You open one eye as someone knocks on your door, though quickly close it again as a swell of pain steals the air from your lungs. Your insides feel like mush, and everything below your belly button aches. 

You feel something soft on your face, and when you open your eyes again, you’re embarrassed and incredibly relieved at the same time to find Jongho running his knuckles down your cheek.

“Jongho?” you ask weakly. “What are you doing here?”

“I told you I was on my way, didn’t you see my last text?” he asks. You realize he’s crouched in front of the couch, where you collapsed an hour ago and haven’t moved since. You shake your head. 

“N-No, ‘m sorry.”

“It’s okay. What do you need?”

“A hysterectomy.”

“Funny. What else do you need? Have you taken anything?”

Jongho clicks his tongue as you shake your head. He leaves for a few moments, so you close your eyes again. But then you’re being urged to sit up, and your face crumples in pain. 

“Here,” he says, sliding onto the sofa beside you. You take the glass of water he’s holding, sipping it down as he drops something in the palm of your hand. Two tylenol; you take them, finishing off the water. 

“Why didn’t you take anything earlier?” he asks, lifting a hand to your cheek. His palm is warm and you lean into it. Your head hurts. Your face hurts. Your back, legs, stomach. All of you hurts. 

“I just kind of curled up to die,” you admit, looking up at him. “Didn’t wanna move.”

Jongho sighs and wraps an arm around you, pulling you into his firm chest. Your arms go around his neck as you bury yourself against him.

He’s soft and warm and smells so good; his cologne isn’t overwhelming, just a note of something that could only be described as “manly.” It's amazing how a person could make you feel safe with just a hug, but that was Jongho.

“What can I do for you, baby?” he asks, brushing hair away from your face. He presses a kiss to your temple, letting his lips rest there. You nuzzle your nose into his shoulder and inhale, making him chuckle.

“Nothing,” you mumble. “Just be here.”

You open your eyes, blinking and rubbing at them. You're a little groggy and confused, but feel something firm and warm behind you. You tilt your head back, and Jongho kisses you below your ear.

"Hi," he hums softly. You groan, feeling a little more human but mostly still mush.

His fingers twitch and your face flushes—his large hand covers the softness of your lower belly, thumb gently brushing your skin. You were holding his wrist, very obviously not wanting him to move even in your sleep.

“What time is it?” you ask. You finally release him and move your hand to your stomach, resting it over his—still hurts, though not nearly as bad as before. Could’ve been the medicine, but you suspected it had to do with a certain someone as well. 

You roll over so that you're facing him, squished together on your small couch. He doesn't seem to mind and wraps his arms securely around you, pulling you snug against his form.

“It’s close to 1 a.m., you haven’t been sleeping very long,” Jongho says, rubbing your arm. “How are you feeling? Need more medicine?”

You shake your head. 

“It’s better now,” you say with a shy smile. Jongho smiles back, so cutely that you have to lean forward and kiss him. You move your hands to either side of his face.

He sighs against your mouth and hugs you tight, pulling back just enough that your noses are still touching. 

“Wanna go to bed?” he asks, stealing another chaste kiss. He moves his hands down to your lower back, fingers firm yet gentle as he massages either side of your spine. You nearly melt with relief, moaning as you tuck yourself against him. 

“No. Don’t wanna move. Feels good,” you mumble. Jongho hums a laugh. You rest for a few seconds until he begins to sit up. You grab his hoodie for purchase until he stands, smoothly lifting you up bridal style and adjusting you in his arms. You wrap your arms around his shoulders and cling to him, pouting at the sudden disruption.

When you open your mouth to protest, he kisses you, using soft lips to steal whatever complaints you may have wanted to file.

“I’ve got you,” he murmurs, pressing his lips to your cheek as he speaks. “Let's go to bed."

"Can you hold me?" you ask quietly. Jongho nods.

"Of course, baby. That's why I'm here."

recommend one of your favorite fanfics (spread the love!): Ok I have more than one favourites but what I'll do is share the one that devastated me and that would be Chasing Cars. I've read it at least twice and after reading it the first time I actually cried a few times and stared at the ceiling while simultaneously making a playlist because there was just so much that I really wanted to say but I didn't know how to. Maybe I should start saving my fave fics because I have sooo much more I could share here but I can't remember the names right right now :(

Redacted Bois and Which K-pop Groups They’d Stan

Idk if there are a lot of K-pop+redacted fans there are out there but I made this for funsies 😋🫶🏼

David is more of a casual listener, but whenever he’s working out or doing yard work, he listens to EXO. He got really into it when he was younger and bought one of their albums. He then played it for a whole month. Angel was trying not to laugh when he accidentally played Monster on the speakers near the pool (they secretly liked it tho).

Asher definitely listens to Block B. He likes to blast their music anytime, anywhere. On the way to the grocery store? Absolutely banging to Very Good. Cooking? Accidentally burning the food to Nalili Mambo. Trying to get Babe’s attention? Passionately singing Her. He just gets really hyped when he listens to them.

