The Jacob snub was definitely racist. I think people just want to acknowledge that Sam is a good actor. I don't think Jacob would want people calling Sam undeserving or a bad actor to prop up himself

I can only speak to what I said, which I felt was very clear: Sam is undeserving because he has the least screentime, outside of ep 7 and 8 and his presence is placation to the very people who whined about Lestat's reduced plot importance. Let us think, if Sam were a person of color would he be getting this nomination? Would the people crusading for him over these awards stand down just as hard? if the answer to these questions anything but an immediate "yes" then you have to acknowledge that this isnt about ability, but something handed to him because the only thing he has over his peers is the color of his skin.

okay weird pull but you know how people say that taylor swift is so popular because her work is so bland. she’s uninterested in making any sort of statement or breaking any sort of mould, so her work is so palatable and widely relatable that it becomes so popular among so many people? (real quick psa im a tswift hater so i dont listen to her music, this is a recycled opinion from a more educated hater than me)

i am beginning to feel a similar way about bridgerton. its premise relies on the idea of a diverse regency england, but it becomes clearer and clearer to me every day that the show is meant for white people. all the bridgertons are white, so every love story will either be swirl or just a white relationship (shoutout to polin ig). not saying that poc dont enjoy the show (we obviously do) but there’s this vocal white audience that keeps harassing actors of colour whenever a decision is made that they dont like. or that strays from the books (which is soooo insane literally the moment they cast rege jean page your dumb cracker asses shouldve realised that the show wasnt gonna care about being book accurate ESPECIALLY since julia quinn basically said out loud that every character in her books would be racist.)

and the show Clearly isn’t interested in pushing any boundaries. look at fucking cressida cowper. given, i have no idea whether her character is going to return to the show, but the way they handled her was so muddled and fucked up that i wondered why they even bothered? they bring her in, humanise her, and then cart her off with this terrible fate. why? if anything, it made eloise and colin far less likeable (eloise, because it seemed like she didnt care about the fate of the only person who treated her with respect after she was “ruined”, and colin, because it made him seem shortsighted, naïve, self centred, and pitifully stupid). i complain because i think eloise is right. the women in this period were stifled. they were not able to study as extensively as their brothers, not able to travel by themselves, kept from sex education into their adulthood, and married off to random men (sometimes against their will, as it was for danbury, charlotte, almost cressida, and arguably daphne). you set such a sexual show in a deeply unsexy time. there’s romance in cressida escaping, being cunning and able to run. it also would’ve made the show more DRAMATIC. it straight up doesnt make sense for cressida to learn whistledown’s identity and not go immediately to the queen. why not have her escape, and let the bridgertons deal with the consequences? i don’t know. they seemed to take the stupid way out.

and then there’s the lower classes, who we rarely see outside of the women bridgerton men fuck with no/low commitment, paperboys, and printers. i’ve said before how i think it’s hideous that the lives of these women aren’t explored outside of their role as sex objects. season one at least explored the tension between anthony and sienna, who he loved but couldn’t commit to (im very glad she got out of there. im glad she respected herself enough to cut ties w him). also in season one, we see how the servants of the bridgerton house played a role in saving daphne from marrying that gross dude, but it feels like that role has vanished from subsequent seasons. maybe they know that seeing how none of the lords and ladies and other rich pricks of mayfair can’t fend for themselves is a turn off for the modern person (remember when anthony and daphne couldn’t use a stove in s1? i got the ick bad). but by ignoring this massive demographic, the show proves its disinterest in exploring the pitfalls and prejudices of the society it is set in.

its a show where women who want to escape their circumstances are villainised for their attempts and where the lives of the poor are either ignored or used to threaten the privileged. you occasionally have a sienna or a theo, but through knowing them, we are never left with the sense that society should change. they may try that next season. i know benedict is supposed to fall in love with A Poor.

i want the show to be good. i want the show to be interesting. i want all the fans who think that it can’t be good unless it’s explicitly relatable to straight white women to get over themselves (or at least go back to tswift and tsitp). i want to watch the show and not feel as though all the female characters are trapped. i want to LIKE ELOISE. some things i dislike about the show are impossible to change, but i guess i just have to hope it can be better. actually start pushing against the constraints of the genre, why not? you’re already one of the most popular shows on TV, you can risk making good television.

1. Mo Ran is more in love with concept of Shi Mei than Shi Mei himself

It started to dawn on me a while back but it slowly became clearer and clearer. Like, before there could be multiple explanations of his lack of interest in Shi Mei. Because their interactions in the first book were so sweet and wholesome and njgvtfninvghbjuvif but like reading how they cleaned up the house in silence was fucking painful. It’s like he tried to convince himself he was and he is in love with Shi Mei. Maybe he never really was, maybe only after he died Mo Ran began to convince himself he always did. Maybe he saw it as more than it really was because of grief. And because he is stupid. 

2. Shi Mei is a snake isnt he

I said it in my emotional post before ab ch 74, he totally pretended to be sick. I CONSULTED ALL MY FRIENDS (what i mean by that is my bestie and my boyfriend because im a loser like Chu Wanning) AND ASKED THEM TO TELL ME IF HE WAS SUS OR NOT. The verdict wasn’t clear but as i kept reading, it became super obvious. It was soooo sus when he just casually got out of bed while he was supposedly sick, just to menacingly and mysteriously stare at Mo Ran out of the window. As if it wasn’t clear enough before when he acted like a dainty lady all of the sudden. jnfjnju i love him, but omg im scared of what that little snake would do and what is his goal. Is that Taxian-jun’s dick really that fine

3. i didnt realize before that Mo Ran’s grave was under the haitang tree. Maybe that wasn’t mentioned or maybe i forgot about it by the time i realized haitang tree’s significance nvgjnvgjvg NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS MEANT when you said its obvious from the beginning he loves Chu Wanning. (i mean im still not super convinced by the narrative; that doggo Mo Ran needs to try harder to connect those two lonely neurons scattered inside that thick skull of his)

4. I dont like that it was mentioned that infatuation pills exist in this universe. I dont like how they are introduced out of nowhere. That could be literally anything. Magic viagra. Or dick enlarging pills. ANYTHING. But no. It has to be infatuation pills. I dont like the fact that it seems like those are important. I really dont like that thought.

