in human form, he has scales in a few places

down the side of his hips to the top of his thighs and a few straglers on his ankles

his scales are blue and green. they're iridescent as well, super pretty

the closer to his chest, the lighter his scales are but there's still some dark ones around his hips that are more like a navy blue

his fins are probably on the greener side as well, and im thinking more translucent too

i looked at some fanart, i think his tail would be more on the "capey" side as well

anyway some design features I really like :)

the bottom of dream's cape is supposed to emulate the sun haha

his outfit was inspired both by his current and his old one, which is why he has a big ol' cape!! I just love both, so...I incorporated both designs into one!

the stars on dream's jacket? trenchcoat? thing. I just thought it looked cool tbh LOL. I just wanted to incorporate more stars into dream's design specifically since dreams and stars kinda just go together.

the gold on swap sans outfit is supposed to mirror the gold on papyrus' design!

Swaps belt, as it stemmed from the crack idea that swap likes wrestling? Don't ask idk how I came up with it either. the initials on swap's belt is actually inspired from dream's belt!! I really like how it came out even if it's kinda like...from nowhere. given he doesn't like wrestling in my head he just thought it looked cool. haha

inks gap tooth, it just feels right!

I added more pinkish purple into dream's design!! just cause I wanted it to be in more than just one place.

I tried to make their faces look distinct ish from eachother!

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention cause its kinda hard to see!! I had this idea that because it looks like dream's unitard would be a struggle to get on or off he eventually got it tailored to have a zipper!! You just can't see it's tracks because its an invisible zipper. so he no longer struggles to take it on or off

Also i got to add all my ink headcanons as well!! similar to dreams i think ink would have a little bag of holding just for convenience lol. Also pretty colors for his scarf just because :3

Remember my first crochet sweater from forever ago? The one that turned out like shit?

Frogged it and now it's a knit 😎

So to recap; I tried making a crochet sweater based on a YouTube tutorial like years ago, and although while making it I could tell it didn't seem... right... I just kept on telling myself to "trust the process" and that "it'd turn out okay in the end"

It did not

The sweater ended up being so square-ish and massive I could've fit three of myself inside of, going well beyond "comfy oversized sweater" straight into "clown clothes" territory. It was bad. On top of that, although I tried to get the same yarn to do the top of the sweater in a pastel purple, I ended up leaning about this thing called "dye lots" the hard way, as the yarn I had needed to finish the sweater ended up being a completely different shade from what I had used for most of the sweater.

So yeah. The sweater turned out like shit, and I wore it maybe once before putting it into my closet and refusing to even look at it for like IDK two years.

Now I have some nicer yarn that I'd like to make something with, something preferably knit because I like knit fabric more than crochet, but I don't want to practise knitting clothes with that nicer yarn. And so I figured, if I frogged this crochet sweater I could then practise knitting sweaters, reuse the old yarn (=don't have to buy jack shit), and maybe remake this failed sweater into something I'll actually wear

And so the sweater was frogged, this being all the usable yarn from the project. Pastel purple dyelot on the left while the more pinkish yarn (the stuff I had originally used while trying to convince myself it wasn't pink)

So yeah. Now admitedly after frogging the sweater I did lowkey think about just trying to re-crochet the sweater and did kinda start on that, but I very soon realized that I probably wouldn't have enough yarn to remake the sweater the way I wanted to, and just trying to crochet with it made me double down on how much I just I don't like crochet fabric as clothes. It's just so bulky, man

So I got to knitting instead. And because I'm deranged I chose to... mostly wing it. I did look at a few YouTube tutorials for top-down raglan sweaters to get an idea of what I was supposed to be doing, but in the end, I do kinda learn the best by just winging it. But what I did make a big note of while remaking the sweater was just trying it on as often as possible, just to make sure I didn't make it as oversized this time.

I did want to make this process relatively simple though and because I didn't want to risk losing out of yarn at an inconvenient point I chose to skip the stripes of the original sweater and just make it a simple two-color sweater. This also had the added benefit where I was able to use up all of the purple yarn on the yolk and just go as far as I could go with it before switching to black.

But yeah, the end result?

It's decent!

