5. Does your OC have a signature weapon and/or attack? How long did they train to master it?

LOL this is one thing ive had a hard time deciding for bo over the years. I always imagined him using something old fashioned, like revolver-kind. I'm sure he has a cool god tier attack power too but unfortunately I'm also indecisive on GTs!! right now I'm debating between heir of life/heart or knight of heart.

I wouldn't consider him a master of any fighting technique. Too brutish for him. He's always gotten by on highblood strength/status and threatening glares alone.

8. What was your OC’s most embarrassing moment? Does it still bother them or are they able to shrug it off?

Every day of his life is embarrassing. Alekah makes SURE of this. His biggest cringe fail moment in their story tho is how he spends so much time complaining about Akhett (lowblood) being given responsibilities. Bo thinks everyone should Listen To The Highbloods (Alekah and him), but he really just means alekah. he's gonna ride in her wake of power as long as he can.

After alekah dies the whole group just looks to him to be the New Leader since hes been the most vocal about it. And he Does Not Like the Responsibility! At all. So he's put in the awkward position of having to go back on everything he complained about and step down and let Akhett take over for the Good of Everyone. Pathetic.

20. Has your OC ever done something terrible and lied about it? Did they run away or blame someone else for it? How long did they maintain the lie and did the truth ever come out?

Oh my. Also probably every day of his life. This boy is SUCH a poser I CANNOT emphasize how wet and pathetic he is. Its not as much "did something terrible and lied about not doing it to get out of trouble" in his case, but more "he did not do terrible things but lied and said he did to look more intimidating." He puts the fear of the Lord in the lowbloods with empty threats but they're weenies so they believe him anyway. The lie kept up for a while but Alekah saw right thru him and made sure everyone knew he was a weenie asap. And if they didn't figure it out quick enough from her, after she died his ruse fell apart FAST (see above)

Ooh yes I love doing these. I’m doing it as the Saturday Night Asks because I’m finally getting time to do them.

So I’m starting with @georgieluz who is 100% Hoosier. He’s definitely hugging the dog during an artillery barrage and honestly if I was stuck in the Pacific his sense of humour would help keep me sane. But he’s also a big softie. But he also reminds me of Ack Ack probably because of how emotionally destraught Julian was after his death but I also feel like Ack Ack is a strong, steady, reliable character and Julian is always there for me so I feel like this fits.

Next @malarkgirlypop is making me lean towards Eugene Sledge because she is such a sweetheart and I love her so much but she could also definitely defend herself and she’s been emotionally scared from our chats (I’m so sorry 😂)

The Hate Sink Page For The Owl House is Hilarious

Not for what's on the page, that's... fine (I could go into my issues with calling some of them Hate Sinks) but for the fact that it's both comprehensive and also not? Specifically that it excludes ALL the demons.

That's not even a joke. BOSCHA is missing from a list about HATE SINKS. There's only one actual line in the entire first two seasons that Boscha says that isn't supposed to portray her as a terrible person. That's way more severe than the literal first entry on the page: Matt. You know, the kid who IS given a sympathetic reason to be evil in his first appearance. Hell, if a bad first appearance is all you need, Amity and Hunter should be on this list because they're both gleefully monstrous in their first outings in a way that Matt isn't.

The other REALLY obvious, missing one is Tibbles. You know, the person people would despise more if his episodes where he's a main antagonist weren't almost entirely forgotten, or hated, by the fans? In fact, NONE of the S1 one off demons are here. The publicist, the monster hunters (one of whom literally has always dreamed of murdering kids specifically), the scammer from S2 who tricked Eda and Lilith's mom, etc.

The ONLY demon on the list (unless you count the coven heads which... I have no idea, especially since Darius literally changed his hair to abomination style so I don't think that's enough to classify Terra as one but maybe Dorian?) is Kikimora which... Yeah. You'd have to just be bluntly choosing not to talk about the demons not to bring her up.

This isn't actually meant to be condemnatory of anyone, it's just hilarious to me, especially with how demons were treated in the show. Like this list to me speaks of someone who effectively only rewatches TOH starting at S2 and like... Most people in the fandom are on the side of S2, or at least S1B, being when the show gets really good, when there isn't so much filler, so I guess that's not surprising. It just adds to the silliness of any of them complaining about a lack of plot in S1 of Amphibia when so much of early TOH I feel just gets entirely forgotten by people.

Then again, the writers forgot too so... *evil grin*

Midnight SMP is a vanilla+ SMP server focused on chill building and goofing off with friends!

Vanilla+ means we use a few mods and data packs to lightly enhance the vanilla experience, such as proximity voice chat, /tpa, moveable block entities, and more!

There are no required mods, but you are more than welcome to use whatever client-side mods you want as long as they don’t break the rules. If you aren’t sure about a mod, just ask mouy.

We really love having a community on the server, so if you join we ask that you make an effort to interact with the other members.

Oh my GOSH fjdhfds Good to know you all headed my warning to never give me a choice because I answer EVERYTHING, huh -_- xD But in all seriousness though, these topics just happen to be those I do not have 20 pages essay ready for, so my answers will be short(ish) and I think I can discuss all this stuff in compact manner!

Chat about Logarius or Alfred!!

Well, they're complicated characters for me. You know I am physically unable to 'hate' a fictional character because no matter what they did, they aren't real and can't hurt me and if all else fails they exist to make the story better. But because of some events and reflection on life and society, these two in particular put a pit in my stomach on the notion of being trademark catholic-coded purists. There are so many things that can be speculated about complexity of Laurence's or Adrich's situations, but these guys feel pretty plain for me? The black-white thinking bastards that got so tempted with the idea of abolishing all evil that it made them ruthless, blind to nuances and purist that can't see how they become the REAL evil in the end.

