there is truly a Daffy for every occasion. i've been obsessing over Oklahoma! for the past week and wouldn't you know it, the duck already beat me to the punch. but technically i beat me to the duck beating me to the punch since i was the one who saved this panel months ago with the caption of "Daffy is a fan of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma". turns out it is i who is a fan of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma. i am a fan of Daffy as fan of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma

Eddie says he’s looking at houses in El Paso and Buck is fine.

He sits down on the couch with Eddie as the realtor shows them houses and is fine.

He goes home and downs half a bottle of tequila, but he was just having trouble sleeping so it’s fine.

He goes to work, smiles and laughs with the team but he feels like there is a pit in his stomach, which is strange because he’s fine.

Maybe he’s getting sick.

Eddie rents a place in El Paso and Buck offers to help him pack, because that’s what Eddie needs and Buck is fine.

He drops Eddie off at the airport and suddenly he’s 26 and watching his first love walk away.

They hug goodbye, the embrace lingering much longer than a normal hug.

But it isn’t a normal hug, it’s a goodbye hug.

“This isn’t goodbye, okay? I’ll be back with Chris.”

Buck wants to ask when. Wants to be selfish and drop to his knees and beg Eddie to stay.

Instead he says “text me when you land” and then watches as Eddie disappears into the terminal, going where Buck can’t follow.

He leaves the airport feeling numb, driving home in a daze, like his body is on autopilot. It’s not until he turns off the jeep that he realises where home is.

Eddie’s house.

His hands shake as he pulls out his key and unlocks the door. 

The house feels empty. Most of the furniture is still there, but the magic that makes the house feel like home is gone.

Packed up with the man that Buck is realising too late is the love of his life.

He sits down heavily on the couch, the soft cushions doing nothing to comfort him.

Half his heart left 4 months ago and the other half just followed.

Buck takes a deep breath and breaks.

He’s not fine.

I think of the deleted exchange she had with lebron in SJ2, where she says “Looney is who [Bugs] is and what he does. I’m not like that.” and I mourn the executive meddling. It was supposed to be satirical, critical and maybe even a lil more cynical and all Looney… but too many mandated rewrites left a sour taste in my mouth, especially when it comes to Lola. She doesn’t really have a place in the world of LT outside of being Bugs’ arm candy and “Basketball”…..Sj2 coulda had that conversation. poor gal

in honor of Holiday for Drumsticks--perhaps the best Daffy short ever touched by Art Davis--FINALLY receiving a way overdue restoration, i'm reuploading this absolute powerhouse of a sequence. Mel Blanc's voice acting is hypnotic as always, and is matched by equal hypnotism in Bill Melendez's animation, who animates his entire savior complex spiel from 0:15--0:54. Art Davis is one of a handful of directors who has the distinction of animating on his own cartoon, carrying us through the remainder of the clip, and Don Williams starts us off with Daffy's aggrieved lack of seniority. beautiful animation, beautiful voice acting, beautiful characterization, and now, finally, after 75 years, beautiful print!

when i was a kid i had a VHS my dad taped from the TV (which he then printed a plain white cover for) of The Bugs Bunny Road Runner Movie and I watched it over and over again and to this day I love it

it's free on Internet Archive and if you've never seen it, then do give it a watch

it's essentially a collection of (arguably some of the greatest) Looney Tunes shorts - including Duck Amuck - presented as "memories" of the storied life of Bugs Bunny and his friends as he gives an autobiographical interview from his Hollywood mansion

Soooo I got a few writing beans .. just not for any of my current wips 😅. And as usual, the original idea I had has morphed itself into something else entirely haha.

This new wip is a part of my I guess I’m in love series ❤️

Eddie is standing there in a dark maroon long sleeve button-up, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Bucks seen Eddie’s forearms plenty of times before, but tonight he feels like a Victorian woman ten seconds away from fainting at the slightest glimpse of skin. His eyes travel down along Eddie’s forearms until they land on a bouquet of sunflowers clasped in his hand.

Buck’s eyes widen in surprise, gaze lifting to Eddie’s face where a sheepish smile is curving his lips, the beginning of a blush painting the apples of his cheeks.

“Chris said I couldn’t show up to the most important date of my life without flowers.”

He extends the bouquet out to Buck and just like that, all of Bucks doubts and nerves disappear.

Eddie bought him flowers. And not just any flowers, sunflowers - Buck’s favourite.

Eddie bought him flowers and knocked instead of using his key and he’s wearing his good date night cologne and - wait. Buck leans forward and sniffs.

“You’re not wearing the good date night cologne.”

Whatever cologne Eddie is wearing smells similar to his date night colonge, but there is a spicier undertone that mixes with the woodsy scent in the most delicious and mouth watering way. It’s making Buck want to bury his face into Eddie’s neck and inhale until his lungs are burning.
