"Ye don't have admins?! Really? Arc, I thought we all did! I know Maxie has Courtney 'n' Tabitha, and Cyrus has got a few, and Giovanni, Lysandre... I'm real surprised ya don't as well!" Archie let go of his chain to gesture at Ghetsis. He was a man who talked with his hands a lot. Unfortunately, with only one of his hands being free, he can't stim and hand gesture at the same time...

"Well, um... I suppose the way t'describe it is that they're in between bein' me and a grunt. I got more 'power' than 'em but they got more 'power' than a normal grunt. They also get their own separate tasks, usually bein' a bit more difficult than y'know average grunt work. Y'know?" Archie peered inside his tankard, now regretting chugging its contents. He sighed, just throwing the cup over his shoulder. Archie was one to never put things away properly. It was a nightmare back a home. A messy pirate "married" to a neat freak... Opposite really do attract.

"Oh wow, is that a compliment comin' from ya? Never thought I'd see the day!" He smiled. "I'm more than capable at me job, but it's always nice to have a little help, y'know? Team Aqua's a big team, after all, and-" He was cut off by a woman's voice.

"Somebody needs to keep Archie's ass from making terrible, rash decisions," Shelly chimed in. "I mean once he almost sailed us all to Kalos wanting to steal the fucking Prism Tower." She had walked past the two once more because she was nosy. She hated being around Ghetsis, however she was curious about what these two would even talk about...

"I thought you left?"

"I'm gone," she chuckled before walking off. She was always a sweetheart to Archie, but she still will absolutely always call him out on his bullshit. Without her the entire team would be even more chaotic than it already was.

There was a loud crashing noise heard from near the entrance followed by large, heavy footsteps. These were supposedly made by someone running throughout the castle. As the seconds went by, the grew louder and louder, approaching Ghetsis at a decently high speed.

Suddenly they stopped. There was a brief moment of silence. What the fuck? The silence was then quickly broken by a ear-piecing banging noise and the sound of a door being slammed up against something. The wall or the floor, presumably. A voice was then heard, yelling. A... familiar voice.

"HEYA, GHETSIS!" Archie shouted, lowering his foot back down onto the ground. This fucking pirate for real just busted down this guy's door. With his foot. Just fucking kicked it in. Okay, Archibald. Alright.

Before the footsteps, Ghetsis had been sitting in his office, the shadow triad standing attentively before him, receiving their usual daily debrief.

At first, he presumed it to be another worthless grunt with a promise of an ‘incredibly rare pokémon’ (most likely another absol). Though, the footsteps seemed much to heavy for any grunt he could think of, plus, they’d been firmly told not to run in any part of the castle.

As the thundering grew closer he narrowed his eyes, gesturing for each shadow to take a defensive position somewhere in the room. Perhaps an escaped pokémon? A planned attack from the pokémon league?

With each thud on the door he grips his cane tighter, a practiced deadpan on his face despite the racing of his heart.

Oh my Arceus..

“Archibald?!” he quickly takes to his feet, slamming his cane into the floor. “Did I not prohibit you from entering these grounds?” he scowls, the beautifully ornate door still on its hinges, thank arc. He sighs, gesturing for the triad to fall at ease. Regardless, they take their places surrounding the intruder.

He pinches the bridge of his nose, not even bothering to ask how the man passed his grunts, “what is the purpose of this visit?”

my name is silv. i’m back to writing fanfiction for the pokemon fandom and i’m trying to find some people to talk with.

i previously wrote a hardenshipping fic, The Devil and the Dead Sea, way back in 2019, and i’ve just started releasing chapters for the prequel!

So my main focus is ORAS/RSE/Archie & Maxie/Hardenshipping but I really love all the games.

All of my writing is appropriate for teenage/mature audiences because I don’t like posting nsfw on my main. If there are some mature themes, it’s generally implied or fade-to-black.

I think they are? I don't know. I ONLY hang out with the other team leaders. That's it. I really don't care much for anyone else. Hell, I barely care for any of them except for Maxie. Forced to attend meetings though... Thankfully I can just space out. Then proceed to freak the fuck out once I'm asked a question about something I was barely paying attention to.

BINGO!! I'm the leader of Team Aqua and he is the leader of Team Magma. We are rival teams. Our goals are LITERALLY the opposite. I wanted to expand the sea whilst he wanted to expand the land. We're such opposites of each other it's fucking insane... I wonder why I love him sometimes.