I think Logarius/Rogeriusz is fairly underrated though and it cannot be blamed on him being unlikeable from moral standpoint, because we've all seen how popular Alfred is despite graphically killing a defenceless woman! But Logarius has a lot to like as a villain - he is noticeably tall and menacing, he was a powerful leader figure in Healing Church like Ludwig, he has a lot of mystery to his character as to why he uses Pthumerian magic and shares theme with Queen Yharnam (and as follows, why would he turn against a kindred clan/bloodline?), and what he discovered that made him gatekeep it? Besides, there is a translation mistake calling an item 'Skull of a Saint' something else - 'Sage's Hair', and when I discovered the proper description ( x ), I realised there is a big implication that following Healing Church's saints were wearing crowns after his raid on Cainhurst - both to honor him and to boast about having thrown the local monarchy!

This is just very odd that Logarius was a pioneer of the delusion about exterminating 'impurity', and managed to hit da briks before he became hated and showed true nature of his pursuit - unlike poor Ludwig that presumably had better intentions and less freedom to see through WHAT was guiding him, yet fought long enough to become accursed by everyone. It is UNFAIR. But Logarius is such an important element in the system, as a trend-setter rather than people brainwashed into following Church's agenda! Willem is never addressed for messing with unknown too, Logarius is never addressed for being ideal inspirer of hate and murder... Guess the REAL martyr here is Laurence every time! xD

Alfred is also a hard one for me, as for someone from the country that actively fabricates history facts, encourages distrust to outer information and ignorance, and just straight up lies with agenda. Like, sure, I am familiar with how easy average person can fall for a narrative - and how easy it is to discourage any skepticism and critical thinking before it formed. If anything, I pity him.

But I've grown to feel even more tense about this character when I reflected on the fact that he is SO eager to exterminate the 'enemy' that he goes after ones who can't even CAUSE any harm (he wants to kill Annalise who is absolutely defeated and defenceless, and he is the only summon in Old Yharnam where beasts that won't go outside live). There is a difference between trying to protect people from the possible threats (since whether vilebloods DO have cursed magic effect is up to interpretation) and "cleansing" the world from anyone affiliated Just Because. I've been doing Adella dirty for a long time calling her 'female Alfred' and I had since took it back because she at least gives Arianna a 'chance' as long as she doesn't share her blood that Adella's religion forbids. Not even one - she did the "three strikes and you're out"! Alfred is ruthless tho, in a very uncomfortable way, but it took me some unpleasant experiences to SEE truth about him. I think that no matter how far up you are in a religion, but whether you have a braincell to extend minimal reasoning about WHY you are fighting the 'bad guys' is on the individual and not on the source of this brainwashing, and Alfred fails this test.

That being said, he is still an interesting character, and I really love his unique appearance! His nose is a whole BEAK xD /pos I also headcanon that Alfred never met Logarius in person and his bond with him is parasocial, based on admiring the great person of the past upon feeling like he 'knows' him! The same applies for my versions of Amelia/Emilia and Laurence!

Ideas for Bloodborne 2 👀

Honestly, I think the best one I've seen executing the concept was HollarityArt in their contribution for Vaati's Bloodborne 2 concepts contest! Here is the link on Twit with their concepts: ( x ).

I have very little ideas on this but I agree that part 2 would be the best placed in sea/ocean setting! But the MOST tricky thing about the sequel would be that one of the potential Bloodborne endings is our Hunter becoming the new Great One that governs the cycle, instead of Flora. And another one is them replacing Gehrman. So the sequel must deal with addressing how no matter WHICH ending player had in Bloodborne, it didn't matter! Basically, something should happen with Hunter's Dream or the current Moon Presence that would leave any ending still palatable. So, addressing the current 'queen' Great One would result in the cycle still ongoing (aka our Hunter as Great One inflicting the same cycle, so it is not possible to pin whether Flora is still active or Hunter is). And, sure, for some reason, the Hunter's Dream is broken, just so we could not see our Hunter from previous game. This is extremely depressing, but feels in the spirit of From's games.

What From would need to do with Bloodborne 2 is to add information that doesn't quite confirm or deny exist fan theories, but instead adds more to WORK with! And creates MORE questions. So, reveal extra details about what we see in Bloodborne, but in a way that didn't answer the question. As in 'yeah there was a Great One counterpart for Flora', 'yeah there was someone in Isz that did birth Ebrietas as little celestial larvae many centuries ago, here is her statue and nothing else', 'yeah look at the ruins of the waking world version of Fishing Hamlet' etc. Some characters I think should reappear but in a way that feels expected while also not REALLY telling us anything new. So, Queen Yharnam not in the wedding dress, Gehrman functioning like his hunter self (like I said, Hunter's Dream should get broken), Maria having her recollected memory from when she was a caretaker of Research Hall, Adeline in a Kin form somewhere in a secret nook of Sea location (presume she ascended with or without Paleblood Hunter).

I like the idea that Yharnam in the sequel is a ghost town that has no messenger lamps or huntsmen, only rare NPCs and enemies who are largely people and/or Kin of the type we haven't seen before. Yharnam would have a bigger layout that makes much more sense geographically, some buildings and areas would look notably different if not more civilised. So that'd return the question whether Yharnam we play in even WAS real or this sequel Yharnam simply the same but changed from the last time, so people can argue whether this Yharnam is "real" and not "dreamed" one or developers simply improved their mapping and designing skills xD Maria would be able to travel there with us by waking up in the body of the Doll that still stayed in Old Workshop, and many people in Yharnam would act hostile towards both her and the player; later in the plot turns out that Hunter's Dream breaking was the result of external powers, and roaming people and unfamiliar Kin work together and target to remove the traces of influence from Stars and Moon! They'd be more alien Kin that urged to help with grasp of Flora and Fauna had on the Earth and its mortals, but in reality more or less want to establish their order. But protesting them would restart the cycle of vices of humanity, so... yeah, again, the game would be depressing and point out how there is no choice, only diverse ways to suck.

