Surprise, my AU has its own custom villain.

His name is literally just a joke I had with my friend when I was making him. I had to call him something and I kept on seeing this dude as a reverse Jak, so, Kaaj. get it?

Kaaj is one of the escapees of the dark eco experiments, I'm really just writing him to be a 'what if' version of Jak that didnt have a Daxter to save him. kid is all anger issues and no emotional anchors.

I got really inspired by Puss in Boots TLW having a variety of villains, so screw it we got a whole cheese board of bad guys to try, don't be shy, we got our tragic dude who will hopefully see the light, a complete obsessive psycho who think he's doing the right thing, and true evil straight from the dark depths.

That last one I wont make posts about now, id rather keep that in the dark. That's meant to be the end game boss that everything leads up to, and its gonna be big. I wont confirm if anyone gets it in comments, but it'll be funny no matter what you guess.

Also yes obligatory oc funny, its reasonable to assume that any fandom I'm apart of will eventually cause a character to spawn in, i gotta get better at leaving the lights on fml. little boi doesn't have name yet, just a robot that Big found damaged in the woods and now he big chilling, magnet fishing to clean lakes.

One last goof of this rewrite AU before I disappear for a bit for moving day.

That other guy is meant to be Ruskin, but his design is something I haven't figured out yet. This was gonna have a bit more to it where Jak is the one to introduce the others to Skyheed, and only then does he acknowledge them. The way he see's it, Jak is the only one who can get him towards his goal, the others don't really matter enough to be acknowledged and the kindness he offers them is just to get on Jak's good side.

Eco's acting the same way, and the whole mechanic of changing dark eco into different colours is a thing, but doing so requires a physical tool that needs to be carried around. Basically you gotta make the choice if you wanna save up for a dark side change or use a certain eco power.

also im gonna bring this up, and its not something i think is true at all, i did like one google search just in case, but anyone think theres any chance, at least in early development, that Skyheed and Phoenix were meant to be related. again, i really doubt it, but it feels like something about their interactions is missing and i need to stop the hatmans getting closer

Legitimate thing that crosses my mind a lot. Like, not gonna ignore that Keira was straight up flirting with the guy who tortured Jak, real wack tbh. They seemingly do go for each other at the end of each game (aside from the Ashelin fling in the 3rd game) so I'm writing them as married cause it makes sense in my mind at this point. Part of me is still bothered tho, obviously, with the way their relationship kept suffering up till Jak X. Some talk had to have gone down somewhere in that timeline, and I'm not entirely sure what that would have been like, but I'd really like to let my au versions have that at least. I might focus on that now while I do some plot figure-out for the au because the eco problem in TLF was dumb. I'm more open to suggestions of how people think this would go down, cause seriously this shit is messy.

Just to be clear, eco is still disappearing/acting wacky in this AU, only dark eco is being unaffected-light eco suffering the most. Jack is perfectly capable of using dark eco.

The pirates end up shooting the plane down. Im not a huge fan of it being Daxters fault, hes a bit of a doofus but not an idiot, and with Jak being able to get the upper hand theres no reason for him to do anything rash.

Phoenix is now stuck trying to figure out if that random pilot he started a fight with is one of the prisoners he dealt with in the past or a new experiment that escaped. Meanwhile Jak is just "god damn brat, i've fought gods and im still having to deal these morons fml"

I got it that this au version of Phoenix is gonna end up abit more awkward about being a pirate, is much more familiar in a military setting and forgets how quickly his fellow pirates would turn against him. He used the hate of Skyheed to rally them to his side but hes far too 'soft' to earn any real respect from the pirates

i do wonder if the story from jak 3 had been continued what the whole Mar plot would go down. would Jak at any point want to follow the same role as his dad, fulfilling whatever timetravel whatsawhosa thats meant to happen or maybe just fully believe thats not something hes worthy of