Like let's be real, my raglan increases are an absolute fucking mess and the shaping on the yolk is a little funny, AND I did make the collar too big (I was so worried my giant head wouldn't fit through so I made it way bigger than it needed to be, but honestly it's better that way than it being way too small. It looks a little silly but it's not the end of the world), and the sleeves ended up being like maybe 4-5 centimeters too long they could've been a smidge shorter.

But aside from that?

I'm honestly really happy with it

Because the fabric is super soft and nice, it's not too bulky, and most importantly, it fits me. It's not obscenely massive on me, it's just the right size.

And really, that's all I wanted. A sweater I'd actually USE, and yeah, I'm gonna wear the hell out of this next fall/winter when the weather gets cold again. It's not perfect, but it's more than good enough for me. And most importantly, I now feel infinitely more confident in maybe using that nicer yarn sometime soon to knit something

Now what the fuck am I gonna do with the leftover yarn 'cause boy howdy do I have a ton left

I tried to do twists, but they look horrible; I didn't wanna overtly detail them as I felt that'd be outta place of the art style, but it looks horrible as this. IIRC there's not really any black hair styles drawn in UCFT (yet) so no references sadly

Iggy comes from me thinking of what stupid names I can name a surfer and a jojo reference, Leopold comes from well... Freddy originally being named Leopold... So what if Iggy adopted the Freddy mask because of the shared name? that lines up in the timeline I think

Final notes:

I found some minor details in the UCFT style fascinating,

it's kinda hard to tell if something is drawn by oof or hyatiid hyatiid does most of the drawings IIRC, but I feel like I can tell when the artist switches and their minor quirks! I can't say for sure who's who but:

Michael's eye brow color changes sometimes, from a darker color from his main hair, to straight black. I also notice his eyebrows are a layer above hair, not sure if that's always the case as I haven't seen enough drawings of his eyebrows above his mullet to tell

Jeremy's piercing & scar placement is inconsistent, not that noticeable as it's generally the same area, but not the exact same everytime

Michael's hair detailing varies a lot

Eyes. they can be close, far, rounded, etc. rounded eyes are mostly for happy expressions

I think Oof keeps the whites of William's (purple form)eye contained with Hyatiid doesn't? I also think Oof is the one the draws lines under the eye without a fading effect while Hyatiid does

Just had an insane dream and have to write it down plus extra thoughts. In this dream i was living with my best friend in some sort of city. My sister and her boyfriend also lived in the same area. They lived in an outer room of this college building converted into a room. Their outer walls were just glass so anyone could look in. I told them at dinner they should probably invest in some blinds, as I tested what someone was saying and just witnessed her boyfriend laying there on the couch, half naked. E, my sister, agreed with me. That night I went for a run to get back to the hotel where I told C how much lighter I felt now that I had lost weight. (In this dream I had hit major goals). I had a copy of halo 2 for a joke. IDK that part is weird and fuzzy. C still laughed at it though as they do because they're cool like that.

Then me and my best friend, C, decided to go to the mall with my sister. We show up to hang out with her and her friends but I noticed they were kinda being mean to my sister and she was taking it on the chin and awkwardly laughing "with it". E gets up and leaves, clearly disgruntled at the remarks. I let them know what they did was bullshit and that they should feel ashamed of themselves. One of them tried to square up with me, but with C being there i decided i just wanted to get the hell outta there. It is now visibly late, im thinking 9 or 10 pm. We get to the parking garage level we parked at where there are almost no vehicles. A shady looking character in a sports car tried to drive without tires on their rear rims. Me, being a good samaritan, informed the dude. He tells me to "fuck off" and so i do. He starts driving insanely recklessly, almost intentionally trying to hit me and C. I grab C's hand and aggressively get behind a cement pillar. The sports car slams into it. We then run back into the mall since it was the safer path (getting to the car was really dangerous as we would have to go through this guy.)