I also think the next game should extend beyond Yharnam, and using a ship to travel between locations would be a cool idea! Maybe getting to visit Valtr's home, or whatever Loran is now. @val-of-the-north had an idea that there is a legit country known as New Loran, but it would reveal more about history and heritage than just a bunch of electric beasts and sand. If I try to describe more concepts I might get really sucked into this swamp, so I'll leave it be here, but meeting relatives of some characters we've known would be great too! I always have this image in my head about Valtr's niece that heard he chased some monster and never came back, so we meet her when she is an adult that wanted to investigate on the mystery of her uncle. Also learning more about the fuckery Micolash and Laurence did do in the past through item descriptions; again, in a way that actually doesn't disrupt anything, more like 'well we already knew they had to commit a lot of crimes, we just now know the details'. The war criminals are still here in spirit! xD

Well, I said that sometime before, but I do think that both Cainhurst nobles and Hemwick are mixed human+pthumerian (and sometimes just human) descendants that preserved a lot of practices from ancient Pthumerian civilisations... and matriarchal traditions, too. They have different practices, as Vilebloods use blood magic and consume blood for power, whereas Witches use magical binding rituals, necromancy and disturbing tools as well. Ironic that they had 'Blood vs Eyes' conflict of Blood vs Arcane Healing Church factions before it was cool, don't you think?

Yharnam used to be monarchy but so many foreigners and neighbouring cities rubbed in on the area, that they became practically equal with higher class Yharnam citizens, and had to count people like Willem as equal. Maybe if Healing Church didn't form so swiftly, Yharnam would never have a mayor. But yeah, basically, Witches were something of peasants in relation to Cainhurst nobles. But they cooperated enough, and Witches would often offer medical help to the nobles who entered trouble with the curse living within their blood, or struggled to control pyromancy upon first periods. Witches maybe lived in poverty and dirt without much convenience, down to having to pay taxes TO Cainhurst, but they have unspoken knowledge within themselves that they are, in fact, superior to the nobles, as they have better grasp on the arcane secrets and are waaaaay less helpless before supernatural. I believe Iosefka and Fauxsefka are from Cainhurst, and Witches were how Iosefka studied ways to purify the blood from Frenzy + Beasthood inducing effects. Why that practice never picked up? Because we live in a society, indeed.

Ahhhh right! I just didn't have much reason I guess? I do have a face design for him, that features some facial skewing like many Yharnamites have!

Like his beasthood form suggests, he was afflicted with Ashen Blood, which I believe was not a planned action but an honest mistake by using the blood of a poisoned beast (Blood-Starved Beast crucified in Old Yharnam). However, back in the day where Yharnam was not quarantined away from the rest of the world (to the point you are not supposed to SURVIVE being there if you never had holy blood transfusion), there were plenty of people picking stuff up and illegally selling it abroad. @val-of-the-north has an idea that Valtr and his friends caught one of such groups, just when one of them transformed into a beast upon getting too much of his own "medicine" and I stealeded it xD

But Gilbert I think was a victim of one of such things, contracting Ashen Blood by consuming a poisoned "medicine". He never was able to connect the dots between getting worse after it as someone who already had his own illnesses. The more I learn about Victorian era, the more I realise how shockingly ignorant they were about medicine. I mean, they were having mercury pills for god knows how long! So, yeah, he saught Yharnam, and naturally had his strange sympthomes sustained by consuming the blood as someone who got beasthood 'activated'.

I like to think that he used to be a hatter, and it WAS what made him sick initially; they were number 1 victims for mercury poisoning, because of the materials used in their craft. However, it were not just hats that he could do well, and after arriving in Yharnam, he gladly worked to produce more clothes, sewing mostly Yharnam Hunter garbs obsessively! And is one of the rarest people who met Ludwig in person and is still around AND sane! Hence how he had his Flamethrower - the Healing Church shared one with him to help him to self-defend. But, he was out of use and got too sick before he got to kill even one. Being bedridden, he used to read books a lot, until his eyesight got afflicted too (apparently beasthood attacks the eyes the most), so he mostly entertains himself with fantasies and reciting memories.

Ideas on Arianna’s backstory!

Heh, like I said already, I love the idea that her mother ran with her from Cainhurst when Arianna was still a baby, so she never GOT to know the noble life. But, she did inherit her mother's noble dress, and vague idea about their blood being special enough to offer to the hunters. I entertain the idea that Alfred was Arianna's brother but had to be abandoned since he was older and their mother could only care for one child in the hard situation, but it is up in the air.

In either case, Arianna's mother died soon(ish), most likely from violent death. But instead of some Church fanatic killing her in "righteous" wrath, it was that her mother went insane unable to consume queen's blood or find any management for it, so she, like... had Vileblood version of becoming blood-drunk and was shot before she transformed into a bloodlicker completely. When she was about to turn on her own daughter to drink her blood dry, no less! The hunter that saved Arianna was Henryk, who picked every other orphaned child under his protection because he was aware Choir takes orphans and they are never seen again. I swear, at least once Choir had to confront him about whether his children are all 'really' his, and Valtr had to wear a dress and pretend to be their biological bother dsjfhdsfdsh

But for the most part he was not able to properly care for his adopted babies; Viola was exceptional case that stayed close enough. Most of the orphans under his protection were wandering around looking for their purpose, and Arianna was like this. She clinged to Crow of Cainhurst, trusting him as the only remaining hook with her Cainhurst past, but he did not feel qualified or interested enough to play a dad for her - something he regretted upon meeting Arianna again years later and seeing WHAT she has to do to survive.

