Post Songbird Elegy Headcanons I May or May Not Use

- Scott spends a few years as an on-call riot medic for a few mutual aid places in the area. All of his friends hate this. He studied hard on tending to wounds outside of the hospital while traveling so he's very good at it. He tells them he is nonviolent but Edgar is the only one that knows how many fascists he's fully punched out (three).

- Edgar manages to get himself a position as a scout leader. They say they'll do it for one season and then end up with a trans boy scout and end up continuing to lead the group long after the kid graduates to Eagle Scout. The kid mentions Edgar in his speech and they weep for the rest of the night.

- Katy gets super into LARP-ing. SUPER into LARP-ing. She buys an actual sword and learns some basic swordfighting techniques. It hangs over her and Tenzin's bed for "security reasons". She owns one of those big-ass cats and named it something silly like Bingus.

- Tenzin still doesn't drink but she develops a strong interest in mocktails. She is an infinitely better bartender than Edgar ever was or ever could be. Her obsessively meticulous nature allows her to pick up on Flair Tricks pretty easily. She occasionally teaches the bar staff and Edgar and Scott's restaurant and Edgar says they aren't jealous but they very much are.

i don’t know about you guys but the main reason i am still on tumblr in 2024 is BECAUSE it is the most cloutless least influential social media app out there and that is the experience i am after. absolutely none of this will ever translate into significant attention or real success in my life and that is so beautiful.

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

as a child there's nothing cooler than a kid who gets subjected to evil experiments and gains special abilities. it's even cooler if these abilities also cause unfathomable suffering to use/against others. children love stories like this.

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)
