“Oh my god. I’ve had three younger brothers and I thought they were all the same kid!” Dick wailed, grabbing a handful of marshmallows and stress cramming it into his mouth. Tim threw him a disgusted look.

“To be fair, we made sure to train to act like each other from a really early age,” Tim said, snatching the bag of chips that Lionel chucked at his head. “He wouldn’t have caught us and you know it.” Lionel grumbled.

“I’ll help.” Dick mumbled dejectedly.

“You’ll have to get in line, Wing,” Tim went back to his laptop. “My thirds got first dibs, and I’m not planning on staying still either. I’m gonna mess with Jason’s slush funds.”

“He’s got a stash of cash locked up in the fourth safe house, but that’s not interesting. Look!” Lionel proudly displayed a duffle bag- from where he got it from, Dick had no clue- and unzipped it to show batteries, lightbulbs, and random bits and bobs.

“What is that?” Dick asked.

“That’s the second lightbulb in his bathroom light! This is the left battery in his TV remote! And this is half of his back up boot laces. I took all of his 10 mm sockets! And the specialized socket he got for his bike! And this,” Lionel grinned, lifting up a piece of fabric. “Is his pillow case!”

“Yes.”

Tim smirked in a way that made Dick suddenly have a horrible need to shake and lecture him on the moralities of not becoming a villain. “It’s glitter. Purple and pinks.”

gojo satoru is quite well-known to be good at everything he does, which is relatively true except for one thing — pottery making.

pottery making requires skills satoru does not have. so when you ask him to come join you in a pottery-making class, he hesitantly agrees.

“tell me why we’re here again?” satoru asks you quietly to not disturb the other people in the class. “you know we can just buy our own furniture, right?”

“toru, for the last time, we’re not making furniture! we’re making our own custom mugs we can paint later.” you repeated your explanation for the fifth time. “isn’t it fun? we can customize the mugs we make!” you clapped, excited to start.

satoru tries to complain once again but seeing the smile on your face stops him from doing so. he sighs, mentally cursing himself in his head for being so weak for you (he doesn’t mind, however. he loves spoiling you).

when the teacher arrives you straighten your back, listening to their instructions intently. you nod when you understand what they say, humming in between their words. “alright, let’s get started, shall we? if any of you need help just raise your hand and i’ll be right there!” they sat down in the front of the class, carefully watching everyone’s progress.

“okay! toru, let’s get started,” you exclaim, grabbing the clay and placing it on the machine. “do you have an idea for the design you’re going for?” you dip your hands in water, dropping a few droplets of water onto the clay to make it wet. when you see satoru unmoving, you look at him. “what’s wrong? do you understand what the teacher said before?”

“huh? oh, yeah! of course i understand!” satoru rolls up his sleeves, not wanting them to get dirty. “be prepared to see the best mug ever.”

satoru grabs a chunk of clay before wetting it a bit. you are prepared to see him make the mug so you stopped, watching his moves. instead of satoru making the mug just as he said before, he couldn’t even make the shape of a mug properly. instead, it’s a… tall structure you can’t even name it.

“um, toru?” you poke his shoulder. “a mug isn’t supposed to look like that.” you point at the… thing satoru has made.

“hey, don’t judge a book by its cover! i’m not finished, okay?” satoru huffs, trying to form the clay into a better shape. however, it doesn’t turn out so well, the clay slowly lifting off of the machine as he is trying to form it. so when the clay does fall off the machine, satoru yelps in surprise. “what the- hey! the clay can’t just jump off the machine!”

you started laughing out loud, satoru immediately frowns. “i’m sorry! it’s just- it’s too funny!” you wipe the lone tear that escapes your eye with the sleeves of your shirt. “look, just watch, okay?” satoru sighs, eyes trained on you. he watches your every move, how gently you started forming the clay into a shape of a mug and gently lifting it off of the machine. “tada!”

you proudly show off your masterpiece. satoru bogles it with wide eyes, astonished. “are you insane? how’d you do that on your first try?”

“i just am better at making pottery than you do.” you smugly say, handing your mug to the teacher who compliments your skills. “are you not going to try again?”

“no.” satoru says rather quickly. he stands up and goes to wash his hands. you follow behind him. “are you happy today?”

