I genuinely love how if Sanji awakens conquerors haki, that it's gonna be like... a plot point. made obvious. but Zoro used his on punk hazard and then again in dressrosa and it's never even focused on and tbh I think it went over a lot of fans heads too, and then he uses it on onigashima and kaido acknowledges it out loud and zoros like idk wtf u mean and that's as much as we get. I love how Zoro is written like that. like you really gotta watch him or else all his development and progress and individuality etc goes straight over your head. Zoro observes everyone and he's so emotionally intelligent and so aware of changes in ppl... you gotta be like that too, to rlly see Zoro.

Can I just say I kind of feel sorry for the writers because you can tell they conceived the show as revolving around Haladriel and they really don’t want to deal with the Celeborn issue so they play lip service while writing something completely different lol.

To be fair though Tolkien himself wasn’t interested in him or him and Galadriel as a pairing especially when you compare how he writes his epic romances. It really feels like he was put there so we can get Arwen pretty much. And then she leaves without him to Valinor while he’s left mourning her which 🤣.

But yeah as far as the show goes if they didn’t want fans to see Haladriel as romantic they would have shown her grieving Celeborn…instead of falling in love with her arch enemy. This is just my opinion though but you can’t say how much she loves and grieves Celeborn while showing the complete opposite on the show. There was a way to center the relationship between her and Sauron without it being framed as romantic/soulmates but they didn’t which tells you everything you need to know.

even before trop, it has been believed that the only reason tolkien wrote celeb0rn was to somehow connect galadriel to arwen and elrond.

the initial plan was for gal to marry elrond, but tolkien wanted galadriel to be the leader in her own right (it is her main defining trait) and keep doing her own thing. he did not want her to be defined by her husband/child. if she was married to elrond, she would be known as elrond's wife/arwen's mother first. so he gave her a npc family in the background instead.

but even then, i'd say her relationship with elrond is still more important in the books. and in the movies, she even seems closer to gandalf, lmao. so i'd say it would be better to focus on her relationship with elrond and establish her friendship with gandalf rather than introduce a new love interest (bc yeah, even if it's not explicitly romantic, haladriel is romantically framed).

btw, don't even get me started about how everyone seems to forget about finrod??? the one galadriel misses, the real "third" between her and sauron, her "guiding light" IS FINROD! nenya symbolizes galadriel's desire for power = sauron and galadriel's light/wisdom she got from finrod! nenya was made by sauron's design and using finrod's dagger! it's like sauron and finrod's battle continues within galadriel.

i don't dislike celeb0rn, but i think it's crazy that he was created so that galadriel can't be reduced to the domestic role and yet certain segments of the fandom do that anyways - reduce her to being her npc family's wife/mother in the show that intends to explore other aspects of her story and identity!

and idk man, but i feel like tolkien must have had some ideas for sauron and galadriel. "he gropes ever to see me and my thought" feels very significant. and they mirror each other in several ways as well.

trop does a fantastic job at giving this dynamic context. galadriel's greatest desire is to possess power, sauron's greatest desire is to posses the light. it makes sense for them to have a push-pull dynamic that's both intimate and cosmic in its' essence. the perfect way to expand on all the little details connecting sauron and galadriel in the lore. and it's just a fascinating story on its' own!

it would be such a waste to discard this dynamic for the sake of introducing the character that was never supposed to be that important. especially considering that the writers seem to have the show conceived with haladriel as its' core in their minds.

i saw this art on the hellsite that was a really good idea and so well designed. it was the seven deadly sinse with ER characters. more specifically, demigods, except...

Fia was lust. and i was weirdly bummed out by that. i dont think she represents lust at all, and it was very random to have her be the 1 non-demigod in the group. the sex she has is not coming from a place of lust, it comes from a place of subservience and duty. its the opposite of lust, it's perfunctory. i hate this word bc of how the internet has made it near meaningless, but, it comes from a place of being groomed and conditioned, forced into a role she never asked for and was born into. so it felt like both a misapplication and a missed opportunity, because there IS a demigod who DOES represent lust quite well and his name is mohg.

mohg actively lusts after miquella, desiring to become his consort and offering his own blood to him, stealing and coveting him. he's so blind with his desire for miquella, he sooner seems to think we are there for MIQUELLA than his great rune! ("miquella is mine and mine alone" on player kill). He lusts after a reality where he is beloved and can share his maladjusted brand of love with others. he takes without consent, repeatedly, not just miquella but his war surgeons, and maybe even his bloody fingers(do they know theyre going to be driven mad by the cessblood when they take it? it's not like varre gives us any warnings about how it might affect us). the lack of love in mohg's life has so clearly affected how he expresses it himself. he's known SO much pain that when a mother who comes to him acknowledging that pain and telling him the suffering is not pointless but is in fact the key to truth and love, both things mohg has been denied all his life, of course he takes to it. of course he agrees and wants to share that 'love' with others, and wants them to 'love' him back.