5. Shi Mei’s resemblance to Song Qiutong has been mentioned twice by now. Basically every time she appears, Mo Ran makes sure to note how she was similar to Shi Mei. And from what I understand Butterfly-Boned clan is pretty unique in their appearance? Is Shi Mei somehow… related to that clan? Like maybe only in a tiny bit tho… Or he's just THAT pretty <3

6. That person in black at the end of vol 2 is me trying to get my ship to work

But on a serious note, what an ending, what the hell is going on. Did someone else really got reborn as well? Wasn’t it supposed to be rare? tjnfgvtfbvgfnbvgjnik And like… when Mo Ran is trying to figure out who the hell has water element from the people he knows… He basically goes through everyone from the main cast aside from Shi Mei… I CHECKED TWICE. alec would not want to leave without aisha in the first place. people latch on so hard to him casually suggesting leaving the undersiders in that one early chapter but like. he's doing that bc it's in the context of a hypothetical scenario where his dad is getting after him. he always unequivocally backs them & follows their lead when they get into Shit That Is Not About Him--he's just both not wanting 2 burden the undersiders w/ having 2 deal w/ his dad + assuming that they wouldn't necessarily Want to help. once they say they would help he's like. oh ok. and this is certainly the last time he ever even considers leaving. those are the only ppl he has he's not walking his ass out of there. he Thinks he doesn't care but in any situation where he's at risk of exiting or losing one of them he leans HARD into backing them up. e.g. knocking himself unconscious to help brian sacrificing himself for aisha suggesting leaving town As A Team when the s9 is there and explicitly mentioning stopping to pick up rachel first. his actions demonstrate how he feels even if he isnt consciously aware of it. this entire situation is cartoonishly implausible but even if it did happen he would just not react this way

A/N: And so the curtain rises. Or sets? Maybe it’s an interlude? Or a intermission? I didn’t really think this metaphor through. Writing Alec is hard, but I’m hoping I managed well here. No, this is not an elaborate rug pull or “oh he shows up later”. Alec is gone. He doesn’t show up for the rest of the story. And the reasoning for that should be laid out pretty clearly here. Maybe in another world, where Tori and Taylor resolved the communication issue before this point, they could’ve had that conversation. But they didn’t and he didn’t. So the only way out was out. Alec was never going to be willing to unmask. And with that knowledge, what happened last chapter should be a lot clearer. Jealousy

This was meant for the lockeroom prompt from @wolfstarmicrofic but I spent so much time on school I literally forgot to finish this. If you’re reading this and thinking about taking IBs DONT!! SAVE YOURSELF!

Quidditch has been a total pain in the dick the past month. Not only has James been a total arse to everyone in the team because of his latest breakup with Lily- the fifth one in fact- but the girls are being completely uncooperative on her behalf. It was all completely doomed from the beginning.

By the time the Sunday match rolled around, the team was a complete mess. The graceful chasers crashed into each other at least thrice, the amazing keeper could not do his only literal job and not twenty minutes had to go by before their score reached triple digits.

To no one’s surprise, Sirus casually “bumped” into the Ravenclaw chaser, right after the 120th point, throwing her off her broom.

A deafening whistle went off.

“Sirius Black!” the ref screeched “out and suspended!”

“Fuck’s sake” Sirius muttered “of course I’m the bad guy”

Angrily, he dropped to the ground and stomped to the lockeroom. Throwing his broom and removing his pads he sat down on the first bench he saw.

“A whole month a whole fucking month” he thought “putting up with James and Marlenes bullshit feud over Lily, who I also had to fucking tolerate!, to end up suspended for lightly touching that mutant asshole.”

Surely, James’s insufferable heartbreak was weighing on the whole team, but Sirius had other things weighing on him. Just last Sunday, the pretty little chaser he threw off her broom has been batting her big brown eyes at Remus. Right. Under. His. Nose.

Remus told him it had been over some homework thing, History of magic, but it was all a big ball of bullshit. Sirius knew perfectly well those two didn’t share any classes, but Remus managed to convince him was truly nothing and Sirius, blindly, decided to trust him, a regrettable decision.

Yesterday it happened again, they were standing beside the potions classroom, her eyelashes batting over and over for Remus, desperately craving his attention. The kind of attention Remus had sworn to only give Sirius. Bull. Shit.

“Pads?” A familiar voice resonated through the lockeroom. “I know you’re in here asshole, I just want to check on you before you got screamed at by everyone else”

“You’re here to scream at me?” He answered as Remus sat down beside him.

“Uh? No? I came to see how you’re doing, suspension and all”

“It’s just a semester, I can deal Remus but thanks.” He answered dryly

“The fuck is wrong with you? Don’t take your anger out at me I barely spoke to you today.” Remus argued

“Oh sure you have no time for your stupid boyfriend but all the time in the world for your bitchy girlfriend” Sirius bitched “I get it now, thanks for painting the clearer picture Moons, appreciated.”

“Girlfriend?” Remus said dumbfounded “what on earth is going on with you Pads? Who’s this girlfriend I know nothing of?”

“Oh you know, brown eyes, eyelashes that bat each time she even thinks of you, blonde, fell off her broom, you know her pretty well actually.” He spat back

“fucks sake, this again? What is it with you and Irina?” Remus asked turning at Sirius.

“What’s with me and Irina? What’s with you and Irina, Remus?” Sirius said turning to finally look at him “What is it that you two like to talk about so much you just can’t wait to talk to her?”

“She’s helping me with something” Remus said shyly

“Like your boners?”

“Like your birthday present you fucking dick.” Remus said getting up “She’s traveling to London next week, I’ve been asking her to buy you that stupid Led Zeppelin album you so desperately want since I can’t seem to get it anywhere else.”

Sirius stared down at his shoes. “Shit” he thought. However, being Sirius Black, he wasn’t just going to quit there.

“Well thanks Remus but I could wait for my birthday present if it meant you not flirting with her.”

“Merlin Sirius you are being unreasonable! We’re not flirting!” His hand practically teleported to his temple.

“Puh-lease Remus don’t pretend you don’t see how she worships the ground you walk, she’s always just lurking around the corner, waiting to be with you!” Sirius said standing up to face Remus. “The worst part is I can’t even blame her! You’re so fucking hot and do not stop giving her the time of day. I too would think I have a chance with the infamous Gryffindor casanova”

“Infamous?”

“You can’t be a nice casanova Moons,” Sirius ran his hands through his sweated hair “It just doesn’t work like that.”

“I’m quite nice to you, aren’t I?” Remus asked.

“Yeah sure, except when you’re flirting with Irina, you’re pretty decent”

“Oh fuck off” Remus chuckled

“and leave you alone in the lockeroom to wait for your girlfriend? No thanks.” Sirius meant it, but it came out as a tease, and he let it slide.

Remus laughed before sitting back down “so, how are you feeling?”

“Better” Sirius joined him, laying his sweaty head over Remus’s shoulder “please stop flirting with her, let her know you’re not interested or something it’s eating me alive” he pleaded. “Fuck i could have killed her with that throw”

“i know” Remus smirked

“Moony you’re smirking it’s weird” Sirius said sitting up.

“The smirking? why?”

“I just said I almost killed her and you’re practically laughing”

“i do think its funny” Remus rested his hand on Sirius’s lap, making him slightly jolt. “She is very annoying and you look incredibly hot all jealous and murdery over some stupid girl” Remus said, his fingers poking Sirius’s face.