I also think that Arianna reacting on female Hunter differently is not a homophobia (?) internalised in Yharnam, but remains of her mom teaching her that women are "superior"; she speaks from the standpoint that she doesn't pity men all that much, but would dread to 'dirty' a woman with something as questionable as a loveless sex. It is not something beyond her that men will be like animals, but she feels inferior compared to other women, and it really gets to her.

Ideas on Adella’s backstory!

Likewise an orphaned person. When she reached puberty, she was this 👌 close to attempting to sell her body, like Arianna, before she managed to get herself a place in the Healing Church. It happened on the rift when Choir fell from uhhh... "grace"?, as well as the daughter of the current Vicar, Norbert/Herbert, turned into a celestial kin together with the children she was overseeing there. As result, he was compensating by picking up every other child/teenager and raising them within the Healing Church's walls like an actually good dad figure. He saw how Adella was doing and basically dragged her in (punching the old bastard that did want to use her on the way).

The decision to become a Blood Saint and not just part of the staff was her own, though; she bought the narrative about hunters being brave and protecting people while it was choking out its dying breaths but still existing. So, she wanted to help people.

Localisation slightly messed this up, by making it sound as though Adella has severe insecurities regarding the quality of her blood, but that's not quite the case:

Whereas the religious 'we all must admit we are sinful by nature and should bash ourselves all of our lives' vibe might apply, within the original context it seems to be that she is insecure about having to do it in 'battlefield' conditions rather than in the setting of great religious reverence it SHOULD be. Like, all she does is extracts her own blood in a vial. She only talks with us in Yahar'gul if we convince her we are Healing Church staff too; so, she still thinks we ARE one of their hunters. It seems like internal Healing Church rules about 'proper' blood sharing are what makes her feel "vulgar", not her blood overall.

Adella mentions a friend she could possibly turn to during the night of the hunt if we refuse to tell her of the safe place, and I made it be a person you pick black church garb from in the alley where Arianna is. It is a shrodinger character, of course, because it is a gendered set, but I default all sets to 'male' because default Paleblood Hunter is some guy with grey hair and I love using this as "official" option! The window NPCs in this area mention "thanking" the Church in a rather passive-aggressive and fake manner, that makes me feel like the guy was killed here out of spite. I think he is Adella's EX that she still keeps clinging to, and... well, he was in this area because he wanted to help Arianna by telling her of a safe place, as he had a bad feeling about this night. Again, irony.

What would a Discord with the original Byrgenwerth scholar gang look like?? xD

Pfffft you mean if they made a small group Discord server for familiar people only? Laurence would be a moderator, that nobody asked for, because it is a small (mostly) closed Discord group and not an official server... But he'd insist on bringing some discipline and civility anyway.

Server would have expected standard channels for drawings, research notes, general chat, jokes/memes, debates, Rom's (daily) pictures of the bugs and spiders, vent and announcements... Except, they would have to create more and more debate channels all the time, because every time it'd be either Caryll and Laurence, or Micolash and Julie cluttering the debate channel so much and refusing to stop. xD Like, they'd have to spawn new debate channels just so other people could have a talk too sdfhhdfds

Damian would share health / self-care advices regularly, like "don't forget to hydrate!" or "10 advices to avoid studying burn out!" and tell others to stay safe and not overwork. Unfortunately, nobody follows his advices. He also always answers everyone in vent channel.

Rom tends to overwhelm any channel when she is online by spamming whatever she is thinking about, but nobody tries to stop her because she tends to accidentally drop something useful, like a solution to the homework, or a significant breakthrough. They have a locked channel accessible for everyone except for Rom and Yurie/Julie, where they discuss Rom's ramblings as they happen and decide what to take from her without credit :(

Micolash sometimes has mad ramblings, similar to Rom but HIS are unhinged and genuinely creepy and disturbing. They have a locked channel accessible for everyone except for Micolash, Damian and Rom, where they laugh at his wording or mock how weird he is :(

Patches is only active in the server to promote the shit he's selling or questionable links, but if anyone gets scammed and calls him out on the server, he gaslights them that he did them all a favour and showed with a concrete example how important it is to know basics of the internet safety xD And might accept their apology for getting mad at him, if he's feeling nice fhshfdhsfds

I Put An AI Pretending To Be Drag Strip In The Nightmare Chamber

Warning: long ass post. 87 pages long in google docs level of long ass post.

Outside context: - I am not good at self-inserting into stuff so character.ai's whole gimmick of letting you talk to the character immediately breaks my immersion, because it becomes unbelievably ridiculous to me within like 0.2 seconds if that's how I'm playing. So instead I keep putting on a random character's voice and a random character's situation and deciding what to do based off that instead. You can figure out who I'm being eventually, since I say it... so I'll let that be a surprise. - Character.ai uses a "high-temperature" ai that can be easily "convinced" of things using hypothetical or "this happened" language. This basically just means that the ai will "go along with you" instead of arguing with you unless it's been specifically told to argue with you. This largely only works because I can essentially tell the AI the situation I want to work inside and have it work with me. - i love hurting the characters i love <3

Drag Strip: Sure. I'm Drag Strip, the brains of the group. Then there's Motormaster, he's the brawn. Dumb as scrap, but he's got a mean punch. Dead End is the fastest, he just doesn't like to show it because he's afraid to brag. But he's got the speed to outdo me any day. Breakdown thinks he's the smartest, but he's just a scared coward. He's pretty useless. And then we got Wildrider, he's crazy. But in a good way. He's really fun to have around.