There's almost no one at the mall at this point. But we go in expecting to just be able to wait this guy out. He comes in after us with additional thug-like characters, think people who look under the influence and messed up. We werent even going to call the cops i THINK because we just wanted to get outta there. He assumes we were gonna "rat". He and the thugs start saying vile, vile, insults and disgusting threats. They start approaching us rapidly and i grab the handgun out of C's hands which C has pulled out of her holster. C didnt really want to shoot them and i think in the moment i didnt want them too either. I aim the handgun dead center at the first two thugs and shoot.. They seize up on the floor. The few people at the mall panic. Then a bunch of police looking individuals barge in the door from behind the thugs. I immediately surrender the gun and raise my hands. I wake up. THOUGHTS: What a crazy ass dream. There was a lot of emotion behind it as well. I think me working out before bed has intensified my dreaming. I'm also pretty anxious about going to see C in May. Also thinking about my weight and fitness goals constantly so that is where the physical fitness part of that dream comes in i think. I've also been watching "Friday night lights" A LOT and i think this influenced the colorfulness of the dream. I remember lots of dark purples and greens in the dream. The thug bore the resemblance of a coworker i pass often who is actually very nice. In the moment of everything all i cared about was C's safety. Didn't want C to get hurt and so i kind of took charge of the situation in the dream. Idk if that's what would have happened or if C would have needed all that... but regardless in the dream they were shook. There were tons of emotional feelings and thoughts i could expand upon but seeing as those tings came from a distressful situation (which was fake but nonetheless effected my emotional reactions and thoughts) i think it wouldn't be fair to. I was worried. Love is all I'll say. The confusing kind. I wish i could operate my brain like a computer and just sort things out. I definitely woke up panicked!

Hi! I hope you're doing well. I will try working on my goodreads account again soon. I already have one but just forgot about it for some reason. But maybe it will help me to remember which books I started and never finished. I probably won't really write reviews or anything though. I didn't really need it cuz I mostly just browse on there and can look up book reviews without it . Then I thought it might pressure me or remind me I'm not reading enough which can be good or bad. I did the same thing with my Letterboxed account and just abandoned it..probably cuz I watch a lot of movies that are whatever to me most of the time or I just forget to update it lol. Anyway I read a snippet of the Starless Sea and am intrigued, although I probably won't get to read it until March at this point. I think it will be ongoing honestly..I know I said I was trying to focus on two books a month but we will see lol since I am always adding other books to my list. So..I ended up seeing Mean Girls on Sunday. I also saw Wonka. It was kinda last minute but I'm glad I was able to go. I saw Wonka first and thought it was fine. I liked it generally but it also didn't feel like Wonka exactly? Parts of it still did..but I guess maybe I didn't know what to expect. I would've liked more with his chocolate making or the oompa loompa. But the songs were fine..except for Timmy being auto tuned was noticeable but I mostly accepted that. It seems like people like it or it wouldn't still be in theaters. Like the Color Purple unfortunately wasn't even showing at my theater so I don't even know when I'll watch it. My sister and I agreed that we would have liked it more when or if we were younger and it also felt kinda long.

I generally agree with your friends about Mean Girls..which was also just fine for me. I think her singing is fine but it's the same as most people who can just barely get by with singing. The songs are more pop so it kinda makes sense but you're mostly right. I mean..I think she looks the part of Cady and an average girl so maybe that explains it..idk. wasn't expecting much but I am also not as familiar with the musical as others might be. So sometimes I would think..was that changed or is that just something in the musical. Like I couldn't exactly remember how they explain Janis and Reginas fight in the musical so that was one example. There's also more focus on social media/Tiktok stuff that didn't really appeal to me and some songs just didn't translate on screen as much..I think Stupid With Love is the most obvious example which might have been the case anyway even if it's bad. Another one is What's wrong with me. The best ones on screen to me were World Burn, Someone Gets Hurt and I guess Apex Predator. The new song just sounds like a normal pop song to me and Renee says she wrote it but it didn't add anything different so I don't know why they changed it. I don't remember the original song that much but it's probably better than this. To be fair, they tried to get most of the songs to sound like pop songs..like with Rather Be Me or Sexy. At one point watching, I felt like it was almost nothing like Mean Girls, mainly cuz there wasn't that much meanness in the movie at all..like it felt like any generic high school movie. Maybe that makes sense and I'm too familiar with the film..which is not like high school at all. There's also not enough drama to me..idk if it was the actors or just how it was..like the part when Aaron runs out of gets annoyed with her then Janis does too..but like it wasn't a big deal. They also didn't spend a lot of time on her downfall/the bus thing..I don't remember these parts much in the musical either though. They also made Aaron more of the focus of everything Cady did..it felt like. Like a lyric would be about don't you wanna be with Aaron..instead of getting revenge for Janis or something, but could just be the musical. So I guess it was just a weird mix and mostly fine. It didn't exactly disappoint me but i am also not as familiar with the musical. I thought Renee, Jaquel and Auhlili were mostly great though. I don't feel a need to watch it again but its still a fun movie, but I understand the problems most people have with it too. I honestly don't know which movie I liked better cuz both were just okay to me. It's been a few days so maybe I forgot something else and the review isn't perfect. In other musical/Broadway news, I saw that Gatsby is going to Broadway so hopefully they made some changes. Also Corey Cott I guess and I read that Lola from the summer I turned pretty is going to be Eurydice? What do you think? I should watch the summer I turned pretty soon..maybe he is better in that than Mean Girls.

