamic, though my brain runs a little darker and angstier than shippy. But it is just so very much Not My Cup of Tea in either the show or in the fan works I've tried. Even fics that were otherwise interesting and well-written and in character, the BJHawk elements were pure 😬 to me. Truly truly "Your ship is not my ship and that's okay" situation.

started writing some postwar mulcahy stuff, a lot of it pretty critical of him as a character, feat. BJ when i realized i care more about him and BJ as mirrors in GFA
standard mulcahy disclaimer: my interpretation of him as a character is heavily tied to his vocation as a catholic priest. given that i have an overwhelmingly negative view of the catholic church as an institution and an even worse opinion of volunteer clergy in asia in particular, that means a lot of my views about him tend to be negative.
i think that's a valid interpretation to have because he's a tertiary character and often isn't given the opportunity for a three-dimensional person to be established. and also because i'm primarily interested in MASH as a satirical critique of the army, so i tend to care about where a character falls in relation to the establishment more than i care about their personal drama. hawkeye and margaret are exceptions to that rule only because their drama is so varied and heavily focused on.
they really pushed the 'crisis of faith' with mulcahy in GFA and i'm not into that. reason being, i think more people ought to have crises of faith when confronted with the reality that their all-loving, all-compassionate god has an army of earthly foot-soldiers who often do not seem to be motivated by compassion or love. It is comical to suggest that this is the first time mulcahy has wondered "whether god is deaf" honey there's a war on. I get it, it's his finale drama, but i think the problem is that (to his credit) it's reasonable for him to have had such a crisis earlier on during any of the other heartbreaking things he bears witness to so i was rolling my eyes.
what i did think was interesting was the drawn-out interaction between beejcahy (that's what i'm calling it! sorry lol). here you have two characters who are utterly beholden to their belief systems, which are oppressive to them and oppressive to others. and you also have a show that is completely oblivious to that most of the time, rarely having either character question their beliefs. i would argue that charles has done more to grow his worldview and that is because charles' worldview is positioned by the narrative as a character flaw he ought to grow out of. as opposed to the famously virtuous and unproblematic catholic dogma or standard WASP nuclear family programming.
and as i mentioned with mulcahy because i don't have a range of character traits or drama to point to without headcanonry, i have to give a lot of importance to his being a catholic priest.
so BJ's got his american dream and mulcahy's got the catholic church. i think it's totally valid for mulcahy to not want to share his disability with other people, but i also can't ignore that it's BJ who helps him keep that from the people around them, who'd of course want to help him. makes total sense to me that BJ would be understanding of that, because he does it himself all the time, and seems to think that's worked out soooooo great.
i find the bit he says about having already done his time in purgatory annoying because you don't volunteer to go to purgatory, not that hawkeye or BJ have anything to say about that lol. i know i am being a killjoy about mulcahy's warm finale moment but i cannot see past the unintentional parody.
he gets on the truck without anyone except BJ knowing what's happened, not even hawkeye who by virtue of being the protagonist had a closer relationship with mulcahy than anyone else on the show. as with BJ, hawkeye verbalizes that his doubt that he will ever see mulcahy again and also as with BJ i am inclined to trust hawkeye on that one. Imo, it lends further credibility to the argument against any kind of 4077th reunion. this part of their lives is over, and closure is achieved but there are still some major things left unsaid. without committing to any one headcanon for postwar mulcahy (partially because he was on aftermash and i have no interest in watching that), my view of catholicism being an unreliable support system and uncertainty around how he will process his trauma has me leaning towards a breakdown for him once he gets home.

lol I didn't even realize this bingo post going around was an ask meme until I saw your tag.
You say I love you but I cannot stay and/or The problem with starting halfway through
I'll do both. Why not?
You say I love you but I cannot stay
Tumblr media
I love Sometimes You Hear the Bullet. And I was haunted by the idea that Hawkeye would write an introduction to Tommy's book and make sure it got published. And because I'm me, I wanted to write the letters Hawkeye would write. And then I realized BJ would be a complete weirdo about Hawkeye having other friends. Even early on in my hunnihawk days, I was into BJ being really, really weird about it (not that this is hunnihawk - it's just BJ being obsessed with Hawkeye and not understanding boundaries). And BJ *would* be so fucked up about learning how traumatized Hawkeye is/should be, that he would freak out and Hawkeye would have to comfort him. Thinking about this now I almost want to write it again but different.
The problem with starting halfway through
Tumblr media
I don't entirely remember where this all started, but I had a lot of feelings. I had already written Hawkeye goes to California, and I was obsessing over every little line where BJ flirts with Hawkeye, and I wanted BJ to think it was a good idea to hook up as the war was ending. This line in particular sunk it's teeth into my brain:
"I know this is an ending and not the start of something, and I wish maybe we could've started something sooner, but I want to know. I want to know what I'm missing"
Specifically because this is a terrible fucking idea and I've been there. But I was also just listening to Tegan and Sara's album Hey, I'm Just Like You, and the song Keep Them Close 'Cause They Will Fuck You Too invaded my brain and combined with my MASH brainrot and the hunnihawk and spewed out this idea of how they could keep fucking up at being together. I needed them to have a really poorly thought out last hookup that ate at BJ until he pursued something more, while Hawkeye convinced himself BJ was happy. And then I needed everyone to be gay and fell in love with gay Peg who gives BJ permission to love Hawkeye but also breaks the fuck out of BJ's heart. And I'm gonna take any chance I get to write love letters and fell hard for the idea of Hawkeye pretending to fish but just reading letters from everyone from the 4077.
Oh, and I was having thoughts and feelings about Hawkeye's inconsistency around messing around with married people.
I also wanted to fix BJ Goes to Maine (which I have a soft spot for, but BJ is too into his family and California to go to Maine, and he'd have to be 100% sure of Hawkeye, which he does not have the confidence for).
I promise I will get back to this series because honestly, I have outlines for several more fics. Even though my brain wants to give them a happy ending, none of the stories I've started give them that (although I have a self-indulgent little Peg/Miriam (my OFC) happily ever after planned because sapphic joy). Just lots and lots of misunderstandings and complication.
In the end, it's a story of two people who have wildly different interpretations of what point of the relationship they're in, and they never really got a start, so how can they have a beginning? And did they start at the end? Keep Them Close 'Cause They Will Fuck You Too is a post-breakup song that I decided to apply to a ship I thought I wanted to give a happy ending, so we'll see what happens.
Caveat to everything I've said here: my memory is shitty, and I probably talked about everything over on discord, but I'd have to track down late night conversations and rants from over a year ago to make sure I got everything.
I enjoyed thinking about this and wow do I wish my wrist wasn't as shitty because I feel like writing things down on paper but it is so fucking annoying to hold a pen with my wrist brace. Maybe I'll type some things. Also, this introspection reminded me how much I like to slowly rotate BJ as I consider what a hot mess he is and how much he can manage to hurt the people around him while he flails figuring himself out.
Thanks @marley--manson, I love answering your questions.

003 with Daisy Johnson and Kate Bishop
i am SO SORRY this is so late. the past two months have been a ride and a half for me
daisy:
how i feel about this character: I LOVE DAISY SO DAMN MUCH. she has probably the most compelling arc of any actual superhero in the entire mcu to date. she's brave and funny, confident and loyal, but she's allowed to be insecure and make mistakes too. i just adore her
any/all the people i ship romantically with this character: lincoln... rip... also kind of jemma but i really love them just as friends too
my favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: it's a tie between coulson and mack. daisy & coulson and daisy & mack are my two favorite dynamics on the entire show. although i do also love her relationship with may
my unpopular opinion about this character: i'm not sure quite how unpopular this is, but i actually really enjoyed her as skye? i know that some people in the fandom find skye annoying, and they're totally justified, but i found her really lovable regardless. i appreciate that even as they developed her character in such exciting ways, at her core she was still the same sassy hacker she was in season one. imo she had the best and most realistic development out of all three bus kids.
(i also don't love her romantic storyline in season 7- for legitimate narrative reasons, i swear i'm not just being salty- but that's a topic for another post lol.)
one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: okay i have definitely complained about this before and will probably complain about this again, but i wish they had let her have more of a reaction to the devil complex. you know, the episode where her BEST FRIEND VIVISECTED HER AGAINST HER WILL AND THEN FOCUSED MORE ON HIS REACTION THAN HERS? 5b can rot in hell. ugh. i'm not even angry at fitz at this point, i'm just angry at the writers.
kate:
how i feel about this character: i'm obsessed with kate. hawkeye is my favorite d+ show thus far (i haven't seen moon knight yet, though i've heard good things), and a lot of that is due to kate and her dynamic with clint. i think they did an extraordinarily good job developing her across only six episodes and i really hope we get more of her in the future.
any/all the people i ship romantically with this character: no one, really. are she and america a thing in the comics? the mcu's america might be a little too young for that (isn't she 17ish? and kate's 21?), but i'm on board with wlw kate all the way
my favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: definitely clint, but she and yelena are a riot too. my best friend is blonde and i have dark hair, and we're considering going as kate and yelena for halloween
my unpopular opinion about this character: i can't really think of one- everyone i know loves kate lol!
one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: i just want her to come back! more kate, please!
send a character no more, please!!!

(i swear) i thought i dreamed her
Andromaquynh Secret Santa gift for @aw-hawkeye-no Merry Christmas!!! 🎄❤⚔
(you suggested AUs, "modern, fake dating," and i just ignored the comma and did both lol i really hope you like it!!)
and a lot of love to @thirst-teenth for organizing this event and just being great ❤
Do I know about "fashion stuff"? nope. Do I know about "CIA stuff"? not really. did i completely ignore both just to bring you fake dating fluff and humor, quynh bullying andy, and andy being a complete mess for her? absolutely!!! so here it goes
Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Words: 5975
“Did you hire me to play the part of your fucking bodyguard?”
“No… I’m a humble fashion designer, I’m not meant to know the very best secret agent the world has to offer... I hired you to play the part of my fucking wife.”
Quynh is an Intelligence agent suddenly on the receiving end of some serious threats that demand the presence of one particular special agent. Andy isn't thrilled to play bodyguard, but soon she will find out it might be the very best job of her entire life.
Most times, when Andy had to visit James Copley’s office, she found it amusing. She would tease him for the walls covered in what she called conspiracy theories, and she’d think he looked so small behind his big desk. This time, however, she found the space suffocating, and his presence was nothing short of annoying.
“I don’t work like this, Copley,” she shook her head at him, “I don’t work with Intelligence, I don’t do undercover missions, and especially, I don’t play bodyguard for the rich ones.”