“yeah! though i really wanted to see you try again.” you giggled. “i can’t believe you couldn’t even form it into a mug!”

“if you say one more thing about that i will paint your mug an ugly color.” satoru threatens lightly, to which you immediately stop talking.

ㅤㅤcalls you at a sensible hour if you haven’t agreed on a specific time. he knows your schedule by heart so don’t worry because he won’t bother you in the middle of work, etc. if you do have a call schedule, then he’ll make sure to call at exactly that time. can be very punctual about this and will start seeing everyone as bowling pins once he realizes he’s gonna be a minute late. they don’t call him a STRIKEr for nothing. will listen and rant equally! he always has interesting stories; wbk being in a call with isagi is never boring. also expect his teammates popping up in the background because of course they want to bonk him in the head after running them over know the person who can temporarily turn him into chigiri. ah yes, the furious yelling ambient noise, a classic. “isagi yoichi istg—” “get your ass back in here wtf was that about?!” “you have a competition, princess.” “EVERYONE STFU!!!” never fails to make you giggle. bonus: screenshots you laughing because he adores you sm <3

⚘ ITOSHI RIN

ㅤㅤhe has a routine and you’re in it: three times a day; square meal style. his early calls are short and mostly consist of “good morning”, “have you had breakfast yet”, and “take care”; (borrowing his word) lukewarm shit like that. i love you. even though he usually prefaces his afternoon/evening calls with “i pressed it on accident” (back to back for months straight? yea sure), it’s clearly an excuse because he just wants to hear your voice but his pride isn’t letting him. i love you. it has also recently been brought up to his attention that he can’t seem to sleep peacefully without hearing your voice first. so tell him something, anything, or don’t. he’ll settle with just the comfortable silence after a “hello”. it’s also the only time of the day he’ll say it loud and clear: “i love you”.

⚘ NAGI SEISHIRO

ㅤㅤwhat’s a timezone? it can be in the middle of the day after practice or he can randomly hit you up at 2am after losing yet another round of game. acts out of impulse: when he misses you that’s when he calls you. it’s mostly video calls too! props up his phone so you can see choki his beloved but gets so pouty when you open up the conversation with “how’s choki?” before he can even show you the cactus lmao. “y’re supposed to be asking about me ( ´•︵•` )” he loooves long calls too (re: letting you watch him play without him saying a word whatsoever and no he did not lose track of time + the game after dedicating his next win to you?). is absolutely against ending it unless you really need to go. rip your phone battery.

⚘ BACHIRA MEGURU

ㅤㅤyou’re like an emergency call button but for whenever there’s something crazy going on. his living diary. a breathing, talking, and confused log entry. that being said, he contacts you at least once a day without a fail. well, that’s actually an understatement because he keeps calling then hanging up after telling you one (1) sentence?? “chigiri just ran me over; ok bye!” “my mom painted something inspired by you; later!” “rin-chan just said we’re all lukewarm, boo— ow, ouch!” gotta rely on his teammates to inform you about his well-being because calling him back is no use. “meguru?” “[unintelligible] [intense fighting ensues]” it’s fine, he makes up for it by showing up at your door later in the day. you think it’ll be funny if you close the door as soon as he finishes a sentence? “hi!!” [door closing] “h-wha- you won’t believe what happened today—” [door closing #2] “?? ok so it wasn’t chigiri who ran me over but isag—” imagine doing this after every sentence to teach him a lesson lmfao.

⚘ ITOSHI SAE

ㅤㅤhonestly? in the middle of a fucking interview because man is so unhinged i tell you. “so sae, are you ready for the next match?” ugh, this is so boring. “wait let me ask my s/o.” ??? this is broadcasted live, btw. you think just because he has a tight schedule and it’s nearly impossible to have a free time he won’t call you? he’ll find a way, he always does. likes to call you at the end of the day too and will never lose to the “who can stay awake the longest” game. is more of a listener than a talker, so go ahead and talk his ears off. he doesn’t mind if it’s you + he loves being the last one to end the call, making sure you get some rest (ps: he’s counting on you to wake him up the next day). you’ll receive a call from his manager in the morning saying that he won’t answer his phone and that they’re gonna be late for the next event. “goddamnit sae, not again.”

a/n: hi it's me :-) this is the final part of aches. thank you for letting me write this. thank you for being here to read it. i started writing this back in february, and spent all summer thinking about it. it's been so much fun, and so much work to think about all of these feelings all the time. hard to read too i'm sure lmfao. if you have questions about aches send me an ask :-) i will answer them all honestly now lmao. i love love writing for you, and i hope you'll be here for the next one! “Who was it?” I asked, finding him slumped over his guitar in the living room. My face was still wet, salt drying on my cheekbones. 