mohg's lust is in turns twisted and tragic and pitiable and hideous, so it's very compelling compared to anything you could use to connect fia with lust. OTHERS may lust after fia, but she doesn't use that as a weapon. she presents herself as someone for others to trust and confide in, and doesn't use sex to do that, but her words and praise. the only one SHE comes anywhere near lusting for is godwyn. but she doesn't lust for him, she CARES for him. she wants to help him, but her tools are limited and so she uses the ones she has, the ones she has been raised with, taking the role she was assigned against her will and reshaping it into something she finds fulfilling. it isn't lust that drives her to godwyn, it's a desire for freedom, for self-determination, and it's care for others who have been similarly outcast by the world the same way she has by her own country.

I've seen both Mufasa 2024 and HB several times having their writing and plots compared to "fanfiction" and obviously it's an insult and people never go any deeper than that but I'm tired of accepting that fanfic-y plots aren't hella cool sometimes and that it's all the same bc it's really not and also man it's really not that deep in the end oh my God

Bc you know what. We write/read fanfiction bc we want silly guilty pleasures that we rarely see in "professional" writing and we want to see those cool tropes happening. But then when those tropes do happen people complain that it isn't professional enough??? So what the fuck do you want then

Like Loona having a demon feral wolf form is PEAK deviantart 2012 furry fanfic headcannon but also. That's so fucking cool man. I love her. People ask oh why does she have a demon form but man why should she NOT. Yeah you'd see it in fanfics but isnt that bc we want it. It's in character and in universe and it's cool and I love it bc it's so random but it doesn't destroy the universe and it's COOL it really doesn't go deeper than that man

Meanwhile Mufasa writing is fanfic-y in the way that it has a lot of tropes that you see in TLK fanfiction (white lions, made up lion biology, etc) but it's also BAD bc it's sooo badly connected and the pacing is terrible but also they don't even DO anything cool with it. It doesn't do anything new or exciting with the wacky ideas they decide to use. It doesn't do anything cool with white lions. It doesn't do anything cool with Mufasa being adopted. All comes and goes and leaves no impact.

It'd be the same if they'd randomly introduced Loona's wolf form while she was on the phone or smth. Literally nobody would find that cool the way we are now bc it's hella cool THE WAY they did it

Like fanfics can be bad or good and that's fine bc the only reason they exist is to be self-serving and I give them all the right to be as dumb and as badly written as they deserve and for some people it's just stress relief and some people are literally 11yos having fun. Do whatever you want

But when you have some kind of production then yeah, we expect some level of quality. I just don't think that being "fanfiction level / fanfic-y" is inherently bad you know. It's about how you use it

Both Loona being a feral demon and the whole Mufasa movie have a lot of fanfic tropes but one of them used it in cool ways and the other used it in dumb ways but the tropes themselves aren't the problem you know

I just don't think that fanfic tropes are inherently bad and I'm tired of acting as if they are. Fuck I love THE LION GUARD over Mufasa because The lion guard actually does cool stuff with whatever they did and embraced it being as insane as it is while Mufasa just threw random stuff and didn't do anything with the tropes they used. I would be SO INTO Mufasa having white lions and ghosts and magic and fights and lion monarchies if they bothered to do anything cool with it.

bestie what are we thinking about episode 1 I'm still speechless.

I don't wanna say too much because so much happened but at the same time you can tell the actual story hasn't started so I feel like the current vibe will not be representative for the rest of the show lol.

But so far my favorite thing is the characters because even though there's already a bunch of ppl saying the acting is mid and Dunk is dragging everyone down or whatever, I have nothing to complain about. I feel like I got to know the 4 of them in this episode and the performances were convincing to me. Like yes, FK are leading the acting game and Dunk comes in last but he has improved compared to previous roles and from what I can tell, he is giving Style the necessary characteristics. He is a campy character and I saw a lot of people saying he matches the novel. So I'm not mad. not yet anyway. Joong as Fadel is crazy if you ask me, his screen presence is insane here. 10/10 would avoid him in the streets lmao. Bison is an interesting little guy lol I can tell he's a complex character which I love and Kant is just I mean 🧎🏼‍♀️🧎🏼‍♀️🧎🏼‍♀️ I really get Khao bc I, too, am absolutely obsessed with him lol. Maybe it's my Fir bias, maybe it's the Yok vibes I don't know but I'm on my knees. I can see what people were pointing out about his personality being very tied to Bison in the novel but so far it doesn't bother me at all. First brings him to life and gives him charisma and I'm buying every bit of his performance.