I'm generally not big on any covers and especially Taylor songs so idk! I don't think it would be a specific album, but all of these artists I would like to see.. i'm just not sure about the song. Now that we have Fall Out Boy and Hayley features..it seems like we don't need it. Same with Phoebe on Nothing New. But I could see Paramore doing a song like Haunted honestly. I'm not sure about Fall Out Boy. Somebody pointed out that you were the sunshine of my lifetime is pretty similar to he was Sunshine from Midnight Rain, lyrically at least. Idk how a cover by them would sound though lol. We also said Patrick's voice would be good on I can see you. Noah Kahan could do something from Folklore or Evermore. Idk why Cowboy Like Me comes to mind but we have already heard Marcus Mumford do a full cover of that. I also saw someone recently say Stick Season is the other side of Tis the Damn Season..also just lyrically, but I could see him do a cover of it. I think it makes more sense than Dorothea honestly. There's a song by the band Movements called AMP with the lyrics everybody wants you that makes me think of Gold Rush so a cover by them has crossed my mind before but idk how the high parts would sound lol. Soccer Mommy has already covered a Taylor song which is great..I could see Our Song or Teardrops instead of I'm only me when I'm with you though. TOP is kinda hard..they have different styles but I once joked I could hear him covering ATW10 cuz of the piano. For their other stuff, something from rep like IDSB or maybe Delicate..or even New Years Day cuz they mostly have piano closers. I can hear the 1975 singing Antihero so maybe that? what about you?

Oh wow..well with twenty one pilots, they have different styles and a lot of people recommend to start with their popular stuff first..which is the Blurryface album. But I think Vessel is good cuz it shows how the band mostly is and combines some of their styles. The first song I heard was Holding on to you and is a good example of this. But their first album is mostly just piano and slower songs which other people find boring, but it still has some of my favorite songs on it. People think Trench is the best and cohesive album but it just depends on the music you like. You could always go by my Taylor comparisons too but idk if it will help lol. I think ima be in my mars red hair era for 2 years for sure like my Scorpio Venus is gonna be strong. A lot of black sexy clothes idk. But yeah I read hair colors go w a certain planet so red is mars which is about energy, passion & shit & I see it. I was pink hair tbh. Not like bright pink but like a dark pink idk, I think it would only look good if my hair was straight all the time actually idk I could rock it regardless. No but yeah that case literally triggered me cus they was in college & they looked happy & I thought of you but anyways someone posted shit on tik tok about cities & to guess if & they were all so pretty. Idk where I wanna live. New York is cute for the buildings ofc but it’s tooooo crowded & there’s this case I watched that happened in New York & I’ve been traumatized by the energy of New York ever since. I watched this case like 3 years ago. I could go to New York to go but I don’t think I can live there. I feel like sometimes certain cases hit so hard that I feel the energy of it like it literally comes through the screen, it’s actually annoying. I actually had a panic attack over the case cus they did a Netflix series about it & it was sooooo good but incredibly sad & triggering. So yeah new York is a no. Those people aren’t dead tho. So idk why I’m saying a case actually. I love mysteries & murder cases & all of that shit but the downside of it is always the energy that I get from watching it. It’s always eerie & bad like 16 wishes energy LITERALLY. Something was off about that movie. It’s not even on Disney+ . I never understood why Mother’s Day was bad growing up like I would make my moms a Mother’s Day card but she would just throw it away & say it’s bad cus Mother’s Day should be everyday like wow. It’s not that serious. So when Mother’s Day came up, I would say I could make the card but I won’t get to take it home cus my mom won’t appreciate it or anything so there was no point. Idk. fun fact: i used the same seven colored pencils for both the thes eye and the tommy one, i just made the grayer shades more emphasized for the latter. thought that was a neat little detail.