“It’s a bit more complicated than that,” he tried to insist. Copley was pretty much squirming in his seat. Andy was sitting on a chair on the other side of the desk, tense and angry, but she was as confident as he was uncomfortable. “Listen, Andy,” he tried again, “This is the kind of job you need after… you know. It’ll be good for you to stay out of high-risk missions for a while. And, anyway, it’s all I can get for you for the time being.”
She scowled at him, “Is it CIA?”
“Not exactly. Outside work. We call it freelance now.”
“Sure,” Andy rolled her eyes, “What exactly will it be then?”
“I think it’s best if she tells you in person,” Copley had the nerve to smile at her, as if Andy wasn’t going through one of the worst moments of her career and settling for a job she didn’t even want in the first place. Her frown must have conveyed that exact emotion, because the man in front of her had the decency to look a bit embarrassed, if only to cover his amusement. “She asked for you specifically.”
Andy frowned all the way back to her apartment, and her expression only eased when she settled down on her couch, ready to skim through the pages of her new employer’s file. However, she found herself completely engrossed in every bit of confidential information she managed to learn about Quynh. An agent of International Intelligence, linked to every major organization but not committed to any, with an interesting and impressive cover job as a fashion designer turned CEO of her own company with headquarters in Vietnam. The woman was a lethal weapon in designer clothes, designed by herself also, and just the thought of her threatened to drive Andy crazy. Thinking of how she could possibly hold a meeting with the head of the CIA right before a fashion show, and why exactly would she need Andy, a special agent with war experience who rarely wore clothes that weren’t some type of uniform.
Andy could admit she was intrigued by this job and maybe even Quynh in specific. What she wouldn’t ever admit to anybody, was the way that night her mind decided to craft a beautiful, breathtaking, completely unexpected, and detailed dream about Quynh.
--
Andy wasn’t nervous, she would have strongly denied that to anybody who asked. As she stood alone in the elevator that would take her to Quynh’s office at the top of a building that surveyed everything about the woman’s fashion company, Andy swore she was feeling just… uneasy. She wasn’t used to working without a team. She wasn’t used to working in any way that wasn’t direct action against a threat. Worst of all, Copley hadn’t explained much more to her before she left her office. The conversation she was about to have could change everything.
When Andy entered the office, she noticed two things. One, the space was beautiful, elegant, but surprisingly welcoming. Two, she was all alone.
“Hello?” she said, and cleared her throat.
Suddenly, a door at the side of the room opened and from it came out the most beautiful woman Andy had ever seen and wouldn’t admit to that very fact. Quynh was wearing a perfectly tailored white suit and she looked nothing short of magnificent.
“Welcome,” Quynh stepped forward and offered her hand in greeting, “Andromache, right?”
“You can call me Andy,” the taller woman replied, feeling a sense of pride at the way Quynh stared at their joined hands, held for a moment longer than necessary, and took a deep breath when she finally stepped back.
“Andromache, please sit.”
Although she did as asked, Andy had to hold back a frown. “What’s through there?” she nodded at the door from which the other woman had come out of.
“You’re not meant to know,” Quynh replied, sitting down on her own chair. She leaned in forward and rested her elbows on the desk in front of her, then rested her chin on her folded hands.
Andy met her eyes, dark and beautiful, and took a deep breath herself. “Okay. What sort of Intelligence you work for?” she asked.
“Also not meant to know.”
The answer made Andy grit her teeth, but she refused to look away from the other woman’s smug smile. “Fine. What’s my mission then?”
Quynh leaned back on her chest and smiled, “Your goal would be to fall madly in love with me.”
“Okay, you know what-”
“Hey, no, no, I’m sorry!” Quynh allowed herself one chuckle but then trained her face to seriousness when she noticed the other woman’s hand on the chair’s armrests, ready to flee the building. She stood up and walked around her desk to lean against it and stare at Andy. “I’m sorry. Listen, do you… did Copley tell you I asked for you specifically?” she tilted her head in wonder.
“Yes,” Andy nodded, and attempted to relax again on her seat, “Why is that?”
“Because I saw you in a dream,” Quynh grinned.
“Fucking…” Andy mumbled to herself and jumped out of her seat, determined to escape before she said something she could get in trouble for.
“Okay! No! Please… listen,” Quynh reached out and wrapped her fingers around Andy’s wrist, stopping her in place and soothing her temper. They were both standing up then, leaning against Quynh’s desk. Quynh took a deep breath, and talked to Andy with sincerity in her voice for what looked like the first time in the entire conversation. “I heard what happened to you. Betrayal. I can relate,” she met Andy’s eyes, and saw at once how guarded the other woman was, and how intently she was listening, “I got a death threat. A dozen of them, whatever. I believe it comes from someone in my inner circle. Someone that wants me to stop playing with the big names of the CIA and friends. But someone close enough to know where to follow me during my day job.”
When she was done, Quynh had allowed only a hint of fear to show on her eyes, but it had been enough to ease the tension from Andy’s shoulders. She knew, at once, that she couldn’t have refused the job, not even if she had actually wanted to say no.
“Did you hire me to play the part of your fucking bodyguard?” Andy said, calmly, amusement just barely there, but enough for Quynh to notice and relax too.
“No… I’m a humble fashion designer, I’m not meant to know the very best secret agent the world has to offer,” Quynh replied, sending a smile in Andy’s way. Then she sat down on one of the chairs on that side of the desk, nodding her head, inviting Andy to take the other chair. Quynh added, imitating Andy’s words back to her with a teasing grin she couldn’t hold back, “I hired you to play the part of my fucking wife.”
--
“Why can’t I wear my own suit?” Andy called out from inside the bathroom of Quynh’s bedroom. She had silently marveled at absolutely everything about the other woman’s home. Quynh didn’t hold back on elegance and comfort but, just as her office, it surprised Andy with how genuinely serene and practical most of it felt, nothing exaggerated but just a very beautiful place to live. Quynh might play the part of a wealthy CEO, and she might have more power than Andy could imagine, but she remained an intriguing woman.
“Because your suit makes you look like a waiter, Andromache!”
Quynh was also, by Andy’s standards, a little shit.
In response, Andy made it a point to kick the bathroom door. “I said you can call me Andy,” she grumbled, fixing the collar of the very expensive, very unique suit Quynh had chosen for her to wear to whatever event the woman was dragging her to as a grand introduction to the woman she had secretly married during a romantic spur of the moment kind of situation, as they would tell the press.
“You are playing the role of my wife, Andromache, you will have to wear the best of the best I’ve ever designed!”
Sighing in defeat, Andy walked out of the bathroom, feeling personally attacked by the number of buttons her shirt simply didn’t have for her to cover the better part of her torso. However, she stopped in her tracks, a victim of a much more aggressive attack, the sight of Quynh’s exposed back as the woman just finished pulling up her backless red dress. There was a tattoo there that all at once made Andy thankful for her mostly open shirt since she started to feel a little too warm in her clothes.
“Oh,” Quynh sighed when she turned around and stared at Andy. Andy, who made herself believe Quynh was looking her up and down so intently just because she was studying the clothes she had created and already knew perfectly, except for how well they’d fit a tall, irritable, professional, and unfairly gorgeous type of soldier with earnest green eyes that made Quynh feel just a little unsteady on her feet. “You look good,” she finally added, purposefully looking away, very professionally.
“You too,” Andy nodded, looking the opposite way, very seriously too.
It would have been easy for any kind of onlooker to determine that both women were thinking the exact same thing. This job would be entirely much more difficult than they had anticipated.
--
There was a red carpet and a small army of photographers ahead of them. The unfamiliar territory made Andy uneasy, that’s why she was standing so goddamned tense, and not at all for the way Quynh was holding her arm and standing so close, getting ready to step into the spotlight.
“Why a movie?” Andy whispered, genuinely curious and also trying to distract the other woman from the big event ahead of them.
Quynh sighed and turned to look at her with a smile, “I’m a woman of many talents.”
“You produced this?” Andy frowned.
“I did,” Quynh grinned, stood taller, and tugged Andy forward, “Now hush, we are about to go out. Look pretty for the cameras, alright? Do you think you can smile?”
“No.”
Her blunt answer made Quynh laugh wholeheartedly. The result was both women stepping on the red carpet smiling much more genuinely than they would have expected.
All things considered, Andy thought she did a decent enough job playing a fake wife. Although she also tried to play undercover bodyguard and kept an eye out for any remote threat to Quynh’s safety, she could hardly keep her eyes off her own fake wife. She listened intently when Quynh talked about her job, and she smiled when Quynh talked about them. It was difficult to complain about any of it when Quynh looked at her with that perfect smile of hers. She held Quynh’s hand as often as possible too, for safety reasons, obviously.
--
Back in Quynh’s apartment, as both women got ready to sleep, they reflected on the events of the night. The premiere of a movie was an event completely new and strange for Andy, who entertained herself by sharing a constant commentary about everything around her. The cameras captured about a dozen shots of Andy whispering in Quynh's ear, while she laughed happily at whatever the taller woman was criticizing. Even during the movie, they talked to each other enough to be shushed by a stranger halfway through.
Sitting on her bed, Quynh wanted to be embarrassed by how easily she had grown comfortable with Andy, of how much she had enjoyed a little company. But her thoughts were interrupted by the same women they were filled with. Andy came out of Quynh’s bathroom looking almost completely normal, with sweatpants, a t-shirt, and holding her suit folded on her hands, but there was a gun lying on top of the suit. The sight of it was an unpleasant reminder of the one and only reason Andy had been there with Quynh the entire night.
“That was a nice first date,” Quynh smirked, trying to shove down the feeling of disappointment upon remembering she was paying Andy for all of this.
“It was fun,” Andy replied softly, a little distracted by the sight of Quynh sitting on her bed, wearing silk pajamas, and her hair a little messy. The reminder that they had failed to discuss sleeping arrangements startled Andy like a bucket of cold water falling on top of her. “I’ll take the couch,” she blurted out.
“Are you sure?” Quynh sent a small frown her way.
Andy, already starting to walk away, granted her a smile, “Yes, your couch is unnecessarily large, it’s almost a bed for two.”
“Andromache, is that an invitation?”
“Uh,” Andy turned hastily away from Quynh’s teasing smile, making a beeline for the couch and stumbling a little on her way, enough to drop her gun and whisper “Fuck,” while the beautiful woman making a mess of her thoughts only laughed at her a short distance away.
--
Andy had traveled in the best and worst planes the world had to offer, anything to get to a mission, even if it was at the end of the world. That didn’t mean she liked planes though. The private plane flying Quynh, her fake wife, and her team overseas was impressive, but wasn’t the exception. And, apparently, Andy wasn’t the only one that disliked it.