“Fuck you” Sirius laughed, moving his face to the left.

“if you insist… i’ll be waiting in the dorm, James will probably kill himself after the team loss and Pete will be busy reviving him so I think we have some time.”

“Moony?”

“Mhm?”

“Next time she bats her eyes i’ll kill her right there and then.”

“Oh I am so looking forward to it.” And with a tender kiss, Sirius was left alone in the lockeroom one again.

Ngl sometimes i feel bad abt disliking LMK so much because some of my friends like it alot and one of them hyperfixates on it. But then i remember just how badly it fucked up in depicting Sun Wukong's character that im pretty sure even villainous portrayals of him in media have given him more dignity, how Six ears basically got woobified and Karma Houdinied despite the show itself showing him as a pretty fucked up villain in S1, how much the Eng Dub butchered the hell out of the Bull Demon Family's dynamic and that this show basically removed one of the core aspects of the story (Buddhism) and then i suddenly dont feel that bad anymore.

Plus its not like they know my actual opinions abt it. As long as they dont ask i think im good lol

Monkie Kid spoilers & complaining & likely exaggerating things below so avert thine eyes if you don't want to see all that

gterewfs not to add even more to the apparently intolerable trend of bringing up Xiyouji when talking about Monkie Kid but it is kind of funny how I've now seen multiple people say a lot of their dislike of the lego show comes from knowing how Sun Wukong can be depicted when he's not being written as a cringefail hermit (X_X). And as is @seasonalsummers if pressed you can probably just tell your friends that Monkie Kid just isn't your thing & leave it at that. Because yeah I've spoken before how it's not fair to expect people to make their way through the ~1,400 pages of the best English translation of the og classic in developing their sense of the journey and Sun Wukong's whole deal, and the vast diversity of depictions of the Monkey King in retellings does seem to stand testament to how much this monkey can be changed to suit the needs of a story. And as is the existence of Zaju Xiyou Ji does demonstrate how even in China this monkey's had bouts of being depicted as little more than a selfish clown, so maybe this is just the west's version of that lol.

THAT SAID, aaaaaAAAAAAA yeah genuinely is baffling and frustrating watching many people cheer and clap for what feels like the constant traumatization of Qi Xiaotian and the constant use of Sun Wukong as Monkie Kid's punching bag. Like heavens to betsy Flying Bark has so relentlessly focused on how thoroughly SWK screws up everything in both the past and the present and apparently, on his own admission, spent the entirely of his immortality doing little except making one mistake after another (i.e. routinely fucking up his life and the lives of everyone around him) that one really is left wondering why any of the show's cast would want to be even within 50 miles distance of this monkey, which is definitely something made all the more awesome by the sense that maybe the main reason is because the obvious villains of every season are explicitly trying to take over/ blow up the entire world rather than blundering their way into that position :(. And that's a dynamic definitely made even MORE awesome by everyone's favorite poor little meow meow never did anything wrong ever the Six-Eared Macaque spending the majority of his screen time both beating the tar out of Qi Xiaotian and telling anyone who will listen what a dumb bitch Sun Wukong is before the show then bends over backwards to validate his claims all while making sure he's never even slightly called out for the shit he pulls, with the clear favoritism made all the more clearer by such facts as Sun Wukong got screamed at by Long Xiaojiao in an extensive and dramatic scene for putting basically the monkie gang and the entirety of reality in danger through his doofus decisions and yet even though she literally watched the shadow simian beat Qi Xiaotian into unconsciousness and literally had her life seriously threatened by this same monkey until Tang Shifu started oh yeah the Fire of Samadhi ritual she's apparently perfectly fine with working with Mr. Six not long after. Add on top of that the way it now feels like SWK's not even really allowed to be friends with anyone except Macaque or even to interact with any of his other former besties in any meaningful way, and well this is really making for a not fun situation that keeps steering the plot away from some of the most interesting fun and heartfelt things that Monkie Kid could have done. And then on top of that Flying Bark has now shown themselves to have this habit of spending the majority of each season focusing on what a screw-up SWK is before waiting until the last possible episode before characters who up to that point couldn't have made their hatred for the Monkey King and Qi Xiaotian by extension more clear start pulling out abrupt and honestly hand-wavey reasons for why they suddenly like him. IDK! I like a good redemption arc but that's not something you can speedrun and then pretend like it's even remotely satisfying! And definitely doesn't do SWK any favors with the way he just stands there maybe looking kind of sad while someone yells at him for sucking entire before he runs off to suck at everything again and is barely ever allowed to be explicitly and messily upset about that or about what a colossal failure his life is or idk mayhaps what happened to the og pilgrims that apparently resulted in their premature deaths!! For as much as people keep saying they want characters to redeem themselves through living and working to be better and be upset and fucked up about their pasts well it sure might be nice in this situation if we actually got to spend some time on that instead of just relentlessly piling one catastrophic blunder on top of the other! tsetawraer sorry for the rant but yeah still pretty shocked on how much a silly lego show that started off as having fun adventures with the Monkey King would turn into the grimdark adventures of Young Man Traumatized, Asshole Goku, and the Stalker Shadow (X_X)

so as u guys know i went through a breakup in june. which was a good thing. i wasn’t invested in the relationship, i was unhappy, the honeymoon had faded, there were flags that i simply couldn’t ignore (both in him and myself!) and i knew i needed to return to my happiest state - being single and annoying online.

i’ve been keeping my distance from him because that’s what was best for ME. we literally haven’t spoken in 2 weeks. so i gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought he was just trying to catch up, be friendly. i rationalized that since we were only together about 5 months, then it wouldn’t be completely weird to start being friends now that 2 months have passed since the separation. 

besties....he wanted to know if we could get back together. 😠 i was like ?????????? and he was like “well, we spent the summers working on ourselves” (bro ur still not in therapy so i disagree), and then he was like “i feel like we broke up because i was having such a hard time at work and was going through a hard time and it reflected on our relationship.” and i was like uhhh. and so i said a metaphor i was like “us getting back together would be like trying to complete a puzzle when you’ve lost pieces in the vacuum.” and he goes “OH WELL, relationships have their ups and downs! we could still find those pieces.”

i legit wish someone was recording my face. i was in shock. like when we broke up, i did tell him i hoped we could be friends, i told him i hoped we could be in each other’s lives and that maybe (and it’s a big maybe) we could reconnect in the far future. (but, i remember when i said this, i was only saying it to be nice. which was a mistake since it led me to this whole conversation). 

