Many of us saw the Raimi trilogy as kids and so the main characters were just put in the mental category of "adults," but growing up and realizing Peter, Harry and MJ were all in their late teens/early 20s gives their behavior a lot of much needed context, actually.
Oh, they're indecisive and riddled with insecurity? Their love lives are a complete mess? They think one mistake or setback means their life is over? Well, no wonder! They haven't even beat the 25 allegations yet.

rereading whole cake and I love how sanji's like I went against you and fought you so I can't come back to you cause that's obviously him remembering what happened with usopp back in water seven but also it means that he totally forgot all it took for usopp to be allowed back was for him to apologize and say he wanted back in and that's just. typical mugiwara behaviour. to remember how seriously they have to take luffy as a captain but forget just how easily luffy forgives them anyway. to remember they have to respect him but forget that he loves them first and foremost

it's really incredible how they were able to keep so much stuff and emotion from the anime in the live action even if they made a lot of changes to fit it in the Netflix 8 Episodes formula

finally gave in to the wild urge to replay Octo2, and replaying with The Knowledge™ is so fun actually, Castti's Ch1 has an entirely different feel to it now that I'm paying attention to...stuff and things
(I started w/ Ochette, bc I love her and she's the best, but this time I chose Akala bc I chose Mahina last time, and I really love Akala a lot already but I know I will be Suffering later)

So just days before the Shiguang Dailiren/Link Click season 2 premier, I caved into pressure and managed to watch and finish all of s1.
First of all. Pain.
Secondly, I have Theories that I must get out before s2 comes out as a measure of coping and possible deluding myself. There will be big spoilers so I'm just gonna put it under a cut.
So far, I have three-ish theories that could possibly be canon-compliant. But note that I have only watched s1 once and in the sub (which, had some odd subtitles, I won't lie, but I don't know any Chinese so that'll have to make do) and might have missed something key.
Anyway, my most hopeful theory among these three that says a happy ending is possible is the theory that these events happened when someone messed with the nodes of time. Specifically when Cheng Xiaoshi caused Emma's death and then tried to save her. By that I mean that Emma was not supposed to die, not at that point in time, anyway, and that perhaps the possessor manifested when he once again tried to change the node of her death. It doesn't have to be that the possessor was created upon that attempt to reverse her death either, just all the events following Emma's death were not meant to be. By inadvertently leading Emma to her doom, Cheng Xiaoshi changed a node of time, so the only thing that could fix it would be if he goes back again to that time period somehow and stops Emma from responding to those texts from her mum. If he manages to fix the initial change that caused all those murders (and Lu Guang's demise *cue me weeping*), then it could be that the possessor either never existed (where were they before these happenings, anyway?) or that at least everything doesn't explode so tragically.
Buuuuut, as much as I want that to happen...we did in a sense see Cheng Xiaoshi take the "let's try and stop Emma's death" route, and I think they just might take the Lu Guang dies permanently path, which is my second theory-ish which ties into the third.
In s1, Cheng Xiaoshi was blind to the death he caused and almost succeeded in saving Emma...and failed. So if s2 follows that pattern, he'll either almost succeed in saving one of his best friends and then fail right at the end (maybe it will be bittersweet where Lu Guang tells him to let go, that it's all right, and at least the narrative will let the boy have a say in his death). OR that, because he's coming in with eyes wide open (to the deaths he caused, to the possessor's existence, to the real consequences of messing with the time stream), he'll almost fail and then succeed saving Lu Guang in the 11th hour.
That said, manifesting a happy ending for our trio because haven't they been through enough??

both of you are fucking idiots, get the fuck off this wholesome transition comic post.
anyway, since you both love anecdotal evidence, I'm more than 5 years on testosterone and no, the "honeymoon phase" (???) isn't over, I am NOT bald bc I have genes that prevent that, and gay men love my soft moobs and wet pussy. get out of here with this shit and stop pushing panic about testosterone through misinformation.

