❄️🍪Winterwonderklok Day 2:
Baking Cookies🍪❄️
Mother and Daughter bonding w/ Toril & Tonje
·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙
Pools of vanilla extract filled with sugary mountains covered the tops of the counters which cornered each section of Mordhaus's kitchen, and the two Wartooth girls stood huddled around a thinned out pile of dough.
"Which one should we do next, mom?"
Tonje stared up to her mother, flour covering her cheeks, glasses, and the curls of her hair which, in a rare occasion, rested down to her shoulders instead of the high buns above her head. With a hum, Toril looked between the array of cookie cutters laid out by Jean-Pierre: A pentagram, a line-out of Facebones, as well as Toki's deady bear and a plethora of other vague references to Dethklok songs.
"How about.. This one."
Toril handed her daughter a small cutout of a 'murmaider', a mermaid which held a knife above their head. Tonje took the cutout from her mothers hands and eagerly squished it into one of the last remaining free spots of dough, wobbling the step stool she stood on slightly as the dough began spreading further across the flour ridden surface before handing her mother a small cutout not from the mix of assorted Dethklok references.
"Uhh-"
Toril stared down at the pot-leaf shaped cookie cutter, then back to her daughter only partly with motherly worry and mostly with plain curiosity.
"I wanted to make one for Pickles."
Toril snorted out a laugh, before taking and pushing the illicit cookie cutter into the dough, flour falling from her hair as she passed a glance to the preheated oven.
"You wanna put them in the oven, Tonj?"
with a small giggle Tonje ran off of her stool and to the oven, throwing it open and beginning to run back to the counter, before a palm at her forehead stopped her on her tracks. She looked up to her mother, who gave her a stern yet loving look before moving her hand to rest in her hair.
"Try not to burn yourself, okay?"
"I won't, and you're getting flour in my hair mom."
Toril chuckled to herself, and continued to ruffle her fingers through her daughters curls.
"What? Flour? You mean this stuff you've been throwing in my face for a good hour?"
Tonje laughed, the bright, exuberance of the sound filling the halls it graced with a little, though much needed, touch of Christmas cheer which somehow seemed to leak from the Wartooths like sunlight through thinly veiled curtains.
"Hey, you threw it at me too!"
"Only in defense! And you should feel yourself lucky, at least you have glasses- some sort of eye shield!"
Tonje continued her laughing fit as she slithered her way through her mothers hold and to the pan of cookies, resting herself against the counter top as the remainder of the room's laughter subsided. With a huff, Tonje grabbed the pan of dough and made her way to the, still open, oven, carefully sitting them inside whilst Toril set the timer above her. once the door closed and the timer began, Toril looked down and scooped her daughter carefully into her arms, as the two made their way to the small, spiked kitchen table. The others had left for the mall, via Toki's wishes, leaving the two girls to their own devices. Though it still felt as though they were both getting used to it, the calm domesticity provided by their first Christmas in Mordhaus seemed to be just what the pair had needed. The move into, what was essentially, a whole new way of life had been difficult for both of them, but especially for Tonje. The first month or so, until proper home schooling could be put in place, she had mostly just stayed in her new room, waiting on her mother to return from her new daily escapades with Charles and the members of the band. It had hurt Toril to see her daughter, who usually was so loud and outspoken, become such a recluse, but with time she had grown fond of her new arrangement as well as most of the people it came with. She had been especially thankful Pickles had managed to take so fondly to her, and had found how she felt of him as something of an older brother very touching. Touching enough to drunkenly cry on Toril's shoulder the night she told him.
Tonje released herself from her mothers hold, moving to sit at the table whilst the cookies baked.
"I hope uncle Toki shows up in time to help us decorate them. He seemed to be really excited about it."
Toril chuckled as she sat, looking to the snow gently falling outside the window.
"Oh he should be. I don't think Toki would wanna miss it, and I would assume the others don't wanna stay at the mall for too long."
Tonje hummed at her mothers words, then proceeded to sprawl across the table in search of the remote in search of some vague, old Christmas special to fill the void of the comfortable silence between her and her mother. The smell of the cookies continued to fill the room, as Toril turned her attention to the television and hummed along to the tune of a Christmas song she had somehow managed to learn the words to.