ANYWAYS. to make a long story short. i told him No. and he was like “why i dont understand. you said you loved me. how could you love me and then not love me anymore. this is really hurting my self-worth. i dont understand. what changed??”

and i just...didn’t engage really. i wasn’t gonna list all the reasons. i already did that when we broke up and he demanded answers. i told him that i didn’t feel the connection anymore. and i already know im hurting his feelings AGAIN. eventually i just said “i’m happier single.” and he was like “oh? so i won’t see you dating someone in six months?” and i was like “probably not?? but idk?” he also brought up an old interaciton we had waaay back in march and tried to gaslight me by saying i got defensive during it, but i literally wrote that interaction down beat by beat so i remember how it went because it made me feel so uncomfortable and was my first serious red flag. >:( you cannot trick me! 

we managed to end the conversation and i stayed firm within my boundaries even tho he looked sad/was tearing up and kept asking me for reasons (idk why being unhappy in the relationship isn’t a reason enough for him??) a few hours after i got home, he texted me and was like “Was everything you said earlier true? No lying to save my feelings?” and i texted him back and was like “Yeah, it was all true.” idk how i could’ve been any clearer. i think he just dislikes hearing things he doesn’t want to hear. (omg also he brought up bell hooks--someone i introduced him to!--and was like “are you just chasing the next high?” and i was like “??? idk ??” )

my friends keep telling me he was emotionally manipulative, but it’s hard for me to see it. maybe in time i will be able to. but again--im just proud of myself for not “cowering” and changing my mind because i’ve got a person in front of me who i do care about --and who is sad--who i could make happy by doing what he wants.

but that is no life worth living. i live for myself. for my own happiness. and i was not happy in the relationship. you don’t need any other reason to leave-- if you’re unhappy, you can just go. it’s fine. i think that’ll be the big lesson i takeaway from this whole debacle.

"You only know what I want you to / I know everything you don't want me to" SOMETHING I WANTED TO POINT OUT IN MY ANALYSIS THING IM DOING is that, in this line, Quackity is right. Wilbur *really does only know what Q wants him to.* There isn't a single thing he hasn't told Wilbur in confidence that it wouldn't affect his cover. Wilbur thinks he knows more because of his power but all he has to work with is vague fear and regret and he doesn't even know what Q regrets. But, like you said, Wilbur is still *there,* arms open, ready to catch Q when the fall happens. He still doesn't know what's really happening, but that doesn't mean Q is alone. Wilbur will never let him feel like he's alone in this. Never.

"The less I give, the more I get back." YEAH. LITERALLY YEAH. Q knows the more he pulls away the more Wilbur chases him and it's *terrible.* He just wants Wilbur to pull back, to stay away, but Wilbur just *won't,* he simply can't let Quackity be in pain. He thinks he can fix it because he's always fixed it, Wilbur has always been the one talking Quackity down, he's always helped Q remember he's not alone, but now Q isn't *responding to that like he used to.* It doesn't make sense. Wilbur can't leave because it hurts him, he can't stay because that hurts him too, it's torture it's literally just torture for both of them.

"I don't have a choice, but I still choose you." They are doomed btw. They simply cannot escape each other I don't know how much clearer I need to be. Quackity will always go back to him and Wilbur will always follow and they will both be orbiting each other forever no matter how badly Q wants to believe he can break that loop. He won't. As selfish as it is, he will keep Wilbur in orbit on purpose, and Wilbur will not leave, and Q will not leave, and yes they are endgame but they are also toxic as fuck right now. They are fucking repulsed by each other and the attraction is horrific.

The love is still there, that weird ass spark from the first moment they met to right now, they still love each other because (and this might just be my personal belief) Love is an energy that cannot be created nor destroyed. my (nearly) complete thoughts on hitting on 16, typed organically in my friend’s dms

i think on hitting on 16 was a fantastic glimpse into c!wilbur's brain, and it made all the clearer a lot of musings and theories we've concluded about him before then he is ill. he has not recovered, or truly changed since the days of lmanberg's initial destruction. him insisting that he has is more a prayer, a lie hes telling himself, than anything tommy knows this. tommy knows it, but in a way hes lying to himself too. he wants his fucking brother back! and he loves him, deeply, even if he knows hes full of shit. i think that little scene when tommy brings wilbur water is so, SO telling. wilbur's pride doesnt let him openly care or be vulnerable, but tommy knows this. and while hes not necessarily fine with it.. he understands it.

wilbur loves having a passion, a drive. it helps him focus him away from his sick thoughts and from the memories of limbo. hes like an adrenaline junky to the extreme. his newest drive is, of course, besting quackity under the thin veil of hating las nevadas and the burger van.

unfortunately, wilburs love for tnt has persisted, so hes willing to do frankly absurd shit to get under quackity's skin. and its funny, his chosen method, because its SO reminiscent of early server days. theres so many details that point to the fact that wilbur doesnt realize how much has changed, how much he hasnt changed. want to get at quackity? steal his pet. the pet wars are still fresh enough in his memories.

of course, while wilbur was (is) a genius, hes also too unstable - and, i'd argue, manic - to really think things through enough to make them work as intended. which... you know. is part of why things go to shit

ccwilbur does well with his writing of quackity imo. wouldnt really change anything, which is good since this arc revolved around q so much

i dont think he did quite as well with ranboo. wilbur doesnt know how to write cranboo's dialogue. which is a relatively minor flaw. what he says to tubbo as theyre stealing the horse sits wrong with me though, and its more than how its said. i think the slight tension between bee duo as a result of wilbur and q's bullshit is evident enough, but not to this point. in fact, ranboo helping to steal the horse at all feels a little.. off. like, everyone insists ranboo has a weak spine, but this is ridiculous. he cares about animals, and he certainly does not trust or blindly follow wilbur. both of those things seemed to be the case in this story, which is kind of disappointing. you could write that off as it being cwilbur's pov and thus him THINKING ranboo follows him, but.. idk. his actions betray that

and finally, ctubbo. his characterization still pisses me off. this is the same kind of thing where you could wave it off as being how cwilbur sees him, but frankly i just dont think its justified. tubbo in this feels like a weird fanon version of himself, a distorted image. kind of hitting the mark, but not really. tubbo is barely any more recovered or moved on than wilbur. hes TRYING to find himself a new purpose with tubburger, but its a bit of a weak attempt, and he wouldve realized in time that it wasnt for him. especially considering q and wilbur's bullshit. i frankly feel he would have put a bit more of a fight, or at least annoyance/anger, when he saw wilbur and ranboo taking boner away. this is.. i mean okay, its up to interpretation. but tubbo has shown on the lmanberg anniversary that he stands up to wilbur now, in his own quiet way. that he knows wilbur trails victims behind him. i think thats the heart of bee duo's issues, actually. which not a lot of people seem to realize. ranboo doesnt trust wilbur either, and is keeping an eye on him. whereas tubbo tried to tell him theres no point. that wilbur will do what he does and hurt others in the process - and inevitably ranboo will be in the blast radius this time. which comes to fruition quite literally.

so.. while i disagree with the execution of certain scenes/events/character depictions, i think OVERALL that ccwilbur's amazing storytelling shines through. this was the perfect end to the burgervan arc, as heart breaking as it is. ranboo gets hurt, as was coming. tubbo tries to stop it despite knowing better, out of the goodness of his heart. bee duo try to protect each other, failing bc of the wedge forced between them. q and wilbur's rivalry escalates to petty and dangerous levels, to the point they even fight over who SAVES their victims. its so, so good.