The story is very much unserious but we all knew that going in so I surely won't waste my time analyzing anything too closely lol. The crime plot is definitely not fleshed out and I'm sensing some NLMG vibes in the storytelling but as long as we don't take it seriously, it's all good. It is a comedy without trying to be one, which is a good sign. I didn't expect KantBison to jump right into the heat but seeing how their and FadelStyle's relationships will develop into opposite directions, I think it all made sense. They put a good 80% of the trailer into the episode which I was kind of expecting as they did the same with OF but like I said, the core story hasn't really started so let's see how it goes. They overdid it a bit with the music sadly, not every scene needs a rock song blasting in the background lol. I did like the song choices but it was a bit distracting at times, especially when there's an obvious transition within a single scene.

But besides that I had a good time and I'm mostly glad that the actual vibe is completely different from the pilot trailer which I didn't like at all. I see no connection to that trailer besides the story and I'm very happy about that. I'm happy with the overall energy and the characters and I'm looking forward to seeing everything unfold, as well as meeting the other characters!!

Una and Christine are the MOST UNDERRATED dynamic. Genuinely I need to see them interact more. I've said before I don't think that T'pring is Christine's character mirror foil or whatever bc she isn't really. Una is the opposite of Christine.

Una is so put together. She is the literal poster person of first officers. She is always put together and just radiates dignity. (Somehow she gives like. Teacher vibes but I can't see her teaching a specific subject?? Maybe she just authority-s so hard I'm getting confused idk) She has been trying to be the picture perfect officer for years. She said it her self, she worries how people would see her (as an illiyern(fuck spelling I'm tired)) if she wasn't Ms. "She's beauty she's grace she's gonna punch you in the face" Because she hasn't ever had the chance to exist in starfleet without that threat of being discovered, she holds her self to this impossible standard that she some how achieves. Outside of that, she is a silly little workaholic who loves her job a little too much at times. (I mean. Tbf it's STARFLEET I'd also love it)

Compare that polished, put together-Ness of a first officer to someone who didn't even technically join starfleet, Chrsitine is part of an exchange program. (I'm only considering snw, sorry) Christine is bouncy and open as soon as we meet her, she sasses back at La'an and jokingly flirts with spock. She has the worst bedside manner and loves to chase people down hallways. Her reaction to Una bring Illiriyan was basically "I'm not a cop, I'm cool with it" She radiates weird girl in the best way possible. We see her be messy in relationships and goof off here and there. (Can you tell I hyperfixate on her all the time?) Uhura is "unburdened by conversational boundaries" and will say things on accident, Christine will say the weird thing and she will say it with her chest.

Christine is so unabashedly herself while Una is always on duty as the first officer, so professional. Una ties a lot of herself to her job and Christine loves science to the point she will chase it to other planets, she isn't tied to the ship.

There is so much space for tension and conflict between them. I can see Christine making a joke during a hard time and Una snaps. Maybe Una makes a tough call command wise that Christine disagrees with because they could've done something, the head vs the heart. They would also make an excellent team, Una with her tactical experience while Christine has science and leaps of faith.

You know those videos where the magnets are on a track and they collide really hard and the thing in the middle gets fucked up? That's what I want with them. I know im seeing the shrimp dynamics but I swear something there is worth exploring I SWEAR

been thinking abt isra and iskandar since u answered that ask game... u said isra is dead in iskandar's solo pt - is he also dead in hers? is there a timeline where theyre both alive during inquisition? would they get to meet then? how do both of them feel/interact with the three mage companions? what do they think about the cure for tranquility reveal? if u wouldn't mind talking about them :>

iskandar is alive in isra's playthrough!!! he doesn't show up in her solo run bc it's essential to my portrayal and everyone's understanding of both characters that her story works fine without him but his revolves around her, but he does in my apotheosis verse stuff and they DO meet then, probably under the worst circumstances ever - my current working plot involves him being brought in to deal with her being a rebellious figurehead (since she escapes the inquisition in the hinterlands, so she also has to be recaptured), though this might change in shape of form, again! it's ESSENTIAL that they're brought in on opposite ends - the "villain" isra as the people's herald and the "hero" iskandar as the inquisition's ideal inquisitor.