Milo is secretly an aghase and could talk about GOT7 for hours if you ask him about it. He's really passionate about them and their music. Sometimes he uses Teenager or If You Do as entrance music, like sitting on the bed waiting for Sweetheart to come in. He was pretty upset when they announced that they won't be actively making music together, but he still enjoys all of their solo projects/music.

Vincent is a huge ENHYPEN stan. Their whole concept is vampires but despite that, Vincent really likes their music. He and Lovely started watching their survival show and then became obsessed with them once they debuted. He knows the point dance from each title track and learned the Bite Me partner choreo with Lovely.

Sam listens to Girls’ Generation as a guilty pleasure. He accidentally clicked on the music video for Gee back in 2008 and has followed them ever since. He was pretty embarrassed when Darlin’ caught him listening to it, but he was able to convince them to listen to it with him.

Gavin doesn’t really stan a certain group but likes a lot of solo artists, specifically Taemin, Kai, and Hwa Sa. He just feels so connected to their music and actively follows their releases. He was listening to some of their music one day, Freelancer asked what he was listening to, he showed them and they liked it too. They've definitely listened to Mmmh by Kai while making out. he is mr rover and he is coming over

Lasko doesn't listen to really big groups in the industry and instead likes the K-bands more, specifically Day6. He gets into his feels when he listens to them (especially since i hc that hes a hopeless romantic). He learned Korean just so he could sing Congratulations and Zombie even though theres an english ver.

Damien got really into SHINee in high school. He was kind of a toxic stan though 💀. He would get into fights on Twitter and (almost) physical fights at school. He would stay up until 3 am to start streaming music the moment the MVs would drop and then yell at people online to start streaming. But don't worry, he's calmed down now. He gets pretty nostalgic when Sherlock plays on shuffle.

Huxley really liked GFRIEND and supported them in any way that he could, such as streaming, buying albums, and voting them for MusicBank. He tried to show Damien their songs and played Rough but Damien wasn't really into it. He was devastated when they disbanded and Damien had to comfort him for a whole week. He's just such a wholesome girl group stan, it's adorable.

Caelum likes to dance and sing to a lot of PENTAGON and SEVENTEEN songs, even though he doesn't know what the lyrics mean. His favorite songs are Naughty Boy and Pretty U, respectively. Both groups have a lot of members, but he doesn't know all of them. He likes to watch the MVs with Freelancer and point out the few members he does know.

Elliott likes TXT's more chill songs like Fairy of Shampoo and Ghosting. He's a very relaxed fan when it comes to them. He knows all the members and their songs but isn't super active in the community or when it comes to buying merch. Whenever a new album comes out he'll listen to it for about a week and then put his favorites into a playlist. Sunshine started liking them because of him and probably asked him to make a dreamscape that was a TXT concert.

Blake isn't really into it but randomly listened to Love Scenario by iKON and cried to it after looking up the lyrics. He had it on repeat for a whole week.

Guy fell into the “I just want to know their names” trope with TWICE and BTS. He thought it would be funny if he randomly/ironically knew the members’ names and ended up being a HUGE stan of both. Bought every album, lightstick, and a lot of official merch. He’s been to a lot of their concerts and literally screams the fan chants. He biases Jin and Dahyun and has their photo cards in his phone case, as well as an RJ sticker.

Geordi saw NewJeans in a Coca-cola advertisement, decided to check out their music, and ended up really liking their music. It introduced him to K-pop and he casually listens to a lot of groups, but NewJeans is his ult. Their songs are really catchy so they end up playing in his mind 24/7, sometimes somehow mixing with the Tetris theme. He likes all of their songs but his current favorites are Super Shy and ASAP.

3. What fandoms do you write for? literally depends on whatever I'm interested in at the moment. Right now, I go between haikyuu and love in the air. the bulk of my stuff is from high school/early college when i was super into attack on titan and voltron

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

i didn't steal your boyfriend (in fact, i didn't touch him at all): this one is crazy because it's quite literally so stupid LMAO i wrote it when i was 14 and yet it still gets the occasional kudos. madness!!

go ahead and cry little boy: i also think this one is dumb, but i was so committed to it. it's still the longest fic i've ever written and it took a lot out of me. i wrote it between sophomore and junior year of high school and it was a lot. a lot of people over the years have said that they resonated with it, so i keep it up for them even though it kills me inside every time i remember i wrote it lol. i don't think the writing is necessarily bad, but it definitely reads juvenile (which tracks lol). as an adult looking back on it, there's so much i want to change

and i wanna feel it all: my first love in the air phayu/rain fic. this one baffles me too, but more because i literally wrote in maybe an hour or two and a lot of people ended up liking it!

tighter than before, no regrets: another one that i put very little effort into. but i still like this one, it was fun and i don't mind it

me and your boyfriend: this one i'm really proud of actually lol. i got to explore a new relationship dynamic and people were so encouraging. i think it helped me to try new things in fics

5. Do you respond to comments? i try to! i usually reply as they come in so i don't forget. but there are times that i put it off, and then it's been months and it feels like it's too late to respond haha

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? i had to go back and look, but i've written quite a few unrequited love/pining fics (it's my favorite trope), and a few of those ended without the characters getting together/any resolution. i also wrote a few fics about character death so i would count those as well.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? most of them! i'm a sucker for a getting together fic, so that's the majority of my endings.