After Andy took her time making sure the plane and its staff were completely safe, they were getting ready for taking off when Quynh stood in front of Andy’s seat, pointed at the window seat beside her, and asked, “Can I sit there?”
Andy looked at her very seriously for a moment that would have been longer if she wanted to tease the woman that had been teasing her nonstop since they first met but, she noticed the genuine and unusual apprehension in the other woman’s face.
“Haven’t we been married for a full week already?” she answered with a playful smirk, “You don’t have to ask.” She nodded to the place beside her in invitation. There was a part of Andy’s brain overthinking why Quynh, who had known her only a week, would sit beside her, instead of literally next to anybody else in the entire plane filled with people she knew and trusted and had worked with for years. A matter of safety, purely logical and professional reasons, Andy’s mind decided, shutting off the insistent little questions that her mind had about every little thing Quynh did. The problem was, now Quynh’s hand was gripping the armrest between them, and it took everything in Andy not to reach out to her.
“I hate planes,” Quynh confessed, breaking the silence, “I mean, I’m a little fascinated by them but, it just doesn’t feel right to be so far away from the ground, you know?”
“I know,” Andy replied, doing an almost inhumane effort to keep her voice steady even though the plane was starting to move, “If it were up to me we’d still travel on horses.”
That got her a laugh from Quynh. “Okay, that might be going too far,” Quynh said, meeting her eyes for the briefest of moments. She looked down at her lap quickly though, afraid that the other woman would be able to read in her eyes the answer to the question Quynh couldn’t stop asking herself, Why did she feel the need to sit beside Andy?
However, then the plane was leaving the ground behind, and Andy was as tense as Quynh, her chest tight and her logical thoughts nowhere to be found. She reached out in instinct and, without any of them acknowledging it, they held hands tightly the entire time until they were well past the worst of it.
The rest of the trip ended up being uneventful, technically, even if Andy’s heart got little to no rest. She got to witness Quynh glued to her laptop and talking to members of her team, as busy as if the whole world depended on her, and as confident as if she could fit all of it in the palm of her hand. If that wasn’t enough to make Andy’s chest tighten in a whole new way, then she got to watch the adorable way in which Quynh fell asleep for the second half of the trip. Nose wrinkled and little sighs escaping her now and then. The only thing Andy was sure of was that she was in some serious trouble if Quynh didn’t stop being so perfect at everything she did.
When they arrived at their destination, Andy was taken by surprise when Quynh approached her with a shy smile. “I’m sorry, I must be terrible company,” she said, looking up at Andy.
“Not at all,” the taller woman replied sincerely. She was delighted to see Quynh’s smile grow but, when she took a step forward to leave the plane, Andy had to reach out and carefully grab her wrist, stopping her. “I should go first,” she said as an explanation.
“But the cameras,” Quynh frowned, apparently an expert at walking down from planes while being a famous woman, because of fashion, surely not because of her involvement with the CIA and company.
“I always go first,” Andy insisted, but managed a reassuring smile, “for your safety.”
Quynh sighed, accepting the logic. But then, the least she could do was help a little. She reached out and stole Andy’s sunglasses from where they hung by the collar of her black t-shirt. Then she gently put them on Andy’s face, smiling at the result and holding back from moving Andy’s hair off her forehead. Except, she failed at holding back, and her fingers did brush Andy’s hair away, sending electricity up both their bodies.
“Okay,” Andy mumbled, turning away and putting all her effort in not shaking as she walked to the door of the plane, where she was ambushed by flashing lights. She scowled at them, and surveyed the scene, careless of how odd she might look up there, until she remembered she did this for Quynh’s safety. Quynh. Quynh, who had an image to keep. So, Andy turned around and offered her hand to her wife, putting on a smile for her. Quynh was surprised, but didn’t hesitate with the offer and, as she descended from the plane, her smile was more than a little effortless.
--
The next days passed by flying. They were in America, and Andy expected their days to be filled with all the interviews and movies and fashion shows that are included with one half of Quynh’s life. And they were, all of those things happened, but there was so much more too.
In the most random of moments, without consulting anyone but Andy, Quynh would pull the two of them into a different room of the hotel they had checked into, or into a fancy restaurant as often as into an unassuming cafe. There, men in suits would be waiting for them, with questions, answers, new instructions, orders, apologies, or gratitude and respect for whatever Quynh had succeeded at pulling off secretly and while keeping up a whole different life too. A few times, they were men that had actually given jobs to Andy before, even Copley showed up at one point. Once, it was a man Andy had fought against, and it wasn’t exactly the most comfortable meeting any of them had experienced in their lives.
Surprisingly, the other things were more difficult. It was Andy’s job to make sure that movies’ premiers were safe and that no one dangerous could sneak into one of Quynh’s fashion shows. The death threats continued to come just as often, and Andy was getting closer to figuring them out, but she wasn’t there yet. In the meantime, she had to dress up following Quynhs instructions, she had to hold her hand in public, and she didn’t have to put too much effort in smiling whenever their eyes met.
It was mesmerizing, to say the least, watching Quynh work. She was professional, and passionate, a little too honest, but fun and caring and charismatic. She was talented and challenging and so outstandingly beautiful that it was getting increasingly difficult for Andy to deny she may or may not have accidentally caught feelings for her. The soldier attempted to cope by reminding Quynh, at every chance she got, that she didn’t want to be there, hated the fancy clothes, the cameras, and the pretending. The problem was, not all of it was pretending, and the few times Quynh let a little bit of hurt show because of Andy’s words, then Andy had to pretend she didn’t notice it.
There were some things Andy genuinely didn’t notice though. She hadn’t yet learned to see past Quynh’s teasing and humor and find the sincerity hiding under the surface. She still called her Andromache, not so much because she had asked to be called Andy, but because it was an excuse to say her name, to watch her reaction, to be the only one who called her that. When they were in public she called her “wife” as often as possible, not to play some part for the cameras, just because she loved to watch Andy blush. Andy, who was supposed to be an intimidating special soldier but lighted up like a kid whenever Quynh surprised her with the best pastries each city had to offer. Andy was hilariously uncomfortable with the fancy clothes, and adorably clumsy when talking to Quynh’s acquaintances, it never failed to make Quynh’s eyes go soft with endearment. And Andy had no way of knowing some of her clothes were things Quynh had stayed up late to design especially thinking of her.
Two moments stood out from the rest. Two times both women got maddingly close to absolute honesty, to crossing a beautiful line they were both dying to cross but stupidly waiting for the other one to take the final step.
First, there was one special interview in Vietnamese where Quynh felt so comfortable it was a little too easy for her to let down her guard. The interviewer, unsurprisingly, asked her about her unexpected marriage and her mysterious wife. Quynh gave the usual, prepared answer but, with a little bit more prompting, she kept talking.
“What I love about her? Everything of course. Um, the unexpected things, mostly. She makes me laugh like nobody else, mostly without even trying, I just like making fun of her,” Quynh laughed, and her eyes moved around the room for a moment, searching. She found Andy’s face, mostly inexpressive at the moment but still breathtaking, and the language barrier was enough to kick down the last of Quynh’s hesitation. “There’s more too. There’s no one like her, really. She… she’s beautiful, intelligent, so thoughtful, and inspiring, and… she makes me feel safe.”
The interviewer then asked her what she’d like to say to her wife, but Quynh almost didn’t hear him. She was too preoccupied with sudden panic burning inside her because, right at the last sentence she spoke, she stared again at Andy’s face, no longer expressionless, but quite the opposite. Eyes big, lips slightly parted, too many emotions, too much understanding. Quynh wanted to scream at herself for not thinking about the chances that the world’s best special agent would obviously happen to be fluent in a dozen languages that happened to include Vietnamese.
“I’d want to tell her, um,” Quynh stuttered, looking for the right words, the perfect fake smile and laugh to hide behind, “that I don’t completely regret our marriage.” She chuckled along with the interviewer, she went on with the interview, and not once she dared to look back at Andy again.
Then there was the second big moment, save for a hundred little moments, when Andy and Quynh’s little act of pretending was almost brought to a sudden ending. It was a special night after an extremely long and busy day, not just for Quynh, but also Andy, who was closer than ever to uncovering the source threatening Quynh. The result was Andy looking about ten times more exhausted than Quynh had ever seen her, dragging her feet across the hotel suite with her hair messy and bags under her eyes.
“Andromache,” Quynh called her from her place already in bed, “We can share the bed, you know?” She suggested, willing her voice to remain steady even under the stare of Andy’s green eyes filled with surprise. “I can tell you’re exhausted,” she managed a chuckle to lighten the situation, downplay her suggestion, hide her hope, “It’s not a big deal, come on.”
To her surprise and delight, Andy nodded once. The taller woman walked to the bed and nearly let herself fall face first on it, groaning in pleasure at the comfort of the bed and making Quynh laugh adoringly.
They got comfortable in the bed that was luckily big enough to not make it too difficult to keep their distance from each other. Andy was pretty much asleep already, her eyes closed, her features relaxed, and the filter in her mind basically nonexistent. When Quynh wished her a good night, she simply blurted out, “This has been my favorite mission ever.”
Andy’s voice was slurred and deep with sleep, making Quynh’s heart flutter pleasantly. “Why?” she asked with a smile, staring at the gorgeous woman on the other side of the bed. There was a great spark of excitement, adrenaline, and expectation for whatever Andy’s answer might reveal. But she couldn’t deny a sense of comfort, and peace, that covered them both at the moment. Andy could fall asleep without saying anything else at all, and still, it would be a moment Quynh would treasure forever.
“You know, being-” Andy was interrupted by a yawn, which she took as an opportunity to turn around in bed, giving her back to Quynh and finding the courage to finish her sentence before falling asleep. “Pretending to be madly in love with you, that’s easy enough to accomplish.”
Andy was asleep before she got to hear Quynh whisper her name a few moments later. She didn’t say anything else, but just by the way she pronounced her name, so tenderly, adoringly, softly, it would have been enough for anyone to figure out what her real feelings were.
--
Andy hated London. She’d had mostly bad experiences there and still, her dislike for the city was far from her biggest problems at the moment. She was backstage on one of Quynh’s fashion shows and she was scowling at everyone that dared look her way. Quynh was busy, and the models demanded a lot of her time, and Andy, who was totally not jealous of the way that a young and beautiful Nile Freeman who would be the star of the evening stole Quynh’s attention, was getting restless.
It was nearly time to begin the show when Andy managed to drag Quynh to an empty hallway and whisper, with possibly too much force, “We have a problem.”
“Yeah, she’s tall and pretty but she’s been scaring my models with her angry frown.”
In response, the aforementioned frown on Andy’s face deepened. “I told you. I’m almost there with figuring out who’s after you. If something happens tonight, which might happen, I’ll know for sure.”