Istg the fact that this is even still debated is mind boggling when it couldnt have been made any clearer all because mfs dont know how to read.

Sarada says These will look perfect in Himawari’s vase

I dunno if people are purposefully being dumb or they actually cant understand basic literature but saying something will look nice in something does NOT mean they were bought for the owner of said object. Context plays a key role, you would know that if yall actually bothered to think for more than 2 seconds.

For example, Boruto bought flowers for his mother, and he put them in HIMAWARI’S vase, does that mean the flowers were for Himawari since he put them in her vase? no. Know why? because he said they were for his mother on her birthday and NONE of you questioned that regardless whose vase he put it in. But before I continue ranting I’ll keep it professional for now and address the context yall conveniently overlooked, the irrefutable proof of who the flowers were actually for.

Sarada’s face says it all here, why would she make an awkward face with a sweat drop scratching her cheek awkwardly about buying flowers for Boruto’s little sister who shes known all her life? why would she feel awkward about that? and why wouldnt she just answer Ino? all she says is Yeah, sort of... 

We know she never said who it was for because Ino literally GUESSES who their for based on her reaction, if they were for Himawari Sarada wouldnt have been awkward and just said Yes these are for Himawari, she wouldnt look awkward and hesitate to tell Ino who their for UNLESS they were for someone she felt awkward admitting she was buying flowers for, aka Kawaki.

Sarada from her own mouth calls the person she bought them for a HE and says HE will probably think shes just being nosy, and whos the one guy who has called her nosy?

This is not rocket science, its just basic common sense, all this debate just because Sarada says the flowers would look nice in Himawari’s vase, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT BORUTO THOUGHT ABOUT THE FLOWERS HE BOUGHT FOR HIS MOTHER. 

My god where was this energy back then? why only with Sarada are yall going through all these mental gymnastics tryna prove she didnt buy flowers for Kawaki? the only reason you would fight THIS hard against such a simple gesture that you insist is completely platonic is because you KNOW its significance.

And to those of you who claim the flowers are in the trash, stop the cap, we dont know what happened to the flowers after they went to fight Boro, all we know is Sarada dropped them after going into shock seeing Konohamaru badly injured.

Even if they were discarded, it doesnt change the fact that she bought them for him and it doesnt change the fact that she cared enough to think of him while picking up flowers her mother bought for her father, she took upon herself to buy separate ones for Kawaki. I think thats the part that scares yall the most.

Boruto could have put the flowers in Shino’s vase for all yall cared and yall still wouldnt have questioned who it was for because he SAID who it was for, but because its flowers from Sarada for Kawaki suddenly its different.

The biggest part of all this is that the flowers were a gift from BORUTO for HIS mother on HER birthday, why would Sarada, replace a gift from someones son for her birthday, that makes absolutely no danm sense. Imagine Boruto replacing a gift Sarada bought for her mother, its just downright ridiculous. The only reason Kawaki is replacing the vase is because he BROKE it, Sarada has absolutely no relation to any of that so theres no reason for her to get involved in their family matters.

One final point about the context is what she says, that he’ll just think she’s being nosy, and what exactly did Kawaki call her nosy for in the first place?

She was staring at him which Kawaki noticed and asked her what is she looking at? his attitude was caused by 3 things leading up to this comment

1 Naruto kept insisting that Kawaki and Sarada were friends now

2 Mitsuki revealed that Sarada suggested they come there to spy on Kawaki

3 She was staring at him hard and he noticed

After Kawaki calls her nosy he immediately makes a point of telling her that he doesnt intend on becoming friends with any of them, referring back to what Naruto said, he makes clear that he rejects her offer of friendship from before, he is also irritated at her coming there to spy on him.

Notice the common theme in all this? all of this pertains to SARADA sticking her nose into HIS business, everything leading up to him calling her nosy has been HER being nosy about HIM, not anyone else.

So the only reason she would say he would think shes being nosy, is because the flowers are for HIM not Himawari. Why would he even call her nosy for buying flowers for a friend? shes known Himawari long before he has so if anything HE’D be the one whos being nosy for commenting on it.

Bottom line is yall only fighting this hard to make this a Himawari thing instead of a Kawaki one is because you yourselves know its significance, hell like yall were originally saying it could be completely platonic, but the implications of her buying flowers for Kawaki at the same time Sakura buys flowers for her husband is a bit concerning for non KawaSara shippers lol so believe me I get your concern.

But regardless of how you feel about it, the flowers were for Kawaki, deal with it.

Summary : moving to a new place, not knowing a single person, wasn’t what you had in mind. But wanting a fresh start was the main goal. Little did you know, you were now living next door to none other than Chris Evans.

A/N : I had this dream and thought it would be fun to write a little story off of it. It’s cheesy and I honestly don’t even know if he has neighbors where he lives but oh well. Hope this makes you somewhat happy during these crazy times! Please be safe and don’t forget, wash your hands! (:

The house next door to Chris had been vacant for quite some time and he honestly didn’t even know it had sold.

Until now.

“Dammit.” You groaned to yourself as your books broke through the bottom of the box, falling to the ground.

All you could do was look up and let out a sigh. From driving all night, you were exhausted, stressed and beyond annoyed.

Chris had just finished changing his shirt when he heard the loud ruckus that came from outside, quickly catching his attention.

He watched you for a quick moment before Dodger snapped him back to reality after he bumped into his leg.

“Hey buddy.” He muttered, glancing back at you through the window.

You were struggle to push the broken box to your door. To get it out of the way.

Chris couldn’t help but feel bad. Without a moment to process what he was about to do, he started toward the door, making his way over to you.

It didn’t take long for him to walk over due to being literal next door neighbors. But finally getting to see you clearer he was captivated. Drawn into you for a reason he wasn’t sure as to why.

“Um hey, need some extra hands?”

The voice came from behind you, startling you. “Shit!” You exclaimed, holding your chest with your hand. “You scared me!”

You cut the word short once your eyes met his, suddenly, you were at loss for words.

“I—I’m so sorry.” He muttered. “I didn’t mean to scare you, I was—“ he stopped when he noticed your expression, one he has seen too many times on fans faces.

He didn’t mind really, but sometimes he wished he wasn’t so recognizable.

“You seemed like you needed a hand.” He flashed a smirk.