8. Do you get hate on fics? i haven't in years. maybe since 2014. i guess if people don't like my stuff, they just click off. which is actually nice!

9. Do you write smut? i do! i've been getting more comfortable with it, especially with doing extended scenes or full on pwp

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? i don't! i don't read crossovers so i don't have an urge to write them either

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? no, and i don't think it's something i want to do lol. even when i write something in the spur of the moment, i have a strict sense of the vibe i want to go with and i feel like i'd hold the other person back

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? a 14k werewolf fic i originally wrote for got7 that will never see the light of day (it's been on my computer since 2018 lmao). my draft literally ends in the middle of a sentence 💀. i want to do SOMETHING with it since it's so long, but i don't know how to write it into something new

15. What are your writing strengths? i've been complimented a lot on how i write emotions, so i'll go with that. some of my favorite fics and books were the kind where you could physically feel the emotions as they're described, so i think i try to emulate that in my own writing

16. What are your writing weaknesses? maybe describing scenery? like if a character is in an apartment or a store or whatever. i just think it's a pain in the ass and i don't care enough to do it lol. but other than that, imposter syndrome and low self-esteem 🤪

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i don't care, do what you want. as long as it's accurate and there's a translation for the readers

18. First fandom you wrote for? big time rush LOL. it was 2011, i was in fifth grade, and i just found fanfiction.net. i scrubbed my entire profile so all those fics are gone but yeah. what a time 😂

19. Favorite fic you’ve written? i had to go through my shit and think about it. i can't pick one so i'll give my top three in no particular order

hurricane - this one i liked because i wrote it when i was into writing in short sections. i've since become wordy and expansive, but this was a writing style i picked up that i still really like. and it's a pining fic, so ofc it's one of my favorites lol

hands up on your hips - this was a self-indulgent corruption kink fic that i still feel so strongly about lmao. it was something i really wanted to do and i loved how it came out (also it was a pwp i wrote when i was still unsure of my smut skills so it felt extra rewarding)

a proximity thing - this was a friends to lovers fic that i loved writing because i liked describing how the characters felt something building between them both physically and emotionally. it's a vibe i've since recreated multiple times (for the same pairing too lol) because it's one of my favorite aspects of this trope. building on a familiar dynamic and writing how it's slowly starting to morph into something new is so exciting for me

10 Songs Related to Mushu that I want others to discover this year!

This is just Mushu's playlist, but I'm going to highlight 10 of the songs on here and talk about them a bit under the cut:

Loser by BIGBANG To be honest, this was the very first song I put to Mushu's playlist when I got him. "Loser, loner, a coward pretending to be tough" is something that comes off a little strong but at the same time, I love writing loser characters for different reasons. If you look at most of my muses they tend to be losers in different ways for different reasons. But Mushu specifically, the coward pretending to be tough is such a fitting thing for him and how he's pretending to be a lot that he isn't.

Loser=Lover by TXT Speaking of loser energy... TXT's Loser=Lover is another one I added super fast to Mushu's playlist and highly recommend it. It's a sort of punk rocky sound, which for kpop is super cool and fun. This album they dropped tbh is my favorite they've ever done. in any case, a few stand out lyrics as to why it made it to Mushu's playlist are "This life like a war I'm always the loser" as well as "by the end of my clumsy flight I don't care if everyone laughs." Idk TXT does the young teenage/young adult song so good. It's hard to get better than that.

Dancing Through Life from the Wicked Soundtrack As soon as I finished watching Wicked for the first time, I knew I wanted to add this song to Mushu's playlist. I've known Wicked before, but watching it again and experiencing it like this, it really hit me how many of the lyrics fit where Mushu is right now on his journey and wanting to pretend like everything's good. "Life's more painless for the brainless, why think too hard when it's so soothing?" and also "Nothing matters, but knowing nothing matters" really feels to me like they fit into Mushu core. I even titled a thread with him and Hades 'Why Invite Stress In?' Because it just hit me hard for him.

BOX by NCT Dream This is a song it took me a bit to appreciate. But it's a feeling I get about Mushu and how he's felt about the limitations of his life because of him being the "ordinary" one in his family. "Break free from yesterday's restraints. Breaking the long silence that trapped me" and the lyrics "Don't put me in a box I'm banging on the roof" are both lines that caught me and made me think about Mushu more. To me this song is in some way yelling to be respected and not to be cornered into one shape or a box and to be allowed to do more. And that's a feeling that Mushu has.