Roasted Marshmallows
"C'mon," Harry urged, pushing Draco through the door of a cottage that looked like it had seen better days. "It's freezing out here."
Draco allowed himself to be shoved through the door but paused the moment they were through to survey the absolute mess that had been left. "You've got to be joking." This day had gone from bad, to worse, to even worse.
"Look," Harry said as he shut the door behind him, "I know it's not ideal-"
"Not ideal?" Draco all but shrieked, he could feel his blood pressure rising, he was trying to remain calm, honestly he was. "It's horrible!" he exclaimed. "My mother's been attacked and is in Mungos as we speak, my apartment was ransacked with who knows how much damage done, it's three days from Christmas and I haven't gotten any of my shopping done, and now I'm here in this horrible little safe house until the bloody DMLE can catch whoever it is that's been trying to kill me!"
Harry winced, looking around uncertainly.
Draco deflated, "and I know none of this is your fault. I know you're trying to help me. I know you had to call in a few favors to be the auror assigned to watch me. And I appreciate that, I really do, but-"
"Listen," Harry said, his warm hands cupping Draco's shoulders, "I know the past 12 hours have been a lot. Why don't you take a bath? I brought some of that lavender bath salt that you like, I'll put on some music for you, and by the time you come out everything will be right as rain out here."
He pulled Harry in, wrapping his arms around his waist and pressing his head against Harry's neck, "Thank you."
"Don't mention it, love," he murmured, pressing a kiss to Draco's temple.
---------
When Draco emerged from the bath, feeling practically like a new person, he found that Harry hadn't been kidding. The whole cottage had been set to right, the couches had been uprighted and repaired, the floors cleaned, walls scrubbed, a fire burned merrily in the fireplace.
The smell of homemade food drifted through the cottage, something warm and hearty by the smell of it and Draco followed the scent to the kitchen where Harry was pulling something out of the oven. "Hey, you," he said over his shoulder as he set the pan on the top of the stove. "I made us a shepherds pie."
His eyes started to sting and before he could fully process what was happening, Draco was crying.
"Hey," Harry said, immediately dropping the spoon he was using to start serving their dinner. "Hey," he pulled Draco into his arms, "Don't cry." His lips brushed over Draco's forehead, "don't cry love. Everything's going to be alright."
"You made shepherd's pie."
"Sorry!" he said quickly, "I can make something else. We don't-"
Draco couldn't help it, he just started to cry harder. "Stop. It's not that I don't want to eat your shepherd's pie. I'm just," he shrugged, "I don't deserve you."
"Don't be silly," Harry said, rubbing Draco's back and directing him to a chair. In a matter of moments there was a glass of red wine in front of him along with a healthy helping of shepherd's pie. Then Harry was sitting down beside him and bumping his knee against Draco's. "Eat," he said softly.
So Draco did.
Once they finished dinner, Harry shooed Draco from the kitchen, telling him that his book was on the table by the sofa. It wasn't long before the other man also emerged from the kitchen, carrying two mugs with what Draco felt quite certain was homemade hot cocoa.
He set them down but before Draco could reach for one, Harry handed him a roasting stick and held out a bag of marshmallows. "Whoever was here last left the bag in the cupboard," he said. "I thought they might be just the thing we needed to go with our hot chocolate on a day like today."
"Thank you," Draco whispered, too overwhelmed by all of the emotions that he'd been feeling to say much else.
"Don't mention it," Harry said, bumping his shoulder against Draco's as they moved to sit in front of the fire and toast their marshmallows.
He swallowed, "I meant it, what I said earlier."
Harry raised an eyebrow uncertainly.
"I really don't deserve you."
"Darling," Harry murmured, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "You've had a terribly traumatic day. Making you some dinner and cleaning up the cottage was the absolute least I could do."
"But-"
"No, I mean it," Harry said, waving him off. "I have genuinely done the exact same thing for other people that are in the Ministry's safe houses."
"Oh," he said, brow furrowing.
"But," Harry said, wiggling his eyebrows at Draco, "What I have planned for you after hot chocolate is exclusively for you."
He couldn't help the grin that spread across his face. His day may not have started out terribly well, but it looked like it was going to end markedly better.