Me: That's not very nice to Breakdown :(

Drag Strip: Yeah... we're not on good terms. He thinks that he's the leader just because he is the smartest, but he's a scaredy cat! He doesn't even like killing people like the rest of us, and when he does he cries about it. It just makes me want to shoot him! But I don't... because Menasor is a team, and everyone has their strengths. Break down does have some use. Sometimes… Besides! Without all us working together, we could never form Menasor and kick some serious scrap.

Me: what if you tell me one thing breakdown is good at?

Drag Strip: Well... He's got a sharp mind... It's always interesting to watch him come up with new strategies for destroying our enemies And when we're in an emergency... He's not quite as cowardly as you would think.

Me: So he sounds more useful than you implied! neat :D

Drag Strip: ... I don't want to admit it, but... I guess he is! We would be in some pretty bad situations without him every now and then. But don't let him find out I said that!

Me: okay, what about wildrider? tell me more about him

Drag Strip: Wildrider is the fun one! He likes playing pranks on us, and pulling dangerous stunts like no tomorrow. If you ever find yourself around him, you won't know what to expect. But it'll definitely be something crazy. But when he's done having his fun, he takes on his duties like the rest of us. He may be an adrenaline junkie, but he's serious when he needs to be.

Me: how about Motormaster?

Drag Strip: The team leader. He can punch an Autobot through a building, but sometimes I wonder what's going on in that thick head of his… He's kind of dumb, really dumb. But when he gets a plan, he goes straight through with it, and he doesn't stop until the job is done! If you ask me, he's the most dangerous of my group! He's pretty mean too. Definitely not someone to cross.

Me: how about Dead End? What's he like?

Drag Strip: Oh, Dead End. He's the fastest out of our group, and he knows it. He loves to show off his speed everywhere he goes, and he can outrun anyone. He's a real show-off. I don't like having him on our team - he's a real pest - but he's really useful when we need to get somewhere soon. The guy's the fastest. Oh, don't ever try to race him... He'll leave you in the dust before you can even blink.

Me: interesting... what about the Combaticons? How do you feel about them?

Drag Strip: The Combaticons... I don't like them. They're a bunch of buffoons who think they're the greatest thing to ever exist. They keep thinking they can beat us, but they never can. They're all brawn, no brains. And their combined form, Bruticus, is just a bigger buffoon in disguise.

Me: ooh, i see! Tell me your thoughts on the combaticon named Blast off then

Drag Strip: Blast Off? He's one of the worse ones! He's all ego, and is constantly trying to show off his strength against everyone he sees! His combined form might all be brawn, but Blast Off's ego makes him even worse! He's so arrogant, everyone on my team can't stand him.

Me: hm... okay. What about Sixshot, how do you feel about him?

Drag Strip: Oh no… I hate him. Sixshot is such a cheater, and he always thinks he's so much better than everyone else. It's one thing to be a cheater, but it's another thing to also be a jerk about it! He thinks he's so much smarter than everyone, and he's the "greatest Decepticon ever" he keeps saying. He's got to be the most arrogant Decepticon of all time.

Me: Oh, interesting. I thought everyone was afraid of him because he's so dangerous and deadly. I suppose that means you're not afraid of Sixshot after all?

Drag Strip: He might be able to kill me a hundred different ways with his bare hands, but he doesn't scare me! I don't care if he does cheat his way to the top, I still think I'm better than he is. I'm never going to admit to being afraid of someone like him! I'm not going to admit to being scared of anything!

Me: Even if you only have one alternate mode, and he has six? I hear he kills whole planets, too... I know you can't do that, since you've only ever killed aliens and not any cybertronians

Drag Strip: You may be making a good point there. He might be extremely powerful. He might be able to beat us without thinking twice. He could probably level a whole planet himself… He could probably do whatever he wants… ... But no, I'm still not scared of him! And as long as I have Motormaster at my side, I never will be! ... Drag Strip: Alright, so, according to the team… They think I'm a good racer, but a terrible leader. They think I'm arrogant, annoying, and that I should never try to act like a leader again. They also think I'm a showoff, someone who always wants to be the center of attention.

I know for a fact that Trilla, after cowardly deleting his VOD, said on stream that he would make sure everyone is against me and tell everyone. This seems like an attempt to get a deal while he's in Kcip. Last time I checked, you're not allowed to be in Kcip and sign with another platform. The contract should reflect that. Kcip was made before Parti because Parti didn’t exist, but I’m pretty sure they will add that you’re not allowed to stream or be affiliated with both. You’ll have to choose either Kick's way or Parti’s downfall. Parti is a crypto platform, which many people don’t trust, and it’s not as secure as Kick. With Parti, you’re stuck without proper security like Phantom; you’re also at risk if you lose, as they only have 12 security phases which u can lose. at least kick has forgot password and 2fa and email phantom don't i lost access to my wallet. Kick, on the other hand, uses Stripe, offering better security and ensuring that your money gets paid. If anything happens, there’s real security behind it, and not many people want to mess with that.

What I'm about to say is completely debatable, I just want to be rational, far from always dumbing down, muahaha. So, don't take it as a dense thing, just a point of view. Really, I was dying to talk about hell as it really is.