Swallowing hard, toy forced yourself to snap out of whatever the hell you were lost in. Which was harder than you thought.

“T-Thank you. But I’m okay.” You managed to get out. “I’m Y/N by the way.”

Chris’ lips curved at the edges, forming a soft smile. “Chris. It’s nice to meet you.”

As if you didn’t know who he was.

You tried to collect yourself and return back to moving the box full of books. But unfortunately, it was useless. With it falling apart and the weight of it all, you were having a hard time.

“Are you sure you don’t want any help?” He asked, his hands deep in his front pockets. “It kind of looks like you’re struggling.”

“Struggle is my middle name.”

Immediately, you winced are how horrible that joke was, which only created Chris to chuckle.

You knew having help would make things a lot easier, but you didn’t want to come off as creepy, mainly because you knew you’d probably stare too much or say the wrong things. It’s not everyday you move next door to your celebrity crush.

This whole thing felt like a fan fiction. Which you read from time to time whenever you got tired of the real world.

So it was hard to look him in the eyes and pretend to be cool about the fact that he was your neighbor. Of all people.

“I really am ok—“ before you could finish your sentence, the books fell through the box once again, but this time, one of them landed on your foot.

“Shit!!” You grunted.

Chris strode over to you in an instant, and helped you set the box down.

His hand grazed against yours, and for a moment, you forgot about the pain. Until you shifted in your stance.

“Damn, that’s going to leave a bruise.” You hissed.

Chris couldn’t help but start to laugh. As hard as he tried to hold it in, he couldn’t control it. Before you knew it, you were both standing in your driveway, laughing.

“Great way to break the ice, right?” You cackled.

“Definitely. One hell of a way to meet your neighbor.” He said with a cheeky grin.

You let out a soft sigh, and finally caved. Nothing could be worse than that right? Besides, you’ll be too busy walking back and forth, there won’t be time to talk or embarrass yourself even more for that matter.

“So about that extra hand?”

He nodded and went straight for the box you unsuccessfully moved.

“Where would you like me to put these?” He asked.

“Um anywhere is fine. Thank you.”

He flashed yet another smile and made his way inside, and suddenly you let out a breath you didn’t even know you were holding.

‘Holy shit. Chris Evans is my fucking neighbor?!’ You thought you yourself. ‘Okay, be cool Y/N. Don’t be weird.’

As time went on, you were both going back and forth, transferring the boxes into the house. You shared a few glances here and there, and when you would catch each other’s eyes, you couldn’t help but grow bashful and quickly look away.

Feeling like a teenage girl all over again.

Chris on the other hand, he was amused by the way he made you fluster. It was something he was used to experiencing with some fans he encountered, but there was something different when you did it.

After a while, you had small conversations here and there. It started with talking about the weather, then turned into something a little more intimate.

He had asked you about your life, your hobbies, your dreams. And the way you talked about the thing a you loved, he was somehow drawn in even more.

You were funny, and not just in a typical way. It was the one where the laughter rolls up in your chest and bursts out without any restraint.

Talking to him, it almost felt effortless. The words kept slipping through and fell into place. You managed not to screw up.

“I had no idea people still liked the Backstreet Boys.” He chuckled, pointing to your shirt.

“Hey, dont hate on my boys. They have been with me through a lot of relationships and heart breaks.”

He chuckled once again, leaning against your truck, he arms crossed over his chest.

You couldn’t help but get lost in those damn beautiful blue eyes, that you didn’t realize you had unloaded all of the boxes.

“Oh damn, we did it.” You smiled, feeling relieved to have that part done with. “And now all that’s left to do is unpack those damn boxes.”

“But that’s the best part.” He said. “You get to set up everything the way you like and reminisce on all the random crap you find.”

“That’s true. But I’m too sober to get into that mess.” You chuckled.

He knew he should call it a day and let you be, but he wasn’t ready to say bye just yet. He wasn’t ready to walk away.

“Well, let’s crack open some beers and maybe order some pizza while we’re at it.”

You were taken aback by his words, you weren’t sure if you actually heard him right.

“Wait, what?”

“Come on, I’ve helped you this long. Might as well help you finish.”

You snorted and chuckled at the same time, shaking your head.

“What’s so funny?” He asked.

“I’m sorry, I just have a very dirty mind, and well—“

He paused for a moment before putting two and two together and laughing along with you. “I mean, you could at least take me out on a first date before hitting on me.” He winked.

In that moment, you swore you felt your knees wobble and your breath hitch to the back of your throat.

‘Did he just flirt with me?’

“Trust me, you’d know if I were hitting on you. I’d use some of my famous pick up lines.” You said, feeling a tad confident in that moment. “And besides, I don’t think you could handle me anyway.”

Things were intense between you two. Tension so thick, you could cut it with a knife. But after a long moment of locking his gaze on you, Chris cleared his throat and laughed it off.

“I have some beers at my place I can bring over, and I could order us some food.”

You shook your head no and pulled your phone out of your back pocket. “You literally saved my ass today, the least I could do is buy you food. Pay you for your service or whatever.”

A smirk formed on his lips, “are you calling me a hooker?”

“What? No! I wasn’t! I was just—no. I’m sorry if—“

Chris could see the panic in your eyes and stopped you before you rambled on. “Hey, it’s okay! I was kidding!” He cackled. “I know what you meant. Don’t worry.”

Letting out a sigh, you could feel heat begin to radiate off your body. This is what true embarrassment felt like. Something you were definitely used to since all you ever do is make a fool of yourself.

“I’ll be back. I’m gonna check up on my dog and grab some beer for us.” He said. “Then we can get started on unpacking all of your dark secrets.”

Before you could say anything, he turned on his heels and walked back to his house, leaving you to yourself.

“So much for focusing on myself. How the hell am I suppose to focus when he is my freakin neighbor?!” You mumbled to yourself. Walking back to your house.

Chris was immediately greeted by Dodger the second he opened the door, and his brother Scott who was staying with him for a bit.

“Who’s that?” He asked, pointing out the window. “Because she’s cute.”

“Her name is Y/N. She just moved in—obviously. And please don’t start.”

Scott presses his hands to his chest, pretending to be offended. “Start what? I’m just innocently asking who she is. That’s all.”

“Scott, there’s nothing innocent about you.”

His little brother chuckled and shrugged. “You have a point.”

“Well if you’re done, I am going to grab some drinks and head back to her place.”

“Oh? You two are drinking together already?! Christopher! At least take the girl out on a proper date.”

Chris rolled his eyes as he made his way over to his kitchen. This wasn’t something he wanted to get into at that moment. Especially with his brother.

But he knew he wouldn’t let it go. That wasn’t in his nature.

“She seems like she needs a friend, that’s it.” Chris muttered. “Now let’s drop this okay? Besides, I am in no rush to get into another relationship. I am doing just fine with the way things are.”