isra and iskandar separately both know dorian fairly well - their father does business in tevinter, so keeping up to date with their 'vint relatives is sort of a big thing, so isra remembers dorian from even before the circle. iskandar does too, but more reluctantly - there are so many reasons why, as the eldest son, he'd rather join the templars than stay at home and be heir lmao. i think it's hard for dorian to really grapple with what isra went through and experienced in the circle, or why she's so aggressively anti-circle and anti-chantry, because his own experiences are simply not comparable - he thinks of his harrowing fondly, speaks of his experiences fondly, and doesn't quite grasp the idea of the circles in southern thedas. iirc isra and dorian have a huge row about it in haven when he says that giving the mages their freedom is dangerous - "what's next? give the elves halamshiral?" and she's like "why not? it was theirs in the first place" and his entire spiel about the south becoming like the north makes her lose it. comparatively, i think iskandar keeps his distance - in his solo pt, i can't even remember if i recruited dorian or if it made more sense NOT to? but anyway, i think dorian's personal arc was made in a lab just to psychologically torture iskandar who a) has similar issues with his family (being ace/aro as the eldest son expected to carry on the family line) and b) would also have potentially resorted to anything to keep isra from being what she is (a mage) (the allegories are allegory-ing...).

ive talked a bit abt solas and iskandar before, so i guess i'll talk a bit abt isra and solas. i did design them as character mirrors, so i do think he sees a lot of himself in her, but then tends to ascribe his own flaws to her without wanting to admit they're his flaws in the first place, which creates a bit of friction. isra is also human-passing except for the very tips of her ears and her thin tapeta lucidum, so i think solas especially is very distant with her at first, despite her own sort of... like. in the inquisition, solas' values align far more closely to hers, and with the both of them now being apostates (isra's been one since before the events of asunder), she's more comfortable and willing to be around solas than most of the other party members. it's not mutual at all, and i think his distance is quite bewildering to her. but he does grow to like her, i think!!! i've blogged a bit about them before here.

i was talking to harker ages ago about this but genuinely iskandar should be hit with fucking hammers for how he behaves about vivienne. the first enchanter at markham basically quivers whenever iskandar's name is so much as mentioned, and actively avoids being in situations where he might need to talk to iskandar at all. and again, iskandar is... i don't think strict quite covers it. cullen talks a bit about vivienne like asking him to do things or giving suggestions etc and i was literally thinking about how iskandar would respond to that and the answer was: interpersonal violence. canon-typical violence, i might remind, which includes silencing, smiting, and (in the comics iirc) hitting. he is a very canon-typical templar, is dangerous in his zealotry, and has little patience for ambitious mages that may or may not remind him of his sister.

isra and vivienne disagree on how to deal with the circles and the templars and the chantry, and i think isra sort of... idk how to explain it, but i think she sort of feels bad for vivienne for never having any other option. isra was doing something similar because she thought she could change things from inside the system. and they both realise it's a broken system, but because isra had the option to walk away when her circle fell and try something different, they're both on different paths - and vivienne's given too much of herself, her life, her years to this path to go back. so she gets that, but still, ultimately, their final goals are different enough that it matters. isra feels a lot of personal sympathy for her, and appreciates her support, but there's a distance there that isn't really breached until after bastien passes.

re: tranquility cure reveal. i know they both deal with that badly, for differing reasons, and it puts them BOTH into conflict with cassandra. i think iskandar deals with it badly not because of the mages but specifically the reveal that seekers are just regular people made tranquil. that their abilities are not divine gifts from the maker that somehow proves they're Worthy and Correct and Righteous but something that any templar worth their salt could have tried, with enough training. only, that kind of training takes years. and why invest in that when you can just feed them lyrium and leash them at the same time with it. at this point iskandar is already ~40-44, lyrium withdrawal feels impossible for him bc he's not as young as cullen is. he doesn't think he'll be able to survive it, so he's squared himself with the knowledge he'll likely succumb to it at some point. but to know it was all fucking pointless, that there was another way, that the only reason he ended up this way was because someone, somewhere, thought he was disposable... it doesn't sit well with him, especially when cassandra's whole lament is that they were lied to. like you think YOU were lied to? what negative consequence do YOU have to live with, of that lie? are YOU the one who's going to die of lyrium addiction?

on the other hand, i think isra and cassandra's ideological conflicts really come to a head here and this is the exact point that cements the decision for isra to oppose cassandra's bid for the next divine as much as she can. she can't get concrete answers from cassandra about the cure to tranquility - there's no timeline, not even an inclination to pursue it, all with the excuse that "we still dont know enough". i dont think isra keeps that information to herself, and she's personally invested in the cure a) to return the lives of everyone who had it robbed by the rite and b) to wrest it away as a form of control over the mages from the chantry. and cassandra's insistence on not doing anything with it is the greatest sign to isra that cassandra has no intention of not using the rite against mages. so at the end of the day, cassandra can say whatever pretty things she likes, but for isra, this is such a key moment that means she can never support cassandra as the divine.