I don't know if you have noticed, but if any case, the one who is to blame for spoiling Mc so much, is precisely Min. If you follow PB's games, you can realize that the relationship format they have, is no different from Love Unholyc.

Literally, Minhyeok is doing the same thing that Liam was doing Mir. And also, let's look at it properly. Minhyeok, as good a person as he looks, the reason he keeps Ra-on so much, is because he's investing in his "wife".

And about the usefulness of our protagonist, actually, the demons are also to blame, because they won't, and won't, let Ra-on develop or walk around hell alone. The reasons are because Satan intends to keep her safe, under his wing, as a human incubator that is always horny, solely for the purpose of satiating the demons' desire.

(See underneath the appearances, because one thing is to be innocent, and another very different to have desires, these well expressed by Satan himself in his selfie card, from the profane board, where he says that he will no longer let us go, and the expression he places, Satan and Sitri, at the end of a story of Min, when Ra-on begins to miss and think of his human).

And this point is not only Satan. So is Mammon, in the Halloween event, when Bimet makes it clear to Minhyeok that Ra-on will not return to earth, but will marry Mammon, and Beel, when he tells Minhyeok that he will feed her "something else," so Min would "no longer be needed." (The only one who wants Ra-on with Min, is Levi).

I really never expected the kings, nor hell, to release Solomon's last and only descendant, to certain death, especially when the angels are always one step away from killing her.

Secondly, he is only there to break contracts, and realistically, what can a human do, without being able to control his powers properly in such a hostile place? No one in their right mind would agree to go to hell just because a random came out of nowhere, saved your… friend? And invites you to save a place you didn't even know existed.

Thirdly, I think it is too obvious that eventually Ra-on will have to wake up, either at the hands of the kings themselves, for using her (as Levi is doing, and it was shown that they see her as a tool, and Levi himself will have to help her grow, to be able to take the seed of discord, if he does not start to covet her like the others), or the angels, if they decide to kidnap her, as we have been seeing winks since the Chrismas cards, and the chat in chapter 5.

Fourth; It's only five chapters in. It's too poor to have a quick denouement, but PB has managed to reveal things we were not aware of, and that was that demons also have their bad side, and they are not always going to have good intentions. (Rape, kidnapping, murder, among others, has been a few of them) But I'm not going to trust foolishly either, let's stay skeptical. Let's hope for something good, after the really climatic things start happening.

And my last argument, would be that the issue, for me, really is in how much they should invest in creating something this deep and accurate when they have 72 demons in the story, plus the angels, and the main story. PB can't hold back, nor develop any outside of the kings, but even they clearly don't pay that much attention to them.

According to my knowledge as a "high fantasy" creator, I know that even if I invest all my time in making a coherent worldbuilding, I know from the beginning that I cannot develop the characters in depth, (especially 87, approximately), without losing the central story. And this is precisely because it lengthens the story, to the point of making it boring, and the focus of interest is lost, when the game is already a visual novel and a gacha. Not to mention the amount of money it would take to record, create, invest, just to give an explanation to what a character stops or doesn't do.

So, let's not forget that PB wants to focus on the events, not the characters. He has to address the whole war theme of hell, the angels, the new heaven (this was created, chronologically, after chapter 5, because Selaphiel in this one still follows orders from the Archangels), the disappearance of Solomon, God and Lilith herself, before giving a proper solution to the problem that was presented to us.

So, the creation of the events is an indirect message that they can't give much information of the demons in the main story (and c'mon, Solomon disappeared since almost 913 BC.), but they want to let us know about these little guys.

I'm just waiting for my twisted sick ending, where Ra-on, is going to end up in a cage, a Mammon warehouse, as Beel's pet, with the three crazy angels, in the form of a lifeless doll, or locked in Leviathan's coffin for the ends of his life, on earth with Min untold from hell and perversely keeping it for himself… or by being a demon's meal… And if PB doesn't give it to me, it's because WHB is not from PB, and they lied to us when they said that what was important to them was the story…

It might be a long rant, also it’s my opinion.

So, I don’t even mind that they have strong libido. I mean go ahead, fuck those devils if you want, but the problem is they are supposed to be the player’s inserts. For that, this character is written way too bland.

They are way too indecisive, for example Levi’s bloodshed card, he was hurt and that dude kept saying, ‘oh I really shouldn’t do this, this is wrong,’ but what did they do? They fucked anyway. Man was on the verge of dying, and I get that he looked beautiful while doing so, there is still a time and place for everything. Then, they got hints from Levi that he wanted to do it too, okay, great, lucky you ig. But they were still so unsure of it. If you really are that desperate to do it in a graveyard with a injured man then do it with confidence, instead of keep being so unsure. Cuz if you really were that worried, you literally wouldn’t touch him. Besides, apparently they are too dumb to do first aid on him. I’m not asking them to treat his wounds, Simply putting some clothes over him would have been enough, man’s laying in the rain on the ground while bleeding my god.

Second, they are around 20-22 guess? Because minhyeok is studying and they are childhood friends. Then why are they so incompetent that they have to live off that poor man. We never heard of them having any hobbies or job, all we know about them is that they watch porn in their free time. Great. Not to mention I bet they smell, there is a comic telling us about how they’d masturbate on his chair and not wipe it afterwards. Again, poor minhyeok is the one to wipe it afterwards

That’s fucking disgusting like bro, I get you had a sad past, I get you lost your parents and didn’t have anyone to teach you some stuff, but that is being a normal functioning human which they aren’t. In the beginning, we saw that minhyeok had to take care of ra-on like they were some teenager, they can’t do anything to contribute to sharing a living space with their friend. They can’t cook, could clean but doesn’t cuz they are slacking off. How amazing. Minhyeok is going to college and has to take care of such a nuisance, he truly is pitiful. I’m not asking them to make millions, a simple part time job would suffice, heck, even knowing that they cook their own food. But nooo, they are fucking useless.