Scott pursed his lips, not believing a single word his brother said, but he wasn’t going to push it. “Whatever you say, bro. Just don’t run to me when you start catching feelings, okay?”

“I won’t. Don’t worry.” He chuckled, as he grabbed a six pack of beer from his fridge. “I’ll just be next door, if you need anything.”

“Mhmm.”

As he started back to your place, he kept mumbling to himself, that this was purely platonic. This can’t turn into anything, it just can’t.

And for the most part, he truly believed he had nothing to worry about. But as months come and gone, and you two grew closer each day....

The post about vsm225 has really rubbed me the wrong way and I have a few things to say.

First, I have a message for the person who submitted the ask to you: if you are going to bash somebody like that behind the safety and comfort of your keyboard, the least you can do is NOT post it anonymously. Show us your name and your face. How do you expect to be taken seriously for tarnishing someone's name anonymously?

I myself have been her long time follower on instagram. Does that make me and another 1300 people stupid? Shallow? Retarded?

However, the fact that i have been her follower will not make me biased to what i have to say.

Now, on a serious note, I like what she posts on her instagram, also i like what meimei (the girl who is looking after her account at the moment and posting stuff for vsm while she is struggling with covid) has been posting for the past month as well. Well, im lying. I dont like it, i LOVE IT. I love the vibe of posts, i love how spicy and sassy they are, and that is one of the instagram profiles i have the most interaction with. Because we are all there to have a good time, NOT to state facts. Vine is a very respectful person, she never throws hate or shade towards anyone, she never forces anyone to believe in anything she posts, and she never pushes her content in the as-a-matter-of-fact manner. Yes, there are sometimes hardcore bad translations from weibo, but i never take that stuff too deep, im able to get the point of what was behind it. Also, if she posts anything misleading for whatever reason, the moment she realises that she will own up to it and apologise.

Everything else is not meant to be taken seriously, but as fun and good time. Tbh I'm not biased towards anyone in this case so I'm just gonna say what I'm thinking now. The previous anonymous ask about vsm was somehow pretty harsh towards vsm and I really don't want anyone to throw shade on her at all because I know she's a lovely fan of YZ and she's just trying her best to share the latest info about the boys. I know not all of her posts are about the facts; many of them are just delulus and jokes among fans, which are normal, and of course it's her own account so she could literally share anything she wants. However, I myself prefer the clarity in news/info delivery more, I mean if the post is just a delulu or joke, it should be stated clearly in order not to cause misleading or misunderstood things, because many interfans do not have Weibo accounts to double check the info, not to mention those new fans who might get confused even more. I have to say that this isn't the first time someone asking me about the reliability of some vsm's posts on IG because of her "vague" words and translation, and then I had to find the original posts on Weibo again or double check the info with Chinese cpfs then told vsm to correct her words.

So my opinion is that we are all sharing info with a big love for our idols but we also need to care about the clarity and reliability of our content as well. Of course we do not need to please anyone on the internet but at least we're responsible for what we post and those who might read it.

and jiang cheng.  being the tough love uncle . having raised the yunmeng jiang clan from the rubble all alone, his whole family dead, some of it on the blame of his own brother, his siblings, his closest friends gone.......and only jin ling there needing his guidance. 

THE PARALLEL BETWEEN JIN LING BEING A LIFELINE FOR JIANG CHENG AND A-YUAN FOR LAN WANGJI AFTER THE BATTLE AT THE NIGHTLESS CITY

and like . the fact! that lwj and jc dislike each other!!. jc projects blame onto him for wwx both “leaving” him and indirectly causing their families deaths and when hes so consumed by it he makes wwx an enemy, lwj is there now? trying to protect him?? and lwj, who can never understand the pain that wwx , indirectly or not put jc through, but who was right there when jc tried to kill him and will never allow him to hurt wwx again. and how they like. in a way project blame of their tragedies onto each other while dealing with some type of survivor guilt and in their own way still loving wwx through it all???  amd in way its kind of fundamentally selfish but also tragically understandable? and like when u put it against the fact that after he disappears during the sunshot campaign they were looking for him together and fought together??

JUST. THE CHARACTERS. AND THE RELATIONSHIPS IN THIS. MAN. UGH. GOD. 

and like i think thats what makes it so good? its such a sad and painful and violent story, edgy even, but its compelling bc at the center of it there are all of these relationships and different types of love and hope and. :( i love it

Hope for the future  

one of the ?? things  i love the most is the fact that the main cast are often in situations where theyre hunted/running but they like. never wear disguises... just going around in their gorgeous expensive clan clothes and hair ornaments and distinctive spiritual weapons.... maybe w a straw hat on, just for kicks

Upon rereading tgcf, one of the biggest complaints I have is how lackluster all the extra chapters were. literally none of them were good and all contained rlly gross and harmful sentiments (like the amnesia one which.. yea.. or all the things implying xl should get pregnant for hc thus equating gay relationships with hetero ones and playing into the wife thing and just GOD I HATE MXTX) 

There were a lot of little plot points i wish that had been further elaborated on more in the extras as opposed to hualian being ... like that. I had enough. Like mdzs had actaully good extras (minus the incense burners) that were nice side stories that elaborated more on the characters. Like the hook one with the juniors was so cute and i loved seeing them grow more. Or the lotus pod extras omg.. im such a lotus pod extra stan. those were so cute and gave us a lot of good insight into just how lovestruck lwj was during the times when he didn’t see wwx. mxtx should've stuck to those sorta extras in tgcf but NOOO. SO I have a list of so many other more interesting things those chapters couldve been spent on like:

A resolution on He Xuan’s revenge and his character arc. Bc its implied He Xuan is still hanging out and watching over sqx and that taking revenge didn’t fully satisfy him bc ok.. yea shi wudu is dead but he xuans family will never come back. Now what does he have to live for?? i wish we couldve seen a look into his life during the entire ordeal. like a chapter from his perspective while he was posing as Ming Yi  and maybe a look at a conversation btw he xuan and the real ming yi or a chapter after SQX was banished to see what he’s doing now. Also what did he xuan owe hua cheng money for anyways?? Like ik not every little thing has to be explained but I Want to Know. PLEASE more goth boyfriend content now I just wanna see him :,((

a better resolution of yin yu and quan yizhens storyline. im still mad abt how that plot point was split btw books 3 and 5  when it was rlly out of place and  there were other more pressing plot matters and it just rlly deserved more time. Also i thought yin yu died!?!?!? but apparently one of the extras says he’s alive and man... i;m not reading any more of the extras to see that, give me a full yin yu and quan yizhen chapter.. fuck.

