Hey, here's a fun thing I just learned. You know those obnoxious AI summaries that show up first on mobile Google searches? The ones that are untrustworthy and generally problematic?

I've been just typing in "-ai" to get searches without those, but I've heard that Google is going to disable that soon. Whether that's true or not, there's a much funnier way to avoid those summaries.

The Google AI system doesn't like ye olde F-word, for reasons that I'm not going to question. Have two screenshots:

imagine dottore w a chronically ill reader, who struggles with walking and movement in general. he would be so nice and soft :((( as a doctor hes seen it all. he would grab them stuff when they need it, get things set up and packed if they went out, and he would know every solution to any ache or pain :(( <33 i know hes just such a sweetheart to his favorite patient :3

Dottore is more than aware that you have trouble moving around and ensures you don't tire yourself more than you have to. His biggest solution to this was to create a method of high-speed communication - in other words, there's a button in your room that sends an alarm to the main lab (which at least one segment is always there) and then they can communicate with each other as to who will go to assist you. Of course, this is mostly used for medical reasons, however... you have used it to bring a segment over for some hugs and kisses if you need a recharge. Although you may feel guilty for calling them over so much, especially with their work, Dottore reaffirms that he'd prefer for you to do that rather than accidentally hurt yourself. Even though his words may seem gruff at times and you two have your arguments, he will never skip out on this duty to you.

Also, he and the segments have also become proficient in setting up dates in the lab. Despite how he's content to remain in his lab, he's smart enough to understand that life can get bleak when you have trouble moving around and can't always access the things you want to do. Therefore Dottore makes sure to choose activities that are always comfortable for you. Zandy favors fun board games. Everyone else likes chess - maybe four in a row too. (Has he gotten tipped off by Columbina a few times about bubble baths, the latest foreign book you wanted to be imported, a meal you've been craving, a new album of Radiant Spincrystals to listen to together? Perhaps.)

In all honesty, Dottore would prefer if you just stayed in the lab so he can keep a constant eye on you, but he knows that would lead to more unhappiness - so he just makes sure a segment always accompanies you. (Said segment gets kicked out if you happen to visit Columbina though.) The scholar also tries to install things where he can, mainly in your and his rooms, such as rails near your bed and bath so it's easier to get up. If you use any sort of mobility aids, you can bet he'll add some kind of feature to it too. I wager a button that shoots blue fireballs. Although many would say his knowledge was gained unethically, he has no qualms about continuing even if it makes you feel one percent better.

HARD agree on your last post. The whole of it. And meanwhile, you have Jimin crying happy tears because he sees a grandpa pushing the wheelchair of his old wife while looking content, and Jungkook being so emotionally open and vulnerable with us. Like... are we even talking about the same people ?

I think a lot of the disconnect apart from the blatant homophobia/fetishization also comes from people viewing the military more like summer camp rather than a government institution built on forced conscription, isolation, and bloodshed. They are there to learn how to kill. How to defend their country from potential attacks. They had to give up everything they know and love to live with strangers and to view their family during approved days off. It’s a loss of mobility, a loss of personal choice, a loss of overall independence.

I don’t really think the members are preoccupied with sexual proclivities. And if President Y*** had been successful with his martial law attempt, they could’ve been held in the military indefinitely… so no, I don’t really view this entire experience as “fun” or “cool” — or god forbid “sexy” by the accs that salivate over them in a required uniform.

These boys have far bigger fish to fry.

Maybe certain toxic taekookers thought the military would be like that one comic by humanlou— whatever their name is. But the truth is far more grim.

I mean hell, have you SEEN Namjoon’s Instagram posts? That man is basically gnawing at the bars of his conscripted “prison” like a rabid dog. Hoseok even told Jin he was willing to do anything for their RUN episode as long as they didn’t end up back in Gangwon-do (where he was stationed).

All of this is just… rough. Drives me right up the wall.

Can I just say I think a lot of ACOTAR stans are baffled that the series never garnered as much attention as the Empyrean series especially with Onyx Storm? The fact that Onyx Storm is breaking sales records to this extent is INSANE. And I bet some of them are disappointed deep down, already wanting to mobilize a mob to do even better when the next ACOTAR book comes out.

But the thing is, in my humble opinion, ACOTAR just missed the mark especially since both SJM and BB rely so heavily on Feysand. Yes, ACOSF was still successful by any measure in sales, but it’s been four or five years, and the last CC book did NOT receive great reviews. SJM and BB must be worried af after basically doing nothing to promote ACOTAR anymore. They didnt even properly promote CC3.

Also, I think we have to acknowledge the loyalty of FW fanbase. I’ve noticed that the number of people speaking up to defend FW from the misogynistic "dragon smut" label is high, which is really appreciated to combat those misogynistic articles and 'journalists'.

I’ve been observing both fandoms a lot this past week (and even before that), and I can confidently say that ACOTAR stans have to recycle the same talking points just to stay active, since the material is limited—especially because SJM is nowhere to be found and BB basically does nothing, while Yarros and her publisher are happy to engage with the community. They even hired a voice actor to voice a character just for fandom fun (as far as I know).

Plus, the fact that Empyrean doesn’t rely TOO heavily on romance is a huge advantage. Yes, readers can talk about Violet and Xaden a million times, but they also have other plot points. The politics, the magic, the dragons, etc. There’s so much to choose from and so much to speculate about. Meanwhile, the ACOTAR fandom is stuck in the same dumb fights about "why Rhysand didn’t SA Feyre" or "why Nesta should be dead" or pointless ship wars. Yes, there are theories, but the fandom has no space to breathe and just have fun anymore—both because of the limitations SJM chose to put on her story and because the fandom itself always puts way more emphasis on the romance.

Idk just my observation. I just wanted to share an opinion that no one asked for lol. And I think it’s funny that whether intentional or not, SJM and her fans must feel some kind of shock seeing Rebecca Yarros and her fandom create something this massive especially since Onyx Storm is generally getting great reviews unlike CC3.