Child by Mark Lee I really really love this song, for starters, and I think more of you need to appreciate Mark Lee. He's a talented guy, and his lyrics are lovely in this song. It resonated for me with Mushu, because it's a song about coming into adulthood, but wanting to avoid certain expectations and figuring out who you are and it's just a song prime for the stage of life Mushu is in. My favorite lyrics that resonated to me in it are "It's my question, many questions who am I in others eyes? Who am I? Who I'll be?" and also "There's a lot that I don't know, but you learn when you don't know" and the song truly is lovely to listen to. I recommend you guys to listen to it!

Misfit by NCT U I freaking love this song. This song should have been a title song with a full music video but it was underappreciated. I'll start there. It's super catchy, and it's like the rappers of NCT coming together to make a bop. And the lyrics are fun, and I love the energy of the Misfit that doesn't fit in normally but ends up embracing that element. I think it fits Mushu really well. "Misfit, never fit in The things that stop me are already six feet under my feet" are some of the lyrics I like in it. Anyway, highkey recommend. It's a good time.

If You Do by Got7 This song technically is meant romantic, but I've tweaked it in my brain to relate to Mushu and his family. The concept of the song is about a person who when they do or say something everything's fine, but if the singers act or do anything it's all wrong. So in that sort of imagery, if Mushu's brother or his dad do something it all goes well and it's correct and good, but if Mushu does he can never do anything right. "If you do, it always becomes the right words. If you do, I can never win. Suddenly you become a different person. When we get along, well, I get more nervous" It just feels poignant and it fits to me. I also really just love this song so much. More people love on Got7. It's a good time, I promise.

No Rules by TXT See, and here we have another TXT song because, like I said, they write about the feelings really well. This song is super fun, and they sing about wanting to be a punk and not wanting routines and wanting to go back to where it was before where there are no rules. And that's something that Mushu craves too. To not have such a mold to be stuck in.

Glitch Mode by NCT Dream Honestly I just really like this song, and the concept of glitching out and trying to process feelings or something bigger feels right to me to have for Mushu too. Plus it's the group his fc is in so it's just fun to play with that a little. But the idea of like buffering and like trying to handle a new situation but not really knowing how is good and solid and very him.

Mr. Brightside by The Killers Okay I'm quite sure that everyone knows Mr. Brightside at this point in life. But it is on Mushu's playlist and maybe you all want to rediscover it at this time, idk. But the lyrics "it started out with a kiss how did it end up like this" I feel like you can replace kiss with a lot of things and it would key right into Mushu's chaos storyline. Lol. It started out with a spell how did it end up like this? Idk it's funny and it also fits Mushu's energy very well. I love it.

Comments: I think this was such a good debut. The only critique I’ve heard of it was how they feel too Got7 coded and not have their own sound which I get but I feel like the debut and the first comeback you can get away with not being super unique. I think it’s this a room to grow situation where they can branch into their own sound. Everything was amazing I loved listening to it, Like a monster took me 2-3 listens as it felt so different it took me out at first but I also love it now. I did buy the album and I’m so excited for their first comeback their really seeming like they might become another ult group of mine next to Stray Kids and Itzy. Umm Great was on repeat when I dropped and I also loved Knock Knock first listen. Similar to like a monster Warriors took me 2 listens as I wasn’t feeling it for some reason but I’m entirely on board now. I’m so excited for them and their further releases!

Comments: I’m not familiar with Got7’s music so I can’t say how good of a comeback this was for that perspective but as a new fan I think this was amazing. My only issue with Python is that it is way to short, 2:30 mins! That is a crime against me, against kpop, against society as a whole. I need it to be at minimum 3:30, it’s too good to not have a bridge. I loved Tidal Wave, that Kryptonite line in the pre chorus has me in a choke hold. Smooth is also very fun to listen too. Comments: I just felt like checking this out just cause and it was actually a really nice ep. Even though I wouldn’t listen to 2 of the songs they were still really nice for the 2 times I listened to them. I really liked Double Triple idk it gave me western vibes and I really like that. I wish more groups would lean into a western theme sometimes like with Itzy’s Wild Wild West aka one of my fav Itzy songs. Speed also a good listen and does lean more into what I would typically listen too I just didn’t see myself playing often. Winter comes and OMW we’re also good not as much my typical music but we’re also nice. I do like their use of guitars in their songs and may check out some other releases of theirs. Comments: Overall not my typical music I’d listen too. I don’t typically keep myself to only one sound but my favs tend to be Stray Kids, Itzy, and similar sounds but this was still a really nice ep. I LOVE conversation it very much got stuck in my head and Promise You also was a song that could also very easily be stuck in my head. The other songs didn’t really stick with me despite Boy and Yay also being more upbeat songs however I am going through Shinee’s discography so maybe when I try this again later on I’ll have a different opinion on it. Winner and Graduation were a little too slow for me however overall I do really like his vocals which made listening to these songs in general a fun time.