He shrugged, “Nobody.”

“Do I know her?” I felt as if I was standing before the sea, my ankles submerged in sand and the pulsing waves. He was far, far away. He could have been a siren, or a beam of light. It would be exhausting to swim to him either way.

He shook his head, staring at the floor. His eyelids fluttered, his cheeks looked warm. 

I let out a thin breath, “Who was it, Matty?”

“It doesn’t matter,” he glowered at the hardwood. “I don’t give a fuck about her. I never wanted anything to happen.”

“Alright,” I mumbled. I didn’t have the energy to pry the information from him. I didn’t want to know, anyways.

“I wasn’t interested in her. I was just,” he clasped his hands together, “I was just missing you.”

“Okay,” I said. I didn’t believe him, or trust him, or understand what he was saying. I opened a bottle of wine, filling a glass. He wandered into the kitchen, sitting at the island. He watched me from the corner of his eye, eyes flitting to his hands when I looked in his direction.

I couldn't slow my heart.

I sat beside him, tilting my glass until it was empty. I filled it again. He picked up the bottle suddenly, throwing his head back and guzzling. I blinked, watching him empty the bottle down his throat. 

“Half a bottle each is fair, don’t you think?” He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. I stifled a smile, my chest still feeling empty. My heart echoed weakly in the hollow of it. 

He reached his hand across the counter, covering mine. 

“Let’s go for a walk, sweetheart.” 

I followed him quietly, the summer evening quickly slipping into a heavy night. It was humid, and the air stuck to my skin. 

“You know where we’re going, don’t you?” He murmured. His heels scratched into the pavement. I nodded, the orange street lamps passing over us. He turned into the park, our hands twisted together. He sat on our bench, pulling me onto his lap. I leaned into him.

“I trusted you from the moment I met you,” I whispered. “You were a little shy at first.”

He smiled, brushing his thumb over my cheek. 

“I needed you,” I sighed. “I still need you.”

“I know,” he kissed my cheek gently. 

“You can’t leave me,” I said, realizing I was begging. “I can’t do it alone.”

“I’m not leaving you,” he shook his head, bringing his forehead to mine. “Never.”

“I don’t mean just physically,” I held his wrist. His palm was pressed to my thready pulse in my neck. “You can’t check out on me.”

“I won’t,” he said. “I won’t.”

I swallowed, “It was Jenna, right?”

He pulled back, and I saw the guilt swimming in his eyes. 

“She kissed you?” A hot tear fell from my cheek, sliding down my neck. He nodded. I dropped my head to his shoulder. 

“It was after I…” he trailed off, voice thick and rocky. I knew what he meant. “I just wanted you back. She’s your only friend, I–” He choked, taking a breath. “I didn’t know who else to ask.”

“Ask what?”

“If you were okay,” he mumbled. “To ask how long you had been this sad.”

“What did she say?”

“She said she hadn't seen you,” he picked at his cuticle. He shook his head, “She’s a shit friend, sweetheart.”

“So you kissed her?” I tried not to scream it. “I don’t get it.”

“I was drunk, and I asked her if she thought I deserved you,” he looked at me, heart spilling out of his wrists. “She said she didn’t know.”

I nodded. He frowned and sighed, agitated. 

“And why the fuck would she know?” He raked a hand through his hair. “I know you. I know us. It’s my fault, I neglected you, I assumed you would be alright, I asked you to marry me and then fucked off overseas for months. It’s my fault. I let you forget how love feels.”

I kissed him. Because I missed him. Because it was worth it, being with him. Because when he was home, he eclipsed the emptiness in my chest. He was everything good. 

He kissed me because he loved me, and that was always enough.

“Let’s get married tomorrow,” he cupped my face. “Let’s sign the papers at the courthouse, I don’t care. Just you and me, like it’s always been.”