“Well… great. Can I go now?”
“Quynh,” Andy insisted, “I mean it. Tonight’s dangerous.”
“There have been death threats on almost every city, tonight’s not different,” Quynh sighed gravely, didn’t roll her eyes, but her expression of boredom was enough to set off Andy’s temper.
Worst of all, Quynh tried to step away, which prompted Andy to reach out and hold her wrist to stop her. “I’m saying, I’m not letting you go out there,” Andy said with finality. She was still gentle as always, but there was a new urgency in her hold, it was just proof of Andy’s genuine worry but, at the moment, to Quynh, it looked just a little too aggressive. She frowned when she looked up at Andy.
“You cannot decide that for me, Andromache,” Quynh seethed, “You’re here to protect me if something goes wrong, and I expect you’ll do your job correctly. That’s it, that’s the only reason you’re here, and not to tell me what to do.”
After a short moment that felt like an eternity, Andy replied coldly, “You’re right. That’s the only reason I’m here. Just doing my job.”
It wasn’t until somebody else walked into the hallway to let Quynh know it was time to go, that both women realized how close they had been standing, how hard they were both breathing, how badly they had just hurt each other. Quynh glanced at her assistant and nodded, then she turned back quickly to look at Andy, an apology on the tip of her tongue, but she didn’t get a chance. Andy had a perfectly cold expression on her face, the worst part being the fake smile on her lips.
“Good luck,” Andy whispered to her, then leaned in and kissed Quynh’s cheek. It was, by far, the worst thing she could have done to her right then. It was the first time she did it, and the fact that the small kiss was so cold, almost carrying venom with it, it broke Quynh’s heart more than she could have put into words.
Quynh had to leave Andy there, and she had to pretend she wasn’t on the verge of tears as the show started. It proved to be a good enough distraction, but it never quite took her mind off the hurt in Andy’s precious green eyes when she had brought up the purely-work-related argument on their discussion. Quynh thought it couldn’t have been worse, and then came the ending of the show. There she was standing alone on the runway, the models walking away, she was trying to smile for the cameras while the seat reserved for her wife on the first row was devastatingly empty. Andy had left, Quynh blamed herself and, for an instant, she didn’t think it could get worse.
Maybe it was the light, maybe there were tears in her eyes, but everything was a little bit blurry, and Quynh was completely caught off guard when a strong arm came around her shoulders, quickly pushed her down and away from where she had been standing. Then, there were shots. Quickly, one after another, loud, frightening. People started screaming, jumping out of their seats, and running, it was all chaos. However, from her safe place on the floor of the runaway and out of danger, Quynh couldn’t focus on any of it. How could she, when standing in front of her was Andy in all her glory, still holding a gun and staring a little too proudly at the lifeless body of the person that had been hired to kill Quynh, hired by someone Andy had already tracked down and ordered to take down while this all played out.
“Let’s go,” Andy said, offering her hand out to Quynh, and it all felt a little like a familiar dream.
The world was still going mad around them, but once again Andy was able to hold her hand firmly and pull her away from it all, pull her right back to the empty hallway where they almost broke each other’s hearts beyond mending. As soon as they were safe and alone, Quynh threw her arms around Andy, who eagerly reciprocated, holding her as closely as possible.
“I’m sorry,” Quynh mumbled again and again against Andy’s neck until they finally pulled back enough to look at each other like they were dying to do. Quynh still looked worried, but Andy’s face was a perfect reflection of joy.
“Don’t be,” Andy answered softly, daring to touch Quynh again, this time, placing her hand delicately against her cheek, and smiling when she felt the shorter woman lean into her touch. “We got him. Everything is fine now. You’re safe.”
Quynh sighed, “I said some things I regret.”
“It’s okay,” Andy promised, “I was paranoid, and overprotective. I’ve lost people I care about during missions before, but I can’t lose you…”
The earnest look in Andy’s eyes, her sweet words, her tender touch, it was all too much. Quynh didn’t trust words to express what she was feeling for the incredible woman standing right in front of her. As naturally as if she had done it for years and years, she leaned in, and she kissed Andromache, pouring all her feelings, everything she had been holding back for weeks, into that kiss.
Andy kissed her back with matching emotions, and when she pulled back, a small sigh escaped her. She glanced quickly at the chaos still going on beyond the end of the hallway and promptly ignored it all. She rested her forehead against Quynh’s and whispered, “There’s no one watching.” There was no need to act, to pretend, to do anything, or be anything beyond their truest selves.
“I know,” was all Quynh answered before pulling Andy down for another kiss.
--
After all the acting and all the pretending was done, letting down their guard and being honest with each other came really easily for Andy and Quynh. After her safety was restored, Quynh decided to take a small break. One of her jobs, under the spotlight, often required small breaks in some beautiful place. Her other job, under the weight of the entire world, often required her to maybe disappear for a little while. That’s how she found herself in a remote place, in a mostly isolated charming little house, sharing her bed, her life, and her heart, with Andy. They were starting to lose count of the days, just focused on enjoying and getting to know each other.
They were in bed, sitting side by side, their arms intertwined. Andy was finishing off whatever dessert she had brought from the kitchen back to bed with her. Quynh was teasing her for her sweet-tooth, complaining about leaving crumbs on their bed, and leaving little kisses on Andy’s shoulder.
After a while of silently holding each other, Andy broke the silence, humor obvious in her tone as she asked, “So, do I get to keep the job?”
Quynh laughed wholeheartedly and cuddled even closer. “My heart, I am not paying you for this,” she answered.
“Why not?” Andy scoffed, bringing them both to laughs, that eventually turned into kisses, that they wished would never stop.
Eventually though, Quynh pulled back, she looked lovingly at Andy and smiled. “Andromache, I did dream of you,” she confessed, “The day we met, I said-”
Andy couldn’t help but interrupt her with a kiss. She meant to say I know, I was there, I had the same dream, I was yours since before we met, I’ll be yours forever. She might say the words someday, but for the moment, she kissed her. She might confess she looked forward to maybe calling Quynh her wife again some day soon, for real, but, for the moment, she kissed Quynh with all the love she had in her, all the love she had for her.

Hi. I've been watching this blog for a while, some stuff I enjoy, some stuff I hate and I am commenting because a few posts have been fucking weird. I don't talk about it. I used to hang out and party. I grew up, some grew up and groups grew apart. I still have contact and love for some of these people. Some, I hate. I want to be clear about some stuff that might disappoint you and I am sorry for that. The boys are great but not as great as people make them out to be. Here are the facts yo -
- that R shit is fake as fuck. Cal is straight and someone is being stupid and starting shit. Lol. FACTS: 3 boys are straight and the truth is, they are not phobic in anyway but have made some jokes here and there. Probably to deal with the shipping. Yes I only said 3 because 1 had some experiences at a point but hates to talk about it and NO not with another member. A long time ago. Again sorry to disappoint but none of the relationships are fake, they are shitty but all real guys.
It is really sad that people say stupid things and make up stuff about the boys to try and justify their own versions of what they have created. I like two of the boys more than I like the other two, my best friend always agreed when we would talk there. It doesn't really matter though. They are all great but they all have issues and 100% have issues with some stuff that gets said online. I've heard 1 in particular refer to shipping rumours as 'fucking disgusting bro' to the other  When it was brought up as a joke, so they really don't appreciate it or like it and if you know them, it is actually weird. They are protective and brotherly but that's all. At parties, you actually rarely see all 4 of them talking together due to other friends, they fight, they disagree, they need space but they love each other and supoort each other, everyone knows it and I have however seen some significant others, other friends and other people from bands or at parties try and pin them
They don't hate each others partners. I'm not a fan of two of them though. Quite fake and rude and you get hawkeyes if you are a girl near their bf. My perspective is that there are definitely people they would always hang out with over eachother. They do have close friends. Except for 1 of them who doesn't have an outside bestie or group, that speculation on that one can be confirmed. He's honestly kind of a loner though, the nicest out of all of em but the one who always talks the least.
Fans are giving too much credit to a bunch of girls that suck to talk to. They aren't deep and meaningful or awesome at all. Sorry. I'm bitchy too. They aren't some amazing masterminds with clever schemes. They also always speak very highly of their management, they say they are well looked after in that department. I won't lie. There used to be way more drinking and way more drugs but it has toned down. They always pay for everything for those girls though.
We aren't besties but I never disliked Arz until she had a meltdown. Not PR guys, just not a great time for Luke. I have seen too many PR rumours over the years and it is annoying. There is no PR. Just bad judgment and shitty life choices. There was a clean up from all the boys slowly over the years and you noticed that the usual vip's slimmed down and got less mentally and emotionally crazy. Take it from me though.. I would rather a never ending road trip with Crys than with Sierra.
**************************************
First off, thank you for taking the time to write in such a length Ask.  As I’ve said regarding the other “insider” Asks we’ve recently gotten, I’ll take all of this with a grain of salt (I know I’ve said that at least 3 times now!
IF there is truth to what you said about none of the relationships being PR, all I can think of is DEAR GOD WHY?!?!?!?  I can’t imagine voluntarily choosing to stay in a relationship that is riddled with deception, manipulation, leeching, toxicity, etc.

Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me find a fanfic I was reading but never got to finish/it was not completed yet. Here's some information on it.
I found it on Archive of Our Own (Ao3) but it could be in other places.
It's a crossover between the Avengers/MCU and Supernatural.
Sam Winchester and Tony Stark/Iron Man positive. Very critical of Dean Winchester and Steve Rogers/Captain America. (I first found it under the Abusive Dean Winchester tag but it is no longer there. I think the author may have changed it and am hoping the story was not deleted because I found it very interesting.)
Set sometime AFTER Sam Wilson/Falcon joined the team but BEFORE Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. JARVIS is still alive. In Supernatural it is set right after Gadreel leaves Sam/is forcefully expelled/Season 9.
I remember Clint Barton/Hawkeye being VERY disapproving of Dean letting Gadreel possess Sam without his permission. It reminded him of Loki and he was very not cool with it.
The two universes are separated, it's implied that God/Chuck sent them (the Winchesters and Castiel) to the Avengers universe. They think this because Sam hears a voice, Castiel and Dean did not hear the voice and are very suspicious. Sam didn't think anything of it because he thought they all heard it. The voice basically told Sam to be happy or find peace/something similar.
There was a part where JARVIS was basically giving Sam therapy. Sam told him almost everything and JARVIS told Sam the Apocalypse was not his fault.
Steve/Cap did not understand why Dean letting Gadreel possess Sam was a big deal because Dean did it to save Sam's life and it was out of brotherly love. (I think his thoughts imply he would do the same for Bucky.)