Comments: honestly I feel like I sound give more CIX music a listen. THUNDER felt 80s/70s to me if that makes sense, it just feels like a more older sound to it and I love it. I think this was a wonderful choice for their TT. It really grabbed me in the first listen however I just ended up liking Bad Moves and Lovers or Enemies more. Bad Moves I liked so much I went back for another listen I just really liked the chorus. With Livers or Enemies I just liked the sound of it overall, I did really like the Inst in this with more of the bass to it (I hope that’s the right word). My everlasting song also really good. I think similar to Onew the vocals in the song made it a more fun listen for me despite not being the typical sound I would listen too. My shadow is near is also a really good song, also slower, it just wasn’t for me though if you like it I totally see why.

Comments: this is actually longer at around 50 min as they had a lot of Penta version of previous songs but I decided to only do the new releases. IKUK actually did get stuck in my head a little. A lot of groups seem to be using their phrase in TT is this suddenly popular in Korea. XG and Illit have song called IYKYK, both great btw, recently so I just found that interesting. Devilish Love is also really good I feel like for me it and IKUK can easily switch back and forth. I love finding groups with a member with a deep voice and it always reminds me of Felix and also I like hearing to deep voices. We are Young was a good song it just didn’t seem like one I would listen too if on a playlist I think I just didn’t enjoy the chorus as much. Rupert’s Drop and W were just a little too slow for me though I did enjoy listening to Rupert’s drop as I liked those Inst more. Once again loved the vocals, also made Rupert’s drop a better listen for me.

Comments: Once again this is my personal opinion but I loved Ride or Die it was one of my fav songs going into Feb and I’ll stand by it. SMB was pretty good it may give Ride or Die a run for its money on more listens as I do like that type of sound. I’m not familiar with Gfriend outside of Me Gustas Tu and Mago, sadly it can no longer hold the title of best disbandment song, but I’m very happy for all the fans and I hope they release more for you guys and for the members. The songs were great but Always did feel like a more proper disbandment/goodbye song than Mago. Seasons of memories was also very good! I’m so happy 4eve can swear now it’s amazing let Stray Kids say F*** next. I know they released in Dec but I wanted to add them anyway. The only thing I didn’t like in Imma be was the beginning half of the chorus “silly silly”, for me it took me out of the song which otherwise I REALLY liked it was wonderful, I hope for a lot of success for them. I really need to check out VVUP’s debut I haven’t yet but this was also a fun song maybe later I’ll listen again after listening to their debut and change my mind. Once again very happy for BB Girl fans just wasn’t for me. U_Chae’s song was just slow for me personally though the vocals were very good!

hello to anyone who chooses to read this!

one of my favorite things ever is to create some laborious task for myself that will probably end up making me at least a little bit miserable in the process, and in 2025 that task is listening to every single kpop song released this year! (or at least every kpop song i'm aware of. this is obviously not a super easy thing to keep track of. i have been consulting this wiki page and also just listening to whatever happens to pop up on spotify or social media..... and that's gonna have to be good enough.) so anyway i told my sister about this and she very reasonably said 'this is an insane goal and im expecting some kind of periodical digest please' and then she said i should make a blog, so here i am on tumblr.com in the year 2025 blogging about kpop.

ngl every time i listen to this song i sit through the first minute thinking 'hmmm... don't think i like this song at all,' and then the bridge(?) hits around the minute mark and suddenly i realize..... i actually love it lol.

Minnie (feat. TEN) - Obsession

this song is a bop. i'm not sure whose choice it was to reach out to ten on this one, but i thank them for their service. minnie and ten have great vocal chemistry and also just pretty good chemistry in general.

CIX - My Everlasting Sun

i don't think i've ever listened to this group before... from what i can tell they're not necessarily a ballad group, but there are some really beautiful vocals in this song.

Got7 - Python

another bop and that's all i have to say. jk i also have to say that i love to see some old kpop men make a comeback, and it seems like they all had fun. heartwarming! (i should note that every single one of these 'old kpop men' is, in fact, younger than me.)

just an all around decent debut album, which i didn't know was even legal. aren't baby groups supposed to have at least one song that's kind of total ass? i do kind of feel like kickflip makes poser music for posers (every single bit of marketing i've seen for them feels the need to explain what a 'kickflip' is to the audience), but they are signed under jype so idk what i expected.

Eunhyuk - EXPLORER

don't know what to say except that i am truly shocked and delighted by how dated this album sounds.

i've got to be honest here, this wasn't exactly a banger of a month for kpop albums, but i do stand behind HER in a big way. am i a minnie fan now? yes. (duh.)

Literally G-Dragon like I don't even know if there's any other right answer to this...the man singlehandedly started most of the fashion trends that hit my part of the world at countless points. I literally wore a headscarf to work today because of him, loooooool.

you get a free ticket to a kpop concert of your choice, but the catch is that your choices are limited to only groups you do not stan. which group are you picking? Probably Stray Kids? I'm a bit partial to noise music and they're one of the best – if not the best – groups who do the genre.

rank the big 4 in order of music quality HYBE > JYP > SM > YG. This is highly subjective and really mostly based on the groups I've found myself liking or disliking throughout my time as a K-pop fan.