the part 2 to the hero's journey comic

i went fucking Ham during the hero's journey assignment, so much so that i literally planned like 19 more panels than what you saw in the original post (27 panels planned in total). but then i realized that i had like Four Whole Days to do that assignment, and would definitely not be able to do that many, especially not without burning out.

so i instead settled for the very first 8 panels that i planned (though even then, i had to abridge a lot of it, and also cut slime entirely from it, bc otherwise those 8 would have been 14 whole panels, and i think i would actually die-), since that was just enough to show two different steps of the hero's journey (crossing the threshold and meeting the mentor btw. i could probably do a whole analysis on how wesker's stories fit into the hero's journey if i wanted to, but i'm lazy rn and this post is already pretty long), and that was the big grading requirement. (i got 100% on that assignment btw 💪and my english teacher still has no clue that he graded minecraft fanfiction fanart LMAO) but this one is what i would have included if i had more time on the project, and could include more of the story, but as it stands, i made this one in my own leisure, because comics are fun to do.

anyways, with that little rant aside, i tried my best to make q look younger than quackity, and really accentuate the difference between them. idk how i feel about how q turned out though.

i'm really proud of the paneling, and i'm also kinda proud of the first frame with quackity's face in particular bc i thought it looked cool, like an actual comic book or something. but i couldn't figure out the card physics or perspective and that's what ultimately made me choose to abandon it 💔 maybe i'll try attempting this page again when i'm feeling more daring (as well as the other panels that i still haven't even drawn yet), but this wip has been collecting dust for a couple of months now so i figured i'd share it here anyway.

i 1000% want to redraw this someday, just because i think the idea behind it is so fucking neat.

honestly, this one wasn't too bad at all, especially since i did all of it (besides the bones bc i think my health professions teacher would be disappointed if i got them wrong, and also the rune bc i care way too much about accuracy) without any reference, which is a pretty impressive feat for me and my aphantasia. but yeahh i think it could definitely be better, and really, this drawing was ultimately something that i just drew in class to keep myself busy for a bit bc i had way too much freetime that day. it wasn't intended to be post-worthy or anything.

but i think that the idea behind it is definitely post-worthy. maybe i'll even add a thes and/or youngerbur addition once i get more information about them and just how they've changed yk.

i had no clue how to draw the bones in that position, i probably could've done more research but. yeah no i don't have an excuse, i just couldn't be bothered that day lmao.

i was also gonna bloody q's hands a bit if i ever got to the coloring stage. like a little nod to when he lost himself to Madness. is the blood actually there? who knows, we're seeing it from his eyes, so for all we know, the rune isn't even lit up either, and he's just remembering it being so. remembering the moment he acted so unlike how he used to be.

the bones are definitely there for charlie though, poor guy...

Of course you can!!! In a world where Azhdaha and Osial were let out of their sealed caverns in order to sign a ‘I will protect Liyue in exchange for my freedom’ contract with Morax….

This was so fun! I wanna write more for them now…hehe..

Osial:

He tends to see himself as better than mortals, he’s proper and somewhat high strung. He was locked away in an era far different than this, so when he arrives in Liyue harbor for the first time in centuries, he’s surprised by everything. The things people eat, their religion, their storytellers…Hell, the dialect is even different (time for Zhongli to tutor his old friends so they don’t sound insane while trying to have a convo with regular folks lol)

He speaks very proper, similar to Zhongli, but he sounds very old fashioned. That is, when he does talk. Osial is quiet, he prefers to listen rather than speak

So when he meets you, his old fashioned tendencies leap out as he tries to court you with handmade gifts like necklaces or glazed pottery. Osial is very skilled with his hands! Back in his day, he’d adorn himself with all sorts of jewelry and headdresses he made himself

He can be very hands on too, before you’re ever on an established relationship he’ll link your arms as you walk down to the harbor or wrap an arm around your waist. Internally, you’ll probably think ‘oh man, we aren’t even together and he’s already this touchy…’ but in reality, that’s just how he is. He links arms with all of his friends because to him, it’s a friendly gesture!!! He fails to realize that in modern times, doing that makes it look like you’re a couple