I could only nod, listening to the crickets cry. The stars crackled above us, far, far, far above us.

“Here,” he handed me a ripped page, folded into a tattered square.

“What’s this?” I asked, thumbs pressed into the familiar, soft paper. From his notebook, I was certain. 

“Honeymoon gift,” he winked. Then bit his thumbnail, eyelids fluttering.

“Is this my song?” I gasped, unfolding the note. 

“It could be,” he sat back on the couch against the armrest, my feet on his lap. “It’s just ideas for now.”

“Couldn’t pick a melody?” I laughed, skimming over the page.

“Couldn’t get it to fucking rhyme.”

I giggled, “Should I read it out loud?”

“Absolutely not,” he said, eyes wide. I waved him off, reading his desperate handwriting. He had written my name, Sweetheart, in careful letters at the top of the page.

the jumpscares in this show are top tier

what i love about this show is how it still has me holding my breath even though i already know what’s going to happen

“i don’t wanna be alone. do you?” “no.” i was gonna say he wouldn’t be alone cause joyce is there but i remembered he doesn’t wanna tell her til it’s all over

it was such a great choice to have joyce be the first one to ever give el comfort because she’s such a soft, comforting person and i can’t think of anyone better

chapter 8

made it to the finale! gonna be honest, i didn’t think i’d get here in only two days but this show sucked me in the exact way it did the first time

“go to hell.” joyce is everything

waiting til this episode to give flashbacks on hop’s daughter was an excellent choice

steve just wanted to apologize to jonathan and now he’s an exasperated mother of seven. life comes at ya quick!!

“That bad?” Mumbo asked, cracking a bit of a smile. 

“That bad,” Bdubs confirmed. “What? Don’t tell me it’s easy for you.” 

“Oh no,” Mumbo said, shaking his head. “Not in the slightest. I’ve got three exams on Thursday. Three. In one day.” ‘

“That’s crazy… Shouldn’t you be studying then?” He teased. 

“You sound like you’re trying to get rid of me,” Mumbo said, making a move to stand up. 

Bdubs scoffed. “No way! Sit back down, I haven’t seen you in a month.” 

Mumbo laughed, settling back down more comfortably this time. This kind of back and forth reminded him of last semester. He could recall their frequent coffee outings together, their late nights “studying” in the library for their shared engineering class, and waking up on the floor of Bdubs’ dorm, half-sprawled on top of each other and definitely late for class. 

Not for the first time, Mumbo wondered what had happened to all of that. Fall semester of his second year just didn’t have that same spark. 

“It really has been a while,” Mumbo agreed. 

“Are you only now just figuring that out?” Bdubs asked. “I’ve barely seen you at all this semester!” 

“Oh believe me, I’ve realized,” Mumbo said. “I guess I never exactly realized just how terribly our schedules clashed. And exactly how little I’ve seen of you.”

“Even now, you’ve only got, what, an hour until class?” Bdubs asked, checking his watch for emphasis. 

Mumbo checked the time on his phone. “Less, technically.” 

“Skip class. Hang out with me instead.”

“I can’t do that!” Mumbo laughed. “Look, I bet I could guess why we lost touch so terribly, and I’ll tell you that I’m not the one who moved all the way across campus.” 

“Oh come on!” Bdubs laughed. “That again? It’s nothing personal, the dorms on East Side are way nicer. It can’t be the only reason I’ve barely seen you!”

“Fair. But you could’ve texted.” 

“So could you! Or you could’ve come to visit.” 

“Is that an invitation?” 

Bdubs grinned. “Isn’t it always? You spent enough nights at my place last semester, why would this semester be any different?”

Mumbo sipped his coffee. “It has felt different though, right?” He asked. “I mean, that much isn’t just me?” 

Bdubs hummed thoughtfully. “It has felt different,” he decided, “I don’t know why though.” 

“Me neither.” 

There was quiet between them for a few minutes, before Bdubs spoke up again. 

“We’re idiots,” he decided. 

Mumbo laughed. “What?” 

“We’re idiots!” Bdubs repeated. “We had no reason to fall out of touch, we both just made assumptions about how the other person was feeling, and neither of us reached out!” 

“...Oh my God, we might be idiots.” 

Bdubs laughed. “I know!” 