The first book in my hardenshipping trilogy, The Devil and the Dead Sea, focuses on Maxie's desperation to reach the Seafloor Cavern. After his own plans fall through, he must enlist the help of his enemy in order to reach his goals, and joins hands with Team Aqua in order to reach the cavern.

But along the way, a hidden romance is discovered between the two teams, and Maxie must bring his team - and his own sanity - back under control, lest he lose everything he's ever worked for in the process.

A traditional Enemies-to-Lovers - featuring many parties Maxie does not want to be at. Gossip, nonsense, sad feelings, and sea shanties ensue.

The preqel to The Devil and the Dead Sea, Icarus and the Blistering Sun tells the story of the beginnings of Archie and Maxie's relationship-turned-rivalry, and how there once was a close partnership and even a friendship therein - and how it all went so bitterly, catastrophically wrong.

Follow a young, aspiring, college-age Maxie as he strives to find his calling. He and Archie--along with one other peculiar blue-haired scientist--travel the region to chart and discover the legendary Pokemon--inadvertently feeding this information directly into the hands of Team Rocket.

Featuring Even More Parties that Maxie Does Not Want to Be At, and Colress, who is only there to break rules. There is some light Maxie/Colress content, a peculiar and disastrous ship I am referring to as FeralScienceShipping

Book 3: Mother Earth and Her Infinite Sky (wip) ~ 100,000 words (probably)

“Thwarted by two twelve year old kids." Maxie paused again.  “Hm.  I don’t like that this is a recurring pattern for some reason.” “It’s like every region’s just linin’ up waitin’ for their next apocalypse,” Archie laughed.  “Who’s next?  Kalos?  Alola?  Sinnoh?” “Please don’t talk like that.” “What?  Why?” “Sinnoh is home to creatures far more powerful than Kyogre and Groudon.”

The third book in the Dead Sea Trilogy, in which Archie and Maxie (and their third wheel, Colress) are working together to build something new from the ashes of their two retired teams. They join forces with their mutual parole officer (Looker) to keep themselves out of jail, and to a stop to an emerging threat in the Sinnoh region.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Maxie, Archie, Colress, Looker, Matt, Shelly, Courtney, Tabitha, Team Galactic, Archie and Maxie's fledgling romantic relationship, Courtney's weird computer thing, and the Creation Trio.

Spinoff: Ophelia and the King’s Madness (wip) ~ 140,000 words

"N's heart is pure and innocent. But there is nothing more beautiful and terrifying than innocence."

This is one of only three quotes uttered by Concordia in the entire game. Ophelia tells the story of Ghetsis' lesser-known children, Anthea and Concordia, and how Concordia came to the conclusion she did. It explores Team Plasma as a cult, Ghetsis as its leader, and the two sisters as sheltered prisoners in their own "heavenly" home.

The story centers greatly on Concordia and the secret, romantic relationship she develops with Colress, who hides a great portion of who he is while continuing to experiment with Team Plasma and Project Genesect behind her back.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Anthea, Concordia, Colress, N, Ghetsis, Project Genesect, the logistics of Team Plasma as a cult, Ghetsis' manipulation of Anthea & Concordia in order to "correctly raise" raise N.

The Legend of Zelda

Exile//Vilify (complete) ~ 150,000 words

The boy was special, and he intended to find out why.

An origin story for Astor from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Exile//Vilify tells the story of those that are chosen, and those who are not.

Astor has trained since childhood to become the next Royal Seer, but he is plagued with a dark secret: a prophecy that states that he will one day be expelled from the castle, sent into exile, and devote his life to Calamity Ganon.

General fiction, no extensive ship content. Featuring Astor as the royal seer, Astor having a deep, meaningful relationship with Zelda's mother, and a Fate-worshipping cult that calls themselves the Royal Order of the Seers.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Astor, Zelda's mother, King Rhoam, Master Kohga & Sooga, original Hylian characters, a deconstruction of the concept of fate & predestination, and an exploration of Astor's cult/eventual worship of Calamity Ganon.

Stories from Exile ~ 50,000 words (ongoing)

In which Kohga and Sooga are really just friends.