(Short) Snippet #1 / Prompt #6
Villain was invited to a Christmas party hosted by Supervillain, full of known criminals in the city and their henchmen.
they hadn't expected the invitation from the master criminal, obviously. especially because Supervillain certainly does not look like the type of person to host parties.
while they don't intent on showing up because they'd rather spend it alone, something had caught their attention in the invitation. It had mentioned that Hero would be there.
now here Villain was, in the party, expecting some sort of announcement and humiliating Hero in front of everyone and it strangely worried the criminal.
sure, they hated each other but they hadn't want this. if anyone has to deal with Hero, it would be them. not supervillain.
they leaned against the wall, holding their wine glass. they're worried and overthinking for their nemesis and it's ridiculous.
they glanced around the room to spot..Hero. Unrestrained, Not humiliated, Nor bruised. But they're there, talking to who it seemed like one of Other Villain's henchman.
they would know, the said henchman was their old best friend from highschool who they still kept in touch with.
the villain watched as the henchman leave, waving bye to the hero..what the fuck.
they put their wine glass down to one of the tables and approached Hero, tapping their shoulder from behind to get their attention and put on their "iconic" smile.
"my, my..what is a hero doing in a party full of criminals?"
the hero turned back and smiled sheepishly.
"hey. did..Parent not tell you i was gonna here in your letter? ah, I knew I should've insist them that i should be the one who's writing your letter."

Top five time travel movies/books! :D
See, the trouble is that while I love time travel as a concept, I haven't actually explored the genre that much. I haven't watched/read most of the time travel stories out there, sometimes because I just haven't gotten to it, other times because I'm very picky about content, other times because most of the time travel stories I run across are either "we're a bureaucratic agency dedicated to policing time travel" or "oh, no, what if we change history?" or "I fell in love with a hunky Highlander", none of which are the parts of time travel stories that interest me.
The most accurate version of this list would be a list of Doctor Who episodes (and maybe some Star Trek ones), but you specified movies and books, which is going to make this a much more difficult list to create.
The Day of the Doctor: Haha, I cheated, because Day of the Doctor was released in theaters, which makes it a movie! (So I can use it as a stand-in for all the Doctor Who episodes that are my favorite time travel stories). Thankfully, it's a fantastic time travel story and one of my favorites. It's a genius blend of both "stable timeline" and "changeable timeline" mechanics. Three different interweaving timelines. References to A Christmas Carol. Changing major events in the show's past without changing the timeline that resulted from them at all. A rejection once and for all of the "ends justify the means" mindset that had lingered over the reboot for too long. A masterpiece.
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens: It's the classic Christmas story for a reason--and one of those reasons is the time travel. Going with Scrooge across decades of his own life and watching him undergo character development from that is a great use of time travel. (And there happens to be a great Doctor Who version, too!)
Star Trek: First Contact: It's fun when you get characters traveling from the future to a different time that's also in the future. Love all the worldbuilding details of these characters interacting with their past/our fictional future, and it's a pretty good story.
Shadowhand by Anne Elisabeth Stengl: The Tales of Goldstone Wood series has a structure unlike any I've ever seen in fantasy, and this book is the reason. The first three books in the series are in chronological order. The next two books are prequels that take place like a thousand years earlier. This book, the sixth, involves characters from the later time period time-traveling to meet characters from the earlier time period, and getting swept up in a legend that they've known since childhood. I remember very little about the book beyond that, but it's such a cool concept (with an unforgettable ending moment) that I have to put it on the list.
Love Strikes Twice: It's one of the very rare Hallmark movies that's actually a decent movie by normal movie standards, so I have to give it credit. Instead of the usual boring time travel plot of "oh no, what if we change history?", we get someone who's trying to change history, who does change history, and it's a good thing. The time travel mechanics surrounding that make no sense, but who cares? It's a fun story with an engaging cast, legitimately funny jokes, a sweet romance, and a solid plot.