There is a part from Natasha/Black Widow's point of view where she is very dismissive of Tony's worries and concerns about another alien invasion. She was speaking to Bruce Banner/Hulk while thinking/talking about this. Natasha thinks Tony is fascinated by the alien technology rather than worried. She does not believe he has PTSD.
Caatiel was at first insistent Sam be placed with Dean (the brothers are on different floors because they are working through issues) but soon came around to understand Sam's point of view. He was sort of patronizing, believing Sam would make bad decisions without his brother's influence.
At one point in the story Tony tells Steve to leave him alone for a night because he is making (or ordering?) a special dinner for Pepper. I can't remember if it was their anniversary or Valentine's day but I think anniversary. Anyways, Steve ignores it and calls Pepper and Tony down. It was for some security issue having to do with Sam and Dean and the floors they were on I think. (They were not allowed to leave the floors or something and Pepper was needed to sign some papers I think.)
Dean flirted with one of the guards at one point who was either asexual/aromantic or a lesbian. She was wearing a pride flag button on her uniform but Dean did not understand what it meant. When she is reassigned to Sam's floor she speaks with Sam and he understands about pride flags.
There is a moment where Sam and Dean talk and I think Sam mentions dreams he has where Dean is hurting him instead of Lucifer. Basically Dean is forced to face the truth about his abusive/controlling behavior and later gets drunk. This is also how Pepper sees him when she is evaluating whether or not to let him have more access to the tower or something. Steve also takes this the wrong way and thinks SAM is the one in the wrong because how Steve saw it was Sam comparing Dean to the Devil. (Sam did not tell Dean he was the Devil, Sam said that in his dreams Dean hurts him just as bad as Lucifer and says they both make him feel the same way.)
There is part where Dean, Steve and a few of the other Avengers (maybe Castiel too? I forgot) go out to a bar and Dean tells HIS version of events and says Sam was in Hell. He does not tell the others that Sam got there by sacrificing himself so the world would continue. He implies or says the Apocalypse is all Sam's fault. Thor later asks Castiel how Sam went to Hell when he thought it was the place bad mortals go. Castiel explains WHY Sam did it and implores Thor to be open-minded. Thor and Sam talk about it.
Steve/Cap is very annoyed Sam and Dean can't just get along and doesn't at all understand Sam's side. He constantly compares Sam and Dean to him and Bucky (in his mind mostly). There's one part where Steve, Sam/Falcon and Clint (maybe more but those are who I remember) are talking with Dean (this is directly before Sam & Dean's talk I mentioned earlier) and Steve talks about his misunderstanding of the events. I think it is Sam/Falcon (so hard when two people are named Sam lol) who tells him he must be more understanding. He doesn't really change his opinion that much.
Sam and Dean at one point have an argument in the tower's garage. Rhodey/War Machine and Tony are watching.
I think 16 happens after they get back from a restaurant. The other two notice Sam does not like the smell of meat (or maybe a certain kind of meat?) because of his reactions while eating in the tower and choose their meals accordingly. (It also might be Bruce/Hulk instead of Rhodey or Tony who goes with him to the restaurant and witnesses the argument but I'm not sure.)
I remember reading in the Author's Notes that they maybe planned to take this story all the way to Civil War.
That's all I can remember for now. Please link me this story if you can help. I really liked it and was hoping the author would finish it. I'm hoping the tags just got messed up or the author moved to another site. Maybe the author changed it because they no longer views the Dean in the story abusive. I was looking to add this story to my bookmarks and subscriptions even if it hasn't been updated since I last saw it. I really want to reread it too.
I so rarely find fics that critique a character while still keeping them in the realm of possibility. I could believe Dean and Steve would act this way if confronted with this situation. I also live fics where Sam sticks up for himself or someone sticks up for Sam.
One last thing: SAM WINCHESTER DID NOT START THE APOCALYPSE!!! lol sorry but I hate how some people act like it's all Sam's fault. I dislike how people seem to gloss over Dean consenting FOR Sam and just excusing it because Dean was trying to SAVE Sam. I don't care. Sam did not consent to Gadreel entering his body. It was a horrible, gross violation. Obviously something had to happen to get the story going again but Dean was wrong. Sam said NO and no means NO! Dean tricked Sam because he knew Sam would say no. After watching Dean get possessed by Michael I think he would reconsider letting Sam get possessed again.
Sorry, none of that was important regarding the story. I just wanted to give my opinion.

lucky, tonynat (your writing is amazing, so sorry i didn’t include the prompt with the number! and i know you just wrote tonynat so you don’t have to do this one sorry for being annoying lol)
Natasha didn’t believe in luck. She never believed that when the bomb didn’t go off immediately after two seconds, it was luck. It wasn’t God’s intervention. And it definitely wasn’t because she was quick. It just was what it was.
She never believed in luck, even when she climbed out of the rubble of the Red Room with bleeding nails and a heart that just might have fluttered with something. It had happened, and now she needed to figure out how to get money and how to avoid certain groups.
It wasn’t group when Clint Barton swaggered into the coffee shop where she was doing research, put himself down across from her, and asked her if she wanted to go on a sightseeing trip. It wasn’t luck when she realized that Clint Barton was exactly like the others until he wasn’t. That he could aim an arrow just as well as he could aim his words.
It wasn’t luck when she found SHIELD and sure, a ton of agents were terrified of her, but Barton called her “the worst card player ever” and Maria Hill just raised an eyebrow at her when she didn’t turn in her paperwork on time. She was threatened with bench time. Which didn’t really ever happen, because Natasha was the Black Widow, the woman who could kill you with pencil lead.
But Maria didn’t care.
And then she met Tony Stark. Or rather, she worked with him. It was annoying. Obnoxious. But there was something about him.
When Natasha was little, before the Red Room, there had been the ballerinas. She had watched a show with someone–she still wasn’t entirely sure it was her parents–and she had seen them. Twirling elegantly, gracefully, pain in their face during the right parts and joy in the next. They knew their parts, played them wonderfully.
After the show, when Natasha was exiting the theater, she had seen one of the ballerinas laughing with a bottle of rum hanging from a graceful hand and the phrase “what the hell are we doing tonight?” dropping from her lips.
Tony was a lot like that. He put on the show of rum in hand and words dropping from lips, but he was also graceful. He was a practiced dancer, just not the type she usually thought of.
He’s a provider. She sees the provisions he has for Pepper, for Happy, and for Rhodey. For the people of Stark Industries. He’s generous, and he knows he’s dying.
She steals a highly-top-secret heavy metal cure. Tells Fury that Iron Man? Yes. Tony Stark, not recommended. (But she makes up the reason as to why.)
And then she plans a lunch date. After everything. After Vanko is gone, after Pepper tells her that she knew Natasha was up to something, and after Tony realizes that he can’t trust her.
A lunch date.
Tony comes. He has the suitcase resting by him, a sure reminder that he can destroy her even if she gets a head start. Even if she can disappear. She’s not exactly unsure of if he could find her. He’s hacked the grid for fun before, just to find out which boss at his favorite pizza place was bad to her employees.
“Should I consider this something?” he asks. He’s wearing clothes that usually, someone like him doesn’t wear. They’re muted in color, boring. Bland sunglasses cover his eyes for a moment, before he takes them off. Damn, he’s tired. “Should I consider this an apology, an explanation, or what?”
“Explanation,” Natasha says.
Tony doesn’t have luck. He has skill, he has experiences on his side that happen the way they do. Natasha doesn’t like saying luck.
She tells him that Iron Man was recommended because Tony Stark is far too valuable to the world to risk his own life playing hero with others.
“You know you’re needed elsewhere,” she says evenly. “And I’m sorry that I had to say all those things in my report. But I didn’t want you killed because of the initiative.”
“I think I should choose that for myself,” Tony states. The server delivers him coffee and a croissant. “Don’t you?”
“I know that you wouldn’t,” Natasha says. “And I know that you have a family.” He doesn’t say anything after that.
“And you don’t?”
“People like me usually never do,” Natasha says.
She gets invited to Stark Tower for a luncheon herself. She doesn’t tell Fury where she’s going; he’s already pissed off enough that Tony won’t give up just the suit. There are some things he doesn’t need to know.
They don’t trust her. Which is expected. Tony still doesn’t, but it’s…nicer. He jokes with her, asks her about her work. She can’t tell him much.
They keep going for lunch. For breakfast. She likes breakfast more, especially when they don’t go out. When she’s sitting cross-legged at Stark Tower and Tony’s still asleep, eyes bleary. He sways to the music, and doesn’t comment on Natasha’s oddly specific brands for jam and preserves. They don’t fight about cinnamon rolls, but they fight about Asiago bagels.
Somewhere along the way, they become something. In the late afternoon light when Natasha slowly realizes that this? Is kind of a dream come true, and Tony looks so damned nervous and hell, so is she. When they come together and it’s better than she thought, when Tony looks at her like he’s looking at a galaxy.
She thinks she’s not good enough. She knows she’s not, for someone like him. Someone who deserves a person so good that it burns Natasha to see them.
But he chooses her.
And for the first time, she believes in luck. When they watch the Fourth of July show from the balcony with Pepper and Rhodey and Happy, when he holds her hand. When they celebrate his birthday and she gets him the stupidest gifts–bath bombs and a card for someone who’s turning 90 years old, and fuzzy socks.
When, randomly, he takes her to his favorite book shop and they find botanical books that they can use as decoration. She hates destroying books, finds it too symbolic. So they trace the pages and frame them. Try to paint them and fail. Natasha laughs.
They both love movies. Love the escapism. They could watch movies for hours on end.
It’s official when Clint comes with Natasha, gawks at the pool table, and bets Rhodey that he can beat him.
“Bring it weirdo,” Rhodey says. “You’re about to get your ass kicked.”
It’s a closer game than Natasha realizes; Jim’s been practicing trick shots recently, thrown Clint off-guard. But Clint still wins, and then Rhodey figures out that he’s Hawkeye.
Natasha marks that she has a significant other on the SHIELD sheet. Maria thinks it’s Clint, and she has to laugh.
“Public knowledge would be a danger,” Natasha says. Maria’s eyes widen.
She figures it out.
Maria is brought to family dinner–she’s like the annoying sister Nat never had–and Rhodey promptly falls in love with her on the spot.
It takes Maria a little bit longer than that.
Tony and Nat aren’t about big displays. So when they’re having breakfast at their favorite dive–Gerry’s Cafe–Tony passes her a box while he’s getting the tip out.
“For you.”
It’s a very thin golden band, small diamonds set in. Nothing referencing who she is, who she used to be.
A promise of together.
She says yes, and they get married in a very private ceremony.
“I got an online certification for this, and you won’t let me wear my purple suit?” Clint complains.