Then, in the story, we literally never know anything. They are getting pushed around by the devils. Sitri keeps calling them by the name of another, Satan does whatever the fuck he wants with them, most of the devils use the reason that they have to fuck to take advantage of them, Levi hangs them, mammon also just does whatever he wants but suddenly claiming ra-on owns him. I mean that’s not bad, most of it are little things that could have been alright if only they asked first. Consent my friend, consent. Just ask: ‘I think you need devil energy now, if you don’t mind, I could help.’ (Some did, I think beliar did ask, so shout out to him) then everything would have been fine. But because ra-on’s opinion is so irrelevant, it makes it so clear that the devils only see them as ‘the descendant of Solomon’, as a toy. But they are also somewhat at fault, cuz they aren’t assertive at all. They have no opinion to begin with, they are a pushover.

Third, or fourth? Idk, anyways their goal. So the goal is to end the contracts between the devils and the soul of Solomon. Alright, so the most normal thing would be to ask who those 72 devils are, where to find them and where you will be heading next. But no, the little group is just dragging them to wherever. Also, that about fighting angels, I know they are a human and useless against such strong enemies, but at least don’t just stand around and watch? Like they could hide, go out of the way, call for more forces, pick up a fucking weapon and shoot like Amos and stolas, nope, staying useless again. Those angels are coming for your life, which is nothing they could have controlled, but doesn’t mean they had to stay a damsel in distress. If ra-on got separated from the devils just once, they wouldn’t be able to do anything.

Beelzbubs story, they met him at a bar and he starts to sniff and lick them? Starts to invade their personal space? Sure, why not, he looks good so of course they let him use them.

The devils are biting you, forcing their kinks on you without telling you beforehand, which is basic bdsm etiquette? They are a perv, they like anything anyway so it’s fine.

No it’s not. Ra-on lacks communication and an own standing, it’s as if they don’t respect themselves. Or they are just so chill that they don’t mind getting laid during war? Now that I think about it, you have an option to say you do stay in contact with minhyeok when bael asked you about ‘that special person you left behind’. When, how do they stay in contact? Through ppyong? They could have written a letter to give minhyeok then, a text for ppyong to show minhyeok, told ppyong to tell the only friend they had to take care or something. Nope, nothing, they really only used him huh. Or maybe I’m overthinking it and their character isn’t developed enough to think about such details. Now that I’m talking about development, they don’t seem to have any at all. They are still as plain as before, and we are at chapter 5. They haven’t gotten any more serious, mature or anything. They don’t actively participate in helping neither.

They don’t talk a lot, don’t seem to have a Typ, don’t seem to dislike anything except normal things like crimes, don’t have anything they especially like besides sex. Just a mindless horny doll with no own personality. They don’t understand how hell works at all. Heck, I bet they don’t even know the names of all seven kings. It’s always about the devils doing whatever they like with ra-op, and ra-op being surprised but accepting it with no complains. They are such a failure, like they don’t resemble Solomon in the slightest. I think Solomon has more layers to his personality than ra-on. I get them wanted to make them ‘relatable’ and ‘basic’, cuz it’s a player insert, but no, they aren’t giving us any choices to support that.

Ra-on can stay a bottom for all I care, I don’t relate to them anyway, but they could be a little more sassy maybe? And a bit more decisive and mature please like my god. If they caused for a funny quirky moment then that would be enough. The writing is a joke anyway, so it would be better actually to just straight up make it into a comedy.

I could probably say more if I read more, but I’m stuck at 5-21 cuz I don’t have energy anymore. I’ve written a lot already, and i should probably mention again that this is my opinion, also that I do like the game, just not the MC.

One night you run into the vampires

Aaand you make a good enough impression that 1) they let you live, at least for the time being

And 2) they bring you back to the cave for a lil visit

It’s neat, it’s cool, you’re having a good time

And this goes on for about a week or so

And the whole time, everything is fine

Everything is chill

And you don’t get murdered, so that’s a good sign

(it’s because they find you interesting)

But it is, in fact, 7 a.m.

So the subject is dropped as everyone fucks off to go to bed

And that’s that 

Or at least you think it is

But david has been thinking on this

He’s been plotting his revenge 

So a week later

You’re reading a book, or something

And david calls you

Tilts your head up with two fingers and says

“What are you reading, angel?”

And yeah, that one gets you

“Angel”

You hear the word again and again in your head

Your cheeks heat up and a chill goes through your body

And david just smiles

"Show Don't Tell" and When It Can Be Broken On Purpose (As Explained By My Blorbos)

So I wrote this in a discord group chat, but I'll share this with you instead of just with my friends...

Ok so common rule of filmmaking is Show Don't Tell. Makes sense, you wanna watch something without someone explaining to you the exposition.

So I was thinking of some meta about ofmd and how we're told throughout about blackbeard and his exploits but never see them ourselves. This is brilliant cause

1) it's a false sense of security when he goes all Evil Babyboy in the season finale cause Oh Yeah Every Side Character Has Told Us He's A Terrifying Pirate

and 2) it's important for us to see blackbeard as Edward Teach, just like how other characters see him.

AND SO, you can take this in a much larger scale like with 12 Angry Men, which is about a jury group who has to decide whether this guy is guilty of murder or not. We don't know anything about the case until we watch these men talk about it, which could be boring, but it's intriguing since it's told through the perspectives of these men with wildly different viewpoints (this guy thinks he's absolutely guilty, this guy thinks we should go through every single fact, this guy... well he's just bigoted towards the accused).