Due to his imprisonment in the deepest, coldest part of the ocean, Osial is very touch starved. When you hug him for the first time, that’s when you really see it cause he doesn’t want to let go :’) he always smells like the ocean air and incense

Massage his shoulders and hands, he’s never had a massage in his entire life!! This is a new experience that he’ll treasure cause…you’re making him feel so good

When you’re together, he’ll want to go to the beach or take a bath, anywhere with water really. Being able to submerge himself in the tub soothes his skin and mind. When you are together, he’ll show you how he can ‘dissolve’ into the water! He isn’t actually dissolving, he’s kinda turning into water? And melting into it? I’m having a hard time finding the right word for it ahhh-

Osial, while gentlemanly and quiet, does have a temper. Zhongli really brings it out of him just because he thinks it’s funny “You stupid lizard, you better quit stepping on my shoes” “I have no idea what you’re talking about, dear friend” “MORAX!!!!” “….You must stop calling me that in public” it’s kinda funny to see them interact

Osial is a pescatarian, meaning he is a vegetarian who doesn’t eat any meat except fish. He eats…a lot of fish. Sometimes, instead of cooking the fish he just bought from the market, he’ll take one and sit on the sofa with a book…Then eats it raw as a snack…bones and all…blood dripping down his arm, smeared on his face. This is where Zhongli’s aversion to seafood comes from. When you bring up the fact that watching eat a raw fish that way is somewhat disturbing….Osial, again, doesn’t get it. It’s a fish, there’s nothing gross about eating fish?? Babe the fish isn’t gross but the way you’re eating it is gross

Also, Osial is an old fashioned romantic. I mentioned earlier that he’d make jewelry and stuff for you but he’d also write poems for you too :) are they good? Well…’good’ is subjective

Azhdaha:

When Morax sealed him away, Azhdaha had been his most loyal companion. After the god of contracts gave him a set of eyes, Azhdaha swore to protect him. He followed him around, did almost everything he was asked to do

He had centuries to ponder his behavior when he was locked away. He sat and mourned the loss of his freedom, the loss of his dearest friend

So when Morax came to release him, he leapt at the opportunity to come up out of the ground

Azhdaha’s human form is TALL, like 6’5, and Liyue harbor is noooot meant for people that tall. He’s gotta duck when going through doors and kinda hunch in areas with low ceilings. He has a good sense of humor so he thinks it’s funny how he’s so tall, he makes jokes about it and laughs :)

Speaking of laughing, Azhdaha does NOT have an inside voice, he talks super loud!! He’s a bit rowdy too, he doesn’t like sitting still for long and loves going on adventures together

Azhdaha used to be blind and even though he has had eyes for centuries now, he never takes a sight for granted. He’ll watch the sunset, take ‘mental pictures’ of you when he thinks you look pretty, he’ll make you stand and watch street performances even if you’ve seen them ten times already just cause he loves it

His favorite colors are red, purple and orange. They’re just pleasing to his eyes! So when you wear those colors he’s sure to take as many ‘mental pictures’ as he can :) cute

He isn’t really a good cook but he DOES try. Cooking usually takes a delicate touch which he just doesn’t really have lol he’s got big hands

Azhdaha isn’t the best at cooking and is insecure about picking gifts, he just worries you won’t like it :( sooooo the way he shows his affection is by just hanging around you all the time! He’ll help with commissions, come pick flowers or break open cor lapis for you, go fishing with you, whatever you want to do!!

Once he’s fallen for you, it’s pretty easy to tell, he isn’t very subtle :) cuuute! You can just see it in his eyes….he’s totally infatuated with you

Zhongli will tease him too just cause it’s funny to fluster the gentle giant

the dark lord knew he was in love with his best friend, the chosen one.

And that was from way back in time from when they were just teens, it started as a small puppy crush dark hoped would go away, but it never did. Instead the feeling grew up with him, becoming stronger and buried deeper inside his heart, at some point he just accepted it as something part of his daily life, and for a while he lived okay-ish like that.

But then, things happened, and to put it lightly… he felt lucky to even stand next to chosen after everything that happened. let alone be his friend. The feelings he thought he had buried came back, yes, but Dark knew he hadn’t done things right to stand a chance with chosen.