My only note is that YG would've ranked 2nd because I ult Bigbang, but they left the label 2ish years ago and I listen to literally nobody from their current roster so they've since fallen straight down to last.

Jungkook can literally try anything and he'd be good at it; I like to think Jin would make an excellent athlete since he has a really good build. I've heard SHINee Minho is the ace at everything sports so him too + then there's GOT7 Jackson and Enhypen Sunghoon who are legitimate athletes in fencing and figure skating, respectively.

I don't know enough about other idols to guess who would be bad, though.

what kpop song has lyrics that comfort you the most? 00:00 by BTS is extremely comforting to me that it usually makes me emotional, and I consciously make an effort not to listen to it as often as I do their other songs so that it can remain feeling special.

if you’ve been into kpop for 5+ years, what do you feel is the worst thing about the new generation of kpop stans? Full disclaimer, I've only been here for 4 years so I don't know how much my opinion would matter - but the amount of coddling people do over their favorites can feel very surreal and "...why?" sometimes. Overanalyzing a live to see if they're squirming over hate comments, overbabying the maknaes, overdefending an idol even if they sucked at performing or did something wrong...it's moments I'm grateful I'm at least somehow more normal than some people lmfao.

On a side note it's kind of why it's been such a blast and VERY EASY becoming a VIP so far? They did a good job cultivating this culture of themselves doing whatever they want with fans simply learning to simply cheer them on and understand they're just grown men who have jobs just like us.

also for kpop stans who’ve been here for 5+ years, have you ever lost interest or do you feel like you could eventually lose interest in kpop? That remains to be seen. I'm still very much a fan of K-pop and I imagine it'd be hard to let it go – I have physical manifestations and reminders of it everywhere in my room LOL (all my merch!!!) that I feel like growing out of it would make me feel a bit guilty – not to the groups but toward myself, since I had already spent so much.

At this point in time and at least for me, the excitement just dwindles after your 'baby' period – after you watch all the funny moments compilations, after the excitement of memorizing who everyone is and their birthdays and their favorite food and whatnot... you kind of just 'settle' into the fandom and that's that. It definitely felt that way for me with BTS after the 1-year mark, and then again when they went to the military...but the love remains all the same. I'm just not as loud about it anymore.

what do you hate the most about the fandom(s) you’re in? Everything. ARMY is objectively the worst fandom of fandoms. It's why I left Twitter - people over there gotta stop acting like BTS is a goddamn religion lol

what really surprised you about idol culture when you first learned about/got into kpop? How cornily family-friendly everything is. I had to contend with the era of BH censoring BTS' tummies or torsos every time they'd slip out on screen...or the fact that nobody can curse, or do funny faces so that we don't see them 'ugly'...it's not just a matter of keeping family-friendly, but also the lengths labels go to rigidly curate and protect their image. Sasaeng culture is also a sad discovery for me.

seeing the post mentioning venus originally being got7's sister i feel kinda nostalgic... how would be the current lineup (baebi, chloe, sena, jiah and possibly bliss) if there was no angelico but they were "just" a group under jyp? like success-wise and even more plot-wise? (it's crazy how much i loved them back then and still love them even though they are sooo different now)

back in the day when they were just under jyp, venus was very successful! like, they surpassed twice and got7 and we in the leagues with blackpink. there was a point were they were so successful, they were isolated from their jyp peers which constellations didn't like as they really liked seeing twius and v7 interactions. they were not a fan of venus x skz interactions as there was a big scandal involving chan and yoonah that they completely blamed on chan when it was literally all yoonah's fault but skjdfnsd just know if stray kids had no haters constellions were dead lol 😭

a lot of venus' plots back there were more focused on like .... who i wanted to write fanfic about at the time lol! like I'll be blunt, i used venus as a way to write smut about my faves simply because i didn't wanna write reader inserts anymore and wanted to explore "darker" storylines which i don't think were that dark? idk my threshold for dark has risen over the years but i did want to explore toxic relationship more (yoochan + yoonah x jaebeom + chloe x johnny) while still having an outlet to project and kiss kpop boys fictionally sfdsfsdf.

i want to say the main storyline back then, was yoonah and her depression and drug abuse as well as chloe and johnny navigating their relationship post him cheating on her. i will say those plots, while good and still dear to me, were most def me working through my own experiences with mental health and toxic relationships which truly i still do in my writing to this day, but idk i like to think I've grown as a writer since then.