The laughter they shared felt familiar in the way they were both evidently craving, and for a moment, it was like no time had passed at all. 

“We wasted half a semester, didn’t we?” Mumbo finally admitted with a sigh. 

Bdubs shrugged. “Sorta, but we’re here now. And we’ve got the rest of the year to turn it around.” 

Mumbo hummed, slowly nodding in agreement. 

“Come over tonight,” Bdubs said finally. “Like old times! Bring whatever homework you have to do and we’ll spend too much money on takeout and crash on my floor.” 

“I actually really like the sound of that,” Mumbo agreed. 

“Seven, can you be over at seven?” 

“I can be over at seven.” For the first time since spring, Mumbo felt that familiar inability to stop smiling. Maybe Bdubs was right, maybe nothing had changed. Maybe they were just idiots. And maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t too late to pick up where they left off after all.

i’d love to imagine meeting takemichi, and confiding in him that i know about his power, that, i too, have a secret. i would tell him that i’m not even from this universe. he thinks time leaping 12 years is weird? try telling him you’re from another reality (basically) where he’s an anime.

to sum up my thoughts (i wrote 13 paragraphs before deleting it bc this is suppose to just be a ramble lmfao, maybe i’m uploading it later and get your guys inputs) i just feel like i would try to be the sunshine guard dog protector, y’know? not necessarily swoop in to save takemichi (tho, i’d definitely swoop in to beat some characters asses just bc i have a personal vendetta) because damn! look at how badass and hot takemichi is, whenever he fights?! (that ass. thiccimichi 😩😼)

now, here’s where my heart aches and my brain fries from overthinking. do i tell takemichi that i watched the anime (read the manga too) and know who will die in the end? do i tell him that i know of the anime but haven’t seen it or read the manga?

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR TOKYO REVENGERS ANIME AND MANGA!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

so, we know that in chapter 275 of the manga (probably season 5 in the anime if we’re lucky) takemichi ends up dying by mikey’s hand, a blade through his chest (heart? stomach? idk i haven’t read the manga in a few months. i sobbed hysterically over his death and refused to open the manga back up. that was until chapter 276 came out, how foolish of me to believe takemichi wouldn’t stand back up like he always does. what a true mc)

funny enough, by using mikey’s hand, he’s able to time travel him and mikey, not just 12 years, but back to when they were kids (i think they were 8 or somewhere around there). thus they are able to help each other create their perfect ending.

though… this “perfect ending” can’t happen unless the characters who died stay dead. shinichiro, baji, emma, izana, draken. with these deaths, mikey indulges in his “dark impulses” and thus the kanto manji gang and toman gen 2 end up fighting to lead to takemichi’s death and end with the perfect book closing page.

it’s unfortunate. it makes me tear up, sob, want to throw up (maybe throw myself out the window) but everything needs to happen. not only the deaths but takemichi’s mental health diminishing needs to happen to. this (others teaching him how to fight and his visions) helps takemichi in the last battle to dodge, punch and get close to mikey.

though, how easily takemichi forgives?! boy just smiles off his pain and forgives others, especially in the final chapter??? he just has his beautiful dopey smile on his face when mikey recognized him and then they ride off into the sunset to save their future??? hell. no. i need everyone to put their fists up, stand in a line, and eat my fucking fist.

i need a takemichi villain arc series. would someone be willing to make that for me? what do you want? a cookie? therapy? a hug? emotional and mental stability? no mommy and daddy issues? Honestly I do feel that--while it’s hilarious and somewhat fair the mansion men rib him about dressing her up--Comte does have positive intentions regarding the whole endeavor. It was recently brought to my attention by a friend (I can take little to no credit for this idea) that part of being lovers with someone is sharing what you have. Now this obviously doesn’t mean an exacting 50/50 type of thing, rather that part of showing proper care and affiliation can involve gifts/money depending on the situation.

In the case of Comte who is a man of considerable wealth and social standing, it would potentially appear negligent if MC were to appear at a ball with a dress she’s worn before. Part of being a responsible spouse in his context, then, would be to provide her with nothing less than the most stunning jewelry and top class new dresses. While I don’t necessarily think he’s interested in his/their image in a vain way or even all that obsessed with what others think, I do think he’s concerned about being a good husband and lover. And by extension, he wants MC to enjoy nice clothing and accessories and be able to present herself at his side with confident pride.