FIC: "Christmas Eves with You" (MLB; LBSC Secret Sprint Santa 2024)
Characters/Pairings: Luka Couffaine, Marinette Dupain-Cheng; Luka Couffaine/Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Rating: Teen and Up
Summary: It’s Christmas Eve, and all Luka and Marinette want is to spend it with each other.  That’s not too much to ask for, right?
Author’s Notes/Warnings: Happy Christmas, Giftee McGifterson @rierse!  You had some really great prompts, and I tried to work all of them into this – or at least the spirit of them.  Idk I still think I got lost somewhere.  😂  You still have one more fic coming, because this one turned into the Fluff Fest and the other is a direction I wanted to go in but got lost, so…two cakes?  😂  You can never have too much cake at Christmas.  Right?  😂
(...I should probably mention this is for the @lovebugs-and-snakecharmers Secret Sprinty Santa, shouldn't I? 😂)
“Christmas Eves with You”
It was one of those perfect winter nights, the kind you read about in good books and see in cheesy holiday movies.  It was Christmas Eve, and the city was decked out in lights and ribbons and boughs of evergreen.  Snow from a recent storm blanketed the rooftops, and heavy gray clouds covered the moon and promised more.  It was just cold enough to be freezing, but in an invigorating way.
A way that caused your blood to pump a little harder, especially when you were decked out in your super suit and racing along those snow-covered rooftops with joyful holiday abandon.
Ladybug tossed her yoyo and gave a loud whoop as she swung across the sky.  The holidays were always a tense time for Paris – emotions always ran high, and holiday akumas were an almost daily occurrence.  Tonight had been quiet so far, and she was grateful for that, but you still couldn’t be too cautious.  She had waited for her parents to fall asleep before taking to the streets for one last patrol.
So far all had been quiet, and she was maybe letting herself enjoy that.  Just a little bit.

Imagine your otp going for fun mall outing buying the things they want and or need. When they pass by a cute store with maybe cute little surprise box figurines or plushes.
Causing Person A to stop in their tracks. Their partner notices this and insists on buying them one. Which Person A tells them about how they wanted to buying Person B one as well. After coming to an agreement they buy each other one.
Keeping and treasuring the gift they got the other.
Bonus if it’s a couple pair.

I am attempting to revive my old tradition of writing twelve stories for my beta reader for Christmas this year!
Unfortunately, my current list of ideas for her is at . . . four. Ish.
The result is that my inbox is now open for prompts; I can't promise I'll write all of them, but I will write as many as I can!

For the Christmas Ficlet ask game......RebelCaptain picking out a tree!
Fun prompt!!
“Can I help you two at all?”
At the sound of the employee’s voice, Jyn spun around and directed a brilliant, if fake, smile toward him. “Oh, thank you,” she said, slipping an arm through Cassian’s. She felt him stiffen, but only for a heartbeat before relaxing. “My husband and I are just browsing for now, but we’ll let you know.”
The employee smiled. “Of course. Just let us know!”
As he turned and disappeared around one of the trees set up in the chilly barn, Cassian bent his head next to Jyn’s. “How long before the contact shows up?” he asked quietly. “I don’t know how long we’re going to be able to stand here and not buy a tree.”
“He should be here soon,” Jyn responded. “But you’re right. Let’s go pretend to look at ornaments.”
“Good plan.”
It would have been decidedly strange, Jyn thought as they headed to the warmer building that held the gift shop, pretending to be anyone else’s wife. Not Cassian, though. He was a natural spy and a good friend, and they worked together so well that no one had questioned it.
If anyone was likely to mess it up, it was her, and that was why Jyn didn’t release her hold on Cassian’s arm as they strolled through the gift shop, examining the ornaments and pretending to choose. No other reason.

childhood besties to lovers is one of my fav tropes but to me the best way to do it is: they were besties from 3 to 20 then went their separate ways, lost all contact and never saw each other again for 10 years or so. then they have to meet in some sort of family reunion idk and they both remember each other as teens and dont expect theyre actually 30 and very hot now