how do u like get into da2 bc ive only finished it twice (compared to my 7 complete origins playthrus) and its just so like unsatisfying to me like roleplay wise. it just feels so hard to build a character and a unique story which sucks bc i like some parts of the game!! its just hard to get thru the everything else about it

at some point i’m not going to be the best person to answer this because i have the opposite problem but !! i did have an initial playthrough of da2 that is like. nothing to me bc it was so generic so i guess i did develop from that point

i think using the “colour system” of personality to its fullest really helps. especially having a “secondary colour” to use for flavour or in certain situations? if you’re struggling with your character feeling unique from other people’s characters, i would recommend avoiding primarily purple to begin with... as fun as it is, it’s kind of considered default for hawke. not to push my own agenda but for example, trying out a primarily red hawke can really refresh the game without losing entertainment value. and a blueish red and purplish red are really different, and where you use that blue or purple really alters things. and i would recommend rivalling at least one companion... let your hawke have some opinions instead of just being blank slate to win everyone over

idk da2 is the kind of developing a character i love so it’s hard for me to explain the appeal. it gives you a set of really specific circumstances and you get to decide what kind of a person those circumstances create. here are some of the major questions that distinguish one of my hawkes from another:

how do they feel about the magic in their family? do they value it or resent its dangers?

how do they feel about being the eldest sibling, pushed into protecting and leading the family? did they accept that? does the pressure weigh? how does that affect their memory of their father and their relationship with leandra?

does their father have elven heritage, or heritage from another part of thedas? how does that affect their experiences in and out of their home? do they want to engage with or ignore that part of themselves?

what did they do before the game starts? where did they get and practice their skillset?

what makes them choose the spells and abilities they use? what specialisation do they take and why? who taught it to them?

do they care about their appearance? do they care about conforming to gender norms? how do they want to look and why? do they achieve it?

do they wish they could return to ferelden, or is kirkwall their home?

are they just doing all this to protect their family and stay out of the templars’ reach, or are they ambitious? do they want money? power? the luxuries of hightown? the ability to really change things? the status their mother told stories about? do those priorities change?

what are afraid of? how do the dangers they face every day affect them? which quests linger in their memory? how do those traumas affect their decision making?

have they ever been in love before? what are they looking for in a romantic partner? is the person they fall for what they would’ve gone for, or a surprise? what is it about their romance that made them fall for them? do they hold their parents’ romance as a perfect fairytale ideal or a fate to avoid?

maybe you can’t do anything you like with a hawke, but get a few unique ideas and a cohesive and interesting enough combination of the yes/no questions, or pick an answer to one of these questions that really grabs you and take that as far as you can to its natural extreme as the centre point of their character, and you can really do a lot

(and don’t be afraid to let them have answers to the above questions that you disagree them/that are morally imperfect!!!)

Compare all main characters first chapter to Jason and you can tell he bland like white bread. Jason lacks the popularity of Percy cause if Percy was dead expect a riot plus we already had a better Zeus contrast with Thalia. Apollo is the more interesting character and Apollo son is a better contrast to Nico. 1/ milking the franchise (which is understandable. Capitalism you know bla bla bla)

2/ giving a half-heartedly made closure to the fandom’s favorite (which is sort of fanservice? Idk)

3/ and along with it solidifying the foundation of his gay love story, which didn’t have the… err prettiest start? (which I reckon accounts for a lot of the franchise’s popularity).

And yeah it’s easy to see that Nico being gay is a late decision with how Rick worked it out lmao.

So this an edit for my combat child au. Basically I asked myself how many Pokémon protagonists could I squish into each other and ended up with Combat Child (Leaf, Lyra, Rosa, Gloria, Juliana), Ethan (who is also Cheren, Lucas, Elio, Calem), Hero (Hilbert, Trace, Victor, Florian), Moon (Selene, May, Serena), and then Dawn is just Akari. She’s the most normal. Other protagonists also are important like Hilda, Nate, Elaine, Chase and Kris. Rip to Brendan ig.

The basics of Combat Child is that she grew up in a simulation, woke up in the future but to her that was her present, then got dumped by Celebi into the past and realised she aged way slower than other humans. She was ten for one hundred years but she was still physically and mentally ten so she was running around committing crimes and beating up people twice her size as Combat Child. Then she ran into Ethan who through shenanigans got her to age normally and from there she ends up having to come to terms with mortality and finally having to grow up.

Another part is the protagonists with multiple names all have time/space powers. Combat’s is she can slow down time, Ethan’s is he can rewind time like reloading a video game, Hero’s is he can speed time up which he mostly uses to give himself super speed, Dawn’s is she can travel through time and space so when she met the pearl and diamond clans she had a hard time choosing between them, Moon’s is she can manipulate space but specifically only her and the other timey-wimey kids aka she can shapeshift and then there is one more timey-wimey kid but they’re a secret for now.

