idk if this is accurate but i’ve felt like in previous seasons riz & gorgug have been one of the inter-bad kids dynamics we’ve seen the least of & this season has been so great in that aspect. gorgug having helped make some of riz’s magic gear. riz helping gorgug with his studies. the shared birthday party. gorgug’s gift to riz being something he himself made to protect riz. riz’s gift to gorgug being something he illegally grabbed to protect gorgug. gorgug who utilizes rage to put his body on the line for his friends & riz who will take deep levels of mental stress for his friends. even though it was within the context of a joke, riz calling gorgug an “absolute sweetie.” like yea they might not be in a band together or both part of a presidential campaign team or owlbears teammates, but they’d go to war for each other, because they’re best friends.

love the (ahem. canon) idea that wade is very smart (how many languages does he speak again???? how many martial art styles does he know?? he's an expert with literally every type of weapon!! that takes brains and discipline!) but he is and will always be a slave to the bit. and the bit is obfuscating stupidity! why would he write down plans when he can draw them out with silly stick figures? why would he speak fluent mandarin when he can pretend to be a bumbling tourist? of COURSE he doesn't know how babies are made and asks Vanessa to impregnate him. it's funnier that way

Nico and Percy's dynamic through the series is eternally funny to me, because it's just. like.

Percy's having a constant mental struggle between his fatal flaw of loyalty with a promise he made to Bianca to protect Nico, versus his Big 3 kid desire to maim other Big 3 kids / Poseidon descendant urge to totally maim Nico specifically. He hates Nico so so much. He thinks Nico's annoying and weird at best, and creepy/sketchy when he's older. The only positive thoughts Percy has towards Nico are "He's Bianca's brother and Bianca was my friend and I owe her/He's Hazel's brother and Hazel is my friend and would kill me if I was mean to him," "He's a powerful asset and useful ally (if questionable)," and "He's kinda pathetic and I feel maybe a little bad about it." Percy has multiple occasions throughout the series where he strongly considers - and on one occasionally actually goes through with - throttling Nico.

Meanwhile, Nico is following around Percy like a lost puppy. He explicitly can never bring himself to even dislike anything about Percy no matter how hard he tries. He has a whole bit in BoO where he's mentally going "UGH he's so stupid BUT IT'S ENDEARING HOW DARE HE." He's totally smitten. He's making deals with his dad for Percy. He's making convoluted plans to help Percy stand a chance against Kronos. During the entirety of BoTL it's like he's playing tsundere - "I'm helping NOT PERCY SPECIFICALLY with this quest! Me helping Percy would be SILLY because I DEFINITELY HATE HIM." Then he proceeds to show up to Percy's birthday party to basically ask him on a weird date and spend the entire next book scrambling around trying to help him or protect him or impress him. And Percy could not give less of a shit.

Just. That dynamic is so funny to me. Percy is the founder of the Nico Protection Club in that he's the one they're all protecting Nico from and meanwhile Nico is throwing himself at Percy to the point where the literal god of gay love calls him out on it.

I want. Four to get appreciation. Because

Four gave a ton of unnoticed help when Twilight was injured

The fight with Wild was difficult, and I know we're all concerned about his negative view of the shadow crystal

But Four did something that no one else really thought of to help- He took care of Twi's stuff

From the beginning he told Twilight to not worry about them

So Four took care of pretty much everything but the others (that Sky and Wars handled)

He took care of Epona

Which is so very important- he took care of Twilight's horse. After her arrival at the stable Four followed up on her

And for Epona, a horse so attached to her human, having some company can help so much for reassurance

He took care of Twilight's stuff

He got Twi's shield- his bags and equipment, and organized it into one place

And he was worried. He obviously found the shadow crystal while handling Twi's stuff, but his negative reactions to it were out of concern.

Also- because of his placement in this scene

I'm fairly convinced Four was ready to start cooking before Wild showed up (since he's beside the counter with food supplies). At the very least he had the basket of fruit out for everyone -but he was literally standing with food behind him- he thought of everything

And he did housekeeping!

Wars payed for the inn, so Four took care of the inn

Realistically these boys were probably not too concerned with tidyness. Four got all of Twi's things on one table, and took care of the room they stayed in

Organizing tables and Twi's things, having food supplies ready, and opening the curtains- overall he was the one tidying up the inn

Four helped in a huge way! He took care of Twi's horse (Epona is so important), his equipment and shield and bag, as well as the other rooms in the inn

Four filled in all the little tasks that others didn't think of. He helped in ways that were needed, but not obvious

There's a lot of problems with the shadow crystal and with Wild, and I don't know what's gonna happen in the future

But don't forget this- don't forget that Four was one who stepped up in an almost unnoticeable way

Don't forget that when everyone was barely holding it together, Four visited Twilight's horse and took care of his things

No matter what develops in the future- this amount of care shown is important ya know?

"stay still!" you mumble, one hand coming down to grip his shoulder lightly and then moving back to cup the side of his face near his ear. "i am still, your hands are shaking." barou says gruffly and dryly, raising an eyebrow up as he observes your face. your lips are parted slightly in concentration, and eyebrows furrowed as you try to move the shaving razor smoothly across his lower jaw.

" 'm not shaking" you huff under your breath. barou doesn't say anything, a small smirk forming on his face. your eyes flicker up to his and you can't help but feel warm under his intense gaze. you bite down on your lower lip to stop the growing giddy smile you're about to spout. turning your attention back to shaving him, you continue your previous actions.

you look very kissable right now, is what barou thinks as he continues to stare at you. you're sitting on the bathroom counter, your legs locked behind his hips, and he's faintly aware of your bare thighs pressing against him and the heat seeping into him through the material of his boxers comfortably. his large hands rest on your hips as his right thumb slips under the hem of your loose tshirt, running slow circular motions on your skin. this position feels so intimate, its making barou's mouth run dry. something he would never admit though.

"okay i'm done, take a look!" you beam proudly after a moment as you wipe off the excess shaving cream with a towel, shifting slightly to properly allow him to look at the mirror behind you.

breaking his gaze from you, barou glances at the mirror. he tilts his head slightly, inspecting the work. to his trained eye, barou catches a few small spots that weren't exactly shaved correctly, a few stray hairs still visible. but when his eyes fall back on you, looking at him so eagerly and so earnestly, he doesn't say it. barou, the perfectionist, cannot say anything when you look at him like that. he nods his head approvingly. "mhm' good job" he hums, patting your hip softly. you giggle as you lean forward and kiss his nose, resting your palms on his shoulders. "told ya i could do it didn't i?" you grin. barou doesn't say anything, a soft and rare smile beginning to grow in his lips. he's in too deep now isn't he?