Wong kar wai is a Hong Kong director i found him through tarantino's recommendations and I loved his films so much his style of films are kinda different from your typical hongkong cinema hits. If you love dreamy (?) vivid cinematography with an aesthetically pleasing colour palette, amazing soundtracks and nonlinear narratives or you just appreciate good films i really recommend Wong kar wai! My favs have to be Chungking express (1994) and fallen angels (1995) they are kinda connected but can also be watched as stand alones (maybeee i love fallen angels just a little bit more because of Takeshi Kaneshiro) in the mood for love is also really good

My experience at my first got7 concert;

Part 1: Before the concert was SO shitty

Okay! SO

I arrive to the venue at 7am day of the concert (and lemme tell you right now, for the people who stayed over night at the venue who were in Pit 1 Pit2, its completelyyyyy unnecessary because I ended up getting to the very front without doing that 💁 also, super dangerous to do that but you do you i guess)

So these like 5 girls who slept over night (they said they were there for 2 nights straight then they said they were there for 4 days so they were basically full of BS) they take it upon themselves to start numbering people in line by writing numbers on the back of peoples hand who are lining up AND in case the marker washes off or something they wrote peoples names on a notebook with there number on it.

It was basically to keep everything in control and orderly and thats good. I respect that. BUT NO IT WAS AN INGREDIENT TO UTTER DISASTER

So these girls literally just did this because they were so fucking paranoid of losing their spots in the front of the line (which i would be too if i stayed over night and waited that long dont get me wrong). But They wanted to be like "OH IM NUMBER ONE" and solidify that statement with this numbering system that THEY came up with (not an official thing WHICH I THOUGHT IT WAS LIKE THE ENTIRE TIME)

So BECAUSE it wasnt an official thing and they werent telling people who were lining up about this number thing some people lining up had numbers (thankfully i knew about the numbers because i was in a group chat for the concert and they told me about it) but a ton of people didnt and because the girls who started this whole thing got sick of writing numbers on people they were like "oh we're stopping at like 163" or some shit when there was like 400 people.

Then this is where MADNESS commences. Fucking for god knows WHAT reason. Subk decides to put a merch table RIGHT AT CLOSE TO THE BEGGINING OF THE LINE FOR THE CONCERT so people who were bunching up to by merch didnt move back to their spot in the line because now they were closer to the front of the line (most of these people were not numbered).

So now theres this MASSIVE crowd of people in the frontish of the line and im like wtf is going on and panicked and joined them because i was 140th or 150th in line or something but now i was like 300th and i was NOT having that. Like i wasnt waiting in line for 10 hours to be 300th

ALSO SUBK AND VENUE STAFF NEVER EVER CAME OUT TO ORGANIZE THE LINE OR PUT DIVIDERS OR ANYTHING BUT THEY FUCKING DECIDE TO PUT THAT MERCH TABLE IN LIKE THE SINGLE MOST WORST AREA LIKE ?????????????

Okay so at this point venue staff and subk staff were like freaking tf out. And telling everyone who is now in a jumbled fucking mess to be in a single filed line. Like sweety no ones going to listen to you. And of course no one did. So they just start SHOVING people back. And i, who was amongst this crowd of people and is very short had no idea wtf was happening and i was just flowing with the crowd getting pushed back and then i ran into like this pole thing behind me but the crowd kept going back and my leg got stuck on it and i alMOST FELL.

I was legit having a panic attack because i was alone in this mess

After like 10-20 minutes of this mess. Here comes those girls at the front of the line taking charge because they feel like they have authority. They start screaming numbers to get the numbered people back in order. Once they got to 100 though they just STOPPED (??) And they just made any numbers above 100 (me) and the rest non-numbered people (a ton of fucking people) to move back to the back of the line and they just shoved me in some random spot in like the end of the line and im like WTF BITCH I HAVE A NUMBER???

So i take it upon myself to find my own spot in the numbered people line and i eventually find it. But heres where this is fucked up

People who had been waiting in line maybe longer than me or just as long as me or just waiting a really fucking long time AND DIDNT HAVE NUMBERS basically just got sent to the back of the line because these bitches were too lazy to give everyone numbers even though they were the ones who started it all. Yeah its kind of an annoying task but YOU GAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO YOURSELF SO FINISH IT??

So people who couldve been like 100th in line could now be at the end of the line because they didnt get a number because why would they know about this numbering system when it was unofficial and these girls werent going around telling people to get numbers because AGAIN they just wanted to solidify their own first placing they didnt actually care about the rest of the people (which is backed up by not finishing the number system they started. Like they didnt care)

So all in all, those girls probably ruined some peoples nights because of there fake system and i hope they feel so great about that. And also SUBK AND VENUE STAFF SHOULD BE MORE ON TOP OF ORGANIZATION LIKE WHAT THE FUCK? like the girls are just a bunch of dumb girls but staff is STAFF like get it together and organize shit better.

I literally was feeling like there was going to be chaos because i kept looking around and not seeing security, not seeing staff, and not seeing any subk people. Okay thats it

Namjoon closed his book, staring out the window as the last rays of sunlight faded out behind the silhouette of the city.

'Finally.' He'd been waiting anxiously for it to grow dark enough to be safe to go out. Pulling his shoes on, he quickly made his out onto the street.