To sum up their personalities in a few words:

⭐️ Combat is a freak gremlin child who’s favourite hobbies are martial arts, vigilantism, helping other kids and fighting rich guys. Her main motivation in life is running from all her problems and destroying anyone who reminds her of Lysandre.

⭐️ Ethan is a child of divorce with severe identity issues who goes to literally space and back for his friends. He’s one of the more responsible ones of the group but just bc he’s normal compared to them, doesn’t mean he’s actually normal. He became a teacher when he was 14, a lab assistant when he was 15 and then an Interpol agent when he was 16. Him and Combat are ride or die for each other but also disagree a lot as I’m sure you could guess.

⭐️ Hero was dumped from the past into the present so he’s the opposite of Combat. Unlike Combat who gave up on getting back to the future, Hero desperately wants to go home. He’s fairly chill and likes to go with the flow but since all his friends’ flows are nuts, he ends up acting nuts too. To be fair tho, before he met any of them he fought eternatus on the original darkest day so it’s not like he’s not reckless too. For the most part he’s content to do whatever Combat’s up to whenever he isn’t looking for a way home. He likes pranks and mischief but equally enjoys slacking off. His favourite hobby tho is cooking/baking. Which is great bc the other two people he lives with are Combat who cooks like Yor from Spy x family and Watcher (Looker’s sister I made up) who only eats healthy. If she could survive purely off of protein powder and kale she would.

⭐️ Moon is chaotic too but her brand of chaos is different to Combat’s. She’s known about her powers all her life and mostly uses them to run off and explore as much as she can. She loves to prank people with her powers but most of all loves exploring and Pokémon. She’s a dare devil and going to ultra space which was basically a dream come true for her. The main thing that sets her apart from Combat is that whilst Combat has absolute blind confidence in herself for the most part and it takes a lot for her to realise she was wrong, Moon’s a bit insecure. She likes to play characters instead of herself because she’s scared that when she isn’t performing she’s boring or annoying.

⭐️ Dawn was a normal girl, living a normal life until she became champion of the Sinnoh region. Then Arceus dropped her into the past to go fix things and she’s forced to learn her powers and save the world… again. She’s more of a reluctant hero than the others. If the worlds in danger, of course she’s going to save it. She’s a good person. She’s just more likely to complain about constantly having to save the world. Like in a Percy Jackson way. Her main motivation is she wants to live a normal life however, she can’t live a normal life if the world’ destroyed so she’ll do what she has to to be a normal girl who just so happens to be a contest star, the Sinnoh champion and Arceus’ chosen.

I decided to try this with a few original characters I made for a story I’m currently working on. So, the characters are mine, but this amazing idea is all this anonymous sender! 

It was so silent they not only heard it, but felt it. 

The dark of the closet was cut only by the thine stream of light the crooked door frame provided. Leo thought his heart would beat right out of his chest, but he still resisted the urge to gulp in breaths like his panic so desperately wanted him to. 

How had they not seen? In retrospect it was oh so obvious. Everyone Leo had ever become close to, everyone who he had expressed even the slightest interest in romantically ended up dead or severely injured. It was a nightmare in the truest sense. But, the “accidents” had always seemed just that. Just accidents. 

God, he should have listened to Joshua when he warned him. If Leo had only just listened and not been so damn trusting they wouldn’t be in this situation right now. What was wrong with him anyway? Why did Leo feel the need to be liked by everyone all the time?! He was charismatic, outgoing, an insatiable flirt, and he always connected with whomever he was with. He was extremely well liked. Too liked. 

He had never meant for someone to like him that much. He had never wanted someone to become obsessed. 

Why couldn’t he be more like Joshua? Joshua who had the scariest resting bitch face. Joshua who rarely laughed unless it was with his family or Leo. Joshua who was known not only to make suspects wet themselves, but his own teammates as well. Joshua, who despite being the complete opposite of Leo, was Leo’s closest friend. Leo’s best friend. 

Joshua, who was with Leo now in this shitty broom closet at the shitty air Bnb with a shitty stalker looking for them. 

Leo’s nervousness must have become noticeable as he felt Joshua take a deep breath behind him and place his hand on Leo’s forehead in comfort. The breath was deep, yet silent, a testament to Joshua’s years of training and line of work. Leo felt a pang of envy at his friend’s stoicness. He could feel Joshua’s heart beat between his shoulder blades as his back was uncomfortably pressed against Joshua’s chest. A position they got into when Joshua heard Eddie coming and swiftly grabbed Leo and pulled him into the broom cupboard. 

Strong, steady, and calm. How did Joshua do that when Leo knew for a fact that his best friend was just as freaked out as he was? 

Maybe Joshua could teach him after all this was over. 

If they got out of here that is. 