“If it wasn’t eggplant purple, I would’ve let you,” Tony says. “But as the point stands, I need pictures to look good, Barton.” He scoffs, and tells him in no uncertain terms were they to order any lemon dessert if they won’t let him wear his suit.
Pepper smiles at the two of them as they say vows. Rhodey cries (and says he doesn’t). Maria claps and tells Natasha she can officially call her a sap, since she got married and everything. (Nat doesn’t tell her that Rhodey’s search history has revealed googling for rings.)
It’s lucky. They’re both lucky.

Self-Promo Meme
@ferociousqueak  tagged me for the thing! The Thing is to post the first line of my last 10 fics and then tag 10 people. I’ve taken “line” a bit loosely and anyone who does this should to. Depending on how you count, I’ve written 10 so that works out perfectly! (ok, so I’ve written 12, but one’s a three parter that’s technically one story and i will count it as such, so there.)
Here goes. All fics are and completed (cause i’m scared to post wips lol)
The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat and Circus (Leverage meets Fraction!Hawkeye)
“I was shot at Eliot! Shot. At. With an arrow of all things, are you listening to me?” Hardison checked his coat again to be sure the close call hadn’t been closer. He liked this coat, especially here, in an alley in the middle of Bed-Stuy, which hadn’t gotten the memo that it was April dammit, and still insisted on wind chill.
(currently working on two sequels and i will finish both this year dammit.)
Pretzels /  Plans / Protection (OT3 get together fic)
Whatever Nate and Sophie had gotten up to while they were away in D.C. must have involved Sterling. The Interpol pretzel cart was back, parked across the street with its bright umbrella opened against the drizzle. Eliot casually checked it out as he started unloading Hardison and Parker’s luggage, before Hardison, who’d been wrapped up in some stupid debate with their driver about a taxi service you call with an app, jumped out of the taxi in alarm.
The Food Cart Job (Peggy joins the crew for a job)
“There is no one here dressed up as a pie, Hardison, are you kidding me, man?” The voice was irate, but pitched low, and Peggy ducked her head down behind the pamphlet someone had shoved in her face earlier, pretending not to be eavesdropping on the guy growling into the phone in front of her. “NO. No couples going as salt and pepper, and don’t even get started on the— NO. For one thing, I’d be the goddamn mustard.” He was stocky, short enough that she had a good eyeline on his very impressive biceps, and if they were going to be stuck in this line much longer, she just might try chatting him up.
Context (quick musings about knives from the POV of Eliot’s HS home ec teacher)
There’s a jock in her class.
There’s a jock in her class and he sits front and center, not slouched in the corner like the other times she’s called roll on the first day and glanced up to match a name to a bored face above a letterman jacket. This one—Eliot Spencer—does not look bored.
Make Way For Ducklings (Leverage next gen that i keep intending to write a sequel to, i love them so much)
“Got one for you. See pic. Deliver it in a week or else.”
A week? Lennie owes someone money.
Josie studied the picture of a woman’s driver’s license — Irene Fisher, lives at 436 East Hadley — and smeared wasabi on her last piece of avocado roll before popping it into her mouth. The stringent spice burned her sinuses and made her eyes water as she pitched the empty container out the window of her SUV into a nearby trash can. She blinked to clear her eyes before pulling out of her parking spot. It would take her a good half hour to get to Hadley from here, so Irene might already be home from her extra unlucky traffic stop.
The Secret Santa Job (fluffy christmas fluff)
“Kidnap the Sandy Claws…”
She’s singing the song. Again. Ever since Hardison got the oh-so-idiotic idea to show Parker a movie about a bunch of monsters stealing Christmas a week back, she’s been fixated on this song. This high-pitched, sing-song chant of violence that is giving him ideas he shouldn’t be contemplating around Christmas. He’d asked Hardison who wrote the thing while he was distracted enough by some tech thing to overlook the imminent violence in Eliot’s tone, but the moment Parker’d heard the guy’s name had the word “Elf” in it, he’d been official declared off-limits.
Drifting (Eliot hangs out with an imaginary Aimee while imprisoned at the college campus)
Somewhere, far away, he’s being tortured.
It isn’t particularly effective, no more annoying than one of Hardison’s long-winded explanations...fine, so maybe a little more annoying than that, but Eliot’s not about to admit it over the comms.
Anyway, he’s just doing what he does.
The 0-8-4 Job (Leverage / Agents of SHIELD s1...and Bunny is an 084. yeah i don’t know either but i really love how it came out.)
S.H.I.E.L.D. Evidence File Status: Classified Restricted Access: Level 4 Subject: 0-8-4 Retrieval
Evidence Report
The 0-8-4 has been linked to numerous hospitalizations and fatalities of children and their guardians.
Birthdays and Blowtorches (Birthday fluff!)
“Oooh, you should get that for my birthday!---Eliot. I mean, for Eliot.” Eliot feels the tiny muscles in his ears perk at the sound of his name, like the hairs on the back of his neck raising, but for a very different kind of danger.
Finding Lost Dogs (DB Cooper Job fic about young Todd Mcsweeten)
The week after Todd McSweeten lost his bike, he found a dog.
A scruffy thing, probably white once upon a time, now a brown and gray smudge wriggling desperately under a bush, its collar caught fast in the branches. If he’d been riding his bike, he might have missed it. He knelt down, mindful that scared dogs sometimes bite, even if they don’t mean to, and carefully stuck out his hand for the dog to sniff. It didn’t snarl or snap, just struggled more frantically and, worried it would strangle itself, he reached in, fumbling a bit before he managed to loose the collar from the branch. The dog tumbled forward into his arms, whining and snuffling and licking his face all over.
I very much hate tagging (yay social anxiety) but I would also very much like to see other lists so please consider yourselves tagged!

Thoughts on Endgame
I haven’t used this account in ages but I’m still not over Endgame and just wanna rant about it. Obviously SPOILERS under the cut below!
Ok, so overall I did REALLY enjoy the movie. It definitely had some flaws (their rules of time travel was a little confusing) but overall I think it did it’s job of wrapping up 10 years of movies. I will admit that besides Iron Man and then later Cpatain America and Thor, the original six never really interested me so I did slightly get over all the original six tributes while pushing most of the other characters on the shelf until the final battle. I think I’m just gonna ramble about what I liked, didn’t like, and wanted more of with each character because I have so many thoughts haha
Tony Stark/Iron Man:
-I think I’m one of the few people who’s ok with how he died?? Like I had a feeling he wasn’t going to survive but how he died still shocked me and made me sad to see him go. I don’t think it was out of character though, I totally think it’s something he would’ve done so I’m a little confused why people disagree on that.
-Besides that, I really loved watching him be a father with Morgan those were definitely some of the more tender scenes in the movie for sure!
-Also Morgan in general was just too cute!
-Also loved his reunion with Peter, and his talk with his father.
Steve Rodgers/Captain America:
-AMERICA’S ASS
-Him getting annoyed with his past self was great and I loved that there were two situations (”Bucky’s alive” and “Hail Hydra”) where he knew what to say to get out of the situation.
-Basically Captain America going back to New York 2012 was my favorite part of his story for this movie
-Now I DO agree with most people with how it didn’t make sense for him to go back in time. Like yeah it’s sweet, I guess, that he went back for Peggy but I kinda thought he got over all of that by the end of his trilogy? I honestly lowkey thought the girl he was dancing with wasn’t going to be Peggy. Like how wild would it be if it was just some random girl he met in the past and decided to be with her?
-Also does this mean Sharon Carter is his niece or???
Bruce Banner/Hulk:
-I HATE STAIRS
-Honestly it took me a minute to get used to the whole Professor Hulk thing but I did and it’s fine
-When the gauntlet messed him up after he used the snap to bring everyone back I knew that someone was gonna die using it (but I didn’t think of Tony when I was watching the movie)
Thor:
-They kinda kept mocking Thor throughout this movie and I don’t know how to feel about it after the Russo brothers basically erased all of his progress in Ragnarok.
-Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mind him growing his hair and getting belly. In fact I loved that he was still going toe to toe with Thanos regardless.
-His scene with his mom was sweet but I found myself asking if it was necessary? But this might also be because I didn’t care for Thor: Dark World.
-Well I guess it makes sense in the end when he joins the Guardians of the Galaxy. Definitely one of the funnier scenes in the movie and I think he’d fit in well with them.
Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow:
-Like I said before I didn’t really care for the original six but I FELT Black Widow’s death. It’s was beautifully tragic and I’m lowkey a sucker for that kinda shit.
-I knew SOMEONE was going to have to die when they went for the Soul Stone but before the movie I always thought it was gonna be either Cap or Tony and then during I thought (or, if I’m being honest, hoped) it would be Clint.
-I feel for the people saying she was robbed. She def should have had a proper funeral and it’s such a shame she couldn’t be apart of the EPIC A-Force team.
-Also I think I was the most bored (although it wasn’t too bad to be fair) during the scenes after her death and before the final battle because after they killed her our team became just a bunch of white guys, War Machine, and an evil Nebula. And that’s just a big YIKES that could’ve been avoided if they just included Okoye or Valkyrie in the mission.
-Also shouldn’t be alive? Since Cap returned the stone?
Clint Barton/Hawkeye:
-His family getting dusted in the beginning was ROUGH
-But honestly I’ve never cared for Hawkeye and didn’t in the film. I’m surprised he survived honestly.
Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel:
-I love that as soon as Carol came back she found Tony and Nebula and then proceeded to kick Thanos’s ass and help take him down
-I love that haircut, MY GOD
-I love that she showed up at the end and destroyed that entire ship.
-Her smile at Peter was so sweet.
-I really like that they had her go toe to toe with Thanos and basically beat him WHILE he had on the infinity glove. This just means the Avengers should have contacted Fury during IW so that he would’ve just called her during the last stand of Wakanda.
-Also with her fight versus Thanos, I like how they had him beat her. Let’s be fair, because she’s so powerful she’s a bit arrogant, which is why Thanos was able to pull a fast one and remove a stone to sneak attack her. It shows that yes she’s hella powerful, but she still has a few weaknesses that can be exploited.
-Love her in that black outfit.
Nebula and Gamora:
-I LOVED how much story arc Nebula got in this movie, it was one of the things I was hoping for.
-Her bonding with Tony was really sweet
-BUT NOT AS SWEET AS HER AND ROCKET HOLDING HANDS WHEN SHE RETURNED TO EARTH
-So her and Nebula 2012 are on the same wifi so that’s how their plan got ruined, right??
-Also how in the hell was Nebula 2012 able to get not only Thanos, but his WHOLE ASS ARMY to the future??
-Nebula killed her past self real quick though.