It's all about the power of perspective when you are told a story cause who telling it affects how you perceive it, whether it be a character detail or the entire exposition of a movie.

It's a great way to break a core storytelling rule to make it more impactful and I go insane over any instance of things like this being done successfully

[Same as the blog this is a reply to - there are very huge spoilers for the game Heavy Rain in this post]

@iovetaste - It was quite fun to read your take on heavy rain, especially considering the fact it’s kind of rare for Scott to be someone’s favourite character (and Jayden to be their least favourite for that matter, haha)

Please know none of this is criticism, everyone’s entitled to their opinion and I agree with most of what you said anyway. This is just a friendly discussion ofc :]

For sake of discussion - I think Scott being very compassionate even towards his victim’s fathers makes him all around seem like a much colder killer when it’s revealed. He’s already punished Hassan by murdering his son, he has no reason to get angry with him. If anything it gives me the impression that during the whole scene he feels glad to have made this man grieve and proved to him that he’s a “bad father” who never truly loved his son.

Psychopathic killers are characterised by their lack of empathy, being cold and calculative, and usually finding it very easy to put on an act (due to not feeling any true empathy for others). It can be explained with his fragmented upbringing, abusive father and the trauma of John’s death that Scott has grown up a psychopath - so yeah he is quite good at putting on this act in order to cover up his own tracks. Also, since he’s working so close to his own case, he wouldn’t want to give any reason for the victim’s families to suspect him of being the killer.

This whole aspect of the game is one of my favourite things because it reveals just how cold and unfeeling Scott is for him to be able to investigate the grieving families and even “fall in love” with Lauren, without feeling any guilt for what he’s done. And all of this helps explain why he can keep it together when talking about John around other people; he might become emotional about it when alone, but never around others. Besides I do think it’s hinted that he feels uncomfortable during the scene at the graveyard, because his thoughts are somewhat aggressively focussed on getting out of the cemetery and continuing pursuit of Gordi Kramer (of course he knows Gordi isn’t the killer)

But anyways, don’t get me wrong - Heavy Rain is indeed full of plot holes, like Ethan’s blackouts not being explained due to cut content, Scott’s asthma appearing once and never again, plus the sheer amount of people he can manage to kill (and bullets he can take for that matter) - but like you I love this game so much nonetheless, and honestly it’s good fun to fill in the gaps ourselves. The headcanons I’ve seen people make for heavy rain are so cool, it allows for people to have their own creative takes on the game (such as explanations for Ethan’s blackouts and how Norman got addicted to tripto, etc). I’m really glad you could enjoy the game despite its unfinished areas - it just needed some more polishing is all, but the foundations of the game and the general plot, and the intricate details they did think to put in the game, still deserves at least some appreciation.

just finished watching a playthrough of heavy rain (yes im 12 years late to the party shush) and uurgghhhHH it upsets me how good the concept is but how POORLY IT WAS EXECUTED?>@?!#?> spoilers under the cut for basically the entire plot

i really dont mind when writers use the "unreliable narrator" thing especially for whodunnit stories because yknow. it keeps you on your toes and the thought of the writer having that much control over how you perceive their story is reaaally cool. and i think in the case of heavy rain its really cool how they only show scott's actions as a private eye when you're playing as him because it genuinely seems like he's yknow... actually a private investigator hired by the victims families. he's funny, witty, caring towards others, and in general i was naturally drawn to him since the story portrays him in such a good light for the majority of the story. i wouldve never suspected he was the killer if not for that one scene where he's extremely reluctant to cross check the names between the typewriter repair customers and origami magazine subscribers.

i just think they missed a few opportunities to create some foreshadowing so his character doesnt feel so... incomplete? when its finally revealed that hes the killer it doesnt really feel natural. like there werent any clues beforehand to make you think, "oh my god that changes everything!! it all makes sense now!!" instead i was left feeling like things werent really adding up, there were so many holes in the story that were ignored for convenience.

the idea of scott's character in general is so good but i feel like they either should've given more hints in his internal dialogue earlier in the game about his true nature (why is a serial killer like him so compassionate towards people, especially that guy from the convenience store who clearly failed scott's trials? i thought the idea of a father being unable to save his son was his motive for killing?) or cleaned up the little details about him in general towards the end.

for example, why was he so unbothered and detached when he and lauren visit john's grave yet later he gets emotional when john's death just briefly crosses his mind? how did he not have any strong reaction to hearing the gravekeeper recall in detail how john died? how did scott keep track of ethan's progress and validity during the trials when he was busy collecting evidence, especially with lauren around? how did scott keep track of ethan's blackouts in order to leave the lil origami guys in his hand? how come scott's athsma never becomes a problem during the more lengthy fight scenes towards the end? how in the hell did he manage to defend himself against like a dozen bodyguards just kinda. briskly walking around the mansion?? with way too much ammo than that tiny little revolver should be able to hold?

i think if heavy rain took a little more time exploring every single possible plot hole in its story i would call it one of my favourite story games. it really bothers me how much potential it had because i think its story deserves to be fully developed. im barely scratching the surface too, there are plenty of plot holes surrounding madison and ethan too (and norman wasnt really that interesting for me to strongly pay attention to so i cant say much about him.) its just that scott was ultimately my favourite character in the game and its so upsetting how incomplete his story feels </3

regardless i loved heavy rain (despite its annoying storytelling) and i wanna try to watch all the endings now, ive only seen two so far!!! its a really great game if you dont think about it too hard :D