wait so you're telling me this whole time i could've just said "stop being racist" & racism (at least among white people) would instantly disappear? why didn't i think of this sooner
#for the record no one is ''letting their people run around being racist''#if people are racist it takes more than just scolding or explaining to get them to stop#it's an entire mindset that requires deprogramming. it's like saying it's super easy to just quit a cult you grew up in#it isn't. that shit is In There & it takes a lot of work to better yourself#even if it feels more righteous to assume otherwise & shit on people for ''not trying hard enough''#considering the post in question is unrebloggable i'm assuming this is just a rant post that is oversimplifying & overgeneralizing#for the sake of ranting but also like. what are you talking about#i do not control the racism unfortunately. & doubly unfortunately i love to acknowledge the nuances even if it pisses people off#one of which is that skin colour does not equal white & ''poc'' does not equal ''can't be racist''#not to discount anyone's feelings but because i truly believe there is a lack of nuance currently & it leads to misinformation#& even just really weird aggressive mindsets where people care more about punishment than they do clarification or real justice#like you can complain about a certain group of people all day but in the end you cannot expect something like what this OP is asking for#''why aren't lesbians controlling TERFs?'' idk man maybe because that's just not possible#& you're also assuming that TERFs are all lesbians instead of being a mindset effecting tons of people outside the queer community even#okay rant over i'm fucking tired#okay i just checked their blog & they're a teenager x-x

A mxtx crossover event where all the red-black characters had to fight, I believe, would result in a very interesting rock paper scissors scenario.
Wei Wuxian, being the Ghost Whisperer, could probably beat, or at the very least subdue Hua Cheng. We know Hua Cheng is weak to Ghost Stuff a la the Mount Tonglu opening incident, and Wei Wuxian has dealt with extremely powerful spirits in the past.
That being said, I think Hua Cheng could take Luo Binghe in a fight. This guy bested 33 heavenly officials, his swordplay is unmatched, and Luo Binghe is very powerful but I imagine that power comes with the side effect of very little finesse. Additionally his protagonist halo probably wouldn’t save him here since he’s not the only protagonist.
However, Luo Binghe would totally destroy Wei Wuxian. With his itty bitty Mo Xuanyu core he doesn’t stand a chance. Tearing through an army of the undead is the exact sort of op bullshit Binghe excels at, so that option is out too.
That being said, if their love interests are also fighting, Xie Lian bodies those fools. I’m sorry but even though Lan Wanji is excellent and SQQ is a peak lord, they do not stand a chance. Xie Lian’s favorite trick for 800 years was to break boulders on his chest while he had no access to any spiritual energy. Dude folded the heavenly emperor like a lawn chair. No contest.