-I like that Gamora 2012 didn’t take forever and a year to help out the good guys
-Also what happened to her after Tony snapped?
-I love the bond between her and Nebula but I really thought they should have went up against Thanos at some point. Like towards the end right before he fought Carol and instead of Thor and Cap again (but again this movie catered to the original six so can’t want that
Valkyrie and Okoye:
-These two were the main reasons I was excited to see Endgame so I feel ROBBED
-How are y’all gonna go and recruit Thor and then just leave Valkyrie behind? She fights as good, if not better, than him? And I think she was more stable?
-Once they found out about Jane from Thor, they should of just switched him out with Valkyrie since Rocket had no problem finding her once they were there.
-Also it was kinda funny during the promotions of the movie to see SO many people confused about Valkyrie surviving. Like y’all not pay attention? Thanos only murders half the population of every planet he invades. Like that’s a theme that’s been very much established lol
-And not hearing about Okoye (besides that meaningless hologram scene) or Wakanda after the snapped was wack. Her home was attacked trying to protect a doomed robot and she lost T’challa and Shuri because of it. HOW ARE WE NOT SEEING HOW SHE DEALS WITH IT??
-Honestly they should’ve just dusted Okoye and Valkyrie if they were just gonna only use them at the end when all the other characters return.
-But they’re fight scenes were SO good.
-Valkyrie on that pegasus ripping that giant monster apart was a MOOD
-It’s cool she ends up Queen of Asgard but does that mean she won’t come back for a Thor sequel?
Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch:
-Wanda showing up and beating the living shit out of Thanos was my favorite scene in the movie.
-I literally whispered ‘Hell yeah’ when she landed in between Thanos and T’challa
-Also I really hope Vision comes back so we can somehow get Billy and Tommy and get a Young Avengers movie
T’Challa/Black Panter and Shuri:
-When these two walked through the portal with Okoye I turned to the stranger next to me and said “Oh finally, we’re getting shit done’ and they laughed nodded haha
-T’challa should’ve fought Thanos by himself but it’s fine he didn’t I guess
-Also I’m almost positive the Russo brothers dusted Shuri only after IW was done and that’s why we didn’t see it. Because they realized it probably wouldn’t have taken her five years to figure out a way to bring back the others.
-It would’ve been neat at the end when Scott and Hope realize the time machine was broken if Shuri just showed up and fixed it in seconds.
Rocket and Groot:
-Rocket was funny throughout the movie but didn’t really do much.
-We needed more Groot in the end. Like action wise and moments with the other characters wise, but I’m just greedy because I love him haha
-Rocket should’ve stole Bucky’s arm.
Sam Wilson/Falcon:
-MY CAPTAIN AMERICA IS BLACK NOW BITCHES, THAT’S IT
Everyone else was cool and didn’t really leave a lasting impression on me except for maybe Ant-Man but he was just really funny the whole time to me. Again I really liked the movie and I admit that I knew I wasn’t going to be fully satisfied since this movie was about the original six. But I just hope the next time we get a movie with this much characters involved, we really use more of them story wise and not just for big fight scenes at the end. Infinity War was close but I need more (I’m annoying I know haha)
Also the movie did not feel like it was three hours at all, so good for the Russo brothers when it came to that!
Feel free to message me to chat, I’d love to hear all of your thoughts about the movie too!

ships: hawk/trap/oliver, hawk/bj, obiwan/anakin, troy/abed
i have so much to say lol
hawk/trap/oliver - yessssssssssss
What made you ship it?
specifically that scene that i believe you've giffed of hawkeye and trapper having their actual first fight ever over real estate of oliver's shoulder.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
it's really fucking hot. there are so many configurations about it i love too: oliver and trapper running a train over hawkeye and/or spitroasting him, oliver topping both hawkeye and trapper, oliver topping trapper while hawkeye lies around naked eating grapes and shouting pointers at trapper while he takes it from behind. like every cringe position you find in M/F/F porn but with these three.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
oliver is the hottest one of the three and it's not even close.
hawk/bj - also yessss, but with fewer 's's
What made you ship it?
I don't know what the right term to use is but they have.. good negative chemistry? i like to watch them fight. the best beejhawk episodes to me are the ones where they're fighting.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
it's messed up. angst and melancholy potentials off the charts. sometimes i'm in the mood for a bad ending. i'll never be as into that as i am into eventual happy endings, which i don't like for them, but sometimes i need some weird-bad vibes and they are that for me.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
all of my opinions are them are unpopular but i guess the big one that feeds all the other ones is that i think they're fundamentally incompatible as romantic partners.
obiwan/anakin - weird one, i appreciate the fanart for it, but they are too squicky for me to engage with in any other way.
Why don’t you ship it?
i don't mind saying it: it's because obiwan is in his mid-20s when he meets anakin as a child. i've seen episode i so many times and i just can't distance myself mentally from that little kid enough to where it isn't weird for me to read about them fucking, especially if it's fluffy or framed positively.
What would have made you like it?
literally if i'd never seen episode 1 i'd be all over obikin. the above reason i have for not being able to ship them is a technicality. the chemistry between hayden christensen and ewan mcgregor is undeniable, their rivalry is compelling, the possibilities for corruption kink are endless. i am annoyed that i'm squicked by them.
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
the above answer sums that up pretty well.
troy/abed
What made you ship it?
to me they're the flagship couple on community. their on-screen relationship only 'ends' because donald glover left the show.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
so many great gay moments on the show. "abed, i love you" "i know" - that happens to be one of my favourite episodes of the show for other reasons, but that was a bonus.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
aheh... i'm into more toxic explorations of their relationship. to me, it's right there. there are quite a few moments where i perceive abed to be doing things that actively hurt troy. troy's not perfect either, i think his indulgence of abed's every whim could be potentially bad for abed too.
i get why people like a fluffier version of their relationship, but the show has repeatedly dealt with the issue of the group being codependent upon one another and to me troy and abed are an extreme version of that. there's even an episode that deals directly with the fact that they "spend too much time together" but iirc it doesn't actually change much.
i have to say though, that for ~political~ reasons i do want them to have their gay kiss and happily-ever-after because it seems enough people are on board with that that it could actually happen. some may disagree but i think in this case, the value of having two racialized men on a mainstream show that debuted in 2009 get together is more important to me than seeing the aspects of their relationship that i personally find more interesting be made canon. i can read about the bad version of them in a fanfic.

this is a list of things i liked and didn’t like about endgame which i wrote the morning after i saw endgame
STUFF I LIKED
- falcon cap
- ant man!!! what a blessing. he was v funny i laughed so much it was so refreshing.
- gamora and nebula!!!! what a surprise and what a genuine pleasure that marvel continues to impress me with this sister relationship!!!!!!!!
- i kiiiind of liked bruce. i thought his character was pretty believable. like his blase attitude ... considering he’s never been known for his strength of will, and he’s been through so much shit, i believed that was *a* way he might handle this shitty situation. bruce and the hulk are both known to run away from problems, and he definitely didn’t do that this time, which was nice. but we also never got to see a true The Incredible Hulk moment which was a downer :/
- the whole sequence in 2012 new york. loved the the cap v cap fight. america’s ass was one of the moments that i was like “is this a crackfic”. thor reviving tony with mjolnir?? also loki just picking up the tesseract and bouncing was completely hysterical to me
- f a l c o n c a p
- the final battle! that was so much fun. i cried when sam said “on your left,” don’t even. and then when the wakandans walked through the portal with the sunset, my cinematic heart grew two sizes, like god, avengers movies never really impress me visually but when they do they do, right???
- VALKYRIES PEGASUS
- CAP USING MJOLNIR
- loved captain marvel
- spider-man being precious and also badass AND THE IRON SPIDWR BYE
- although it meant all my fav characters got sidelined for basically the whole movie, i appreciated the focus on the original avengers. i’m a sucker for a plot that comes full circle, and i’m a sucker for parallels, and also—this movie was SO much more focused, streamlined, and coherent than infinity war; it wasn’t busy or exhausting like it could have been. the addition of ant-man and a couple guardians was appropriate and they were some of the best characters so ... nice.
- “is that everyone?” “what, you wanted more?” Cue me, to my husband sitting next to me in the theater, “uh YEAH i wanted more, she’s still not BACK YET” boy i was so heated when carol just left for the whole movie but when she came back it was so worth it
- the opening with hawkeye was cute, his daughter was cute. i think i pissed off the stranger next to me in the theater because like 3 seconds into that scene (and the movie) i whispered “oh she is gonna be dust” and my husband snorted and the guy made some huffy noises and i was sitting there thinking “it wasn’t a spoiler it was common sense lol”
- at the end steve started to get emotional with bucky and i knew he was about to be a Bastard registered trademark, and i turned to ads and said “when hulk tries to bring him back it’s just gonna be the shield” which i think would have been very cool visually and all and it would be clear that steve just went to a new timeline, right? but i was so thrilled by his convo with sam ... they were so precious ........ that was worth it.
- (i didn’t HATE steve’s ending. it felt kind of tacked on and unnecessarily complicated, but it was also the obvious Happy Ending that they’ve been hinting at for like 8 movies with cap. the writers talked their way around their own definitions of time travel a little too much to make it work lol... but it was a very kind ending for steve, sam, bucky, and AU peggy.)
- f a l c o n c a p
- OH FUCK!!!! SAM AND BUCKY AT THE FUNERAL!!!! AHAHAHAHAHA
- actually everyone at the funeral was touching. i was touched. (and sam and bucky were TOUCHING *eyes emoji*.) pepper is v precious and Happy talking to peppers daughter made me WEEP. i mean, now i have to live in a world where tony stark is some kind of barfy fanboy messiah, but like how is that different than before l o l
- i kiiinda liked the one “girl power” thing in the final battle? mostly because i like all those characters, and i like seeing them work together. i always like seeing women work together. but it was also sooooooo hokey and like ... a bit pandering. i just want to tell the writers/producers “you don’t get to claim women’s rights after the last 12 garbage years ok” (and also after throwing ANOTHER woman in the soul stone pit fjdkfjg)
- the avengers dynamic for a lot of this movie was, finally, a team dynamic, and they worked together and at times even had fun together and it was so much more fun to watch than the last ....... every avengers movie including civil war. i mean, it wasn’t perfect throughout. and also tony was a huge douche canoe for awhile, but hey, in the end he wasn’t a bad teammate and also i never have to watch him again
STUFF I DIDN’T LIKE
- thor, just ,, pretty much entirely, but mostly the Fat Jokes. i think his arc could have been ok if he just ...... wasn’t fat. EDIT: my husband actually liked thor a lot in this movie, and he brought up some valid points, which i kinda want to make another post about. but this post is my initial reactions and in general i was just not happy with thor whenever he was on screen.