Stories from Exile is a collection of one-shots, short stories, and other just general snippets, some much more serious than others, that are related to the world of Exile//Vilify. Majority focuses on "evil" Astor - aka, his time spent in exile - and his misadventures with the Yiga Clan, although there are a handful of stories of Royal Seer Astor in Hyrule Castle, including a few heartwarming ones with the baby Princess Zelda.

The Totally-Platonic relationship of Kohga and Sooga really takes the cake here though, and a great handful of stories also focus on Yiga-Clan shenanigans. There is a table of contents at the beginning so you are able to sort through and find what you'd like.

Updated sporadically as new ideas strike me, all canon or semi-canon to Exile//Vilify.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Master Kohga, Sooga, Astor, Lady Urbosa, Princess Zelda, the rest of the HWAOC crew. Antics.

Trouble Will Find Me stands as a prequel to Exile//Vilify. It is a story that focuses on Astor's mentor, Thelem, and what brought him to the Royal Order of the Seers, and to the events that take place right before his first meeting with Astor.

This is Thelem's origin story, featuring the formative years he spends on Satori Mountain, finding himself, his meeting and relationship with Azelphir, and a more in-depth look at the culture and religion of the Order of the Seers.

Featured Characters/Concepts: Thelem, Azelphir, deeper lore of the Order of the Seers, Thelem's origin story, Thelem and Azelphir's underlying feelings for one another. Blupees, Koroks, Hyrule's other supernatural phenoma, and the Lord of the Mountain.

Rewoven into the Stars was a gift/commission for a friend, which falls in the Stories from Exile universe. A portal opens through space-time and sends a rather strange (and kind) Ganondorf through. He and the formerly-royal seer spend the following weeks growing closer, even falling in love.

Hyrule is Doomed! is a SILLY collection of one-shot stories that detail my chaotic, shirtless himbo playthrough of BOTW/TOTK. Featuring tales such as Link scaling the castle naked and with six hearts (and beating Windblight Ganon), going west instead of east off of the Great Plateau, and the ever-beloved Guardian Tipping.

Updated as ideas and the memories come to me, or when I do something stupid in BOTW/TOTK again.

DEFINITELY ORAS Maxie! ORAS Maxie’s just has a lot of personality!!! Like, sure, he might be initially cold and to the point, but he’s sympathetic! He wanted what he thought was best for the rest of humanity,,,, in short, I love this man and his dynamic and contrast with Archie!

As for the others, Adventures version Maxie got killed by Archie (sad), but at least he and Archie were able to be revived to save the world from that fuckass meteor (before he and Archie got the disintegrating dust treatment) while RSE Maxie? Well, he was similar to Archie :(

And Generations/anime/PMEX? I haven’t really watched or played them, so no opinion V^V;

tbh I didnt like the RSE design at first and I didnt grow up playing any pokemon game until recently. but like they kind grew on me for their dynamic alone ( considering other medias with their old design yes ) and due to me being exposed with 273672 fanarts of them so I don't hate the old design anymore, I think they are just as cool.

I love Maxie's RSE design like the simple overcoat and all and for Archie's old design I love how people often depict him with the creepy blue eyes staring into your soul lol.

I cannot imagine Hardenshipping with the RSE designs. Is it because I grew up with ORAS marketed at people around my age (18-20 ish) and so I can’t imagine Gen 3 characters in their RSE designs at all? Or are the ORAS designs so appealing that the RSE designs look comparatively weird? Is it the lack of Gen 3 nostalgia because I was born in between the North American releases of Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald.

Also yes. Hardenshipping good. They are gay and in love(half the time).

I actually had a small debate with myself if I should include the version of Maxie who accomplished his goals in Ultra Sun/Moon, however, I've decided I will do those hcs (along with the other leaders in those separate timelines) in it's own post. So, expect those at some point, but Ghetsis won't be there since someone already requested a scenario where he became the king of Unova.

Also, in terms of if this is RSE Maxie or ORAS Maxie: these hcs can apply to either since I don't see much of a difference between them in personality besides just different choice and events. But I mostly thought of ORAS Maxie for this.