Could you please do Steph Cayley x reader where reader is recovering from acl surgey and Steph is being all cute and protective.
nurse catley | steph catley.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
thank you for this request! bit of a short one :)
Tumblr media
The soft hum of the car’s engine filled the quiet space, a soothing backdrop to the clunk of the crutches resting in the back seat. You were slouched against the passenger seat, the effects of the painkillers making you drowsy and slow. The ACL surgery was done — one hurdle cleared, but the long road to recovery loomed ahead.
Steph’s hand was warm where it rested on your thigh, her thumb drawing soft, absentminded circles through the blanket she’d tucked around you before leaving the hospital. Her other hand gripped the steering wheel, and her eyes kept darting between you and the road.
“How’re you feeling?” she asked softly, breaking the silence.
“Like I got hit by a truck,” you mumbled, your voice raspier than usual. The post-op grogginess still clung to you, but even that couldn’t hide the exhaustion in your tone.
Steph glanced over, “We’ll get you settled on the couch as soon as we’re home. I’ve already set up pillows and everything. You’re not moving a muscle until you’re comfortable.”
You smiled faintly, her fussing filling your chest with a familiar warmth. “Steph, I’ll be fine.”
Her eyes flicked back to you, stern yet soft. “Babe, you had surgery less than 24 hours ago. You’re not doing anything by yourself.”
“Okay, Nurse Catley,” you teased, though your voice lacked its usual energy.
She rolled her eyes, but the corner of her mouth quirked up. “You say that like it’s a bad thing. Someone’s gotta make sure you don’t go overboard.”
By the time you reached the house, you were more than ready to get out of the car, but Steph was having none of your attempts at independence.
“Stay there,” she ordered, jumping out and rushing around to your side before you could even attempt to unbuckle yourself.
“Steph, I can—”
“You can sit still and let me take care of you,” she interrupted, her tone firm but loving. She crouched down to carefully swing your legs out of the car, her movements gentle and deliberate.
Once she had you upright and balanced on your crutches, she looped an arm around your waist for extra support, guiding you toward the house.
Inside, she helped you ease onto the couch, fluffing the mountain of pillows she’d set up beforehand. A tray with water, snacks, and your meds was already waiting on the coffee table.
“You’ve thought of everything,” you murmured, touched by the effort she’d put in.
Steph sat down beside you, tucking a blanket around your legs before placing them on her lap. “Of course I have,” she said simply, brushing a strand of hair out of your face. “This is going to be tough, but we’re in this together. One day at a time, yeah?”
You nodded, the lump in your throat making it hard to speak. “Thank you, Steph. For everything.”
She leaned in to press a soft kiss to your forehead. “Always.”
The next few days were a haze of painkillers, rest, and Steph’s constant presence. She wasn’t just hovering — she was there at every moment.
“Here,” she said one afternoon, handing you a mug of tea just the way you liked it. She perched on the edge of the couch, watching as you adjusted the pillows under your leg. “How’s the pain today?”
“Better,” you admitted. “Still sore, but manageable.”
Steph tilted her head, studying you. “Are you sure? Don’t downplay it.”
You chuckled softly. “I’m sure, love. You don’t have to worry so much.”
“That’s like telling the sun not to shine,” she shot back, her lips twitching into a smile.
It was true. Steph had taken her role as your nurse seriously, from making sure you stayed hydrated to reminding you to do your post-op exercises. Even when you grumbled about the discomfort, she was there, encouraging and patient.
One morning, as you attempted to shuffle from the couch to the bathroom, Steph appeared out of nowhere, her hands steadying your arms.
“I’ve got it,” you insisted, gripping the crutches tightly.
“You’re stumbling, lemme help,” she replied, unwavering.
You sighed, relenting as she walked beside you, her hand hovering just in case you stumbled.
Back on the couch, she draped the blanket over you again and settled down with her laptop. “Football emails?” you asked, nodding toward the screen.
“Just emails about when I’ll be back,” she said, her tone dismissive. “I’ve told them I won’t be for another week.”
Your heart clenched. “Steph, you didn’t have to do that.”
She closed the laptop and turned to face you, her expression soft but resolute. “Of course I did. You’re my priority. Football can wait.”
Later that evening, as you both lounged on the couch, Steph insisted on putting on one of your favourite movies. “Distractions are good,” she said, tucking you into her side.
“You’re the best distraction,” you murmured, your head resting against her shoulder.
She chuckled, her arm wrapping around you securely. “Flattery will get you everywhere.”
As the days turned into weeks, Steph’s care never wavered. She cheered for every small milestone, from your first successful step without crutches to the day you managed to shower on your own.
But her favourite moments were the quiet ones — when she’d catch you smiling at her after she adjusted your pillows for the tenth time, or when you’d fall asleep mid-conversation, your hand still loosely holding hers.
Through it all, Steph’s love was unwavering, her care a constant reminder that you weren’t in this alone. With her by your side, recovery didn’t seem so daunting after all.

akutagawa and sibling mentioned!!!! [read prev tags on this one guys ghshdbdbdb❤️❤️🫂]
I truly think that one of the biggest tragedies in BEAST in regards to the Akutagawa siblings is that, at the core of it, Ryuunosuke viewed himself as a beast, and showed his love in a way a beast would, while Gin was the only person who ever saw him as human and judged him accordingly. She did not see a beast acting like a beast, the way everybody else did, she saw a human acting like a beast and it’s part of what drove her away.
The ADA saw their rookie detective at his worst, and watched—and continues to watch—him grow from a beast to a human over time. Consumed by hatred and only knowing how to be cruel, and slowly learning how to become human.
Gin saw her brother at his best—the best he could be in their situation—and then watched him grow from a boy to a beast within moments. The scraps of humanity that he had, all disappearing into rage so primal it no longer made him seem human.

If you ever were or wanted to make a new power for the pig miraculous, what would you make it?
Well, I already came up with "Love Chain" for Pigella as a Power Upgrade:
Tumblr media
With it being the Power of Jubilation, it is sorta limiting on what you would do since it's all about feeling joyful and triumpant (as far as making it an offensive attack).
It's a little hard for me to think of powers that don't seem like they're encroaching on others, like the Peacock or Butterfly, since it's based on an emotion, or if it's made redundant by other things in canon.
For example: my friend @imthepunchlord thought of a power called "Hog Heaven" which gave the user wings (you know, "when pigs fly" and all). They also added that the feathers would give anyone they touched a calming effect. However, this is made redundant by the Power Potions, one of which makes you fly.
But, one I thought of to incorporate the Pig's weapon more was "Sweet Dreams" - anyone who hears the tambOARine's chime falls into a sweet sleep with happy dreams. Since it's a bit OP, I'll add the caveat that those with strong willpower can wake themselves up, and the speed that they wake up at increases the more powerful they are.