- particularly thor berating a child over the internet on a video game
- thanos continues to be boring, but there wasn’t as much of him in this movie as i expected, t h a n k
- didn’t like tony stark at all in the first half of the movie or more. what an absolutely unappealing dick. what was with his tantrum after he got back to earth?? and ripping out his IV and throwing a fit and blaming captain america? like this isn’t fun to watch, and it hasn’t been fun to watch in the last 5 avengers movies either lollll.
- tony stark’s family was off-putting for me. it was just weird to watch. i think this was a personal thing though. like individually i love pepper and the little girl but it was just ... i think it was very unexpected to me, and hard to wrap my head around
- giant plot hole where thanos just left his timeline like ok lol
- you’re trying to tell me the incredible hulk was trapped ... under a building?
- didn’t really care about hawkeye sry
- black widow is so boring to me at this point im just tired of that actor and that character and the way she’s been portrayed for a decade. objectively, her involvement in this movie worked well. subjectively, every time she speaks her voice annoys me
in summary the first half had me worried it was gonna be Another Avengers Movie but the second half i basically forgot all the dumb stuff and really had fun watching it. just ....... super entertained. loved all the parallels and full circles and cheesiness. when they gave sam the shield i think that’s the first time i’ve ever been surprised by a marvel movie and ..... boy.

Hawkeye (2021) Rewatch Reaction
x
Hawkeye 1x01 - Love seeing what happened in the 1st Avengers movie in another pov. It is neat to have the two different viewpoints of Clint jumping off the building with it being a somber time in the movie (it looking like the Avengers are losing) meanwhile in the show Kate sees it as a kickass moment.
- I have a hard time believing a regular arrow with a tennis ball on the end could destroy a whole bell tower. How does it have that much kick? lol
- Of course they made a play for the Avengers. Cringe. Can’t blame Clint for shutting it out by turning off his hearing aid (who thought the play would be a good idea?). The song was, I admit, catchy though.
- Weirdo in the bathroom. I’ve never understood fans who overstep like that.
- Does Kate’s mom not regularly talk to her about things like her boyfriend/fiance? Lousy mom.
- I know many of the comic book fans don’t like Dad!Clint but I love him so much.
- Mmm maybe not wear the famous suit from the fishy auction.
- Nathaniel’s sleeping like the dead. Lol
- Love the dog, and I know pizza’s his thing, but giving him only pizza is very questionable.
- “Come on!” – Clint, in other words: Seriously?!
This is my least favorite episode in the series, but it wasn’t as slow as I remembered it. I just prefer more Clint and Kate’s interactions with him. I don’t care about any of the other characters but them (and Clint’s family).
 Hawkeye 1x02
- Kate calling herself one of the best archers in the world. She’s not wrong, but her ego is so big. Jeez. Her talking to herself while going up the stairs about Hawkeye being in her home is relatable though.
- Shooting an arrow at the fire extinguisher backfired – big surprise.
- Kate’s got such a romanticized view of being a superhero. She hasn’t watched enough superhero shows and movies.
- The Ronin suit has nine lives considering it didn’t burn in that fire.
- Clint’s already being such a dad with Kate helping her take care of her cut appropriately.
- I love that Clint loves dogs.
- Clint: “Don’t lose Nate.” Also Clint: “Where’s Nate?” lol
- It’s so sweet Nathaniel used sign language to tell Clint he loved him. Loved Clint’s look of surprise in reaction and his joyful expression after. It’s so endearing how much that meant to him. :)
- Lila is the real boss of her siblings.
- I love that they kept the same actors from the movies for Clint’s family, even if the kids look older than they should because of it.
- The flashback scene when Kate asks why Clint is hard of hearing is hilarious. None of those scenes were funny, but in sequence it kinda is. Poor Clint. He says he’s not sure, but I’m pretty sure the Endgame blast was at least the final straw. His ears were probably ringing for days.
- I’ve seen people question why he only has one hearing aid cause even if he’s completely deaf in one ear people who need them still tend to wear 2 hearing aids, but it’s probably personal choice. Probably didn’t see the benefit vs. cost of using it in a completely deaf ear. It’s not like he’s the richest Avenger.
- I do buy Clint doesn’t want the fame that comes with him being part of the Avengers (because he doesn’t see himself as a hero).
- Clint is so bored, embarrassed, annoyed, and just generally done during the Larping event. “And I fought Thanos.” Lol – I have secondhand embarrassment for him. Grills is a nice dude though.
- “Time to get myself caught” – so casual about turning himself in to criminals. Just another day at work. XD
- Jack has such a “Mr. Cool” attitude. The fight with Kate didn’t make him blink. How was the guy not a baddie?
- “Guys, I can see through the bag.” Clint, please. Smart mouth.
- Clint just casually untying himself. Lol
- “Bro I found her.” – That mob guy is funny. So’s the one who talks too much. Makes me almost forget how dumb Kate was just falling through the window like that. Getting yourself caught isn’t going to save Clint!
- Clint’s thinking great – well, this was all for nothing.
 Hawkeye 1x03
- Maya’s origin story was sad.
- The Russian dudes are having too much fun.
- Kate asking the dude what’s wrong and him complaining about his girlfriend to her like they’re friends. XD Oh. Clint’s “done” again. Lol
- Clint saying Natasha killed the Ronin. <3
- Ridiculous overconfidence for sure.
- I wish I could just jump up like Clint did off that unicorn. I’m almost half his age. XD
- Maya has some strong opinions on hearing aids.
- I love the toy shop fight scene. And the car chase. Also Clint being disappointed the classic car still got damaged. I was disappointed too. It’s pretty.
- I love that Clint’s mainly left-handed. I mean, no one who is left-handed does everything left-handed all the time. We live in a right-handed world. You learn to do some things both ways.
- The Pym trick arrow is a pretty cool nod to Ant Man. He trusts Clint enough to get him that tech.
- So interesting to have the phone call in Clint’s pov. So heartbreaking to see him tear up and hear his voice break when Nathaniel says it’s okay if he can’t be home for Christmas. It’d be Clint’s first Christmas with his family since the snap and he’s hurting so bad over the idea of maybe not making it home in time. :( Kate’s guilty expression earned a lot of points with me in this scene.
- Argh. Kate brushing aside Clint’s speech about trying to help people coming at a cost by saying there are still good things like cool costumes. She is soooo naive. It’s clear she chooses to be.
- “I’m not a role model.” But you are the best dad though. <3
- “Man, I’m in the wrong business.” Aren’t all 99% of us, Clint?
 Hawkeye 1x04
- You know what? Screw you Kate’s mom for bringing up Natasha. It’s not like your daughter has given him much choice.
- This is the turning point where I knew Kate’s mom was trouble.
- Kate’s mom and Jack talking about her like she’s not right in front of them is weird? No?
- I love that they include scenes of Clint and Kate taking care of their wounds/injuries/etc. in this series. Clint icing the joints in his favored bow arm. Realism in superhero shows for the win.
- Kate’s so sweet trying to cheer Clint up with a holiday celebration of their own. I love this scene. Top 2 favorite scene. :) (My other is the phone call with Nate cause I like scenes that hurt me.)
- Why does Clint use the Thanos mug? (Drinking from it ironically apparently.) I’m more concerned as to why Kate’s Aunt has the Thanos mug! Hopefully she’s just a sassy old cat lady.
- “You’d have to dodge.” That might be my favorite Kate quote. Lol
- Clint’s smirk when Kate’s impressed by him turning the TV off with the ornament. :D
- The end of the night got so sad. :(
- Clint saved Natasha first and she saved him last.
- Clint having to look away side to side in order not to cry. :(
- “Can I have my gun back?” Really dude?
- Kate thought the Larping was weird but now she’s all in. XD
- Yelena really had inconvenient timing.
- I really love that Kate got stuck on the line. Realism. Ha
- Oh, the parallel of Kate being thrown off the roof with Natasha’s fall in Endgame is just heartbreaking. Especially with the music being similar in both scenes (beautiful music btw). The look on Clint’s face as he makes that connection. :( That was the moment Clint realized he couldn’t lose another friend.
- The tears in both their eyes in that end scene. :(
This and episode 3 are my favorite overall episodes of the season. They have almost all my favorite scenes too.
 Hawkeye 1x05
- Kate’s finally gained some humility.
- Yelena just…cooking at Kate’s place. XD
- Clint taking his hearing aid out to talk to Nat in “private”. That speech. :(
- The writers trying to get us all worried about what he’s about to do when he just warns Maya. He ends up doing Nat proud. <3
- BTW I love Laura so much. She’s just so supportive and trusts Clint’s instincts. (Only another agent could, eh?)
- Yelena listening to Kate and checking out who hired her.
- The King Pin reveal was so shocking. Just cause I’m not used to Netflix Daredevil characters being in other Marvel shows/movies. Should have been less shocked after No Way Home, but I wasn’t.
 Hawkeye 1x06
 - King Pin’s never been my favorite villain, but he works fine here.
- “Your mess is my mess.” <3 Ah, parallel to him saying similar in Age of Ultron about the Avengers (“They’re my mess.”). Kate’s like family now. Does Clint feel responsible for everyone he likes?
- Love how Kate literally labels the trick arrow “too dangerous”. XD
- Kate’s speech of how Clint inspired her and his smile at the end. <3
- Lookin cool in that tux Clint. ;)
- *Slap – “What was that?” lol
- Random cute owl in the tree awwwwww
- Even though Clint is “only human” he still lives by action hero rules, so he’s still kinda superhuman. Ha
- The Kate and Clint shooting arrows side by side scene is so epic. Them favoring different arms to pull back on their bows just makes it even better, imo.
- Love when Clint doesn’t even look where he’s shooting. Show-off.
- “Nice shot.” “Yeah, no shit.” XD
- Kate’s mom really thought she’d understand everything she did? No, you don’t know her lady.
- The whistle. Yelena realized then Clint wasn’t the enemy. I think she already did though deep down. She was just looking for someone to blame for her pain. This scene hurts lots.
- “I’m so proud of you.” <3
- I was so happy Clint brought Kate to his house for Christmas. Of course he did. She’s his second daughter now. :)
- And his family just takes her in as one of their own. <3
- Nice reveal of how Clint met Laura – her being an agent of SHIELD.
- Kate’s the next in line as Hawkeye ending. I wonder if Marvel will do anything more with their characters? I don’t think I’d watch Kate alone, but I’d love more of the two of them.
Final Notes: I love this show so much – of course it’s underrated just like Hawkeye himself. Could’ve used a couple more episodes personally, but the show flowed well as is. I just could’ve taken more Clint and Kate scenes.