That didn’t stop him from flirting from time to time, or brushing their hands together every once in a while, or –once every blue moon– going out together on what anyone else would call dates.

They weren’t a thing, but the dark lord could live happily the way they were.

Until that particular picnic with the color gang.

“So, why are we going again?” dark asked as he carried a basket with their things to the meeting spot.

“Again” chosen answered, not minding the insistence of other stickman “We are going to a picnic hangout because Second wanted to show the gang you are no threat, and because I thought it would be a nice day for a picnic”

“Are you sure this is a good idea?”

“The bar is set low, just don’t kill anyone and we’ll be fine” that was the last thing chosen said as he was warmly greeted by the second coming, who showed them the way to a small park with the color gang, purple and mango.

The evening was fun, at first the gang was kinda afraid of the dark lord but started to open up from bits to bits. It wasn't the first time they hung out together but this was the best hang out to date (even mango tango was having fun!).

"See? I told you this would be a good idea" chosen said as he sat over the cloth, the shadows of a cherry tree protecting his eyes as he looked to the sky.

"Yeah, you were right goldfish, I need to chill a bit"

"Goldfish?" And dark smirked as he looked straight to chosen's eyes

"Cause you're the snack that smiles back" and he winked. Chosen stood silent for a second to next snort

"That was kinda cheesy for you, you're evolving with those pick up lines huh?"

"I can always go back to the other type, but I thought a pretty guy like you would be tired of being in a dirty mind like mine" and just when chosen was about to answer a cough was heard from near there. Both of them turned to see mango standing there, and dark blushed hard.

"Food is ready, we're over there" the tallest stick figure signaled a table with everyone. Dark made a mental reminder to thank whatever God or goddess was over them for mango not mentioning anything to the rest.

The trio joined the rest of the gang for dinner and began chatting and eating. Everything was calm, but you could feel there was something going on, dark thought he was being paranoid but oh boy he was wrong. He barely listened to the conversation as he drank some water to calm down.

"Hey chosen, can I ask a bit of a personal question?" yellow finally asked, everyone but dark, mango and the named stick tensed.

"Sure"

"How long have you and dark been together?" Dark had an explosive reaction, choking on his water and blushing so hard he could almost feel the water boil.

"W H A T ?"

"I-I don't mean no harm I swear!" yellow defensively backed away "I just think you two are really cute together and got curious, that's all-"

"WE ARE NOT DATING!" And the table fell into silence, until–

"I told you, pay up" purple smirked as they extended their hand, yellow, blue, red, green and second groaned loudly before giving each one some bucks.

"You guys made a bet if we were dating or not?" Chosen seem calm, but Dark knew better than that, chosen was furious

"Uh… We were sure you were dating, so we actually bet on how long, only purple said you guys weren't dating" green awkwardly explained, feeling himself getting more and more intimidating at chosen's constant stare.

"I know two pinning idiots when I see them" purple accidentally slipped while counting their money. Everyone flinched when chosen aggressively hit the table with both hands as he got up.

"The day has been lovely, but me and dark have to leave now" and harshly grabbing dark's hand he pulled him apart, quickly grabbed his things and left the park.

Dark had never been more afraid in his life than that day, a thousand thoughts running through his mind. Had he been too obvious? Was chosen mad at him? He followed chosen in silence as they made their way to their shared apartment.

He couldn't lose chosen again, but he couldn't bear the tension anymore. Just- to apologize would make it, right? Chosen was one of the kindest persons he had ever met, if he just said that he would forget his feelings chosen would understand.

"Hey cho…"

"God, that's not how I wanted the day to end" chosen finally faced dark, a light blush on his face, dark gulped as he finally managed to get the courage to try fix things.

"I'm sorry, I know I should have told you and—"

"I already knew" chosen interrupted "about your crush, I mean"

Dark's mind went on a blue screen. What? Did he know from the start? "W-what?!"

"Honey, you are many things but subtle is not one of them" chosen pinned dark against the wall. He was close, too close, dark's breath hitched "I was just waiting"

"Waiting for what?"

"For you to give the first step" chosen cupped dark's face, unconsciously dark leaned into the touch while keeping the eye contact. "I've been waiting a long, long time…"

Dark didn't need chosen to tell him how even redder than usual he was, he could feel his face burn. The tension was too strong, the revelations were sudden and his mind was spiraling from all the new information.