a day in the life of the guoshi fangxin or general hua PLEASE especially like one where hua cheng was SO CLOSE to meeting xie lian but had no clue that xie lian was there at the time but the two did smth that inadvertantly helped the other and they still were connected even though they hadnt met omg pls that’d be so nice. like imagine Hua cheng catching a glimpse of the guoshi in public in yong’an while he’s trying to follow some lead that points to xie lian or maybe following a lead to capture qi rong bc he said he knew qi rong was a part of the yong’an stuff and originally thought the guoshi was one of qi rongs pawns. like can you IMAGINE him getting so close. but at the last second he did smth small that impacted xie lian. like they bumped into eachother on the street or smth. god i’d go crazy

OR vice versa.. like a day in the life of the young ghost king hua cheng. Like again, one of my biggest issues was that hua cheng just knew everything and its never really explained how he got all of that info. like yes he’s been alive very long and has eyes and ppl working for him everywhere but like... how did he build that network?? I’d love to see a chapter of young ghost king hua cheng travelling around trying to learn as much as he can abt the world and how it can help bring him to xie lian. and the two maybe are in the same kingdom for a bit and they don’t meet exactly but hua cheng stops some fight or something and helps xie lian indirectly or maybe xie lian is performing on the street in some costume and hua cheng doesn’t recognize him and smiles and gives him a coin or smth. idk i’m just dying for any sorta extra chapter or fic like that. i’m honestly so tempted to write my own but i cant write

also!! we’ve seen how xie lian picks up people down on their luck near him and show them kindness (like banyue, lang ying, xiao ying, he tried to with san lang but we know how that ended lmao) so i’d love to see another little vignette of him doing that on his travels and how every person he meets teaches him smth about life and being a good person and idk, i just think it’d be rlly sweet. i love this facet of his character and feel like we didn’t see enough of it towards the end.

ALSO hua cheng only seems to respect one heavenly official besides xie lian and thats yushi huang.. i assume thats mostly bc she was the only one to help xie lian and let him use the rain master hat to bring water to yong’an. I was thinking maybe when he was a new supreme he had run into trouble and maybe was picked up by the rain master and helped him heal and in return he promised to help protect her village from harm in the future. Like i know a heavenly official wouldn’t cooperate with a ghost like that but yushi huang is different and doesn’t really care about the heavens so i think she would protect him if he could do something to benefit her village. ik this is kinda far fetched but when he first became a supreme I’m sure a bunch of ppl probably tried to mess with him and didn’t rlly believe him to be undefeatable bc he hadn’t proved himself yet also i doubt all his power came overnight. he had to learn how to use it once he escaped the kiln. and some group probably thought they could weaken him somehow. I’m thinking maybe a rlly well formed group of ghosts actually caught him off guard once and he had to retreat and was picked up by the rain master and stayed with her and learned from her a bit. i think it’d be a cool concept also i just rlly want more yushi huang content and i’m on their friendship agenda bc he rlly did seem to actually respect her when she first appeared and i think it’d be cool if the two had some history together.

Also idrc if this was addressed I couldve missed it But!! Did xie lian ever tell Hua cheng that the reason he got the curse shackles and was banished again in the first place wasnt bc jun wu wanted to punish him, but because he requested it. And specifically requested it bc he felt guilty abt letting wu ming take the human face disease and disperse for his sake. So he took the shackles and descended to atone for that?? Bc I dont recall hua cheng learning that bc his soul was already dispersed at that point so it didnt follow him and xie lian didnt say anything so uhhh... someone should tell hua cheng that. Like I dont think xie lian rlly said how much hua cheng meant to him and didnt show him he was loved in grand ways. Like xie lian did always care for bc in other ways but I think if hua cheng learned abt this on screen it wouldve been such a great moment and I'm rlly surprised mxtx didnt address this iirc!?!? Like imagine jun wu telling Hua cheng this in the kiln bc xie lian wouldnt say it himself. Imagine how cool that would be.

Also a small thing adding into the whole young ghost king Hua cheng stuff. Its implied and p much stated that hua cheng isnt his real name. That he likely doesnt have a real name bc his parents died? (It's not clear. I'm still mad at mxtx for not making his childhood clearer). So I'd like to see when and why hua cheng chose that name for himself. The new tgcf ending song kinda hints at its meaning with the lyrics "for you I'd fill a city of flowers" as xie lian is the flower wielding martial god so it's probably inspired by that. Also xie lian saved hua cheng from leaping off the city walls but I'd love to hear him say it bc the implication of his name didnt dawn on me for quite a bit and I dont know if everyone made the connection. Again I sure as hell didnt. So itd be cool to see a chapter that takes place in his past after just ascending as a supreme

Overall I rlly think tgcf had a lot more potential to be even better and a lot of that comes down to fleshing out the side characters and letting hualian have more of a storyline independent of one another. like i know the appeal and message of tgcf is that through love, people can overcome anything, but fuck man. i just wanna see what these two (mostly hua cheng) where like in the absence of each others presence. Part of what I really liked abt mdzs is that we got to see that longing develop btw wangxian when the two weren’t together and how they thought about each other and did things in thei others spirit bc they knew the other wouldve done the same thing. but whatever, mxtx was too consumed by her own unhealthy idea of what devotion and true love looks like but still. i rlly think the extras couldve helped the story be better rather than be fujoshi fuel that i try to bleach from my mind -_-

1. their shoulder touches. when bucky touches steve’s shoulder in the og end of the line scene and then steve does the same in the hellicarrier in civil war? a masterpiece!

2. the way they look at each other. observe: steve in catfa when bucky says he’s following him? bucky in cacw when him and steve are talking about memories from the 30s/40s? how marvel expect us to think this is straight i will never know. it’s so intimate and says everything that words can, which is something so powerful to emanate between two people on screen. it’s real props to seb and chris because being able to radiate their sheer love and loyalty to each other just through looks? incredible

3. the fact that bucky is steve’s one weakness. one of my favourite scenes is when rumlow says “your pal, your buddy, your bucky.” it’s literally so intense... YOUR BUCKY... he doesn’t belong to steve in a sense of ownership he belongs to steve in a sense of love and loyalty and commitment. everyone knew bucky was steve’s weakness and the fact rumlow says YOUR bucky just sends me to an astral plane

4. steve taking the suit from the smithsonian because he knows bucky will recognise it. I MEAN? this is literally... marvel could not have laid it out any clearer and more perfect. it coincides with the dialogue in catfa and is just iconic in itself really. the fact steve remembers he said that as well. amazing

5. their fighting in civil war and how steve covers bucky with the shield and bucky puts his arm around steve. HELLO!!!!!! they haven’t fought together since the 40s but they slip back into it just like that... and even though bucky is still confused about who steve is and who he should trust, he does this almost automatically. steve was always deeply rooted within bucky’s mind and even though he’s hesitant about it, he knows deep down that this is more than just a man here to stop him from being hurt and taken in, this is a man who came here because he loves and cares about him deeply