Another dimension that’s important to consider, I think, is the fact of his upbringing. It is very likely that in his household growing up, that might have been what he was taught. I won’t spoil the next Drama CD track, but there is evidence to believe he has a number of preconceived notions about what it means to be an adequate partner to someone. Granted I don’t think he’s incapable of seeing things any other way, but I think those lessons from when he was a kid do color his perception. He was likely taught that, as a person of status, he had to be exquisitely mannered, exceptionally talented in some form of the arts, a captivating dancer, a sharp and witty conversationalist, and many more expectations that he had no choice but to meet. And most importantly, he had to be able to convey that to and lead the woman he chose for himself. We have already explored the fact that pureblood vampires are a bit extreme and inhumane in their beliefs about many things. Given how weirdly obsessed they are with breeding more of them, it really wouldn’t surprise me if they have absolute ideas about gender roles.

It almost seems like for him to feel worthy of a relationship, he feels the need to meet those expectations. On some level, it’s like he forgets MC is just happy to be beside him; she’s not necessarily all that interested in him fitting the cookie cutter perfect aristocrat spouse. And in truth, I find that whenever she reminds him of what truly matters at the core, it always seems to give him a jolt. Not that he had considered it irrelevant, but that he gets so caught up in his instinctive/learned behavior that it’s a soothing reminder that he’s more than enough to be loved as he is. I think its particularly fascinating because it really doesn’t feel superficial or naive as much as it does a product of his habits/lifestyle. Yes it allows him to stay informed and busy (beating the bad thoughts away with a broom, mood) but he also loses that depth of connection that he yearns for. (Which he also fears, of course, because of everyone he’s lost. Man Comte tough break being allergic to your own feelings fr, spamming F in the chat--)

And God like. I know I’ve said it before but. The way this man does possessiveness/jealousy????? Unmatched. Enormously attractive. Yessir I wasn’t particularly interested in looking at anyone else, but wow does it set me on fire to be reminded sternly 👀

I haven't been active on anything lately so I don't know, what kind of hate are the foos getting? also just why? how can anyone give them hate after what they're going through

Hi love ❤️ Ugh, so I haven’t seen it on tumblr, mainly just Instagram & Facebook & YouTube, but there’s been a lot of hate comments towards Josh, and to the band for continuing on without Taylor, calling them greedy and money hungry and saying they don’t care about him. Like??? It’s fucking ridiculous. I did think some of the new music is a little forced sounding - not that they’re trying to rush it or anything but just that they’re struggling to continue without him, which I think is a natural part of the healing process and I’ve seen it in other bands I love that lost a member. It’s not like they just went oh here’s the new guy we’re resuming as normal, they’re honoring him at every show and they made a record dedicated to him, I haven’t seen Dave get through one FF performance without tears since then, and Josh is an amazing guy AND he has the hawk logo all over his drums. And he was friends with Taylor. 🙄

It kinda reminds me of how many people just brushed over the rest of the band when Taylor died and singled out Dave as the only one that could be grieving. Like yes, maybe he took it the hardest since they were the closest, but I seldom heard how Pat must feel despite the fact that he’s lost 3 bandmates now, or how Nate must feel despite the fact that he knew Taylor and loved Taylor for 25 years too, or how Chris and Rami felt despite the fact they were best friends with Taylor too and were just as impacted by him. Like they are very open about how they’re all best friends, and the fact that Josh has stepped in to act as the glue to prevent them from drifting apart and to stick together during such a painful time makes me incredibly happy… I have no idea why other people see it as a bad thing. And the whole “greed” thing is probably coming from Karens who can’t wrap their head around the fact that most musicians make music because they love it, not because of the money, and that’s why they’re containing on as a band lmfao

I hate to give it attention but it was a lot of comments and it honestly shocked me, I was thinking the same thing. How can anybody be that fucking cruel and senseless after all they’ve been through is beyond me. I guess maybe it’s coming from a perspective of not wanting the band to be different or to see someone else behind the kit, but they have to move on and heal, and it’s selfish for people to not want them to do that. But then again there’s a lot of loonies out there that believe in wild conspiracies or that Dave worked him to death or forced him to do things against his will so who fucking knows 🤦🏻‍♀️
