THE AFTERMATH will be the final chapter and it already has a really really special place in my heart and so far it’s tying together with the story very wonderfully. I think it’s going to be very satisfying and i’m hoping it’s the happy ending we deserve. :)

Oh i’m so glad you like that aspect of their relationship, I thought it was an interesting way to illustrate their codependency in a concrete way. And also the author revealed their oral fixation in the process✨To be honest, I don’t know how long I’m going to make this fic, ultimately. I set out to write it before Caleb was released bc I needed a fix after they released his preview content. of course as a result it diverges from canon in way that makes a longer fic less interesting to me, because I like the canon so much and like to put emotional meat on the canon story bones. So right now i’m only planning maybe a few more parts of this particular Caleb fic to resolve the boyfriend plot thread—and the boyfriend only exists because I wanted to show how Caleb would deal with jealousy, as a sort of pre-emptive defense to what i knew too much of this fandom would write: violent/mean/cruel jealous sex, when based on infold’s track record, he’d never be violent, mean or cruel to mc even while jealous or possessive😭 so i kind of want to tie it up with some filthy codependent caleb smut before doing more sylus or a new caleb fic that is more in line with canon. But i can guarantee that caleb intervening with mc’s smoking/offering an alternative to cigarettes will happen in the fic, but I don’t know if the fic itself will end in her entirely quitting her use of cigarettes. But i’m really encouraged to hear you like that part, i’ll keep it in mind as a continue writing!

extremely questionable methodology but i compiled all the dialogue spoken between Shigaraki and Deku starting from when Shigaraki breaks out of AFO’s control in Chapter 379 up to Chapter 412.

(There are chapters where they appear but do not speak. Those are the chapter numbers.)

The takeaway is that Shigaraki is extremely chatty! A lot of it is taunts, but Shigaraki’s also revealing a lot of stuff about his plans and his opinions.

Deku does not seem as interested in returning the conversation, however. Whenever he does speak, it’s less in response to any of the content of Shigaraki’s chatter, and more heroic statements of intent. (The ‘you’re still human’ is the only direct refutation, I think.)

To be fair, his focus is all on surviving Shigaraki’s attacks. Nearly all his internal thoughts are strategy - combining a quirk with this quirk, how exactly he can physically stop Shigaraki. Additionally, before Chapter 410, he was probably too worried about All Might; while for most of Chapter 412, he was asphyxiating. Hard to chat when so much shit is happening.

And you can argue Shigaraki is just Villain monologuing. Deku doesn’t have to pay attention to anything he says - a lot which are, after all, taunts - he doesn’t have to engage with Shigaraki’s dumb rants.

His goal is to save Shigaraki/The Crying Child, and only that - not like talking or asking questions about anything or responding is required for that.

Honestly, I have so many thoughts on the race but the main thing I’m taking away is how proud I am of Lando this year.

I remember during preseason interviews him being asked questions like “will you win a race this year” and “is it a mistake that you’ve stayed at Mclaren”. Not only did the man get his maiden win this year but he’s in a WDC title fight???? Like talk about 0-100.

Has he and the team made plenty of mistakes.. absolutely. But this is his FIRST year with a car capable of winning any sort of title. He not only has won 2 races by over 20 SECONDS, but he is consistently putting in good performances and dealing with the pressure super well. I remember CONSTANTLY being stressed during quali all of last year because Lando (admittedly) was not strong enough in qualifying. This year the only time he hasn’t been in q3 is because of a yellow flag completely outside of his control and HE STILL GOT P4 in that race.

I have so many thoughts about how well he’s doing. But I’ll leave it there. He has honestly improved so much over the last 2 years and I can’t wait to see him win a WDC (and no- I’m not giving up on it being this year ;)

so question in the Beta AU, is there character growth? I'm unentirely sure if this is just "I can make em worst" or has a semi planned path

i’m actually trying to work on a timeline, because it would be really fun to have everyone go to the human realm and whatnot. as of right now, the characters are sort of their own entities that interact with one another without a clear path.

i might change things up from what i currently have drawn because i was projecting some things in my life on Hunter and Willow… though i REALLY would like them to have character development like you asked, and i am totally up for recommendations on what to do (i might throw up a few polls for ideas or something, and as the story goes on i’ll 100% take comments/asks about it).

SO that’s a lot of talk to say that i will get to it, but at the moment they have no drawn/written character development.

I adore OX’s spontaneous inconsistency, but not so much when it comes to the christmas specials. I’m really hoping this year’s update will be a continuation and not something else. we wait an entire year for these chapters — out of everything else (official illustrations, extra chapters, normal chapters, etc.), I feel like OX should consistently deliver christmas specials on principle

but I know I’ll still enjoy/support whatever ends up being posted… I’ll just inevitably be a bit saddened if it isn’t a continuation from last year, and I think that’s fair to say without sounding like a complete asshole