Then, chosen leaned closer and closer "tell me to stop if you don't want this" eyes half closed, dark could feel chosen's breath over his mouth.

"Please don't stop" and dark closed the distance. Ay first it was a sweet and gentle kiss but slowly, it got stronger, more needy and more desperate. Before they knew it they were already making out.

"God, I love you so much" chosen mumbled between kisses and dark stopped.

"I love you too"

"Then… Dark, would you be my boyfriend?" and dark answered with another kiss, going back to the gentleness and care.

"Hey, how about we go see some movies and call it a day?"

"Couldn't be better for me"

Hi!! I was just thinking about your Very Sad piece for day 23 and wondering about your drawing process, particularly because of the complexity of the water - do you sketch in pencil first? If you have the chance and feel comfortable, do you think you could share a couple of in progress shots of your beautiful art? <3

ARGHRHGH okay i had MOST of this answered and then my page suddenly crashed, so I'm very frustrated, but I'm DETERMINED to type it all up again! First of all thank you for the ask! :D I don't usually take very many in-process photos, although I might do that for today's so I can give you a better look. :) For this piece, I started off filming myself dragging around a body pillow as reference footage for the pose. Meet Chat Noir!

(My room's a mess because I still haven't finished unpacking, don't mind it lol) If the poses I want are very simple, or don't interact with each other, or I've drawn similar ones, I don't always need a reference. In most cases though, I'll either spend some time on Google Images or photograph myself to help. I went through my footage and found some frames that I liked, and sketched some of them out in a different sketchbook. It's bigger and I like using it for planning and reference practice. Here's that page!

Because I draw with traditional media, and I'm trying to do all of these pictures back to back in one sketchbook, I try to plan it out in a fair amount of detail before starting on the actual page. Once I get going, it can be tricky to shift things around, especially because I always sketch in colored pencil. (I think it looks nice, it's not as messy as graphite, and it also has a subtle bearing on the mood of the final piece. This one is a dark blue-green because I wanted it to look really waterlogged, but I've used pink, purple, or yellow for a lot of Marichats so far.) The pose here was something I put a lot of thought into because I wanted it to be close enough to show how protective and intense Marinette was, but also with enough distance that I could clearly show the strain on her body and his weight in her arms. The story is also important to all of this, especially in the sketching stage. I knew Chat would be floating partially, so that would affect his weight. I knew Marinette had been looking for him for a while, so her hair was plastered to her face - and she'd gone out in a hurry, so her raincoat was unbuttoned. Chat had been slumped in an alleyway for a while as the rain fell, so the blood was diluted and darkened. etc etc I picked the Place des Vosges for the background because a) it was simple b) trees and fences are pretty easy to wreak havoc on! (this is so long sorry) I sketched the people first, to make sure the pose fit into the frame, then added in some background markers, and a few directional lines to remind me of the water flow direction (I knew I wanted her fighting against the current to bring him home). I lined the people first too, leaving out the pupils and mouths til later, because those are the main indicators of emotion, and I wanted to make sure they would still work if the mood of the piece shifted. From there I lined the people in ink, added more detail to the background sketch to make sure it fit around them well and was still clearly readable, and then inked that. For the water...idk what to tell you, I was winging it which is funny because that's the part everyone's commented on the most sdflkjdf I did use some references (I googled like, "water moving past rocks") to see how water responds to obstacles, but water is really difficult to draw, so I just kinda...wung it and tried to create something genre-appropriate! I steered clear of realism bc I knew I wouldn't be able to pull it off very convincingly and would get bogged down in all the deatil it's possible to include. (@davey-in-a-minivan of the very big brain pointed out that the water looks like peacock feathers) After that, I think I lightly colored the people first, then the background, so I could keep a handle on how they affected each other. Again, the story is important here too, because it makes the clothes shiny, and darker if they're absorbent, and the water darker and with more debris because of the turbulence. I do have a picture I sent to a friend part way through:

After that, I just kept going until I was happy! I like dramatic shading, so I added in a bit more as I went, but because light on a foggy day is pretty diffused, I didn't do as much as usual with that. I added more detail to the trees and sky behind because it didn't fit well with the rest of the piece, and eventually I got here!