If they did, they might be the only ones. Eddie had done an excellent job of picking off their merry little group one by one. No phones, no help, just them and the slasher. When Eddie had suggested they take a little vacation it had seemed so fun at the time. Get their group together and rent a cabin, take some time off from their various jobs, plan what the New Years party was going to be…God, Leo should have known! 

There’s a difference between a personal assistant knowing things about you, and them knowing everything about you. But Leo had never had an assistant before Eddie, he didn’t know that Eddie was too attentive compared to the normal kind. 

“We’ll wait him out, then look for the others,” Joshua whispered. It was so quiet that Leo was sure he wouldn’t have heard it except for Joshua’s face against his ear. 

But what would they find? Already three were dead, perhaps more. Bobby, Jared, and…and…Karen. She had been the worst of them. And why? Just because Leo dared to take a girlfriend? 

He couldn’t help a tear trailing down his face as his empathy went overboard. How scared they must have been. How betrayed. 

Joshua must have noticed, because his arm around Leo tightened and his face pressed closer to his ear. 

“It’s going to be okay. We’ll get through this. We always do,” he whispered again. Leo only nodded slightly, not trusting his broken voice to be quiet enough to respond. 

Joshua seemed like he was about to whisper something else when he abruptly stopped. It took Leo a second to realize why. There in the kitchen, just feet from them, there was movement, the sound of the kitchen door closing and locking. Shuffled footsteps and a scraping sound. 

What was that scraping sound? 

Oh god, it was a butcher’s knife. A butcher’s knife being drawn against walls and cabinets as the holder walked by. 

Eddie was in the room! 

Both Leo and Joshua stopped breathing as they listened. 

“Leo” came the smooth sing-song voice. “I know you’re in here.”

Leo stiffened, but Joshua held fast so no sound was made. 

“Come on man,” Eddie continued. “I know how it seems now, but that’s just because you’ve always been surrounded by poisonous people. Once it’s just you and me you’ll understand. Don’t worry, I’ll teach you… And you’ll enjoy it.” 

Now it was Joshua who stiffened. His grip on Leo started to shake and Leo knew it wasn’t in fear. 

Joshua was pissed. Scratched that, Leo felt the heat radiating off Joshua’s face, he was furious.

The scraping stopped just in front of the broom cupboard. 

“Oh, well that’s just too cute. Hiding with the brooms?” 

Before Eddie could open the door, Joshua’s leg shot out from beside Leo and kicked the door with enough force to splinter the wood. 

Eddie must have been close as he was shot back by the power of it and was sent tumbling into the stove. 

Joshua wasted no time in practically picking up Leo and pushing them both from the cupboard, then immediately positioning Leo away from Eddie. 

Eddie was a terrible sight. Covered in blood which was not his own, clutching the offending knife in a slick grip, while ginning uncontrollably in a way that Leo thought was only possible for bad actors in horror films. 

��Joshua!” Eddie greeted spreading his arms out in a welcoming manner. “I should have known you’d be with him. Always together you two aren't cha?” 

Leo glared at Eddie as Joshua positioned himself in a defensive stance. 

“Why Eddie?” Leo asked, hoping to take the attention away from Joshua. It was easy, Eddie immediately gave Leo his unwavering gaze. 

“Why what my dear?” Eddie asked. 

Leo shuddered at the endearment. Something he himself had called Karen not twelve hours ago. 

“Why do this? Any of this? Wasn’t I a good boss? Did I do something wrong? Lead you on in some way? What did anyone else do to deserve this?” Leo kept his focus on Eddie, hoping Joshua had some sort of plan. 

“No, no, no, no, no!” Eddie actually looked concerned. “You’ve done nothing wrong! You could never do anything wrong. You just don’t know how to take care of yourself. But that’s okay! Because I do! I was made for you! I was made to take care of you! Every sunshine needs a sky to hold it. I’m your sky!” 

Leo paled more if it were possible. Eddie was…Eddie was…fuck, how did someone get this crazy? 

“Eddie, that doesn’t make sense. You don’t need to take care of me! You’re my assistant, not my mother!” 

Eddie laughed, actually laughed. “Not your mother! Your everything! Just as you’re my everything. I know all there is to know about you. No one else could care more than I do.” 

“And this is how you care?” Joshua spat. Eddie tilted his head towards him. “Look at him Eddie! He’s terrified! Is this how you want him to feel if you care so much?” 

And Eddie did look back at Leo. He looked right into Leo’s terrified eyes and seemed to see them for the first time. 

“Leo,” he whispered. “Are you scared of me?” 

Leo nodded, his whole body shaking. “Yes,” he whispered. 

Eddie lowered the knife to his side and stretched out his hand while walking towards Leo, as if to touch his face and comfort him like in some kind of sick romcom. 