He pulled his ballcap lower as he passed through a particularly crowded area, keeping his head down to avoid giving faces to the passing figures, the neon glow of the city lights splashing them with artificial vibrancy. It was easier to ignore the need in the pit of his stomach if he didn't make eye contact.

That was how it always started; accidentally meeting someone's eye, the brief glimpse into their soul triggering the hunters reflex in him, flicker over his vision, canines sharpening.

He didn't mean to be that way, it truly was involuntary. Vampires were incredibly instinctual, driven by an ever present thirst.

Feeding was about far more than just satiating hunger. It was like a complete and total fusion of souls. When he fed from someone, he could feel everything they felt, be everything that they were. In those moments, he was filled with pure euphoria.

In all the years since he had become this way, he had become certain that there was nothing, no drug or liquor, that could ever compare.

But it was a drug he couldn't handle. it was too strong for him, too easy to overindulge in, and that had come at too high a price for those he took from, often costing them their life.

If he didn't care it would be easier, but he did. So now he had learned to control the hunger, surviving on tasteless blood bags. He didn't let himself get close to anyone anymore, moving about in a silent, colorless blur, living only for his work, denying himself any indulgence.

Until you.

It had seemed random at the time, but now, he believed it to be fate, when one evening he had wandered into a small, unassuming bookshop and there you were. Soft, bright, so full of color, a goddess reincarnate in his eyes.

He had tried not to be obvious at first, trying focus his attention on one book after another, only for his gaze to be continually drawn back to you. The yellow glow of the steetlight through the window caught in your hair, creating a golden halo around you as you carefully rearranged one of the shelves, somehow so ethereal in something so benign.

You had a relaxing air about you that was intoxicating, your eyes a youthful honesty that he envied. Being around you brought back a warmth he hadn't known in a long time. He felt it seep through him, like ink through paper, staining him with you.

He started coming by more and more often. The two of you would spend hours talking about favorite books and interests. You were independent and unafraid to speak your mind, making it clear that you were equally into him.

When he finally got up the courage to offer and walk you home one night, you'd immediately said yes.

It was like he'd been brought back to life again, a withered rose bush revived by the summer rain.

But just as roses had their thorns, his darkness loomed just below the surface, threatening to crack through the controlled exterior he had carefully constructed.

His attraction for you was a double edged sword. As you grew closer his hunger grew. Everything about you drew him in, your voice, your scent, your touch.

The first time you kissed, his fangs had slipped out. When you'd let out a gasp at the feeling of them scraping against your lips, he had tried to turn away, ashamed, but you wouldn't let him.

You had seen him for his true self and loved him anyway. Rather than making him more cautious, his addiction to you had only intensified.

Some nights he would just sit outside your building, staring up at your window. He understood now how Ambrosio must have felt for Selene in the Greek tale. He knew it was dangerous to get so close to you, but he couldn't let you go. You were his sunlight. To live without you was an agony he couldn't bear to face.

So, he stifled his impulses down even further. He made sure not to go too long in between feedings. It wouldn't be like the others with you, he swore to himself, he could control it, he had to.

But his resolve was tested when you invited him in one evening, removing the last barrier between him and you.

He tried to keep his composure, but could he barely focus, his hands refusing to submit to him, following your instruction rather than his.

"It's okay." You whispered, ghosting you lips over his.

"Don't say that." He groaned. You didn't know what you were saying, what you were promising, if he started-

"It's okay." You whispered again, tiling your head to the side, the bare expanse of your throat open to him. "I trust you."

He crumbled.

He pulled you in, close enough that your heartbeat replaced his, shivers of heat creeping up his spine, your scent clouding his mind.

"Just a taste." He breathed out against your neck, not sure if it was a promise or a plea, his fangs aching with need. Finally, sinking his teeth into soft flesh of your neck.

Everything that was you flooded his senses. He could feel your breath spread through his whole body as you sighed. Blinding light seemed to seep into every inch of his heart and mind, filling himself with you til he almost ceased to exist.

Your heart fluttered desperately, like a bird in a cage. He knew he needed to stop, he had to, but he couldn't. It was too much, he was drowning in you. He felt your hand slip from his as you fell limp in his arms.

He wrenched himself away, breathing heavily, freezing at the sight of you.

You were still and pale, your eyes closed.

No.

No, no, not again. His hands shook as he held you, panic rising in his chest. He couldn't lose you. He pressed his ear to your chest, listening closely.

For several long seconds, he could hear nothing, but then there it was. A faint flutter, barely audible, but there nonetheless. The little bird lived still.

Working quickly, he dragged his teeth across his wrist, pressing it to your lips. Just a few drops, that's all he needed. Not enough to change you, just enough to give your strength back.

For several minutes, it was unnervingly quiet, then a weak gasp as your breath returned to you.

Weak with relief, he collapsed next to you on the floor.

He would find a way to apologize to you once you woke. For now, he was content with listening to your breaths even out, thankful to the Fates for being kind enough to him to let him keep you.