✧General Yandere Headcanons✧—Team Magma Leader Maxie

Warning(s): Controlling Behavior, Manipulation, Belittlement, Mentions of Delusional Behavior, Mentions of Death, Mentions of Kidnapping

Controlling and Manipulative. Maxie... Has this mindset that if you do not agree with his ideals or seem to not know any better (according to him), it gives him the right to 'assist' you in life. Oh don't fret so much. It's the least he can do for you, who he has taken consideration of. It begins with the simple things that you wouldn't notice right away. Small decisions that you make due to his influence, though you still believe it was your choice in the end. Still, I would not say that the leash he has you on is a harsh one. Only if you force him to shorten it. Even so, he isn't as bad as other controlling yanderes like Faba.

At his worst, Maxie gets a little condescending. He gets in the mood where he will explain to you in a way where it's seen as belittlement. This would be taken down a notch if he noticed that you truly were affected by his words. It startles him and you could use that against him. However, be warned, he will catch on soon and when he does... You best believe a punishment is in order.

Maxie is a semi lucid yandere. It is apparent that what he is feeling and doing is wrong but on the other hand, he thinks it would be best to stick around. There are worse things in the world to concern yourself over and he can assure you, he isn't one of them. The delusional part of him really shines through when it comes to your wellbeing. He's only looking out for what's best for you, so you can't really argue against him. It would just give the impression that you're ungrateful for all he's done; which is so much. You... Do know he has enough to provide for you, yes? He hopes that you are aware.

This man will deny any assumptions of jealousy. It's uncouth of him to feel such a way. Even so, despite his denial, Maxie is prone to small bouts of jealousy but always manages to catch himself before it goes too far. He's a refined man as he deems himself, so he is aware such behavior would only drive you away. Of course, that is something he does not want. Oh, but some people... He'd just love to crush them under the dirt. They'd serve more purpose by becoming the fertilizer that supports the Earth. Even then, Maxie just deems people like that lower than dirt, but he's only keeping himself in check just for you. Though there are exceptions...

Maxie poses more of a danger towards others more than you or himself. However, he is less dangerous than certain team leaders like Ghetsis, Lusamine, Giovanni, or Cyrus. If I were to rate him on a danger level, he'd at least be a 4.5/10. He has the capabilities of endangering others if he wanted but this man uses more manipulation tactics than brute force to get rid of people. Besides, he does have the aid of Tabitha, Courtney, and the grunts to assist him should he require such so it's better to use what you have already to get what you want is what he believes. Maxie also thinks that trying to court you normally would work before trying anything drastic. He is confident in himself to think so. He can give you whatever you desire, he's a capable suitor, and oh, obviously he knows so much about you. What could be better?

Unfortunately, if you do reject him... He doesn't take it well. Maxie just can't believe you would pass this sort of chance up. Maybe... You don't know any better. Yeah, that's what it must be. He'd sigh to himself. Of course! Why did he leave that possibility out? You truly don't understand given that everyone else in this world do not fully comprehend his goals and why true evolution is being halted. These people surround you, which is why you can't see things from his perspective. It seems that he must educate you. He will fully oblige.

It's 50/50 in terms of if Maxie is more selfish or selfless, but I'd say he is only slightly a bit more selfish. Like yes, he does think of your well-being time and time again and knows how to restrain himself from acting out since you could poorly react. However, give it time and his patience will thin out sooner or later. I believe it's the bits of delusion that make it seem to him that he's only guiding you towards a better path despite in reality, Maxie is manipulating you. He does not see him kidnapping you nor dealing with your friends/family as selfish acts in order to get you to be his. No. Maxie deems it his way of making sure nothing could act as a bad influence on you. He does this because he loves you.

Listen, USUM has its issues (biggest one being a literal full price dlc for SM imo) but I just really love the whole Rainbow Rocket plot for several reasons:

The only way Giovanni found to make Archie and Maxie work together was to not tell them they were on the same team

They're also back to their RSE designs which means that Maxie looks like sci-fi Dracula and Archie looks like he sells sharpedo fins illegally

More or less canon confirmation that yes, Ghetsis absolutely planned on killing N after he got him to conquer Unova, and also having him threaten yet another child on screen

Red and Ethan apparently fucked primeverse Giovanni up so bad that even his alternate self felt it

Cyrus, the literal world-ending cultist who planned on harnessing the power of the gods to destroy the universe, is somehow the team's token good guy

Colress hated working for Ghetsis so much back in Unova that he showed up specifically to send him back to his universe even though he wasn't even the Ghetsis he knew personally