Just as Joshua knew he would. 

The moment the knife was lowered, Eddie made it only a step towards Leo before Joshua was on him and the fight began. 

It was like a convoluted and vile dance. One that Leo wanted to join in and help Joshua, but couldn’t see when or where. He wasn’t trained like Joshua, he only knew the few basic self defense moves Joshua taught him over the years. 

There was no yelling or talking, just pained grunts and rage filled battle curses. 

It seemed to last a lifetime. 

Then, there it was, an opening! 

Joshua kicked the knife from Eddie’s hands and slashed at him with their car keys to the car Eddie had cut the wires on this morning. 

Eddie slid across the tile floor on his back and before he could get up and go for Joshua again, Leo hit him as hard as he could with a frying pan. It had been hanging over the oven and Leo grabbed it the moment Eddie’s eyes were off him. 

Eddie only had a second to look straight into Leo’s eyes with incomprehension before flopping on the floor limp. 

“Oh my god,” Leo shook as he stood still holding the frying pan. He couldn’t seem to move. 

“Leo,” Joshua limped over to him. He placed a bloody hand on Leo’s white knuckled grip. 

“He was going to kill you…I couldn’t…Oh my god…did I kill him?” 

Joshua knelt down and felt for a pulse. 

“He’s alive.” He stated. Barely, he didn’t tell Leo. 

Leo saw the amount of blood on Joshua. 

“Oh shit, Josh are you…where did he get you?” Leo dropped the pan and went to look over Joshua, hands hovering not knowing what to do. 

Joshua only half smiled and took both of Leo’s hands in his. “Nothing serious. He was too distracted by you. I took the advantage.” 

Leo pulled Joshua into a fierce hug. “Oh, thank god. Thank god, thank god, thank god.” 

They tied Eddie up, searched for their friends, finally found a hidden phone to call for help, and Leo couldn’t help to continue to hear Joshua’s words from the broom cupboard. We’ll get through this. We always do. And they always will.

One of your villainos posts is getting trashed

It's just what you expect when it comes to saying anything negative about Villainous and Alan Ituriel. Although, I find it funny that it's not the first time I've said Heed and Dem are overly sexualized, especially in that drawing of the two in playboy bunny costumes, but oh no! This time I really messed up, even tho that anon brought it up and not me x3

Also, the way they're saying all "Oh Dem and Heed are underdeveloped but what about Millie????". So, like....yall admit to the characters being underdeveloped....but then use it as a "gotcha" moment? And, no, Millie isn't underdeveloped.

She has strong ties with her family, even tho her own family jokes about her freelance job and clearly has a rivalry with her Sallie May. She's very protective over Moxxie to the point where she "sees red" when he's in trouble. Heck, Millie actually seemed to have worked on that, since she used her anger in Exes and Ooohs to give her an advantage than letting it blind her. She's easily excitable and tends to be more optimistic, while Moxxie is very logical and somewhat cynical.

Millie has even spoke up on Blitzo being too into their personal lives, but she deals with it. Again, opposite of Moxxie. Millie also can easily see through other's bullshit after Harvest Moon, since she didn't care for those con artists and Seeing Stars, while also pissed at how Mox did fall for it. She even seems to have a problem with Loona, since she just calls her "hellhound" and views her as nothing more. She's very caring and loving of her coworkers when push comes to shove.

Meanwhile, what do Demencia and Heed have that isn't already obvious? Wow. Demencia is insane and loves BH. She's not intelligent any longer bc, according to Alan, her guessing the answer to Flug's equation was played for laughs. Also, Flug made her. Wow. What a shock. You really fooled me with the blueprints he has in his lab...and the fact that Alan has already said that he made her in the livestreams lol I mean, hell, Demencia doesn't even remember nor care about her past. So, why should I?

Now, Heed does have a ton more development compared to Demencia, but that isn't saying much. She still mainly is there to lift Goldheart rather than being her own thing. It's still kinda weird that she went through all that effort when all she needed to do was brainwash Goldheart. I won't say much because I do have more hope for Cecilia than anyone else in the series. She's the only one that has potential to be interesting, especially with her reports. So, here's hoping her book speaks more about her.

Also, my posts are labeled "unpopular opinion" for a reason. And let's not compare two completely different shows. Please. That's incredibly dumb.

Maria, when she’s being Yulia - though with her, it’s not quite being aloof and standoffish, more Yulia is just very, very objective and disaffected in behavior so she comes off to many, if not everyone, as rather cold and somewhat distant to people in general. she can certainly emote - purposefully or not - but it either takes a very strong instigation or it looks very painfully clear that it’s an act she’s putting on, no matter how “natural” she is.
